okay so i’ve already answered this but i said that it was red or pink so i’m gonna force myself to pick one right here right now…… and i think i’m actually gonna go with red?? which feels rogue to me bc like half the things i own are pink, i definitely own a lot more pink things than red things…. although actually. hm. i do also own lots of red things…. but i just bought today at the charity shop these pink linen trousers which i’m excited about for the summer bc i’ve never before owned like any pink bottoms whereas i’ve had these red trousers for years that i love…. anyway that was an irrelevant digression. i think right at this very moment my fave colour is red…. i’ve also been considering dyeing my hair red again… my life’s mission has been to find the perfect kinda cherry red dye and i think the way to go might be to have darker hair underneath it bc when i was blonde red dye was always literally just neon red so now i have my darker brown hair i think i might be able to achieve perfection bc the last time i did red like over the summer my hair was much lighter than this… another irrelevant digression i’m so sorry i’m just yapping now i’m in such a talkative mood aaaaaaaaaaaa the answer is red. i think. but i also love pink. but the answer is red.

roasting the season three wedding outfits

during my ranking of every dress that rikki wears on h2o i had an epiphany: everyone at sam and don’s wedding in season three looks like crap. i would even go so far as to say that sam was the only person to look good at her own wedding. this post will mostly consist of me being petty and pointing fingers at the costume design team for squandering the opportunity to style their mains for a wedding, offering alternatives to the, ahem, choices that were made when dressing cleo, rikki, and bella. i tried to keep my selections consistent with early 2010s fashion while also in keeping with the personal style of each girl

cleo’s salmon dress

cleo’s fit is not the worst offender in this category by any means. however given how drop dead gorgeous phoebe tonkin is, it’s a pity that she pissed off the costume team enough sometime prior to this episode that they chose to enact revenge on by putting her in this… whatever this is. lewis’s lovestruck expression as she walks down the stairs never fails to amuse me during rewatches. the dress is ill-fitting, sitting way too low on the bust, shapeless, and poorly styled in general; what is up with the hairdo which is more mako mermaids than mature, sophisticated young adult? seriously, no eighteen year old would be caught dead with their hair styled in such a distinctly juvenile fashion. this critique also extends to the dress itself which suits teenage kim more than her elder sister. i’m not saying that cleo should have shown more skin or worn six inch heels, but something a little more grown up wouldn’t have gone amiss. i’m not mad at the salmon pink against cleo’s colouring, but the costume team have long since established greens and purples as cleo’s soul colours. this is not to say that she shouldn’t be allowed to wear any other colour. still i would have killed to see her in some jewel tones like either one of these choices:

coral pink monstrosity aside, cleo would slay in something like the purple dress with lace and ruffle detailing pictured above. it plays into her penchant for 70s boho and would absolutely suit the beachy vibe of the wedding. a simple updo and strategic accessories would really elevate the look (plus it comes in teal green too if that’s more your thing!). alternatively she would also rock this peacock green, grecian-inspired number. it suits the understated simplicity of cleo’s style, and would play up her pretty green eyes too. next!

rikki’s royal blue dress

i won’t spend a ton of time on this one since i thoroughly eviscerated it back in my ranking all of rikki’s dresses post. the tl;dr is that the colour and shape are unflattering, and even season three rikki would absolutely refuse to wear a dress with a giant bow on the front. i offered some edgier seafoam green alternatives for rikki in the aforementioned post, but our girl has a number of absolutely iconic red dresses throughout the series so i thought i’d style her in something similar this time ‘round:

above left is an obvious callback to season one’s red dress; the ruffle feature at the bodice is almost an inverse of the detailing at the hem of its predecessor. the dress isn’t too overly ostentatious, but the traffic-stopping red just screams rikki. my other choice, a hi-lo one-shoulder dress with, you guessed it, ruffle detailing, is also inspired by the iconic season one red dress. it has just enough edge to be rikki-approved but is still feminine and elegant. last and possibly least is...

bella’s black and white dress

i once said that rikki’s blue dress was my villain origin story. at the time i was joking, but this might actually be true of bella’s dress. bella, baby, i’m so sorry they did you like this. there is just… nothing redeeming about this look whatsoever, from the weird earrings and weirder bangle to the skirt which belongs on a toddler’s dress to the pattern that belongs on that of a much older woman. while the others look quite juvenile, bella’s look is simultaneously giving immaturity AND fifty-year-old art teacher who shops exclusively at desigual. why is it so difficult to style teenagers in an age-appropriate fashion? also, wearing a white dress to another woman’s wedding is nothing short of sacrilege, even if said said dress isn’t fully white. i will say that the fit is slightly better than rikki and cleo’s dresses. still this entire look is a letdown given that bella wears some of the best dresses in h2o canon. she’s my least fave mermaid but girl does rule in the style stakes. furthermore, indiana evans is such a beauty that she could pull off almost anything, but this just ain’t it, chief. my picks are:

bella wears a number of blue dresses in the series, and the aqua blue dress above is nothing short of striking. she loves a strapless moment and the silhouette is pretty too. however it’s mostly the colour that sells me on this dress for bella. aquamarine would match her eyes and crystal necklace, as well as complement her complexion beautifully. my other selection is a chiffon maxi dress in bright coral orange, a colour that we don’t see bella in much of but which would suit her perfectly nonetheless. it’s both beach wedding- and age-appropriate too!

(weird tourist traps like giant balls of yarn etc, small town main street stores, cool looking restaurants, nature sites, Actual Destinations, so on n so forth!)

ohhh I love tht idea!! road trip fics/hcs are one of my weaknesses,,

but um!! I rly like the idea of th four of them going camping a few hours up north!! (we... don't rly know where. SAW is set so just. imagine a vaguely rural campground lmao. I'm used to camping in th upper peninsula of MI so) it's smth tht Art did a lot w his family when he was growing up, so he's th most familiar w it - Eric went a few times as a kid too, Mallick went Once, n Adam has never rly been camping, w his family or otherwise (he's slept on a trampoline at one of his friends' houses once tho). Art is p excited abt it tbh, it's not exactly smth he gets 2 do often so he's got this whole list planned of things he wants 2 show them!!

it's easiest 2 just take a week in late August, bc they can head back home on a Friday n have the weekend to settle n readjust b4 th coming week + they have to go back 2 work. so they head out around ten on a Monday morning 2 kind of get ahead of th traffic (or at least try to). Art drives both bc he insists and bc he knows they can switch if he needs to, which he does later w Eric. it's a good couple hours (at least 3) b4 they get 2 th campground Art wants to take them to, so clearly it is Music Time + Adam made sure 2 bring CDs! a lot of that time is just spent vibing 2 th music and singing very, very loudly (ESP on Adam + Mallick's end). Art's up front like u three are so fucking goofy (affectionate), but eventually he starts singing too lmao.

Mallick starts th Colour Game, where they try 2 find a car fr every colour of th rainbow. it's smth Eric is familiar w as well bc he used 2 play it w Daniel sometimes, and it's good until they come to purple bc how often do u see purple cars??? so Adam's just like "we're not gonna find pink either" n tht's when this fucking pink pickup truck (noticeably spray-painted, + not done well) passes them n Adam just groans n thumps his head against th window. Mallick is like, trying rly hard not to laugh by pressing a hand over his mouth + Art is biting his lip, but Eric is very openly cackling bc "u see what happens when u assume???" (he gets a very light slap 2 th shoulder but it's still very gentle)

ANYWAY. favourite snacks!! Adam can eat Way Too Many Sour Patch Kids. sour anything, actually, as long as it's candy. yes his tongue hurts and no he doesn't regret it. Eric just gets goldfish bc he tends 2 get a lil carsick + bc it's a food tht's familiar n comforting, n he doesn't rly want 2 be eating anything Too heavy (he's up front w Art, so he can sit by a window in case he needs some fresh air at any point). Mallick likes m&m's, but he switches fr cheez-its every once in a while bc he can only eat so much chocolate. Art likes those peanut-butter filled pretzel bites! he's also partial 2 animal crackers tho. they also bring a good amount of snacks/things they can b sure th four of them like, bc yeah there's a lil store abt a half hour away frm their campsite + they can go there to pick up things if they need 2, but it's easier 2 bring things they like, too. (there's also a mcdonald's in tht town n. they do go there at LEAST twice.)

th campsite they stay at has a lake + a beach, n one of Art + Adam's fave things 2 do is walk along it to see if they can find anything interesting! Mallick goes sometimes too, but mostly he stays w Eric bc Eric can't do tht fr as long as Adam + Art can (not tht he's resentful of it tho). he n Mallick chill on th beach w a blanket (it's kind of like. not necessarily sandy?) n just kinda sit against/lay on each other n read sometimes. Adam + Art come back 2 where they're set up to find them sleeping n Adam has never been more thankful he thought 2 bring his camera!!

on th second day Art + Mallick want 2 go swimming, so th four of them come back out to th beach, but Adam stays out of th water + Eric stays w him. they both know th water will be cold, even if it's late summer, n Adam rly doesn't like being in cold water ESP if it's over his head/he can't touch th bottom. fr Eric th cold can b kind of painful, so they chill n walk along th beach fr a little bit n just talk. Adam gets some good pictures n even gets some of Eric! he also does take a selfie of them, he can't help it. he gets a couple of Mallick + Art too. it's honestly such a nice thing fr them n it just feels like they can breathe easy, not having 2 worry abt looking over their shoulders constantly (tho they're all getting better abt that).

th third day they spend around th campsite to kind of unwind n relax. they might walk th beach a little bit again, but mostly they just sorta chill n walk some of th trails around the campground itself. when night falls they light a small bonfire (Mallick is still iffy around fire, understandably) n they sit around it in their folding chairs w th cupholders (Adam gets red, Eric has green, Art gets blue, + Mallick gets dark green) n make s'mores. they talk abt anything n everything until they're barely able 2 keep their eyes open, n then after making sure th fire is pretty much out they kinda just stumble into th tent n none of them r awake for very long after (they specifically got one tht cld comfortably hold th four of them).

fourth day!! they pack up n head into another little town about 45 minutes away; it's bigger than th one around th campgrounds. after they get situated in a motel room w two beds, they do some window shopping + going into lil stores that interest them! Adam def buys some niche graphic tees tht aren't going 2 make sense to anyone other than th four of them n he's delighted abt it. I like 2 think Eric gets a worry stone, specifically made out of rose quartz. Mallick too, but his is made of amethyst! he also gets a rly cool multicoloured jacket in a thrift store they duck into. Art gets a hoodie w th town's name on it n he's pretty happy w that. they get a few more lil things, just little knick-knacks while they're there, n then they have dinner in this lil diner they'd walked past earlier bc it's inexpensive + the atmosphere is very lowkey n honestly just Nice. there's not a bunch of ppl, the servers r rly kind n the lights aren't too bright, which Eric rly appreciates. it's such a tender moment bc they're squeezed into a booth, Adam + Mallick on one side n Art + Eric on th other, n they're talking n laughing n stealing bites of each other's food n it's Comfortable.

then they head back to th motel n channel surf while unpacking enough 2 get to their sleep clothes. Adam + Eric r sharing a bed n Art + Mallick r sharing th other one, tho Adam is very tempted 2 just push them together so they're all close by (th distance btwn th beds isn't tht big to begin with, but it's the principle of th thing). mostly tho, until they go to bed, they're pretty much just all stretched out Everywhere. Adam is only discouraged frm jumping across th divide btwn th beds bc Art breaks out his Lawyer Voice, despite trying rly hard not to laugh, to say Yr Going To Hurt Yrself, Don't Do That. he grumbles n whines abt it but Adam knows he's right jdhjks (th way he sees it is like. he can b silly sometimes. he's Earned It, but he also trusts Art + wasn't super serious abt tht idea). eventually tho Eric can hardly keep his eyes open n Mallick is just straight up asleep while he's still sitting up so tht's when they all go to bed after making sure every1 is comfortable. they leave a lamp on.

fifth day they pack everything up again n stop 2 walk th trails of this lil park b4 they head home! there's a lil shop near th parking lot so they spend a lil bit of time looking around in there first. they probably pick up a few lil things, souvenirs, n Adam walks around 2 get some pictures. he gets this rly cool one while they're on a bridge, th sun peeking thru the clouds a lil bit n shining down on th water. he's super excited to develop tht one (but he's excited to develop All of them, bc this is his family!!!) + he n Art discuss whether or not they're gonna need another cork board lol. eventually tho they round back to th parking lot n on th way home, they stop at another lil hole-in-th-wall kind of place, but it's just as nice as the first one they'd been to. after tht Eric switches spots w Art n he drives them home!!

they're all exhausted when they get back but they have room to crash w each other while they nap so tht's what they do. they fall asleep all tangled together, Art stretched out w Eric's head on his chest, Adam curled against Eric's back, n Mallick w his head on Art's stomach. there r arms n legs everywhere n tht is okay. they're happy. they love each other. they had a lot of fun on their trip n they're tired, but they're comfortable!! tht's what it's all abt!!! it's just such a good n relaxing experience fr them after all th shit they've been thru.

4. Do you like your name? Why?

When I was younger no, I didn’t think it was as nice as other names and it’s an unusual name where I live. But I remember the lunch ladies at school would always say it was beautiful and it made me like it more. Now that I’m older I’m just grateful I wasn’t named something hard to pronounce like a lot of people from my country are XD 

10. How would you describe your style?

Uhhhh, comfy? XD I like to feel comfortable in my clothes because that makes me more confident to wear them. The older I get the more colourful I seem to buy XD I went from all black to oranges and greens and reds and I think it’s a good development. That doesn’t mean I don’t own ripped black skinny jeans but I like to be more open to other things now haha.

23. Describe your dream date

Well it has to have food lolol. I would like maybe to go to a coffee shop/bakery kind of place just to keep the atmosphere cozy and comfy and we get to talk to eachother and learn more about one another over nice food/ drinks. I would also love a picnic for the same exact reasons, I love parks and nature so it would be nice ^.^ 

36. Fave Movie

See I’m not really a movie person but one movie that never fails to make me tear up is Big Hero 6 LOL. Sorry I only like happier movies cuz I can’t handle horror or stuff that’s too sad. I also love Dead Poets Society because it was something I watched in High School and it’s one of those movies that really hit me and I can’t forget about it.

“Who is that guy down by the hotel?” Tracey asks me, while hanging her head out of my apartment window. 

I shrug, “One of the security guards. He always stands in front.” 

“He’s hot!” she exclaims. She isn’t wrong though, that guy is eye candy. But me being my shy and awkward self, I never have the guts to ask him out. Or even talk to him to be honest.

I hum in agreement and continue cleaning. Tracey should be helping me, but instead she’s starting at the guard. “You still gonna help me or what?” I ask, laughing a bit. 

She turns to me and laughs, “Yeah, sorry. You never told me about him though.”

“There’s nothing to tell, really. He’s just one of the guards down there, I bet he’s never even noticed me.

But boy was I wrong. Behind my knowledge, the guy always tries to contact me in some way, I just never look down at the right moment.

The rest of the afternoon goes by in an instant and in the meantime Tracey went home. Trace is the best friend a person could wish for, but she can also be a lot. Like this afternoon, she wouldn’t stop talking about a guard from the hotel. Sometimes she should let things rest, especially my love life. That’s something I don’t really like to talk about. Unfortunately it’s something Tracey can’t stop talking about..

Suddenly there’s a scream outside my window. My curiosity get’s the best of me and I decide to take a look. 

A woman is screaming like her life depends on it, screaming to the guard, who is standing there with his hands in the air with an expression on his face which tells me he has absolutely no idea what’s going on. 

“Please, call down ma’am. Easy.. Yeah, calm down.” I hear him say. Wow, he has a deep voice.

He succeeds in calming the woman and talks a bit more with her, but since I’m two floors above them and they’re talking quietly, I can’t hear it anymore. Before she goes inside the hotel she says a quick ‘sorry’ and ‘thank you’ to the guard. 

I am about to leave the windowsill, when he looks up and winks. I immediately feel myself going red, but decide to play it cool. “Thought you were a simple security guard, didn’t expect you to be some kind of psychologist.”

He laughs, “You don’t even know me. I might possess some very good abilities you’re not aware of.”

“That is very true.” I said while pointing a finger at him in agreement. 

I am about to turn again, when for the second time the guy grabs my attention. “We could change that though.” he says and smirks at me.

I feel myself going red again, but hide it nonetheless. “Sure, mr Security Guard, we could.”

I keep the ‘hard to get’ act, I’m not even sure if the guy is serious.

“Eddie,” he says and I give him a confused look.

“My name is Eddie.”

I make an ‘o’ with my mouth in realisation. I stay quiet for a bit, just thinking about his name. I did expect something.. rougher? But now that I think of it, Eddie suits him fairly well.

“You’re not gonna tell me your name?” his voice snaps me back to reality. 

I laugh awkwardly, “Yeah, sorry. It’s (Y/N)”

Eddie smiles, “That’s a beautiful name for a beautiful lady.” he adds with a wink. 

This time I'm sure he notices me turning into a tomato shade of red, ‘cause he starts laughing.

I decide to try and find out if it makes him feel the same when I compliment him like that, “Well,you certainly don’t look so bad yourself, Eddie. If I’m really honest, I’ve never seen such a good looking security guard.” I say in a playful tone, trying to make it seem like I’m not nervous as hell, and wink at him.

My compliment gets him in the same state, ‘cause he looks away and I see a slightly red face from behind his hand. 

“Good night, Eddie.” I add and laugh.

He turns his face back, “You going already?” he nervously says, with a hint of disappointment.

I nod and he pouts which makes me laugh even harder. 

“Well, good night then, (Y/N). I’ll see you tomorrow.” he winks, he’s turned back into his confident self.

“Sure, honey.” I say and close the window.

the next day I head out to go to the mall, but when I’m on my way I see that they’re redoing the road, so I’ve gotta go through the street in the back side of the apartment building. Which is, funny enough, the street where the hotel is.

As I walk through the street, I don’t even realise I could walk into Eddie. Luckily, his shift hasn’t started yet. 

The visit to the mall lasts longer than expected and when I leave it’s already dark outside. I remember to go through the back street, but completely forget about Eddie.

“You’re even shorter up close.” a voice tells me, which causes me to look up at the man standing a few feet away from me. 

I was so busy thinking about what I could eat for dinner, since I forgot to buy that, that I didn’t notice anything around me in the real world.

“Eddie, you’re even more handsome up close.” I say with a grin.

His face turns pale, but soon enough it has the colour of a tomato again. He probably didn’t see me for such a flirt. I never was the type to flirt, actually. But with him it was so easy, also because he did it as well.

He smirks, “I just wanted to say the same to you, but you took the words from my mouth..”

His mood switch from speechless to confident makes me chuckle, “I’m also handsome, you say?”

Eddie realises what he’s said and brushes it off, “Woman, you know what I meant.”

I nod and laugh with him. “That uniform is sexy, though.” I say before moving forward.

“I know I’m sexy. There’s just something missing: a beautiful and sexy lady, like yourself, by my side.” 

I don’t even turn around to see he’s smirking. I laugh and earn a snigger from Eddie.

Before the ice cream in my bag melts, I walk back to my apartment and put everything where it should be. 

I take my regular seat on the windowsill and call the pizzeria to order a pizza. I wait in front of my window, secretly looking if Eddie’s still there, but he isn’t. I assume he’s either gone home or is on a break. 

The pizza arrives and I put on some music before eating it. It’s pretty hot inside, since it’s the summer season, so I open my window and to my surprise Eddie is back at his post. 

“Oh Juliet, you’re back! I have missed you so dearly!” Eddie says, well screams actually. With a very bad accent. 

His accent alone makes me burst out into laughter, “My dear Romeo, I have only been away to order some pizza.”

Eddie gives me a look of betrayal, “You’ve got pizza?!”. 

I nod while shoving a piece of pizza in my mouth. “Mhmmm, Peperoni Pizza, still my fave!” I say and he pouts. 

“I want pizza! How come I work here all night and I have to live with a regular cheese sandwich and you get to be home all day and eat pizza?” 

The fact that he’s talking like a child makes me almost choke on my pizza. This guy is hilarious and he isn’t even trying to be.

“Can you catch?” I ask.

“Course I can catch, why?” he says, puzzled.

Before he knows what’s going on, I throw a slice carefully his way. His reflexes are good and he catches the slice.

“My dear god, you nearly gave me a heart attack. But you made up for it with this slice, so we’re all good.” 

We both finish our slice of pizza and talk a bit more after that, but soon Eddie’s shift is over and he heads home. 

The days go by and Eddie and I see and speak to each other on a daily basis. Every day the same flirty comments. I honestly feel a connection with him, but I’m just too shy to act upon my feelings. I’ve built this wall of confidence and flirting helps me, but actually opening up to him about my feelings could ruin this thing we’ve got going and I don’t want that to happen.

It’s another day of grocery shopping and ever since my first real encounter with Eddie, I always take the back street. 

“There is my handsome Romeo, again.” I say when I walk up to him after I’ve done the groceries. 

Something about Eddie is off, though. He doesn’t reply immediately and his face isn’t flirty as usual, but serious. “Something wrong?” I ask and he looks up. Beforehand he was staring at the ground.

This is the first time I realise his eyes are as blue as the ocean and it’s the most beautiful colour I’ve ever seen.

He nods, “I guess. There’s just a thought in my head. It’s been there for a while and I don’t know what to do with it.” he explains.

“Why don’t you tell me? Maybe I can help..” I try, I’ve never really seen him so serious and I don’t know this side of him at all. I have no idea what he expects me to do.

He smiles shyly and looks away, “I was thinking of asking you out, on a proper date. Just the two of u, without a street and a wall separating us, eating something more formal than just pizza.” 

When he’s done talking his gaze meets mine again and his face lights up immediately. Probably due to the fact that I’ve got the biggest smile on my face. “I’d love that, Eddie. Really. I’ve been thinking about it myself as well, actually. But I was just too scared and shy to ask you out. So thank you for asking me out.” 

He steps closer and hugs me carefully. Before releasing me completely he pecks my cheek. “I’m glad you think so. Shall I come by your apartment tomorrow? I can take you out then.”

I nod with a slight pink colour in my cheeks, “I’ll see you tomorrow, then.”

“Tomorrow it is, my Juliet.”

“Until tomorrow, dear Romeo.”

1. Outdoors or indoors? Indoors.  Maybe if mosquitoes weren’t a thing, or if bugs respected personal space in general my answer would be different. But as things are, it’s gonna have to be indoors.

3. Do you have any pet peeves?  YES.  Know-it-alls, pretentiousness, being Too Cool™ for something... stuff like that.

5. How would you describe your fashion sense?  Meaningful. Strategic.  I dress to make a point, as the situation demands.  I like to think I get my message across, but who knows?

6. If you could dye your hair any colour right now what would you choose? ...purple.  Ok no, probably some sort of gradient of colours, or maybe a pastel rainbow... idk.  So many possibilities (sorry I had to XD)

7. What is your fave tv show/anime? Favourites are hard because I either love something or hate it or am ambivalent, so I have lots of favourites.  Let’s just say Vikings because Lagatha is my queen and I love her.

8. Lipstick or lipgloss? (Or neither lol) Chapstick.  I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, my poor lips are always chapped despite the amount of chapstick I slather on them.  My poor lips don’t deserve this!!!  When I wear lipstick tho (which is not often, I wear lipstain with chapstick on top the most), I always put a bit of lipgloss on my bottom lip (as my nextdoor neighbour/makeup guru-sensei has taught me lol).

9. Fave clothes shop?  I’m one of those people that doesn’t shop unless I have to get something specific, in which case I basically go store-to-store until I find what I want. So this questions is n/a for me.

10. What country were you born in? The Great White North of course!

11. How was ur day? Really good! My bro is visiting for Thanksgiving, and we spent the day doing our fav things.  So it was nice!

1. Describe your favorite color without naming it.  It’s the colour in my name.  Is that too obvious?  How about... You get it from mixing red with blue.  Too logical?  Too bad.  I was gonna try something poetic but it’s bed time so the ol’ brain is not at optimum function.

2. Lazy summer heat or cozy cold winters?  Normally I would go with cold, but last winter was too cold and I am not ready for this one.  Plus I had a nice summer.  So summer heat wins today (who am I and what have I done with me?)

3. Two countries you would love to visit?  You know, I’m not sure. I know which ones I’d like to go back to.  But if I had to choose, ummm... Japan and Ireland.

4. Ninjas or pirates?  Ninja.  Always ninja.  My dream as a little girl was to be a ninja.  Pirates are cool but I don’t like fish and while the ocean is beautiful it’s not worth the lack of showers and clean teeth.

5. What two super powers would you choose to have?  Time-travel and teleportation.  Or maybe shape-shifting.  Dimension hopping? Is that a thing? That would be cool.  But 100% time-travel is what I want.

6. Would you rather have a pet bird or a pet iguana?  Iguana.  While I love birds, and I’d love to have a parrot or a raven or a crow, I feel like keeping one in a cage is very cruel.  They should be able to fly.  Now, if it was a pet bird that stayed outside but was my bff, then bird 100%.

7. Mittens or gloves?  Gloves.  I hate not being able to use all my fingers lol.  The limit to my dexterity is not worth the extra warmth.  Plus I think gloves look better in general.

8. What’s the first television you can remember watching as a child? Uhh... like tv show? Probably Sesame Street, but I didn’t like it.  So Barney (was my jam).  I mean... a big, purple dinosaur vs a big yellow bird... I think this has effected my life in ways I am only just realizing...  But the show that I have vivid memories of is the Power Rangers, and after that, Pokemon, though I was def older at the time. If we’re talling actual TV all I know is that it was black and square and probably a Panasonic since my dad was obsessed.

9. If the world ended who would you want to share your last days with?  I’m debating between wanting to spend it with my fam, and wanting to spend it alone lol.  Idk.  Maybe a bit of both?  Ask me at the end of the world.

10. Name something you would love to learn how to do. I’d love to learn Sign Language.  A friend and I are planning on taking lessons soon.  I’m excited!!!

♥ i used to be super loud when i was younger. sometimes i am when with close friends. now, it could just be that i'm focused, or thinking, or comfortable, or sad, or sick, or upset. when i'm angry with my aunt bc she won't stop messing with me i'll go silent. idk.

IVORY’S QUESTIONS.

1. Out of all the BTS members, whose fashion style would you wear for a week, and why would you choose their style?

Yoongi. I just love his sleek look and love it when he wears all dark coloured clothing. I normally wear similar style as he does, with the only difference being that his clothes are probably branded and cost the same as my monthly expenses lol

2. What song would you pay money to never hear ever again?

I have a ton, but Closer by Chainsmoker. Because that song was played everywhere and every single time when it was released. Sometimes I’d walk through some small streets in my city and there would be a few small shops that still plays it ://

3. If you could time travel, what decade/year would you go to, and why?

I’d probably say the year 80-90s, the era where most legends in music still reign. I grew up being taken care of by my older sister who is a Seattle Sound babe so I grew up listening to her fave music, such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and the likes, yet since she grew up listening to 70s rock bands (Genesis, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, etc thanks to my Dad) she made me listen to them too. I just want to experience the time when they were still huge and rocking.

4. Would you rather have your family read all of your smut-inclusive fics in secret and you never know about it, or would you prefer to explicitly, in detail, tell them of the smut scenes that you write, but they never literally read them?

.....This, is a hard one. Here’s the thing. My family knows I write, since (as I have mentioned before) I have experienced publishing my work years ago, so I can imagine them being curious to want to know if I am writing again and what I am writing about. Honestly, I’d rather prefer they find out themselves and not talk about it with me, only because the latter option will only turn out to be the most awkward talk ever. And the event of how my boyfriend accidentally found my folders of smut fics have kind of proven it already lol

5. What book and/or movie would you recommend to everyone until the day you die? As in, the book and/or movie that you would never not recommend to someone.

Not really. But I do love a part of a lyric taken from Radiohead’s song, My Iron Lungs, “We’re too young to fall asleep.” 

7. What is your favourite time of day, and why?

My favourite time in the span of 24 hours of my day at this moment would be at 3 am. It would be the quietest time of the night―my roommate would have just returned from work and had just fallen asleep, my cats would have just done with their midnight hunting spree and would be curling on my bed, the neighbour that somehow loves to play music extremely loud would have turned it off (he always blasts music until at least 1 AM) and no vehicles would dare past in front of my flat. 3 am always becomes that peaceful time for me when the only sound comes from my room (either my music or me typing on my computer) so I usually use the time to either work, paint, or write.

8. What ground-breaking invention do you hope to witness/experience in your lifetime? For example, scientists successfully reviving humans from cryopreservation.

9. You can now only eat one particular food/meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the rest of your life. What would it be?

Kimbab. Or grilled cheese.

10. What is something that you can think about that always brings back your childhood nostalgia? For example, mine is remembering that one level on the first Crash Bandicoot video game where you have to run away from a boulder.

The scent coming from wood blocks. You know those builder blocks for kids that was made from wood? That was the one thing I loved to play with when I was little. I would ignore people the moment I started building the blocks and instantly lived in my own world.

11. What is your Subway order? If you do not eat Subway, what food-chain/fast food restaurant do you have the exact same order for every single time you go there, and what is that order?

I don’t normally eat at Subway, but I always order Chicken Schnitzel when I do, with extra sweet mayo and chilli. For Maccas, I always order Fillet-o-Fish with large fries on the side. The one place I eat most is this one coffee shop near where I work. My usual menu would be a Tuna Sandwich with roasted wheat bread, potato chips on the side instead of fries, and sliced cherry tomato, with iced tea. This last one is actually my daily lunch.

UYU REVIEW: bb cosmetic x touch in sol METALLIST SHADOW + LIPSTICK DUOS use “bbuyuro” on bbcosmetic for 8% off!

I’d actually never heard of Touch in Sol before I reviewed these products. After doing some searching around, I found that they’re reasonably popular and they’re even sold at Sephora. Their prices seem to be a little above roadshop level but not too pricey either. Their Brand Story also shows that they’ve worked with Ailee and A Pink before! Overall, the general look of the brand seems to be geared towards unique and pigmented products, and the Metallist duos that I’m reviewing today seem to be amongst their most popular products.

BB Cosmetic is a relatively new Korean beauty store, and they stock a lot of the more popular Korean brands + they ship worldwide for free! 💗 Their prices are really affordable and competitive with some of my other faves with free shipping like Jolse and Beautynetkorea, as well as eBay stores. 

I personally love BB Cosmetic and it’s become one of my go-to websites for Korean beauty shopping. While they do provide me products to review, I shop there frequently as well~ I would highly suggest BB Cosmetic if you live in the US because they have USPS shipping which arrives super quick!

So today I will be reviewing two of the Metallist Liquid Foil and Glitter Shadow Duos and one of the Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duos.

Here is the packaging! All of the boxes have a rhombus shape which all fit together. I really like the design of the packaging to be honest. It’s designed well and has a lot of impact, plus the font is consistent through all their products.

The shadow and lipstick duo have similar packaging, except that the lipstick duo has a shiny center, plus the ‘liquid’ side has a matte container. Since they are all duos, they’re double ended and each side can be twisted open separately. 

Here are some first swatches, all colours are labelled. My first thoughts were that all the colours were super pigmented!! Also, the glitter doesn’t stick very well on it’s own and definitely fares better if you put it on top of a base (such as the liquid shadow).

There are 10 different shades in the Metallist Shadow Duo range and there are a lot of different colours. I picked Margaret, which is a champagne-copper colour, and Adelio, which is a burgundy colour. The liquid side has a doe foot applicator while the glitter side has a silicon brush-like applicator.

It was such a struggle getting these ingredient lists up since, for some reason, their official website had the ingredients listed in an image… so I had to type those all out in Korean and then translate it. (Afternote: I realised after writing all these that Sephora actually lists the ingredients. RIP.)

Anyway, the ingredients between the colours are quite similar. I didn’t see anything too out of the ordinary except glass. I thought it was odd at first but I guess it’s what they used as glitter in the Margaret shade.

In this photo Penny looks quite similar to Adelio but in other lighting they look completely different. This shows just how much the colours can change! Like I said above, just one swipe is super pigmented. I did find the stopper a little annoying to see so the first swatch of Adelio is a little lumpy, sorry!

METALLIST SHADOW DUO RATING: 4 / 5

From the start, I was super impressed with the pigmentation. The liquid shadows are super pigmented with one swipe but you can also choose to sheer it out a little and use as a topper. I really like that versatility because I know I’m not a person that would use OTT glittery shadows everyday. 

Margaret is a nice champagne colour that can easily be worn on it’s own when blended out, or you can pack it on more intensely for a dazzling copper colour.

Adelio is a nice burgundy colour which I don’t wear as often. I don’t like to wear the sheered liquid burgundy colour as much as Margaret, although that’s a personal preference as to what I like in daily shadows. However, I do like using it with my Modern Renaissance palette when I can be bothered to do fancier eye looks. It’s a really beautiful colour overall.

The lasting power was also great. The glitter in the liquid shadows stays well as does the colour. I didn’t have a problem with them wearing off after around 8 hours. Using these shades would be great for a night out.

While I love the liquid eyeshadow part of the duo, I’m not really a fan of the glitter part. For one, it’s super messy. As soon as you take the brush out, there’s already glitter fallout. Some parts can also fall out when it’s applied. I didn’t have any falling during wear but I mean when you’re applying it to your eye, it can fall everywhere which makes me super wary. I just find using the glitter a little bit of a hassle, so when I do use it I either use it on my undereye or just pat a little with my finger on the centre of my eye. I find using the brush generates a lot more fallout.

After running through cosDNA, quite a few ingredients came up as acne triggers but I don’t think it’s a huge problem as it’s a lip product.There are also a lot of extracts towards the bottom of the ingredient list.

Again, BB Cosmetic seems to be the best price although Yesstyle isn’t too bad if you were already planning to order something there. Be aware that Yesstyle does have a very long processing time for some of the colours though.

And here are my swatches! Compared to the official lip swatch, on me it looks less copper and more cool toned, although it does look exactly like the official arm swatches a couple pics above.

METALLIST LIPSTICK DUO RATING: 4 / 5

I do have to say that I was really impressed with the liquid lipstick’s formula. It felt super lightweight and it had a sort of powder finish that made it comfortable, and it didn’t feel sticky at all. It dried fairly fast also. I’m usually not a fan of liquid lipsticks because all the formulas I’ve tried have been really drying and over-emphasise lines but this one wasn’t bad. I didn’t really like the gloss as much though. I’m not really a fan of glosses in general, and this one felt super thick and sticky. You can see that it definitely does add a little more dimension when layered with the liquid but I feel like the liquid is intense enough already.

For lasting power, the lipstick was great on it’s own. Again, it was comfortable and I didn’t have to reapply during the day. With the gloss, obviously it does wear off a bit more easily and I didn’t like the transfer.

I do really like the concept of this lipstick duo and I think I would definitely use something like this for nights out. I do wish I had chosen a different colour - since I’m warm toned and this colour is cool toned it does look a little odd. I think either Maria, Zaza or Jasmine might have looked a little better!

Overall, I think if you’re in the market for a dramatic, metallic lip product and don’t mind glosses, this is a pretty good product. This isn’t my favourite lip product due to the colour mostly, but I’m going to try experimenting using it as a lip topper for some other products and see if I can make this colour work!
