My Experimental Partner

Parings: Sou Hiyori (Midori) x GN! Reader

Before the incident of the death game, you were in high school studying about programming, machinery, and more. Working secretly with the Asunaro company, you were going to be tasked to continue with your doll making project.

However, what you noticed is that green hair boy with a red scarf was staring at you in the distance. From what you can tell, he was interested into you since he noticed that you are different from the rest of the students. Cause of that he seems to be stalking you from a distance.

But you still do your mission. Even if it's disturbing.

Arriving at the company in secret, you are creating the possibility of making a doll. A doll that contains AI functions and how to transfer consciousness to a chip. A challenging progress to be sure, since it also contains the memory chip to either be full and the doll to be in its charging form without using the wires.

But with some help of the co-workers that possibility increased and it helps you to complete your research, but the next step to test out the possibilities is....

Find a suitable partner for the job.

That left you hanging but your boss and your co-workers allowed you to take a break and find a suitable partner since they noticed that you are running blanks. You merely want to brush off how you are feeling but they won’t like it, so you had no other choice but to accept it.

You did have a relaxing 1 week vacation thanks to them giving you more money, but finding a suitable partner isn’t easy to find.

Sure there is that one green hair boy who is stalking you almost everyday which you clearly don't care, but you aren’t sure if he actually okay with it. Plus he does have his family there which it could be a ba-!!

“Hello there!”

“!!!!”

And then you saw him, standing in front of you.

“It’s strange to see you outside of the club. I was wondering where have you been!” He said but his expression remains the same, just a simple smile but an unusual standing position. Which you can tell that he looks perfect for the job.

“...”

You are surprised but at the same time, would it be an opportunity?

“Right I almost forgot my manners, I am Sou Hiyori! How about you?”

“(y/n) (l/n).”

For a guy, he seems to be clingy. “Haha, nice to meet you (y/n).” He did spend his time talking to you. However, he was silent for a while once you finished listening to him, but it seems that he doesn’t know what else to say. So it is your turn to say something.

“May I ask you for something?”

That made him happy when you spoke up.

“Is it a date?”

“No.”

“I was kidding!”

But you knew what to say since now it is an opportunity to make him your suitable partner, even if it means separating him from his family.

“A trade actually. Something that you might like.”

Ever since you gave him the offer, he immediately became your experimental partner since what you ask him had gained his attention. He began to help you in the experiment which helps create with the preparation for the death game.

It is something that he actually wanted, since he immediately becomes a researcher searching on human emotions while you act as his boss. But it's strange that he stalks you in the first place...

He was a madman they say, and it was correct that your project WILL turn him to half human half doll. Which it was something that he wanted, but poor other co-workers who were killed by him from a simple picture. But your not complaining since you kinda predicted it.

But since you requested him to find suitable targets for an AI simulator. Sou has been messing around with other people while you continue on your research helping the others creating Sue Miley and Tia Safalin.

As much as you appreciate that Hiyori accepted your trade, that also means that you have to get ready to endless annoying conversation with Hiyori more often. But is that a problem? Especially when he gives you some useful info, there is no way you can ignore him.

“So I have to wear this collar?”

“Mhm, it collects data from your consciousness and converts it to an AI Or it could be used to kill the user.”

“Hmmm.....but that alone is a lie you know, you could have use a different function aside from that! That would be boring!”

“But would it also possible to mess with people’s brains?”

You can see that he uses with his usual smile, but inside of it was an intense bloodlust. But you decided to continue the conversation.

"Well that is funny cause I was planning on that. However, keep this in mind if you die and your AI chip dies you are 100% dead.” You said which cause Hiyori’s smile to fade away now knowing the consequences.

“Yes it’s possible. IF they have their first death. You can tamper their memory to have amnesia.”

“....”

Hiyori picked up the documents that you have been using for research, you checked the pc programming to see how will the program will activate. “Say (y/n), what happens if we can mess with their brains if they wore the collar?”

You looked at him, “Like tampering with their brains when they are unconscious for around 24 hours? Not possible since there is not enough info... Plus adding more useless memories can make things weird.” That made Midori goes back to his usual smile.

“Collar or not, we will find a way to tamper with their brains just to make sure the game is interesting! I can't wait to join there!”

You and Hiyori had a laugh together in the room, knowing that the death game is coming. Which actually caught Midori to be intrigued at the sight.

“You know (y/n), it is my first time to hear you laugh! It is cute!!!”

“.....”

You were not expecting that you have use your emotion you feel him going near you. “Come on, let me hear you laugh!” His hands were on your waist feeling his fingers tickling you, which got you laughing which he watches you laughing in defeat.

He didn’t chuckle but his smile still remains, smirking that he got the upper advantage. Thinking that he is going to kill you, but instead you felt his lips kissing you. Sadly it was short, but his face remained the same, but you swore that you see a tint of red on his ears.

“Let me claim my reward, won’t you?”

You were speechless but he was amused, leaning closer just for him to close the gap.

“After all, I wanted to test something on you (y/n) since I need MY reward for you generous offer. I need it before the project begins, dear~”

He wanted this sensation to end and you let him, stripping you out of your shell shamelessly for rounds of French kissed. The rest was pure shameless, even co-workers have to keep their distance knowing that there is two psychopaths having a session.

That room was purely occupied for around 5 hours, dismantling his body and preparing the doll after the session.

It's funny, knowing the stalker Midori followed you all the way to the death game that he wanted.

You know it's not love nor happiness, you rarely feel it. The plan was to divert Midori's attention to something else and yet it worked. You watched from the game from start to the third part of the game "trust".

Since you predicted his death, you are PREPARED with a final spare that you made in secret.

An amusing sight it was, Midori gambling his life to the fullest while Sara was desperate to kill him. You can tell that you are not going to miss him despite all the hickies and kisses he gave you, after all...

You hate to admit that you love him unconditionally.

You saw how his death unfolded with a another spare clone finish eating out, of course you block out his screams from his coffin which gave you a dark chuckle that you held for so long. But that vision was replace by his face when he appear, just how you meet him in person for the first time.

"(Y/n), dear. Sara and the others are coming soon. You will be next~"

Your spare clone said as had an amused chuckle, "Prepare her in advance dear. I would like to introduce her to Sara once she arrives."
