A Good Man | Introduction. Part 1

Pairing: Finan x Ealdorman's Daughter!Reader

Summary: An Ealdorman who struggles to control his youngest strong-willed daughter y/n is taken on as a lady-in-waiting to Lady Aethelflaed in the hopes she will learn what it means to be a dutiful noblewoman leading her to meet the charming Finan. (Set post S3 onwards.)

Authors Notes: Fictional Ealdorman and Brother named after some random 9th century names i came across when doing the old research thing. Some creative liberties have been taken. Planning this to be a series, length hasn't been determined yet.

As there was little going on at the beginning of summer in Coccham Finan had decided to join Uhtred and Osferth on a short trip to Saltwic he claimed was to spend time with his daughter Stiorra who had been placed there, but was more than likely to also see Lady Aethelflaed. He was starting to regret this decision as he sat bored in the elegantly decorated estate listening to an Ealdorman pleading with the Lady to help him convince his daughter she cannot keep refusing a betrothal.

He came to her as she was a mother in a higher position of power and as he had recently lost his wife he was concerned with his daughters future and didn’t want to force her hand too harshly.

“I cannot think of any other solution than to send her to a nunnery an-”

“Is this something your daughter has expressed an interest in?”

“No not quite, when I told her she is to be betrothed she threatened to disgrace the family by uh, well, she said she would take herself to a, uh, whorehouse and let...I fear the rest of the language she used must of been picked up from her brother, my Lady.”

Leaning into Osferth with his brows raised in confusion Finan whispered,

Finan crossed his arms over his chest and fiddled with the cross hanging from his neck staring out of a nearby window watching the leaves blow in the light summer breeze waiting to see the identity of an apparently unruly noble girl.

“What will you do?” Uhtred quietly asked Aethelflaed

“I’ve watched her grow these past few years when she’s been brought to Aeglesburgh, she is very much her mothers daughter, intelligent and strong-willed, not easily shaken by men of power and isn’t fond of my husband either.”

“You already have a plan for her?” Uhtred followed up, she only responded with a knowing smile.

Finan instinctively directed his attention to the large wooden doors as they opened revealing a young woman walking beside, not behind the Lord Aelfric. Your head was held high in confidence with the front parts of your long hair pulled back in intricate braids keeping it away from your face as you approached Aethelflaed, barely acknowledging the presence of the three other men in the room.

You were beautiful in a modest long lilac tunic worn over a white full sleeved dress and he instantly understood the fear on your fathers face when he spoke of you threatening a life in a brothel, you’d certainly be popular.

“I’ve been informed you have refused to be betrothed Lady y/n, why?”

“My lady, it is an unsuitable match. The man is the same age if not older than my father and if the rumours of him mistreating his previous two wives are anything to go by I do not wish to be forced into an unhappy marriage that I am unlikely to survive.” Your voice was kind but strong as you continued.

“I know my father deems me disobedient and foolish but he has no reason to seek me a marriage based solely on his own ambitions as an Ealdorman, my brother is a commander in the Mercian Fyrd and has already produced multiple heirs for succession, and as for my sisters they were both pushed into political marriages that have not been kind to them, I do not want to share their fate.”

“And what is that you do wish?”

“To be wed to a good man. Preferably one more age appropriate.”

“Your want for love is childlike y/n.” The lord chided

“I have never spoken of love or implied that I would not honour my duty of being a faithful wife I know that is not a luxury I can have, I simply ask to be treated with respect and kindness especially if I am to be used as a pawn in the ambitions of men and their politics.” Your tone was harsher with your father, this was clearly an argument you’d had with him many times over.

Finan found himself nodding lightly internally agreeing with your reasons and commended your bravery for speaking out, he didn’t always understand why no care or thought was given to who these men would marry their daughters off too past the weight of their purses and amount of land owned.

“Your father is suggesting the life of a nun, but I can give you a place here by my side as a lady-in-waiting. It would mean you travelling with me to Aeglesburgh and to the court of Wessex and other such places, this means you would have a chance to meet noblemen in a monitored environment and help me to make a suitable betrothal when the time arises.” Aethelflaed offered

“You?” Lord Aelfric’s tone garnered a stern face from Uhtred

“Yes Lord Aelfric, as a lady-in-waiting y/n would be under my care as a member of my house, she will receive her own retainer too so would no longer need your financial support either.”

The lord shifted his weight onto his other foot glancing between his daughter and Aethelflaed weighing up the options, if she were to go to a nunnery it could spark rumours of disgrace and negatively impact his families reputation but her being present in court would do the opposite. He sighed with a shake of his head.

“Well I suppose she would be in the right place to learn a thing or two about obedience and duty. I will allow it, if that is what you choose y/n?”

This was the only moment of doubt Finan witnessed in you, dropping your head ever so slightly as your thumb rubbed against your forefinger.

“Think she’ll go for it?” Finan whispered to Osferth

“Be foolish not to, unless she wants to be a nun?” The monk responded

Clearing your throat and readjusting your posture you spoke again

“Thank you, Lady Aethelflaed. I would very much like to join you here.”

“Then the matter is settled, you can see your father out and I’ll have Sable arrange a room for you.”

“I’m sorry” His voice was soft, and the look in his eyes showed it to be a sincere apology.

“It’s quite alright, I cannot say that I loved him as a wife would or should but he was a friend.”

“We were there at Bedanford, it was brutal but not one man backed down. He would of fought bravely.” He reassured you

“Thank you Finan.” You sat there holding a prolonged gaze with the man beside you and all the noise in the room seemed to fade away, a tension began to creep on you before snapping away and all the noise flooded back in hearing Stiorra laughing on the other side of the table at something Osferth had said to her.

You finished a second cup of ale before saying goodnight and heading to your room. As you stood in the small space illuminated by a single candle you undressed and got into your sleepwear lost in thought, you had always been aware there was a cold and distant atmosphere between the Lady Aethelflaed and her husband. Tonight you had witnessed how comfortably close she was with Uhtred but didn’t think any less of her if she was indeed sharing her bed with another man, you were secretly relieved at their bond if meant you could enjoy the company of Finan once more.

He was charming and seemed to be genuine, he spoke fondly of his time spent with his friends on their many adventures but hadn’t once mentioned a wife or lover and you couldn’t help the giddy feeling in the pit of your stomach.

Finan was sharing quarters with Osferth and he found himself thinking of the way you had smiled at him with a light pink tint decorating your cheeks and the scent of lavender that emitted from you every time you had moved, he wondered if it was from your hair or skin.

“You need to be careful Finan, she’s the daughter of an Ealdorman. She isn’t for the likes of us.” Osferth spoke out quietly into the dark room, almost as if he could hear his thoughts.

“What are you talkin’ about?” He kept his tone confused, feigning ignorance.

“You know what I’m talking about.”

Osferth was right, you weren’t for the likes of him. He wasn’t a nobleman, he didn’t have a title or lands or even wealth. He thought perhaps he was just being pulled in by the attention of a beautiful woman and it would fade away just as quickly as it had appeared.

When morning came around and he found you already sat having breakfast he opted to sit on the opposite side of the table thinking some distance would help ease the way his heart skipped a little when you had greeted him. He was wrong, he had to fight the urge to keep looking at you and could feel the gaze of Osferth beside him just watching.

You were relaxed taking your time with breakfast observing the way Finan sat staring at his plate occasionally flicking his eyes to you then to the monk at his side. Osferth shifted in his seat looking between you, Finan and his own plate causing you to suppress a giggle at the awkwardness, the silence in the room was getting too much.

“How did you both sleep?” You asked just to hear something

“Good yeah, thank you“ “Very well, thank you Lady“ they both spoke at once which was probably your fault for not directing the question at just one of them.

“How’s your new quarters?” Finan asked keeping his eyes downcast avoiding you and Osferth.

“Quite pleasant thank you. I have a window overlooking the herb garden, it’s much nicer than my previous view.”

No one responded and the room fell back into an uncomfortable silence, you rubbed your thumb against your finger willing someone to say anything when Aethelflaed entered the room.

“Good morning.” She chimed taking a seat and assessing the mood of the small group and dismissed it speaking again “Y/n, we’re leaving for Coccham today and will stay a night or two before heading onto Winchester.”

“Two ladies gracing Coccham with their presence at the same time? Lucky us.” Finan smiled looking between all of you. You barely caught the look that Osferth shot Finan trying to tame your own smile.

Ohmygod, new S3 clip?! So many thoughts!

It's 'two months to graduation' - so that's April-ish, right? Probably returning from Easter holidays?

And no one's seen Wilhelm since the Jubilee. Are they going to mess about a bit with the timeline and claim the Jubilee was later than February, or did the Royal Court really pull Wilhelm out of school for two whole months?

And if they DID...ouch. Poor Simon. Left alone at Hillerska with no Wille, no Sara, having to deal with all the gossip and eyes on him without anyone on his side? God I hope Felice reached out to him at least...

And wow, speaking of Felice, she does not look in a good place, does she? Heartbroken over Sara seems most likely but is there something else going on? That's a very pointed look Maddie is giving her over her not eating...

(Also as an aside, if you read TVMicroscope (and I do), then viewing Stella and Fredricka as Wilmon's mirror characters adds another dimension to the scene. Fredricka - Wilhelm's mirror - thinks him coming back to school is huge and is full of questions about what this means for him and Simon, are they a real couple now. Simon's mirror Stella is oddly quiet and not saying anything at all. Interesting...)

Wilhelm's outfit is very interesting as well though - much more casual than anything we've seen before and a pink jumper, a colour we've never seen before. A sign things are already very different?

I cannot wait for S3, can March hurry up already!

The last ep of s3 aired and ahhhhhh.

Despite moving around the order of events for the post-harvest festival stuff they made it work and blended these two chapters perfectly (p. much exactly how I figured they would when I realized which two were going to be adapted).

Once again, I am reminded how much I love that this series just came out and went ‘hey actually, it’s totally normal and healthy to have secrets and NOT tell friends every little thing about yourself. you are allowed to have a private life’

which like. i’ve made known before my disdain for the whole ‘friends find out some secret/personal thing another friend kept from them and get mad/act betrayed and the secret keeper is made into the one in the wrong’ type trope (it’s like, a subset of the ‘liar revealed’ trope, which I don’t have an issue with really). Cause like, people are allowed to have private lives??? and not divulge every little thing about themselves to someone even if they are a friend??

and I doubly hate it when the exposed secret is something they kept under wraps b/c revealing it (or revealing it earlier) could have resulting in being shunned/outcast/hurt/killed etc... and they had no idea how their friend group would react to this information.

and in this case, Iruma has TWO different things to worry about happening. 1) they might abandon him cause he’s not a demon and he’s been lying to them

2) they might EAT HIM cause he is, you know, human.

and like, even if he knows deep down that logically neither of these would happen, at the same time, there IS that risk and does he want to take it? So being told ‘hey you don’t have to do this thing that’s clearly making you uncomfortable.’ is like. huge. and such a breath of fresh air.

esp since the convo does come back around later down the line (except it’s Iruma parroting it and even admitting ‘hey i do have secrets too’. and I love it.

Most importantly however, SOI! The end of ep teaser/next season hook was exactly the scene I predicted/hoped for, even down to the line ‘he’s right there’ and revealing Soi. I’ve been saying since b4 s3 happened that that would be the perfect place to end and the perfect hook to use.

I cannot WAIT for the Music Festival. I wanna see my boy! I wanna hear him SPEAK! I love him so much. little gremlin son.

I had a full-on existential crisis today. I saw an author was writing for Babylon 5 and realized the year the show aired was 1994. THIS SHOW IS 30 YEARS OLD AND I REMEMBER WATCHING IT AS A TEEN.

I legit am channeling Jamie Lee Curtis from Freaky Friday right now. Which is also a dated as fuck reference only 20% of the people in my TL might get. Because again, I'm older than the fucking cryptkeeper.

I STG I will stop making 90's references at some point.

Anyways, speaking of the 90's. I've been continuing to watch Due South during slow shifts at work and while the show has some very cringe moments at times, there's nothing quite like the quirky 90's "Let's randomly have our male lead crossdress for a case"

But the reason this show manages to not step COMPLETELY over the line into insufferable no-homo territory is Fraser is actually making arguments for how it's perfectly normal for men to dress up in women's clothes in the great white north. Something, I cannot confirm because wtf does my southern fried ass know about First Nations culture in the Northwest Territories?

But yeah, he's completely okay with it, his masculinity isn't impugned and fuck I love this show. It's so weird and ridiculous at times and I love it so much. I adore that we genuinely don't get an answer on whether or not Fraser is just straight-up crazy imagining his father's ghost or if he's being haunted. Cause first two seasons has Veccihio ALSO getting haunted by the ghost of Christmas past of his father.

And Fraser Sr gets haunted by HIS mother's ghost and I cannot fucking make this shit up. The writers were on something in the 90's and I love them for it.

I'm soooo close to S3 and Kowalski coming in. Gods I love baby face Callum Keith Rennie and his ridiculous frosted hair. I cannot wait for his relationship with Fraser and how it's different from Ray V.

I also really want to rewatch B5 now as well. So that might be what I watch next.

raw unbridled thoughts because I just saw the KNY movie and I am!!! full of emotions!!!

spoilers galore though so read at your own risk, i know it's not released in US theaters yet but in case you want a "little" preview, here it is !!

MAN!!!!!! i would have paid 12 euros just to see a remake of the last two entertainement district episodes in 4k, but man did I get my money's worth :')

it all started with a quick recap of the first seasons, with Gurenge and Homura as BGM, so the hype was already off the charts. I didn't dare sing along but I mouthed the lyrics and man was it good to hear it all with the images on the big screen ;w;

speaking of sound design though, my cinema's speakers weren't optimal, it felt like the music was coming only from the front and some of the noises were horribly loud. Remember when Gyutaro breaks Tanjiro's fingers? MAN. Overall, the musical experience was wayyyy better at home with headphones, but at least the visuals more than made up for it.

I won't go too much into detail over episodes 10/11, because the screening was pretty much identical to the regular episodes. The end of episode 10 still hits super hard, the sudden quietness and the billowing smoke... simply mindblowing on a large screen. We even had opening and ending credits, which made this very different from the Mugen Train experience, but the audience needed time to breathe haha

Uzui's battle against Gyutaro was really made to be viewed like this. You have a much better sense of all the details ufotable put into the whole thing when you're watching on such a large screen.

alright alright i gotta move on to the most exciting part. The actual opening of S3 played at the very end, so the transition towards the next arc was opened by none other than Gotou, finding the squad all passed out in the rubble. Man do I love this guy, he really feels like the "normal dude that the 20-something audience will root for" trope.

The upper moon meeting was... both mindblowing and somewhat overwhelming. There were lots of flashing effects and very insistent transitions, with (in my opinion) too many visual effects that bloated the scenes without really adding too much to them. I now that ufotable is probably just flexing their skills because this was MADE for cinemas, but still, it felt a little 'too much' to my taste. But then I'm easily overwhelmed by flashing things, so that's surely just a matter of personal preference.

The insistent transitions aside, that scene was just amazing. The inifity castle is an amazing place that reminded me a LOT of that scene towards the end of Interstellar. Muzan's science equipment looked very REAL, I bet that ufotable has been using real life footage to put it together.

And now... I can't really avoid talking about him, can I? Douma. I despise this character with everything I have and I even more despise the way the fandom treats him... and man I'm in for a ride. Curse you Miyano Mamoru. How DARE you be so GOOD at your job??? He's really THE most outstanding cast in the whole series in my humble opinion. I was already in love with the VA for his previous roles (Dazai from BSD!! Rintarou from Steins;Gate!!) and he's bringing the perfect vibe to Douma, I can already feel the fandom misinterpreting him more :') I absolutely cannot wait for his performance in the Infinity Castle. It'll be amazing.

May I also say : thank you Akaza. He had me cheering out loud in my seat when he chopped half of Douma's face off (and immediately got scolded for it like a naughty boy by Dad Kokushibo lmao). Thank you, Akaza. I'd almost forgive you for making Rengoku donuts ;(

I don't have much more to say about the rest of the Upper Moons because they hardly left a impression on me when I read the manga. Their voices are a pretty good fit, and I don't doubt that ufotable will make them shine.

The dream sequence was short but very well done. Alas I must shorten my speech too because I'm so excited to get to the next part.

Cue Gotou walking around with a very tasty looking Castella. Thanks ufotable now I wish I'd bought popcorn. He's funny as always, the way he gets mad at Kanao for not telling anything is even funnier animated, and the apparition of ghost Aoi just the same

And now... ladies and gentlemen and nonbinary folks... it's time... for HIM....

THE CEILING BOAR.....

He definitely got the loudest laugh from the audience out of the whole movie. I feel so proud :') The way he's clinging to the ceiling is just too hilarious, with Tanjirou's like "so Inosuke on the ceiling..." coming before we actually see him, which had the laughter really explode. The comedic timing is absolutely perfect. I cannot wait to make 414630316 giftsets from this scene when the season is released.

Matsuoka really nailed the "SO YOU NOTICED ME, TANPACHIROU!!!" I'd been picturing it in my head for so long and it was exactly as I thought it'd sound like. The book about the honey badger was actually in english, I can't wait to see what else it says when we get a longer look. Inosuke looked like he had no idea what was going on, and Aoi telling him to get off the bed was just perfect. The way she clung to him when Kanao spoke up... *chef's kiss*.

I cannot wait to make a transparent edit of the ceiling boar so it can become my icon on every website forever haha

I have to be honest and say I paid a little less attention afterwards :') i was on a little cloud thanks to the ceiling boar. Though we got to meet some adorable kakushi, the scene of them dancing amongst the crows was really neat. Big up to the Kakushi for all their hard work!

Our good bois go off to work (and Zenitsu destroys the fourth wall by fawning over... Aoi, who yells at him through the shreds of the fourth wall haha), and that's it, that's all we're gonna see of Inosuke and Zenitsu this season ::')))))) hahahaha..... i am not upset at all.....

And then... well, there's some fanservice (and I'm not even talking about the bath scene). An unusual amount of it for KNY. A very very BLERGH from me. Even the audience seemed a little unconfortable. It's nothing harmful, it's just a little dumb and out of place.

The swordsmith village feels a little underwhelming in terms of design and general aesthetic, but it's no wonder when it's coming after the mesmerizing entertainment district. I'm definitely gonna miss the ambience of it all, though ufotable will probably impress me anyways.

Genya's here and he's pissed as always. I cannot unhear the Bakugo in him. Put your teeth back where they belong, boy.

Mitsuri is very wholesome though!!! I'm trying my hardest to cling to her as my favorite character this season (with lil' Kotetsu!! a baby!!). Ufotable, you better treat her well. I am BEGGING you.

aaand I think that's it from me. The hype did not disappoint. As a big fan of Inosuke and Zenitsu, I'm going into this arc without much to expect, as it's by far my least favorite in the series anyway. Still, Ufotable is going to do an awesome job, the characters might grow on me, the voice actors will be mindblowing, the music will be amazing, and well... I cannot wait for what will come next :3c

Do you think he meant it when he told Grisha that this is payback for the Royal Family and the King's inaction and choice to sit idly and sacrifice his own people for the crimes they did not commit calling it "atonement", or did he just manipulate Grisha and knew that it's wrong to hold accountable children and kill and them just so they don't interfere and inherit the founder, starting the eldian genocide and the cycle of children eating their parents all over again?

To be honest, the royal family could be borderline saintly, or worse than Willy Tybur himself and Eren probably wouldnt have changed anything, they were in his way and he needed the founder. (That being said were the royal family actually benevolent the circumstances that led Eren to do what he did never would have come to, but i digress).

I think what Eren did was justified, the royal family had completely forsaken the citizens of paradis many, many times. They had forsaken them when the walls went up and their memories were wiped, they continuously did so when they left the people in the dark, and lied to them. They did it again when they allowed the government to install a puppet monarch which directly led to the sort of corruption we saw in season three that nesrly got Erwin executed, that got Armin's parents killed for trying to escape the walls. The royal family were also not prepared for the eventuality of the Marleyan Invasion of Paradis.

Killing the children, while brutal, was a smart decision. Eren had nearly to a decade to wait between the slaughter and the rumbling, if those children were allowed to grow up with that vendetta against the Jaegars, well, there could be a similar and equally harsh group that rival the Jaegarists by s4. I mean, imagine seeing the son of the man who killed your whole family use your titan for his own gain, youre not gonna sit there and take it.

Not to mention, Eren needed Rod Reiss to do what he did in season 3 where he was in season 3 (i.e. the kidnapping, taking historia and eren to the catacombs, etc. Etc.) And Reiss cannot do that if he still has children to fight for and care for. The children are, as harsh as it sounds, a distraction from Eren's final plan. He needed to be in those catacombs, he needed the Rod Reiss titan, he needed all those secrets to be shown so Historia could be queen and all the other domino effects from it. That mid-s3 arc is in my opinion a rather low point for the show, save for the kenny parts, i found it to be a bit of a slog, but it is undoubtedly one of, if not the, most critical points in the story for what happened in season 4.

Eren was willing to do anything he had to to secure a happyife for Mikasa, Armin, and to a lesser extent Jean and Connie, and I would even go as far as to say Sasha too even if he wasnt capable of it, who knows, maybe there was no future where all 5 made it out, maybe eren really didnt have all that much control in the first place. He said what he had to to anyone he had to in order to achieve that goal and really we can't take anything eren says between the kiss on historias hand and the finale at face value (save maybe for that conversation with armin that he made armin forget).

It's also important to note that its only due to the combined power of the founder and attack titans that eren could speak to grisha in the past and therefore doing exactly what he did might be the only way to have the titans, in laymans, had eren not killed the children, he might not have gotten the titan to tell grisha to kill the children in the first place.

the worst part is them going “she’s not even a second choice she’s a third choice” bc he called lily. and i know they’re going to be even more annoying this season saying it if ricky possibly has something going on with lily at the beginning of s3 that he’s probably going to end in the same episode. like how was ricky suppose to “choose” her when they stopped talking and she never made herself a choice in the first place. him breaking up with nini was not suddenly going to put him into overdrive thinking about how he needs to go for gina. gina wasn’t even talking to him and lily put herself out there. s3 is the season of realizations and feelings he’s kept within him for gina for him.

but yeah i completely agree. gina cut him off during s2 (and don't get me wrong, she was completely within her rights to do so) but the fact is that she did it !! there's a reason why it's so important that rina actually become friends again and it's because it's pretty clear (narratively speaking) that they aren't at the moment. gina shut down and ricky couldn't reach her. lily reached out first, made herself vulnerable to ricky, and as a result he was able to see past her mean girl facade (ick). of course, he doesn't know that she stole their harness so i imagine that could definitely blow up in her face at some point. idk. but the point is that ricky has never had the opportunity to really face what gina means to him and how he feels about her!! gina has never been second or third or fourth or last choice because she has never been a choice in the first place.

ANYWAY this is obviously going to come to a head in s3. rina are (most likely) playing love interests. they're going to be spending a lot of one on one time together. ricky is officially letting go of the past - and this time there's a real sense of finality to it (hence 'finally free'). anon you put it perfectly: for ricky, it's the season of realisations.

okay! natsume dub thoughts now that s1 has finished airing:

this is a mess and i love it.

i have no clue what the dub director was doing. this is a shitshow.

i cannot hate it because it is natsume and it is still entertaining but. *gestures at it*

i will never take this dub seriously and it will be the subject of my mocking for years to come probably

ALSO can they PLEASE release a full cast list i want to know who is voicing who. we only know the vas that appear in episode one 😭

okay individual va thoughts:

natsume: i didn’t like this va for him at first but he’s come a long way over the course of s1 and i’m looking forward to seeing his performance over the next five seasons and hopefully the movies too. overall i think he did a good job!! but this will always be yuki from tsuritama’s voice. i literally cannot stop thinking abt yuki from tsuritama when he speaks.

baby natsume: i think this va did a good job but there’s not many baby natsume scenes in s1… s4 is the real test with the childhood home arc.

nyanko-sensei: my absolute favourite casting choice. that is nyanko-sensei/master kitty cat. i also loved his progression over the course of this season there is a clear difference in performance between episode 1 and episode 13

cat girl nyanko-sensei: she barely appeared but i like her voice

reiko: same as above. i think her va fit her well.

nishimura: barely appeared but i think he did a good job

kitamoto: same as above.

sasada: i love her va it is perfect for her.

touko: i’m sorry i really wanted to like this casting choice 😭 i know her va was excited for this role but it’s so. i have no clue what directions she was given she started out okay then progressed to the fakest old lady voice i’ve ever heard and then in episode 13 it was a more believable old lady voice but i hated it more. but i’m trying to be nice. 😭

shigeru: he barely appeared 😭 but i like his va more than touko’s

tanuma: LEAST FAVOURITE i literally hate it so much that is not my friend tanuma kaname. that is a completely different person and i’m so mad. it is so entertaining though. but i’m so mad. i laugh every time he speaks. it is so bad.

natori: i Love this voice it sounds like an off-brand j michael tatum and it’s so funny. it’s exactly what i have been joking about for years when talking abt a hypothetical english dub. i am so happy with this. it’s so entertaining. his deliveries are really off but again. it is so entertaining to me.

hiiragi: hiiragi my BELOVED i love her voice. i can’t wait for her to appear in later episodes the moon-splitting festival arc will be so fun.

urihime: had like. two lines. she was fine 😭

sasago: same as above. i probably won’t be able to judge either of their performances until s6 takuma arc gets dubbed.

fox child: technically a recurring character and i love his voice. it’s so cute. excited to see him again in s3 :)

hinoe: yes!!!! she sounds so obnoxious and i love it

misuzu: his voice fits but i have no other opinions

the midrank youkai: they’re fine but they will never be the japanese vas.
