I feel like you would know so I'm coming to ask you. I saw someone on twitter say that sterek had like four scenes together during the show and fandom blew it out of proportion. I haven't watched the show but just got the impression they interacted a lot. When I saw that, it made me wonder if that person is just a salty stydia fan who is downplaying sterek, or if it's true and sterek is actually the destiel of TW.

Oh, they are most definitely a bitter styd*a (or some other ship) stan lol. Altogether, Stiles and Derek have over an hour's worth of scenes together, so let's start there. Second of all, I'll be honest and say that when I first watched TW, I thought Sterek was another case of "two white men breathe the same air and are suddenly in love" type of fandom brain, but then I watched it again and a switch completely flipped in my brain. I get why people say Sterek is taken out of proportion because it's truly one of those things where you either get it (hot) or you don't (not hot), but there is actual foundation for the ship in the source material, especially the pool scene but if I get started on that, I'll throw up. Third, I hate Destiel with a passion so reading those words did actually make my eyes bleed, but what I will say is that I'm pretty sure Sterek is the second or third most popular ship on AO3 and is still growing, despite the show having been over since, like, 2017/2018 and in spite of JD killing off Derek a few days ago in the movie. So. Do with that what you will, babes.
