Selina wrote a letter to Bruce to tell him why they can never last...

As I write these lines, we're around DC Comics's Batman(2016) Issue 135 and Catwoman(2018) Issue 55 and things between the Bat and the Cat have gone rather bad lately. We are far from the glamorous wedding most of the BatCat fans dreamed about before Batman Issue 50.

I cannot really understand the hate some writers get because of the way they write both characters drifting more and more apart... I remember back then, several Issues after the "WonderBat Issues" (Batman #39 and #40), how I tried to cool down some of those shippers with some hard facts scattered all over the earlier Issues.. They were deaf to any argument.. now some of those same shippers start to hate BatCat ...

I agree teasing the romance the way it was done was not really fair but it wasn't as if the readers weren't warned.

With what happens lately between Bruce and Selina I wondered at what point Tom King tried first to show that BatCat was a dead end.. and I didn't honestly expect it to be this early ...

The first time Selina appears in TK's Run is in the very last panel of Batman's Issue 9.. Nothing there...

But then in the next Issue ... DC Comics Batman(2016) #10 written by Tom King and Pencilled by Mikel Janin ... I wasn't expecting anything either ... but I was wrong.

Once reading Selina's arguments I couldn’t help but to wonder why Tom King sent Bruce and Diana into Gehenna ... and teased them as a couple again.

To get TK's message from Issue 10 about the fate of the upcoming romance you needed to read Selina's letter to Bruce ...

There are handwritten sentences, I suspect intently scattered all over the 10th Issue, picture after picture, panel after panel, .. In a way you get either bored about the stuff and just ignore it for the real action, or you mix it up with the rest of the story and get a little confused.. You need to read Selina's sentences in one row and ignore the rest to understand easier her letter.

You'll find the first part of the letter at the end of the post. It is about Selina's youth and explains the reason why she supposedly killed 237 people.

So lets skip that first part and go directly to where Selina talks about "them" ... the Bat and the Cat ..

There it is ! ... in the important, good ways, ... we are not the same at all... and that's why the kiss never lasts ... "the kiss" being a metaphor for their relationship ... Selina knows they don't really fit together and can't make it work because in things were it really matters, where it matters as a couple, they are too different ... she even explains ... where those differences find their roots : He wants to make a better world, while She doesn't care about changing the world for the better, she just want to destroy those who hurt her and those she loves...

Here Selina tries to explain why she is the way she is and why Bruce is so different from herself.. She seems to consider that she had it worse because she never had that "first paradise".. Maybe, maybe not.. I can't decide if it is worse to have known “Paradise” only to loose it, or to never have known what you would have to loose ... was it easier to be alone in a giant Manor with an old Butler for only company or to live in an Orphanage with other kids to play even if it ended badly a little later.. hard to say but both resulting personalities seem understandable..

In that last part Selina finally tells us what would be needed for the two of them to get a chance to make a relationship work ... Bruce needs to give up his dream of a better future, to give up his fight for a better world, he needs to give up hope, ... he needs to forget about the lost love of his Parent ... and surely Alfred's love as well ... then, and only then, Selina tells us ... "the kiss" will finally last.

This pretty much means Bruce needs to quit being himself, quit being Batman .... Does anyone see this happening anytime soon ? ... never ? yeah that's what I thought too.. and Selina knows this just as well as anyone else. Selina doesn’t even consider changing herself to make it work.

Unlike Selina, Diana shares Bruce's dream of making a better world, she wouldn't want him to forget about the love of his parents, Diana wouldn't want him to feel left behind ... According to Selina's own words, Bruce and Diana are alike in the important, good ways, and that means their “kiss" if it ever happened would last...

Now you understand why Tom King mischievously added WonderBat in his run, then sent Bruce and Diana to Gehenna and made them say:

Tom King didn’t include Steve Trevor in the “Double Date” like he did with Lois and Clark. He intentionally excluded Steve and Selina from the picture to tease about Diana and Bruce as a couple. Unlike the "BatCat kiss" the "WonderBat kiss" can never happen ... because unlike BatCat, who will break up every time as Selina explained it, WonderBat is bound to last against all odds...

Diana and Bruce’s refrained love already lasts for decades even without a real relationship...

For those who want the whole letter ...

In the first, longer part of the letter, Selina is writing about her own youth and why she was supposed to have killed all those 237 people... The killing is not really important because we'll learn later that someone else did it : Holly Robinson, and Selina just took the blame ... so that part of the letter is a lie... but Holly and Selina shared that youth, shared the life in the orphanage and the bombing, the burning, the horror ... so when she talks about anything aside the killing, she talks about herself.

Sad story indeed for a little girl... You can't help but to want to support the little Selina, help her, love her ...Selina hardly talks about Holly's perspective here. What would be the point ?... But Holly surely shared Selina's trauma from the orphanage's tragedy.

Both Selina and Holly had to be present and survive that bombing.. The emotional description of the burning horror, especially the burning picture of the Waynes only makes sense from Selina's POV, imo... it feels too personal to be someone else's POV.

Like I said the killing is a Lie from Selina to protect someone that she love enough to sacrifice her own life for... and it is not Bruce. In most Catwoman runs from the past Selina had always some female character that she cared more about than Bruce.

The amount of progress I made since being diagnosed with autism, depression and anxiety. Even if I stopped going to therapy, I feel like the diagnosis (esspecially the autism one) shed so much light on my life, and I was able to makes the world around me (even if just at home) more confortable for myself by understanding myself more and adjusting the way I do things so it's easier on me.

The first time you met Reki and Langa you wanted to punch them both in the face.

Had circumstances been different you would have probably gotten to know the two of them and become fast friends. But they weren't.

Instead, on your first day of school as you skated back home, you found yourself crashing into two of your classmates.

It had clearly been their fault.

You were following traffic rules and silently waiting for the stop sign when two boys suddenly barrelled into you, causing you to not only tumble from your skateboard but also watch as it rolled onto the middle of the road where it was run over by a school bus.

Your decision to angrily kick Reki who then fell into Langa and caused both of them to get a face-first of the concrete below certainly was justified.

You just wished you knew the redheaded boy was the very person you were set to skate with that night.

Reki and Langa were both very talented skaters. That much was certain from the way they moved on their boards as if it was a mere extension of their feet.

Their talent was as mesmerising as it was annoying, for it meant that a promising amateur like yourself was fated to lose your first race even if Reki had beat you by a mere second or two.

You had expected them to laugh and rub it in your face but instead found yourself being confronted by two teenage boys bowing before you right after the race as they apologised for breaking your board.

They thought you would have won had you not been forced to use your old board that was chipped and rolled funnily. You thought they were full of shit.

That was, of course, until Monday morning arrived and you walked into school to see a perfectly crafted new board tucked away in your locker.

This time you couldn't help but smile at their sincerity, feeling your previous anger ebb away as you skated to the back of the school where you had previously seen the two of them skipping classes.

You had never intended to befriend the two of them, but after you found out Reki had been the one to make your new board you couldn't help but gush at his skills.

It helped that Langa too was as in awe as you were and found great joy in joining you as you teased Reki with compliments.

Over time you found it was increasingly hard to stay away from the two of them and quickly became friends.

But that all changed a couple months later after Langa's big race against some new skater who was almost as talented as Adam. Because the sight of your two best friends kissing each other after the race broke your heart in ways you couldn't understand.

You spent the rest of that night lying awake in your bed as you contemplated your emotions, but somehow, come morning you were more confused than you had been before.

Because you couldn't understand why you were upset.

At first, you thought you had a crush on Langa. Reki was definitely that one friend you couldn't help but love because of his personality but Langa was always so soft-spoken yet sweet.

Your presumptions had quickly changed around two am when you rolled onto your side and realised that every fantasy you could muster of kissing Langa usually involved Reki wrapping his arms around you and joining in a moment later.

You were confused. But more importantly, you were conflicted.

It was clear that you had feelings for your best friends who were dating each other, but you were unsure of what to do about them.

Reki and Langa had always been open to every aspect of your personality, no matter how weird or unconventional it might be, but you were afraid wanting to be in a relationship with both of them wasn't one of those things.

You should have known they would catch on quickly.

Try as you might you couldn't help but give in to their constant questions the next morning and confess.

At first, they simply remained quiet.

Then they laughed.

The sound was so infuriating you couldn't help but try and run away from the two of them, but that was before Reki wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you between them so that Langa could place an endearingly sweet kiss on your parted lips.

Apparently, they had been thinking about opening their relationship and having a poly one too. In fact, they were planning on talking to you about it too.

Just as you had fantasised you felt Reki tighten his grip around you as you pulled away from Langa and allowed the redhead to peck you and then him.

Your relationship with Reki and Langa might have started off on the wrong foot, but you couldn't be happier that the two skaters had crashed into you that day.

Because that one accident had helped you find the people you loved.

ohhh god let me think. does it mean in general or to specific dynamics/pairs i write?!?! ill go with the former since its easier to define. arguments. first off they're so fun to write, second off what they do to the story is DETRAMENTAL. and oh god with the issues all the characters i write jave, it is PRIME matetial for both different types of arguments and them escalating QUICKLY. its just so cathartic!!! and so easy to write, for some reason. ESPECIALLY with stan and ford honestly, they r just SOO!!!! prime for them. theyre ticking time bombs fr

a super close runner up on this would be first touches. whether it be stan and ford's first hug in adulthood or crowley and aziraphale's first time holding hands, its just SO. MY GOD. yeah. Yeah

🛒 - what are some common things you incorporate in your fics? themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

first theme that popped up was grief + the concept of existence. "how do you define existence?'' more specifically. loss is just the Thing, okay ? whether in fear of experiencing it or just going through the motions or insisting it doesnt affect you or it being futile in escaping it or exploring how it weighs on you as a person is AMAZING!!!!!! its facinating. its human. it doesnt even have to be with a loved one's death, it can mean almost any type of loss and i Love It. grief sure can Do Things and come in So Many Flavors <3 and as for everything else,,,feels, well, is connected to Theme. fear of loss!!! yeah!!! scenes are Arguments (ofc), and for imagery.... describing everything as Bigger than the character(s) themselves. in a church, show how the crowley dwarfs in comparison. in the shack, describe its expanse to show how out of touch ford is with it now. its just COOL!!!!!

🛠 - what tools/programs/apps do you use to write?

not much, actually. i use google docs for the fics themselves (though i would really like to find an alternative) and Notion (an app) to organize all of my thoughts and stray ideas. notion is VERY helpful, it helps me micro organize EVERYTHING!!!!! its very nice :)

💔 - is there a fic of yours that broke your heart?

mmmmmmmmm most of them do, honestly. the list is exhaustive. in a west-end town... that definitely killed me more than once. stars in a jar.... yeah. this whumptober prompt about running away ! UGHHHHH and so much more.... write what you wanna read, y'know <3

Writers block has kicked.my ass for a while lately but today I got a random urge to write this today so. Here's a little like. Would be snippet of a ctntduo spy au fic except I'm.most likely never going to turn it into an actual fic despite it being written as if there is an actual story surrounding it. Mostly an excuse to write my favorite blorbos kissing.

Plus I've had the idea of like. Tactile sign/fingerspelling used in situations where the full signing space is not available but talkings not an option so. Here's some of that. I love sign language. It's such a cool language fr.

The room was quite obviously monitored. It was subtle enough that it functioned as an actual office, but to the pairs trained eyes the hidden cameras were glaringly obvious. They were instructed to sit while they waited and they did so in silence. They knew much better than to say a word to each other. Instead they watched each other's movements, careful for any small sign or signal.

Though Wilbur knew that Quackity was probably shitting himself with anxiety he looked as calm as he had ever seen him. He even looked bored. Wilbur was keeping himself from glancing down at Quackity's hands lest he gave too much away. He was terrified. There was no way Quackity could keep shifting the usb forever, and there was no chance of getting out of here without being searched. They were absolutely fucked.

Wilbur's head snapped at the sudden noise of Quackity yawning. He placed his hand over his mouth as he did and went right back to his position of neutrality. A few seconds later Wilbur felt tapping against his knee. He held his palm out flat and waited to feel Quackity's hand in his. They both made no acknowledgement, just continued to look bored. Quackity wasted no time in spelling.

"W," he had no time to write full words. "BAD. ME SEARCH ACT NAT. TRUST." Quackity placed his palm flat into Wilbur's and they both squeezed each other's hand once to end the conversation. Wilbur was more nervous than ever. Really he didn't want to trust Quackity, despite being certain he knew what he was doing. He wasn't quite unsure that Quackity wouldn't just leave him for dead, though, and tell the agency there was nothing he could have done and it was a noble sacrifice. He had a suspicion that Quackity had been out to get him since day one.

They both spun to see the door open finally and a well dressed man walked through. They recognized him well enough.

"I don't suppose you gentlemen have a good explanation for what you were found doing here?"

"Last time I checked this was a public building," Quackity scoffed, but it didn't sound right to Wilbur. He was unusually soft spoken. Punz didn't seem to notice, and why would he? He hadn't memorized every small detail about Quackity's behaviour the way Wilbur had.

"Public or not staff only doors still mean something." There was that glint of murder in his eyes that Wilbur rememberd from their last run in. He hated being unarmed. "Surely you weren't anywhere you weren't supposed to be, right?"

"You just said we were somewhere we weren't supposed to be, dumbass. It's not my fault your boss changed the layout of this place. I was looking for a bathroom and next thing I know your goons are harassing us."

"Cut the shit, Q," Punz's short fuse had already reached its limit. "This is the last time I wanna have to deal with you here." He glanced over at Wilbur. "Him too. Let's get this shit over with, alright?"

Quackity began to empty his pockets, nothing but loose change and his cell phone. Wilbur did the same.

"Can we go now?" Quackity raised an eyebrow. "I still need a bathroom and I'm not afraid to piss myself in your fancy chair." Punz's glare deepend.

"One more thing," he said, turning his back to face the drawers behind him. In the second of being unseen Quackity had roughly grabbed Wilbur's face, leaned over the arm of his chair, and kissed him.

Wilburs body reacted faster than his brain and he raised his arms as if to shield himself. In the split second he felt two things enter his mouth: something small, hard, and plastic, and Quackity's tongue. Just as soon as Punz had turned back around, small flashlight in hand, Quackity was back to sitting as if nothing had happened. Wilbur made his best attempt to do the same despite that everything inside of him was having a meltdown.

Punz approached Quackity and held him roughly by the jaw. Quackity incredulously opened his mouth and allowed punz to look in it thoroughly. Wilbur figured out that this wasn't the first time he had tried this trick.

Then, realizing he was next and what Quackity had surely been trying his best to send him telepathic messages to do, Wilbur yawned and, in doing so, slipped the spit slick usb into his hand and then pocket. Punz came over to him and repeated the process. Wilbur felt now he had a reason for his face to be burning red.

"Fine," Punz sighed, obviously disappointed. "You're clean. Get the fuck out." Quackity and Wilbur took their things from the desk and left the room, resisting the urge to sprint outside immediately. They waited until they had walked clearly out of view of the prison before bolting down the street, eyes wide and adrenaline pumping hard.

"Holy shit," Wilbur gasped, the first to speak. "What the fuck was that?"

"That was me saving both our asses," Quackity huffed, out of breath from holding it for so long. "Trick I learned in high school. An old boyfriend of mine would surprise me by slipping mints in my mouth like that. It's fast and effective."

Wilbur sat slightly stunned as Quackity broke down for him a moment that left Wilbur's head spinning still like it was nothing.

Because it was nothing. It was business. Quackity probably had plans to wash his mouth out when he got to the nearest sink and he had been desperate for a solution to his problem. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Wilbur and Quackity silently called a car to take them to the agency. The job was far from over still.

Ok I am gonna talk about the things I like in this post because it's fresh in my mind and most of these things will be spoilers! Also this could be long.

First of all hi pjo mutuals!!! Idk if any of you are reading this but I really am thankful so many of you decided to stick around despite the Cookie Run hell of it all.

It's been like two years now and even if we haven't talked much in that time, you guys mean a lot to me <3

ANYWAYS THE SUN AND THE STAR!!!!

This book has been on my mind since it was hinted at at the end of TOA, so it's been a sec. The idea of this book actually helped me quite a bit when I wasn't doing very well mentally, which is very sad!

Ok, first thing's first.

Second of all, my statement still stands:

For the most part the queer representation is pretty damn good this time around!

Epiales and Menoetes immediately getting defensive was a bit jarring and a little bit worrying to me but thankfully their bursts of anger about it last like five seconds each.

I'm really glad they say the words gay and queer naturally and not like they're some forbidden line to be crossed in a novel for young teens/late tweens. It genuinely made me smile.

Persephone even bringing up the notion of aromantic people almost made me lose my shit!! I am aromantic!!! That's me!!!! Just like me fr!!!!! But seriously I kinda feel forgotten a lot in queer media and literally any mention of aromanticism makes me smile, it was a very nice thing to see.

That's barely even mentioning the queer characters!

Nico bluntly saying he's gay is so fucking satisfying to see now, it's so nice to see him so comfortable with who he is.

Will canonically being bisexual is really nice to see, I could feel the writers' sigh of relief as they put the discourse to rest.

SPEAKING OF DISCOURSE... Piper MyQueen! It's nice to see a questioning character because I haven't really seen one represented before! She's still figuring herself out after the months following the end of toa and it's nice to see the message that it takes time to figure yourself out being shown because it's a surprisingly rare one to see. I appreciate how she also gravitates towards the queer label :)

Now minor characters:

Epiales: I appreciate them because of how ridiculous their existence is

Hiss-majesty: iconic and also that name makes me confused

Menoetes: my beloved

Geryon: Ok that's just hilarious I cannot deny that

BIANCA DI ANGELO MY BELOVED MY ULTIMATE FAVE I MISSED YOU HOLY SHIT.

That. I have LOVED seeing how Bianca and Maria have affected Nico over the years! It's so tragic and amazing and YES.

Seeing Bianca one last time and Maria for the first time ever was so so so satisfying even if they didn't say much. I almost teared up a bit. A lot. I got emotional.

Nyx using them against Nico was SO fucked up and I love it

Hades and Persephone's growth was so unexpected I am just gonna be real.

Hades was going to happen naturally because of what we say in HoO but him caring enough to send Nico a prophecy? And bring back Maria and Bianca? That's so sweet! I love that! I love that SO much! And also he isn't completely not an asshole which is appreciated.

Persephone is my favorite one of Riordan's interpretations of the gods.

I never thought I would say that sentence ever in my life. She's so caring and sweet for the 10 minutes we see her and I really appreciate her growth and seeing how she's finally getting over her grudge. It was unexpected and completely welcome.

Also I appreciate clarifying that Hades and Persephone's relationship is a good one from Persephone herself.

Also Nemesis is a badass and I did not realize how much I missed her! She has no reason so be so cool and yet she still is.

Gorgyra's chapters were all wonderful, I love her SO much and I hope Bob visits her sometime.

Speaking of which: Bob and Small Bob are amazing as always.

I appreciate the theme of change around Bob's character, he's different from how I remember him being is HoH but that's probably more natural than Nico's change in character (which I don't mind as much as most people I've seen but is still jarring) because of him and Iapetus switching every two seconds for over a year so yeah.

Small Bob is Small Bob. Cat. Gato. Wonderful.

Will actually having more of a character was nice to see too! Also his ultimate magic hidden deep within being hayfever is very funny to me.

Actually talking about the trauma these characters have been through and addressing it is also very satisfying.

Overall I think it was a good send off to these kids who have been through too damn much. I will have a post airing my criticisms probably but I really did like this lovable train wreck of a book, me from two years ago would be very pleased.

Can't wait for the road trip book where both Percy and Annabeth come out as bisexual simultaneously and for this series to be OVER!!!

You should have known that something was wrong when you heard both Peter and Scott saying that at the same time. Only one of them was already trouble alert, but both? 

"WE HAVE AN IDEA." 

You were seriously worried for your and your friend's sake. 

"What idea?" Ororo asked, her expression more calm than yours, but still clearly scared. "Please tell me none of us is going to die." Jean added. 

Peter rolled his eyes. "Ah ah. Very funny." Scott shook his head, his excitement hadn't faded for an instant. "We, my friends, are skipping school today. We're going to the mall, the arcade, the movies, even freaking shopping. So? Who's in?"

Jubilee was the first one to answer. "I am! I really need a day off." You nodded in agreement. "Sure, why not?" 

"I'll tell you why." Ororo answered. "We are the teachers, Scott. We can't simply skip school!" Jubilee shrugged. "Well I am not, and I can't wait to go out." Jean grinned at her friend, and looked at her boyfriend. "She's not so wrong." This time Peter shook his head. "Nuh-uh. I don't care. It's just a day off! What's the worst that could happen?" 

You chuckled. "I can't believe I'm about to say it, but they're not entirely wrong."

"Did you just say we're right?"

"That's so not what I said." 

"I think that's exactly what you said-"

"Enough!" Ororo said, exasperated. "Fine! We'll go to the mall or whatever you want to do!" Scott and Peter ran to their friend to hug her. "You're the best, you know that?" The young mutant laughed. "I know."

"That you suck at pac-man? Yeah. Yeah we do." Scott stuck his tongue out at you, making you chuckle. "That's not true, I'm great."

"Scott love, you got the lowest score." Jean made him notice, the yellow numbers flashing at him from the game screen. “That does not mean I’m not good.” He replied. You laughed. “Yeah, it just means we’re better than you.” He raised his hand to take his glasses off, but Ororo stopped before he could. 

“First, you’d kill her. Second, remember what you promised: no mutations allowed today. Only a group of normal people hanging together.” Peter patted her bak. “Yes Ororo don’t worry. Y/n? You up next. What do you want to do now?” You tapped your finger on your chin. “Who framed Roger Rabbit.” It was more of a question than a sentence. “What’s that?”

“A new movie that came out a few days ago. It’s this detective who helps a cartoon solving a murder.” 

“A what helps a what solving a what?” 

“They’re right, I heard of it too, it actually sounds pretty cool!” Jubilee agreed with you. “Hm, I’d like to see this Roger Rabbit too.” Kurt said, shyly. “Sounds like a plan then. To the movies!” Jean exclaimed excitedly. After paying the tickets, they noticed that they were the only ones in the room. “Woah. At least we have all the seats for us!” Scott started running towards the first line. “Right! I wanna try all of them.” Peter added, following his friends. 

Ororo shook her head. “And when you’re gonna realize this was a terrible idea, don’t come to me.” She said, referring to her friends as Peter and Scott run through the room. you chuckled and just picked a seat, as the movie began.

Almost two hours later, once it was over, you got up and stretched. “Well? How was it?” Storm smiled. “Ok I’ll admit it. It was fun, I liked it.” Jubilee threw her arms around yours and Ororo shoulders. “LIked it? I loved it! It was amazing.” Kurt nodded. “Yeah, it was pretty cool.” Peter and Scott catched up behind them as they got out of the theater. “I agree, even if I’m not sure I understood everything.” 

You rolled your eyes at Peter's comment. “Well, you spent the entire movie changing seats every time a scene switched. To get a “full experience”. Jean scoffed. “Ah, not true. They stayed pretty still during Jessica’s performance.” Peter blushed as Scott hugged his girlfriend from behind. “C’mon, you know I got a thing for one redhead and one redhead only.” He smirked, and kissed Jean who smiled at him. 

Jubilee faked gag as the others, you included, laughed. “It’s late. We should get going.” Ororo interrupted them, after they stopped laughing. “Nah, it’s only- 8 p.m.?” Jean scrunched her nose. “It is kinda late.” This time it was Scott who rolled his eyes. “Fine, party pooper.” He finally agreed. As you all headed back to the mansion, you stopped behind to watch the group. Jean and Scott were holding hands, Jubilee and Kurt laughing at something Ororo had said. 

Peter noticed you had slowed down, and stopped to walk with you. "What are you thinking of?” You smiled, looking forward. “Us. Our friendship. It’s in moments like these that I’m glad I know you guys.” Peter laughed. “Aw, ‘cause you’re in others?” You punched him playfully, laughing with him. “No, I get what you mean. I barely had my mom before this and now… I have true friends.” He took your hand. “I’m glad to know you guys too.” You smiled at him and squeezed his hand, before he yelled to Scott “Race to the mansion, last one to arrive owes everyone a dinner!” Then took you in his arms and started running. Even at full speed, you could still hear the familiar groan of Scott.

Honestly I've been on tumblr for years with all sorts of different accounts and I never expected that when I posted some shitty Jimmy Darling headcanons back in April I'd even get this far, especially in this short of an amount of time, so fr thank you guys so much 😌

I really have no idea what to say except thanks sooo let's get onto the celebration?

Every celebration I say I'm going to write stuff, so this time I've decided to flip the switch and have you guys write stuff! So many of you guys are great writers and I want to be able to share your stuff too, so I've decided to run a fic exchange! And, of course, I'll be making a masterlist for all the fics once complete so here's how it works...

Everyone who wants to partake fills out a form, half of it is about what kind of fic they want to receive and then the other half is a few questions about what you do and don't feel comfortable writing just to make sure you dont get given a prompt you're uncomfortable with!

Also, side note, this celebration is ahs writing only! I just think including multiple fandoms would complicate this a little? However, if this does well, I definitely have ideas for a marvel fic exchange closer to Christmas! (Secret Santa, anyone? 😉)

To sign up you can simply fill out this form! The deadline for signing up is Friday the 15th October at ten pm bst

Once deadlines close I will start pairing people up, you'll find out who you're paired up with either the following Saturday or Sunday, if you don't get told before Monday please DM me

You'll then have until November 15th to post your fic! That gives you two weeks in October and two in November so you don't have to worry about other events such as kinktober if you have those going on — if you need an extension please let me know before the 15th of November

   L'opportunità per me di ascoltare  un altoparlante EgglestonWorks è arrivata tramite il mio amico e collega,  Marshall Nack. Alcuni di voi lettori a lungo termine  potrebbero ricordare la recensione approfondita di Marshall dei Rosas di  EgglestonWorks.    Marshall e la sua adorabile moglie  Lynn sono una coppia insolita in quanto entrambi sono audiofili. In  realtà, sono l'unica coppia audiofila che conosco personalmente. After a long, grueling train ride, the team had finally made it to the city of Draseel, ready to search for the wood god dragon and take the next step in their mission.

Happy let out a long, obnoxious yawn. "I'm sleepy."

"Yeah, I'm pretty tired, too." Wendy admitted.

"I suppose it is late." Erza agreed. The team sorted out the nonsense with Erza and Erkis, got them switched back, and scolded Erza for being careless. That alone put them back another three hours.

"On the map it says there's a hotel right next to this station." Lucy looked up from the map.

"Alright, snoozing it is!" Natsu cheered. He was happy enough to be off the train, and now he got to rest on top of it.

The group got two rooms for the night, one for the boys and one for the girls. They quickly departed into their two rooms, ready to get some sleep and take on the next day.

Gray barely got a chance to breathe before Natsu and Happy were completely knocked out on their beds. They didn't bother to get under covers or anything, they were just out like a light.

"Why am I not surprised?" Gray sighed. He followed their lead and got ready for bed.

Gray flicked off his bedside light and turned over. After a few moments, he tossed over to the other side. Then onto his back. When a few slow minutes passed, he finally realized he wouldn't fall asleep right then. There was something that was picking at his mind, something he couldn't just easily sleep off.

He let out an exhale and turned his bedside table back on. He made sure not to wake up Natsu, as he didn't feel like dealing with his teasing. He carefully brought the lamp over to a desk that was in their room and quietly sat down. He rummaged through the drawers and to his luck he found just what he was looking for, a pencil and paper.

For awhile, he just stared at the blank paper. He even said "forget it" and tried to go back to bed, but he soon knew that wouldn't happen. So at the table he sat, head in his hands, thinking of how to put words from the pencil onto the paper.

Finally, he thought of something.

"Dear Juvia," He wrote at the top. Then, he hit another block. He was out of ideas once again.

"Ok, Gray, just chill out." He thought to himself. "Just write what's in your head." But that was just that--he didn't know how to translate his feelings into words.

To put it in the simplest words possible, he missed Juvia.

He didn't realize how much he did until he saw her doppelgänger and contemplated love, but he most certainly did. He wondered what she was doing, he thought about what he would be doing with her if they were together, he imagined their reunion when he got back to Fairy Tail, and actually thought fondly about how he would be showered with her love.

He couldn't seem to get her off his mind.

"Gah, this is so embarrassing." Gray thought and scratched the back of his head, his cheeks turning pink.

Again, another deep breath, and he brought the pencil back to the paper.

"Dear Juvia,

The mission is going well. I know you're probably worried sick, and you wish you could be fighting with me right now, but don't worry, I'm fine. The first dragon god on our quest was a water dragon god. Of course, I naturally thought of you." He paused. He went back and erased "thought of you" and wrote "thought of your magic." After a few moments of back and forth, he ultimately decided on "thought of you."

"He was crazy powerful. It made me wonder how your magic would've matched up against him. You're almost as scary as he is, so I'm sure you would've given him a run for his money." Gray smirked at his joke, and he began to think of all the times Juvia's magic had gotten scary strong when she was in a serious fight.

"But no worries, we beat him even though your water magic would've made it a hell of a lot easier. And actually, he's a really nice guy. His magic was thrown all out of whack by this wizard that can steal people's magic. We'll definitely have to take care of them eventually, but for now, we moved onto the wood dragon god in Draseel.

Before we got on the train today we ran into a guild of celebrities that look just like us. The whole thing was super bizarre. Your doppelgänger's name was Juvina, and she was a topless dancer. Hopefully that doesn't give you any ideas for a hobby, because I'll tell you right now, it ain't happening." Gray paused and smirked once again.

"But what really got me thinking was" Gray paused. He wasn't sure how to word all of this without exploding with embarrassment, but he tried his best.

"when we met this girl Ervis; she's an actress. Her next role focuses on love, so we kind of got to talking about that. I can't lie, you're the first person that popped in my head. From there, I couldn't get you off my mind, so I figured I'd write you a letter. It's not like it'll go unwanted. I'm sure you're gonna' eat all this up.

Basically, I just wanted to say" He paused. His hand began to shake a bit, and he took a deep breath.

"I miss you, and I'm excited to see you when we get back to Fairy Tail. Make sure you have your best hug and cheery 'Gray-sama' ready for me when I get back. Honestly, I'm going through withdrawal." Gray finally let go of his breath after he wrote that. Almost everything in him was telling him to go back and erase that bit, but after reading it over for the 30th time, he knew it felt right. It was pretty much exactly what he was thinking, and he knew he had to work on his way of expressing his feelings lately, and this seemed like a good step.

"So I hope all is well at Fairy Tail. I'm sure you're taking lots of missions with Gajeel, and I'm sure you're both kicking ass. I'd expect nothing less. Oh and make some of those Juvi-buns for me. They're pretty damn good.

Sincerely, Gray."

He looked the letter over and over and over. He went back to make little changes, but ended up changing them back. After he finally wore his eraser down to nothing, he decided it was good.

"Ooo is this a love letter?" Gray jumped at the sound of Happy hovering over his shoulder.

"Hey! I thought you were sleepin'!" Gray snatched the letter from the desk and held it close to him.

"I was sleeping. Now I'm awake. Just needed a little catnap." He said.

"Ok, well let's not wake up Natsu." Gray whispered.

"Why don't we wanna' wake up Natsu?" Gray jumped again, hearing Natsu talking over his other shoulder.

"Shit! Since when are you two ninjas?!" Gray held onto the letter tighter, catching his breath from two scares.

"Since when are you a writer?" Happy grilled, notioning towards the paper in his hand.

"I-I'm not!" Gray stood up. "I'm goin' to bed!"

"Is it a looove letter?" Happy teased.

"N-no! Don't be stupid!" Gray was focused on defending himself to Happy and he lost his grip on the paper. Natsu took the opportunity and snatched the letter out of his hand.

"Dear Juvia," Natsu began to read.

"Hey! Give that back!" Gray reached for it, and Natsu pulled away.

"So it is a love letter!" Happy giggled. "What else does it say, Natsu?"

Natsu began skimming the words to which Gray began chasing him around the room.

"Does this say what I think it says?" Natsu's voice boomed. "'I miss you'?!"

"Just give it back, ya' creep!"

"Ah, ah, ah," Natsu paused, and in his free hand he lit a flame, hovering the paper over it. Gray froze.

"One more move, and it goes up in flames." Natsu raised a brow. Gray said nothing. He stood promptly, but on edge.

Natsu continued skimming over the letter. "Juvi-buns?!" He bursted "I thought you thought they were weird?!" He cackled.

Gray folded his arms and looked to the side. "Yeah. They were tasty, alright?" He murmured.

Happy and Natsu exchanged looks and began rolling with laughter.

"What else Natsu?!" Happy said through laughter.

Gray took the opening and grabbed the letter out of Natsu's hand. "I think that's enough story time for tonight."

"We're just teasing, Gray!" Natsu said, still laughing.

"Yeah, yeah, well I'm goin' to bed." Gray practically stomped his way to bed and threw the letter into a random drawer before flopping onto the mattress.

"Hey man," The laughing finally stopped. Gray turned over and saw Natsu and Happy finally collected themselves. "In all seriousness, it's pretty cool that you wrote that."

"Aye!" Happy chimed in.

"Juvia deserves to hear that kinda' stuff. You better mail it out before we leave tomorrow." Natsu smiled at Gray and got back into bed.

"...Thanks." Gray reluctantly said and turned back over.

Once he heard Natsu and Happy snoring again, Gray sat up a bit. He carefully pulled the paper and pencil back out from the drawer. He decided there was one more change he needed to make.

He erased the "Sincerely, Gray." and replaced it with "Love, Gray."

He decided the letter was perfect, and finally rolled over to get a good night's sleep.

5x18, well this ep was divisive. N origin story was mostly good. I had a couple of issues w/it but overall I enjoyed it. We got to see how N truly was her father’s daughter. I thought Lia was cool. The intro to the N & RF ship made sense. We saw how I&N did have a loving ship, it just that I was a helicopter parent more than anything. I’m sure that caused issues as N got older esp teen yrs. I liked Godspeed, our 1st speedster villain in a while. Didn’t like his story tho. I was disappointed 1/2

that was all we got from fut I. That was the only POV we got abt her dampening N powers. Fut I didn’t tell N a lot about her father. B in his feelings the whole ep. B&I not on the same page w/N. We understand more abt why that is w/the del scene. TF around. The vid msg fr B was sweet. B talk w/N abt how she kept going back was valid bc that’s my issue too, it didn’t make sense. B taking N back to the fut was cold & ooc but it was for plot reason (the fight) B confront w/RF, loved that scene 2/2

I remember enjoying “Godspeed” more when it aired, because it was considerably better than the previous few episodes, and I had hoped that the energy of the episode would reinvigorate the show, especially as it aired after the spring hiatus period. However, now I think that he episode actually is pretty sloppily pieced together, narrative-wise, as there was every opportunity to develop Nora’s arc in the future and to give Godspeed a badass entrance, and instead, the episode was simply focused on showcasing how Nora and Reverse Flash’s alliance came to be. Because at the end of the day, that was Nora’s point: to be a plot device to deepen, heighten, and personalize the longstanding enmity between the Flash and the Reverse Flash. Still, I agree that it completely made sense why Nora turned to Thawne: in order to figure out how to defeat Godspeed, as she did not know any other speedsters who could help her. 

I loved Lia, and I wish that we saw more of her, but that would have presupposed a much more developed arc in the future. Once again, Lia’s death propelled Nora to feel more alone than ever and to be further isolated for Thawne to manipulate her. Thus, Lia’s appearance was tied to the end goal. I do think that this episode was considerably better than the previous like four installments, but I just wish that instead of demonstrating just how much Nora’s story is tied to Thawne’s re-entry into the story, the future and the world of 2049 was properly developed. I still think that it’s absurd that the narrative never gave future Iris the chance to explain why she had the power-dampening chip placed in Nora, even though, as I’ve mentioned before, the reasons are obvious: Cicada II, a meta-human serial killer, is still at large, and Barry disappeared. But again, the narrative was uninterested in this future; it was uninterested for the sole reason that this future was eventually erased in the finale, and the insertion of the power-dampening chip into the narrative was simply to create drama and traumatize Iris in the present. 

Iris was evidently a helicopter mother in the future. When she could not get ahold of Nora, she phoned the Flash Museum in order to reach her daughter, and it’s unsurprising that after she lost Barry, she would constantly be hovering over Nora. But she still brought Nora up, showering her with love and affection at every turn, which is why the way in which Nora’s memories were warped in 5x12, to the point that Iris was depicted as cold and distant, was both confusing and highly problematic to me. I did like the confrontation between Nora and Iris in 5x18, but there was so much more that needed to be hashed out with regards to the power-dampening chip. 

Barry’s message to Nora had me in shambles. Such a sad and beautiful moment. 

Godspeed was a complete dud. I’m not surprised that he didn’t live up to the hype, but even I’m perturbed how poorly he was crafted as a villain, especially because everything about V-9 failed in season 2, and so I have no idea why the writers chose to make V-9 addiction another villain’s origin story. 

I agree; my problem was why Nora kept going back to Thawne, even after she learned all that he had done. She forgave him so quickly, which still angers me, after two, out-of-context conversations with her mom and dad, respectively, about forgiveness, when Nora has always been characterized as kind of unforgiving, due to all the anger she’s bottled up over the years. It was all for plot reasons, which is my main issue with season 5: constantly sacrificing strong character moments and having characters act OOC in order to justify a particular plot point. Once again, it was OOC for Barry, the most forgiving person in the world, to run his daughter back to 2049 and unceremoniously leave her there, especially before consulting Iris. However, I agree that Barry and Thawne’s confrontation at the end of the episode was fantastic, and it was probably my favorite scene in the episode.
