legitimate question for the star wars people (I'm watching through clone wars rn and absolutely loving it): is each planet seriously only one biome? I can't believe I'm only picking up on that now but like. was this a cute and fun decision made at some point or did they say "tatooine, the desert planet" in anh and then applied that to every planet ?? it's. fine I guess because they diversify by going all over the galaxy, but I feel like they could get so much more mileage out of existing planets before expanding the universe unnecessarily. I'm a little bored of it honestly - once I noticed it I can't go back.

general thoughts on andor is that it rly isnt just a great star wars media but just a great sHOW in general and there's rly many reasons but

conceptually I think it is exactly what it should be, but not what I expected it to be. When announced I thought it was going for something like Solo, this one-man show about Cassian that rly just exists to explain his backstory and referencing other star wars properties.

but instead it is the best case scenario: a prequel to rogue one. not just in the timeline, but in tone and theme and in spirit.

the themes of rebellion, hope and standing up against oppression. there's also direct motif references ("climb!") but then there's ALSO just like, content wise a lot of parallels. It's a story including heists, underdogs fighting back, going undercover, disguises, morally grey misfits trying to do good, yet hitting new storybeats and explore it.

but also it's still about cassian, but exploring him a bit more. which is so cool because watching rogue one I rly love andor but I've always felt like oh we couldve explored him just a bit more- and now I'm like. Now that won't bother me anymore, because we got this amazing show doing exactly that. Realising that the showrunner of andor is the writer of rogue one makes so much sense, it is just so consistent.

I know I'm biased because I love Rogue One but you know, this show really reminded me of why I love that movie. I can't wait for season 2, we might end up with a perfect "trilogy" of s1, s2 and then rogue one as a conclusion.
