We get to see plenty of women in the Demon Slayer Corps and the Kakushi buck some of the social conventions of Taisho-era Japan, but is the same true for the Nichirin swordsmiths? (Or was the lack of canon female residents of the Swordsmith Village just an oversight on Gotouge’s part?) You decide!
Reblogging with your own headcanons is not required, but very much encouraged!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the KNY swordsmith village's opening song. A lot of ppl didn't like it when they heard the leaks, and I felt the same way too, but after finishing the movie and hearing the whole thing, yeah, the op has really grown on me and it actually sounds rlly nice. It really does fit the season's mood imo.

Csn you make au’s for fics? Anyways thinking abt an au where this is the “mission” Zenitsu is on while Tanjiro is in the SSV and it just never comes up until he finds pictures of Zenitsu as a ‘baby’ but Uzui is holding him which leads to some *very* strange questions
THAT WOULD BE SO FUNNY
Uzui and Zenitsu sitting stone faced like 😐 that’s not us…
you can absolutely make aus for fics and let me tell you, I have at least 100 of them for my own fic in rotation in my head. Spinning. Like a microwave.
(I almost made the fic take place specifically during the SSV arc, but I wanted Tanjiro to get to play with a baby and also things happen so quickly during/after SSV that I was worried about fitting in all the shenanigans)

🗣 + Muzan, please!
Send '🗣' + a character to hear the mun's opinion about that character // accepting!
[[ Ah yes... your token shonen villain who hates the world because he's bitter he can't walk in the sun and the rest of the world can. Bro got such a huge L handed to him by Yoriichi that he gotta torture or kill anyone who remotely takes after him. He's the OG hater. One hater to rule them all
Or so I originally thought. Before you opened my eyes ;w;
If there's anything I liked from the SSV arc, it's that one extra Muzan scene. It was desperately needed for audiences (myself included) to start paying a little more attention to who Muzan is, and why he ended up where he is. Muzan is SO MUCH more than I originally thought and it's my bad for overlooking him when I read the manga.
Muzan wanted nothing but a normal human life, and he got a little more than he wished for. He then did what I believe is the most human thing to do when you get a little too much power: become drunk on it.
Muzan is definitely a villain that doesn't simply hand you the keys to understanding who he is. You gotta go that extra mile to understand him, or at least try to. But I LOVE that about a character!! And it's the fandom's plague that so little people are unwilling to do that effort. Enough "hee hee" jokes and more "Muzan never wanted to become the King of Demons, he just wanted to sit on a rock basking in the sunlight listening to birds chirp."
I can now say that he's an excellent anime antagonist and that I look forward to seeing more of him. He's so much more than the sum of all his demons, he's a fascinating character in himself... and I would never have reached that level of interest in him if it weren't for your passionate takes on him ;w; ]]

From the Kaidan/mShep chapter of the Joker fic I’m having too much fun writing. Shenanigans!
----
3 years, 2 months, 21 days before Hackett’s order to retreat, SSV Normandy SR-1, en route to Feros
“Relationships between officers that are unduly familiar, do not respect differences in rank and grade, and/or may be prejudicial to good order and discipline are prohibited.”
 - Alliance Naval Code 5370.2D
“So how long have LT and the commander been a thing?”
Joker pauses in mid-chew as Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams drops her tray onto the table, her butt into the chair across from him, and a grenade into the evening’s conversation.
She stares at him expectantly. He stares back, momentarily speechless.
“A thing?” Tali asks from beside him. “What does that mean, ‘a thing’?”
Williams cocks an eyebrow, dumping the cup of gravy unceremoniously over the whole of her plate. She nods towards Joker. “He knows what I mean.”
Joker swallows the bite of whatever it was he’d put in his mouth—he’s having trouble remembering at the moment—and says, “They’re not.”
Williams snorts.
“What is ‘a thing’?” Tali asks again, puzzled.
Joker ignores her, repeating, “They’re not.”
Williams rolls her eyes and chuckles. Through a mouthful of gravy-smothered, rehydrated chicken, she says, “Yeah, okay. I was born in the morning, but it wasn’t this morning.”
“What?” Joker scrunches his face up at the decidedly planetbound turn of phrase. Ashley grins, chewing all the while.
“Liara, do you know what they’re talking about?” Tali turns to the asari as she sits down next to Ashley.
“No?” Liara answers.
“Ashley says Shepard and Kaidan are a thing,” Tali says, putting weight on the last word.
“They are not a thing,” Joker mutters.
“What kind of a thing?” Liara says, confused.
“This is my question.”
Williams pierces Joker with that thrice-damned eyebrow. “Look over there and tell me you don’t see it.”
“Look where?” Liara says, glancing about the mess.
“See what?” Tali says with growing frustration while Joker glares, also with frustration.
“Ash, I was enjoying my dinner, do we really need to—“
“Yes, because I can’t be the only who sees it,” she says, wicked gleam in her eye. “Look. Over. There.”
“Oh, for the goddess’ sake, where?” Liara says with exasperation.
Ash points with her fork at the pair standing on the opposite side of the mess, engaged in some sort of conversation over one of the diagnostic consoles next to the sleeper pods.
Staff Commander Shepard. Staff Lieutenant Alenko. Working.
“They’re working,” Joker gruffs, spearing a cooked carrot with his fork.
“I don’t see anything.” Tali squints in their direction. Or, turns her helmet slightly in such a way that Joker’s come to interpret as squinting.
This is not how he thought dinner was going to go.
“You don’t see anything? You don’t see anything?” Ash waves her fork in their direction, a spot of gravy arcing off of it in Joker’s direction. He idly—and precisely—calculates that the gravy will land right on top of his pile of dry carrots.
And it does. With a plop.
He sighs.
“Ashley, you’re going to have to give me more than that,” Tali says, head still cocked.
“Oh come on,” Williams says, “I can’t seriously be the only one who thinks they’re together.”
Liara’s eyes widen, saying, “They’re together?” as Tali cocks her head the other way, simultaneously saying, “Wait, are they not?”
Joker thunks his head into his hands, Ashley cackling with glee. Stars, explode the drive core now.
She jabs her fork at Joker now, triumphant. “See? I’m not the only one! They’re a thing.”
“They’re not a thing,” Joker says irritably, crossing his arms.
“Oh, that’s what thing means in this context.” Tali nods sagely.
“Tali thinks so,” Ash says, smugness radiating through her mouthful of food.
“You don’t?” Tali looks at Joker.
“I’m not having this conversation.”
“Oh come on, why not?”
“One’s our CO and the other’s your marine detail leader, and also it’s none of my business, and also I don’t care, that’s why.”
Liara furrows her brow. “They are together, then? That would explain…” She trails off, lost in thought.
“I figured it was obvious from the moment I came onboard,” Tali says. “They’re always in each other’s space—“
Ashley picks up the thread, “—and the way they’re always not-quite-looking at each other—“
“—oh, and the way Shepard laughs! It’s different around Kaidan,” Tali continues.
“You guys, there’s no way they’re together. There’s no way!” Joker says crossly.
“Why do you think that, Jeff?” Liara inquires.
“One word: fraternization.”
The word hangs in the air a moment before Tali hesitantly says, “Sorry, I don’t think my translator quite got that. What was that word?”
Ashley huffs and shakes her head. “‘Fraternization.’ It means ‘relationships between crewmates.’”
“And it’s against Alliance regs,” Joker adds, “which is why those two are not a thing.”
Ashley rolls her eyes. “Right, because Shepard clearly cares about regs. Have you seen him drive the Mako?”
“No,” Joker answers, gesturing to the crutches behind him.
She stifles a chuckle. “Okay, well, you’ve certainly had to rescue us from enough narrow canyons to know that he—“
“Yeah, yeah, fine, point taken,” Joker says as he waves her off. “But have you met Lieutenant Integrity over there? Alenko would jump out an airlock before he intentionally broke a rule. Any rule.”
“Maybe,” says Tali, “but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel something.”
Liara coughs. “Or that Shepard might feel something, too.”
The four of them watch the far corner of the mess for a moment. Shepard says something, and Kaidan chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. His face falls slightly, looking down as he responds to whatever Shepard had said. Shepard’s face twists for a moment, reforming into a small smile when Kaidan looks back up. He leans forward just slightly, resting his hand on Kaidan’s forearm. Whatever he says makes Kaidan grin.
“Yeah, they look like a thing,” Liara says matter-of-factly.
“Such a thing,” Tali agrees.
Williams just grins wickedly at Joker, who scowls and goes back to eating his dinner.
It’s none of his business, anyway.

tagged by @ikuina-takashi. as usual if you see this consider yourself tagged
1. Three ships: well, let's see... Flying Dutchman, Edmund Fitzgerald,-- I mostly focus on OC/canon ships and selfships but I also think Walter Skinner should put Mulder and Scully on leashes, the Brothers Day and Dusk (Foundation) should make their weird insular thing even weirder (and add in the android lady too probably), and literally everyone on the SSV Normandy should fuck each other
2. First ever ship? I assume that was Mulder/Scully just... by default
3. Last song? We've Got a Score to Settle, The Dear Hunter
4. Last film? Deadgirl which I watched for the promise of necrophilia but it was just incel teenagers and the zombie girl they found in an asylum basement. so, like, necrophilia-adjacent? but also incel boys, so that killed the fun a bit. also the script was ass. Noah Segal is cute and nasty in it though
5. Currently reading: I finished two books in as many weeks recently which is downright speedy for me but being a less-than-enthusiastic reader I don't feel like jumping into another book right now. also I do still have multiple books that I have been in the middle of for months and months that I keep picking at because technically I do want to finish them but the act of reading is so ughghghghghhghhhhhh 💀 (tbf one of those books is A Little Life which is. a rough read, to put it simply. so I'm not exactly tryna plow through that at top speed yknow)
oh, wait! I'm also reading comics, which I do read at a more reliable speed -- currently in the middle of a Loki arc reread and also a reread of History of the Marvel Universe (2019) because I just love it
6. Currently watching: Stargate SG-1, Frasier, Carnivale, Person of Interest, The Wire, Riverdale, Foundation, Servant, From, and Twin Peaks
7. Currently consuming: nothing, I just ate. the rest of this tea, I guess
8. Currently craving: eh I'm good for now

Ok, I'll bite that lure- tell me a bit about Helena. What are some impactful character moments for her? How did she start being a Batgirl- Her motivations? What is her fighting style like?
ssv
This is gonna be long and rambly SORRY ;-;
Well, she got the honor and privilege of being kidnapped by the League of Shadows with one of her brothers when she was ten as a means of getting to her parents, but the biggest arc for her is a confrontation with the Joker. She's smart about her crimefighting in that she knows not to go after high profile villains, so she steered clear of Joker up until she started following clues for a case that looked to be a conspiracy, and it isn’t until she gets to the warehouse where all the evidence should be that she realizes it was an elaborate trap set up by the Clown Prince of Crime himself. The tl;dr version is she tries to nope out and gets hurled off the roof and breaks her leg. She tries to jump back into crimefighting as soon as she's healed to prove that she's capable, but also hides the Trauma™️ she experienced to the point where she gets into a fight with a gang leader and almost kills him when the fight starts to parallel the one with Joker on the roof.
Another plot (plots?) idea I have is that she goes to Gotham Academy and hangs out with a Forensics Club that goes around solving amateur crimes on and off campus and has to hide the fact that she's Batgirl when they run into trouble with Batman's Rogue's Gallery :^)
She got into crimefighting because her dad taught her to investigate things too well as a kid and she figured out The Family Secret by piecing the evidence together L O L She wants to follow in the family's footsteps and doesn't really process the danger of what they do until some more intense fights later.
She's also a big parkour enthusiast (thanks to her bros) and will use anything in a fight to hop around--buildings, cars, people--and has incorporated some trapeze moves Dick taught her as well in her fighting. She also uses a whip (as a nod to her mom, Selina) to both get around and snag baddies trying to get away

>A stream begins, depicting a black-armored figure, tumbling backwards out of the cargo airlock of what is unmistakably the SSV Normandy SR1, aglow with an aggravated-looking indigo glow... as they start to fall, and accelerate, that glow begins to increasingly shift towards magenta... and additionally, it starts to become less and less wild, more, sharp, forming into an almost wedge before them, splitting the air and turning a former free fall into something looking distinctly like a controlled dive, quickly turning to a comet-like streak as they continue to accelerate downward on steeply arcing trajectory toward what looks to be some sort of ruins in the middle distance and equally quickly begins building up a re-entry flare against whatever manner of shield that is in front of them.
>The angle cuts. We're on the ground now, looking up. In the background, near the nearest city of the colony proper, a great unnatural storm front barely masking the shape of some titanic spacecraft, shaped vaguely like a cuttlefish, red energy flicking between it and the clouds in short bolts. Then, closer, a familiar red-violet streak, now traced in orange about the edges, though the odd mote of sunshine yellow breaks away from this additional layer, as they rocket on a sharp downward angle now, the camera turning as they pass across its view to slam into a point near to the train station, cratering the earth and staggering a number of Geth combat platforms, actually punching into and through an armature that was overlooking the loading of... something onto one of the trains. As the figure picks themself from the wreckage, the train that has just been loaded with the strange object, too blurry at this range to see clearly due to some sort of electromagnetic distortion, departs from the station, accelerating away. The figure, bearing a crest on their left breast of an N7, stamped in gold, with white and red stripes leading off of it in a pattern that runs down their left pauldron and arm, pulls a boxy contraption from their back, which unfolds into what is clearly some manner of firearm, which they promptly begin unloading into the Geth while the machines process her unorthodox arrival and quickly scramble for cover, one of the heavier units deploying a dropshield where they stand while the others take up behind boxes or various plated metal railings and crates scattered through the freight terminal. The weapon soon begins sparking and smoking, red holographic warnings lighting up along the side of the barrel, prompting them to toss it aside and pull some manner of blade from their hip, that indigo aura wrapping around them again as they seem to almost teleport behind and above the nearest piece of cover, burying it deep into the chassis of the Geth hiding behind it as the energy aura around them seems to ripple rapidly from the direction of their remaining targets. Wasting no time, they'll repeat this maneuver a couple times, Charging to the next layer of cover and handling the bots using it, until they finally reach the heavy that deployed the dropshield. It tries to open up on them with some manner of heavy shotgun, breaching whatever kind of shielding they've been maintaining only for the spray to spark uselessly off of that black armor, leaving little silvery scratches, all as their right arm lights up bright indigo, blade included, and they slams it down, cleaving the machine from shoulder to hip. They'll whip the blade to get the blueish-grey residue of it's... fluids off, then resheath it at their hip, looking at the remaining train as if calculating. They'll pause, look directly at the camera and nod, then break off into a sprint towards the train, pulling a pistol from their other hip, shooting out the connecting bolt to uncouple the front car of the little platform train from the rest, and program it to run at highest output towards the main colony station.
