What do you headcannon Dylan's necklace to be? Like do you think he has a charm or something on it or is it just a plain cord?

not to be dramatic but this is making me lose my mind. i've been looking at pictures & it looks like the cord is angled downward with the weight of a charm

so my first thought was like "oh he prolly has one of those basic ring charms or smthn" no shame, they're great but like??? it doesn't feel right???

so i was thinking it could be a good luck charm - a horseshoe, a jade piece, the evil eye - which I like. he seems like the kind of person who doesn't necessarily believe in everything but he's a bit superstitious & is like "better safe than sorry". which is all well & good, but... why does he hide it? everyone elses' necklaces are shown from what I can remember, even on other outfits, so why don't we ever see his? is this a coincidence that i'm overthinking or is it something personal to him?

I fucking hate reader-insert fanfic with a burning passion. It's ruining fandoms across the board and is directly correlated to toxic parasocial fan relationships, especially in RPF fandoms.

Just make an OC and write a story with fleshed-out characterizations and dynamics. Despite what certain contingencies would have you believe, OCs are not bad. They're good! They're fun! We love them! They allow people to get attached to your characters and not some bland shell of a personae that makes Bella Swan look complex.

I've never in my life read a reader-insert fic that didn't make my soul cringe out of my body.

hey, you're welcome, I'm glad it resonates with someone. I'm really proud of my mom for how she took care of us - and I'm proud of anyone who ends up a parent (by choice or by circumstances) and tries and does their best and keeps learning how to do it. It doesn't come naturally to everyone, and it sure as fuck isn't always fun, even if you genuinely enjoy taking care of a little wormy human.

I think a lot of people would benefit from being told "it's okay if you hate doing it sometimes. It's ok if you're scared. It's okay to ask for help." We have this idea (at least in western, christian society) that parenting - especially for women - is this grand, fulfilling thing that will change your entire world forever and make you feel whole and you will be great at it and you will always know what to do.

Nah man. Sometimes your firstborn (me) will be an ugly, hairy little thing, who whines a lot, who's bad at nursing and who'll want to nurse (poorly) every other hour, who will keep you and your partner up all night and piss on you when you change its diapers and it'll be a fucking chore and it's ok to acknowledge this. You'll find ways around it (bottle feeding, night shifts, daycare) and you'll read up on how to do it and you'll hopefully find friends who will tell you, yeah, it sucks, but it gets better. Here, let me hold it for a few hours and you can get some shut eye.

Idk man parenting is work, and a hell of a lot of a responsibility, and if you chose to do it you will have to keep figuring it out as you do it and sometimes it will not come easy. That's scary!

sweet Jacob has one of the guns & absolutely misses his shot, even tho the bear is right there, so he screams, tries to make himself bigger, & hits the bear with the gun. i can't say this would work out well for him in the long one, i do unfortunately think this round goes to the bear, but it's a good effort 👍good work king

Ryan can be a bit jumpy with the gun, but he has decent aim, so i suppose this fully defends on who can aim a kill shot first. if Ryan hesitates, he's done for, but if he gets a good shot in, i think our man has a fighting chance. for the most part.

the love of my life, Kaitlyn, is having no issues here either. wild animal? check. gun? check. permission to kill? she's good. unless she has one of her helpless moments that don't make a ton of sense in game but do happen, & drops her gun or something. but she's small & quick, so i feel like she has good chance to stay out of range & just keep hammering the bear with shots until it's enough to drop it. persistence, baby!!
