Since Jena posted her seal art, I figured I will too

Peachy is a ringed seal, so she is also a smol 4.5 ~ 5 ft as a seal, and around 5' 4" as a human.

She absolutely hates confrontation so the thought of stealing or doing a crime greatly distresses her, so instead she looks sadly and pathetically at passing fisherman until they take pity on her and throw her some fish.

That or selkie Jena gets fish for her don't worry about it

Emmet tried to help once to make her life easier; it didn't work out

Selkie Jena facts:

She is a harbor seal.

Seal form is about 4'5", human form is 5'3". Don't even worry about why her seal skin is so oversized, it's fine, magic or whatever, shhh

Her hair is a horrible tanglemess thanks to all the rolling around the ocean/on the shores; stuff is getting caught in it constantly. Don't be surprised if a tiny crab pops out of it or something (free snack!)

Refuses to let Peachy go hungry, so gleefully does all the crime for her

Leaves local fisherfolk alone for the most part (unless she spots a tasty lunch left unattended), and does all her fish stealing from commercial boats

She doesn't like how wet shoes feel so she only swipes sandals, but because sandals aren't exactly secure she's constantly losing them to the ocean

(Ingo often finds her lost sandals and adds them to his collection of stolen clothes; ambiguous if he actually knows they were hers or not, of if he hears her complain about losing all her shoes and is just like "damn, that's crazy. anyway I found more free shoes")

She is hopelessly in love with Sealgo and pretty useless about it. Thinks she's good at keeping her feelings hidden but she's not. everyone knows. stop lying to yourself

Did i ever even show yall that I drew these guys as selkies

They stole their clothes from various ships

They also stole fish

And a couple captains hats

Emmet found clothes that fit him, but Ingo couldn't find any so he just grabbed whatever was closest

Emmet has a specific Rock he likes to sunbathe in. Ingo flops onto shore and just knocks out wherever.

Yes. They're just normal seals that are somehow in the pokemon universe

People try to catch them but the pokeballs don't work on them so they have just resigned themselves to their fate of having seal neighbors

They have been dubbed as "ah those two fucking seals again" by every fisherman in the area.

Some people think they're legendaries, but the locals more or less call them nuisances and tricky little things

They don't have in-between forms, they just have their seal forms and human forms.

Selkie Submas x Reader HC

You live in a pretty cozy town. It connects to the sea but there aren't a large number of boats or fishermen, so you love going on your wooden boat to catch some of the local fish.

The fish here are plentiful and the waters are gorgeous. Today was a good day to fish it seemed like.

Life is small and quaint usually. There are the locals that you adore but no one has really caught your eye yet romantically. Not to say that they were necessarily bad people, but rather you just didn't seem to fit the norm for them.

Your easy way of life is gentle and serene, but it isn't as glamorous as people perceive you to be, given your home. It was rather large and spacious, but it made you quite...lonely.

but for now you were content. Fishing on the boat with some nice music playing on your speakers. You easily start catching fish one by one.

that is until, you think you hit something big. Something is giving you a strong fight on the fishing pole. You pose your food on the edge of the boat to give yourself some more leverage and then suddenly, a something mighty and large rises to the water's edge. The momentum of the water pushes your boat to the side and you fall backwards.

As you try to get your bearings, you see a man resting his elbows on the edge of your boat. You don't know how he got there so soon. Before you can speak, he then comments in a smooth, deep, and husky voice.

"Stop stealing the fish, human. You're catching more than you can eat." He then throws your fishing lure back into your boat before letting go, immediately dipping back beneath the water.

You rush to see where he's gone, but you don't see another man. Not another man for miles. Instead you see a seal, swimming in the deeper waters beneath your boat.

Selkies.

I feel like I did see someone else mention submas twins as selkies, but I cannot for the life of me remember who it was. But YES. Just. Sweet seal men, in awe that you, a human, have returned their coat to them - which, unbeknownst to you, means you’re now married. Congratulations!

Or even just them pining for you every time you go visit the beach during your vacation; them deliberately dropping their coat nearby for you to pick up.

Even better, if you want some angst or a bit of action, one or both of the selkie twins caught by a lab, (could be run by legit marine biologists, or by some evil team wanting to capture and sell mythical creatures to the highest bidder) with you as one of the scientists/an intern. You can bond with them, gain their trust, and depending on the direction you want this to go, you can help reunite them, or they decide to stay near the shore just to visit you when you go do research - OR! You can help break them out of the facility and back into the ocean. Maybe you hide them until they can get back home; maybe they have to help you go into hiding to evade the evil Team. Gotta keep their new mate safe!

As for the Marble Carver au, it’s like the story of Pygmalion, the man who carved a woman from ivory and fell in love with her, so Aphrodite made her come to life. Except it’s submas~

I have a soft spot for Emmet, but it could be either twin as the Pygmalion stand-in. (Or hell, it could even be the reader insert, carving themself a husband.)

I was originally thinking just a short, cute, romantic au, but then I realized it could also be kind of angsty if we want to say the carver is trying to bring a dead/missing loved one back to life, (like a fusion of Pygmalion and Orpheus.)

Another option is to add elements of horror to it - like some kind of Ib (fucking adore that game) fusion, or maybe the “scrapped” carvings are alive as well, but aren’t actually... you know. Right. Just, something a liiiiiittle uncanny.

Maybe Emmet tries to bring Ingo back by carving him a new body but something else takes it over? Or one of the boys tries to resurrect their dead s/o, to a similar effect. Or it is them but it isn’t. Or the entire other way around, with the s/o trying to resurrect one/both of the boys - or even just a dark version of the myth where they carve the statue and it comes to life but it’s not a happy ending.

I just. Have so much to write and I can’t choose what to do first. XD

for the second bit, i like a lot of aus~ i enjoy whenever people work off of the emmet is reshiram/ingo is zekrom fantheory, i really enjoy @glassesblu's oingo/yemmet and oemmet/yingo aus, along with the ones they have going with @belltrigger -- especially bot emmet, changeling ingo, and unicorn emmet! i also like @unovanhunny's selkie au cus... i like selkie aus x'DDD

as for my own? i like my main comics of emmet aging alongside ingo while they're separated and then showing up to get his brother back lol, and of course i'm really into hades and persephone au atm

there are plenty others i enjoy, but those are some off the top of my head~

as for their children in hades and persephone au, here's where i get very very wacky with mythology and do some stuff my fellow greek myth nerds would stone me for, so under the cut i go ahaha

okay so emmet and ingo end up having...... a lot of kids. like, a lot a lot. there was a big shortage on gods and goddesses but that has been Taken Care Of because emmet and ingo cannot stop going at it

here's a horrifyingly long list of hcs that may or may not make it into future fics/art when i get around to making more of that

all of their kids mainly work out of the underworld -- even the ones that end up being olympians -- and they're collectively considered equivalent to depot agents when they're not fulfilling major godly duties

their oldest daughter is aphrodite -- she hardcore ships her parents and has no chill

their oldest son is hypnos -- he's technically in charge of organizing all the agents' duties and is very exhausted all the time

occasionally emmet will be the one to get pregnant to spice things up and it usually ends one of three ways: the kid is a super op god, it's a miscarriage, or the kid is born mortal and dies soon after -- it's always traumatizing in the case of the last two and neither of them ever learn

that being said zagreus is a strange mix of op god but who also died and kinda is sickly (he inherited emmet's allergy to ambrosia) -- he's emmet's lil guy even though they like to razz each other

nyx is also one of emmet's good pregnancies and she's a huge daddy's girl

all of them are close with ingo regardless though, ingo loves his kids and spoils them all because he can't bear to deny them anything

the furies are also some of emmet's and they're... strange lol

apollo takes after his parents and is into his twin artemis; artemis doesn't know and apollo drowns his sorrows in this by being a bit of a whore

athena and aries are kismesis -- if you know you know

really there's just.... so much incest going on....... but it's greek mythology so you just have to expect that all the more than any normal submas au

also yes i know NONE of these save for zagreus are considered hades and persephone's kids but this is my au and i get to turn ingo into everyone's mom if i want to x'D
