The Mischaracterization of Ferris: A thread analyzing Re: Zero's most misinterpreted and overlooked character.
Tumblr media
Note: This is a re-edit of a thread I wrote on Twitter. I recently decided to start using Tumblr a bit more. Since I've also been wanting to back up most of my threads, I figured I might as well move everything here. This is the first re-edit I'll be posting on this site. It was one of my favorites to write, so I hope it's enjoyable!
Side story spoilers for the entire thread. Arc 8 spoilers in the speculation section (will be marked since so many people aren't caught up).
For novel readers of Re: Zero, Ferris stands as one of the most divisive characters in the fandom. Considering his poor utilization in the anime and his role in the story within Arc 3, it's easy to see why.
On one hand, Ferris is one of the most outwardly aggressive characters toward Subaru in Arc 3. He makes no secret of his disdain from the start and consistently throws jabs at him every opportunity he gets. This behavior can certainly leave a negative first impression.
On the other hand, Ferris is quite a fascinating character who serves an important role within the narrative of Arc 3. He doesn't let Subaru off as easy as everyone else, which is exactly what makes seeing him grow respect for Subaru satisfying.
Whichever opinion you hold, that’s mostly irrelevant today. Instead, I will be simply discussing his character and his role in the story, as well as arguing in favor of many of his merits that people overlook.
Ferris's primary role is similar to all the Royals Candidates' knights: serving as a foil for Subaru. I've explained the similarities between Subaru and the other knights before, but to sum it up as quickly as possible all 3 of them represent a version of what Subaru could be.
Reinhard is a version of what Subaru could've been if he were the typical isekai protagonist, Julius is a lot more complicated but he’s essentially what Subaru could've been if he were granted enough power to face his enemies on even ground, and Al is Subaru if he had been just a bit unlucky in where he had been sent; becoming someone who struggles to care and abuses his powers to the fullest.
Ferris is much the same, though it can be argued he parallels Subaru the hardest, except for maybe Al. The resemblance on paper between the two is uncanny. They are both physically weak men who often don't fit traditional gender roles and have the sole desire of helping a woman they love to achieve her dreams of becoming a Royal Candidate, no matter the personal costs to themselves.
Tumblr media
To do this, they use an extraordinary power unique to them (in Subaru's case RB, and in Ferris' case his magic that is relative in power to an authority). Their need to rely on others for victory is a source of immense mental turmoil and often leaves them full of self-loathing.
They place immense value in the lives of others, even those who have or will harm them, to the point that they are willing to be harmed to help them. Seeing others casually disregard the lives of others serves as one of the things that anger them the most.
They are both prone to obsessively possessive behavior and have sometimes even directed it towards the one they love. This often leads to them getting in trouble due to their jealousy.
There are more similarities I could point out, but you get the point.
Where am I going with this though? Ferris is clearly a parallel to Subaru, but what does he represent regarding him? Put simply, I believe Ferris is meant to represent what Subaru could've been if his parents were just a bit different.
Parent and Child is one of the most crucial chapters for informing us about just the kind of person Subaru is. Perhaps the most important piece is how it helps us understand just how much of his current personality is a result of his father. Subaru not only looked up to him but actively mimicked him to achieve his goals. The pressure of the surrounding world caused him to default to trying to be his father instead of who he truly was. Subaru's parents weren't perfect. In fact, they were very flawed people. Regardless of this fact though, they are responsible for many of Subaru's positive traits.
Tumblr media
The same is true for Ferris and his shitbag of a father. If you were to ask any novel reader what Ferris' defining trait as a character is, they would probably say anger or bitterness.
This isn't surprising, as that's how he typically acts towards everyone except Crusch and Fourier, even when it comes to friends such as Julius.
I would argue, however, that this is merely an act he defaults to when he is stressed or angry, similar to Subaru's mimicry of his own father.
During his bitter moments, such as his cold statement to Subaru as he leaves Crusch's mansion in Arc 4, Ferris is merely defaulting to what he has learned to be the best method of dealing with his stress...a method that is eerily similar to how Biehn sometimes acts in EX 1.
Tumblr media
Whether Ferris acknowledges it or not, his attitude at his worst moments makes him come off like his father. He can be cruel, sometimes even callous. He shows intense rage when he doesn't get his way and attacks the part of his opponent that is most vulnerable.
This attitude can blind him to the point that he can even hypocritically act racist towards Emilia. Ferris' entire life has been defined by discrimination. In the face of someone he should know has faced many of the same issues, he once again acts almost exactly like his own father.
Tumblr media
It was in the middle of a mental breakdown, but that does not excuse him just like it does not excuse Subaru.
Speaking of his parents, it's also notable how their inability to connect with Ferris parallels Naoko and Kenichi's struggles with Subaru.
Ferris' dad is a bombastic, loud man who was (once) well-respected and causes many of Ferris's issues through his actions and Ferris' emulation of him. His fatal flaw in the end was that he could not understand Ferris, similar to how Kenichi could not fully understand Subaru.
Tumblr media
Ferris' mom, on the other hand, fully understood the distress he was under but did not have the confidence to interfere or make a change as Ferris wasted away, similar to Naoko's inability to help Subaru when he most needed it.
Tumblr media
That's not to say Kenichi or Naoko are even a thousandth as bad as either of those two, but their struggles with their child deeply parallel each other.
Back on track though, I want to highlight a bit more of Ferris' parallels with his father using perhaps the most damning example.
This specific scene is from "The Saga of the Great Crusch-sama Begins." When faced with his mother, whom he hates so much, he attempts to stab her in the chest. Crusch gets caught in the crossfire causing Felix to freak out and unlock his water magic to save her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What can at first be written off as just a unique origin for Ferris' water magic gets recontextualized hard in EX 1, where it's revealed his father killed his mother in the exact same method.
Tumblr media
It's such an eerie similarity and something that I feel gets overlooked too often when discussing Ferris.
As shown in scenes like the one above, Ferris often projects this image of hatred, bitterness, and malice. It's easy to write that off as just the kind of person he is as so many often do...
...but there's obviously more to it than this. There is far more to Ferris than his mimicry of his father.
Ferris doesn't allow himself to be vulnerable very often in the story. Only when he is with Fourier and Crusch, as well as when he is in the most intense moments of crisis, does he show who he actually is. Stress is the best test of character after all.
The best example to me? His confrontation with the father he so often emulates.
If Ferris was actually as vindictive as he so often outwardly acts, how would you expect him to react to the death of a man he hated so much?
Wouldn't he taunt him? Wouldn't he make his last moments a living hell? Wouldn't he crow in pleasure at his agony? Would you be able to even blame Ferris if he made Biehn's last moments hell?
You would expect that...but that's not how he reacts. At that moment, watching as the man who tortured him so much dies an awful death, he just shows sadness. He thinks about the possibility that they could've just worked things out. He just wishes that things could be different.
Tumblr media
Despite everything his father had done to him, despite all the rage at the world Ferris projects, the moment he is put into a scenario he likely dreamed of he can't help but feel pity that this was the only route he could take. He never wanted to hurt even Biehn of all people.
And this, I believe, is Ferris's actual defining trait underneath his persona of cynicism and bitterness: kindness and a greater love for life than perhaps anyone else in the series.
Ferris's power, as Fourier once said, is the kindest in the world. At his core, Ferris is just as kind as his power.
Tumblr media
Think about it. Despite Ferris's words, what is the thing that upsets him most?
People who waste their lives. Whether it be Subaru, Fourier, a random Vollachian guard, or even Witch Cultists...Ferris can't bring himself to watch life be thrown away. It just hurts him, regardless of how horrible the person is.
Tumblr media
Just like Subaru, Ferris wants to help everyone, even if it costs him so much. The pain that he feels when he is unable to do so is immeasurable, as Subaru himself states in Volume 8. He is struggling with the same realization as Subaru: saving some people is impossible.
Tumblr media
So where will this lead? What does this have to do with the themes of the story? Well, to answer that, I’ll have to take a little diversion to talk about one of the more…difficult topics involving Ferris.
Ferris and his relationship with gender is something that I feel a lot of the fanbase is really fucking weird about. Even ignoring the pretty deep-rooted transphobia in a lot of discussions involving him (he isn't trans, but he is heavily trans-coded and there really shouldn't be so much of an issue in letting people read into that), there's a feverish desire to deny that his status as a person not conforming to gender norms matters at all. All too often, people reduce it to just a fetish or something to make jokes about.
The reason this is such a bafflingly stupid take though is because of how blatant the importance is to anyone who has read EX 1. Even Tappei himself has stated that many of the things he wants to do with Ferris could not be done without this aspect of his character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ferris's non-conformance is part of a promise made with Crusch. Ferris took on her femininity while Crusch took on his masculinity. It's a promise between the two that proves their devotion to one another. It's the ultimate symbol of their affection for one another.
Tumblr media
In Aganau IF Ferris dresses and acts more masculine, precisely because his connection to Crusch no longer exists.
Tumblr media
I'd also argue it's why he continues to dress as he does even when Crusch no longer has her memories, desperately holding onto the literal symbol of the bond between them.
However, unlike Crusch who seems to love who she is both when taking on more masculine and feminine traits, finding a balance between them; Ferris can't do the same. He sees it merely as a means to show his devotion rather than something he does for himself.
Tumblr media
He constantly expresses that it is all for Crusch and Crusch alone. If anything he seems to resent his inability to fulfill any kind of masculine role, as shown once again in his conversation with Biehn in EX 1.
When pushed to finally unleash all his true feelings to Biehn, what does he bring up as the main reason for his resentment? His abuse? His coldness? His murder of his mother? Any of the innumerable unforgivable things Biehn has done to him?
No. Ferris points at his body. He anguishes over his skinny arms, his inability to wield a sword, his lack of muscle, and his lack of fighting prowess. He hates his lack of masculine features and how he's unable to live up to his idea of what Crusch's knight should be.
Tumblr media
He literally sees his masculinity as something stolen from him by his father; leaving him so empty that he needed something else to fill that void.
Crusch gave him something to fill that void. Crusch gave him a way to live. Crusch filled his soul...but he still resents what he "has" to be.
Tumblr media
Now does that mean he resents Crusch? No, of course not. But he does resent that this is the only thing he can do for her; the only person he can be. Deep down, he doesn't seem to want to be the way he is, and instead of trying to change that he gives in to despair.
He's stuck in that hatred, in that desire to meet Crusch's expectations, and in that moment where a starving child begged to be released and was finally brought into the light. In many ways, he acts like a child.
This is quite literally represented in him preventing himself from going through puberty; a symbol in many stories of transitioning from childhood to adulthood. He sees his current form as a shackle whether he realizes it or not.
Tumblr media
Now does that mean that Ferris should disregard his femininity entirely? Throwing away the representation of his love for Crusch and something that has defined him for so long seems as self-destructive as staying stuck. What's the solution? Where is his arc going?
Well, before that, I want to cover one last thing before I have to delve into Arc 8 spoilers. There's a bit of a side tangent I want to go on.
With everything I've been able to point out up to here, it's clear that Ferris is a remarkably complex character. There's so much to read into and talk about.
So why is he so hated?
He's so similar to Subaru, possibly the most popular character in the novel fandom. Despite all the claims of him being the worst and me highlighting his character's flaws, he hasn't done anything more morally dubious than the vast majority of characters in this series, even when he was pushed to the edge. This is especially true when compared to some of the most popular characters like Subaru or Roswaal. Hell, characters even more directly belligerent than Ferris like Priscilla don't get half the hate (though Priscilla's perception has...its own issues).
Why does he get disregarded so often? Why is he often treated as shallow fetish fuel? Why is he just reduced to being an asshole in every discussion that involves him?
Well, I have a few I can point out.
The first is, most obviously, misinformation. A large portion of the novel reader base has not read Arcs 1-4 in the LN and has very warped views of some of the characters in that section of the story. Ferris is just the most blatant example.
I can't count the number of times I've heard people just blatantly lie about or exaggerate what Ferris did in Arc 3. From the "mana bomb" that has LITERALLY no basis in the text to the "brainwashing" scene treated as a comedy bit that is exaggerated to hell, people go out of their way to interpret him in the worst light possible.
Many of the people who haven't read those sections then see Ferris's ribbing of Subaru in Arc 5 and then run with those pieces of misinformation; spreading it to the point that many believe some blatant lies to be fact.
The second is simply that a lot of people in the fandom don't read the side stories. I don't particularly blame a lot of these people, as there is a lot to get through, but there are a lot of people who take advantage of this for...certain reasons.
This leads to the third point...shipping. Ferris suffers from "Die for our ship" syndrome (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DieForOurShip…). A lot of people like Crusch x Subaru and Crusch loves Ferris so that ends up being more than enough for some people to hate him.
That's not representative of even close to every Crusch x Subaru shipper, of course, it's just a notable trend that it's hard to pretend doesn't exist with some of them.
All of these factors often go hand-in-hand with the final factor: the fandom's immense double standards when it comes to certain characters.
I'm not going to go into deep detail with this as it would distract from the main point of the thread...but you know what I mean if you've interacted with the community for a significant period of time. It also doesn't help that many of the same people in this category tend to be incredibly bigoted.
Ferris isn't the only character subjected to these double standards, as characters like Emilia and Ram often face similar purposeful misinterpretations, but his frequently unfair critiques have affected his reputation negatively perhaps more than any other.
This isn't to say that this is all true for everyone who hates Ferris. There are numerous reasons you may just not be interested in his character.
However, I feel it's dishonest to pretend Ferris isn't often targeted far more than other characters for often lacking reasons.
With that out of the way, I can move on to the last thing I wanted to cover in this thread. I have established a lot here, so I want to speculate about the future.
From this point forward there are unmarked Arc 8 spoilers, so...you can't argue I wasn't careful. I don't blame you at all for leaving now and I thank you for reading my ramblings.
*
*
*
Are you still here? Ok, let's start.
With all of the above established, I want to return to the question of where Ferris' arc will go in the future. My belief? I think it will be something similar to what Pre-Amnesia Crusch has already realized, with Felix’s closest parallel in Subaru being close to doing the same.
Crusch, as I mentioned before, has found balance in the two aspects of her life. Throughout the story, she switches seamlessly between the two without a second thought. She is comfortable and happy with both parts of herself.
Tumblr media
Subaru is also on a similar path. He feels most comfortable in embracing his feminine side, idealizing it through Natsumi. All his confidence is channeled into that persona, while the other two aspects of his personality (his main self who has all the self-worth of an abandoned puppy and his child self who is representative of his more masculine traits) are imbalanced.
Tumblr media
Arc 8 seems to be going in a direction where he realizes how important all of these aspects of him are. All 3 have flaws. None of them are "complete," just pieces of the coherent whole that is Natsuki Subaru.
I believe a similar thing will happen with Ferris.
He will need to find a balance between Ferris, his feminine side that has defined him for so long, and Felix the masculine identity he craves. He needs to find a role that makes him as happy as Crusch was, accepting who he is while striving to become who he wants to be.
I don't expect that to be easy though. In fact, I think the path to get there will be immensely messy and self-destructive.
The idea of Ferris having a breakdown or lashing out has been well-foreshadowed throughout the story. He has had numerous smaller outbursts and has displayed similar problems to Arc 3 Subaru when pushed to an extreme. There's a large amount of toxicity in him that will rush out, sooner or later. It will likely take similar levels of suffering to force him to get a grip, possibly hurting Crusch in the process.
Who do I believe to be the trigger for this? My best guess is Capella.
It is quite possible Capella freed Sphinx and recreated her arms initially. Why would she do this? Why not? We're seeing firsthand how much of a monster Sphinx can be with the Sacrament of the Immortal King. Why wouldn't someone like Capella want something like that under her control?
Tumblr media
Of course, Sphinx is almost certainly dying soon. Capella will need a replacement, and who's the only other potential user of the Sacrament? Ferris.
There's also the idea that Capella may have poisoned the Royal Family and, most importantly, Fourier. If Capella does become the main antagonist for Ferris, that could serve as motivation for him to want her dead regardless of his own reservations about killing.
Adding onto this is the fact that shapeshifting is a power with a long history of being associated with identity issues. Tappei likes making his antagonists strong narrative foils to his protagonists, so it would be interesting to contrast Ferris' identity issues with the potentially strong identity issues of Capella.
Finally, there's a lot of potential for her tragic past to parallel Ferris' past, with many implications that the Royal Family may not exactly have treated Emerada the best. The idea that the Royal Family may have locked her away is not implausible and it could make their connections even stronger.
Whatever that breakdown leads to, I expect Crusch and/or Subaru to be the one who snaps him out of it. This will likely be the catalyst that forces Ferris to find a balance. He'll need to let go of things like his self-blame over being unable to help Fourier, his internalized hatred of his current identity, his idealization of Crusch, and his need to save everyone. Ferris's love will finally allow him to grow and change into a person who is the middle ground between his desires and his true self.
After all, that's what Re: Zero is truly about: love and growth. Almost every character reflects this and, if my interpretation of Ferris is right, he could embody that theme just as much as Subaru himself does.
He could be a shining bastion of what this story is all about.
Of course, this is all just my interpretation and speculation. If you disagree with it, feel free to. I just hope I was able to make you appreciate Ferris a bit more/changed your mind on how much potential his character has.
I wish whoever is reading this a nice day!

The unpleasant and miasmic metallic taste kept filling up his mouth the more he tried to pull the long thorny vines out of his already severely scraped and swollen larynx. The disgusting red petals… Their obnoxiously vibrant redness was almost mocking his current affliction and distress.
Those stupid roses and their damned thorns.
Subaru hated this… It was her fault for not loving him back, if she actually loved him too, he wouldn't be in so much agony.
Yui made him love her, and he despised her for that.
At this point, Subaru can't tell whether he wants to strangle her for causing him so much pain… Or even shoving thorny stems down her throat so she knows what it's like to be barely able to talk.
Maybe he wants to cry to her on his knees and beg Yui to love him so this pain would end.
Subaru was sick of shoving his hand down his already inflamed throat to pull out these abhorrent flowers that people seem to love for no damn good reason.
The perennial discomfort he felt was suffocating, which gave him the glimmer of hope that he won't make it to next season. But he remembered that he was a vampire, and that hope was but a fairytale.
Reiji was walking, going about his usual daily business, and heard the cloying sound of choking and gagging that made his skin crawl, so he took it upon himself to intrude into his youngest sibling's room to investigate.
"What on Earth is making you produce such a wretched sound? Explain yourself, Subaru.", snapped Reiji, folding his slender arms and examining the rose petals and thorns on the ground.
"Go away, Reiji… You-"
Subaru's insult was interrupted by the sickening feeling in his stomach, making him vomit seconds later and falling to his weak knees in response. Reiji stared at the petals floating in the repugnant bile, but it hardly stirred a reaction.
"T-This is her fault, it's a-all that bitch's fault!", He spluttered, doing everything in his power to calm himself down and to take his mind off the acidic burning in his stomach and throat.
Reiji simply raised an eyebrow in response, thinking that another one of his brothers has finally lost their senses.
"Come now, I cannot assist you if I do not know the source of your issue. Tell me immediately, because you've sounded dreadful for the past few weeks and, frankly, it is bothersome to me."
Subaru was too embarrassed to confide in Reiji, no, confiding was absolutely out of the question. It was common sense and the norm in that household to keep their internal issues to themselves, and if one did confide in another, they'd only receive but a judgemental gaze and a scoff in return.
"You're coughing up flowers… Hanahaki is it?", Mused Reiji.
"W-What's that?", mumbled Subaru, making Reiji's heart slightly sink from hearing how one of his loudest brothers' voice is so hoarse and barely even there.
Reiji sat next to Subaru and hesitated to talk to Subaru about this conundrum.
The elder brother felt like a mother who was asked where a baby came from by her child. However, the subject of love was a rare thing to speak of… Much more than something as simple to them as the pleasures of flesh. But even that would warrant something being thrown at them.
"You're in love, and the person who you love doesn't love you back… Thus the roses with the thorns. Which tells me that you love this person very much… Which is odd, considering what we are after all.", He murmured, which was odd for someone who always spoke so confidently.
Subaru was so close to an ebullition of agony from how badly he desired to gain the love of the blonde sacrifice. This burning feeling blooming the more he thought about her pulchritudinous expression, tranquille and sweet, even when she was in pain from his fangs.
"...Yui."
"So it is her who has caused this reaction… Unfortunately, Subaru… She too, has been coughing up flowers."

I read your post about Ayato overhype and I 200% agree with you and appreciate you for writing it. I also read that other person's Ayato analysis and I just gotta say that that cursed fig defense is so dumb. First off that shit wasn't a thing when More Blood came out. It's not mentioned or referenced even once in any route. Because why would it be? It wasn't even thought of when the first games came out. Second even if it were a thing and Ayato truly was cursed, then why doesn't he experience the effects of the curse in any routes apart from his More Blood one (and, according to this particular Ayato stan, Ruki's)? Why doesn't he go crazy from thirst in Kou's route? Or in Subaru's? Or in Shuu's? etc etc. Also, if the curse is truly that excrutiating and debilitating then shouldn't Ayato be a complete and utter mess in the other characters Dark Fate, Lost Eden etc. routes? But he's not. He's totally fine. Because the stupid curse isn't canon to the games and you can not and should not use it to explain or justify his awful behavior in Ruki's MB route.
I'm sorry this got kind of long but I just needed to get this off my chest because it bothers me so much when toxic Ayato stans insist he is oh so pure of heart, an innocent victim and that he unlike the other characters can't be held accountable for his abusive acts 😑
(feel free to vent out in my ask box I don't mind. and sorry for the late reply, life is hectic)
the curse thing is such a loop/plot hole because in more blood EVERY diaboy gets thirsty after starting to have feelings for Yui, so yeah that curse thing isn't canon. and exactly! if that's the case, why isn't ayato suffering from thirst in other's route. okay let's not include MB considering the argument "they weren't close enough" but by the DF, all Sakamaki and Mukami boys warmed up to Yui, so Ayato should be suffering from thirst/curse in other's route????
I liked ayato, but after youngblood when I saw some people(not targeting to anyone, and I'm not just talking about Tumblr), not liking other people shipping Yui with any other boy because "they are not canon" made me slowly detach from AyaYui. otherwise they were in my top 5 a few years ago.
youngblood was just a fanservice. it was good for Ayato fans but Rejet messed it up. first the curse thing then the degrading of Shu and Subaru's character by making them "betray" ayato. which irks me because we all have read flashback scenes of these two from the VERY FIRST GAME, and we are completely aware with how sweet and gentle they were in childhood.
In CL, in Shu's route, it was shown how much he deeply cares about his brothers despite not showing it. so does it go for Subaru in Carla's route. you hear it? not in his OWN route but Carla's route.
the only difference is, because of trauma they weren't sure how to express it and always doubted/hesitated to trust or show true feelings to each other because of what happened to them. they all went through different experiences.
Ayato is Ruki's rival, just like how Subaru is for Kou, and Shu for Yuma. Ayato just came to take away Yui as a prey. "his thirst wasn't controllable and was locked in a dungeon. it was definitely the curse."
the curse didn't even exist at that time. it was just Rejet's plot to progress Ruki's route because if we remember, Ruki asked Ayato, before he took away Yui, if he had feelings for her and ayato replied with, feelings??? that's nonsense, the only value she has is her blood. It was a scene of confirmation to make Ruki realise his feelings and stop thinking "Adam is what she needs and not a snake" so that he can finally betray Karlheinz for Yui and run away with her, free her from this hell.
in conclusion, we have seen every diaboy saying how unique and special Yui's blood is, also a very rare thing (i guess?) so because of instincts as a vampire, Ayato only wanted to find Yui to drink her special blood.
the curse thing can never be canon because everyone gets thirsty in their route, EVEN SHIN in his BRUTE ending in DF. so are they cursed too??? no they aren't 😭
some actions can never be justifiable, I'll even say that about my own fav characters like Shin, Subaru, Carla, Reiji, etc.

Why such a tiny waist if you can't squish it. Talking seriously, just like his twins, he has a tiny waist that simply comes from genetics and every japanese girl drools over it and praises his "androgynous" body.
Has the best calves and legs in general, even better than Subaru's. Well, it's self-explaining, his hobby is basketball after all, he's always running and jumping around the basketball court.
He looks like he has a natural concave stomach/belly, but it's actually because his hip bones are prominent and make him look like that.
I think it's so funny how Ayato acts like he's the manliest boy of the house, when he's actually the one that looks physically the most feminine (e.g. small waits, 90° shoulders, slim neck, marked collarbones, etc).
𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰 ⤸
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His body is soft, but skeletal at the same time. It doesn't need much stretching for Kanato's bones to start showing, principally his ribcage.
Anyone can pick him up because he's just so light. But, if you do pick him up, already expect an endless cry together with a tantrum and a thin scream for you to put him on the ground.
Okay, this might sound strange, but I believe he has the best skin out of all the Sakamakis. It's so soft to the touch and scarless, looks like he takes good care of it!
Non-related but still related to his physical appearance: I really hate this shota boy aesthetic Rejet gave him. Please, he had so much more potential to be the worst of them all, if they made Kanato a little bit more mature (personality or appearance, doesn't matter), I would be in love with this boy fr.
𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘰 ⤸
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Likes to stay slim but in shape at the same time. And to be honest, he looks really sexy in tight clothes with his slim body.
I would say that he's not slim like Kanato, more like... first place is Kanato, second place is Laito and third place is Shu.
His arms are long and skinny, that's why I put him as more slim than Shu, but I still think he has a sculptural body that can seduce anyone + matches with his face.
Bonus headcanon: Even if Laito isn't the best when it comes to flirting, I think he has the most seductive body language out of the boys and yes, he can seduce people to do what he wants so easily because of this.
A/N: To end, a MtL muscular build list: 1. Subaru, 2. Ayato, 3. Reiji, 4. Shu, 5. Laito and 6. Kanato. See you in the next post! 💗

How do you think the counselors would be as drivers? What kind of cars do you think they would own?
oooh this is fun to think about!! i also don't know anything about cars so prepare for unfiltered, no context nonsense! but srsly thank you so much for the ask, i love to Brainrot <3 sorry this took so long, i needed to chew on it
Jacob - as much as i love ragging on our beefy boy, i do think he's a good driver. i don't think he would've been trusted to drive the van if he wasn't & i can see him having a pickup truck. maybe he gets it from his dad/parents on his 18th birthday? i have. Theories 👀 maybe got like,,, a couple speeding tickets in high school & his truck is probably old & beat up & red for sure. otherwise, he gets a subaru & no i won't explain
Kaitlyn - everyone on the road is stupid & in her way & "why is this even a 30 mph speed limit when it goes up to 45 in like a mile???" it's not so much that she's a bad driver, she's just impatient & pissed off by everyone else. when she's in a bad mood, unfortunately she sometimes parks like an asshole :( & she's jumped a curb or two when she's in a rush. a fistful of parking tickets & half as many speeding tickets have made her a tad more cautious but she still doesn't like driving. she would 100% have a Jeep, but i would LOVE to see her on a motorbike
Ryan - public transportation boy. he has a subway pass, he doesn't have to deal with traffic, it's perfect. he prolly could drive if he had to but he'd really rather not & he's a bit hesitant when he does. buick verano, one of the most car-looking cars ever
Tumblr media
Dylan - also prolly a public transportation boy, he tends to be an anxious driver. if he has/had a car, it's an early 2000s, obnoxiously red, chevy cavalier
Tumblr media
Nick - i know dunking on Nick is my brand & i very much enjoy it, he's a Slimy Boi, but begrudgingly, i think he's an okay driver. he's not anyone's first choice to drive when they go out but it's not a big deal if he ends up behind the wheel. i think he got one of his parents' old vehicles after they got a new one, so maybe either an old, small truck, or an old hatchback
Emma - the darling love of my life is a Woman In A Hurry. she should prolly have more speeding tickets than she does & she WILL make it thru the yellow light before it turns red, no matter how impossible that is. her turns are usually sharp, she doesn't slow down enough for speed bumps, & if there's no one around, she usually rolls thru stop signs. it makes everyone in the vehicle very nervous so she usually doesn't drive. she also can't drive on ice. she has a kia rio or similar style car
Tumblr media
Abi - she's actually a really good driver. she has good reflexes, she's attentive, & obeys all traffic laws. she needs her maps app to get anywhere but her ability to leave in time to get places five minutes early no matter the road conditions is uncanny. she's never gotten a ticket & she wants to keep it that way. she isn't comfortable driving big vehicles & she for sure has a volkswagen beetle
Tumblr media
Laura & Max - maybe cheating a bit here to combine them, but i have my reasons. i think they're both good drivers, honestly. i think they swap out the driver's seat pretty often - Max is better at night driving & long distance, but Laura usually drives during the day, around town, & for any daily errands. Laura's more likely to have gotten a ticket or two for not paying attention to the parking or going over the speed limit without really meaning to have gone so fast, but Max has definitely accidentally blown a couple stop signs bc he didn't notice them until the last second. his vehicle is the one they're in during the prologue - i'll be honest, i have no idea what kind it is, i've been googling cars this entire time. i think Laura has some type of sedan from around 2009
Tumblr media
sorry this was so long - i only put pictures for vehicles i was rlly specific on, incase you're like me & don't know ✨anything✨ about vehiculars. please enjoy my headcannons
thank you again!!

I’m gonna hope that you forgot to update the requests are closed thing since you just made a post abt them being open🙏 but can you do Subaru and Kanato reacting to Laito triggering the reader into a panic attack after he tried to force himself on them??
Tw: Laito who does not understand how love works and Angry Kanato.
If you’re expecting a cute Kanto Fluff where Kanato hugs and comforts the reader now is a good opportunity to turn back. Seriously
Kanato Sakamaki
Tumblr media
Okay Kanato would be really angry with both you and his brother.
He is angry because this dared to touch his human.
He's mad at you because he thought you were cheating on him with Laito.
You can try to explain to Kanato that this is not the case.
But we know what happens when Kanato is angry.
When he is angry logic YEEEET out the window with such force that will result in a small-scale natural disaster.
It is useless to expect any hugs or therapeutic help from him.
Instead, he will punish you.
Your panic attacks will definitely intensify at this point.
Which further irritates Kanato.
You shouldn't cry because this is your fault.
Fuck this situation is a disaster.
His brothers will definitely have to intervene and reassure both you and Kanato.
Kanato can't do it.
He is too afraid of being rejected again.
Two guys are needed to hold him back from Kanato committing murder.
You or Laito?
Just the same as long as someone dies.
Don't be like Kanato.
Remember to go to therapy if you have trauma because of your parents.
Subaru Sakamaki
Tumblr media
Okay.
Subaru would be horrified when he saw this situation.
That was exactly why he didn't want you to leave his room.
He would definitely pull Laito out of you.
He tells Laito to stay away from you.
To enhance the effect of the words, he hits Laito's head against the wall a couple of times.
It's not beautiful to look at.
Subaru can yell at you something about how fucking stupid you were.
But he stops after he saw your tears.
Subaru doesn't really know how to lose weight and panic.
He would be really bothered.
Maybe he would try to do how other people have acted.
Would Pat your head and say it's over now.
Or maybe he hugs you and tries to comfort you.
He really tries but the situation is so new to him.
Subaru will protect you better after this.
He doesn't want his brothers to hurt you anymore.

Yoshida is a weird guy [Chainsaw Man Manga Spoilers]
Statement of the century but this unusual possibly homosexual guy has peaked my interest with the fact he's a metaphorical harbinger of disaster. He's frankly even more lucky than Kobeni in a separate sort of way. Whenever he shows up it's soon before or after a disaster of some kind happens. So like a rational human I decided to go through and read every chapter in which he appears or is mentioned. Before I get into the deep of it I'd like to show this Denji panel I've never seen anyone post before.
Tumblr media
Right, getting into it now. Yoshida's first mention is in chapter 53. His first appearance is in chapter 55.
Tumblr media
Makima asked for Yoshida specifically. I'm choosing not to read to deeply into the placement of the speech bubbles but it is interesting that he is completely separate from the other 3. For a refresher Kusakabe is contracted with the stone devil. Tamaoki and Subaru are basically just jobbers in the scheme of this arc. Now the thing I want to focus in on is that Yoshida is a private hunter. He's able to get by just fine without help. We see this in part 2, However his only known contract is with the octopus devil. A contract which seems to cost Yoshida nothing.
Tumblr media
Previously stated his first appearance is in chapter 55. This chapter gives us absolutely nothing. He seems like a background character since this is the same chapter where we see the triplets go into action. Which fits with his character in that he just consistently fades into the background.
Tumblr media
56 goes much the same.
Tumblr media
However in 57 shit with Yoshida starts to become more clear. I would like to bring up his reaction here as juxtaposed to Aki since it seems like the comparison was somewhat intentional. This was right after Power hit one of triplets with Kobeni's Car. I'm unable to fully express why his expression seems almost downplayed in comparison to everyone else who is losing their shit. This alone means jack shit in all honesty. His next scene is what's important. Yoshida presumably completely alone tracks down the two remaining brothers and straight up executes one of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's almost like he's mocking the surviving brother silently. He absolutely knows that this random guy is the final brother but he lets him live. His expression after having just murdered a man is also very unsettling especially for chainsaw man where people tend to have adverse reactions to taking lives. Being emotionless and even HAPPY after having killed someone is reserved for the insane and the villains. Yoshida has almost an uncanny knowledge of everything happening at any given time as we see more evidently later. His next appearance is in chapter 59.
Yoshida does nothing in chapter 59 except state the abilities of the Doll Devil. In fact Yoshida is almost completely missing from chapter 60 only appearing in a singular panel. I missed this one and I had to go back and scan for him specifically because the wiki said he was in the chapter.
Tumblr media
Yoshida will just completely vanish into the background when he isn't actively doing something to the point even while searching specifically for him I missed him. Now once the fighting begins Yoshida is rather interesting because he's entirely on the defensive. He's also deceptively fast as he was able to react to Quanxi and avoid taking damage almost entirely from the initial attack.
Tumblr media
It certainly explains how he's able to go it solo.
Tumblr media
I'd like to take this time to appreciate this amazing panel for the reveal of the octopus devil. However I find it interesting that we only ever see a single tentacle of it. It's likely that Yoshida has a similar sort of contract as public safety hunters have with the Fox Devil. However Yoshida seems to show no signs of any sort of cost per use. Which insinuates one of two things. That his contract with the octopus devil had an upfront cost that he paid and as such doesn't need to pay again with each use. Or that his contract has NO COST. We again see his speed with the Ink Attack, But he quickly gets his ass handed to him because he's fighting Quanxi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This establishes that Yoshida is clearly mortal at least in the physical sense. But I still don't know what to make of it. I doubt if he was literally the horseman of death or adjacent to it (I'll touch on that later) that he'd lose this fight so easily. The only explanation I can really come up with is that he lost this fight intentionally knowing what Kishibe was planning. However that's a shaky theory at best. Due to what happens next I'll choose to interpret this as Yoshida being taken off guard by his hubris. Clearly he didn't expect Quanxi to be able to counter this attack so easily. Chapter 62, Yoshida is immediately back up after being full on jaw kicked by Quanxi. Given he had the time of the conversation between Quanxi and Kishibe to recover but the fact is he's able to box with Quanxi this time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While he's still clearly outmatched strength wise he's able to full on fight with a weaponless Quanxi. Given Quanxi is most powerful with her weapons, This is still an insane feat of Skill, Speed, And Strength. Quanxi's durability is basically human if not slightly above it from what we see. Main take away from this is that Yoshida is 1. Extremely skilled in melee combat. 2. Used to winning confrontations.
This is likely one of the main reasons people believe Yoshida and Kishibe to be related in someway. The idea of Yoshida having been trained by Kishibe holds some water due to his immense speed and skill at close ranged combat. Now onto chapter 63 which has some very interesting implications which aren't directly stated. YOSHIDA GETS THROWN OUT THE FUCKING WINDOW
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is literally seconds before Santa Clause summons the hell devil to send everyone in the building to hell. Yoshida was able to avoid being sent to hell by seemingly pure chance. However I would like to bring attention to Yoshida's pose. It's the number 4. Additionally it seems to be in clear reference to the Hanged Man tarot card. I'm not gonna act like I thought up this Tarot connection that was another user who's post I can't find at the moment. I'll add a comment to this if I find it later.
I won't patronize you and act like you've never heard of the connection between the number 4 and death in Japan. It's a rather common fact so I'll keep it brief. The number 4 has a similar pronunciation to Death, Pronounced "Shi" in Japanese. This has lead to it being seen as an unlucky number.
Now keep this connection to death, It'll be very important later. Due to not being sent to hell he's absent from those chapters and only shows up again in chapter 67. In which he is using the Octopus devil to subdue some dolls. Additionally using it as a chair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This suggests like before that Yoshida has a level of control over the Octopus devil that other summon-type contracts don't. It's possible the Octopus devil is just more chill but I couldn't really imagine a devil just letting humans sit on it. Onto the conversation itself Yoshida calls himself "Third-Tier". Which is just straight up a lie. His abilities are leagues above what the other hired mercenaries managed to do. This either shows a degree of humbleness or just outright downplaying his abilities. Now, onto the most interesting thing.
Tumblr media
Yoshida knows about Makima's eavesdropping ability. There are two explanations for this. The first being that he had gotten up right as the conversation between Quanxi and Kishibe started and he saw the writing on the notepad and figured it out himself. Or #2 (Which I find more likely) is that he already knew. He knew specifically that Makima could hear through animal's ears and not just that she could hear everything related to her or something. It's a very specific detail which insinuates he knows more than he lets on.
Tumblr media
If you'll remember earlier I called Yoshida luckier than Kobeni. This is why. He completely avoids danger just by pure coincidence several times. He just happens to be at the right place at the right time to avoid anything above his paygrade. I shouldn't have to state that this is unique to Yoshida as no other character is afforded the luxury of being able to completely avoid these types of encounters off pure chance alone. Even Kobeni was forced into the final fight but Yoshida completely avoided it. Yoshida's final appearance in part 1 is chapter 70. In which he blindfolds himself while Makima executes Quanxi and her girls.
Tumblr media
[Darkness]
Tumblr media
This is the last time Yoshida appears. So that's a fucking lot yeah? I'll summarize the important parts. 1. Yoshida is extremely lucky to the point he escapes major series altering events by seemingly pure coincidence. 2. He has a contract with the Octopus devil which seems to have no usage cost what so ever, Allowing him to do basically whatever he wants with it. 3. He is insanely skilled in close combat and is able to fight on par with Quanxi (When he isn't underestimating her) 4. (Most important of all) Yoshida knows things he shouldn't. He's far more knowledgeable than almost every other character in the series excluding a hand full of the extremely skilled top tiers. Makima, Santa, Kishibe, Ect. I'll keep the part 2 stuff brief due to the length of this post already, I'll do a second one eventually. (Probably once we the Asa interaction ends.) so I'll only touch on two specific things. 1. Yoshida knows about the existence of the Death Devil, Which has only ever been mentioned by Makima. No one else has even eluded to it.
Tumblr media
2. He knows about Famine. Yoshida is the only one who actually looks at Famine after the aquarium encounter. It even gets it's own entire page which denotes it as being very important.
Tumblr media
So what is Yoshida? I'm honestly still not sure. He could just be a human, He could be possessed by a devil, He could be a fiend (doubtful), Hell he could even be a horseman. The idea of Yoshida being the horseman of death has been thrown around however I honestly doubt it. Primarily due to his eyes.
Tumblr media
We know that the primary indicator of a horseman is their eyes which we have seen in every member of it so far. Yet Yoshida's eyes are pure black. While it's possible he wears contacts. I doubt this is the solution since Chainsaw Man doesn't seem like the kind of series to pull that kind of twist. "I was wearing contacts Denji and now that they're off I'm evil." - Yoshida in chapter 300 However Yoshida being the Death Devil's incarnation would certainly be an interesting twist especially if he want Denji to kill it. However if his goal was to have chainsaw man eat the Death Devil and he is it, He probably would've acted on it by now. But there is a caveat to the Chainsaw's Devil erasure. It only works on a Devil's actual body. When Denji ate Makima at the end of Part 1 it didn't get rid of the control devil. Still Yoshida has skills and knowledge that a seemingly random 15 year old should not have. He's apart of a shadowy organization which he claims is "totally not evil". Yoshida demonstrates a knowledge of his surroundings which is only rivaled by characters like Makima and (From what we've seen of her) Famine. My only guess that what Yoshida is planning is something I'll call "The Extinction of fear". Yoshida's organization wants to create a calm life for chainsaw man. The best way to do that is to get rid of devils completely, There is no need for a Chainsaw Man if there are no devils for him to kill.

Admin, may we know if there is something that bothers you about Ayato?
// Although Ayato is my best boy, there are some aspects that bother me, but not necessarily about him but about the way he was written throughout the games. It’s alright if you disagree with me, this is simply my opinion!
To begin with, Ayato is described as an awful narcissist in the first character sheet. Because they're vampires, DL characters must be sadistic, and I loved that they made them cruel, because humans are just prey in their eyes, and they're basically monsters. Returning to Ayato, he fit the DO-S criteria until they decided to make him the most heroic and selfless Diaboy of them all out of the blue. True, these aren't bad traits at all, and I believe in character development, but in Ayato's case, it was already far too much to the point where he almost lost his initial personality.
I talked with some of my friends about it and it feels as if Rejet victimizes Ayato. You may be wondering how they do that, but bear with me as I explain. In LE, Ayato is the only character who has no allies (except for Yui), he receives no apology, and everyone begins to hate him in such an OOC manner. I described it better in this post and honestly, Rejet made everyone way too mean towards him. I’m sure at least Laito or Subaru would have felt bad for Ayato in such a situation but they actually didn’t and that was way too uncharacteristic. I have the impression that they wanted to villainize other characters in order to make the audience pity Ayato and be like “No, my poor baby! You’re too good for this game!” or stuff like that.
They also gave him two other major roles in LE to demonstrate what a good person/brother he is. In Laito's route, he helps his brother by filling up the place, checking on the Demon World for him, and occasionally looking after Yui. Then, in Kino's route, he sort of becomes Yui's lover and sacrifices himself for her, being burned alive by Kino. After Yui is finally brainwashed, Ayato notices that she has begun to like Kino and allows her to be with him. Excuse me, what—? That doesn't seem like something Ayato would do, especially since he becomes Yui's best friend and is the first to acknowledge Kino as his brother, despite the fact that he stole his woman, burned him alive, tortured him and planned to sell him to the church.
And guess what? After Lost Eden, Ayato's popularity skyrocketed in Japan, where he literally won first place in a contest held in the Rejet store and second place in the Chaos Lineage poll. Rejet's strategy appears to have been successful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rejet tones down other characters in order to make Ayato shine. We all know Rejet enjoys making Ayato act like a hero, which is fine until they start making other characters look bad, as I previously stated. There's a scene in Young Blood where Shu and Subaru openly admit that they only used Ayato as bait and had no plans to rescue him afterwards. So... are you going to tell me that little Shu and Subaru would actually do something like that? Because I have my doubts. As evidenced by the flashbacks, they were kind children. Once again, it seems that Rejet is forcing the Diaboys to mistreat him in order to make Ayato likeable. He mentions being an outcast at one point, which is clearly not true.
I respect Rejet's work and am grateful that they created DL, but I’m not okay with their obvious bias toward Ayato. They try everything to make him likeable, as if he's the most underrated character. He is literally the most popular Diaboy worldwide; there are people who recognize his face but have no clue about the games or anime. Ayato is already favored; he's on buildings and took part in Anime conventions alongside many well-known characters; there's no need to make him even more popular by giving him more positive traits. People used to like him a lot even in HDB and MB ://

@averyspoopedcorgi wanted to hear about the es dorms changes caused by aira writing enemies to lovers reichi smut brainrot i had with @laly-481 a while ago and i was like. Why not share this to the world
First of all new dorms list:
Dorm 1: Niki, Rinne
Dorm 2: Eichi, Wataru, Tori, Yuzuru
Dorm 3: Leo, Nazuna, Madara, Izumi
Dorm 4: Subaru, Sora, Natsume
Dorm 5: Hiyori, Jun
Dorm 6: Hokuto
Dorm 7: Tatsumi, Mayoi, Tomoya, Shinobu
Dorm 8: Koga, Rei
Dorm 9: Nagisa, Ibara, Tsumugi, Mitsuru
Dorm 10: Midori, Kaoru, Yuta, Hinata
Dorm 11: Ritsu, Mao
Dorm 12: Makoto, Chiaki, Adonis, Kanata
Dorm 13: Mika, Shu
Dorm 14: Keito, Kuro, Souma, Hajime
Dorm 15: HiMERU, Tetora, Arashi
Dorm 16: Aira, Hiiro, Kohaku, Tsukasa
Now I'll try to explain what even the hell happened,,,
(putting under cut because its gonna be LONG)
It all started with laly wondering if enstars fandom would exist in enstars world. I was like "yeah kinda like with k-pop" and we started thinking about who in es would write/read fics of what. Doesn't affect the dorms change just yet but i need to share these hcs:
- Kohaku knows everything about ships (because Aira dragged him in the enstars fandom hellhole) and once accidentally sent HiMERU a HiMERU x Tatsumi fanart instead of a document for work
- Mika reads ALL the Shumika fics
- Aira anonymously writes Hiiro/Kohaku x Reader fics except the reader is actually him because he doesn't have the guts to write actual KoHiiAi. Kohaku once recognize Aira writing style in a fic and ask him about it and Aira is immediately like "noooOOOO I DON'T SEE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT AT ALL"
- Leo hears about Izuleo at one point so he decides to check it out and read fics. And he creates himself an account to write Izuleo fics (that are more like poems-musical writing or something). And now he's trying his best to keep Izumi away from fics because he WILL recognize Leo's style. But the rest of knights ends up learning about Leo's fics and now they use it to blackmail him
- Aira also write Tatsumayo btw
- And now the hc that provokes the dorm changes...Aira also wrote like 3 Rei x Eichi enemies to lovers fics. Rei found it and he knows it has to be Aira because the situations described are way too accurate so it has to be their roommate
Aira: I don't feel safe in my dorm anymore...
Anzu: Why?
Rei, who read entirely the Rei x Eichi smut Aira wrote: ......
Rei spent a week just staring menacingly at him
Koga finds the fic and suddenly everyone in ES has read it (they dont know its Aira who wrote it though)
So Aira, fearing for his life, decides to switch dorms. He first ends up in Hiiro's, with Hinata and Niki
Meanwhile Rei and Eichi are left alone
They stare awkwardly at each other for two days then try to murder each other in their sleep
Eichi ends up paying ES to be in Wataru's dorm (and Rei to not be in Ritsu's)
Mama get kicked out of Wataru's dorm because 5 people is too much, so Leo ends up taking him in his dorm
Suddenly Tori (and Yuzuru) kicked out Subaru and Sora from Wataei's dorm. Now all of fine shares a dorm
Since everyone are changing dorms and its hell and ES doesnt know what to do anymore Hiyori takes action and switches to Jun's (and Kohaku's) dorm. Kohaku, refusing to third-wheel them, joins Hiiai in their dorm, but before he can Tsukasa kidnaps him a second time so he goes to autistic dorm instead
Hiyori starts trying to pay ES so Eichi isn't in Wataru's dorm. But Eichi pay ES too. ES will never have financial problems again
Anyway so yeah at this point ES gives up on keeping order in the dorms and now everyone can go sleep wherever the fuck they want
So HiMERU break in Tatsumi's dorm to kill him scare him
Now Tatsumi decided he was safer in Mayoi's dorm
Koga: Great I have a dorm all for myself and Leon now!
Rei: *enters chat*
Koga: DARN IT
(Rei and Koga shares a dorm now)
One day, Midori look at Kaoru and Yuta, visibly fucking exhausted from this situation
(Midori got kicked out of Ibara's dorm by Nagisa)
Izumi regularly tries to get in Makoto's dorm
Ritsu use this occasion to take his place in Mao's dorm
(Mao: Wait but this is Izumi's bed-
Ritsu: Nope. Not anymore. It's mine now. I live here now.
Pov: Ritsu actually doesn't even use Izumi's bed he sleeps with Mao)
But Makoto won't let Izumi in (and he got Chiaki and Adonis to protect him) so now he's homeless
Izumi: *homeless*
Leo: Hi
Izumi: Nope
Leo: *stay there*
Izumi, who just tried to get in any dorm without success because of his kidnapper reputation: Hey Leo can i stay at your dorm a little
Natsume takes his chance and goes to Sora's and Subaru's dorm
Shu stare at Mao and Ritsu sleeping together, stare at Kuro, and goes: Let's get in Mika's dorm already
Mika is happiest man alive
Kuro: Damn now I'm left alone to third wheel these two *looks at Keito*
Kuro joins Keito's dorm
Souma propose they switch room so Akatsuki is complete and Hokuto just doesn't give a shit about it so he accept (Hokuto just doesn't care anymore at this point)
Mayoi took Shinobu in his room
Tatsumi isn't sure how much Shinobu agreed to come but now he's here he seem okay with it
Hajime is now chilling with Akatsuki, while Tomoya decides to ignore the chaos as there's suddenly two more people in the dorm he shares with Mayoi
Kanata goes in Chiaki's dorm and Rinne's like "now i'm alone :/"
Suddenly Hinata get kicked out and forcefully thrown in his brother's dorm (Rinne be like: Brother + Bf + Gf of brother? Yeah that's my dorm)
Aira convinces Hiiro to take one of the new empty dorms because he SWEARS to god if he's called "Hiiro's little gf" ONE MORE FUCKING TIME-
So now Rinniki are left alone
Rinne is happy
Niki is not (begged Aira to not leave him alone with that man)
Now Niki begs HiMERU to move in their dorm but each time he's straight up "No."
Also Kohaku cutely moves to Hiiai dorm so the poly babies are complete. Except Tsukasa follows him. Oh well
Niki runs aways from Rinne and joins Hokuto
But Rinne joins them anyway afterwards
Niki: At least I'm not alone anymore
Hokuto: *dead inside at this point*
Hokuto decide to go in a room ALL ALONE and to pay ES so he has peace. Now only Trickstar is allowed to come in his dorm but they don't stay Hokuto force them to get out
And. That's it. This is very messy and probably complicated to understand so all you need to know is congrats to gender dorm for being the only og dorm surviving! You're too perfect to be changed

Oh thank goodness and a quick explain on her character in a timeline where she got pregnant
Kianna komori
Ended up getting pregnant as a teenager
Without a doubt horrified and scared
But decided to keep the child
Since she wanted to be there for her child
Unlike her horrible stepfather
But managed to hide her pregnancy before killing off the sakamaki brothers
This is an alternate timeline of mine where is she end up getting pregnant
I don't know why but I have a thing messing what timelines with my characters and imagining what ifs and what scenarios might happen
Yeah I'm sorry if this may come off as weird I really like experimenting with my characters
Since it gets boring writing the same thing sometimes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your life should be good free from sin together with your beloved sister. They both had everything. A home, a family and a father too. There was everything they needed from the mornings when they made pancakes together, to lunch when they baked cakes and waffles together, studying for school together and Yui's loving words when she sewed a dress for her sister Kianna Komori.
It was a time full of light-heartedness and carefree, she had banished her stepfather from her mind, banishing everything negative from her life. But then it was the first time in the "new" school, her new life, the life in which she no longer had Yui, in which she no longer had any happiness except for him.
The blond blue-eyed vampire, the eldest son of the family and the head of the family if you looked at it that way. Shu Sakamaki. The vampire who had lived a life she would not survive a life, an obsession with her.
A love, a mistake in one night, something that made the young brown-haired girl vomit one night at school. The sour smell in the bathroom wavered as her trembling hands lay on her stomach until now it didn't show, it hadn't been a few months since she had given in.
She just wanted some human closeness, some touch, some love. One night he had always given her to Shu would not have gotten her pregnant.
,,Fuck fuck no...that-that can't be-" she broke off her wild mumbling as tears gathered in her eyes she knew no she was one hundred percent sure he would give her the guilt that he didn't want to have a child.
Not half a being a bastard. But in her knowing she knew that if he wasn't the father...she would be the good parent better than her stepfather. She would create her own happiness because she couldn't have any other choice.
,,Everything will be all right," she murmured to the being inside her, the trembling of her hands, though much less as her body slowly relaxed, slowly found its way back to her. Slowly she realized that this mistake of his obession and her closeness could become something that helped her. She returned from the limosine to her room to relax.
She took the diary, her sister's beloved diary, and wrote in it, writing her nagts and pains from her soul and feeling something like hope for the first time. She knew there was only one way when she put down her pen and knew that if she was going to have a future for herself and her baby, she had to do what she should have done long ago.
She had to kill them one by one she had to kill the six...including the father of her unborn child otherwise he would kill her in a way she knew she wished she had never been born. Her yellow golden eyes went to her nightstand knowing that Subaru's dagger was there, that the youngest had given it to her as protection.
And she would use that protection. One bloody night when the full moon was high in the sky, she lured one after the other into her room. Knowing that the vampires were slaves to their own lust for blood.
Her blood was a small price to pay for the death of the vampires, the death of her penigers and her own freedom. All but one remained and she knew that he had long known she would go.
That he had read her diary, no, Yui's diary. She found him in the living room taking the big one with his voice. ,,So you did it... and all because of this thing," he said, knowing that his gaze was filled with hatred as he pointed to her diary, the bulge soon to be clearly visible in a few weeks.
She gripped the dagger harder, ,,This thing Shu it's your child and I've earned this peace...you have nothing but doom" she replied slowly walking backwards not letting his words and gazes sway her decision.
,,Maybe...maybe you all deserve to die...but believe me Kianna one day...when you feel safe I'll be there...so run" he said and the next moment he reached for one of the candles with a shriek in her eyes she saw for a moment the madness the blue-eyed man had.
The madness that must have been in the whole Sakamaki family and from which she escaped out of the castle, out into her freedom as the flames behind her took the scent with them and made the vampire disappear. But she knew everything would only be for a time, but in that time she would be happy, she knew that for sure.
LiM Julius Route Summary
This route starts in Arc 1, where Subaru chooses to go to the guards to look for the insignia first and meets Julius.
After explaining the situation, Julius is the one to take down Elsa instead of Reinhard, and Subaru ends up becoming good friends with him.
Full explanation under the cut.
Part 1:
The guard on duty doesn't seem to know much about what Subaru means by a "lost item," but Julius steps in and takes over questioning. Subaru tries to tell him he needs to look at confiscated items/lost and found, but without any description of the stolen item, Julius has no good reason to co-operate or show the box to him.
Subaru hasn't got a good description of the insignia, only knowing it as a "shiny thing," so he gives up on asking about it and apologises to Julius and the guard for wasting their time. After this, he goes back to Emilia, and arc 1 proceeds as normal.
Part 2:
After dying in the loothouse, he rushes back to the alleyway so he can meet Emilia again. Instead, he runs into Julius, who mentions the alleyway being quite narrow and to be careful if he's in a hurry. Subaru recognises him instantly, but Julius has no clue who Subaru is.
He explains to Julius about there being a dangerous guy in the slums, and needing somebody strong to come check it out. Julius asks him why Subaru's heading there if he knows something is dangerous. After telling him that people's lives are at stake and Subaru needs him, Julius agrees to be his strength.
Subaru thanks him, and Julius asks again how he knew his name when they'd never met before. Depending on the choice you make as a player, Subaru will either say they'd met before and Julius just forgot, or Subaru says he heard it from another guard.
As they walk along, Subaru explains the whole situation, and Julius replies:
Julius: I understand the situation. I can't believe you'd risk so much for a woman you've never met.
Julius: Even so, the risk to a citizen is too great. I understand your feelings. I'll accompany you.
TonChinKan were hoping Subaru would pass by, but seeing Julius accompany him, decide to leave him be.
At this point, Julius mentions about him appearing in the slums with a knight's uniform may cause some trouble. Subaru gives him his jacket to disguise him, and Julius asks him to call him Juli.
When they reach the Loot house, Subaru warns Juli of the danger, but Juli doesn't quite see anything dangerous. Seeing Subaru all worried about entering, he decides to take the lead first.
Rom's fine, and things go pretty much the same as canon. Subaru asks Rom if he died recently, Juli doesn't quite know what to do here, and Rom ends up eating some of his potato chips.
(Side note: Juli says he really likes this outfit, but it doesn't quite look right on him.)
Subaru explains he's looking for the insignia, and that a girl with silver hair had it taken from her, which gets Juli's attention. As Rom confirms Felt won't be back 'til late, both Subaru and Juli are asked to leave for now. Subaru asks if Juli will stick around, and Juli agrees, intrigued about the stolen insignia.
Part 3:
Felt returns, and is immediately wary of Juli's presence. She tells him people like him don't go here, and tries to bascially get him to back off, but he's able to tell Felt deals in stolen goods. Depending on your choice, Subaru either asks Juli to back down, or begs Felt to listen to him.
Things go similar to canon, he asks to buy the insignia off her, using his phone as a bargaining chip. Rom's interested, but Felt is very very wary of why both Subaru and Juli are around. Juli having such an expensive sword and being in this area spells trouble for her.
Juli tells her that he is a knight, but there's no reason for her to reject the negotiations over the insignia. To which Felt responds:
Felt: There is a reason. I don't like you.
She tells them she's going to sell it to somebody else, and Juli mentions once more "I can't abide by this." Subaru has to stop both of them from being rash, and players can either choose to reason with Juli, or reason with Felt.
...Which doesn't work, and Felt says the client's going to show up soon. Elsa appears, and Juli immediately tells Subaru to stand behind him. They start fighting, and Subaru doesn't want to just run away and leave Juli alone.
Juli compliments her skills, but asks why she does this sort of thing. Elsa asks him "Are you doing this because you want to do it?" and they continue talking while exchanging blows.
Eventually, Juli strikes her down enough to incapacitate her for a moment, and Felt and Rom leave. Subaru attempts to leave as well, but Elsa aims for him, only to be stopped by Juli using Al Clauzeria on her.
Thinking it's over, Juli talks to Subaru for a moment, when Elsa finally takes down Subaru. Her coat, being able to block magic, meant she was unaffected by Juli's spell.
Juli tries to save him, instructing one of his spirits to use healing magic on him. Elsa refuses to get out of the way, watching Subaru slowly die as Juli gets more desparate.
Julius : Elsa, get out of the way, or else ------ !
Elsa: What if I don't? Slowly, slowly, the fire of life is fading away ----
Julius: Subaru! Don't lose your mind! You can't die here! You need to return the insignia to the original owner---
Subaru : (dying, insignia, original owner ------ )
Elsa: Fading away, end of story.
Julius: Subaru—!!
Subaru: ( ─ Ah, dead)
Subaru respawns at the Appa stand, and gets given some water and an appa after freaking out in front of Kadomon. Just like in canon, he spots Emilia and calls out to her--calling her Satella, and being glad she's okay.
Part 3 end.
Will continue part 4 and 5 in another post - this one's long enough already.
The Mischaracterization of Ferris: A thread analyzing Re: Zero's most misinterpreted and overlooked character. Side story spoilers for the entire thread. Arc 8 spoilers in the speculation section (will be marked since so many people aren't caught up).
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h On the other hand, Ferris is quite a fascinating character who serves an important role within the narrative of Arc 3. He doesn't let Subaru off as easy as everyone else which makes seeing him grow respect for Subaru's growth satisfying. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Whichever opinion you hold, that’s mostly irrelevant today. Instead, I will be simply discussing his character, his role in the story, and arguing in favor of many merits of his character people overlook. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Ferris's primary role is similar to all the Royals Candidates' knights: serving as a foil for Subaru. I've explained the similarities between Subaru and the other knights before, but to sum it up as quickly as possible all 3 of them represent a version of what Subaru could be. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Reinhard is a version of what Subaru could've been if he were the typical isekai protagonist, Julius is a lot more complicated but he’s essentially what Subaru could've been if he were granted enough power to face his enemies on even ground, and Al is Subaru if he had been- Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h -just a bit unlucky in where he had been sent; becoming someone who struggles to care and abuses his powers to the fullest.
Ferris is much the same, though it can be argued he parallels Subaru the hardest with the exception of maybe Al. The resemblance on paper between the- Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h -two is uncanny. They are both physically weak men who often don't fit traditional gender roles and have the sole desire of helping a woman they love to achieve her dreams of becoming a Royal Candidate no matter the personal costs to themselves. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h To do this, they use an extraordinary power unique to them (in Subaru's case RBD, and in Ferris's case his Water magic that is relative to an authority). Their need to rely on others for victory is a source of immense mental turmoil and often leaves them full of self-loathing. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h They place immense value in the lives of others, even those who have or will harm them, to the point that they are willing to be harmed in order to help them. Seeing others casually disregard the lives of others serves as one of the things that anger them the most. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h They are both prone to obsessively possessive behavior and have sometimes even directed it towards the one they love. This often leads to them getting in trouble due to their jealousy.
There are more similarities I could point out, but you get the point. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Where am I going with this though? Ferris is clearly a parallel to Subaru, but what does he represent in regard to him? Put simply, I believe his primary branching point is he is what Subaru could've been if his parents were just a bit different. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Parent and Child is one of the most crucial chapters for informing us about just the kind of person Subaru is. Perhaps the most important piece is how it helps us understand just how much of him is a result of his father. Subaru not only looked up to him but actively mimicked-
Tumblr media
-him to achieve his goals. The pressure of the surrounding world caused him to default to trying to be his father instead of who he truly was. Subaru's parents weren't perfect, in fact they were very flawed people, but they are responsible for many of Subaru's positive traits.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h The same is true for Ferris and his shitbag of a father.
If you were to ask any novel reader what Ferris' defining trait as a character is, they would probably say anger or bitterness. This isn't too surprising, as that's how he- Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h -typically acts towards everyone except Crusch and Fourier; even when it comes to friends such as Julius.
I would argue however that it is, similar to Subaru, merely an act he defaults to when he is stressed or angry. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h During his bitter moments, such as his cold statement to Subaru as he leaves Crusch's mansion in Arc 4, Ferris is merely defaulting to what he has learned to be the best method of dealing with his stress…a method that mimics his father.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Whether Ferris acknowledges it or not, his attitude at his worst moments makes him come off like his father. He can be cruel, sometimes even callous. He shows intense rage when he doesn't get his way and attacks the part of his opponent that is most vulnerable. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h This attitude can blind him to the point that he can even hypocritically acts racist towards Emilia.
Ferris' entire life has been defined by discrimination. In the face of someone he should know has faced many of the same issues he talks almost exactly like his dad.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h It was in the middle of a mental breakdown, but that does not excuse him just like it does not excuse Subaru.
Speaking of his parents, it's also notable how their inability to connect with Ferris parallel Naoko and Kenichi's struggles with Subaru. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Ferris' dad is a bombastic, loud man who was (once) well-respected and causes many of Ferris's issues through his actions and Ferris' emulation of him. His fatal flaw in the end was also that he could not understand Ferris, similar to Kenichi.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Ferris' mom on the other hand fully understood the distress he was under but did not have the confidence to interfere or make a change as Ferris wasted away, similar to Naoko's inability to help Subaru when he most needed it.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h That's not to say Kenichi or Naoko are even a thousandth as bad as either of those two, but their struggles with their child deeply parallel each other.
Back on track though, I want to highlight a bit more of Ferris' parallels with perhaps the most damning example. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h This specific scene is from the "The Saga of the Great Crusch-sama Begins". When faced with his mother, the he hates so much, he attempts to stab her in the chest. Crusch gets caught in the crossfire causing Felix to freak out and unlock his water magic to save her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What can at first be written off as just a unique way to show off Ferris' water magic gets recontextualized hard in EX 1, where it's revealed his father killed his mother in the exact same method, stabbing her to death in a fit of rage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Outwardly, this image of hatred, bitterness, and malice is what Ferris projects. It's easy to write that off as just the kind of person he is as so many often do…
…but there's obviously more to it than this. There is far more to Ferris than his mimicry of his father. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Ferris doesn't allow himself to be vulnerable very often in the story. Only when he is with Fourier and Crusch, as well as when he is in the most intense moments of crisis, does he show who he actually is. Stress is the best test of character after all. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h The best example to me? His confrontation with the father he so often emulates.
If Ferris was actually as vindictive as he so often outwardly acts, how would you expect him to react to the death of a man he hated so much? Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Wouldn't he taunt him? Wouldn't he make his last moments a living hell? Wouldn't he crow in pleasure at his agony? Would you be able to even blame Ferris if he made Biehn's last moments hell? Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h You would expect that…but that's not how he reacts at all. At that moment, watching as the man who tortured him so much dies an awful death…he just shows sadness. He thinks about the possibility that they could've just worked things out; that things could be different.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Despite everything his father had done to him, despite all the rage at the world Ferris projects, the moment he is put into a scenario he likely dreamed of he can't help but feel pity that this was the only route he could take. He never wanted to hurt even Biehn of all people. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h And this, I believe, is Ferris's actual defining trait underneath his persona of cynicism and bitterness: kindness and a greater love for life than anyone else in the series. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 8h Ferris's power, as Fourier once said, is the kindest in the world. At his core, Ferris is just as kind as his power and loves life arguably more than any other character in the series.
Think about it. Despite Ferris's words, what is the thing that upsets him most?
Tumblr media
People who waste their lives. Whether it be Subaru, Fourier, a random Vollachian guard, or even Witch Cultists...Ferris can't bring himself to watch life be thrown away. It just hurts him, regardless of how horrible the person is.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop Just like Subaru, he wants to help everyone. The pain that he feels when he is unable to do so is immeasurable, as Subaru himself states in Volume 8.
He is struggling with the same realization as Subaru: saving some people is impossible, it's just a simple fact of life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The reason this baffles me is because of how blatant the importance is to anyone who has read EX 1. Even Tappei himself has stated that many of the things he wants to do with Ferris could not be done without this aspect of his character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ferris's non-conformance is part of a promise made with Crusch. Ferris took on her femininity while Crusch took on his masculinity. It's a promise between the two that proves their devotion to one another. It's the ultimate s
ymbol of their affection for one another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h In Aganau IF Ferris dresses and acts more masculine, precisely because his connection to Crusch no longer exists.
It's also why he continues to dress as he does even when Crusch no longer has her memories, desperately holding onto the literal symbol of the bond between them.
Tumblr media
However, unlike Crusch who seems to love who she is both when taking on more masculine and feminine traits, finding a balance between them; Ferris can't do the same. He sees it merely as a means to show his devotion rather than something he does for himself.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h He constantly expresses that it is all for Crusch and Crusch alone. If anything he seems to resent his inability to fulfill any kind of masculine role, as shown once again in his conversation with Biehn in EX 1. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h When pushed to finally unleash all his true feelings to Biehn, what does he bring up as the main reason for his resentment? His abuse? His coldness? His murder of his mother? Any of the innumerable unforgivable things Biehn has done to him? Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h No. Ferris points at his body. He anguishes over his skinny arms, his inability to wield a sword, his lack of muscle, and his lack of fighting prowess. He hates his lack of masculine features and how he's unable to live up to his idea of what Crusch's knight should be.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h He literally sees his masculinity as something stolen from him by his father; leaving him so empty that he needed something else to fill that void.
Crusch gave him that thing. Crusch gave him a way to live. Crusch filled his soul, but he still resents what he "has" to be.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h Now does that mean he resents Crusch? No, of course not. But he does resent that this is the only thing he can do for her; the only person he can be. Deep down, he doesn't seem to want to be the way he is, and instead of trying to change that he throws the blame on his father. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h He's stuck in that hatred, in that desire to meet Crusch's expectations, and in that moment where a starving child begged to be released and was finally brought into the light. In many ways, he acts like a child. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h This is quite literally represented in him preventing himself from going through puberty; a symbol in many stories of transitioning from childhood to adulthood. He sees his current form as a shackle whether he realizes it or not.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h With that out of the way, I can move on to the last thing I wanted to cover in this thread. I have established a lot here so I want to speculate about the future. From this point forward there are unmarked Arc 8 spoilers, so…you can't argue I wasn't careful from here onwards. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h I don't blame you at all for doing so and I thank you for reading my ramblings.
* * *
Are you still here? Ok, let's start.
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop With all of the above established, I want to return to the question of where Ferris' arc will go in the future. My belief? I think it will be something similar to what Pre-Amnesia Crusch has already realized, with Felix’s closest parallel in Subaru being close to doing the same. 9:38 AM · Nov 14, 2023 · 239 Views
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h Crusch, as I mentioned before, has found balance in the two aspects of her life. Throughout the story, she switches seamlessly between the two without a second thought. She is comfortable and happy with both parts of herself.
Subaru is also on a similar path. He feels most comfortable in embracing his feminine side, idealizing it through Natsumi. All his confidence is channeled into that persona, while the other two aspects of his personality (his main self who has all the self-worth of an abandoned-
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h -puppy and his child self who is representative of his more masculine traits) are imbalanced.
Arc 8 seems to be going in a direction where he realizes how important all of these aspects of him are. They all 3 have flaws but together, they can make up for those flaws. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h They are pieces of the coherent whole that is Natsuki Subaru.
I believe a similar thing will happen with Ferris. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h He will need to find a balance between Ferris, his feminine side that has defined him for so long, and Felix the masculine identity he craves. He needs to find a role that makes him as happy as Crusch was, accepting who he is while striving to become who he wants to be. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h I don't expect that to be easy though. In fact, I think the path to get there will be immensely messy and self-destructive.
The idea of Ferris having a breakdown or lashing out has been well-foreshadowed throughout the story. He has had numerous small outbursts already and has- Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h -displayed similar problems to Arc 3 Subaru when pushed to an extreme. There's a large amount of toxicity in him that will rush out, sooner or later. It will likely take similar levels of suffering to force him to get a grip, possibly hurting Crusch in the process. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h Who do I believe to be the trigger for this? Capella.
It is quite possible Capella freed Sphinx and recreated her arms initially. Why would she do this? Why not? We're seeing firsthand how much of a monster Sphinx can be with the Sacrament of the Immortal King. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h Why wouldn't someone like Capella want something like that under her control?
Of course, Sphinx is almost certainly dying soon. Capella will need a replacement and who's the only other option we know of? Ferris. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h He is the perfect target for her.
Adding onto this, there's the whole idea that Capella may have poisoned the Royal Family and, most importantly, Fourier.
Shapeshifting is a power with a long history of being associated with identity issues. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h Considering Ferris' identity issues, who better is there to oppose him than someone like that?
Finally, there's a lot of potential for her tragic past to parallel Ferris' past, with many implications that the Royal Family may not exactly have treated Emerada the best.
Tumblr media
Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h Whatever that breakdown leads to, I expect Crusch and/or Subaru to be the one who snaps him out of it. This will likely be the catalyst that forces Ferris to find a balance. He'll need to let go of things like his self-blame over being unable to help Fourier- Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h -his internalized hatred of his current identity, his idealization of Crusch, and his need to save everyone. Ferris's love will finally allow him to grow and change into a person who is the middle ground between his desires and his true self. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h After all, that's what Re: Zero is truly about: love and growth. Almost every character reflects this and, if my interpretation of Ferris is right, he could embody that theme just as much as Subaru himself does.
He could be a shining bastion of what this story is all about. Gourmet_of_Gluttony @Gluttony_Bishop · 9h Of course, this is all just my interpretation and speculation. If you disagree with it, feel free to. I just hope I was able to make you appreciate Ferris a bit more/changed your mind on how interesting he is.
I wish whoever is reading this a nice day.😁
Can pure-blood vampires survive in outer space? We already know they can withstand being in freezing temperatures and underwater when Karlheinz dumped Shuu at the North Pole for failing school and Subaru into the sea for breaking his statue of himself. Learning about this information I have to admit, Karlheinz has top notch parenting anyone should follow. (Jk ofc)
ohhh intresting question.
SPACE VAMPIRES!!!
So being in space we gotta figure out what minimum standards we gotta say they hit to maybe be able to vibe in space. If you have any other thoughts or think I've missed something lemme know and I'll edit the post or make a part 2!
Low O2
They can survive asphyxiation...maybe. They "don't have heartbeats" so we know they don't have a human circulatory system maybe I think there's something there maybe just too low to be detected by humans. The Mukamis didn't grow new organs so they must do something. We know everything has a transport system even your cells and I've thought about what could work for a vampire with what I know. You can't have even a single celled organism (e.g bacteria, viruses, yeast) without something in them to move nutrients and waste about. When it gets to multicellular organisms like vampires or humans they can't just drink blood and vibe that blood has to be broken into parts to be used for different things and has to go to different areas....do full-blooded vampires have asses or do they just have urethras because liquid diet? Question for another day.
Diaboys bleed. Full stop, they do it's part of certain changing methods apparently and very obvious in Cordelia's death scene. They can bleed and bleeding is bad for them. We know they die from things other than silver to the heart wounds but revival is more likely to work in those cases. I think we've seen either Laito, Reiji, or both point out how absurd some of the rumours on how to kill vampires are as that would kill anyone. Either that or I'm thinking or Hotel Transylvania. They have to have something moving shit around and the fact the founders had a disease that killed them and the full-blooded vampires have blood, means they use it. And blood can't move off spite there is something moving it. So why could their heartbeat not be heard? It's smaller or slower or in a different position. In my opinion anyway.
If it's smaller that's entirely possible but has some issues. I have yet to look up the minimum size a heart could be to move blood through a 6ft tall dudebro, maybe they have a lot of valves? Not my favorite theory on it's own. Slower has a good backbone. The heart would be large enough to pump effectively but wouldn't need to due to their cells not demanding as much O2. Maybe they're yeast or something and can use CO2? Different position...no. I really don't see this being the case with how you can kill em but I wanted to list it, rule of three and stuffy. For the sake of my headcannons we're going to mix the smaller and slower theory. This doesn't necessarily mean they need O2 at all they could use CO2 already inside their bodies.
So the O2 deprevation may not kill them, unless they need some level of it. BUT pressure.
Pressure (pushin' down on me)
So, first biggy we can't explain off is pressure for two main reasons. Assuming you're human (sorry for assuming your taxonomy like that) when you first are released into space any and all gas in your body expands to match your inside pressure to your outside pressure. Then you go boom basically. If you survive that then the fluid in your body will literally evaporate due to the pressure, swelling you up like you're Violet Boregarde. I don't believe this is survivable for a vampire.
They have blood, they have tissue, they have cells. They aren't super dense metal they're made of tissue, more durable sure but tissue. So their bodies would burst. But what if they were in a pressurized suit, well then they ain't surviving outer space but I'll get to that at the end sit down.
RADIATION!
So vampires don't get cancer, they have advanced healing meaning they are way less likely to get cancer. All healing is, is cell growth. Cell growth that's too fast is where DNA copying mistakes are made hence cancer, basically. So vampires cells have something to prevent mutations better then us like the bacteria Deinococcus radiodurans. Radiodurans has a increased DNA stability to radiation so radiation can't kill the cells as easily as it takes much more of it to effect the DNA. And these dudes survive radiation worse then what's already on earth so it is probably not to survive radiation, more so to prevent DNA damage. In theory these bacteria will survive low orbit in space.
So vampires could have this in a stronger form and survive the radiation further out like that maybe? But it's also the burns that could maim or kill them but that's not concrete to me yet.
Temperature
The reason the cold is bad for you is that it slows the enzymes in your cells, an enzyme is what speeds up chemical reactions in your body to a speed that allows you to live so if they go you go.
Shu can survive the North Pole, so he can survive with reduced enzyme speeds which lines up with the slower heart beat thing. But space is colder than that. I don't think they could survive becoming a popsicle or if they do, it's not exactly thriving more so not dying yet.
But space is also HOT, get too close to the sun it's hot, or too close to a planet and gravity pulls you in and you start burning up in the atmosphere. We know heat kills these fuckers via Richter's presumed death and Cordelia's first death shows it.
So they dead on this front to.
So no space suit they're dying. But what about just long term space life in the ISS or something?
Astronaut Vampires?
One of the many reasons humans can't do space forever is largely due to your tissue losing density and getting too weak. With the diaboys faster healing they wouldn't be losing cells and replace them fast. But, the lack of gravity also plays a part in reduced density (I think, my boyfriend does physics so if I've sent this to him after posting I'm gonna be so embarrassed if I'm wrong).
The gravity part is what stumps me. They would lose some level of bone density but how fast? They must be denser to be able to smash in walls like Subaru. So maybe they can lose more before being too damaged?
Plus they still need blood. As much as they'd probably hate to admit they do actually need to somewhat rely on humans.
hmm... I went into this thinking they could live in a space station permanently. But I don't think even that's possible.
Point is space makes everyone their bitch except space bears basically.
Just wanna drop some personal opinions. I. I swear to god i have heard people complaining for a thousand times about how Ayato’s LE route was “horrible” and all of them has the same reasoning being “it’s unfair”, so i came to share my point of view:
His route wasn't even that bad? 😅 Yall r pissed bc he got treated like shit in his route (yeah, bc he hurted his brothers. He blinded Laito and broke Kanato’s leg. Accidentally or whatever.) What everyone has already known is the S boys' relationship is trash from the begining, ofc they'll act like that? Kanato the one who will scream at your face and treat you with the "idc what tf your reason is i want YOU to take responsibility" and Laito who has grudges with Ayato all the way at the begining? Then comes Reiji who tried so hard for years to become the leader/ leader's right hand man just to serve a person he view as narrow and incompetent (bruh idk about Kanato but everyone else' has something that makes others respect them for. In the Sakamaki family. Shu's smart and know how to act like a big bro when needed, Reiji's a strategist and has been studying to be the heir for years, Laito's intelligent af, and Subaru is the purest among vampires, it’s will be pretty hard to explain this now but all i can say is “it’s smth related to politics in the DL world”), with the last straw being that one hurting his own people? And Ruki who longs for the king's title, who's as dedicated to Karl as Reiji, and is able to seethrough the same Ayato who's unfit to rule all along? 💀 girl. If you people's going to play blame game, blame everyone including Ayato then. He DID made a big mistake. Even it isn't his intention to do so. Try to walk in other people's shoes (in term of mindset and feelings cuz you're oh so capable to do so when it comes to Ayato in other people's route ^^.)
This IS the route suitable for smo with the title "main hero". Because it's different from every other routes. S boys have to deal with both personal problems and their leader position. Now, what kind of personal problem does Ayato have? ^^ Egomaniac, solved. Hatred for Cordi, done in DF. Hating his father? There are some, but not as much as Laito, cuz Laito’s a big personal grudge that can make him going from borderline suicidal to try everything in everyway to khs because he has to receive smth from Karl (No takesy backsy~ Your supplier Karl’s ded). Ayato doesn't. The writers tried their best to make a big ass personal problem for him ya know ^^. 5 other routes r pretty much… peas in the same pot, but Ayato got the element of surprise 👍 Wouldn't that make his route stand out from his brothers', like what a "main hero's route" will be? ^^ Talking about surprises,
Rejet's marketing strategy. Do you know what do Ayato's Daylight aka the most “well-liked daylight cd” and Ayato's LE route have in common? They doesn't follow the stream every other routes does. They stand out. Yes. Because what people like, isn't just sweet moments and fanservices. They long for new things. Creativity. Ayato's route has both of these. Decent amount of sweet moments with Yui, a tear he never shed. So not too much Overall, balance 👍.
II. “The M boys are so narrow-minded when they be like “Aristocrats this aristocrats that” to the S boys, S boys went through traumas too”
THEY-WON’T-KNOW?????? If the S boys don’t share????? Where do you think they’d get that information from? Karl casually telling his surbonates “I traumatized my sons”? The players, aka us, know about their pasts because Rejet puts them in every opening of the prolouge/ epilogues, so we can read their thoughts, sympathize with them, whatever, but can the M boys/ any other boys see them too? You finish the puzzle.
(Trivial matter, if my memories is correct M boys, (for example Kou) have been showing sympathy everytime S boys told them something about their past (in that drama cd where 2/3 of the triplet doing recalls about Cordi’s cooking)).
In conclusion, the “narrow-minded” one is the one saying the similar statement above. ^^
III. There’s no “main character” in otome games.
I don’t think i have to explain the reason, since someone has already said that out loud (“If there’s one “main character”, what are the other 12 for?”, i recall) And i thought everyone knows this already. Because there’s has already been a term for that in the otoge community, being “posterboy”. Yes. The one appearing in almost every posters, the one having the most screentime if the project has an anime adaption, whose cd is the 1st ever to be released. Ect. So. Let’s talk about Young Blood. I see a lot of people thinks that “Oh the story revolves around Ayato and Karl in this manga favors Ayato more than any other sons of his. He must be the main character. If otherwise, why didn’t they make 5 more mangas?” Have you ever thought about how making 5 more manga, with the same plot would spill the budget and no company is dumb enough to not realize that so they just do one that revolves around their representative aka the posterboy and let their audiences do the math that if we change to other boys’ perspective the story would go on the same way (with some tiny events/ details being changed?)
I hope people grow some perspective.
IV. Nothing much. I’m just a little disappointed on how most people i’ve seen here have nothing to say about but how “nice and helpful” the boys is (judging characters based on their moral. I mean there’s more to talk about than just that?)
V. Ruki along with Reiji, Kanato and Laito (idk about other boys) are the most misunderstood character in this fandom (Ruki alone, all because people doesn’t understand his action and try to rationalize them in their own one-way, tunnel-liked, logically wrong way of reasoning, causing the action to look totally stupid and meaningless. Even some resources of him are translated wrong causing even more misunderstandings. (By the way, Reiji fans, Kanato fans, please tag me in posts solving misconceives about your oshi please. I would love to read them. 😔) P/s: Oh and something about Ruki, ofc him killing that cat is wrong, no question asked 👍 Though “=> He should not be entrusted with a pet of all kind bc he’ll kill them” + “=> he hates cats” is also wrong (yall be paying too much attention to the cat and forgot about the bird scene. Those birds he refused to feed. Did he lay a hand on them may i ask?)
