(Disclaimer: This is Scion Hanzo which means him before he killed Genji or tried. So that is where we are at with him. Hanzo is not yandere in canon. This is just for fun and not to be taken seriously at all. Simping for fictional characters and yanderes is fine, do not be gross or illegal about it! (No One's POV)

Hanzo had been getting rid of someone in the woods. They put up a hell of a fight, and he overdid it. Now he is lightheaded and dehydrated. The sun is beating down on his torn suit. He supports himself against a tree, and then everything turns black.

When Hanzo wakes up, he sees the most stunning woman leaning over him with a damp cloth, Gently pressing it against his face. She smiles at him, and he swears he is in heaven.

"Thank God you are okay. Do you want some water?" She asks him, and his eyes widen.

This woman is his soulmate. He thought he would never find her. "It's you, my soulmate." He says, looking at her and awe and desire, With the smallest hint of obsession.

He sits up and takes her in a kiss. She gasps into the kiss. This is rather sudden. She had given up hope that she would ever meet her soulmate, and now he was kissing her. She does not know what to do… What does she do? She always dreamt of this day. Now here it is, and she is frozen in place.

"Mine~," Hanzo says, pulling away and resting her forehead against hers.

She looks into his eyes and sees the obsession. Fuck, she is so screwed.

(Hanzo's POV)

I thought I would never meet her, I had given up hope, but she was here. She is right in front of me. The first moment I saw her, I thought she was an angel. And she is an Angel, My Angel, my soulmate, mine. She is all mine, and I am never letting her go. I will take her back home, where we will get married and have the perfect life. I will make sure of it.

Genji:

When he first saw you he kinda was scared shitless. I mean, can you blame him? But he was also kinda intrigued by you, mostly by your wings.

He loves the way you look tho. You have that perfect balance of mystery and grace that makes you so pretty. He knows you have a handsome face even without seeing it.

When he saw you fight for the first time, he was in awe. Your moves were so fast yet graceful and after you would just walk around like nothing happened.

He loves messing with you sometimes, like poking the blackness of your face. Although if it actually does annoy you he'll stop.

He strives to break down that silent and serious facade you put up. But he only wants you to show that side to him, no one else. Ngl he's kinda possessive of you-

When you do finally feel comfortable enough to show your face to him, he decides he should do the same thing as well. So you both take off your hood/visor for the first time since you started dating.

Safe to say he was not disappointed. You were even more beautiful than he imagined, and he kinda just stared up at you in awe for a long time. When you poked his face, he finally snapped out of it and was kind of embarrassed. That entire time he was contemplating whether he should kiss you.

You guys are actually able to cuddle and it isn't uncomfortable bc your human side matches his, plus he likes the coldness of the metal on his cheek.

When y'all are alone, he can be quite clingy. He's very touch deprived, but so are you so it's a win-win. He's always holding your right hand with his left so that you guys can feel each other's skin and for once feel like you're humans again.

Soba loves you (kinda like a dog tbh-), which in the Shimada clan is an omen that you've found your soulmate. So now you're stuck with him. Not that you're complaining. She will often leave Genji and wrap around your neck loosely while smooshing her snoot into your cheek or shoulder, asking for attention (which you noticed Genji also does when he wants attention).

Hanzo is a bit iffy about you and how you're 3 years older than his little brother, but after finding out you were related to Mercy, he relaxed a bit. He thinks you're chill and likes hanging around you. But he tends not to bc he knows Genji can get jealous easily.

Kiriko really likes you. Y'all are like this🤞 It honestly makes Genji jealous with how close you guys are. You guys often rant to each other about some random topic, and by both, I mean Kiriko is the only one who rants while you just listen.

Mercy is happy for you both. She knows what your parents did and just wants you to be happy. She does keep her eye on Genji tho, she wants to make sure he doesn't break your robotic heart.

Consider: soulmate au with Subscorp where one eye is the color of your soulmates. Before he lost Harumi and Satoshi, Hanzo was just very confused because who has a white frosted over (is that how to word Kuai's eyes?) left eye at times and it is so confusing to him.

Likewise, Kuai Liang is very confused one day when his right eye goes from a shade of brown to a complete shade of white over his entire eye. Even Bi-Han is weirded out, a couple months before the tournament happens.

ooooo thats an interesting idea

Like, Hanzo has never met a cryomancer before, so the fact that sometimes his eye is an amber rather than his own obsidian (I hc that both Hanzo and Harumi have Really dark eyes) and other times its the pale white of a corpse is very confusing to him.

For Kuai Liang, he has no idea why one iris is now black (The Lin Kuei do not teach them about soulmates and even tho Bi-Han kinda remembers thats what their parents were, he doesn't know enough about it to explain) only that he's terrified of the Lin Kuei finding out so he keeps his eyes iced up constantly from then on

And then they meet and Hanzo refuses to acknowledge it and Kuai Laing can't help but be curious, even if he's pushing it down and they can't quite bring themselves to kill each other, no matter what, they always stop just shy of doing it.

And then they make the alliance and since they're friends now Kuai Liang figures he can finally ask, it takes a few weeks for him to work up the courage but when he does Hanzo is taken aback, he doesn't understand how Kuai Liang could ever not know what it meant. He thought that was why Kuai Liang called the initial meeting, to talk about the fact that they were soulmates.

So Hanzo ends up having to explain to him what a soulmate is and Kuai Liang, who has lost everyone he has ever loved in the most brutal way possible, runs for the hills, terrified of bringing that fate down upon Hanzo simply bc of a bond he doesn't understand.

They still have alliance meetings, but Kuai Liang is more closed off and Hanzo makes it his mission to get Kuai Liang to laugh, or smile, or hell even get angry so long as it's not that blank fucking mask all the time.

I'd bet that eventually Kuai Liang relaxes a little, unable to stop himself from getting closer to Hanzo and hey if they pyromancer is kinda immortal, what's the harm, right? And then before he knows it he's fallen in love and he's terrified all over again so he starts looking for ways to sever the bond, which Hanzo eventually discovers and (having fallen in love with Kuai Liang years b4 the cryomancer did) Is heartbroken.

Cue the two staying apart and getting sick bc of bond rejection (I know that trope isn't everyone's thing but I love it, especially when its a mutual thing) so Frost and Takeda force them to talk it out, leading to confessions, kisses and happy endings.

TLDR we need more soulmate aus in this fandom

Kuai Liang/Subzero

Five years ago, you met your soulmate. Kuai Liang, The Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.

You love him so much and he loves you too, Since today is Valentine’s day, you decided to make a surprise for him. You went to the kitchen, Preparing to make a red heart-shaped cake for him.

You have all the ingredients you want, you put the ingredients all together and stirred them, then after a while, the cake is ready.

After Kuai finished the training session, he went to his room. That you both share, at first he was surprised to sniff a beautiful scent, rose petals on the ground. He sees you wearing a beautiful medium-length pink dress with hearts on it.

“Y/n.. you look beautiful!” He said to you.

“Really? Thank you! Love~” you replied,

He smiles at you, he had saw the room, and the beautiful decorations you had put in it, the big cake you had put on a table, tea, and valentine's plates and letters.

“Oh! It is valentine's day!!” He muttered, giving himself a light facepalm,

You saw that he hid something behind him, and he walks to you while smiling at you.

“Here is your gift my love~” he whispers lovingly,

Every person in the world knows that you belong to Hanzo, No one dares to lay a hand on you knowing that Hanzo is still alive. Hanzo made it perfectly clear that you are his, you belong to him and no one will touch you, or they would pay the price.

Hanzo knows you from when you were a nurse in the sky temple, that time when he was recovering from being a slave of Quan chi, you were there to help him recover and forget the pain in his soul and in his heart.

No one had ever been nice to him, knowing that he once was the infamous Scorpion, Slave of Quan Chi, But you decided to help him, lot of nurses and people told you to stay away from him for your sake, for your own good.

But you defied them all, and decided to help him despite everything, he was a ruined man, broken to the core, and he needed help at that time. And you were there to help him.

You fully remembered his reaction when you first met him, he was aggressive at first, but, in time he becomes soft towards you, you saw the knowing looks he gave, since, you are the only female who is kind to help him.

*Present time*

“Koibito~ I love you~,” Hanzo said to you

“I love you too~ Koibito~” you replied while playing with your hair.

He didn’t know of the surprise that you are preparing for him, he is indeed in for a surprise.

Hanzo is holding the teacup, as he was pondering your beauty, he always asks himself what he did to deserve a beauty like you. He is just happy with you, he is over the moon as they say.

“I want you to come in the room, you know~” you muttered, as you winked at him.

“Okay!” He uttered,

You hurriedly walk to your room, preparing the surprise, clutching the Valentine confetti cannon. 🎉

As soon as Hanzo’s leg steps into the room, you shot the confetti, alerting him and he holds the sword.

“Koibito! Relax! It is just confetti!” You joked with him

“Koibito! You scared me!” He yelped,

“Sorry, Koibito~” you apologized,

“No.. it is okay! Let us enjoy Valentine's day~” he replied,

“You are right,” you chuckled,

Then both of you kissed, enjoying your Valentine's day. 💘💝💌🍰

Takeda Takahashi

Never in your life that you thought you are going to celebrate Valentine’s day with your soulmate, Someone like Takeda. You love him, you love everything about him. You know everything about him.

You know that he had been raised in a clan called the Shirai Ryu, and he has some sort of a Ninja lifestyle. You pretty much know everything about him. That’s why you love him!

You decided, that you wanted to surprise him with chocolate heart-shaped sweets! He loves chocolate and you decided that you will make chocolates for him!

You went into the kitchen, melted chocolate in a bowl, then you grabbed a heart-shaped mold added the melted chocolate to it, then, you went to put the mold in the fridge.

After an hour, you cut open the red velvet lid to sprinkle the chocolate you made with it, you also decorated the chocolate with a white chocolate drizzle. After that, you put the chocolate you made into a lovely heart-shaped box.

You went to Takeda into the S.F HQ. You saw him with his friends, Cassie, Jacqui, and Jin.

You boldly walk to them, in the middle of his talking, you gently tapped on his shoulder with your finger.

“Hey Tak~ Happy Valentin’s day!” You greeted then gave him the chocolate box.

“Hey! Y/N!” He greeted back,” Oh. You didn’t have to but thank you for the treat!!” Takeda thanked you, with the known smile and look he gives you.

Takeda took a bite of the chocolate and he was over the moon, he was enjoying every bite of the chocolate you made it. He kept eating piece by piece. By the looks of it, you know he loves the gift you gave him.

“I’m glad that you liked it! I’m going now bye!” You said, then left

You left his friend speechless, they were also speechless by Takeda's reaction, they thought he was just overreacting because he didn’t want to embarrass you, but it seems he likes the chocolate you made!

Kung Lao

Everyone thought that Kung Lao would never get a soulmate! But you appear and silence them all. No one had ever thought of this, Usually, Kung Lao is the laughingstock of MK, But with you, they respect him and love him, because you inspire them to respect him as well.

You are his powerful Soulmate, you are a powerful sword-woman, and you defeated all of Kung Lao’s friends even Liu Kang. With you, Kung Lao has some sense of peace and agency. Since you are very strong and bold in everything you do.

SATOSHI IN THE NEW ERA

inspired by @running-with-the-feels and @laismoura-art. Fuck NRS for not letting their own mascot be happy. @theelderhazelnut @bloody-arty-myths @starneko123

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE SHIRAI RYU IN THIS VERSION FIRST....

In the new era, the Shirai Ryu is mostly composed of pyromancers and plant magic users as opposed to the Lin Kuei, but their origins on how they came to be are different: the founder was a pyromancer himself and couldn't handle the cold environment, also got homesickness, so the Lin Kuei grandmaster assigned him to start a japan branch but then founder got shipwrecked and met a bunch of plant magic users, who have a redeemed Cetrion as their patron goddess. The island is her blessing towards them.

The matriarch of the plant magic users was the one to become grandmaster, as the founder see her as deemed worthy of the role when she was participating in the Mortal Kombat tournament.

The Shirai Ryu takes on the same role as the Lin Kuei but the difference is they deal with a bunch of external threats towards Earthrealm while internal threats are dealt with by the Lin Kuei. Both clans are on civil and friendly terms. (This may explain Harumi's connection to Outworld and the Umgadi)

NOW BACK ON THE SUBJECT!

There was no massacre that took place, just Hanzo and Harumi living a happy life with their beloved son. As I said, fuck NRS.

Hanzo wasn't a pyromancer after becoming Scorpion, it was by birth, and this goes the same toward Harumi as she's one of the best plant magic users within her clan. Oh, not to mention she's the official grandmistress.

Satoshi was born on October 11, making him a Libra.

In his early years, there were many marks that looked like scars and injuries that made Satoshi look like he grew up in a terrible household much to his parents' concern, they went to see the doctors but it was always concluded that Satoshi was perfectly healthy overall, no serious skin condition going on whatsoever.

Then a psychic came over to the village, they told them that Satoshi has a soulmate, and there was bad energy surrounding those marks because whoever was predestined to meet him must've grown up in a not so pleasant home life. They told his parents that their son must simply wait for his soulmate as that person would eventually find him, assuming around his teenage years.

By the time he was 5, the marks appeared less frequently, then for two months where it kept popping up left and right. Satoshi also had a really vivid nightmare of a village being destroyed with its residents being killed in the most gruesome ways possible, which was very alarming for his parents and that was a time where security measures had to be held up because they assumed it meant something wrong was about to happen to the clan.

Satoshi grew a habit of making up stories about the random scars that appear in his body, thinking they were from other different lives, from the past to the far future. Even his playmates get on the fun. This is because he didn't understand this whole soulmate ordeal at the time until much later in life when his parents sat down with him that day.

Is childhood besties with Takeda, as Kenshi settled down in the Shirai Ryu after freeing his own clan from the yazuka and marrying the love of his life, Suchin. They were practically raised like brothers growing up and liked to push each other's limits to ensure they grew up to be great warriors. Takeda loved being a big brother figure towards Satoshi as they were both only children with no siblings whatsoever.

His favorite pastime was gathering plants in the island's wide variety of otherworldly plants, he lets his parents cook the plants he's gotten during dinner. It even stayed after his childhood.

Another one was catching bugs with his dad, his favorite being those butterflies. He also learned how to paint and was a gifted artist like his mother.

Got a HUGE FNAF phase around when he was like 7-9 years old, his favorite animatronic would be Bonnie (blame @laismoura-art, those headcanons with Bi-han are truly hilarious) and shipped him with Freddy before he even knew shipping meant.

Inherited his father's facial features and resting grumpy face, though that resting face becomes more prominent once he was 11 years. It was also when he started to take on grandmaster training as per the clan's tradition.

He eventually started to learn how to hunt to practice his assassin skills, helping other villagers and members as a way to connect with them. He's now often seen practicing in the Fire Gardens or in the courtyard.

He also took on babysitting duty as well and eventually became like a protective and loving older brother towards the little fellas, he started becoming good with kids at this point too.

Satoshi didn't know about Zhenbing, the son of Bi-Han & Sareena until he began his grandmaster training despite knowing Zhenbing's parents personally due to monthly annual meetings between the Shirai Ryu & Lin Kuei, because he was often sent to Kenshi's home to be babysat while the meetings took place. They bonded over the fact they went through a FNAF phase albeit Zhenbing happened to him pretty early (sometime around 6-7) and the high expectations, pressures that comes with being both future grandmasters.

When he first met Zhenbing's adoptive older sister, Frost, she was responsible for Satoshi's bisexual awakening and had a brief crush for only two months. Currently he's a pansexual in denial.

He started to experience a growth spurt once he was 12 years old, and was 6'0" by the time he hit 13, his current age. (My boy would've been freaking in the NBA with the height I gave him at this point 💀)

He's also gotten more intimidating looking in terms of appearance due to the grumpy resting face that he has, but don't worry, he's a sweetheart but is really omniverted at best.

Whenever he wants to wind down and relax or wants some alone time, he goes to this huge lake with a pretty waterfall hidden within a forest only he knows and even plans to show his soulmate this place once he's trusted and got to know them more. He usually paints or plays with the small animals that come and stop by.

When an Ainu elder joined the clan, he got to get more connected to his heritage since while his father was afraid to pass on the traditions to his wife and son yet due to being disowned after joining the Shirai Ryu, so he takes that opportunity for a nice father-son bonding, since he too wants to take pride in his heritage as well and let his father join on a journey in learning about themselves. This was a core memory during Satoshi's teenage years (I loved the 'Hanzo being Ainu' headcanon from that one anon sent to @running-with-the-feels)

He enjoys reading those old choose your adventure books he'd find in those bookshops as well with some nature books, he's a huge fan of horror and fantasy novels as well.

His music taste consists of 90's japanese hip-hop, along with some from its western counterpart, along with indie rap. He listens to artists like Joey Valence & Brae, MC Hammer, Kid N' Play, and Salt N' Pepa

As Satoshi is now a teenager and now understands the whole soulmate ordeal that he has, he starts to wonder what his soulmate would be like in person, other than being such a reckless idiot as marks resembling external injuries tend to pop up often. He often says to himself 'Oh what they've done now??' or 'Here we go again...', yet beyond those scars, he wishes to meet them but alas, a psychic told his parents that he must wait. For now.......

For Hanzo the days seemed to drag on, his job wasn’t the most exciting but he wouldn’t dare to verbally complain. Every so often though, he was given a… task per say.

Sometimes it was different arrows, maybe break up a couple or two. Still shooting out love arrow just different types, romantic, platonic and familial are some of the most common types.

And today was nothing special, no extra arrows for anybody. His list of targets shortened quickly, until there was one. You.

Pulling back his arrow, pausing the shot when he caught sight of you. There was something about you, attractive sure. But you seemed perfect in his eyes.

But he knew you had your own love, and it wasn’t him. Reluctantly shooting the arrow, about to move on when he took a glance back. Nothing.

Nothing had changed, which was rare but all he needed was another shot. So he did it, waiting for some sort of reaction to it. But you gave him nothing. Maybe it was the wrong order?

But then again there was no one else on the list, so surely not. Plus he never did his job wrong. Another look at the list showed something new, a small yet noticeable drawing of one of his arrows.

Now seeing it had him remember something. There was an old story told when he first became cupid, one passed on from his predecessors. The story was about previous cupids and how they finally found their soulmate.

Also marking the end of their life as cupid. When the fates decided it was time for a new cupid to take their place they would send them after their soulmate, letting them figure out the connection.

And when the connection is made there are two choices to be made, only if the Fates allowed the choice. Cupid can either head down to become a mortal, spending their life with them. Or they can have the soulmate ascend.

He wanted to spend eternity with you, but he also couldn’t bear to pull you away from your life down below. So soon enough his choice was made, he would come down to be with you.

Explaining his choice to the Fates, who spoke in hushed tones. Seemingly allowing this change, as the previous few had brought their soulmate up. Having his mentor see him off in private.

“Cupid-”

“Hanzo.”

“Well Hanzo, I hope you remember this moment.” In a reply he nodded, allowing him to do what was needed. He would definitely remember this moment, when he felt the connection, and hopefully you did too.

After playing MK1 what bugs me the most about the Kuai as Scorpion thing is that it feels like instead of giving Kuai his own unique story they just copy pasted him into Scorpion's role?

As if Scorpion is its own archetype and not inherently connected to Hanzo Hasashi.

Which feeds into the general sense of Hanzo erasure. Yeah he's still there...but as a kid (who was starving and orphaned???). While his previous timeline bestie runs his previous timeline clan and marries his every other timeline wife...

Even Harumi is copy/pasted to a degree? Like finding and falling in love with your soulmate in every timeline is romantic af and if it was Harumi/Hanzo id be foaming at the mouth in a good way. But when its not actually your soulmate its another guy (Kuai) unwittingly cosplaying your soulmate for reasons???

Idk man that feels weird to me, cheap almost.

Week 1 Recs: One Shot, One Kill

The Week 1 Fic Rec Friday theme was "One Shot, One Kill," or fics that clock in under 10,000 words. Here are all the bite-sized fics recommended by the Yeehan community, organized by rating, then alphabetically by title.

General Audience

Hanzo can't help himself in developing feelings for Jesse McCree, but that doesn't mean he has to share them. With his sins, he is better off alone but still he can't help but want him. It should be fine as long as he just never says anything. Unfortunately his dragons have different ideas and keep trying to lay claim on the cowboy. Mostly McCree is just confused.
