A thought about Astolfo's sister name. Fanon name is Louisette because for his weapon, but we know Charles called that lance Louisitte,so this name wasn't decided by Astolfo.
But the palandins are connect song of Ronald which gives ispiration to other poems, one Orlando Furioso. In this poem Orlando/Ronald is in competition for hand of Angelica, who her action and obsetion on her brought the fail of paladins.
If the theory Astolfo sis is N°70, she would be a very important witness of Church actions, so Ronald would need/protect her while Rinaldo wants to kill her.
You can tell but Vanitas and Misha can be also witness, we are talking about classist society who wouldn't listened to "low class",plus they are both kin of infamous vampire.
Astolfo's sister is an heir of important family of palandine, her word can be very dangerous to corropts.
So I think if she is going to apper, her name would be Angelina.

Is it too late to ask for a fun fact this late Friday?
In the French medieval canon, especially The Song of Roland, our hero, the French knight Roland, has a special sword named Durendal. It also might have belonged to his uncle Charlemagne back when he was young (although it’s not the main sword associated with him–that’s Joyeuse). Its origin was changed from one writer to another–a common one was that it was forged by Wayland the Smith (a legendary blacksmith who made magic swords all the time, apparently), while others say it belonged to Hector of Troy–himself one of the Nine Worthies–long before Roland got his hands on it.
[Also! It’s revealed to be Esperrachius, the Sword of Hope in Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.]
Spoiler alert! In Song of Roland, as he lay dying, Roland very much does not want his cool legendary sword to fall into enemy hands, so he tries to destroy it. This doesn’t work, as the sword is not easily destroyed (or perhaps, it is indestructible) so he resolves to lay on it and try to hide it with his own body.
There is ALSO a medieval legend that instead of hiding it, Roland threw the sword. And being such a BEAST, and the sword being supernaturally sharp/strong, it embedded itself into the side of a cliff at Rocamadour, which had an abbey. And you know what? That sword (or a replica of it which is what official materials now say according to Wikipedia) is still there TO THIS DAY:

Cool, huh?

HIST131C: Martyrdom and Barbarism
Martyrdom and barbarism are two among the many themes that both the Alexiad and the Song of Roland share. This project hopes to explore, through this Tumblr blog I started, such themes in a multifaceted way. Throughout our class, we have worked toward gaining an "unflattened" understanding of history: to avoid falling into binary or monolithic historiographies. Instead, we have constantly sought to relate our historical Crusades content to contemporary "Crusading mentalities,"
All the sources beyond sources posted on Sakai are linked in the posts, and images are hyperlinked to their sources -- so just click on them. Tumblr puts the most recent posts first (and clearly I didn't think that through until I realized I made a good call on writing the introductory post last). I didn't plan out the posts in a particular order, so I'm sorry if you need to do a bit of scrolling! Padlet would've also been useful, but I feel like Padlet's presentation appears more crammed, and that I can only write shorter captions. Not only is Tumblr nostalgic for me, I can also write long, detailed posts -- which is always satisfying after you do a lot of research into something!
Working on this project has unveiled a lot more about the Song of Roland and the Alexiad to me -- in how they relate to maps, contemporary politics, music, manuscripts, material culture, old French poetry, and even art. I always enjoy learning about all these different aspects beyond the conventional historical events timeline or statistics, and I have learned many new things in the process of doing this.
Of course, for music, the most obvious song to me has to (undeniably) be from my secondary school history teacher's favorite album: Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
Enjoy the blog!

I really really fucking loved Mentopolis and its cast, and its plot and everything. And I thought this is it, this is the best d20. But honestly same with Burrows End. Like the cast is great, Jasper William Cartwright?! I am so fangirling. And the stoats and their families??? Amazing. I just think d20 is getting better and better.
(I have sky high expectations for junior year)
