Don;t Starve stimming headcanons please!
Tbh I actually don’t have a ton, but there are two characters I am very much “*points* autism” about:
Wilson
He’s got two different ways of stimming: shaking his hands and playing with his hair. He does a sort of “excited teen girl” hand shake whenever he’s doing science or just gets excited. Hair twirling is more tied to him getting excited or nervous. He’s such a baby girl and his stimming shows it /hj
Willow
Fidgeting with her lighter is hers. Admittedly I’m simultaneously “she is so autism”, “she is so adhd” and “she is so neurotypical but she’s traumatized” about Willow, so I’m not like 100% for this headcanon, but it is one I have so might as well share. If she gets too excited, nervous, etc etc she NEEDS to have her lighter in her hands to calm down.
Bonus:
Walani
I headcanon her as adhd but might as well include her here anyway; she paces. A lot. For being as lazy as she is she paces as a fidget/stim. She also has The Leg Bounce™️ when she’s chillin out of course

@wiihtigo HELP SAME. i was in special education in hgihschool but wasnt diagnosed as anything at the time and i got access to this like sensory room our class had made to help autstic students calm down/get focused to work and i remember always being like ''i really like being in the sensory room cause the lights are dim and its quiet and theres soft surfaces in there i like to lay on... but thats for autistic students who need it so i shouldnt try to reserve my time im taking away THEIR resource'' meanwhile my teacher was staring literal bullets into the back of my head trying to beam an autism diagnosis on me because she saw how i would have the 'Tism Meltdowns in any room with slightly too bright lights or too many people speaking LOL

Golden retriever Service dog in training stimboard with red and gold for me!!!
Service dogs are super cool (as someone who is hoping to get my own prospect in October, I may be a bit biased) and I would like to take this opportunity to share some information about service dogs and disability! (Keep in mind I live in the United States)
ESAs and Service dogs. What's the difference?
ESAs provide comfort to their owners and have access to housing that does not allow pets. They require a doctor's note in order to have that ability. They are NOT allowed in public places that do not allow pets.
Service dogs provide a service, be it either a task or work that is specifically designed to mitigate a disabled person's disability. They are required to be given access to non-pet-friendly public places by law (as per the ADA). They do not need any documentation to be considered legitimate.
2. You do not need to register your SD online!
Some states have a voluntary SD registry, but they are not required in order to have public access. The majority of online "registrations" (with the exception of some government registries) are in truth scams designed to take advantage of disabled people for their money, or to give false validity to fake service animals.
3. (Most) Disabled people do not want to be spoken to about their SD constantly!
While some SD handlers are more than happy to discuss their service animals with anyone who happens to come across them in a Walmart, most are not. So while it is generally okay to ask politely "Hi, may I have a moment of your time to ask you a question about your dog?" It is also crucial that you are respectful if they decline. Try to be understanding, many of us do not have the "spoons" or energy to explain the same thing multiple times a day.
4. Service Dog Etiquette
Do- politely walk past the animal, avoiding any behaviors that may be distracting to the dog.
Don't- Speak to the dog, make eye contact with the dog, or pet the dog. Please, do NOT pet the service dog.
Do- Go about your day as normal, ignoring the animal and handler.
Don't- Treat the handler any differently, take this as an opportunity to bombard the handler with questions.
I hope you found this helpful!

Autism and Education
I'm considering going to back to school. I keep trying and it's been a abysmal failure each time. College classrooms are not set up for autistic folks. They just aren't. I have my autism diagnosis (really late in life diagnosis... like for my 45th birthday present late) but I am at a loss on what to request for accommodations so I can actually succeed with these classes.
I'm throwing this up to see if anyone has resources on what would be good to request. I know additional test time will be needed, particularly with math.
I appreciate any and all help. I'm very close to finishing a degree and would like to make this happen. It'll open a world of job opportunities for my field.
Thanks in advance.

Playlist for Feeling Alive:
I’m working on a project of sorts to identify what in music brings out feelings of frisson. Frisson is often described as “goosebump moments,” or “the feeling of being alive.”
I would like to know what songs, or pieces of songs cause frisson moments for you. And if you can identify why it makes you feel that way, that would be really cool too! You could put it in the reblogs or reply or repost.
If you’d like an example, the opening note in This is Berk by John Powell, or the flute melody of Wind by Akeboshi, are moments that tug on my heartstrings every time I listen to them.
Thank you in advance for your responses!

Thank you @autistictyping
“Maybe that child isn't argumentative.
Maybe that child is a curious, deep thinker who needs to know why and how the world works.
Maybe that child wants to be helpful, but doesn't understand why your request is necessary.
Maybe that child is inquisitive and brilliant, and can come up with ideas and solutions you hadn't thought of.
Maybe that child is a charismatic leader, and they just need a little help develop negotiation skills with which all parties in a conflict can win.”

The Kinky Trivia game is still on. We've donated one of our bling chain floggers and a unicorn riding crop as prizes. Typically, these floggers are used with violet wands, along with a body contact cable. But they are also great for sensation play. If you've been spanking someone, you can bring the cold chain over the hot areas. You can apply the bottom of the handle to pressure points, They're on sale now at https://thedungeonstore.com/collections/e-stim/products/bling-chain-flogger
