I don't know how I went from innocent kid movie to possibly hidden corporation involved in AI global warfare.

Okay, I started using Procreate and found out they use stamps. So, I buy hand stamps. Put hand on canvas. I buy head stamps cause I suck at drawing.
Instead of using head stamp, I go "lemme just do a rough sketch of Lou's face to get a general idea of what angle I want the head to be at"
I sketch THIS and it's better than all the trash drawings I've posted for this fandom 😭 Infected doesn't count cause I traced it
But now I hate that I've posted the trash drawings...
Despite the fact there are no repercussions for my failed attempts at being cool on this site, I genuinely feel like I've lost many points because of those drawings 😅

Are you still active in 2024? Because I feel that my hyperfixation on this movie is basically on a dead fandom.
Yes! It's been a little hectic but I'm starting to get back into the swing of writing!
There's also others in this fandom that have been more active than me. I highly recommend scrolling through the accounts of
@lousirs
@subwhizz
@yanguazalie
There's many others and some underrated UglyDolls content-makers that I follow, but those are the first three that come to mind when I think of the fandom. Don't give up!

Part 5 of shell shocked.
Okay, with my alternative idea for this series, I'm debating on either incorporating the ideas into this work or eventually into my novel on Wattpad "Blind Stitch" so long as it works.
BUT, I have a ways to go in both this series and in my novel before I have to worry about coming to that decision. So, here is FINALLY part 5! This one is gonna be a little shorter.
____
The wind still whipped around terribly. Nolan made the decision for them to stay close to the entrance of the office building. It wasn’t safe enough for them to walk back to his house, nor was it a good idea to bring Lou into the crowd of dolls in the mental state he was in. Nolan rested on his knees, Lou still in his arms, and did what he could to calm him down. The building trembled violently and Nolan worried that the infrastructure would collapse on them.
The Uglies stayed quiet. Ox, Wage, and LuckyBat sat on the far side of the hallway, backs against the wall and silent since Nolan rushed in to grab Lou. Mandy kneeled beside Nolan, firmly rubbing down Lou’s gloved-again hands, starting at the fingertips and moving down in some hope of consoling him. Moxy stayed with them on the opposite side of the hallway. There was already a division forming amongst them. Babo and UglyDog paced around the middle of the hall, not sure which side they would subconsciously side with by sitting with them.
“There won’t any other option,” Ox mumbled, eye still trained on the floor. The wind that buffeted against the double doors nearly drowned out his words.
“There were plenty of other options besides subjecting him to mental warfare,” Nolan shot back, passive-aggressively.
“You make it sound worse than it was—”
“Solitary confinement. Does that work better for you? Might as well put him in a straight jacket and toss him in a padded cell.”
Wage finally stood as her anger rose. “Maybe we should! Nothin’ else has worked so far and I don’t see you comin’ up with any ideas! Maybe we oughtta just keep ‘im from blowin’ out the whole Institute!”
Nolan grit his teeth, misinterpreting the heat growing on his skin to be from his own anger. “You can’t possibly be sadistic enough to try that.”
“Unless you’ve got a better idea–”
“Stop talking,” Lou growled. His eyes were squeezed shut. That electricity was building up again, not only from his own emotions but from the arguing going back and forth. He put a hand to his temple where a headache was forming. The shaking started to cease and the wind quieted down now that he couldn’t focus on anything other than the headache. "If all you're going to do is argue, then get out."
Nolan was surprised when Lou forced himself off of the brunette's lap, albeit shakily, but he forced himself to stand. Ox stood up as well. "And leave you alone? Yeah, right, that ain't happenin'."
"Really? Cause you didn't have a problem with it when you shoved me into that room by myself."
Ox cowered slightly, but he was still defensive. "Alright, that ain't been my smartest choice today, but we can try--"
"No," Lou's breathing was labored, his eyes seeing dots from the migraine. "I'm done with these...these experiments. I'm sick of it."
Ox was silent for a moment, watching Lou carefully. "I ain't takin' you to the recycle."
Lou laughed dryly. "Don't worry, I can walk myself there, thanks."
Now the bunny was growing frustrated. "You're a coward, ya know that?" Lou bristled at that, looking at Ox with a mixture of surprise and fury. "The Lou I knew didn't give up no matter what he faced."
The blond towered over the bunny, but Ox didn't cower back. "A lot changes in...what, 7 years?" Lou bared his teeth, glaring down. "Don't think you know me, because you don't. Not anymore."
"Uh, guys?" The dolls turned to see Babo at the front door, peering through the glass window beside it. "We have a slight problem." He pinched his fingers in the air with a nervous look.
Wage grumbled and walked toward the door. "Compared to Sparky over there, anything is a slight problem." She peered through the window, eyes widening when she saw the fleet of robots outside at the bottom of the steps leading to the mansion. "Oh..."
Ox opened the door and stepped out first, Moxy following behind him. The others stayed inside, for no other reason than to ensure that Lou didn't get out of control again. Ox didn't go down the stairs, though. After seeing these things torture his former best friend, he wanted to be on higher ground. "What's all this about?"
They all looked the same, but one of them spoke up. "Mr Everett has sent for Prototype Model 12. Prototype is declared defective and in need of repair."
"Uh huh." Ox didn't believe that garbage for a second. "What kinda repair?"
"Compliance is necessary for the functioning of the Institute. Any hindrance will be eliminated promptly."
That...sounded threatening.
"I ain't gonna hand 'im over to ya, if that's what you expect me to do." Ox stood his ground. Lou could talk about change all he wanted to, but gosh darn it, that was still his best friend.
Moxy wrung her hands together nervously, whispering. "Ox...maybe we should just let them take care of Lou."
Ox stared down the robots, thinking, before shaking his head slowly. "Somethin' tells me that everyone will be a lot safer if he stays out of their hands. Especially if his Creator gets a hold of 'im."
The robot lifted its arm, pointing it towards Ox, transfiguring it to make its hand vanish, leaving a gaping tunnel. "You have twenty seconds to bring out the Prototype Model 12."
Ox stared at the barrel-like arm. "Yeah? And if I don't?"
"Hindrance will be eliminated."
Moxy gulped, hiding behind Ox as he formulated a plan. "Alright, fine, relax. We'll bring 'im out." Ox gently guided Moxy by the shoulders and led her back inside. He kept an eye on the robots as he closed the front door. "Alright, ya'll, new plan." Ox turned to face his friends… “Where’s Lou?”
Nolan jerked a thumb behind him. “He’s right–” No one.
Wage pulled at her ears in frustration. “Where’d he go!? I thought you were watching him!?” She pointed at Nolan.
The brunette held up his hands defensively, eyes wide. “I swear he was right behind me a second ago!”
Banging erupted against the door and Ox instinctively slammed his back against it as the knob started turning. “Alright, new plan number 2: run.”
The gang wasted no time in bolting it down the hall. The front door broke down and the robots flooded in, scanning the area before chasing them down the hall. Moxy looked at Ox who was running beside her. “What was plan number 1?”
Ox’s ears were flapping behind him in almost a humorous way if it wasn’t for the metal deaths chasing them. “Also run, but with Lou.”
They shot through the back door of the mansion, skidding around the corner of the building to do a loop around back to the front. If they could get to the main square, maybe they could at least run through the portal. But they didn’t stand a chance of outrunning something that didn’t have lungs. Other dolls in the Institute took notice of the fleet of robots chasing the gang and exchanged concerned glances with each other. Ox flailed his arms, screaming at them. “Everyone get inside! Hide!”
For dolls who no longer had to practice proper training in how to hide, it was a difficult order to follow, in their defense. They ended up panicking and running into each other before running towards the center of the Institute where Ox and his friends were going.
The group skid to a halt as the other dolls had nowhere else to go. “The portal is closed!” One of the dolls panicked.
The robots formed a line in front of the crowd of dolls, armed and ready to fire. Babo rummaged through his pockets for anything that could be useful, but all he found that could be of any use was a slingshot.
Wage snatched it from his hand. “Gimme that!” She picked up a rock and aimed it at the tin cans. The rock didn’t have enough momentum and thudded unceremoniously against one of their heads. She tossed the slingshot at them and glared at Babo. “Don’t you have anything useful in those pockets!?”
“Everything has a time and place! It’s not my fault this is the wrong time and wrong place for it!”
The robots closed in. One of the robots’ arms began to make a high-pitched whirring noise and it shot out an explosive from its arm. Ox closed his eye.
It froze mid-air.
Ox slowly opened his eye and dolls began to murmur in the dead silence of the Institute. The robots’ eyes blinked red in confusion.
The lights in the Institute began to flicker. Electricity sparked around the outside of the explosive from where it levitated. Mandy watched the darkened clouds above spark with lightning, flashing shades of blue. “Lou…”
The gang stepped back as the crowd parted, dolls backing up quickly in fear as Lou walked through them, illuminated eyes trained on the robots. His hands sparked, blue light glowing up his arms like veins. The explosive began to creak under some sort of weight until it landed on the ground, bent and dented. Lou walked past the dolls, stopping just shy of the outskirts of the crowd.
One of the robots’ eyes blinked red. “Prototype Model 12. Stand down.”
“Or what?” Lou growled back.
It set its sights on the blond, arm ready to fire. “Or elimination.”
Lou stared at the robot, lowering his gaze to its arm. “I choose elimination.”
Electricity traveled down his hands, through his feet, and shot out like vines on the ground. The robots had barely any time to react before they were engulfed by it. Their eyes glitched between blue and red, bodies jerking in every direction until they collapsed on the ground. Smoke rose from their bodies and the glowing orbs of their eyes dimmed to gray.

what happened to writing Uglydolls Lou fics? Are you burnt-out or is it a new hyperfixation?
(I'm not trying to rush you in anyway, just curious:) )
I am slowly getting back into it! I've been working more hours part-time while doing college and planning for my wedding in a few months, so it's a little hectic 😅
But over the past few weeks the hyperfixation I thought was over resurfaced when I got hit with new ideas that are similar to my Shell-Shock series. It's kind of a different take on the Shell-shock, at least with the storyline. I also plan on going through some of these asks to finally get them answered XD!

Writers Block
Okay, so I'm trying to write part 5 of "Shell-Shock" and I've gone through about 4 different beginnings and none of them are working for me. Something just isn't flowing with the beginning.
However, I know what scene I want to incorporate into part 5, so that's what this is.
Below is going to be an excerpt of one of the scenes I'm trying to get to. I just need to figure out how to get to it.
<><><><>
Wage suddenly found herself throw back against the wall. It felt like all her nerves were on end, itching and tingling in every fiber of her body. She took in a breath that had been lost upon impact, staring up with wide eyes into blue ones. "Wh-What are you doing!?"
Lou took slow steps toward her, a dangerous look in those glowing iris'. "You're delusional if you think you can just bail out now."
"Lou," Nolan had his hands out; brave enough to touch the blond, but not stupid enough to commit. "Let's just take a step back and think about this, alright? She's not actually leaving."
"Speak for yourself," Wage spat, her body still held against the wall by some unseen force. "Not my circus," she glared at Nolan, "not my monkey," she panned her glare to Lou. "I'm done tryin' to fix this possessed puppet. Let the factory do somethin' if he's such a problem."
"Oh no," Lou's upper lip curled up in a sarcastic smile. The itching feeling in Wage's body multiplied as he stepped toward her again. She squeezed her eyes shut a little from the discomfort, but she couldn't move. "You said yesterday that you'd help. You can't just toss me to someone else just because you're tired of trying."
The orange doll grunted. The sparks around Lou's hand elicited a brighter glow in their frenzied state. "I'm not gonna wait and get myself killed just for your sake!"
Lou was right in front of her now, noses almost touching. Her eyes widened just a tad. Just enough for him to know she was afraid of what he would do. What he could do. He felt -- like a strange sixth sense -- the electrodes of her microfibers moving faster as her heartrate increased. It made his pupils dilate and everything around him suddenly seemed to bombard his awareness. Every atom that comprised the world could be felt. The way they moved and bounced against each other. How the solid atoms of the walls shoved and pushed just to keep the matter solid.
He felt the atoms the comprised himself pushing against those of the floor. How they never touched, but somehow repelled each other by a magnetic field.
The blond came to just enough to register the rapid movement of electrodes from the surrounding dolls. Nolan's was strongest given his proximity. About two feet away from what Lou could sense.
His breath evened out and Wage swallowed as his pupils dilated back to normal. The glow of his iris' didn't die out. Lou spoke softly, threateningly, "You got me into this mess...now you're gonna get me out." He looked back and forth between both of her eyes. "Am I clear?"
Wage grit her teeth, jaw tight as a rush of anger from the coercive authority filled her. Her body remained bound to the wall. The energy that rippled through her got stronger suddenly and she winced.
"Am I clear?" Lou repeated, hissing through his teeth.
Wage swallowed, huffing out a struggling breath before meeting his eyes through squinted ones. "C-Clear."
Her body was released from its visible restrains and she fell to the floor on her knees. Lou didn't bother seeing the reactions of the others before turning on his heel and walking down the hall. He needed peace and quiet.

I'M ALIVE
AND I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! GHSJCHSBDKAE
I'm actually trying to write the next part in Shell-Shock series, but the scenes aren't coming out the way I want them to 😂 I think I've gone through at least three drafts.
Life has also been trying its best to knock me off my feet and I absolutely refuse to let it do that. I won't explain what's going on until the final test results come back a little after October 6th, but there's doctor appointments lined up for me in the near future.
I really wanna write TODAY, actually...
Maybe I'll do that
THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN SUB FOR DRAWING THIS! ITS SO AMAZING AAAAHHHH
Hey sub! I love scrolling through your page and seeing your amazing art! I saw the one where you did an adaptation on @0perfectimperfections0 story, "Jealous", and I just wanted to say that I loved it! I was also wondering if you could do another story clip part of one of @0perfectimperfections0 stories in your art for imagery! I'd really like to see it drawn out if it's okay with you <3
First of all, THANK YOUU ❤️❤️ I really get all psycho to finish that adaptation-More than 25 pages HAJDKF But I don't regret it and of course I want to make more!!
However I've been very busy to develop the messy ideas and sketches I made for other stories, specially for the Shellshock series that its the one that got me super hyped - I'm gonna share them because I don't think I will make anything better Hajdahd At least for now--
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THIS SERIE IS INSANE!! And the perfect opportunity for me to practice angsty art- Just hope I can have a good day to sit down and develop at least a little comic of aaall the amazing narrative in the story.

Hello beautifuls! I'll be doing some writing this evening after classes and piano practice.
Just thought I should make an announcement after I got a couple requests yesterday:
I will NOT under any circumstances, respond to, post, or write a prompt/request that involves anything erotic. My writing is modest, conservative, and is meant for the general reader to enjoy. This is a kids movie, after all, that we're in the fandom of.
I'm not condemning the enjoyment of those things, if that's what you enjoy. I'm simply saying that you won't get those things from my blog. I also don't write boy x boy or girl x girl. I have my own preferences just like the rest of you.
Obviously, I will write romance. I hint at Mandy x Lou in most of my stories and have made in fanon in my Wattpad book. But explicit, erotic writing is not what this blog is for.
Just wanted to get that out there. Thank you!

Hello beautifuls! This is one of those "I probably should notify my readers before they send in asks wondering if I'm dead"
I'm not
Yet
I'm moved into my dorm now, classes started today, work started today, all the good stuff.
That being said, I'm taking about a week off of writing (outside of my classes) in order to get familiar with my weekly schedule. I'm working 20+ hours a week on top of 6 classes, so prayers are welcomed 😂
But I should be answering those asks and posting some more content after this week. I'll post another info-rant if anything changes ✌️

Part 3 of shell shock pleaseeee
I posted part 3 almost exactly when your ask came in, so, I'm gonna put this with part 4. Enjoy!
This went on longer than I thought it would...
<><><>
The gloves were kept on today. Lou honestly felt as if he’d been put in time-out. He sat on the farthest end of the sofa, watching the other dolls go back and forth with what had to be done. Lou was undoubtedly getting stronger. He had accidentally busted four streetlights on the way to Nolan’s house. That wasn’t entirely his fault, though. The first time was because he noticed the estranged looks passing dolls were giving him and his nerves got the best of him. They didn’t connect the dots, though. The second time was because Mandy had grabbed his gloved hand to offer some support. Again, a rush of emotion had swept through him – one he couldn’t identify – and there went another streetlight bulb. The third time was because Moxy had jumped from the front door to greet them and it startled the poor doll. Boom. That one struck two bulbs at once and blew them both out.
The gloves weren’t doing much good anymore.
Which was a problem in and of itself. They were merely there as a buffer, now. Ox was determined to not let Lou feel more distanced than he already did. He sat beside the Pretty Doll on the sofa, which forced Lou to lean as far on the arm of it as possible to put space between them. Ox wouldn’t have it, though. He gently straightened Lou, pulling by the elbow, and gave a nod of approval when Lou didn’t revert. “There ain’t nothin’ to worry about. You’re fine.” He spoke like an adult chastising a child. It irritated Lou to some extent, which caused the electricity beneath the gloves to spark a bit.
That was the issue. That was the problem they couldn’t figure out. The slightest emotion would set off Lou’s electricity. What was more difficult was that Lou could do nothing to control it. It almost seemed as if he hardly understood anything he was feeling. And they couldn’t just tell him to stop having feelings.
“We need a solitary place to do that.” That was all that Lou caught on to of their conversation. Mandy was the one who had spoken. “That way we don’t have any unpredictable accidents, at least.”
“We could clear out one of the rooms in the mansion,” Lucky suggested, “make sure there isn’t anything flammable in there or that would start off a chain reaction. No windows, either.”
“I think that could work,” Babo nodded. Eyes turned to Lou. He refrained from shrinking under their gazes. “How about it?”
“U-um,” he really hadn’t listened to enough of the conversation to give his opinion. Still, what he heard sounded…undesirable. “Repeat that one more time?”
Moxy came forward, just close enough to appear as if she wasn’t cautious. “We’ll clean out a room in the mansion – make it safe – and we’ll have you go in there and let out all this built-up electricity. Lucky thinks that if you just feel what you want to feel without any consequences, then you’ll be able to control it better.”
“O-Okay.” It sounded logical enough. Lou really didn’t know what he needed. That’s why he accepted the help, after all. If he was left to figure things out for himself, he would’ve just thrown himself into recycling.
With that acceptance, they gathered some things and headed out the door. Mandy was in front of him the next moment, offering both of her hands. He made no move to accept the offer until Ox nudged him. Cautiously, he put his gloved hands in hers and she pulled him up to stand. “I’m not afraid of you, Lou,” she spoke softly, “I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t act like you were afraid of me.”
“I’m afraid of myself.” His eyes stayed on their hands. “I’ve already caused so much damage-”
“Accidents,” she reminded him, leaning down to catch his eyes. “Those were all accidents. We don’t expect anything more out of you right now. I can’t even control my own emotions. I’m not going to expect you to.” The fear was evident in his eyes, and not just because they began to glow an electric blue. She rested her hand on his cheek. “If there’s ever a point where you want us to stop, just tell us. I don’t want you to feel like an experiment either with all these trial runs we’re doing. You’re still a doll, just like the rest of us.”
Wage called out from the door to see if they were getting a move on or not. Ox patted the side of Lou’s leg before heading to the door. Mandy gave the blond an encouraging smile. “Do you need anything right now?” Lou pursed his lips, shaking his head. “Alright. If you ever need anything, let me know. Even if it’s just a hug.”
Well, he didn’t know that was one of the options. It felt unbelievably comforting when he held Ox last night. Did all hugs bring on that feeling? But…he didn’t want to hurt her.
Mandy took both his hands again, about to walk out with him, but she took a second to reevaluate that look in his eyes. Maybe he just needed a hug and didn’t know it. Or he was too scared to hug her.
The lights in the house flickered as soon as her arms wrapped around him. The dolls waiting outside noticed the flashes of light through the window and peeked through. Moxy smiled and ushered them a ways down the street to give them a moment.
Lou closed his eyes tight to try and focus on not burning the whole house down. Or, even worse, hurting Mandy. Everything flickered and one of the bulbs in the living room began making a high-pitched whining noise. “M-Mandy–”
“Take a deep breath.”
He did. It was shaky. Mandy felt his chest expand against her before going back to normal. The whining noise calmed down. A few lights still flickered here and there, but everything went calm again. Lou kept his eyes closed, but they weren’t tight. They opened ever so slightly, just enough to see blue veins along his arms where they were held out. Slowly, he put his hands – still covered – on Mandy’s back. The smallest voltage traveled through the friction created between his gloves and her shirt. Mandy shivered, feeling the electricity tingle her skin. “Don’t be so scared of this that you don’t reach out,” she whispered.
For once, Lou watched the blue streaks of light dance under his felt and didn’t fear it. He held Mandy closer, burying his face into her shoulder in case this was the last time he could control this chaos long enough to hold someone again.
<><><>
It was one of the few rooms that had no windows. Babo did most of the heavy lifting to get the bookshelves and desk out. Books were placed in leaning piles along the hallway corridor. The carpet was rolled up and moved out into the hallway as well. Anything and everything was removed from the room. There wasn’t anything they could do about the hardwood floors, but they hoped it wouldn’t get out of control enough for that to be a problem. The light fixtures stayed inside. Nothing could be done about those. They would surely blow out the second Lou let loose. It wasn’t their concern.
Mandy fussed over his shirt and hair as if committing his features to memory in case something unexpected happened. “The ceiling lights are still in there. If they blow and cut you, tell us immediately and we’ll get you.”
Ox slowly began taking Lou’s gloves off. “The second you need or feel ready to come out, knock three times.”
Nolan stood afar off, leaning against the wall. He hadn’t witnessed anything they talked about. He watched Ox take the gloves off and that was when the sparks were noticed between Lou’s fingers. They reached out in a frenzy to touch something. Someone. The dolls gave Lou more space and Wage opened the door behind him before stepping away. Lou kept his hands close to himself, looking over his shoulder into the empty, dim-lit room. The sparks on his hands lit with more fervor, desperate to reach someone.
The brunette stayed quietly observant until Lou stepped into the room and they closed and locked the door. “Are we sure isolation is the best way to fix this?” His eyes stayed on the door.
“He needs to let his emotions out,” Ox explained, “this is the safest way to do it.”
“No, I got that part,” Nolan nodded, “but...I was under the impression that you guys were helping him. Not an empty room.”
“We are helping him,” Lucky reasoned diplomatically. “By giving him the space he needs to–”
“He’s had plenty of space,” Nolan cut the bat off. “He’s had this entire, barren Institute to let out his emotions. Someone should be in there with him.” He pushed off the wall, prepared to be the one to do that.
“Don’t,” Ox held a paw out. “It’s not safe.”
“Yeah, it’s not safe for Lou,” Nolan retorted, more fiery in his response than intended. “Because after the explanation I got last night, it sounds like the factory basically dropped him off who knows how long ago, and left him to figure everything out himself. And your idea of helping is basically doing the same thing? You’ve trapped him in a room with nothing but his thoughts, which is exactly why he’s in this mess in the first place.”
Ox refused to see it Nolan’s way. Mandy focused on the door, processing Nolan’s words. “We should let him out-” she started.
“No,” Wage spoke up this time, “we’ll get nowhere if we keep holding his hand through the whole thing. He’s gotta learn–”
“How to figure everything out himself?” Nolan shot back, angry now. “You’re not listening to what I’m saying here. Are you listening to Lou? Instead of telling him what he needs and forcing him to comply with it? How does that make this any better than what the factory was doing?”
Wage stepped up to be face-to-face with the brunette. “He said he wanted our help and this is us helping him. This is for his own good, he just doesn’t know it yet.”
Nolan met her gaze evenly. “I wonder if that’s what the factory told him.”
In the room, Lou focused on his breathing. It was completely silent. Any noise from the outside wasn’t coming through. His breaths echoed off the walls now that the room was barren. It was so empty. No sound, other than his heart increasing in rhythm and quickening breaths. His eyes glowed as did the veins beneath his felt. Everything felt too big. He did a few small circles, glancing at every spot in the room.
“I can’t hurt anyone here,” he whispered to himself, eyes darting in every direction. “Th-this is what I need.” His back suddenly hit the wall behind him and his eyes leveled to look at the door–
“Let me out!” Lou screamed, fists slamming against the portal. Ripples danced around his hands mockingly.
Lou’s palms flattened against the wall behind him, air becoming difficult to breathe in.
A shock of electricity went through him. He screamed, collapsing to the ground. The robot hovered over him, pitiless. “Prototype Model 12 is not allowed to go outside these walls. Attempt to do so will result in punishment.”
The lights in the room flickered, making the room flash between darkness and light.
Day and night passed by like clockwork. Like a machine. Days turned to weeks and weeks turned to years. How long was he supposed to stay here? His Creator never specified when he could leave. Lou noticed how the sun never changed. The stars never moved. The sun rose on the same side it descended. It was fake. The stars were fake. The whole Institute was nothing but a simulation to toy with his mind.
The first bulb busted. There were five in total – now four. It was only a matter of time until he was enveloped in complete darkness.
“Ox!” Lou fell to his knees, not able to see even his own hands. He had crawled blindly through the pipe, desperate to find the bunny again after the dolls left through the portal. “Ox! Please! Come back!” He prayed that the bunny hadn’t been destroyed. The solitude was eating the Pretty Doll alive.
The second bulb imploded.
“Ox, get out of the way,” Nolan hadn’t experienced much in his short time, but this had to have been the most angered he’d ever felt.
The bunny stood defiantly in front of the door. “I know him better than you do.”
“Yeah? How long ago was that?” Ox stayed silent, but unmoving. “How long ago, Ox? How long has he been here? The world doesn’t stop moving just because you’re not involved anymore.”
“As your mayor, I’m tellin’ you to let me do my job!” Ox pulled his ears back.
“Anyone can put a fancy title to their name,” Nolan spoke softly. For some reason, it sounded more threatening than anything else he’d said. “A real leader doesn’t need one for others to know he’s in charge. Like the doll you just locked in that room.”
Tears streamed from Lou’s face and his eyes stared wide down at the floor as he hyperventilated. The hardwood felt like it was moving under his feet and he pushed himself farther back against the wall. Legs started shaking. The third bulb went out.
Rain poured from outside and the dolls steadied themselves when the building shook. Nolan glanced behind them through the hallway window to see clouds moving in and the wind slamming against the glass. He whipped back to Ox. “You have three seconds to get out of my way.”
“We can’t keep suppressing his emotions,” Ox tried to speak calmly. “He needs to let them out.”
“There wouldn’t be anything to let out if we didn’t provoke his emotions like this. Fear doesn’t die out, Ox. It doesn’t just go away once you’ve had enough of it. It grows stronger until it consumes and destroys everything.”
Ox’s gaze looked at the window behind the brunette. The streetlights flickered and some busted. Thunder roared above the sound of the rain getting stronger. Nolan was right. It wouldn’t go away. They couldn’t get rid of it unless they destroyed Lou – and that was if Lou didn’t end up destroying himself. Ox didn’t say anything, but he lowered his gaze to the floor and stepped to the side. Nolan didn’t hesitate to unlock the door.
There was one bulb left, just enough to see the trembling doll sitting with his back pressed to the wall. Nolan ignored the cracks of glass under his shoes where remnants of the lights had scattered. That one bulb was holding on for dear life as it flickered. It shook and screamed and whined. It felt like it was going to bust at any second.
Hands wrapped around its sides gently. There was heat from the built-up energy inside of it. Nolan rubbed it gently, careful not to bring it to its breaking point. The sparks inside flickered momentarily before settling down.
Lou let his eyes open slowly, coming to enough to feel Nolan’s hands on either side of his face. The tears were wiped away as best as they could be. Lou’s eyes fluttered, breathing still ragged and much too fast. Blue sparks reached desperately toward Nolan. “I hear you,” Nolan spoke softly, “I’m right here.” The brunette felt the ground trembling and the wind was still chaotic outside. He carefully hooked one arm under Lou’s knees and the other braced his back. “Let’s get you out of this room.”

Where the new fics at?🤨
(Btw If your busy I understand.)
They're filtering in slowly 😂I move into my dorm next week and then college classes start up again the week after.
I also get random surges of motivation. It's not usually consistent, and even when it is, most of that writing motivation is put toward ideas and excerpts that go back and forth between @natalie-the-writer and me.
Days like this are my writing days. Where I don't have to go to work early in the morning and I'm not tired for once in my life XD. So, you should be seeing a few today.
I'm glad you're excited to see my work, though! Usually asks like this get deleted immediately, but I recognize you as one of my dedicated readers. It makes me feel good to know that you've been on my blog long enough to know when a weird amount of time has passed since I've written anything.
If anything major ever comes up where it will be a prolonged amount of time, I will send out a notification. So, don't worry, you'll always be in the know if I need to go a month or two without writing.

Please plsssss do a part 2 on invalidation
So, I didn't have a title yet when I posted "Just Like the Rest of You" but that fic is supposed to serve as kind of a pt. 2 for "Invalidation."
I didn't give it its own section like my other series. My blooper writings won't get a series section, either. Mainly just so I don't crowd up my whole feed with series. Only the most in-depth fics will get a series and must have more than 2 parts to them for me to classify them as a series.

Can I get a part 2 of 'intentions' like the aftermath or something plz.
Ooh, of course! I didn't envision doing a second part to this and am debating if I should go the happy route or the angsty route.
But, let's see what happens.
<><><><><><>
"Lou?" Ox's breath stuttered as tears begin trickling down his face. The bunny dropped to his knees, shaking Lou's arm. "Lou, wake up! Lou, please! Wake up!" Nothing. Those eyes were shut and weren't opening. There was no movement in his chest.
The robot spoke up again. "A new prototype will be made in the following days. I will remove Prototype Model 12's chip to be repurposed." Its hand disappeared into its arm for a moment, reappearing in the form of a knife. It stretched toward Lou's neck, but Ox abruptly hovered half of himself over the doll.
"Don't touch 'im," the words were growled out, tears dripping onto Lou's suit. "I-I'll get it."
The robot's eyes blinked and the knife was detached from its arm and handed to the bunny. "The Prototype's microchip is embedded in his neck on the right side."
It had to be sick luck that Lou collapsed onto his right side. "C-Can...can someone help me move 'im?" He called out shakily. The thought of holding Lou and...it basically just being a limp, dead body in his arms...he couldn't stomach it. Footsteps came over and Mandy was on the other side of the limp form. They managed to get Lou turned over onto his other side, legs twisting in the process, in a way that was just a sickening reminder that he was dead. Ox barely spared a glance up at Mandy after seeing a tear that was not his own land on Lou's temple.
That robot needed a chip, huh? What was so important about it? Ox's hand hovered over the spot where he assumed Lou's chip was. He swallowed. "Wh-What's it do? The chip. Why do ya need it?"
"Prototype Model 12's chip will be used as a blueprint for the next prototype. It is necessary for the transfer of information and activation of any prototype."
"Activation," Ox whispered under his breath. Such a fancy term but he remembered reading that word from somewhere. Where...
A shaky, green paw hovered over the control panel. He had barely managed to gently slide down the third pipe that branched off of the main one. If the rumbling above him was any indication, this room was just below the recycle.
He had to find a way to turn it off.
There was a flashing light above one of the switches. The word above it said 'activated' in glowing red letters. What did that mean? Crossing his fingers, he flipped the switch down and a creaking noise sounded from above. It went silent and the 'activate' light dimmed and went dark. The machine was turned off.
That must be what activate stood for. If he was to turn the machine back on, no doubt it would glow again.
Translating the machine world to their terms wasn't too complicated. Activate in the sense this robot was using was probably the same as just being alive in their terms. If that chip was the last barrier between Lou and life...he'd have to keep it.
Ox wiped his mouth with his other hand, feeling the tears stick to his fur. He looked over Lou's suit minutely before switching hands that the knife was in. The collar of the suit was pulled down just enough and the knife was no sooner back in the other paw. Ox pressed the blade down. There was a sound of cloth tearing behind the paw covering the procedure. Dolls looked away, stomachs churning at the noise. Mandy had to look away, too, tongue between her teeth as she bit down.
"Here." Ox placed it in the open hand of the robot. Metal fingers clasped around the object and it rolled off without another word. Ox rubbed a paw up and down Lou's arm. "Alright...now let's figure out how t' fix this mess."
"Did...you need a moment?" Mandy hesitated a second before laying her hand on Lou's. "I...guess we'll take him to the recycle."
"It ain't over till I say it's over." Ox stood and worked to get his arms around Lou's frame. "Can ya help me carry 'im to his house?'
"What?" She looked at the bunny like he'd gone mad. "Ox, he's--" she lowered her voice, "he's dead." It quivered at the word, still not able to fully process everything that had happened.
"Not while that chip is in 'im. Now come on, help me out here."
"You gave the chip to the robots." Had he lost his mind? Denial was the first step in the grieving process...
"We'll just let them believe that." Ox pinched the fabric of Lou's suit between his fingers just above the lower button. Mandy's mouth was parted open in bewilderment as she saw the hole where the other button had been. There was a slit in Lou's collar where he had torn the fabric, but otherwise, Lou was untouched and unharmed. Ox managed to get Lou's torso off the ground. "Now," he huffed, "are ya gonna help me or not?"
<><><>
The rest of the crowd was left under the impression that Lou would be taken to recycling and be no more. It was a hard pill to swallow. Ox wanted nothing more than to verbally assure that Lou still had a chance. If for no other reason than to rub it in their faces that the same doll they had considered ripping the stuffing out of was still alive.
But, the lie gave them enough space to safely carry Lou back to his house. Mandy did the carrying. So long as she didn't focus on his chest, she could trick herself into believing that Lou was just asleep. Dolls didn't naturally decay like humans and there was no outwardly change in his appearance to suggest anything along the lines of death.
They were satisfied in knowing that until Ox gave the blond a once-over when they laid him on the sofa. There was no pulse, he knew, but he still checked over Lou's body to see if there was any sign of life. The chip was still in there. It had to be doing something. Gently, a paw hovered over one of Lou's eyelids and pulled it back. That was when they were ready to be sick to their stomach.
They'd never laid eyes on a dead doll. To their knowledge, dolls couldn't die until being completely mutilated. They could lose an arm or drop some stuffing and be in pain, but otherwise survive through it. They were meant to be played with, after all.
But prototypes weren't, and that was probably where the differences came from. Lou's eyes were the only indication that he was dead. The whole sclera was now grey. Like an antique bulb that no longer worked. The pupil and iris were now one, darker grey circle within the expanse of the eye. Lifeless. The bright white of his eyes was gone. The sapphires in his eyes were gone. Lou was gone.
The eyelid was slid back shut. Ox tried to forget he had seen it and just focused on how normal Lou looked now with his eyes closed.
"How do you plan on...fixing him exactly?" Mandy stood by the wayside, arms wrapped around herself. Moxy and the other ragdolls kept their distance, too. This was Ox's domain.
Ox had made it very clear that he was extremely protective over Lou. This was his doll. "I don't have a plan, but as long as the chip is with us I think I can figure somethin' out."
"So," Mandy rubbed under her glasses, letting them fall back to her face before speaking, "you plan on harboring a dead body here until-"
"I plan on keeping Lou here, yes. That's what you meant to say." Ox's ears fell back against his head, bristling. Lou, by layman's terms, might be dead, but he wasn't permanently dead and that was what mattered to Ox.
Moxy took careful steps forward, aware of how Ox's paws moved as well as if blocking her from touching Lou. "We should focus on fixing the portal. Especially before the robots come back with a new prototype."
"Great. Have fun."
"Ox-"
"No," he finally put his foot down. He regretted not doing that the moment she had asked about the Big World. He regretted not shutting her down every day after that when she asked him about getting a child. He regretted following along with the stupid and reckless plan of running the Gauntlet. "You can fix the portal. I'm fixing my brother. This ain't how I wanted us to reunite."
The pink doll looked desperately at Mandy as if she could somehow talk Ox out of this. Mandy wasn't focused on her, though, she kept her eyes on Lou. Moxy's eyes swept to her closer friends. They met hers with conflicted looks but otherwise seemed more inclined to fix the portal instead.
"Let's go then, Moxy," Babo took a step toward the door along with the others. Mandy didn't move from her spot.
"You're not coming?" Moxy asked, barely five steps from the door.
Mandy still didn't take her eyes off Lou. They watched her move away from the wall and claim her spot beside Ox, kneeling beside the sofa. He was guarded, at first, but Mandy brushed a thumb across Lou's cheek and he settled back down. "I'm staying here."
"Lou's not gonna be nice to ya just for stayin' behind," Wage spoke up. "If he does come back...it'll be like nothin' changed. He'll still be the same Lou."
"I'm not looking for a reward. This is my place." She was so tempted to open those eyes again. In some vain hope they would be blue. "He's my leader and my teacher. Nothing changes that. The least I can do is support him."
It felt kind of like a slap in the face to Moxy. That much was made apparent when she winced. She flinched more so at the realization that these Pretty Dolls were here long before her and her friends ever came into the picture. There was a system here. Ox had a life here, too. Mandy had a life here and a place within this Institute. Whether it was temporary or not, she had a job. Lou had a job long before the Uglies ever came along. And it was a heavy revelation to realize that she had intentionally disrupted that system with no regard for the lives that had made their place within it.
But, dwelling was not something she enjoyed doing. And she wouldn't start it now. Putting on a brave face, Moxy turned on her heels and walked out. Her friends, minus the two that had nonverbally declared their loyalty to Lou, followed closely behind.
The portal was completely shattered. Almost hollow save for the fractures along the edges. Moxy walked up to it, feeling almost as shattered as the portal knowing that two of her friends weren't with her. Slowly, she picked up a shard of glass and pressed it against the void. "Show 'em who you are," she sang softly, "show 'em that you're strong." She didn't feel strong. Tears welled up in her eyes.
Another piece was placed beside hers. She turned to see Wage smiling sadly down at her. "Show 'em that you know where you belong."
"Open every door," Babo sang as he put another shard in. More and more shards were added until there was one piece left.
"Own your destiny," Moxy slid the last piece in, hoping against hope. Nothing happened. There was no light. No magic. No miraculous turning around of events. It was still dead. Her smile fell and the dolls murmured amongst themselves. What was wrong with it? The shards were still lifeless. Like...
Like antique bulbs that didn't work anymore.
Realization dawned on her and her eyes trailed toward the mansion where Lou was. "Maybe he's the missing piece we need," she sang quietly.

Part 2 to jealous pls
Lou spotted Ox long before the bunny had settled in his heart what exactly he would say. Those blue eyes met his and it hurt more than he wished it had when they looked away. Lou spun on his heel to walk in the opposite direction.
Ox made a small grunt and ran toward the blond. His forearm was grabbed and Lou immediately bristled at the contact. "Lou, wait—"
"Don't touch me!" Lou ripped his arm away from Ox.
"You let Lucky touch you," Ox bit out before he could think better of it.
That caught Lou off-gaurd. "What?"
Ah, darn, no, that was way too fast. He had wanted to slowly build up to it. Maybe crack a joke or two to hear that laugh again or give Lou a few compliments. But that was way too fast. "I…nothing. Forget it. I wanted to talk to ya."
"I don't have to clean on Sundays," Lou muttered, crossing his arms and looking away.
Ox blinked and shook his head. "No, it ain't about any of that. Forget that. I just wanna hang out with ya. Like…like old times."
Narrowed eyes looked down at Ox from the corner of them. Lou rose a brow, bending a little at the waist to give a suspicious look to the bunny. Ox tried not to cower under the scrutiny. "This is a big leap from 'no one needs you or your training'. Why the change?"
Ox averted his gaze, shrugging. "Can't a doll have a change of heart?"
It was another moment of eyeing the bunny before Lou presumably conceded and straightened. "I was going to go to LuckyBat's and hang out for a bit. If you really want to just 'hang out'," he used air quotes on the phrase, "then by all means, follow." Lou didn't wait for a response before he started walking back in the direction he'd been going in.
Ox grit his teeth, hands going to his face for a second in frustration. That stupid bat– no…Lucky was his friend. Besides, there wasn't really any competition. He knew Lou like the back of his hand—
Ears perked up with an idea.
Maybe a one-on-one was too forced. But, if he could show Lou how much better of a companion he was compared to Lucky, then the tables would turn.
With renewed vigor, Ox straightened and confidently walked beside the blond.
<><><><>
"Oh! Ox, I wasn't expecting you today." Lucky set a cup of tea down on the coffee table before Lou.
"Just hangin' out with my friend over here," Ox gave a tight smile and jerked a thumb toward Lou. The blond scoffed but didn't outright say anything.
Lucky hummed, glancing at Lou. "Can I get you anything to drink?"
"Water'll be fine," Ox nodded. Lucky disappeared back into the kitchen and left the two of them in tense silence.
"Why are you acting weird all of a sudden?" Lou finally asked. His legs and arms were crossed, refusing to fully turn toward the bunny who sat beside him.
"I'm not. What makes you think I am?"
"We're not friends. And we weren't hanging out. You can't just barge into my life like that and expect me to pretend like nothing happened between us."
Ox refused to acknowledge how much that hurt him. "What do I have to do to earn your friendship back?"
Blue eyes finally looked at him. "Why do you want it so badly?"
Because Lucky doesn't know you good enough to replace me. He wanted to say that, really. He held back.
"Replace you? What on earth are you talking about?"
Gosh darn it—
Okay, so his filter wasn't working. There were a lot of emotions coursing through him at the moment and it was a little too much to process. All he knew was that his doll was pushing him away and it was frustrating and Lucky didn't deserve to have Lou as a friend and it wasn't fair that Lou felt more comfortable around a doll he'd just met—
"Hey," fingers snapped in Ox's face, "What do you mean by replace?"
Ox set his mouth in a fine line and looked away. "N-Nothing. I'm just…I ain't been thinkin' straight lately and—"
"Answer my question."
Ox groaned, catching Lou by surprised. He rubbed a hand down his face and finally looked at the Pretty Doll. "I'm jealous, okay!? There! I said it. Every time I see you and Lucky hangin' out I just wanna shove 'im out the way and be the one hangin' out with ya. I wanna be the one that makes you laugh like I used to. B-Because I've known you longer than Lucky has and I know all there is to know about ya a-and…," that anger slowly dissipated. "And I still love ya."
Lou didn't say anything for a long moment. Lucky returned, entering the now awkward atmosphere that was no better than the tense one. He set a glass of water on the coffee table slowly. He was barely gone for a minute. What in the world happened? Ox and Lou now looked away from each other. No words. No looks.
A part of Lucky's job was to make sure EVERYONE was happy. And it was painfully obvious that his involvement with Lou wasn't achieving that with Ox. Lucky put on a smile and backed away toward the kitchen again. "I just remembered that I have some…cookies that I wanted to make. You two can be the taste testers once they're done."
Lou made to stand. "I can help-"
"No, no! I've got it, thank you." Lucky forced a wider smile. He gave a significant glance to Ox while the bunny was still looking away. Lou followed his gaze. "You two stay here, relax, and talk." He gave Lou a pointed look.
Disgruntled, the blond settled back again on the sofa. Lucky disappeared into the kitchen and both dolls were left in that awkward atmosphere again. It had never really left.
Ox was the first to speak again, quietly. "I…didn't mean for all that to come out…but it was all true." He didn't look at Lou, but blue eyes watched him carefully. "A-And…I don't wanna hurt ya again by tryin' to be your friend. S-So if ya really hate me and don't want me anywhere near ya…tell me now." He finally looked at Lou. "Cause if ya don't say anything…I ain't gonna stop chasin' after ya."
Lou had his hands in his lap, eyes slowly panning down to stare at them. It was silent for another few seconds while Lou processed. This was what he had wanted…years ago. It almost felt too late for this to be coming from Ox. Lou picked at his pants nervously. "How do I know this isn't a temporary thing? That you won't find something better than me and go chasing after that?"
They both knew Lou was referring to the Big World. The only reason a wall had been out between them was because of that blasted portal. The promise Ox had made to stay with Lou, only to be pulled into the desire to find a kid.
Ox sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. "Lou…I'm sorry. It wasn't even worth it. When the portal was permanently open and I found my kid…I honestly have to say I was disappointed. He…plays with me and treats me good. I barely get a lick of mud on me. He's a good kid." Ox dared to reach over and put a hand over Lou's. "B-But it ain't worth not talkin' to you anymore and not seein' you."
The bunny stared down at their hands. He gave a small laugh. "It…couldn't get better than this, right?"
Lou looked down at their hands. Ox didn't make a move to let go, like he said.
Ox swallowed, becoming desperate. "Please, Lou. Just give me another chance."
Blue eyes still stared down at their hands. "You understand…that if I give you this chance and you leave again…it's over."
"That won't happen. I promise." Ox felt a smile forming on his face.
Lou sighed through his nose and looked at Ox. "Let's hope so."
