Summary: It almost feels like, if Dean went to sleep right now, he could get it back. Like he would slip right back into the dream, and it would pick up where it left off. But Dean doesn’t even want to, now that he can see that world for what it is: a cheap hallucination, poking at all his weaknesses, going right for the soft underbelly Dean never shows.
All that work. All that work Dean had done over the past few weeks, trying to numb himself and act like he’d forgotten about it. And now it feels like the Empty took Cas all of five minutes ago, all over again.
Or,
A post-15x19, forty one year-old Dean gets a taste of what twenty seven year-old Dean went through in 2x20, “What Is and What Should Never Be,” and sees how the shape of his own happiness has changed. Then life goes on, same as it ever was—except for the dreams he starts having at all hours of the day, and a familiar voice that's starting to sound a little too real.
Commentary: You don't have to go to far into this blog to know I'm a sucker for finale fix-its. It's my favorite trope! This story has everything I look for - Dean and Sam having conversations, hunting, Dean being really sad, Empty rescue, getting together and a soft little epilogue. Seems simple, and it is - we don't need huge stories to have huge feelings.
This story is so well written, so nice! As the summary says, we start in a Djinn dreams, which is super well written and makes sense with the show's lore. Dean notices something is weird, but is so happy with the life he is living and the Djinn is so strong that he wants it to be real. In the dream, he realizes he can't deny what he feels for Castiel - Dean is in love with him.
The we go on to follow Sam and Dean for a bit, and Dean is so so tired. That's when weird things start happening and there's hope they'll get to see Cas again.
Everything here happens for a reason. The Djinn dream isn't here just so Dean could think about Cas, but also has a huge role in the rescue plot. The author did such a great job with tying up this story!
The expansion of Djinn and Empty lore is amazingly done.
Very well written, in character and made with care and love.

At the breakfast table, Jack enthuses about the special limited edition Christmas version of that cookie cereal he always eats—which, as far as Dean can tell, is the exact same as the regular version, only with red and green sprinkles substituting the usual brown specks that represent chocolate chips, and it costs a few cents extra.
Jack’s head pops up as he looks Dean right in the eye and says, blithely, mouth full of cereal, “It’s Christmas Eve.”
Dean frowns. “No it ain’t.”
Sam shoots Dean a look of pure pity. “Yeah, Dean, it is.”

Set 15x20 didn’t happen AU. In his speech Cas said that he wanted something he couldn’t have. Dean didn’t know why, but was willing to go along with it despite telling Cas he loves him too once they get him back. Now they’ve agreed to try and help each other get over their feelings. Until the other bunker inhabitants smooth out the misunderstanding.

Cas looks at him like his heart is breaking. “You prayed my name to every angel in Heaven for six days straight.”

It’s dark outside, but she can see the stars. Castiel, angel of God, is kissing her son.
They’re leaned up against the Impala, Dean’s back to the door. He has Dean’s face cradled reverently in his hands, and Dean is crying. Dean has his arms wrapped around Castiel’s shoulders, underneath his arms, as if he’s trying to pull him in as close as possible. He’s rubbing his thumbs distractedly against Castiel’s neck, while Castiel runs his hands all over his face, occasionally wiping away tears that trail down his cheeks. They pull apart and breathe in and she sees, rather than hears, Dean sigh soul-achingly deep. Castiel strokes his thumbs gently underneath Dean’s eyes where tear stains have gathered. Dean laughs, the sound watery, and they press their foreheads together. He turns his face inward, his eyelashes brushing Castiel’s cheek. His arms cling tighter and Castiel rubs the tip of his nose gently against the side of Dean’s.

But the thing is, as he gets closer, he has to blink his eyes to make sure he’s seeing things right. Because that’s definitely Jimmy’s body slumped over against the trunk of one of the apple trees, but floating above him is- well, it’s a floating light, a sphere with a one-foot diameter, just hanging out at Dean’s chest level. Dean approaches it carefully with a furrowed brow and half-raised hackles.
“Cas?” Dean prompts slowly. “Is that-”
And the orb is glowing out sweet and white like it could easily be used to keep away the dark in a child’s nursery. It’s so welcoming. Like Dean could just reach out, out, and catch that gentleness in his hands without any sort of consequence.
“Hello, Dean,” the orb hums.

Dean sits back in his chair, drinking his coffee and watching Castiel. After a few moments, he realizes that the soft, mellow feeling in his chest is… contentment. He's not happy in the way that a little kid is happy at their birthday party, or even in the way that he is when Cas or Sam has been miraculously brought back to life after one of the long string of disasters in their lives. He's happy in a new and different way. And has been, maybe, for a while now. Nearly as long as Cas has been living here, human, in the bunker.
And then Dean Winchester has a moment of absolute clarity.

Dean barely talks since Cas died. Even once they save him, it's too damn hard. In which fucked up coping styles leave both Cas and Dean convinced the other doesn't really love them. Cas thinks Dean is offering to sleep with him out of the goodness of his heart, or so Cas won't leave. Dean is trying to be less of a dick and ends up crying all the time. Cas just wants Dean to let him be the big spoon. They get to heal and be in love.

I reporposed my spidersona from 2018 into an OC for my own original superhero comic.
Originally, she was spiderglass, with a mechanical suit to shoot silicone based webbing and glass shards. Now, she's Walangwati (Javanese for 'grasshopper-ess'), who was bitten by a possessed spider (Indonesia has more supernatural stuff than sci fi).
She still has superhuman jumping and climbing, alongside strength proportional to a grasshopper's size. She's also super good at digesting plants cuz grasshoppers can eat cellulose better but ANYWAY... She's here. She's queer. She lacks fear. She has a crush on her universe's Batwoman.

[A package and a card arrives, with a slight hint of the warm Celestial magic Amari has still lingering on it. Inside, there was a golden charm, likely meant to be attached to a bag or zipper. It seems be the source of the magic. There is also a cute plush jackalope with a red bow tied to its neck. The card attached says:
Hey Mels, sorry this came in a bit late but I managed to get you a few gifts. Oh, and just to let you know, there’s a protective talisman I made for you, meant to help give a little extra protection from magic. Nothing too crazy but it should take the edge off of most curses and such should something like befall you. All you have to do is keep it with you.

There's waaaaaay too many to cover in a single post. A sizable chunk of them can be seen through @thespidersweb, which is sort of the public face of a very large spidersona discord server. You can find an invite in the pinned message of that one.
I myself don't do spidersonas per se, I have an AU Peter Parker and a few other one-off spidery characters. Some of my friends have spidersonas, though, and they have in-character blogs like @ask-crimson-weaver, @ask-anarky, @ask-the-goldengate-spider, and @ask-spiderglass. Among others. I highly recommend looking at all of them!
