And the fact that it *actively* knows it does not hate its job should tell you something.
This is the angel of history. It is a boot obliterating human souls forever.
Meanwhile. There is a demon in reality’s sub-basement who is very fulfilled.
This demon once had an emotion and an opinion and these two things combined are what catalysed and metastasised it into infernality. It felt grief. It thought that what happened to souls was sad. To deal with this sadness, it hid itself away in an old storage cellar nestled just this side of unreality. In this cellar it found leftover raw materials - scraps of cosmic clay. And on this clay, it carved the story of each life as its soul left its body, so that something at least would remain.
These tablets are gorgeous - they are decorated with acid etchings made from a caustic non-substance designed to carve negative space between electrons. It is carved in a beautiful flowing script - the demon took calligraphy classes to get the curved font just right.
It decorated its hideout with these tablets and thus was the first hell constructed.
(Truly, the road to hell is paved with good indentations.)

Hiya, finally got around to reading your post on the horror influences of DFF (thank you) and because it added immensely to my to watch list, I was wondering if you had any recommendations / resources for my current side quest.
Last week I watched both 1000 years old and Red Wine in the Dark Night and came across two very different vampires neither of which has fangs. And while that might still be a coincidence (n=2 is not a good basis) it was enough to make me realise that I do close to nothing about Thailand (and related) vampire lore.
While it is a blessing that we are going to have five thai vampire BLs this year, in this case it is actually a curse because any combination of keywords I can think of leads me to 1000 images of Boun staring at me with red eyes. And in this ONE instance, this is actually a complaint.
So, rambles over: Do you have any recommendation for thai horror / supernatural stories that feature vampires / blood sucking ghosts demons or the like?

Tbh I don't know a ton of Thai vampire movies specifically. My knowledge of Thai cinema tends to skew action or horror and even that I'm still a newbie. What's more frustrating is a lot of older Thai films aren't available for streaming and you gotta pirate them - which hey, I'm no stranger to that life either I'm an anime fan lmao - though Netflix has started picking up more Thai imports recently. That's where I watched The Whole Truth, Girl From Nowhere, Trapped 13 (there's a documentary and a drama also fuck Elon Musk), and part of School Tales.
[Netflix is so fucking annoying they have some of the best catalog for international media around but they're so god damn greedy]
As far as I know in regards to like, are there even Thai vampires in mythology/folklore the closest thing I could find was the Krasue:
"A Krasue, sometimes called Pii Krasue, is a spirit that haunts most of Southeast Asia. [...] The Krasue is delightfully gory, consisting of a floating head with entrails and internal organs dangling from the neck. They usually manifest themselves as attractive young women with bloody hanging innards and float about accompanied by an eerie glow. Sometimes, they even have fangs like a vampire." (source)
So I think it's pretty safe to say that, uh, the vampires in upcoming Thai shows are not taking from Thai myth lol but probably Japanese and Korean media.
Japanese takes on vampires which were all the rage in the mid-00s: Blood The Last Vampire (2000), Vampire Knight (2008), Blood+ (2005), Hellsing (1997 - 2008), Blood C (2011), Blood Hound (2004), Trinity Blood (2005) I'm noticing a lot of "blood" used in these titles.
Not that vampires aren't still a sub-genre in Japan, like gosh Seraph of the End was huge in 2013 and was a part of the small re-boom of anime/manga during that time period after the bubble popped.
Korea's also done vampires there seems to have been a bit of a boom in the mid-00s (Vampire Idol 2011, Immortal Goddess 2016) and then again recently (Kissable Lips 2022, Bite Sisters 2021, Heartbeat 2023). From what little I've seen in Korean media - I haven't watched either of the mid-00s shows - vampires tend to be more romance fodder, and treated like any other fantasy creature rather than something scary or demonic.
Which falls in line with the trailer for 1000 Days - which I have also not watched so correct me if I'm wrong and it's actually scary as fuck lmao - while Japanese vampire media ranges from romantic but more gothic or outright just for horror and action.
In my experience horror films from Japan, Korea and Thailand don't usually have blood sucking ghosts or demons? Not saying there's none, but most of the films I've watched the ghosts weren't like, of the blood sucking variety. They tend to be connected to curses left behind because of some sort of wrong done to the spirit in their past life.
Take, White Melody of Death, as an example which is a Korean horror film about a Kpop girl group. The curse that murders it's way through the characters is attached to the spirit of a character who died.

Even in The Whole Truth the spirit is more of seeking vengeance than like, to eat people. The concept of "demons" is different in various Asian countries than in an American/Anglo-Saxon context because of the differences in religious, and cultural roots.
Again, totally not an expert regarding all this, and I'm putting the rest under a read more for length but gonna talk a bit more about Japanese, and Chinese folklore (with sources!) under the cut. And I DO list some recs for general horror stuff I like.
Take the concept of "demon" for example:
"Yokai is not simply the Japanese word for demon, as is sometimes believed. They are the embodiment of a moment: a feeling of dread and bewilderment, or awe and wonder over an extraordinary event; or a strange sound or peculiar scent that demands an explanation; an ineffable phenomenon explained only by a supernatural entity. Little wonder then that the Japanese characters for Yokai are 妖怪, which taken individually could mean strange or alluring mystery!" (source)
You can see this reflected in Japanese media like the super famous Inu-yasha: A Feudal Fairytale by Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha when directly translated into English means "dog demon"). Where, in the story, there's a mix of demons both human like, creature like, and wide as far as individual morality goes - one of the protagonists, Inuyasha is a half-demon mixed with human it's a whole subplot of his character.
I've found this is more typical in the Japanese media I've engaged with. Like in Japanese horror like Dark Waters (2002) or Ringu (1998) they don't refer to the "monster" as a "demon" it's typically referred to as a ghost or spirit.
You can also see this in Chinese media like Yin Yang Master Dream of Eternity - where the protagonist is also a half demon I'm beginning to see a pattern in the media I like lmao - which makes sense since parts of Japanese folklore/mythology was inspired by Chinese mythology:
"Here, in his third book, Konjaku Hyakki Shui (Supplement to The Hundred Demons from the Present and the Past), Sekien finds inspiration in Chinese mythology." (source)
I feel like this is a long winded way of saying, uh, no I don't know any Thai specific movies about vampires or blood sucking demons. It seems like a fairly new genre exploration from what I've researched so far.
Anyway I can happily share some of my favorite Korean, Japanese and Thai horror things tho, but I really recommend others search themselves and explore the genre. Horror is so vast and flexible as a genre so there's a lot I haven't watched or maybe don't even vibe with that you might!
Perfect Blue, 1997, directed by Satoshi Kon - if you liked Black Swan you'd probably like this film if not more so, it's animated but it's such an amazing psychological horror film there's a reason Satoshi Kon's work has been so influential on media globally.
Girl From Nowhere, 2018 - I talk this one up a lot but I only like season 1 which imo is stronger conceptually, that said, a lot of folks liked season two as well! It has major Twilight Zone vibes, but with a central protagonist who is also a literal force of nature (is Nanno a deity, spirit, demon? No one actually knows and the ambigity is delicious) both seasons are available on Netflix.
Ringu, 1998 - I feel like even if you're a casual horror fan or the like you know of The Ring which is a 2002 remake of this Japanese horror film. I think the 1998 version is better if only because my beloved Hiroyuki Sanada is in it, tho as far as American remakes of Japanese horror films go, The Ring isn't a terrible one (the sequel is tho imo).
Hellsing Ultimate, 2006 - So there's an anime for Hellsing from 2002 that's okay, Hellsing Ultimate is a direct adaption of the manga and it's better. I recommend either reading the manga - the art is FANTASTIC - or watching Ultimate. Out of all three I prefer the manga if only because the art is so good, but if you want Dracula eating and fighting Nazis this is the story for you.
Vampire Princess Miyu, 1997 - this is partly nostalgia but the series is so beautifully animated and it's such a classic. The OVAs will probably be hard to find but if you can and you want some classic Japanese vampire stuff I really liked this back in my youth~~
God Child/Earl of Cain, 2005 - so this is a manga, and it's more Gothic horror than straight horror, but I'm adding it because Kaori Yuki's art is amazing, it's a very subtexually queer series, and it's very Sherlock Holmes meets Shirley Jackson in terms of story.
Train to Busan, 2016 - I am a HUGE zombie film fan love me some zombies and Train to Busan is in my top 3 easy. It's top down one of the best zombie films and the only one that tops it for me is the original Night of the Living Dead. The film has the tag team of Don Lee and Gong Yoo like are you kidding me?
I Saw The Devil, 2010 - This one is A Lot, but it stars Lee Byung-hun in one of his better roles and if you don't trust me watch Kennie JD's video on it.
The Guest, 2018 - This show was such an interesting mix of exorcism and shamanism. The scares were legit SCARY and the entire show was so unnerving, if you can handle slow burns and a good character driven ghost story I really liked this one.
#Alive, 2020 - Okay this feels like cheating cause it's not actually that scary like, at all lol at least not to me, but it's got zombies and the incredible Yoo Ah-In (there's also an American version with Tyler Posey that is unfortunately very bad).
Kingdom, 2018 - I am truly basic but it's SUCH a good zombie show!!! The thrills are amazing, and it had me and my Ma on the edge of our seats. It's not really scary to me, but like its a ymmv (zombies in general don't scare me lol they're just fun).
That's all I can think of right now, I know there's more in my head but I can't remember of them all lol and others that I've watched that I wouldn't really recommend - High School of the Dead, for example, is famous for it's "Matrix boobs" scene which is hilarious but not great cinema lmao - so I left a lot of stuff I know out.

Wow, now that I know you dislike moriarty, I will not ask you about them (it's one of my fav manga series). Have you watched/read owari no seraph, case files of jeweler richard or sk8? Can I ask what do you think about each of the series ? Sorry for this random ask.

I've only seen the anime for Moriarty so we all know how different anime/manga can be. Manga and other source material in general is always better. It's the original, after all! But for the record the boys in that show are fucking...HELLO? GORGEOUS? And the only reason I was able to watch it all, honestly. OH YEAH ALSO THE ENDING. EVERYTHING WAS WORTH IT FOR THAT ENDING. Just saying. Moriarty might have solved dumb crimes with the absolute WORST one-liners every time he ENTERED A ROOM LIKE AN EDGELORD but that's okay. He jumped and Sherlock jumped after him. I did tear up. I don't CARE. I TEARED UP!!! I ship them but I don't enjoy any ship content I've seen of them. I see people just drawing them being goofy and/or pretty so idk what to think of them or their dynamics with each other.
I have seen Seraph and Sk8, loved them both! Seraph had a bit more drag for me, as I'm not very into magic systems and shows that focus on learning how to use them. But it was greatly overwhelmed by other tropes I loved, like the destructive power in Yuu and OF COURSE....the homoerotic vampire/human MikaYuu bond. 😁 WHAT A GREAT SCENE (YOU KNOW THE SCENE).
Okay, for Sk8 the Infinity, ZERO COMPLAINTS. WHAT A SHOW, DUDE. I hate sports but I love boys being rock hard for each other in anime sports LMFAO. What even, idk. BUT BESIDES THE HOMOSEXUALS, SK8 WAS JUST FANTASTIC IN PLOT AND PACING AS WELL. Love Langa, love the psycho villain, love the dub and sub, just...yeah. Great show. I ship Langa and Adam and also Adam and his dog *cheeses at the camera* very hot very crazy very unhealthy

It has a dull lilac hue to it in certain lights, as well as greenish and pinkish tones, and is well maintained. His eyes, clear and open, are pinkish red, or magenta, framed by long, almost feminine eyelashes. He stands at a short 5'4", sporting a narrow and slender frame, somewhat androgynous and angular - a bit bony. His skin is ghostly pale, belying the truth of his vampiric pedigree, and while it appears otherwise unblemished, the lashing scars littering his back are hidden by elegant (and old timey) European clothes, or business casual outfits on occasion. There are many, many more scars to join them, all caused by silver burns, long-term exposure to iron, magical burns, etc. Both lobes are pierced as well as his bellybutton. He has a small, ambiguously heart-shaped birthmark to the left of his sternum.

Vayn was born in the lap of vampiric luxury, belonging to one of the oldest vampire houses as a blooded vampire, but this so-called luxury came at a steep price for he was born into the Red Hand, too. Loneliness and isolation, maltreatment and abuse behind closed doors, violent lessons to impart etiquette and good manners, murder plots and too early an introduction to sex, vile politics and desperate grabs for power - forced to fall in line and become a vampire worthy of sitting on the throne. Much of his youth was spent at the shit end of the stick until the soft-hearted child within him had been thoroughly beaten into a pulp just as miserable and cruel as everyone else.
Yet, there was a flicker of himself that persisted - an incessantly leaky faucet. He’d never understood the Red Hand’s ideals, what they really wanted or why the supremacy of their species mattered at all, why they were as willing to go so far to achieve such an arrogant and offensive goal. He never wanted any part of it. He never wanted to bring anyone else any harm, never wanted to live up to the vampire stereotypes as a murderer, a glorified leech, a monster. But he did what he felt was necessary to spare himself the punishment given to heretics and betrayers, slinking through the shadows and doing as Agrivayne instructed him. He always did what he could justify as necessary, losing more and more of what little remained of him.
In a twist of fate, one Cedric Montgomery, the true vampire befitting the crown, approached him in the night with a proposition. Cedric had always been flamboyant, ever the sort to make moves with unmatched regal ruthlessness, and so it was easy. Vayn, caught by surprise, was made privy to the secret movement against the current leaders of the Red Hand, a counter-revolution to the would-be revolutionaries. He joined Cedric, offering financial support to further their endeavors and keep them a secret. To be apart of something meaningful, to tear down pointless traditions and rid vampires of their hatred for others, had given him an avenue to make amends for all the horrible things he’d done - he could do nothing but jump at the chance to do good.
Unfortunately for him, however, someone found out - the youngest member of the Morningstar family, Lilith - and he was dealt with swiftly. Vampires belonging to the other Red Hand families enacted a plan to capture, torture, and kill him, but it was Lilith who stopped them, though her alternative wasn’t the saving grace he hoped it would be. They took him to the underground of Salem’s Crossing and brokered a deal with Deadeye - one slave of highest pedigree in trade for five humans, a blackwyrm, and enough noxium to kill a thousand people - which he quickly accepted, stripping Vayn of his titles, his name, his clothes, and his dignity. He was kept like livestock among others who shared the same fate, shackled and chained to the bottom of death-touched oubliettes and starved of blood until he was too weak to fight back, where Deadeye and his men would have their way with him in as many contexts as could be imagined… Viciously beaten, sexually assaulted, forced to feed on his emaciated, dying fellows to satisfy Deadeye’s sadistic curiosities. They threw him into Strychnine, kept him anchored down by silver weights so he couldn’t shapeshift and fly away, and laughed and laughed and laughed as he lost every fight, gambling assholes of all sorts winning on the best losing horse. Deadeye, of course, had subjected him to much more and far worse than this.
But the quiet, desperately kind person within him managed to survive where the cruelty could no longer. Delusion through his trauma? Perhaps, but it kept him aware, kept him awake, kept him alive, kept him moving forward. And he clung to that tiny glimmer of hope, praying that he’d finally be set free one day, doing what he could to alleviate the suffering of the others who shared his fate. One by one, many of them died, but even still…he held fast, weeping long into the morning hours for eleven years.
Another chance meeting would come to pass, however. Dragged from the oubliette, he was set to perform for a flock of hundreds, but a nosy shapeshifter and a terrifying witch had weaseled their way behind the curtain. Deadeye’s only real competition had been the boy - Vayn recognized his face from old wanted posters - but he’d shown up with a sanguinaurum, and Deadeye had no counter to a legendary witch. Sortia and Loux, as he’d come to know them, had been the answer to his prayers, freeing him from the atrophy and agony of a life of servitude. Despite his relative dissociation, he was grateful beyond words, falling to his knees and bursting into a flurry of relieved wails.
They took him in, dressed him, and offered him what he’d wanted most - freedom. Freedom from responsibility, freedom from sin, freedom from pain, from hatred, from guilt, from the burdens of backward thinking and needless cruelty. They asked for nothing in return, not even help in finding the magical item they sought. So he stayed with them, his new family, aiding them anyway.

Controversial? takes on anime dubs. I’m fluent in both English and Mandarin. There is a high chance comedies work better in a language I understand.
Code Geass Dub > Sub (watched the show dubbed first and didn’t care about it, rewatched it shortly after dubbed and it impacted me more)
Jujutsu Kaizen Dub > Sub (I don’t know why but the JJK sub is so ordinary to me, jokes don’t translate well/land well as much as the dub. Also really love dub Yuji)
Buddy Daddies Dub > Sub (dub Kazuki is a standout)
Seraph of the End Dub > Sub (only watched two episodes but the sub bothered me because the voices of the two main characters didn’t match so I switched over to dub and it was much better)
Sk8 Dub < Sub (I just don’t like dubbed Reki 😕）
Attack on Titan Dub < Sub (I feel like the sub is better at emotional moments that involve screaming)

久しぶり
It's been a while! A ... Very long while.
I apologise. I've been very busy with life. I started part time schooling to get my diploma and I've been doing part time work and indulging in other hobbies.
I had to take a break from watching 2434 vtubers because it got a bit too parasocial. So I took a step back and focused on life.
So.. a lot happened since my last post. Idios, Oriens, Dytica, Krisis debuts, 3D debuts and.. graduations.
It's been over half a year since they debuted. How does everyone feel about the heroes?
I've been very enamoured with Oriens and their dynamic but I like how the heroes have been interacting with each other a lot! (Mostly Oriens and Dytica interactions but all 11 of them in general!)
We had Nijiban in April hosted by Peto and Nagao! 2 livers, one from JP and one from EN respectively to introduce both and bridge the groups!
There was also the formation of a new sub group with their own channel and activities, 七次元生徒会, consisting of Knkn, Akn, Leos, Deron, Ryushen and Sango. I've not watched their content besides the 'King' and 'Queen' cover tbh ehe
And.. graduation..
ID was hit with a mass graduation. ZEA, Taka, Siska, Cia, Azura, Nara and soon Reza and Hyona..
JP had a few on their end. Gundou and Akane.
And EN had their first two official graduation.. Both the foxes has moved on from 2434 and are doing different things in their lives now. Thank you so much Nina and Mysta for all that you have done. (Official graduations because we don't actually know if our dj was forced or what. But if anything, they're doing very well! Ifykyk)
Onto happier news 🥹
Salome-sama had her 3D debut a while back!! And two days ago, Rrn had his! I'm really glad his debut went through because there was so much unsureness regarding his own 3D after Axia's graduation..
A lot of other events in between here and there as well!
Fwcchi hosted his morning radio show in August! It was so fun to watch the different Livers interaction. Fwcchi and Luca interaction always makes me fuwafuwa wwww
Koshien also happened! That was a ride. I kept up with the news and actual event days. Occasionally I did watch the individual coach's streams when I had time to spare!
EN also recently closed auditions for new members so I'm kinda excited to see what new talents they'll bring in for the near future hopefully!
I'm still not really actively watching a lot of the vtubers right now besides Shu and Seraph so I don't think I will be writing much for now. I'll probably be making a side blog that isn't focus on 2434/vtubers and write stories there instead. Because I am having major OP brainrot after watching OPLA and starting the anime.
I've rambled on for so long oop-

He said all this without turning around to face him and when he did he wore exhaustion and hysteria with a sharp toothed leer.
