Ranni's two sisters (if not cousins?)
It is not just my thoughts, but more like three people discussing the ideas hahah. So, @swallowtail-ageha brought to me the idea that the name of the towers deeper in Caria Manor, The Three Sisters, could be not quite a fancy architecture name, but refer to actual sisters, given the description of Carian Filigreed Crest that we get from Iji:
Tumblr media
The way it is specified here that Ranni is Rennala's daughter makes it feel as though other princesses were not, so they could have instead been daughters of Rennala's siblings! I will get to the possible interpretations, but I just want to bring up something interesting that I think makes it even more likely that specifically TWO other princesses existed! When I heard the suggestion about there having BEEN three sisters, I instantly remembered this bit:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Besides a 'normal' Mausoleum, in Liurnia, there are interesting two Mausoleums pretty close to each other geographically, that are unique compared to others! You probably remember them - they do not have a bell underneath but they can leap like frogs, they do not have any spirits around, and they can ONLY duplicate the ashes of the bosses that aren't shard-bearing demigods:
Tumblr media
^ Like that, same character (thanks @val-of-the-north for all these screenshots). And there are no other Mausoleums like that.
So, yeah, Ranni once having had two sisters would likely mean that they were not contenders for the throne, as there were no extra sits resorted for them in Leyendell. But this could be more than same fate as those demigods / shard bearers who "failed" Marika. Like, think about it! There are two Mausoleums in Liurnia, that still was a domain of Carians at some point, which behave "downgraded" compared to others, whereas normally Mausoleums are where fallen/failed demigods got buried:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With how these Mausoleums are, it seems like people that are buried in them are not demigods / had no shard, yet still were important enough to earn a burial of this type? And like... would not that make sense if 'being important enough' was being related to the royal family?
I am not entirely sure why they would have no shards themselves? This is where variants really start to split! @swallowtail-ageha suggested that merely being Radagon's child was not all yet to be one, and I can see that! This is actually the full idea:
Tumblr media
^ These are ALSO very good points! These Mausoleums are for those who died during Night of the Black Knives, so I agree that whatever the reason for them to (very likely) lack shards is, they died that night too.
And back to the reasoning, me and @val-of-the-north were also discussing the potential ideas of either 'sisters' being actually cousins or Rennala being divorced twice, hah..
The cousins idea would defeat the purpose of the name Three Sisters, sort of, unless you could say it meant 'sisterhood' of princesses. The Japanese name is スリーシスターズ (Surīshisutāzu), like... you can already see that it is English name, simply English 'three sisters' written in Japanese with syllables, rather than Japanese words used. And in English language, sisters could mean not just literal! (Japanese script found in this ( x ) document). What works with it is not just description of Carian Filigreed Crest refering to Ranni being Rennala's daughter as the unique thing, but also Renalla herself showing unambigiously special feelings towards her! It is harder to say a lot about the idea that Rennala had someone before Radagon, it could have happened under pressure of having had a heir, and so the first divorce (or maybe even more likely, loss) did not break Rennala like Radagon leaving did, since she didn't love that previous person? It just leaves even more things to work with- not exactly a bad thing if you love writing many headcanons!
And as for these variants, it made both me and Val think of a guy that might have been relevant:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the portraits we see Rennala, Azur, Lusat, the conjoined twins guys, (very likely) Sellen and... this guy. Honestly? Could have been not actually a simp really devoted scholar in Raya Lucaria that delved deep into Moon stuff, but Rennala's brother! The royal family basically took over Raya Lucaria, and considering Moon worthy as much as the Stars was specifically what they brought into it! But Azur and Lusat, teachers of Sellen, have been very important already, since the former direction of the academy is connected to them. At the same time, their associated colors are turquoise and blue, whereas Twinsage crown features the same colors both, and Sellen... well, she knew Azur and Lusat, and has been around long enough to deeply resent how much academia has changed. All things considered, she was equally important to the twins before getting banished. The remaining guy behind Lazuli Conspectus sticks out in comparison... unless he tagged along WITH Rennala when she took over the academy!
And yeah, alternatively, he could have just been her previous husband, that was more just a tool under pressure of having heirs; she took over Raya Lucaria before marrying Radagon, and maybe something just happened with that guy, which did not effect her very much since she didn't feel anything for him. A little bad look though.. unless there was a plot twist of Radagon murdering the guy but it was one of the things wiped from collective consciousness with Celestial Dew, and that's why nobody seems to mind? Perception filter! I am not sure with which idea I agree more myself 🤔 But yeah, if the third person is involved, I'd say it had to be this guy - father of the other two "sisters"... Whether they'd be actually cousins or actually half-sisters.
Tumblr media
___________________________
So yeah, these are the thoughts! Sorry that was probably a little chaotic, Elden Ring theories are totally not my forte compared with BB ones! It is just that Swallowtail activated my brainrot with that suggestion and I instantly had something to add to that, hahah;

What do u think of the theory that Ranni had 2 sisters? How do u think that would shake up the Carian family dynamic?
So, the evidence for Ranni having two sisters is that 1. the Carian filigreed crest item mentions “princesses” (“Now there is only one princess: Ranni, daughter of Rennala”), and 2. the towers around Caria manor are called the Three Sisters, with one of them being called “Ranni’s rise.”
I suppose it’s possible that Rennala and Radagon had two more daughters… but there is no reference to them as characters whatsoever in the whole game, so it would be highly strange to me if they existed. They would also have to be demigods, since all the children of Rennala and Radagon became “demigod stepchildren after Radagon’s union with Queen Marika.” And though it’s still definitely possible that they could be demigods that were just totally irrelevant, I feel like Rennala and Radagon’s children occupy a pretty unique political position in the family dynamic, so it’s hard for me to believe that any of them could be totally irrelevant during the Shattering. The hypothetical existence of the sisters raises a lot of questions for me, like why didn’t they inherit great runes like their siblings? Why don’t we have any evidence of them assisting their family members during both the Liurnian civil war and the Shattering? Why can’t we find evidence of them being alive anywhere, and if they were killed, why don’t we have any direct references to the deaths of the children of such an important family (important to both the Golden Order and to Carian society)? I just don’t think it makes much sense!
To answer the second part of the your question, I think that if the siblings had two more sisters, they would have to be younger than Ranni. If we assume that the Carian royals follow female-preference primogeniture, then Ranni, who is explicitly said to be the heir, would have to be the eldest daughter. Also, if they were younger than Ranni, I can’t really see Radahn and Rykard having a very close relationship with them due to them probably being much older… I’m sure Ranni would’ve been interacting with them more, probably learning her mother’s lunar magic alongside them. Lastly, we have to ask ourselves that if these sisters existed, where did they go? It kinda seems like the only option is if they were killed in the Liurnian civil war, since the Cuckoo knights completely destroyed the Carians’ land, save for Caria Manor. Anyway that’s all I can really think of, I kinda struggled answering this part of the question because I really don’t think Rennala and Radagon had any more kids lol the more I think about it the less likely it seems

Welcome!
What this is: This blog is mostly dedicated to my Elden Ring OC Izar (more about her below). There might also be other content (Baldur’s Gate 3, DnD 5e, writing) unless I’ll feel the need to create specific sideblogs for that (unlikely, I lack the energy).
What I do: I’ll mostly share screenshots, headcanons, storytelling, and writing snippets. While this is not a pure RP blog I very much enjoy RPing, so feel free to shoot me a prompt/starter whenever you like! (For more information regarding RP, flip through the Stargazer's Cookbook I've left over here!)
Who I am: You can call me Zari. I’m over 30, she/her. Not a native English speaker, so bear with me if I say strange things. Expect occasional ramblings about the glory of freelance life, and know that there is never enough coffee.
Tumblr media
Izar Tarazed, Tarnished Astrologer
Izar barely remembers anything from the time before her awakening in the Lands Between – just her name and what she knew of the stars. However, the stars above the Lands Between are different, their lore mostly lost to her, so she gathers stories and bits of information wherever she can.
Her most treasured possessions are her telescope and her map-making tools.
Whenever she gets the chance, Izar will sit and work on her celestial maps, preferably beneath the golden light of grace, trying to figure out constellations and their possible meanings. Working on her maps also calms her down and helps her focus.
She’s often more driven by her astrological curiosity than by the ambition to become Elden Lord – she’ll confront Rennala mainly because she wants access to the library of Raya Lucaria, and Radahn because she wishes to set the stars back in motion.
Izar relies mostly on her sorceries – the Comet and Night Comet are her favorites – and only starts improving her skills with melee weapons and a shield when Ensha insists on teaching her.
Tumblr media
Personality
Izar is a little geek when it comes to astrology and will talk about it with neverending enthusiasm. At a new place, its (potential) view of the night sky is usually the first thing she’ll check.
She values the friendships and alliances she makes, being protective of those she cares about; that might be both her greatest strength and her greatest weakness.
Upon meeting someone for the first time, she'll rather be calm and cautious, but much more confident, cheeky and bubbly once she feels comfortable.
The fact that she doesn’t remember who she was before bothers her more than she lets on.
When upset, she can be pretty defiant, sarcastic and snappy.
Sir, That’s My Emotional Support Skeleton
Tumblr media
Izar spares Ensha’s life when he attacks her at the Roundtable Hold. This leads to them being sent out on a mission together to track down Latenna (which, of course, doesn’t go as planned). While they start out deeply suspicious of each other, teaming up only reluctantly, they eventually come to trust each other and become close friends.
(I’m not entirely sure what Ensha is, but I’m leaning way more into the headcanons of the somehow animated armor/actual skeleton with some kind of relation to the ancient king mentioned in the description of the Royal Remains set, rather than just being some guy with a skull mask.)
Ensha will often travel with Izar, having her back and finding picturesque dungeon walls to lean against and ponder how on earth this careless astrologer can still be alive. (He's exaggerating, of course. Izar can definitely handle herself ... most of the time.)
Since Ensha doesn’t speak, their communication process is a little rocky at first but improves once Izar gets better (and eventually good) at understanding his sign language. From that point, they'll often have some banter going on (that usually remains at least partially unnoticed by their surroundings).

BONK!
Hiyo! I bring a silly ask! What kind of pokemon do you think the ER cast would like to have around?
(Choose however as many or as little characters as you like <3)
Oh dude, be prepared for a long answer bc I was obsessed with pokemon for the first half of the pandemic so I make teams for characters a lot and I try to put a lot of thought into them, but sometimes it really is just rule of cool.
Tumblr media
Starting with Ranni because I don't get her, so her team is basically just themed after her.
Shiny Midnight Lycanroc - She's had this one since she was a child Lunala - in a pokemon au she would have met it instead of the dark moon or maybe it was passed down from Rennala Frosslass - is ghost. is ice. is woman. what more do you want? Mega Banette - Mega bc it looks cooler than normal Banette, but in general it's the possessed doll pokemon so it makes sense to give it to her Mismagius - For the crone that taught her magic Alolan Ninetales - A doglike ice type to round everything out
Tumblr media
For Rennala, I did what you would more likely find around her now than the team she may have used in the past.
Clefable - Among her sweetings, there are also members of the entire clefable line scattered around the library, gathering around her as they would the full moon. Shiny Gardevoir - Shiny bc blue to signify that Ranni has left this one to guard her in her slumber. Cresselia - Moon theme and pleasant dreams, it's a crescent moon so idk if this would be her Moon pokemon the way Lunala is Ranni's but it feels right Midday Lycanroc - the red wolf of radagon Hatterene - This one could go one of two ways. It's a witchy looking thing and it attacks anyone who shows too much emotion. This could either be a pokemon the Raya Lucaria scholars left to watch her and make sure she doesn't try anything, or it could be like Gardevoir and one of her children (Rykard in this case) put it there to guard her.
Tumblr media
Like Rennala, Radahn's "team" is just the pokemon encountered while fighting him. Which is to say Leonard the mudsdale and various minior that crash down during and after the battle.
Tumblr media
Rykard's turn! I know there's not a single snake on this team but hear me out
Magmortar and Delphox - He developed magma sorceries Groudon - This is Eiglay. I know it's not a snake but like. look. Big catastrophe causing thing sealed beneath a volcano. It's Eiglay. Yamask - explicitly the soul of a dead human. Not sure if this is on his team so much as scattered around volcano manor, but it felt important to mention. Magearna - Virgin abductors Mawile - This one is probably Tanith's but I'm not doing a team for her. It's the decoy pokemon, it fits both of them. Tanith is like the main body, Rykard is like the mouth.
Tumblr media
Leaving the carians, we have the easiest team so far: Godfrey. Perrserker, Machamp, Incineroar - Self explanatory really, they fight like him. Sirfetch'd - His knights, the decorum he has as Elden Lord, and the Storm King he defeated was a bird. Solgaleo - Serosh, godfrey is sun-aligned. Azumarill - HEAR ME OUT. Huge power + high hp makes it a powerful foe, water to fight against all the different fires that oppose the erdtree, fairy to conquer the dragons, its shiny is gold, and the most important point of all: Gap Moe
Tumblr media
I want to make a team for Godwyn, but it's very hard since he doesn't really...have much to him? Haxorus and Kommo-o - Golden + Dragon Roaring Moon - Literally an ancient dragon Cursola - Analagous to deathblight Fortissax isn't in his party, but he would probably be Giratina?
Tumblr media
Godrick's team is a joke kinda, but Machamp - 4 arms plus one of Godfrey's iconic pokemon Shiny Magikarp - for the Lord of All That Is Golden Corviknight - For the storm king Dracovish - Grafting! Dragon! It was so hard not to make his entire team galarian fossils bc they're all grafted freaks
Tumblr media
For Malenia, I think she would have a different team before her rot got too bad. These three go along with her graceful fighting style pretty well, and since she is a walking toxic status effect...
Tumblr media
Bisharp is the only one who survives and evolves into Kingambit. Ceruledge - dual wielding swords, edgy and cool, since it's a ghost she can't kill it by just being near it. She trained it up alongside her cleanrot knights. Quaquaval - a gift from the blind swordsman The last three are some of many nuisances that follow her around at the haligtree. Things that like poison and rot are just attracted to her.
Tumblr media
Miquella's team is probably exactly what you'd expect. Silcoon - It doesn't seem to want to hatch... Togetic - "These Pokémon are never seen anywhere near conflict or turmoil. In recent times, they’ve hardly been seen at all." They're also known to bless people, very fitting for what we know about Miq Shaymin - It purifies toxins and grows flowers Comfey - more flowers, more healing, I bet there's a bunch of these around the Halligtree. Musharna - dreamworld pokemon <3 Gardevoir - Counterpart to Malenia's old Gallade. It's his strongest pokemon and only fights to protect him
Tumblr media
Marika has no pokemon, she may have at some point, but right now the only pokemon she's around is Ultra Necrozma (The Elden Beast, bc it's golden, evil, a legendary, and from space)
Tumblr media
Aaaaaand the last character I'm going to do is Radagon, but if anyone's read this far and wants me to do a specific character outside the god family tree, I'd be hella down.
Zoroark - You Know Why He Has This (it can disguise as humans) Zacian - Radagon seems to be tied to wolves/dogs, plus it has his greatsword Aegislash - this one just feels right Trevenant - for the erdtree Minior - for his elden stars incantation
So yeah that was way too many words and I'm sure as soon as I post this I'll think of better ones but yeah! Ty for the ask bud!!

Yo Mara!
For the ask game, can I get Ranni?
Hey-o! ( ̄︶ ̄)/
~
First impression: Pretty colour scheme and interesting character design. I was immediately a fan of the four arms and the spectral second face.
Impression now: One of the most idealistic and strong willed characters we meet. Also an idiot that acts all scary and mysterious to everyone, when in reality she's only scary to her enemies and mysterious to none. Kinda cute.
Favourite moment: How she talks about Blaidd and Iji when in mini-Ranni form. I feel like that whole dialogue explains a lot about her character and motivations, and shows that she's not half as heartless as most people seem to think.
Idea for a story: Mmm... I think her years as a student would be interesting. She's both very rebellious and brilliant at magic, so I think it would make for a fun story. Both her time as a student in the Academy and under the Snow Witch.
Unpopular opinion: Ranni didn't have that much control over the Night of the Black Knives. I'm sure that her "death" was planned, but I don't know if Godwyn's was. Or at least the results of his "death" wasn't. I don't have an explanation for this, it's just a feeling. And I'm probably wrong, but hey, it is an unpopular opinion. :P
Favorite relationship: Her trust and love for Blaidd, Iji and Rennala. They are the last remainders of her family, given that Radahn is a husk and Rykard has gone insane. Again, the way she talks about her last sane brothers is so loving. And of course the way she constantly keeps an eye on her mother and the way she defends her when the Tarnished attacks her, conjuring an illusion and portraying her in her most powerful and impressive form.
Favorite headcanon: She has small dolls (like her own) of all her family and she keeps them on her at all times. A small furry Blaidd, a wooden Iji and of course dolls of her mother and other brothers. I'm thinking it, like, how some people have pictures of important persons in their lives, she has dolls.
~
Thank you for picking her! It's been a while since I thought about her canon character, it was interesting.

What are your thoughts about the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer? I am SO EXCITED, and also a bit terrified because (I cannot lie) ER was the hardest From game for me to complete--even harder than Sekiro--and I'm pretty sure the DLC will make Ringed City look like a walk in the park.
That's not going to stop me from making a new character and dying a thousand times to prepare for it, though :DD
thank you for your message! 🖤 i am so, so incredibly excited too!
i thought i wouldn't be too into it because i have to say that the whole marika line (with the exception of godwyn and the eldritch horror he turned into after death) wasn't really interesting to me overall, neither miquella nor malenia, and knowing the dlc was going to likely involve at least one of them heavily... well.
having said that, the trailer absolutely captivated me. it looks so beautiful. i'm interested to see how messmer fits into the whole narrative now and i'm very, very hopeful for more lore of the carian line (rennala, ranni, rykard and radahn) because of that one shot in trailer that seems to indicate some sort of connection there.
there's also just something very fascinating about fromsoft's games and their lore. i feel like an archeologist playing them and i love fully immersing myself in the experience of these games and how excited the community gets about them.
if you're interested in that too, i can only recommend queelag's video on the dlc trailer, as well as miss chalice's. both are well done and caught a lot of things i didn't!
also on a gameplay level, i just really love the game. it's very hard, but so rewarding. i enjoy the co-op aspect a lot. i don't know how many hours i spent with other players, getting help beating bosses or helping them beat bosses (altho i'm very sorry to anyone who ever summoned me to help with godfrey), explore areas & dungeons together. i'm so ready to play this game again.
plus, i love my elden ring ocs a lot even though i talk much less about them since i haven't really found a big community for elden ring ocs on tumblr. (':
sorry for rambling!

sobbing into my hands engie and millicent (i love your elden ring au!! if you'd like, could you say a bit more about what sniper's up to in the lands between?)
Sure thing!
So Sniper, just like in canon material, is just kinda there. Not to say he's not important of course, he's the kinda guy who enjoys just being there. Unlike everyone else on the team, Sniper actually has survival skills, he knows how to set up a tent, make a fire, hunt for food, and more. Though the fact there's 9 people and 1 him makes things difficult. Plus, it's the lands between, so things are hunting them while they go about. I have this one idea for a chapter in the fic where they hunt a bear, and Heavy is like 'something doesn't feel right' and then they get attacked by a rune bear. For reference, a rune bear is this
Tumblr media
Sniper, like the rest of the gang, would not have his weapons or gear with him, so he makes due- bow and arrow time. Canonically he at least knows how to use one, so he definitely would find the nearest shortbow and get to work sniping heads while everyone else distracts the enemy.
Eventually when Medic loses use of his legs (Deathblight), he's stuck to his horse, however, the horse only knows movement with stirrups and reigns, and Sniper lost his horse- an omen for how the rest of the au's gonna go- so they join forces, since both of them prefer to not be in range of enemy attacks. They don't like sharing the horse.
Tumblr media
Also, Sniper's hair grows out! I just think he looks very attractive with long hair (blame @/queensqueercourt for getting me into it). He also by some miracle still has his aviators and hat by the end.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the end! Spoilers for the fic and body horror ahead!
So, Sniper does eventually die in the fic, pretty late into it, but he does. The team needs all seven greatrunes to get home, so they have to beat Godrick, Morgott, Rennala, Mohg, Radahn, Malenia, and Rykard in order to get inside the Erdtree and restore the Elden Ring and all that. Now, Malenia, is, uh, Malenia is Malenia. She has +10 million kills of players over any other boss, and it took Jerma 4 hours to beat her (When I shared my au with friends, they asked if they can summon Let Me Solo Her. They cannot.)
So in the fight, there's Heavy, Scout, Pyro, and Sniper. Heavy uses fist weapons and he's slow and tanky, so against a boss like her yes he can hit hard, but he's also a liability in that she heals when she hits you. Pyro has fire spells, and that's fine and dandy, but she does eventually target them and Heavy has to protect them, cause Malenia is Malenia. Scout also moves fast, and can hit her, but Malenia is Malenia, and she will kill him before anyone can react. So Sniper, someone who stands back and takes shots, is perfect for this, and deals most of the damage and lands many status effects on her with some special arrows he made. But Malenia knows this, and after they beat her first phase, and she becomes an avatar of rot, she singles out Sniper, and, well.
Tumblr media
However, after his corpse is thrown on the ground. He refuses to die. He has one last job to do, and snipers dont give up. He becomes an avatar of rot, and for the brief period of time he's got left, he's going to kill this bitch so the others can get home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His eyes are rotten, the moths are eating him alive, and the rot is spreading throughout his body, but him and Scout work together, they've got to finish her before anyone else dies.
When Malenia finally dies, Sniper collapses, more than half of him is rotted, and it's spreading fast. Scout, Heavy, and Pyro say their final words to him, and Sniper says goodbye.

Idril Stormsbane (edited for proofreading, a few things I forgot to add, and pictures)
Figured I’d go ahead and introduce my tarnished.
Tumblr media
Idril Stormsbane is a classic sword-and-board strength build who keeps getting mixed up in mage business. A solid and dependable sort with an amazing poker face. She gives off the vibe of a thug with a boxing glove where her brain should be, but that’s not true -- she is of perfectly average intelligence. Sometimes she can use this to her advantage (Seluvis learned this the hard way).
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Generally a bit grim, or at least politely distant. But she does have a soft spot for people genuinely in need of help. She’ll go to rather impressive lengths to help the unfortune souls she meets along the road, all while grumbling about how she doesn’t have time for this.
Began her journey as a vagabond knight. She returned to the Lands Between more or less for lack of any better prospects, then took Melina’s accord. It was the only decent thing to do, really, she did owe Melina for fishing her body out of the ravine under the Chapel of Anticipation.
Came to the decision to defy the Golden Order almost accidentally. After hearing Roderika’s story and finding out he full extent of what was going on in Stormveil, she set out to kill Godrick.
Tumblr media
She succeeded, gaining both a Great Rune and the attention of Margit and his Night’s Cavalry. So now it’s do or die.
Lost her right eye to Ranni’s projection of Rennala. To Ranni’s eternal credit, she waited a whole twenty-four hours before she started making “twins” jokes.
Tumblr media
Backstory: A second-generation Tarnished who served under Radagon as a dragon slayer in the Second Liurnian War. She has vague memories of one of her parents being a Drake Knight, and is pretty sure they hail from the Badlands, but everything prior to her first death is pretty fuzzy.
Her first death involved a Carian dragon knight and a lot of glintstone fire. Her teens and the bulk of her twenties were spent in the meatgrinder that was the Second Liurnian War, during which she took the dragon communion. Like many of her comrades, she was incensed when Radagon ended the war by marrying the Witch Queen that they had all been assured was wicked to the core and an existential threat to the Golden Order.
Being banished a few years later, by her former commander no less, was simply salt in the wound. By the time of Godfrey’s banishment, she was already thoroughly disillusioned with the Golden Order. As she left the Lands Between alongside her fellow Tarnished, she swore to never again be a pawn of the demigods.
Relationships: Hit it off well with Blaidd, then almost rage-quit when she fought her way to Caria Manor and found out who her friend actually worked for. In her defense, she spent her formative years immersed in anti-Carian propaganda. Eventually swallowed her pride and agreed to work for Ranni, because it was that or back the Volcano Manor. She’s since warmed up to Ranni, but she doesn’t quite trust her. She’s not catching feelings, definitely not.
Tumblr media
Millicent is without exception the best person she has ever met. She will fight you on this. Gowry’s dog is the bane of her existence.
Spends a lot of time in the Bestial Sanctum with Gurranq. Neither of them are particularly talkative, but he seems to appreciate the company. Idril has repented of her past as a dragon slayer, and often stays in the barrow to watch the dragonlings from a respectful distance.
Would’ve adopted Roderika if Hewg hadn’t beat her to it. Basically did adopt Rya and Boc.
Gideon is up to something. She’s not sure what, but she’ll puzzle it out eventually.
She likes Rogier okay, but she’s trying very hard not to learn anything about what he, Fia, and D used to get up to. It’s creepy, and she wants no part in it.
During her training with Sellen, she meant to say “yes ma’am” but somehow it came out “yes mum.” This has happened more than once. Sellen has never let her forget it.
Tumblr media
She would get along great with Morgott if they ever stopped trying to kill each other. They’re both curmudgeons with an iron sense of duty.
Vyke was something of a personal idol to her, although she never had a chance to meet him prior to her banishment.
Had Melina’s number from day one. She knows a stone cold badass when she sees one, the mild-mannered maiden act isn’t fooling anyone.
Equipment: Wears a modified Mausoleum Knight’s set and a Redmane soldier’s helm. Mains a cold-infused (courtesy of Ranni) zweihander. Also carries a Carian Knight’s sword (from Moongrum, carried in memory of a worthy opponent), a kite shield (just in case), a demi-human queen’s staff (because she might need Carian Phalanx someday), and the Clawmark Seal (so she can use glintstone breath). Really though, the zweihander is where it’s at.

Where is my Carian Boss Fight Miyazaki?
It just dawned on me that Rennala, Queen of the Carians, doesn't cast a single carian or glintblade spell during the entire boss fight. Think about it, the Carian's fighting style is defined by the fact that they combine blade and magic together. And yet Rennala is pretty much useless at melee range.
Sure, she has some fancy tricks with her staff but it is far from what the game tells us the Carian Knights are capable of doing. I got so hyped the first time I read the Carian Knight Sword's description:
"Weapon of knights sworn to Carian royalty.
These knights' swords could serve as catalysts, letting them wield sorcerous battle skills. Despite numbering fewer than twenty, this power made them a match for even the champions of gold in battle."
But the closest we ever got to that was Loretta.
Now I am not saying I don't like Rennala or Loretta I love them both, but I want Ranni's badass grandma kicking the crap out of everyone in the DLC with some sick sword and glintblade combos.

—In regards to your reblog about the Radahn headcanon and my statement about it being lore-inaccurate—
Sorry, I should have elaborated on my comment, but I didn’t want to bother anybody with my lore-mania, but since you’ve addressed it directly, please allow me to explain what I meant!
That headcanon is cool but based on incorrect details, I’m afraid, and here’s why. (I will cite all sources below)
Astel landed in the Lands Between ages before Radahn even conquered the stars. He was a malformed star (meteor) that crashed down and leveled the Eternal City…that is Nokron. Nokron, I’m sure you know, is that starry city we find hidden underground. This city, as well as Nokstella, appears to be the home of a race of people called the Nox. It’s hinted that the Numen and the Nox both came from these cities. Queen Marika herself and all of the Black Knives are Numen, by the way.
So anyway, it’s said that long ago, the Nox ”invoked the ire of the Greater Will” and were punished by being buried underground, hidden away from the world. The being that specifically did the “burying” was Astel. He actually used the gravity meteors from the same sect of magic that Radahn learned to do it. The reason why Radahn was able to learn this magic is because of Astel. When Astel originally landed, a race of beings known as the Onyx/Alabaster Lords rose up. They resided primarily in Sellia, where Radahn travelled in his youth to learn gravity magic from them. This is directly stated. I will cite it.
Going back to Astel, it seems he isn’t alone in the race of ”meteors” or falling stars. The Fallingstar beasts are likely linked to “Astels” which we can deduce from a certain outside source. Allow me to introduce the Antlion!
Tumblr media
So it’s believed that these are the insects that Astel and the Fallingstar beasts are based off of. The one you see on the left is ”Astel” and the one in the top left is the ”Fallingstar beast.” In the real world, you’re seeing a fully grown Antlion and a Larva version. The little ”craters” in the bottom corner are a key characteristic of this insect. They dig little hollows, but notice the similarities? Pretty cool!
Furthermore, the Elden Beast itself…the vassal beast of the Greater Will itself, is another falling star. It was a golden star sent to the Lands Between ages ago. So does this mean that the Greater Will is comfortable with using falling stars to do its bidding if necessary? Most likely. Astel and the Elden Beast are good indicators of this. The people of Nokron did rebel after all, likely by creating the Finger-slayer blade, the hidden treasure of Nokron that Ranni wants. That weapon and the Nox awaiting a new god was blasphemy to the Golden Order. So Astel was sent to bury them, and he’s lingered in the Lands Between ever since. The Fallingstar beasts were also all there before Radahn’s death.
So what was Radahn holding back? Simple. The “normal” stars and a meteor. When he dies, the regular stars resume their movement and a single meteor crashes down, opening up the gate to…guess where…Nokron, The Eternal City. Coincidence? I think not!
Why was Radahn holding back the stars? For two apparent reasons. Number one, the telescope we get in the game tells us that the Golden Order ”fettered the fate of the Carians.” Now the Carians, Rennala and all the astrologers…have their fate writ in the stars. As long as the stars remain in movement, fate will be decided by them. However, the Golden Order halted that fate? That means they stopped the stars. Who did that specifically? Radahn. Radahn is a general for the Golden Order after all, so doing something like this, that would stop the Carians from doing anything…questionable or rebellious in regards to the Golden Order, would be absolutely reasonable. The other reason mentioned for Radahn stopping the stars is to hold Sellia secure. Sellia was his training ground from his youth after all, and it’s likely that he’d want it safe. Who’d he want it safe from? My guess would be the Nox. There are Nox assassins and swords-people in Sellia when we run through there, as well as a significant lack of Alabaster Lords. Coincidence? I think not! It’s noted many times that the Nox are angry and bitter over what happened to them via Astel/The Golden Order. I’d imagine they’d want revenge. So could they have been sneaking out from underground and harming the very Lords that possessed the destructive power that Astel used to bury them? Maybe. Maybe. Could the meteor Radahn was holding back that directly opens up the gate to Nokron have something to do with this? Possibly. This is more theoretical, but Radahn holding Sellia secure could very well be tied into the history between the Golden Order and the Eternal City.
Now finally, this does tie into Ranni’s fate. We don’t know if Radahn was deliberately holding back his sister’s fate knowingly, but he still was nonetheless. That’s why she needs you to kill him. Not only will this set her fate as a chosen Carian/Lunar Princess back into motion, but it will also open up the gate into Nokron where she can send you and Blaidd to get the Finger-slayer blade. The weapon she will use to kill the Two Fingers and end the Golden Order. You’ll hear Iji have this revelation in game if you talk to him about Radahn.
So there you have it. Radahn locked the stars in place for the Golden Order and also somehow protected Sellia during that time, perhaps from the angry Nox. There’s no apocalyptic meteor shower waiting to happen, and the Astels/Fallingstar beasts are ancient creatures that once had ties to the Golden Order. Radahn uses their power for similar purposes. That’s why I said that head-canon contradicted the lore. Sadly, Radahn’s lore has been very misconstrued by the fandom lately and I’m not sure why. I keep having long conversations about it, so as you can see…I came prepared, haha. I hope this clears everything up! Cheers :)

“Jerren. Now, that's a name I haven't heard for a while. Before taking up the banner of General Radahn, he was a guest of the Carian royal family. An expert swordsman, to be sure, but ever the eccentric. No surprise he'd get wrapped up in some festival. Oh, no, wait... How did I not see it before? I ought to retire as war counsellor for such a gross oversight! Let me explain. The fate of the Carian royal family is guided by the stars. As is the fate of Lady Ranni, first heir in the Carian royal line. But General Radahn is the conqueror of the stars. Who stood up to the swirling constellations, halting their movement in a smashing victory. And so, if General Radahn were defeated, the stars would once again resume their movement. As would Lady Ranni's destiny. Perhaps, even, revealing the elusive path. That leads to Nokron.”
I will post this without commentary, because I am only ONE person running that blog who finished Elden Ring quite literally only yesterday and I have absolutely no clue what is lore contradicting or not, so I am taking the headcanons at face value. If the submitter of the headcanon wants to defend their headcanon, so be it. I am keeping out of this. I won't take the headcanon down however.

Who does Vino like/is on good terms with and who is on the hate list? What do you enjoy most about them and their story?
Sorry this took a bit to answer I’ve been having a crazy week ;; sorry it’s kinda long
Well for being on good terms with/ people they like, obviously Dei (belongs to @voidcr0wn) since they spent most of their time working to make sure he ended up as Elden Lord.
They like a lot of the inhabitants of the rountable but it really just varies between them all.
They like D, Rogier, Hewg, Roderika, Corhyn, Diallos, and Nepheli. They feel bad for most of them, and I doubt a lot of them know that Vino likes them since they never really talk to them.
Outside of the Roundtable they like Miriel, Iji, Blaidd, and Boggart. I’m sure there’s more random npcs they would be on good terms with but I’m still not entirely sure who all they’ve met.
Also the Demigods/bosses of the game uhhh post story, they like Radagon, but they’ve always just kinda respected him since they’re a Golden Order freak. They don’t hate Godrick if that counts for anything, they did find it kinda fucked up that Gostoc is just stomping on him after he gets beat so there’s that. Their interactions with Rennala are pretty limited but they would still like her, they have no reason not to. They helped fight Radahn and they feel bad for him. They have a lot of respect for Godfrey even if they are kinda scared of him and uhhhh well they definitely have feelings about Morgott… they fought Margit, thought there was something very interesting about him and in usual Vino fashion decided to keep an eye on him until they went back to Leyndell and met Morgott… anyway to make a long story short Vino is his consort know so yeah needless to say they like each other…
Oh and they will violently enforce a rule of kindness to anyone that tries to hurt the nomadic merchants.
And characters on the hate list. Absolutely top of the list if Gideon, sure there are characters that are far worse than him (and Vino knows it) but they just really can’t stand him. When they’re in the roundtable hold they’ll just harass him, without saying anything cuz again they don’t talk a whole lot, but it’s annoying none the less and they end up being the one that kills him…
Vino also hates the dung eater and fia for I think obviously reasons…
They also really don’t like Varre, it has nothing to do with his personality and more that he offers to help Dei like a maiden would and I wanna say it jealousy, jealousy adjacent? Something like that they just don’t want anyone else getting in the way of what Vino sees as “the plan”
Not a fan of Seluvis or Sellen and really doesn’t like Shabriri…
Demigod wise they hate Mohg, for Miquella reasons, they’re probably really uncomfortable with Rykard and they don’t entirely trust Ranni (Rykard and Ranni I’d say are both mostly because of Vino’s golden order obsession but still)
Yeah! I’ll probably have to reblog this later and be like “oh yeah and this guy too” but for now yeah there’s a not at all comprehensive list of character stuffs. But if you want any specific characters or what me to elaborate please ask!
And what I enjoy most about Vino, I guess that they aren’t the main character really, I think it opens more options for their story to me instead of just having to have them end up as Elden Lord. I also personally like the mix of holy and madness they got going on (even if it was what ended up killing them)

So only two out of the seven Walking Mausoleums don’t have bells, meaning you can duplicate a maximum of five Shardbearer Remembrances, and I’m thinking of which ones I want:
Morgott: Definitely; I’m pretty sure I’m gonna do Dex/Arc on a NG+, meanwhile the Omen-Bairn could work well with my current build
Fortissax: Also definitely since I want both spells. Yes I know the status from Death Lightning won’t do me any good since I don’t PvP, but that element on a firestorm-type spell would still be useful
Malenia: Absolutely, I know I will not feel like fighting her more than once
Maliketh: Maybe. I want the spell, and while I figure I’d go with Godslayer + Blackflame incantations if I went Str/Fth, his sword might still be fun
Fire Giant: Also maybe, same reasoning as Maliketh re: the whip
Rennala: Been arguing with myself over this one, though lately I’m leaning toward just the staff since I know I’ll fight her on NG+ and Ranni’s moon spell just seems better
Rykard: Not sure. I know I want the Rancor since I’m doing Int/Fth (past 50/50 does the Death Staff outclass the Gelmir for lava spells even with the latter’s boost to them?), but the sword could be fun for those absurd self-heal setups people talk about for Str/Fth
Mohg: Strong possibility. Same pattern, trying to fill out my spell list but also interested in the Arc weapon for next playthrough
And with it written out like this, it looks like yeah I’m gonna forgo Rennala, so that’s four Shardbearer’s and three others that’ll all give me a good amount of things to play around with later

MARAAAAAAAA
Hi! 👋👋
I come to bring you an ask to fuel your brainrot:
Do you think any of the DnD HaT characters would be buddies with any Elden Ring ones? Ocs and hcs are welcome too! :D
BIIIIIM!! THE DOOR WAS OPEN! Now I gotta buy new hinges. T . T
Hi, hi, thank you for the fuel! <3 I'm sure they would. The dndhat gang is pretty lovable and they'd definitely hit it off with the ER cast.
~
Edgin would definitely be buds with Godwyn, I think. Godwyn seems to me like the shining sun of the Golden Order, and I believe he would like singing and generally having fun. Holga would join them sometimes, thought she'd mostly chat with Fia/Fortissax and Lansseax (and really only after she learns that they are dragons).
Holga would also hit it off with Malenia and Radahn, probably more with Radahn. Both demigods would occasionally try and talk about tactics and whatnot, and Holga would just stare at them blankly. What use are tactics when you're skilled enough to 1v10? Just fight until you win, stupid.
Kira would be friends with Miquella and Finlay. I think Kira would bring out Miq's mischievous side, and Fin would be running behind them, complaining but actually liking the triviality of it all.
Simon would get adopted by Rennala. And I think he'd grow close to Ranni, joining her little gang, despite her doing her usual "oh, noes, I'm so cold and evil" facade. Simon is too smart and lovable for Ranni to manage to keep the evil act for too long.
Doric would be pals with Melina and Blaidd. No, not just because I want my fav characters to be friends. I think all three enjoy not being in the spotlight of their friend groups, and would probably just like watching the chaos from the sidelines. All three are the mom-friends.
Xenk would be friends with Godwyn and Miquella. All of them work for the betterment of their regions, so they'd bond over that probably.
Sofina is hard to pick someone for... I don't think she's as sadistically evil as Mohg is, and Marika is too regretful for Sofina to like her. Maybe she'd be friends with the younger Marika, the one that was conquering and stepping on everyone to reach godhood.
And Forge is best friends with Patches, I think there's nothing to explain here.
~
Thanks again!! Always love thinking about the dndhat gang!
