The Art and Science Behind Lacrosse Sticks
Lacrosse, a fast-paced and exhilarating sport, relies heavily on the players' equipment, and at the heart of their gear is the lacrosse stick. This essential piece of equipment is not just a simple tool for passing and shooting but a carefully crafted instrument that combines tradition with modern technology.
Tumblr media
Evolution of Design: The design of lacrosse sticks has evolved over the years, blending tradition with innovation. Traditional wooden sticks have given way to modern materials like aluminum, titanium, and advanced polymers. The head of the stick, once made solely from wood, is now a complex structure of plastic and mesh, carefully engineered for precision and performance.
Shaft Varieties: Lacrosse sticks come with a variety of shaft options, each catering to the player's preferences and position. Aluminum shafts offer durability and strength, while composite shafts provide a lightweight and flexible alternative. Titanium shafts, on the other hand, strike a balance between strength and weight, appealing to players who seek a combination of both.
Head Design: The head of the lacrosse stick has seen significant innovations in recent years. The introduction of synthetic materials has allowed for more intricate designs, enhancing the player's ability to catch, cradle, and release the ball with precision. The sidewalls and pockets of the head are carefully engineered to optimize ball control and accuracy.
Pocket Types: The pocket, where the ball is cradled, comes in various styles to suit different player preferences. From the high pocket, which offers better ball retention, to the low pocket, providing a quicker release for shooting, players can customize their sticks to match their playing style. Stringing patterns and mesh choices further contribute to the overall feel and performance of the stick.
Regulations and Customization: Lacrosse sticks must adhere to strict regulations regarding length, width, and pocket depth, ensuring fair play and maintaining a level playing field. Despite these regulations, players still have the opportunity to customize their sticks within the boundaries of the rules, allowing for a personal touch that reflects their unique playing style.
Lacrosse sticks are more than just tools for the game; they are a fusion of tradition, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technology. The careful balance of materials, design, and customization options empowers players to express themselves on the field while meeting the demands of this dynamic and fast-paced sport. As lacrosse continues to grow in popularity, so too will the innovations in stick design, shaping the future of this exciting game.

My Headcannons
🧶 Lou has never dated anyone despite the fact that he literally could
🧶 Lucky Bat is insanely smart but is too humble and shy to admit it
🧶 Nolan loves to draw...he just gets embarrassed if anyone sees them
🧶 Lou is self-taught in all the things he's good at since the factory only created him to verbally train dolls and didn't intend for him to run the Gauntlet
🧶 Lou is also semi-self-taught in his vocabulary. The factory only taught him enough to teach the dolls. A "fixed dialogue", if you will. Ox was the one who first began expanding his vocabulary
🧶 Nolan is really shy about it, but he can sing. He sings tenor--almost bass--and can actually sing lower than Lou can
🧶 Ox is also a deep tenor, borderline bass
🧶 Lou is low key jealous of them since his voice can't go that low
🧶 Lou also has a slight southern accent that can only be heard with a few words
🧶 It's Ox's fault for being the one teaching him 😂
🧶 The reason Kitty is so harsh to Tuesday is because she has a major crush on Lou as well (like a Tuesday-sized crush on him)
🧶 Most dolls do, they just won't admit it
🧶 Lucky Bat has a crush on Moxy
This isn't necessarily a headcannon, but I would like to throw put there that any of you who say you wouldn't date Lou...
*deep inhale*
YOU'RE LYING
I, for one, can not look at this face--
Tumblr media
And not become completely infatuated with his whole demeanor.
And anyone who comes at me, I'll have a fire extinguisher ready cause your pants will be on fire

So
At 22:29 or as they would call it 10:29 pm
I have decided I will write out the Danish education system starting with the basics and then going into more detail about like, mainly the secondary part of the system
Dedicated to @faintvibes if you ever wanna read it
So there are three parts, two if you don't continue with a higher education.
Primary - lasts 10 years
Secondary - lasts 3 years
And the third part would be the highest education.
Primary
So basically primary is sort of put into parts, you have year 0 to year 2-3 being put together, year 4 to 6 being put together and year 7 to 9. There are certain classes which start at year 3 and ends in year 8 (Jesus christ right) and some classes last all 10 years. There's a few different unique classes which focuses on design or hardiness to give us experiences outside of normsl academics, and then we have math, Danish, English, history, social studies, religion (because we are a very Christian based society religion is a core subject in primary) and of course some science subjects
Now I think the Danish primary system heavily fails in their science department and part of it is because teachers aren't getting paid enough so therefore those who do get degrees in for science will go else where for higher pays. It's unfortunate and some of us (such as me) didn't have Biology at all for the three years I should've had it since there were no Biology teacher. (Still mad) (still got A+ in secondary) (who said you couldn't become super good at Biology in a year)
Secondary
The secondary part is kind of different. During the start of year 7 you get introduced to the opportunities after primary, in year 8 you get more information and year 9 you get it drilled into you (even though I think Danish schools could do way better at guiding people when it comes to education)
So our secondary system isn't like the American system, we don't just have a singular high school you have to attend.
We have pathways, different schools offers different pathways.
Our pathways are divided into vocational pathways and gymnasium (high school) focused pathways
I introduce, gymnasium:
STX - Standard Student Exam
HHX - Higher Trading Exam
HTX - Higher Technical Exam
HF - Higher Preperation
Pre-IB + IB - International Baccalaureate
EUX - a mixture of gymnasium and vocational school
And I introduce, vocational:
EUD - Vocational education
EUX - a mixture between gymnasium and vocational
Now, you may ask, what are the differences, why are there so many, how do you even choose. Personally, I love having these choices, instead of going through a standard student exam where I would have to have more religion, more about ancient artifact, sports for three years. I got to choose a higher technical exam, where I DONT HAVE TO HAVE SPORT AT ALL
Let me get more into them individually
STX - Standard Student Exam
So, STX, The standard, made in 1850, pulled down from university level to a Latin school, to have some good ol education for the Danish boys.
Now going past all the major history such as girls being allowed into schools, and all of that, I will focus on the modern day version of STX and what it entails.
So the core subjects get described from A - 3 years, B - 2 years and C - 1 year. It's basically how long you have them, so the core subjects in a STX:
Danish A
History A
A third language A/B
English B
Mathematics B
Ancient artifacts C
Social studies C
Religion C
Sports C (last three years FOR WHATEVER REASON)
Biology C
Physics C
Oh wow, ok a lot of C subjects, that's also just very, STX. They are mainly spread out between their first, second and third year so they can have them at different points. As you can see it is also obligatory to have a third langauge, these are often either beginner which would require you to have them all three years therefore A Level, or continuation, which means you have had said langauge in primary, and therefore it is B level because you are already experienced.
Now the core subjects aren't all because STX also have study tracks which adds some subjects.
The study tracks in STX specifically focuses on:
Social studies
Examples: Social studies A, Math A. Social studies A, English A.
Science
Examples: Math A, Physics B, Chemistry B. Math A, Biotechnology A, Physics B. Biology A, Chemistry B.
Art
Examples: Music A, English A. Music A, Math A
Langauges
Examples: English A, French continued B, Spanish beginner A. English A, French continued A, Latin C. Greek A, Latin A.
So depending on the study track of your choice, you could get a whole lot of different subjects.
Oh yeah
The first three months of STX
The first three months of a STX you go through these basic courses, you do that at every gymnasium except for HF and IB. At STX the basic courses are:
Natural Science Course (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
General linguistic understanding
HHX - Higher Trading Exam
So HHX, initially made as an experiment in 1888 and officiated in like 1920. Used to be a vocational school before in 1994 they made both HHX and HTX official gymnasium pathways (recent babies)
HHX, as you may guess, is extremely business and economic focused, as reflected in their core subjects:
Danish A
English A
A third languages A/B
International Economy B
Business Economy B
Math B
Contemporary History B
Sales B
Business Law C
Social studies C
Informatics C
As you can see, no science, just a bunch of economics and business and that's great for the because that's what they love. Of course obligatory langauge.
Now study tracks are put into three boxes
Economics and Sales
Example: Sales A, Business Economy A. Sales A, International Economy A. Sales A, Innovation B. International Economy A, Business Economy A.
Economics and languages
Examples: Spanish/French A, International Economy A. German A, International Economy A.
Languages
French A, Spanish A. German A, French B.
Yeah, HHX
And of course, the basic courses, the first three months:
Economics Course
General linguistic understanding
HTX - Higher Technical Exam
My love <3
So HTX, made as an experiment in 1982 and officiated in 1988, made into a gymnasium pathway in 1994. Had quite a short run as a vocational pathway but damn, only forty years of existence.
This pathway, is extremely science and technology focused, the perfect fit for Donnie. As of course, reflected in the core subjects:
Danish A
Technique A
Math B
Physics B
Chemistry B
Technology B
English B
Social studies C
Biology C
Informatics C
NOTICE, NO THIRD LANGAUGE
Absolutely best part.
HTX feels like a love letter to me
For it's study tracks, it is put into boxes of three yet again:
Applied Science
Examples: Math A, Physics A. Math A, Chemistry A. Math A, Programming B. Math A, Biotechnology A.
Communicationtechnique
Examples: Communication/IT A, Programming B. Communication/IT A, Design B
Technology
Examples: Technology A, Design B. Technology A, Social studies B. Technology A, Math A
As a extra mention, if you choose a study track with Communication/IT A, it replaces Informatics C.
And now for the basic courses:
Science course
Product development (introduction to technology)
Fun little facts, HTX is the gymnasium pathway that focuses the most on real world applications and its often noticed by how well students from HTX do anywhere, because we are so good at working in groups (due to constantly having to do it) and trained in practical work flows.
Thrilling conclusion
Ok so for right now I only did the main big three, I will do the remaining another day since I do need sleep unfortunately, hope you enjoyed the read.

Bitcoin Rally Propels Stacks (STX) Towards $2 Mark in a Striking Upward Momentum
Investor enthusiasm for Stacks (STX) is reaching new heights as the cryptocurrency approaches its all-time high, fueled by positive developments within the Bitcoin ecosystem. Altcoin Sherpa hints at a potential correction for STX in the $2.50 to $3.00 range, adding an air of uncertainty to the depth of the anticipated pullback. On the flip side, CryptoBusy's analysis points to a bullish breakout for Stacks, citing increased activity on the Bitcoin network and forecasting a bright outlook for the cryptocurrency.
Within the Bitcoin ecosystem, Stacks is currently experiencing a wave of optimism among investors and enthusiasts. Despite the price nearing a potentially risky level on longer timeframes, there is a prevailing sentiment that Stacks could surpass its all-time high in the coming months.
Altcoin Sherpa, a prominent crypto analyst, shared insights into Stacks, emphasizing its potential for significant growth despite potential price corrections. Technical analysis suggests a correction within the $2.50 to $3.00 range, sparking speculation about the extent of the anticipated pullback.
Stacks, identified by its ticker STX, is currently undergoing a notable rally, approaching the $2 mark. This upward movement is a cause for celebration among individuals holding the cryptocurrency, with momentum driven by broader excitement within the Bitcoin ecosystem, positively impacting associated projects.
CryptoBusy, a reputable analyst, recently highlighted this positive trend, projecting a multi-month bullish breakout for STX. According to their analysis, the coin is on track to reach the $2 threshold, fueled by increased activity and interest in the Bitcoin network. This growth is seen as a testament to the symbiotic relationship between Stacks and Bitcoin, hinting at a promising future for STX holders and investors.
As a revolutionary Bitcoin Layer, Stacks has transformed the use of Bitcoin by enabling smart contracts and decentralized applications. This innovative platform allows applications to leverage Bitcoin as a primary asset while finalizing transactions on Bitcoin's blockchain. The recent surge in the cryptocurrency market has propelled Stacks (STX) to an unprecedented 43% climb, surpassing the $2 mark. This surge aligns with the broader cryptocurrency market rally, highlighted by Bitcoin's ascent to the $52,000 level.
In the last 24 hours alone, Stacks has outperformed most other cryptocurrencies within the top 100 coins by market capitalization. Its price has surpassed the $2 threshold, inching closer to its all-time high of $2.492. Factors contributing to this exceptional performance include Stacks' distinctive role as a smart contract layer for Bitcoin, the overall bullish trend in Bitcoin's price, and the expanding adoption and growth of the Stacks network.

Reborn Pt. 1
Images flashed through his mind. Memories. Emotions. Trauma. Pain. He felt his heart racing at the onslaught of these things he didn't want. No matter how far back he coiled, they rushed toward him at the speed of light.
By the time they slowed, and he was once again submerged in darkness, murmurs reached his ears.
It felt like being pulled from underwater. The memories that were drowning him were now pushed to the back of his mind as he focused on breathing again. Gasps of air are desperately being taken. Hands rested on his shoulders, a blurry face of green beginning to take shape. "--ou? Lou! Can ya hear me?"
He squinted, trying to get everything into focus. Ox. That was the owner of the worried face in front of him. Over him. Lou realized he was lying down.
Something fell over him. Not physically. The atmosphere in the room he had woken up in changed drastically. Ox's worry had been quickly replaced with a chilling dread. "Lou...?" the word was whispered, almost scared that the doll beneath would respond to it.
"Ugh," Lou put a hand to his head, attempting to sit up a bit. Ox allowed him to. His gaze skimmed his surroundings. Those other ragdolls were standing around the sofa, gawking at him. Mandy was there too, for some reason, and Nolan. They shared a similar look to that of the Uglies.
What made his heart sink was the fact that he remembered them. He remembered everything. The Gauntlet. The wash. The rage and depression that had grappled him for the last decade. Ox. All of it.
His breath still came in short pants as he shook his head lightly, "It didn't work."
Ox's eye watered, daring to take a step closer to the doll. "You...You went to the recycle?"
Lou tried to ignore the way the bunny's voice quivered. "I tried. I...guess it was all just a stupid dream." Gosh, there was a pounding headache growing in his temples.
"It wasn't a dream, Lou." Mandy walked up close to him, kneeling down beside the sofa and angling a small hand mirror in his direction.
The blonde -- now with streaks of brown in his hair -- stared with wide eyes at his new reflection. Mismatched eyes stared back at him, blue and brown. Freckles were dusted over his cheeks and nose.
On the one hand, it felt like sick irony to have been remade so similar to the doll he had adamantly declared ugly just weeks ago. On the other...the recycle had worked. He was -- by his definition -- ugly. One of them, now. "It worked," he whispered in awe, tentatively touching his face to be sure it was real.
Ox frowned at the used-to-be-full blonde. Pain etched in every seem of his face. "You wanted to do this? Lou, why? Why the heck did you...you...you killed yourself!"
The question was ignored. A smile lit Lou's face, and in the next second, he jumped off the sofa and ran out the door. The headache was forgotten about as he booked it down the streets. The ragtag team of misfits followed close behind, calling for him to stop and answer their questions. He didn't have time for that. He could finally go to the Big World! He could finally have a kid and be loved and could forget about this God-forsaken Institute!
Panting but far from tired, Lou stared up at the portal, smiling wildly. Like a child itching to open their Christmas present. The dolls in chase halted, realizing what he had aimed to do.
Biting his lip excitedly, Lou reaches a hand out...
Ripples cascaded around it.
The hand didn't pass through.
It was completely solid against his touch.
Lou's eyes widened, and his breath picked up speed again, dread threatening to overwhelm him. "No...no, please...," he pushed harder against the portal. The ripples increased and the rings multiplied with every push. "No!" He screamed, tears running around his face. He squeezed his eyes shut, slamming a fist against the portal before collapsing to his knees.
Another hit to the portal, weaker this time, "Let me out!" He wailed shakily. "Please!" There was no way to quiet or even muffle the sobs wracking his body from the public. It all came crashing down on him, just like the recycling had. Lou swore that even the recycling hadn't been this painful.
He barely registered the arms that took either hand, holding them tightly. "Oh, Lou...," Ox cupped the side of the blonde's face as he cried. "I...I'm so sorry."
There was nothing an apology could do. There was nothing that Ox could do, and if Lou had the strength, he would've pushed the bunny away. Possibly convert this blasted despair into anger and take it all out on him. But he couldn't. He could only let it out now. Out of everything he had hoped that machine would destroy of him, it didn't take away the gut-wrenching emotions.
Someone else decided they finally wanted to reach out to him, pulling him against their chest into a hug. "I'm so sorry, Lou." It was Mandy. Lou wanted to scoff. He had tried to send her to the same fate. What remorse could she possibly feel for him? "We're here for you now...I promise."
That despair was starting to mix with anger. Everything he had pent up all the years that didn't completely lash out during the Gauntlet. "Save your promises," he tried to growl, but his voice was hoarse and quivering. "I don't want you--I don't want any of you. I just want my kid--" he broke down again. As hard as he tried pulling away from Mandy, she tightened her hold on him.
Ox stood and whispered to Mandy, "Let's take 'im back to my house." She nodded and gently scooped the doll into her arms. He was far too distraught to do anything against it. The others stayed close to Mandy, hearts beginning to wish they could fix whatever was keeping Lou from fulfilling his own dreams.
He started to struggle again in Mandy's arms, pushing against her shoulder in vain. "Let me go...," he panted out, face flushed from crying. "I...I have to try again."
"You know you can't," her tone came out sharper than she intended it to. The second Lou crumpled into a fit of sobs again, she softened her voice. "But I promise you we'll try everything we can t get you through. Can you just hold on a little longer?"
"I've h-held on for t-ten years, Mandy!" Lou pushed the heel of his hand into his eye to try and stop the tears. Maybe if he hurt himself physically, it would distract him from the emotional pain.
Mandy muttered an order to one of the other dolls, and soon Lou's hand was being pulled away from his eye by Nolan. "Stop it. You've hurt yourself enough already." She wrapped an arm further around his torso to pin his arm down to his waist. "Take deep breaths, okay? Like this." She gave him an example to copy.
Oh, he absolutely refused to comply. Lou swallowed and managed to glare up at her for a few good seconds before his own breathing subconsciously started matching her own. "There you go," she smiled small. "Just relax. Get some rest, and we'll try to have something figured out."
It seemed impossible now for him to ever go through that portal. But if they so desired, by all means, let them knock themselves out trying to accomplish what he'd been aiming to do for the past decade.
Circles were rubbed on the back of his hand where Mandy had it pinned down against him. He despised the thought of drifting off and becoming vulnerable to them again...but his body accepted the offer with open arms. Against his will, his eyelids drifted shut, and there was no telling when he finally passed out from exhaustion.
