My study method
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a brief description of my approach to university studies so far (although I'm still very much in A-level mode and not much has changed!), inspired by @lilywhiphealth on Tiktok and Chloe Burroughs' blog!
Before class - if the PowerPoints are already available beforehand, make your notes as soon as possible! I'm unfortunately one of those copy-word-for-word guys, so having the time to write neatly and go through content at my own pace is helpful, and makes the lecture more like revision than brand new information. I'm mindful of plagiarism, and there's an argument for either writing your notes entirely in your own words, but if you know that all of your notes are the professors', then re-wording can be done in the assignment (which I prefer to do anyway).
During class - make rough notes on what the lecturer adds to the presentation. If anything is said - that's genuinely interesting and relevant - then I write this on scraps of paper, so it can be messy, short-hand and adaptable to the pace of the lecture (and probably only I can comprehend it!). Having the notes pre-made also allows me to give more attention to the professor instead of focusing on writing everything down, meaning I can participate more in discussions and ask questions.
After class - translate rough notes neatly into a notebook, and complete any activities set. I have an A4 notebook for what I call 'neat notes' (what's on the PowerPoints) and an A5 notebook for 'rough notes' (what the tutor says). I file away neat notes into a ring binder after a week's finished (as if I have to go through those dreaded folder checks from A-level again!). I haven't referred to my rough notes for anything yet, but it should useful for my future assignments.
Keeping track - this is my trade secret, so I'm reluctant to share, but it might help someone, sooo... I created what I call the Mastertracker: my one-stop-shop for everything to do with my course. It has an overview of the semester and all tasks that need to be done, as well as a reading list tracker. I guess it's the equivalent to what some people do on Notion, but what I've made in PowerPoint is more handy and accessible to me personally.

Only 9x 2023 calendars left, eek! With any luck I’ll get mine filled in before the year is out 🤪 - it's such a busy time right now isn't it? I do thrive off of being a busy body but I am in need of a little break (who isn't?) and so hoping to enjoy a few days of quiet over Christmas. I love making plans and goal setting and so I'm very much looking forward to using my very own calender to do just that. If you are thinking of ordering from me then please don't leave it too late! The cut off for Christmas delivery us midday Friday 16th December! . . . #2023calendar #floralcalendar #goalplanning #goalplanner #goaltracker #2023goals #studyplanner https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl9W8SIoFDp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

If you have any questions about this item, please use the “Ask a Question” button next to the price and we’ll get right back to you as soon as possible. There are a lot of advantages to self publishing over traditional publishing, To be a successful author, it needs hard work! Self publishing requires you to have knowledge of every aspect of the publishing process, like designing, formatting, and marketing. Platforms like Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing make self publishing accessible to everyone, but it can feel overwhelming to independent authors. What do you need to use Amazon KDP? What technical skills do we need to meet Amazon KDP requirements? How to promote our book? Here are seven tips and tricks to hack Amazon’s self publishing platform and be a successful author. 1. Make Your Book's Title and Description Perfect: Student Planner Weekly A good Amazon book title and description are important for your book to rank well on Seo. Your book description gives readers a taste and overview of your writing skills and tells them exactly what to expect when they buy your journal or planner . Your journal title and description should look professional. A poorly written description have huge impact on sales. Run your blurb through a grammar checker to check for mistakes and readability. Aim for a genre-appropriate, specific set of rich keywords. Student Planner Weekly We’ll talk more about keywords in the next section. Amazon will allow you to use HTML formatting on your descriptions, so get the benefit of this awesome feature. You will be able to organize your keywords. 2. Use long-tail keywords like Student Planner Weekly. One of the most important aspects to getting ranked on Amazon self publishing is the seven keyword boxes. They allow you to add up to forty-nine characters. A keyword is a word or phrase that people type into the top search box on Amazon to find a specific journal or planner... You need to focus on specific long-tail keywords. Instead of a broad, short-tail keyword, you might enter Student Planner Weekly (a specific long-tail keyword). You can research these using a keyword research tool like Google Keyword Planner Tool, hire an expert in KDP categories and keywords, or simply search for them manually by yourself. Look for keywords that give you only a few results, not thousands, to beat your competition. 3. Choose Extra Categories Amazon KDP has preset categories for books, and it’s hard to choose the best one for your work. When you upload your journal or planner interior, you can select two Amazon categories. Your book might fit into multiple categories. You can also increase your chances of being a bestseller in a category when you choose less competitive categories. A little secret : you can add additional categories with these simple tips : If you can call KDP customer service, KDP will allow you up to eight more categories, for a grand total of ten! 4. Purchase a High-Quality Designed Cover The first thing that Amazon visitors see is your book’s cover. A high quality cover can make a big difference and impact your sales numbers. There are a ton of elements that impact whether a book cover is engaging.
Various classifications have different expectations. A basic cover does not take into account genre trends and expectations. A nonfiction book should not look like a kid's activity book or vice versa. Unless you’re an experienced graphic designer, avoid using tools offered by Amazon. Find an experienced designer who is familiar with your theme and check their portfolio. Try to reach out to other authors for recommendations, or browse Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to find a freelance designer who works with other authors. 5. Emphasize covers and interior design. The quickest way to a one-star review is an ugly book cover or interior. When your print book format is a mess, Amazon's visitors will move on to the next competitor. Don’t gloss over this step. There is a lot of software, like Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator, that allows you to format your book and make it look professional. You can also outsource your formatting to an expert. In our case, the Student Planner Weekly is already formatted for KDP, so you will save a lot of time and money. 6. Adjust Prices for International Markets When you publish a journal or planner on Amazon KDP, make sure that you adjust the price accordingly .99 : This is a marketing psychology that works on any markets. If KDP adjusts the price automatically for other markets, You can manually change it to international prices, however. You can add a .99 to the end of each price for each currency. And keep your eyes on royalty rates. You should also monitor the pricing boundaries for 30% and 70% royalties for each currency. 7. Becoming an Affiliate for Your Own Book Promote affiliate links for your own book and earn 70% royalties! Use your Amazon affiliate link on social media, website links, and anywhere else you can think of. Your amazon affiliate link allows you to earn additional 4% on the selling price of your book. It seems like not much, but that additional 4% can add up quickly with enough sales. Keep in mind that you only get this income when someone buys through your affiliate Amazon link, not from Amazon's search box. Finally, make Amazon KDP your friend; Using tips and tricks like these can assist you in succeeding on Amazon KDP.

Flask WTF 'StringField' object has no attribute 'translate'
I am relatively new to Python, and I've been following the Miguel Grinberg Flask Mega-Tutorial.
I have a very simple form which, when I try to submit, I receive the following error:
AttributeError: 'StringField' object has no attribute 'translate'
Here is the form:
from flask.ext.wtf import Formfrom wtforms import StringFieldfrom wtforms.validators import DataRequiredclass CreateSubjectForm(Form): name = StringField('name', validators=[DataRequired()])
And views.py:
@app.route('/create_subject', methods=['GET', 'POST'])def create_subject(): form = CreateSubjectForm() if form.validate_on_submit(): subject = Subject(name=form.name) db.session.add(subject) db.session.commit() return render_template('create_subject.html', title='Create Subject', form=form)
My template is as follows:
{% extends "base.html" %}{% block content %} <h2>Create Subject</h2> <form action="" method="post" name="create_subject"> {{ form.hidden_tag() }} <div class="form-control-label">Name: </div> <div class="form-control">{{ form.name(size=45) }}</div> <input type="submit" value="Create"> </form>{% endblock %}
I have been unable to solve this problem, but here is what I have looked at.
One concern arose from the fact that PyCharm tells me that it cannot find wtf in flask.ext in the line from flask.ext.wtf import Form. I am using Python 2.7. From research it appears that this is the correct way to import for 2.7. I tried changing it to from flask_wtf import Form and the PyCharm error goes away, but the behaviour is the same.
From the traceback I thought it looked like something has gone wrong with versions and packages. I double check I had everything installed with pip.install and it appears I do - here is pip.freeze from the virtual environment:
Babel==2.2.0blinker==1.4coverage==4.0.3decorator==4.0.9Flask==0.10.1Flask-Babel==0.9Flask-Login==0.3.2Flask-Mail==0.9.1Flask-OpenID==1.2.5Flask-SQLAlchemy==2.1Flask-WhooshAlchemy==0.56Flask-WTF==0.12flipflop==1.0guess-language==0.2itsdangerous==0.24Jinja2==2.8MarkupSafe==0.23pbr==1.8.1PyMySQL==0.7.2python-openid==2.2.5pytz==2016.3six==1.10.0speaklater==1.3SQLAlchemy==1.0.12sqlalchemy-migrate==0.10.0sqlparse==0.1.19Tempita==0.5.2Werkzeug==0.11.5Whoosh==2.7.3WTForms==2.1
