@taikouvember Day 2: Past & Future
As mentioned in one of my many story ideas; I still think it's a missed opportunity on Toei's behalf not to give Digimon the Dragon Ball/Sailor Moon treatment of having future children travel back in time to support their parents to prevent devastating events, so... Since time traveling at least appears to be a thing in the Digimon universe now, I am convinced that, if ANY kid was capable of making it work, it'd be Koushirou's daughter. So in an ideal world... She'd definitely help her dad(s) to come to the right conclusions. Either way, Taichi would be protective af and Koushirou - despite the current situation being more than a little confusing - may start to consider one or another potential version of the future to work hard for. Even though their relationship may still be in its early stages at this point in time, there may be moments of serenity and calm. And a little family bonding as well...

Aaaaa TaiKouvember day 1!!
Day 1: The Multiverse: Canon vs. AU
I decided today is the best day to pull out my V-Tamer Au versions of these two :)
(Based off a TaiShirou fic I’m currently writing!!)

TaiKouvember Day 4B: Healing
Koushirou didn’t want to dump water all over his best friend, but he couldn’t bear seeing Taichi in such a state. Not his strong, dependable friend.
Once Taichi has bolted awake and locked eyes with Koushirou, he knows he made the right choice. Wet bloodshot eyes return his gaze, quickly looking away once their confusion dissipates.
“…How much did you figure out…” Taichi was the first to speak. It was less of a question and more of a statement, and whether Kou was even meant to hear the quiet words was anyone’s guess.
Koushirou, having planned his course of action swiftly, throws a towel at the drenched boy in front of him.
“I’m sorry Taichi-san, I didn’t want to throw water on you. You looked to be in so much pain, I couldn’t bear to see it.” Koushirou says in an empathetic tone. He too knew all too well the nightmares the Digital World had inflicted upon them.
“It’s fine Kou, I’m sorry you had to see that. No more kimchi before bed, right?” Taichi tries to smile, hiding his pain behind a joke. Koushirou returns the smile but still pushes forward.
“I don’t think kimchi is the only problem here. Would you like to talk about what happened?” Koushirou says this a bit slowly, sitting beside his friend’s bed on the floor. He looks up earnestly at his friend, fully willing to listen.
As much as Taichi wishes he could keep quiet, wishes he could forget this whole thing, wishes he could ignore the redhead in front if him, he simply can’t. Taking a slow, gentle breath, he begins to recount the dream.
Koushirou, for his part, never stops listening. A focused look slowly appears on his face, his mind moving to connect every bit of information in the hopes of helping his aching friend.
By the time Taichi finishes, Koushirou already has him in a hug. Taichi slowly returns it, but still protests.
“I’m still wet Kou, you’re going to-“
“Taichi-san, Agumon is safe.”
“I know, but-“
“He forgave you, right?”
“That hardly-“
“Then why can’t you forgive yourself?”
“Why should I be forgiven?”
Taichi will never forget that stern pained look in Koushirou’s eyes.
“Would Agumon want to hear you say that? What about Sora? Or Hikari? Would any of our friends want to hear that from our leader? I understand this feeling Taichi, of feeling like you’ve hurt your partner in indescribable ways, but you cannot let it control you. Agumon is safe and happy. He is away, but we can still communicate. And he would tell you the same thing as I am right now. You have to forgive yourself. You have to move forward and heal. You have to focus on the *whole* story. Yes he may have Dark Digivolved, but you were carrying the burden of being the only Crest-bearer at a time when we were facing Etemon head on. It was only natural you would make a mistake. A mistake you learned from when you properly Digivolved to save Sora from Datamon!”
“But SkullGreymon could have killed us!”
“And so could have Etemon, but you saved us Taichi-san. And you’ve saved Agumon too. Our Digimon were made for us, but that doesn’t mean the love we have for them or them for us is any less real.”
That last line left Taichi quiet, closing his eyes as his breathing softened. He really did love Agumon, he was like the little brother he never had. He had mistreated Agumon, pushed him into something he wasn’t ready for, and that will always stay with him. That doesn’t mean he has to let it control him either. They were alive and well today after all, all because they could achieve a bond even stronger than it took to achieve MetalGreymon.
“Thank you Koushirou, I’ll try to forgive myself.”
“Good, I’m glad Taichi-san. Now change into a new pair of pajamas, you’re going to catch a cold.”
Taichi could only laugh before throwing his damp nightshirt at the one who made him wet and cold go begin with.

It's nice, right? It made me think of you. Of us (:

In the Digimon Adventure universe there are so many ships, but what's so strikingly beautiful about Taichi and Koushiro -whether they're romantic or platonic- to me is that they always seem to find each other again in a very pure way that happens naturally.
Both of them had to face their troubles and demons, deal with traumas both together and seperately. But in the end they can come home to each other and help each other heal. And that's a relationship, friendship and dynamic that will stick with me for a long time. (On a very personal level that is, because I myself have been struggling a lot with the concept of finding and keeping my "homes" -both literally and figuratively-. Only shows what a ship can do to a person, am I right?)

i have trouble articulating, truly, what taishiro means for me.
they really *are* my fictional dads.
i found out digimon when i was 9 in 2014. i knew nothing of myself, and honestly, i would be scared even if i knew. watching all of digimon adventure and 02 in one summer is a bit much, but that was 9 year old me. (i wanted the uniforms)
tai and izzy, as i knew them then, were the mentors i can look up to. they seemed so much more mature then.
when i was actually 14, roughly 2019, people started to post their analyses on tumblr. i was hooked. some personal shit happened before then, so at that point, i related to taichi and his struggles. koushiro being so understanding, and being together in the good times and the bad, made me remember their dynamic.
now im 18, in college, and fucking scared. so yes, tri/kizuna arc for me. i was literally born the summer of tri, so thats why im panicking so much.
they give me the courage to explore more, and the knowledge that even if i don't have it figured out, i'll be ok.
as characters and the way toei releases stuff, i get more of an understanding of them as i grow up.
i love them, and i love how this community has grown through these past few years.

This is what I was working on all up until November!
I wanted to finish it in time for a fan event, but,
it didn't quite happen in time that way.
(Maybe I can finish it later this year?!)
For now, please enjoy the preview!
I was also working on this together with a mutual - the track choice was mainly their idea, but I was trying to help find scenes that'd fit, and I managed to make quite a few moments work;
You'll notice it's slightly different from my usual styles, but I'm also trying to relate specific moments and framing rather clearly here!!
(I'll admit theres a couple lines I thought were harder to work with; I'll figure those out later, but the track was overall fun for them regardless and I really enjoyed trying to make this!!)
{As usual, a bit of manipulating scenes does happen, but its not ultra-heavy edits; all of these scenes come direct from canon formats for the most part, with some simple scenic manipulating otherwise!}

@taikouvember Day 1: The Multiverse: Canon vs. AU
One of my favourite AUs of recent times has been my own little Miraculous Ladybug Taishirou AU; and since the series itself has been delving pretty deep into its own multiverse this year, I thought there was no better opportunity than to pay homage to the movie that came out this year. Granted, it doesn't play out exactly as it did there - but even if my own version of the reveal was a little bit more on the dramatic side, the movie scene was peak romantic cheese and hasn't left my mind ever since I watched it. I wouldn't mind my OTP to find happiness and a happy end like this after all...

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL PARTICIPANTS (AND LURKERS TOO)
In 2022, Taikouvember had been announced on short notice, leading to not many people knowing about the event. And even if several people were participating, causing a nice little atmosphere, we wanted to make sure that this year would be even more enjoyable for everyone involved. And we believe this has worked out wonderfully!
Thus we wanted to thank everyone who took the time to draw, write, make edits, compile posts and so on and so on. We know lives are busy and yet, you all did your best to contribute and that is worth all the praise in the world. Our favourite ship might not be the most popular one out there, but we are proud to have a small community dedicated to showing their love for it. And it doesn't matter what you did, how much or how little you did, if you could finish it in time or just handed in drafts: It's all wonderful.

34. Spotless
“No.” Koushirou stands firmly with his arms spread wide and hands pressing into the doorframe to block Taichi’s path. “We’ve been over this. You are not allowed in here.”
There is only one place that Taichi is banned from entering — Koushirou’s office. He’s very specific about how his office is set up, always taking care of his computer equipment. He uses the compressed air to ensure not even a speck of dust could cause an issue. The room is downright spotless. He doesn’t even bring his coffee in there when he works!
“Oh, come on!” Taichi complains. His whining won’t persuade Koushirou — not this time.
“The last time you went in there to ‘vacuum’ you somehow deleted half the project I was working on.” Koushirou even throws in some air quotes. Taichi opens his mouth, but Koushirou cuts him off. “And it wasn’t just ‘one time’ either. Do you remember those times in college?” Taichi makes a face and avoids eye contact. Triumphantly, Koushirou crosses his arms. “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
