GMMTV 2024 Part 1 Reaction

When I watched Part 1 I was barely into series and watched certain trailers that I thought might be interesting but this time I'm planning on watching it live and am so into watching shows again.

The actors I'm actively following right now are Fourth and Gemini, along with some Phuwin (and by extension PondPhuwin) but none of them are getting ship work. So I'm mostly just gonna be there for the stories and concepts we get (though I'm curious about the GemPrim series and what Fourth is gonna be in). I hope I'm really excited by some concept (like The Warp Effect) or a cast/ship (like a surprise one).

Ended up waking up at 5:30am while the live started at 6:20am and the first trailer released at 6:35am lol

It’s fine tho bc my semester is over, i was afraid it’d happen before im done my exam or worse, on exam day.

Oh, Yfind project which looks for plots for novels and series? and some fandom name in Thailand?

Title: Ossan’s Life trailer

Pair: Earth/Mix

Did I know about this? Yes

Thoughts: omg? I didn’t realize Earth is the one who’s being pursued by Mix and the boss character, I thought it’d be Mix! this is fun. oh, putting on someone’s shoe scene. I finally know what the show is about because of The Conversation Podcast’s episode on it yesterday and this seems in line with the Japanese version. Very comedic, so we’ll see how it goes.

Title: Leap Day

Pair: Dew/Pahn, Pond & Gun

Did I know about this? No

Thoughts: Could be interesting but I’m not super into it yet because it doesn’t seem super developed yet beyond the concept of “people around them die.”

Title: The Heart Killers

Pair: Khao/First, Joong/Dunk

Did I know about this? Yes, specifically some sort of KhaoFirst series directed by Joni

Thoughts: I’M SO EXCITED! I was watching the whole trailer while intrigued and giggling. It’s definitely something I want from KhaoFirst, something a little risqué and has some actual plot while it’s different from anything JoongDunk have done so far, so i’d be curious to see how it goes. I hope the actual plot ends up good ahh. I’ll try not to get too attached to the mock trailer bc things will probably be different but I really like it. The song was covered in My School President but the vibe is different here.

After Rewatch: I definitely understood more after the rewatch because on my first watch I was so excited that I definitely missed some scenes and dialogue there loll I'm soooo excited for criminal killer brothers Khao and Joong, tattooist First who is trying to get dirt on them to clear his own car debt record, and Dunk who has been unleashed upon Joong to distract him from KhaoFirst in exchange for a car. KhaoFirst were my pull when I first watched it and they still are because I fucking love to see them on screen but I definitely got the JoongDunk thing more in this watch. Love to see Dunk be wild (kissing Joong when he's threatening him etc) and bold and actually take action this time while Joong is the one who is evasive, a different dynamic than their usuals. I... will try to enjoy this one regardless of plot to be honest lol because people were like meh on the Only Friends storyline. I think it'll help knowing that it's a Romcom with a side of drama rather than an assassin/crime plot with side of romance. I'm also not looking forward to KhaoFirst and JoongDunk's fandoms possibly fighting based on like screentime/acting prowess/"better treatment" and favouritsm/etc. but hopefully it'll turn out okay. I actually don't mind that KhaoFirst got a 2-pair main lead instead of a solo pair show because the pairs seem very connected with each other. Seems like it's inspired by Taming of the Shrew and 10 Things I Hate About You rather than a novel. I wonder if I should watch 10TIHAY just to see what references and such they put in.

A few hours later and I just watched 10 Things I Hate About You lol I get the "date my older brother so that we can date" thing now. I suppose Dunk's character is the "wild" character who can handle his brother Joong's character.

Title: Friendshit Forever

Pair: messy

Did I know about this? No

Thoughts: Mook and Pat and New and Boun. It Could be good but idk if i’ll watch it. Pat playing a character who is a shitty friend, a la PSIHY. Title reminds me of Dead Friend Forever. I will say the best part of the trailer was the first few seconds when I was wondering if we’d get a Pat/Mook GL.

Title: Perfect 10 Liners

Pair: Force/Book, Perth/Chimon, girl too many

Did I know about this? No

Thoughts: It could be good but I don’t care about any of the actors or pairings in this. PerthChimon were the most intriguing in this though, I liked the parallel on”Are you dating anyone?” Directed by New Siwat, yeah dunno about this one tbh. bruh so many people on stage, were they all actually there in the trailer? There are a bunch of side BL couples in addition to the main 3? crazy fr. and they couldn’t throw in a side GL either?

Apparently this is gonna be 30 eps with 10 eps each of ForceBook, MarkJunior, and PerthChimon... gonna take months and months to air fr, meaning stuff could have to wait while this show keeps airing... agh. or maybe this could prevent another rerun so who knows.

Title: Us

Pair: gorgeous girls who i don’t know the names of. Emi/Bonnie

Did I know about this? I knew about a possible Emi/Bonnie GL but I didn’t know who they were. hm Us, did we expect this novel as well, I vaguely remember having seen this novel rumored to be a series.

Thoughts: GL? These GLs being about your brother/sister’s girlfriends. omg she’s the one pairing the postcards? ahhh GL KISS IN TRAILER! Oh I’m excited and also love the short haired girl’s face sooooo much. Another melodramatic GL a la Pluto, I’m looking forward to it! Is this by the same author as GAP/Pluto/Blank? People always mention how problematic her novels are and somebody mentioned they don’t like the source material for this show either but I love a little problematic romance, so we shall see. Fon is the director.

After Rewatch: Went to MDL to double-check that the girl with cropped hair is Emi (she is! beautiful!) and the rights to this were brought like 2 years ago or what? Over a year ago at least since the comments have been waiting for announcement since then. Dang the acquirement rumour was on r/GMMTV back in February last year, so I probably saw it back then. The plot is quite straightforward, seems like it's focused way more on interpersonal relationships. Love the moody, indie nature of the angsty scenes but then they're so charming and bright when they're like happy and together! Also very happy to see like passionate kissing and romantic physical affection between the women even in the trailer, I'm hoping they have great romantic chemistry in the show. Doubt we'll get this one before 2025 though since it's directed by P'Fon and she's directing High School Frenemy right now and also has Scarlet Heart TH to do. I doubt GMMTV would air 3 GLs in a year already lol, so I'm hoping at least Pluto comes out this year and US is one of the first things out last year at the latest.

Title: Hide & Sis

Pair: ensemble and messy, focused on sisters

Did I know about this? No

Thoughts: PSIHY flashbacks. Snap25 is in charge of this, which makes sense. Very vibey, eerie, hope it’s good. Focus on morally corrupt women and sisters yay. Pepper/Lookjun are dating IRL right? hehe cute

Title: Thame Po | Heart That Skips A Beat

Pair: Est/William

Did I know about this? That there is expected to be an EstWilliam

Thoughts: Oh, a BL? So many GMMTV people who I don’t know these days. Another idol BL similar to Only Boo but more mature ig? Is this EstWilliam? I’ve seen so many people excited for their BL but idk their faces lol. It’s a Parbdee project? Exciting. I like the vibes of it. I hope they do the celebrity/commoner aspect well, I like an idol romance in theory (and in fic lol) but I don't think I've yet watched one that I've enjoyed.

After Rewatch: I randomly started seeing Est and William posts start popping up on r/GMMTV a few weeks ago and then this master thread was created for it as well. I didn't know who they were (apparently a LYKN boy and a new GMMTV actor with side roles in the past) so I was just mildly curious but it's fun that this came true. When the trailer first started, I didn't know this guy was Est, so I was like oh nooo I don't wanna watch a show about not being able to find jobs and being a loser or something lol but seems like he finds his gig early enough into the show. The trailer is even better on the 2nd watch when I know what's going on lol. The background music really suits it, it stood out to be during the first watch as well. The trailer is 4 minutes and seems fairly fleshed out, I wonder... if we can hope that it's one of the first ones to film from the 2nd half? It's done by Parbdee who have a few projects this year but the director is Mui Aticha who doesn't have anything else lined up for the year since Beauty Newbie? So maybe she can work on this soon? Crazy resume though, The Gifted, F4, Girl From Nowhere, etc. I wonder how she'll do with this one though since it's a more grounded romance like Beauty Newbie (which didn't receive good feedback rip).

Thame is William and Po is Est and from the characters + how people referred to them during the conference after the trailer, seems like they're going for WilliamEst? Interesting because everybody on the subreddit was just reading calling them EstWilliam lol I enjoy them switching it up a bit to play with expectations and cast based on the characters rather than which order people think the people themselves should be. WilliamEstWilliam would've been fun too. The next day and Est has posted pictures with #WilliamEst. Funny to have William-Williamer-Williamest.

I hope the mood and vibe of it being calmer and romantic and the drama from the celebrity idol life remains true, I don't want it to become more light-hearted and comedic, nor do I want it to become Extra Angsty or anything.

Side note but every time I think of the title Thame-Po, I think of the song Thaam Lo even though the pronunciation isn't the same.

WilliamEst ship: Okay it's the night of the 24th, so it's been like a day but I'm quite into the ship itself idkkk man, I get why people on the gmmtv sub were going crazy about them for the past month. The thing is they're like so shy on stage when talking about the show omg, I enjoy seeing a ship being shy and unsure when first introduced to the public and they haven't quite figured out how to work everything out yet, it's cute. I also have learned that William is a 05 liner while Est is 01 and I need them to have the same age gap in the show pleaseee, I love a younger pursuer character for real. I know Thame calls Po Phi in the trailer though, so we know William plays a younger character at least

Title: Break-Up Service

Did I know about this? No

Thoughts: Fun concept, I’ll wait to hear if it’s good before I watch.

Title: Revamp: The Undead Story

Pair: Boun/Prem

Did I know about this? Yes

Thoughts: Ah, trailer for the BounPrem vampire story and it seems more serious and sinister than the campy nature of the other vampire BL: Golden Blood. Kinda reminds me of Midnight Museum actually. It looks good, I’ll probably give it a watch.

Title: Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist

Pair: Mark/Ohm

Did I know about this? Yes (Mark was hinting at it)

Thoughts: Two BLs back to back? Uni BL with dentistry student Mark based on Jittitain novel. It’s not super intriguing based on the more exciting stories but I need a good easy-watching, cute, uni BL once in a while in between he heavier hits. So this could be that. The trailer just seems long-winded

Title: The Dark Dice

Pair: Gemini/Prim

Did I know about this? Yes

Thoughts: Ohh kinda reminds me of The Gifted and the trailer for Enigma. A high school show about them trapped in some game. Wish there were more girls in the cast though. Less romantic than I thought. I hope it’s good and not like Homeschool which has a Very Good trailer but didn’t get good reviews.

Title: The Ex-Morning

Pair: Krist/Singto

Did I know about this? Yes, KS were shooting mock trailer with P’Lit

Thoughts: girl I was already like hehe KristSingto as expected BUT THEY ATE EXES!!!!! I love exes-to-lovers and it’s kinda funny since it parallels their ship work. huhhh wtf was that random ass car accident? hah I’m excited for this too. We knew the director is P’Lit who directed SOTUS.

After Rewatch: I thought it parallels KS's journey of Singto leaving GMMTV then him coming back and doing a BL with Krist again (kinda of exes-to-lovers if you squint) while the guy-fucks-up-and-is-crucified-on-the-internet could be parallel Krist's journey and turns out P'Aof wrote the script based on Krist Singto themselves, that's wild. The university days drinking pink milk really gives me a visceral reaction. I LOVE the look on Krist's face when he looks back at Singto in the towel and then quickly turns have his face like O.O it's very cute, I giggled the first time too. They seem to show stuff toward the end like with Krist winning the award again and Singto deciding to leave and also this random ass accident (seems like people are trying to kill Krist? What with the random motorcycle guy as well). I don't tend to like too much info in a trailer (over 4 minutes?!) but maybe if it means that we'll get it as one of the earlier part 2 shows because the script is written, I'll take it. I don't know if that's the case though because Aof is overseeing/scriptwriting and he's a busy man (though Director Lit doesn't have other shows I don't think)

Title: Scarlet Heart Thailand

Pair: Tu and ?Win?

Did I know about this? no

Thoughts: Not really a trailer, as they sometimes arent with these remakes. Scot’s are all pretty big hitters, especially Tu and Win, along with some people I’m looking forward to like Fourth, Phuwin, Tay, Nanon. Directed by Fon. I don’t know what this show is about at all though.

I'm hoping for a large ensemble cast show centering women (PSIHY and Ploy’s Yearbook to a lesser extent, both by Snap25) or some mystery/sff (Homeschool, Gifted): Yes

My expectations were basic and based on some very well-believed rumours, so I'm not surprised they're correct.

Actor Attendance

Observations:

Interesting to go from watching The Warp Effect where I knew pretty much everybody to these trailers where there are so many people whom I don’t know, including main actors for BLs and GLs (Est/William, Emi/Bonnie). Good chance to get to know them if the shows turn out well though!

On that note, it's always interesting when they choose completely new ships to be the main couple of a show, again like Us and Thame-Po. This also means a lot of the familiar main or side BL couples are in ensemble shows like Perfect 10 Liners (there were so many people in that, I couldn't even keep track of them all).

High School: 1

University: 2

Non-School: 10 (or 11 with Ossan's Love)

Very few school shows comparatively, just 3/13, less than a quarter. That's exciting, I'm especially glad that being out of school doesn't just mean office worker shows lol

The puns never end: Friendshit, Revamped, Hide & Sis, Thame-Po (Tempo - 50% pun), The Ex-Morning. Hilarious that there are more shows with puns in their names than school shows.

Overall:

More shows grabbed my interest in this round I think. It seems like a more somber/serious set of trailers than part 1, which is cool.

Also, most of the trailers seem well-made, not necessarily in terms of story because they don't have full plots and stories yet, but in terms of production/quality.

I just hope the scriptwriting for these shows are strong, especially because they're dealing with interesting concepts like idol romance and exes-to-lovers. The concepts are soooo good but bad screenwriting or a story that doesn't deal with the interesting aspects can make the show fall flat.

I'm also glad that there is a mix of old ships, new ships, and totally new faces for these BLs and GL Like we have shows with established main pairs like KhaoFirst-Joongdunk and Forcebook-PerthChimon in ensemble shows, we have interesting situations like KristSingto which is a returning main couple and BounPrem which is an old series but revamped ;) for their GMMTV debut, but then we have a ship like MarkOhm where Mark has been in multiple shows and ships but he's leading in a series with somebody completely different. Then we have Emi-Bonnie and WilliamEst who are new faces as GMMTV leads and their ships are completely brand new.

In Part 1, it was similar in that we had stuff like main roles for existing ships with OffGun - The Trainee and GeminiFourth - My Love Mix-Up, ensemble with existing ships (We Are - PondPhuwin etc), had existing actors in new ships like OhmLeng in Kidnap or JossGawin in My Golden Blood, we had new ships like GreatInn in Wandee Goodday,

All in all, a good part 2, I'm glad I watched it live, it was exciting and I'm looking forward to these shows (though I'm not holding my breath though lol because part 1 shows still gotta be released). I really like these showcases and I'm kinda glad that now it's split into 2 because I get a new one every 6-7 months instead of once a year haha

Actually no my main gripe: Where are all the women? Us, Hide & Sis, and Friendshit Forever seem to be the only shows that focus on more than one woman and the BLs basically have no women, or possibly 1 female side character. Why can't they have side GL pairings or multiple women in the same show, truly what the heck? I hope that more women are cast in the shows as they start writing scripts and such, like a side GL in Us or a side GL in Perfect 10 Liners among all the BL pairs.

S4E6 “Yellow Fever” - Dean gets an illness that makes him scared of everything but also I think there’s some coughing if I recall

S4E8 “Wishful Thinking” - Dean food poisoning (tw emeto)

S5E12 “Swap Meat” - Sam switches bodies with a teen who is allergic to gluten (?) (tw emeto)

S5E15 “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid” - loved ones are rising from the dead to be reunited with their families, however after a certain amount of time they “go bad” and get sick before turning on them

S5E19 “Hammer of the Gods” - I remember hearing J/ared P/adalecki was sick during this episode and you can sort of hear it in his voice. It’s subtle tho.

****S5E21 “Two Minutes to Midnight” - episode opens with Sam and Dean hunting for Pestilence, the fourth horseman of the apocalypse. As they get nearer to him they get sick, feeling faint, phlegmy coughing, etc. It’s honestly wild. But also (tw emeto other characters, not them)

S6E5 “Live Free or Twi-Hard” - Dean turns into a vampire and in the end v*mits out the vampireness??? (Tw emeto)

S7E?? - One of the episodes where Castiel is a leviathan; specifically the one where he stands there and black goo comes out of his mouth eyes and ears - Misha Collins had a stomach bug or food poisoning or something while filming

***S8E19-21 “Taxi Driver” thru “Great Escapist” - Sam is battling trials against Hell or something and he gets sick and develops a cough. Dean comes at him with soho and a thermometer and it’s all v domestic and classic sick episode

S10E5 “Fan Fiction” - NOT a sick episode but I love this one. 10/10 recommend.

——please note I stopped watching during S11 cuz I feel like it went downhill. Personal opinion sorry, but probably there’s episodes in the middle here that have illness or whump——

S13E13 “Devils Bargain” - Lucifer is in a weakened state

S15E10 “Heroes Journey” - Sam and Dean’s luck runs out. This whole episode Sam has a cold and is sneezing and such

At some point the kid, Jack (?), I think gets sick but idk what season or episode that is if someone else can weigh in.

I would say that Strange Visitor was actually the first fic I ever posted anywhere, and the first one I'd ever completed as well. I'd done lots and lots of writing before that point but honestly it was almost all rp XD I had tried to write a few things before SV but never really kept the mojo, probably because i didn't post them haha

And YEAH LOL I've actually never seen Cowboys vs Aliens XD can you believe it? Hahah SV took a lot of inspiration from the movie The Fourth Kind, if you've seen that. I've had Cowboys vs Aliens on my watch list forever tho XD I really gotta get around to it

First off: How are you? How is your day? Hope you're doing fine and if not, I'm sorry and I hope everything starts going according to your liking.

You can call me Undertaker, I'm 19 and I use she/her pronouns. I've short dyed hair with an undercut, I'm tall(?) and chubby and I wear glasses. I'm an Aries, a Slytherin (yeah I don't know if this info can help you but I'll add it anyway) and my mbti personality is INTP-T.

I love animals, supernatural or not (Cerberus best boi), listening to music, watching anime, telling bad jokes (I can go from dad jokes to black humour in less than a minute) and sleeping.

I love food but I can't cook. (I mean- I'm not as bad as Solomon! My food is still edible and it doesn't taste that bad but I'm only able to prepare easy dishes without burning the kitchen down). This brings us to an important part of my personality: I'm stubborn as fuck and I can't say no to challenges. For example if the food I cook doesn't come out as I hope, or if I'm full but there's still food on my plate, I'll eat it anyway cause my mama didn't raise a coward or a quitter.

I've a good sense of preservation, I love analysing every situation I come across, but sometimes I'm impulsive and I don't think about the consequences. I've also anxiety and anger issues, but I act both like the mom friend and the clown of the group, meaning I can't fucking order something on my own but if one of my friends is too shy or anxious to do it for themselves I can order them the whole menu.

I also like staring at and holding weapons, because I enjoy the feeling of power they give me. I'm fascinated by poisons and I'd love to study potions and spells. Furthermore I may be slightly greedy with what belongs to me... And even though my self-esteem is a negative number, if Lucifer would start treating me like an inferior being, I'd start looking at him like HE is the inferior one... Because it pisses me off and I don't care how powerful he is : I'd still kick his feathered ass anytime.

One of the things you notice about The Satanic Temple pretty quickly is that "slander" just means "things we don't like, especially if they're true", and of course their fourth tenet about "freedom to offend" only ever goes in the one direction

But this "the TV show writers and network should apologize!!" stuff is straight out of the Catholic League. Bill Donahue is embarrassed for them.

Imagine enshrining "the freedom to offend" in your religion, parading around proud of being legally recognized as a religion

...then being so upset about how free speech is actually understood by the law that parody is something that people "get away with."

As we've pointed out before, that episode of the Paramount+ TV show "Evil" was actually rather generous given the actual origins of The Satanic Temple as a Spectacle Films project that just got out of hand.

It was an especially charitable episode given that the two owners of TST set up their T-shirt selling, intellectual property owning for profit corporation United Federation of Churches LLC and years later pursued nonprofit church status for a different entity, "The Satanic Temple (Inc)", after it already had an entity with IRS-approved nonprofit status: Reason Alliance Ltd.

It's just that normal nonprofits have to say where their money is coming and going. And churches don't.

We can't know their hearts, but Lucien Greaves and Cevin Soling probably realized that being so open about turning around and sending money given to their nonprofit Reason Alliance to the for-profit corp United Federation of Churches LLC d/b/a The Satanic Temple would eventually raise some questions. But two entities named "The Satanic Temple" sharing the same website, HQ, and branding, neither one reporting its finances publicly? Maybe no one would notice.

By comparison, the TV show "Evil" ends up being extraordinarily charitable to their universe's "The New Ministry of Satan", all things considered.

In addition to "Evil" making sure their Baphomet statue was quite distinct from TST's Instagram prop, that may be why The Satanic Temple is unlikely to come after CBS or Paramount+ the same way it went after Netflix and Warner Bros.

Soling and Greaves don't actually want a news story that would draw attention to just what the hell they're doing with all of those front companies and all that damn money they keep bringing in.

Note: We're not going to link back to the Twitter conversation, even tho it is public, b/c the people having it mostly aren't anybody. It's just representative of where TST's core members are at this point, and the level of paranoia they're operating at.

Negative things about their chosen organization couldn't possibly be valid; it must be that some secret group of enemies is organizing against them, and they're beset on all sides, and it's SLANDER to point out stuff their glorious leaders said in the past. Etc.

It's funny how hypocritical they are about it, but it's also really sad, and ultimately, it's dangerous and harmful. And we hope everyone gets out without being hurt too badly or helping TST keep hurting others badly.

Den of Geek directly notes the similarities between "Graham Lucien" and LG in their recap. I haven't watched the episode, but it sure looks like a deliberate attempt to raise doubt about Greaves as a faith leader and TST as a legitimate religion.

i agree that they should apologize. This episode (haven’t watched any of the rest of the show) was some of the laziest writing i’ve ever endured. One episode felt like an eternity **tiniest of silver-linings** this show is so fucking cheesy, only a fool would take it seriously.

Oh wow. That was pretty bad. I would say it's clear this show will be cancelled and forgotten soon, but then again, "Duck Dynasty" was on the air for 11 seasons. Never underestimate the bad taste of the American viewing public.

This episode however was very frustrating. As soon as they said “new ministry of Satan” I was like oh boy. Then they showed the building and introduced the Graham Lucien Character and I was like “this feels like an attack”

so what animes have you seen already?

Oh boy! Not many tbh, I only really started watching it last winter when my roommate asked if I wanted to give it a try! I haven’t watched anything from any studio that did Visions (yet), but I wanna soon!

Animes I HAVE seen, in order:

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood — Aight so when roomie suggested we watch an anime, a friend who had seen a lot of them recommended this one to watch first as it was a good “starter anime”, and y’all idk if it’s just because it’s the first one I watched but I’ve still gotta call it my favorite one because y’all it’s SO FUCKING GOOD. Like that’s understatement of the century but I don’t have time to write an essay on why it’s so good lol just trust me it’s GOOD. 11/10s on EVERYTHING about it. Plot, characters, setting, everything. My one sadness is that I would not be good at writing fic for it lol.

Demon Slayer — YouTube AMVs and seeing it pop up on Netflix had us start this one next and y’all it’s probably the prettiest anime I’ve seen like ever, like the art style is chef’s kiss. Amazing story and AWESOME characters too, very good, 10/10 would recommend. I think I could write a decent fic for it if a plot ever came to me.

The Great Pretender — The only non-action/fight anime on the list, roomie and I tried it out because we figured we should see something different? It was on Netflix so we looked. It was good, clever writing, good characters got a little bit weird in the second season, particularly at the end, but overall it’s a decent watch. I could write fic for the shipping aspect but again, no plot ideas because the plot is fuckin weird.

Akame Ga Kill — Roommate had seen this before, recommended it to me. The characters were decent, setting was interesting! Pretty art style too, but I was like, verrrrry critical of the plot throughout the entire singular season lol, so take that as you will. Actually no yeah plot was kinda wack. My fave character deserved better tho.

Castlevania — Okay okay I know I know not an anime, but it’s a similar artstyle. (Also I think the game it’s based off of is a Japanese game?) Actually watched the first two seasons a while ago, but then watched the third and fourth with roommate. Y’all it’s REALLY good, literally everyone in the damn show is fucking hot and I’m jealous, I ship the throuple HARD hard. I think I could maybe write a decent fic for it if, again, I had any plot motivation lol

Trese — Again, cheating because not anime, but this one is still non-Western (Filipino) media and it’s glorious. I’ve never seen an episode of Supernatural but I feel that this show is like, what Supernatural wishes it could be. Another gorgeous artstyle and I’m so gay for the MC and the first season left me with so many questions so I really hope it gets another one! I gotta get around to reading the webcomic

D.Gray-Man — Okay this one is entirely the fault of @jasontoddiefor who got back into it and promptly dragged everyone he knew down with him, and I am so very glad he did because this is a fantastic— and I’d argue relatively underrated —series. Artstyle is gorgeous (certain characters be very hot), the character arcs are brilliant, I love all the characters, and the worldbuilding is so friggin creative, like I’d put it up there as another one of my faves. I actually did write a fic for this, but publishing a fic in an unfamiliar fandom is terrifying and bad for my anxiety and it’s gonna take me like five more years to work up the courage to do it again lol.

Sword Art Online — Currently watching right now with roommate. I heard some not very good things about it, but my roommate wanted to give it a try so I sat down and watched with them. Sure enough it’s been a case of half the time I’m flailing over the nice animation and how creative the worldbuilding is and the charm and potential all the characters have……………….. and then the other half of the time I’m banging my head against the wall repeatedly because it pulled some seriously stinky bullshit lol. So yeah watch it’s promising but also Suffer in not the good way.

Fire Force — Also currently watching! On my own this time, roommate already watched and recommended. This one is VERY good, like I am super into the plot and the setting and everything to do with the universe. Still getting into the characters and it’s taking a bit more time? So the watch is going slower than usual, but that’s alright! The entire premise makes up for it.

So that’s all the anime I’ve seen! I’ve also seen 2.5 Studio Ghibli movies and they are all JUST as good as people say they are (Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, and bits and pieces of Princess Mononoke) 1000/10 recommend.

You didn’t ask about the manga I’ve read but I’ll list them anyway! For the record I’m not a huge manga reader because my eyes find it hard to see the illustrations when everything is in different shades of black and white, it makes action scenes in particular really difficult to read, which is a problem when you usually like action plots

Demon Slayer — The anime isn’t complete yet and after the movie I wanted to know MORE so I hunted down the manga and binged it all. Y’ALL GOTTA READ IT IT’S STILL SO FUCKIN GOOD AND I’D DIE FOR SO MANY CHARACTERS I’M IN LOVE WITH SO MANY

D.Gray-Man — Same thing as Demon Slayer, the anime isn’t complete yet and neither is the manga BUT so I read the rest of what’s been written. Hoo hoo HOO I hope they animate more of it because the plots coming up are brilliant and I want it

My Hero Academia — Look, EVERYONE is yelling about this one and it trends like once a week and like five irl friends love it so I figured there was too much anime out but I had to know so I’d just skim the manga just to figure out what the fuck the hype was. It’s good, lol, I totally get the hype now, the strength is in the worldbuilding and a whole handful of extremely interesting yet surprisingly simple character types that work to drive the plot forward. There is so much potential here and I could definitely write fic for this but I am not touching that fandom with a ten foot pole and that’s coming from a Star Wars fan 😂

Yona of the Dawn — Currently reading this!!!! Ok so there’s a season of an anime out for this, I walked in to see my other roommate watching what was probably one of the horniest scenes in it. I was immediately like “👀👀👀👀 shit fuck that’s hot do these heteros have rights????” I was about to plop my ass down and start watching but roommate was like “oh there’s only one season and it’s unfinished and I know you don’t like unfinished stuff” so I promptly got my ass up and googled the manga so I could see more. Y’all it is GOOD, if you love the dramatic romances from Star Wars this is RIGHT up your alley and dare I say better, the plot is lovely, the characters are great, and I am SO MAD there’s only one anime season. I’d absolutely write fic for this if I was more confident, I have so many polyship ideas!!!!!!

Ohhh a classic!

Jopper - Enzo's

Joyce gets ready at home and takes a nice long bath. She uses the occasion, the feelings of nervousness and excitement, to take a little time for herself: She wants to take care of herself, feel good in her body, ease her mind, make it special.

Hopper is at the cabin, trying to pick a decent outfit cause man, she‘s gonna look great and he does not wanna fuck it up

He pick‘s her up that Friday night, 7 pm, and although the front door is open, he rings the doorbell.

She‘s as good as ready, but not fully ready, when she runs to the front door, throwing her coat over her arm and slipping into a pair of fancy, black shoes she hasn‘t worn in ages. She wears a dress. It‘s black, simple and embraces her curves, and she feels all dolled up. Her cheeks start to match the red of her lipstick when she opens the door and Hopper stands there, dumbstruck, because he wants to greet her, kiss her cheek or hug her, but all he can do is stare.

„You‘re..:“, he mutters and she laughs, and leans up to him for a quick hug. „Hey, Jim.“, she says, and it‘s a gentle whisper.

The drive is short, the music on the radio is decent, and she can feel him stealing a few glances at her whenever the traffic allows him to losen his gaze from the road for just a second.

Enzo‘s is packed when they get there, and he tries to be all gentleman, taking her jacket, pulling the chair back for her. It‘s a weird feeling, she thinks, but she could get used to it.

They share some wine, until Hopper tells her the truth - he wants to order a beer so badly. She finishes the bottle off on her on then, and it makes her light hearted, and giggly, and gets her into the mood for a little walk down memory lane.

There‘s this short moments between conversation, when they look into each other‘s eyes for a second too long, and Joyce‘s heart starts to beat a bit faster, and warmth starts to radiate from her core. For the first time in a long time, she feels light and happy.

The date ends with them walking home, with great food in their stomachs and a little too much alcohol in their veins. They chat, and no one mentions anything supernatural, anything dark.

In front of her house, she‘s about to say good night, he takes her hand and pulls her close.

Lips meet lips, a soft goodnight kiss, a mixture of beer and wine, a mixture of feelings. She holds onto him, kisses back gently and ...feels at home. In more than one way.

Bonus: A chapter from my old, first Stranger Things Fic Back and Forth in Time. It used to be the fourth chapter. Called Friday Night. I took the story down some time ago, because it needs working on, as I said, it was my first fic ever and the writing style can be improved. Nevertheless, the fic had about 25 chapters and if you want, I could post more? Let me know. It was a good mix of flashback chapters to high school jopper and then post season three stuff. It was a bit off canon tho. Loads of fluff, slow build and friends to Lovers. And a good ton of angst x comfort. My fav.

Joyce stood in front of the mirror. She couldn't decide whether she should wear her hair up or down. She was just combing it once again, when Will turned up in the doorframe, grinning.

"Down, Mum. Just leave it like that. You look pretty. And plus - Hopper has probably seen you with the most messy hair ever so - you can't do anything wrong tonight."

"Oh thanks, Will!", she said to her younger son. "It's just been a long time since I - well I actually never dated, you know. I met your father in high school and Bob... he was more of a movie night at home person."

"And what kind of person is Hopper?", Jonathan asked as he turned up behind Will. He was also getting ready for a night out with Nancy. Jonathan chuckled. He was obviously a bit amused by the fact that his Mum was driven crazy by the idea of going out with Hopper. He had never seen her make such an effort for a man ever.

"Well ... Hop is... he's a surprising kind of guy. He might not look like an Enzo's kind of person but originally it was his idea and yeah, he's probably in for some dating once he feels better and I mean...", Joyce started muttering nervously, "we're friends of course. Friends can also have dinner at Enzo's together, right?"

Will and Jonathan looked at each other and then started mimicking Joyce: "Hmm we're just friends!". The two boys couldn't stop laughing.

Jonathan was the first one to catch his breath again. "No, Mum, seriously. You picked a really nice dress. Have fun tonight. I'm staying with Nancy at her house, if that's alright? And Will's having a sleepover at Dustin's place. So don't worry about us, just enjoy the evening with Hop."

Joyce felt touched by how much her son cared. She stood there in front of her mirror in a simple black dress, her hair down and some light make up on her face and she could not believe how fast time had passed since her Jonathan had just been a little baby she had to care for.

"Thank's, Jonathan. Take care and you know what I've told you about staying over at Nancy's: It's fine for me as long as it's fine for Nancy. Will - have fun, and if there is anything wrong, tell Dustin's mother or call at Enzo's, alright?"

"Yes, Mum." , Will answered, knowing that whatever would happen that night, there was no way on earth he'd disturb that date by calling his mother in the restaurant.

In that moment the Byers family was interrupted by the ring of the doorbell. For a second, Joyce froze, and her heart skipped a beat or two.

"Hey, Joyce!" Hop said when she opened the door. Joyce noticed that he looked way better than the last time she had seen him. He wore jeans and a colourful buttoned shirt, he had shaved his beard and might even have seen a hairdresser. He even smiled at her.

"You look great, Jim. Shall we?"

The two sat down in Jim's car and talked about this and that during the short card ride to the restaurant. Having arrived there, they were led to their table. They both opted for white wine, so they decided to share a bottle, just the way they used to do it during their last year of high school, stealing alcohol from Jim's dad's wine cellar.

"Just like the olden days.", Joyce chuckled as they were half into their first glass of wine.

"Yeah, it was a nice time back then, you and me. We were so carefree those evenings in my room.", Jim smiled. He loved thinking about those times. They used to sit on the floor in his room, share a bottle of wine and smoke cigarettes. Joyce was to bring the cigarettes, Jim stole the wine. The perfect team. They used to do this once in a while back then, on weekends before all the bad shit happened. The shit none of them liked to talk about.

"Jim, I just wished we could have stopped time. But...", Joyce seemed to be interrupted by her thoughts. Jim knew exactly that she was thinking of the way her life went shortly after. All the bad shit. She quickly changed the subject. "In middle school we used to love playing outside, climbing trees. In high school we exchanged that for cigarettes and wine. That was a fun game too. And then... that one night we danced around your room and your mother nearly caught us."

For the next fifteen minutes, Joyce and Jim took a deep dive into memory lane. Joyce had done this on purpose. She wanted Jim to think of happy times, times that had nothing to do with the upside down and it seemed to work. His old smile was back, he even burst out into real laughter once when Joyce mimicked their old teacher, Mr. Cooper.

"Hopper and Horowitz, detention!", Joyce said, imitating the voice of their teacher when he caught them smoking at school between fifth and sixth period.

Jim laughed until their food finally arrived. Joyce had opted for pasta while Jim had ordered a pizza and a small salad. "You know, Joyce, I'm happy we finally made it here. A real date, I mean, after all those years."

Joyce looked him into the eyes, long and deep. He could see the sparkle in hers. "Me too.", she just said, their hands slightly touching on the table. For the rest of the evening they were in a good mood, both feeling relieved that they were both walking down the dating lane. It had cost both him and Joyce a lot of courage to be ready to turn their friendship into something more.

Joyce loved that evening. She loved having Hop around and she loved talking to him. They had called it a date but she knew she was no easy person. She had anxiety issues and although she was in a fun mood she felt doubts creeping up: Did Hopper see her the same way? They had gone through so much together, in high school and in the past years. Did shared trauma help them fall in love ? Or would it eventually get in their way?

Joyce tried to wash away those thoughts while Hopper was telling some funny story about Flo at the police department. She smiled at him and tried to focus on his story again. No bad thoughts tonight, she thought to herself.

After dinner, Hop felt like he should not be driving anymore. They decided to leave the car in Enzo's parking lot and walk home.

"I'll take you home anyways.", Jim said.

It took them about 15 minutes to walk to Joyce's place. The air was fresh and clear. It was a bit cold and cloudy but still bearable. There wasn't much talking on the way home. Both knew the evening was coming to an end and they were both not sure how exactly it would end.

They shared a cigarette on the way home, but they did not touch each other. They were just kissing through that cigarette.

"I had much fun tonight, Joyce. Thanks for making me.... for stopping my sadness.", Hop said as they stood in front of Joyce's house.

"I just couldn't see you like this anymore. Broken. It made me happy to see you smile again.", she replied. And it was true. The purpose of this date had been fulfilled, although there had also been another reason for them to meet up: She had been wanting that date for years.

Hop pulled her close and hugged her tight. Oh God, how often he had hugged her this way during all of those years of friendship. Friendship and ... Love? Friendship and confusion fitted them better. He kissed her gently on the forehead. "Night, Joycie. We should repeat this.", Hopper said softly, nearly whispering into her ear.

"Yeah, we should.", she sighed, as Hop walked out into the dark night.

so like 4 days ago i couldn't sleep and i realised that desmond ran away from home at 16 and eventually ended up in new york and some part of my subconscious sat up and said "hey spiderman was a 15 year old from new york" and my logical rational brain said "no stop" but my subconscious ignored me and said "what if. conflate. desmond has an accident with a spider after getting to new york and now he's spiderman sorry peter parker". this has been plaguing me three of the four days. it was (1/3)

(2/3) ousted on the fourth day by me realising, in the wake of all the spn finale nonsense, that the farm is based in south dakota. singer salvage of bobby singer of supernatural is in south dakota. desmond ran away in 2003. spn started up in 2005 so bobby would be well established in the area by then. it's completely feasible that desmond ran into bobby while making his escape. what this means for me tho is that instead of dwelling on spidey!desmond i'm now stuck on spn!desmond. i'm so tired.

how would you rank the seasons from least to most favourite?

alright okay right off the bat worst season season 7. for starters i think this season has no staying power i mean like since i’ve been running this blog 4 so long now my knowledge of charmed is encyclopedic and insanely vast more than like it ever need be but for the longest time. i could not remember season 7. like wtf even happened there?? evidently leo became human??? cole returned? the avatars??? like all of it was just. it’s not even necessarily forgettable it’s just i straight up could not remember it for the longest time. and i’ve said it before the concept of utopia was way to advanced for a show like charmed to tackle i am not watching charmed for moral philosophy i am watching bc i love these girls ♥ hee hee hoo hoo magic adventure ✨ tho if i am to offer a single comment on utopia: it’s awfully rich for a show to go on about destiny and fate and then take a stand against utopia in the name of free will. but w/e. i don’t like leo in the avatars i don’t like his dynamic with piper in this season i don’t like whatever phoebe’s doing this season there’s like leslie?? maybe there’s someone else? boring & flavorless they should have been setting up her endgame instead of puttering around. and kyle. zoo wee mama. could have been a great antihero. morally gray. duplicitous. self serving. but no. they gave him all those traits and called him hero/love interest. s7 left a lot to be desired out of the characters and their relationships also gave us phat L’s such as the charmed ones are werewolves don’t worry about it and feminism peaked with naked women. shout out to zankou: demon, dilf, dub & the noir episode.

you know what? fuck it i’ll say it second worse season 5 genuinely fuck season five. this is probably a Very Specific beef 2 me But. i hate what they did to the charmed universe. this was the season that marked the transition of charmed from supernatural drama to campy soap which like. i love camp! i do! but fr. fuck this season and what it did to the worldbuilding. the early season have Such A Vibe to them man with warlocks and witches and just a couple niche monsters from assorted lore that the show took and made their own. season five opens with mermaids goes directly into fairytales then gives us superheros whatever the fuck was going on in that mummy episode the sandman leprechauns and nymphs. and i hate it for that. it takes away from this urban fantasy things that go bump in the night what lurks in the shadows of the back alleys of san francisco in favor of the ugliest cinderella dress ever put to television and an onslaught of horrible irish accents for a full episode. other issues with season five: cole’s still here? why? they don’t know and neither will you! we’re not redeeming him! phoebe’s not getting back together with him! yes he died we just refuse to let him go! the cherry on top of course being a cole-centric 100th episode. shout out to. hmm. lemme think about what i actually liked about this season. i like jason dean as a love interest i don’t remember what he did in s5 but i know he was there. the season finale i’ve talked about how stupid & shitty it was but idc i still love that episode and then shout out to bacarra the only original villain this season that was a proper serve. the crone gets second place.

next on this come on we all saw it coming season 8. it’s a bad season! and i get bts there was a whole lot happening budget cuts missing actor etc. but it goes beyond that. it was a bad season. billie and christie were bad. and i’ve said this before but billie in herself is not an inherently bad character. she was just the literal worst for the show. she was a dollar store buffy blonde confident cocky skilled and ready 2 fight evil But. we are not following her like we followed buffy we are following her mentors. it’s like if we had a show called giles that aired for seven seasons And Then buffy showed up. billie was insanely irritating to watch from our perspective and in general wasn’t like. well written. attempts to humanize her / give her more depth often fell flat. and then christy. oh nelly. oh my god. barely a character. not well acted but hey it would have been a miracle if she was. negatives include dumain who was a mess omg bringing back the triad bringing back the source billie & christy obvi and also involving homeland security. which is season 7′s fault which is why it’s the worst. dubs on the other hand include both coop and henry i really liked them the shoehorned love interests weren’t great but i like their characters i though the way the got rid of leo to save on the budget was really creative and gave us a great piper episode and of course the sugary sweet finale i love it i do what can i say.

yet another controversial choice aptly coming in fourth is season 4. i respect what season 4 set out to do. i think it was a good idea. long form narratives, keeping a darker tone, focusing on character-driven drama and growth. too bad it fucking failed miserably at all of this. cole as the source and phoebe as the queen of hell was just so so botched. they had a very unique opportunity following the death of prue to explore these characters and what it means to them to be charmed, to be witches. they saved the world but the cost is insanely high. they’ve lost an older sister. they’ve gained a new sister. how do you even begin to cope with all this? episodes such as hell hath no fury and brain drain fuck so hard because they work with exactly that. had the whole season been like those episode season four would sit at number one with flying colors absolutely no competition. but alas. we can’t have nice things. the show got so bogged down with phoebe & cole, in a way that was just so, so messy. for starters, whether you loved cole or hated him before, we can all agree source!cole sucked. he was such a strong 180 from what we had seen that the show had to make the source some type of possession to justify half the shit they were trying to pull. and then to pit phoebe and paige against one another over a man was just. disgusting. and the ending of course felt rushed because it was! they wrapped up that entire issue in a nice little bow much faster than they reasonably should have been able to. it could have been a great season. it was definitely not. shout out to the seer an iconic mastermind on barbas levels, as previously stated brain drain and hell hath no fury Specific shout out to piper’s scene at prue’s grave shout out to paige as a character i like what they did with her and um. yeah that’s it.

okay we’re exiting the shit tier in favorite of the good tier welcome to the upper half. kicking us off is season 6. season 6 did what season 4 could not in that it gave us a long form plot that still left plenty of room for like. normal demon of the week episodes. i love phoebe early in this season with her faboo haircut her brand new empathy power and her relationship with jason dean. obvious strikes against for whatever the fuck that baby crazy stint was and also the mata hari episode. yikes. i love paige’s hair color in this season nothing paige as a character necessarily stands out to me however i like how they seem to have hit the blend of work-magic with paige where she wants a life and career outside of magic however she still loves the craft and embraces is with an open heart and mind. season six also gives us chris who was a very fun male lead imo we really didn’t have many like him he’s bitchy. he whines and bitches a lot he’s got an agenda he’s a bit secretive but at the end of the day he just wants a family i like him. i like the character growth we see out of piper i like seeing her try to move on from leo i love seeing her get back together with leo i like her dynamic with chris and her fears about motherhood. i also liked richard but that one takes a lot of justification. L’s are witchstock hyde school reunion used karma off the top of my head also the paige/richard/addiction plotline was so tone deaf. also the girls were mean to darryl : ( he deserved so much better. dubs were chris as a character, tbh the episode little monsters, phoebe with empathy specifically saying i love you too to jason i could write a dissertation on that line alone also the courtship of wyatt’s father and i thought the reveals of evil wyatt and chris being piper and leo’s son were both fun and interesting plot twists.

coming in third is actually season 2 a season i really do love it’s just. it lacks structure. imo there is a lot to love about season 2 morality bites and pardon my past are both delightful time travel episodes we get jack sheridan and bane jessup two of my personal favorite prue love interests we get p3 h2o and a great prue plotline regarding the death of patty we get the super cute cupid episode it’s a great. collection of episodes. it’s not a great season. there’s just imo not a strong enough thread connecting the stories together it’s mainly held together by having the same characters in it over and over again i really liked dan personally but like. i knew we were wasting time there. he was just an obstacle. a super cute loving and caring obstacle who’s great with kids but lbr piper and leo were always endgame. wasting our time on dan was stupid. i do love the sister dynamics in season two “gotta hand it to those pesky little demons they sure have brought us closer together” but again. this season could have benefitted from a rex and hannah type or even like a cole or zankou. this season is less of a season and more of just like a handful of episodes, and while there are some fat dubs, there are also some definite swings & misses. shout out to the time travel episodes the prue centric episodes phoebe’s character growth and maturity throughout this season (e.g. her going back to college) and i also think the fashion got a lot more fun this season.

second place i’m saying season one season one was a really strong start and gave us these really compelling characters with interesting relationships between one another But. a lot of it just kinda falls flat. and credit where credit is due it was a brand new show getting its feet under it but the fourth sister feats of clay which prue is it anyway they just simply aren’t dubs imo. also i don’t like that 70′s episode bc again i am an asshole concerned about The Lore i can’t believe one bitch ass warlock caused the Charmed Ones to grow up without powers. it just really bugs me. all in all the plots as a whole like aren’t great imo they’re nothing to write home about (save for from fear to eternity) it’s really the characters that make this season so goddamn good.

first place congratulations to the one the only season three. this is just because it kinda hits all my requirements in that it has some banger one offs (e.g. all halliwell’s eve, the good, the bad, and the cursed) it has an overarching plot at the exact same time as the source becomes more prominent and obvi cole is also there with murderous intent i like the character growth we see especially from prue i like piper and leo finally get married overall i really like the aesthetic of this season that blends a darker urban fantasy tone with still some charmed fashion and whimsy. strikes against tbh phoebe and cole’s relationship i am insanely picky with my enemies to lovers and the do not come remotely close to cutting the mustard in fact they are almost immediately disqualified however from afar i can see and respect The Drama. shout out to recasting victor prue with pistols death as a character and shannen directing episodes

#and of course this is a matter of opinion i'm not expecting everyone to agree w me Howver #i think you'd also be hard pressed to talk me out of my opinion #like the closer you get to the top there's more wiggle room like what's the best season i think changes with the wind #but the shit tier stays shit tier in my mind it's a matter of personal preference and i personally prefer my season to be good #charmed #💌

5. Four fandoms that have peaked your interest? supernatural always, hannibal always, annnnd idk. ive been thinking of rereading the captive prince trilogy which always sends me spiralling in a good way. and im like blanking on a fourth fandom. it is largely spn central around here.

How has the pandemic been treating you? honestly, not terribly. im very grateful for the experience ive had bc i know its a privilege. i kept my job, as did my friends and family. the additional time has left more opportunities to pursue hobbies and interests, and i am a homebody, so my preferred lifestyle has been the norm. that said, there's also been the requisite fear, guilt, anxiety, and stress to contend with.

7. A song you can’t stop listening to right now? hmmmmmm....this is where it ends by alice boman.

someone else might have already done, but i was thinking it would be fun to have themed episode lists, i mean you can basically create your own good spn with the amount of eps in different styles that exist. i have these two lists so far, one with all of the eps where baby, the car, is important, and the other one is the wacky ep list, including the mystery spot, changing channels, the french mistake, scoobynatural, etc. what diy spn list would you make?

OHHHHHH, good question anon! This sounds like a fun activity. Supernatural does have more than 300 episodes, which means they have done A LOT of diverse episodes along the years. Hmmm, okay. I’m gonna steal one of your lists because I have a soft spot for the “crazy” episodes.

So first list, the “crazy” episodes, but more kindly, the episodes I have a GREAT TIME watching: the french mistake, scoobynatural, ghostfacers, mystery spot, changing channels, hibbing 911 (because jodydonna <3).. i don’t know, maybe i’m forgetting some, but these are the ones i can think on the top of my head;

Second list, episodes that were so well written you probably would not think this is actually Supernatural (a.k.a my fav SPN writers): on the head of a pin, the man who would be king, goodbye stranger, lily sunder has some regrets, in my time of dying (f*ck kripke but this episode is GOOD), lazarus rising, swan song, two minutes to midnight (death’s intro scene lives in my mind rent free <3).. there’s probably more but I haven’t rewatched the older episodes in a while, and i’m a little behind on my rewatch, so;

Third list, episodes that focus on side characters that made this show SO MUCH BETTER: charlie, kevin, garth, jody and donna, the wayward sisters, bela talbot, meg masters, ruby 1.0 (btw this is the rewatch list i’m going for at the moment, i wanna start with the episodes from my fav side characters so i can take the bad episodes later on 😑🚬);

Fourth list, which isn’t that big, but episodes that has the “found footage” aesthetic: ghostfacers (i know it’s not technically found footage, but i LOVE how they shot this episode) and bitten (which is another fav of mine, i was obsessed with this one back in the day).. i don’t remember if there’s more tho.. these are the ones i remember.

Weathering with You (Serirei AU)

It’s got umbrellas, it’s got love. What more could we ever want?

Note: I wrote this partially sleep drunk, so ignore any incoherent yelling or gibberish murmuring. If i accidently cut this post off, it’s probably because I forgot to swtch the thing to save draft.

I badly wanted to tie it with my Terumob Your Name AU, but realized it probably won’t connect well, so I might not do it in the end.

Then I realized: Shit, they’re supposed to be kids in this, so oops now it’s also an ageswap thing. I want to stay close to the OG plot as well, so there’s no psychics either;;;

Anyway, Serizawa runs away into the big city and nearly falls off the boat but is saved by Kageyama Ritsu (I wanted to use Shou but you’ll see why I used Ritsu later). If you’ve watched the movie, you’d know shenanigans happen with Serizawa trying to find a job and he eventually finds a gun in a trashcan after being shoved away.

He shelters in a MobDonald’s and Reigen makes an entrance by giving Serizawa a free borgor! And Serizawa ends up keeping the gun under the impression that it’s a toy.

Under cut is all the spoilers for the movie, so if you don’t want that, watch the movie, come back or just read anyways and pretend this is the movie lmao.

Serizawa gets desperate to find a job and eventually tracks Ritsu’s business down to ask for work (can’t remember the plot correctly but I think this was how it went). On the bus (if you’ve watched the movie, you’d also know) Serizawa spots Reigen’s lil’ sister before he knows she’s Reigen’s sister.

(Sister idea dragged from here, and I’ll be naming her Reigen Kanako)

He finds Ritsu’s business, which turns out to be pretty small and it’s one of those, like, semi-basement sort of office/house? He meets Ritsu’s niece, who Serizawa accidentally mistakes as Ritsu’s mistress; Kageyama Mihoko.

Ritsu, who literally just wanted to be a cool writer, ends up working as some shady magazine dude and he hates it so much please man help him (not compliant to canon story). The only thing that keeps him going is the fact that most of his articles surrounds the idea of supernatural stuff, and he adores that stuff, so he gets Serizawa to write an article about this “Weather Maiden” due to the fact that it’s raining so heavily.

Cut to the scene where Serizawa spots Reigen walking with the guy that shoved Serizawa into the trashcan days ago and he thinks the guy is trying to hurt Reigen, so he runs and saves Reigen and later on uses the gun, which he thinks is a toy, to scare the guy off.

Effectively, it does scare the guy off. Unfortunately, Serizawa’s assumption about the gun is wrong. ‘twas not a toy, my good man.

So Reigen is just; “Shit balls.” and they run off to the shrine where Reigen got his magic weather powers. Serizawa tosses the gun there and he sees how epic Reigen’s powers are and is like; “We can make money out of this.”

So they do. Then Serizawa properly meets Kanako, and we get a montage of Reigen praying the rain away. Also a funny moment where Reigen’s like; “Weather maiden? I’m a guy tho”

I’m sorry, I’m so tired. Anyway, eventually police find out Serizawa had used a gun and are after him, and it promptly drags Reigen into this mess because Reigen’s parents don’t exist no more and if the police finds them, Reigen and his sister has to be taken by the social service people.

Police thinks Ritsu kidnapped Serizawa so he fires Serizawa from the writing job.

And as you know, the trio (Reigen’s and Serizawa) has to spend the night at a nifty hotel, and it’s revealed that Reigen’s gon turn into water as a human sacrifice to stop the rain.

Serizawa’s like: No!

But Reigen: Change da world. My final message. Goodbye.

Serizawa and Kanako are arrested by the police the next morning, with Reigen completely missing.

If I do write this as a fic, I hope it isn’t as shitty as this post holy m a n.

Serizawa breaks free from the police and begins running to the shrine where Reigen first showed his powers, and Mihoko, the badass woman, comes in with her motorbike(?) and zips off with Serizawa sitting behind her.

Since it was raining real bad, it got p flooded, and the bike gets stuck in the water at some point, so Serizawa has to run run run.

Meanwhile, Kanako breaks out of baby jail with a cap and boy clothes. Thank you Kanako fan club, you are just like your onii-chan. Except his fan club is behind the fourth wall.

Back to story, Ritsu confronts Serizawa and tells him to give up, but Serizawa pulls a protagonist scream and yell and that triggers Ritsu’s inner emo and betrays the police to let Serizawa get to the shrine. Kanako is there too ig but all she does is tackle like one guy and yell about her brother.

Serizawa saves Reigen. The rain comes back. Serizawa goes back home. He comes back three years later. It’s still raining. He sees Reigen.

Roll credits good night.

Genre: Supernatural AU, angst?

Pairing: Vampire!Baekhyun x Reader

Word Count: 2404

A/N: This gets kinda graphic with the descriptions of violence so proceed with caution.

It’s 7 PM. The sun set 15 minutes ago and the sky is still full of dim blue light. It’s my fourth round around the area. I’m getting impatient but I try my best to keep my features trained to innocence. It is just as I’m turning a corner to start my fifth round that I sense the first movement behind me. The excitement almost makes me falter, but I maintain my pace. I head in the direction of my rental place.

I don’t hear another sound, not even the soft footfalls for a solid 10 minutes. Had I imagined the sound before? Had this stupid circling made me crack so now I was making things up? What could I do though? If I circled back around and he was following me, he would get suspicious. Even if someone was following me, there was no guarantee it was him. I had tried my best to be alluring yet subtle. Little cuts over my legs and upper arms - just enough to get the scent of blood out in the air, but not make it too obvious.

If my research had been right, he would wait until I’m home to attack. He liked to leave his victims’ dead bodies in their own homes. I quicken my pace a little bit. It was out of excitement for hopefully it would read as nerves at being out late.

I reach the door and pretend to fumble around for my keys in my bag. I feel his presence behind me a second before he reaches to grab me. I duck instantly. Not expecting me to be prepared, he falters for a moment in surprise. One moment is all I need. I twist around and kick at his legs, making him fall right against the main door. He screams a little at the unexpected contact. The steel plate I had placed there before leaving had done its job. I smile internally as I reach for the blade I had attached at my thigh. I am up and my hand his gripping the back of neck before he has even moved away from the door.

“Wai-“ he starts, but I am faster than him. I have stabbed him through the heart before he completes his sentence. He falls to the floor. The blade wasn’t steel so eventually, he would heal but it would still take a while. I pull another blade, this one steel, and stab his leg, deep, to make sure he won’t be going anywhere for a while. Then, I head inside.

I have the set up ready already. I grab the steel chain and wrap it around his neck, dragging him inside. I lift him to the chair and continue to wrap the chain around his body. It’s only after I am done that I look up at his face. For a second, I am taken aback. Half his face is an angry red color from where it hit the steel, but he is beautiful. I shake my head to clear it. This was some evolution thing. He was beautiful so he could attract victims. He was no more than a predator.

But tonight, he would be my prey. He is breathing hard. He looks to be in actual pain. Good, I think, pulling out the steel blade from where I had stuck it in his thigh. I had other blades of course, but I’ve learned there’s something about seeing their own blood covering a weapon that gets people talking a lot faster.

I take a step back and lean against the counter facing him.

“Byun Baekhyun.” I say, a smile playing at my lips. “The elusive vampire they call the Ghost.” I stop playing with the knife and raise a brow. In a flash, the blade is flying out of my hands and embedding into the wood above his shoulder. A drop of blood rolls down his shoulder from where the knife has grazed his grazed lightly. “You seem pretty corporeal to me.” He doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t look at me. He doesn’t even fight his bonds.

“Oh, come on now, don’t be like that. Aren’t you curious why you’re here? In this…predicament?” He keeps his mouth shut. I get off the counter and start walking around him.

“See, Baekhyun, I need you.” I pull the blade out from the chair. “Well, I need a vampire, but once I got to know about you. Ooooo” I run my blade against his jaw, leaving a red line in its wake. “I just couldn’t resist the challenge. Though I have to admit, catching you was a lot easier than expected. But breaking you? Hmm. That might yet provide some fun.”

I complete my circle around him and face him once again. “So what do you say Baekhyun? Are we doing this the easy way? Or the fun way?”

“What do you want?” He grits out.

“So he does talk.” I pause again. “I want to be a vampire,” I say. I expect to laugh, to realize that he holds the cards here and just deny me outright, or quickly agree to do what I want so we can both get out of here quickly. But his reaction is so surprising I actually break character for a second. His eyes go wide and he shakes his head furiously, I can see the chain around his neck rubbing his burnt skin open at the action but he doesn’t stop. “No, you can’t.” He looks almost scared.

I pull myself out of the shock at his reaction and get back into character. “Oh, I’m sorry, baby. But you aren’t calling the shots here.” I grab his hair and pull his head back, my other hand placing the blade at the exposed area of his throat. “So, tell me, how does it work?” I had researched this too of course. I knew it had something to do with his bite. Most probably something in his saliva. But there was a lot of theories about the actual process, and I had no idea which to trust.

“You don’t understand.” He hisses at me, his eyes are full of fire. “You don’t want to end up like this. It’s not worth it.”

What the hell was wrong with him? Was seriously warning me against the being a vampire?

“You don’t know my life. Maybe it is worth it for me.” Something flashes in his eyes, but it is gone before I can process it and he says after a careful pause. “Whatever it is, I promise you, it’s not worth it.”

“Just tell me how,” I say, digging the blade deeper in his skin. He flinches from the pain but doesn’t speak. “HOW?” I ask again, but it seems like he’s gone back to his strategy of muteness.

I get off him and head to a side table where some of the more interesting weapons lay. Tonight was gonna be a long night, I think, before picking up a saw and turning back around.

I’ve been going at him for nearly two hours, and am considering taking a break and letting him stew in his wounds for a while when he speaks, “It takes days of pain, okay?” His voice is gruff from what I can only assume is holding back his screams of pain. “Endless, unfathomable pain. And the survival rate is minuscule. Everything needs to be perfect for it to work. And even if you survive, you end up like this. Pathetic, half-dead, and other. It’s not worth it, no matter what you think.”

“None of that is what I asked. I want to know how to do it. The rest is my problem, not yours.” But he doesn’t respond again. I sign internally. How the fuck had I found the most uncooperative vampire on this fucking planet?

It takes about an hour more before he starts talking again. I am breaking his fourth finger, having already wrecked the first three beyond repair. Or at least, beyond repair for the time being. He would heal soon enough. “You have to kill yourself!” I pause my action, the tiny hammer raised high.

“What?” I ask. I’m a little concerned I’ve literally imagined him speaking.

“To complete the process. That’s why it's so hard! After- after I bite you, my saliva-or whatever is in it that makes the process possible- it needs to spread throughout your body. And then you kill yourself. If you kill yourself too early, or too late, after your system has already started processing it out, that’s it. You just stay dead. You have to find the exact perfect time in order to turn.” He says it all through gritted teeth like he doesn’t want to tell me any of this.

I stare at him blankly. He is drenched in sweat, his hair is sticking to his forehead. His shirt and pants are in tatters from where I’ve cut him over and over again. He is breathing hard and his eyes almost look like he is pleading with me. But I’ve hit the gold mine. So that’s how it worked.

“Bite me,” I say. It comes out in a soft whisper, the threatening act forgotten at the prospect of finally getting what I want. His eyes go wide. It seems like he’d only given up that information to finally convince me to give up. “No-” “Bite me,” I say, more firm this time. I had injected enough people with enough shit to know how fast things spread in the body. Considering the consistency of his saliva, I could make a rough guess at when to kill myself so it worked. Of course, it could all go wrong and I could just simply end up dead. But I was willing to take that risk.

He sets his jaw. “No.” He says. I was getting irritated now. I was so close, so close. But this stupid vampire would rather get tortured than just bite me and make this easier on both of us. I am much more vicious and a lot less calculated with my strikes now. “For. Fuck’s. Sake. Just. BITE. ME.” I say, slashing at his chest with each strike. But he doesn’t budge so easily.

After 20 mins, I bring out the electrocution equipment. I’ve been going for so long that I’m actually exhausted. But each time he passes me a nugget of information, I get more invested and the thought of giving up evaporates from my mind.

It takes two shocks before he starts screaming. Three more until his fangs pop out. I don’t even think he has control over them anymore. I am too fast for him to retract them tho. I slash my wrist and shove it in his mouth. He is depleted. He’s been losing blood for hours. He can help but suck. One bite is all I need. Almost as soon as his fang sink into my flesh, I rip my arm out of his mouth. It tears my skin but I don’t care. I wasn’t going to lose any more blood than necessary.

I walk away from him to look for some piece of cloth to wrap around my wrist. Now it was only a matter of time. I am trying to do some quick math in my head to figure out when to end my life when I hear his pleas.

“Stop, Y/N, please stop.” He sounds broken, destroyed. But that is not what makes me freeze.

“How do you know my name?” I say in a low voice. This was not part of the plan. If he knew my name, he probably knew I was coming for him beforehand. For all I know, a whole squadron of vampires is about to come and once they saw what I had done to Baekhyun….Panic starts to flare in my chest and I try desperately to calm it down. I grab the steel blade from the floor where I had dropped it and press it right over his heart. If I pushed in, that was it. He would be dead and I would be fresh out of options for being turned. But I would have to do it if I was at risk here. “I asked you how you know my name?” I bite out.

“I-I’ve known about for a while.” I dig my blade in deeper and a fresh drop of blood sprouts out of his chest. “How?“

“Did you really think someone with your skills will not stick out on the streets of this tiny ass town?” My eyes narrow at him, and he continues, “When you moved here, and started stirring up trouble poking your head in places it didn’t belong, I had to look into you.” He averts his eyes. “I know about your parents. Your brother. The whole cover up.”

I grind my teeth, and move back from him. My mind was reeling. He knew too much. “Did you know I’d be coming?”

“Of course not.” He spits out. “Do I look like an idiot? Why would I follow you if I knew you were you?” His voice grows softer again. “I’m serious. Don’t turn. There are other ways to get what you want. Don’t condemn yourself to this life. You’ll regret it. I promise you, you will.”

“What do you care?!” I snarl at him. Vaguely, I realize time is passing. If he stalls me for long enough, I’m going to miss my window of opportunity. I quickly glance at the clock. I had about a minute more. Or at least I hoped I did.

His voice is hard when he replies. “Don’t you understand, you fool. I am a vampire. I know what the cost is.”

I narrow my eyes at him. It sounded plausible but I didn’t buy it. Anyway, I was out of time for chit chat. I go to grab the blade again.

“Wait! Wait!” Baekhyun sounds urgent now. “Before you do this, you should know- the sire bond between a new vampire and a sire, it’s intense. It will mess with your head. It will-“ But I am not listening anymore. If he was doing this to stall me, he would fail.

I take the blade and stab it straight through my heart. Baekhyun’s shocked scream is the last thing I hear before I fall. And then there is only pain.
