still trying to decide if i'd add canon characters or not to my multi (yes it is happening)

#i honestly hate their canon stuff #some more than others y'know #so it'd be pretty much like making them my ocs #also not sure if i'd add the g.enshin ones #bc they are the ones i'd pretty much rewrite the whole character #r.aiden and g.anyu to those who are curious #they'd still be the same characters in essence but i feel like they lack some the oomf other characters got #specially g.anyu she's just there in the story #r.aiden has a lot more care into her but i dont like the resolution of her character arc #bla bla bla good ppl do evil things out of love bla bla #let her be an asshole pls she doesnt need a redemption #anyways the only canon muses i'd add are from g.enshin and h.sr #bc im insane like that in case you couldnt notice

Or maybe DMK couldn’t quite reach an itch between his wings and Daroach got a bit overenthusiastic trying to help. Basically anything that could ruin his “big scary cool toughguy” reputation. As long as DMK is too embarrassed to admit to it in front of his crew, they’re all viable options, haha.)

ruthlessly deleting old 2021/2022 posts (not by me) from my dean studies tag like *click* un-incorporating that from my beliefs system! also the way SO many posts have me like ok uh-huh good aaand then say one completely wrong thing that loses me. it's so many posts.

#it's usually when they randomly drop some line of fanon. like saying dean has never admitted to being wrong in his life #or never expressed an emotion or been vulnerable or doesn't Talk About Feelings or is super duper RepressedTM #like i'm sorry. have you watched the show. oh and have you taken off the sammy POV goggles first?#bc this guy is always crying and being vulnerable and talking about his feelings. he is self-aware.#he may not always want to talk to sam abt things! but he sure does talk about things with other people #do i need to reblog the compilation posts AGAIN?#(also re: his sexualiy? AWARE. sorry i saw him flirt and be flustered by so many men. he knows how he feels.)#and then 'first time ever admitting to being wrong' this one came from a post abt dean's prayer in the trap #like i'm sorry but first of all. dean apologizes more than any other character on the show. there are hard numbers on this.#people have tracked this on spreadsheets. i think ilarual is one of them.#and often he is apologizing for things that aren't even his fault! but he still feels responsible for bc he's been made to feel that way #his whole life!!#other characters *cough samandcas *cough* apologizing Less doesn't mean they've Done less things wrong #it just means they're not owning up to it and brushing it under the rug. something both do frequently.#anyways. aside from apologies. dean also has no problem admitting he's wrong y'know when he's actually wrong #which is less often than you'd think bc he has pretty good instincts and intuition and often suspects things which turn out to be Right #but anyways. another thing abt the trap prayer is. i don't think cas Needed to be forgiven #i think dean was justified in feeling angry w cas over the circumstances leading to the Death of His Mother! totally normal grief response!#i think cas also understands dean to be someone who needs time to process and deal with his feelings (he says as much to jack)#however. despite me not think dean Needs to forgive cas. the thing is. with dean when it comes to cas the forgiveness is implicit #when he says /of course i forgive you/ and in the cut like /of course i wanted you to stay/ like. yes he was mad and dealing with grief #but also. yes cas was already forgiven even back then. he just needed Time to work through the feelings #anyways i think dean says he 'forgives' cas bc it's what CAS needed to hear to stop feeling guilty and dean gives him that closure #but i also think cas was already forgiven even in dean's anger. he wants him there always. i'd rather have you. we can fix this. etc etc #a lot of tags for a non-rebloggable post ajksdfs maybe i'll make these into a real post sometime #vic.txt #dean and feelings #so i can find this all again later

Y'know the part in PMMM where Kyubey says that in his species of hivemind aliens, emotion is considered a mental disorder?

And y'know how Eclipse is inordinately emotional compared to other Black Arms? Even the lead ones like Doom and Death who are capable of independent thought and feelings aren't nearly so emotional as to shed tears at Shadow's continued rejection of his kind, nor cry out in distress when his fellow Black Arms are threatened.

My point is that Eclipse is neurodivergent by the standards of the species and culture in which he was raised and I think that's neat.

I'd love to know more about Emma in your Regency AU, given the fact she was in the description of it

I don't talk about Emma nearly enough! In the Regency AU she and Arthur are engaged of course, but it's more of a convenience thing rather than a romantic pursuit. Emma's family, headed by Jan, is part of the Nederland's Patriciaat. They're kind of like unofficial nobility, they have wealth and influence, but they lack a title. The Peeters family got this position as successful merchants- the problem is that by 1810, the French have put that in jeopardy. Jan had been doing business in England for a number of years because of the war, but the French takeover made it difficult for him to exercise any power and authority in the Netherlands, and messed with his business in the Indian Ocean to boot. Emma, therefore, becomes a means to an end: if she can marry a member of the English nobility, their family will have some attachment to "truly" noble blood and a money safety-net. The fact that it's Arthur, whose family is also involved in maritime trade and who has influence in the British navy makes their situation even better.

Emma has always known what her role was going to be, and for the most part she'd accepted that. She's bubbly, inviting, good at parties. She's a queen of society, and she knows it. She also understands that securing that kind of life is the end of the bargain she gets from marrying Arthur. That's not to say that she never wanted a loving marriage, but more so that she spent years telling herself it wasn't worth waiting for one, especially when Jan had his own interests to look after. If Arthur wasn't infatuated with Francis, it's likely they might have had an actual loving marriage. She doesn't exactly know it's Francis at first, but she gathers pretty quickly that Arthur's heart is in another place that he can't present to society. She's at least got the consolation that she'll have Molly's company and Arthur will be gone for long stretches of time at sea.

What shakes this "perfect" arrangement up is Antonio. He makes his way to England through Joao, as a favor to his own fiancee, Anneliese. He was also a family friend to Lovino and Feliciano, giving him someone else to stick around for. Anneliese and Antonio are also headed toward a marriage of convenience, that is until Antonio sets eyes on Emma. The two start having a bit of a flirtation back and forth, especially as they start acting as "chaperones" for Molly and Lovino. It gets serious, and it's probably one of the first relationships Emma has ever gotten any emotional fulfilment out of aside from Molly, Lovino, and her younger brother, Alexander. It really forces her to reckon with whether or not she's willing to give up the prospect of having status for a future in which she's happy and fulfilled. She sort of overcorrects, and ends up projecting onto Molly, almost fucking up her relationship in the process as well. In the end, she really ends up kind of being a matchmaker around the ton, which in turn rehabilitates some of her views on her own love life and forces her to work with Antonio even more.

All in all, if I ever actually wrote this fic (maybe someday when I'm not booked up with an internship!), Emma would 100% be one of the more central characters. She's the one whose arc I really have the most thought out, and she's one of the strings that ties a lot of people together.

Mirror Kira is something that can actually be so personal

#in a number of ways tbh like defo in a gay way and in terms of clone fucker rights and in terms of evil girlbossing etc etc but most of all #most of the mirror characters (to me) feel like au versions of the prime characters and obviously they ARE but they're still very much atta #attached to the prime characters y'know what i mean? like maybe not everyone but most mirror characters do feel like they basically are wha #the prime characters could've been if their lives had been different and like it's not completely out of the question for mirror kira but s #she still feels so... herself. like she's not defined by prime kira on any level. most mirror characters feel very defined by their prime c #counterparts and mirror kira... she's different. she is literally herself and no similarities will change that. she does not exist as an ex #extension of prime kira she is her own separate character. mirror kira could literally exist in the prime universe without even having to b #connected to prime kira by anything other than name and face. file off her serial numbers and you're golden & have a new and extremely comp #compelling villain. she is separate she's herself and nobody else. all the other mirror characters feel like twisted versions of the prime #characters who took a different path at some point. if there's any way to apply this to mirror kira that point would be her birth. like she #genuinely feels like they took a look at the circumstances on bajor in the mirror verse and thought about how a bajoran might grow up there #and THEN they made that bajoran kira. like i'm not saying she's nothing like prime kira but she just feels so much more developed tbh as if #they genuinely wrote out her whole life rather than just its present state y'know. it's great! i adore her #anyway #mirror kira nerys #mirrorverse #star trek deep space nine #ds9 #yes most of the meat of this post is in the tags lmao idek why #original posts fresh from quark's pussy

#lwaxodo but an AU where my None Gender Left Girl odo headcanon is real and lwaxana may not be able to read his mind or anything #but still picks up on it because uhh i'm making it part of this AU now that deanna is trans. so lwaxana sees some familiar Signs #and she helps odo realize it #i mean she was like the first person to really love and understand and accept odo for who he is #i think she understands a little bit more than he's able to y'know. even without the use of telepathy #anyway imagine if they had more than 3 episodes together and lwaxana comes back with a gift for odo #as thanks for helping her get out of her last marriage and keep her baby. which he says is unnecessary but she insists #and it's this beautiful shimmering gold dress. she knows he doesn't need clothes because he can just shapeshift them #but she says it made her think of him. the real him. gold and sparkling and beautiful #and he's so touched by it. he's never thought of himself as beautiful in any form but he has no doubt that she sincerely means it #ough. anyway. i got carried away with these tags #they're cute. i love their friendship and i wish we got to see more of it #they're so cute as a couple too tho i know lwaxana accepted that odo doesn't feel that way about her #they're still very important to each other. like it may not be romance but it's deeper than friendship. i love them. we deserved more

Grabs my self insert, Barghest. Born in England, taken to America as a child by his mother after she met and ultimately wed an American soldier. It did not turn out great. As soon as he turned 18, he gathered up as much as he could and ran away to find a new start in New York City. Not having money, he found one of the cheapest apartments to rent in that he could. That's where he first ended up meeting one Walter Kovacs, as a neighbour.

He's quite an anxious person, shy around new people, and Walter is. Walter. So they didn't talk much at first. Not until a loud argument broke out in the building's hallways and surprisingly the loudest person there was Barghest. Another tenant has a break up go wrong and he happened to be walking back to his apartment, saw red and stepped in. The sudden appearance of another person prompted that tenant's quite nasty, now ex-boyfriend to clear off. It ended with a very shaken, still kind of angry Barghest letting slip to Walter that he couldn't not step in. Not after what he grew up with.

It was the feeling of similar history that got them actually talking more, an unspoken sense of understanding even without any details being immediately dived into. Over time they ended up actually becoming friends. After a few years of Barghest practically living with Walter since he spent a majority of his time at his place, they actually ended up sharing an apartment. "For financial reasons." Definitely not because they'd become unexpectedly attached to each other. Two guys, sitting on a couch, 2 feet apart 'cause they're not gay.

So Barghest and Walter have settled in. Everything's fine, Barghest's not since long celebrated his 23rd birthday. Except not really, because the murder of Kitty Genovese happened. We know what Walter's response to that was. So one time Barghest woke in the middle of the night, got up to get a glass of water and had the shock of his life when he saw this new costumed crime fighter is stood in the middle of his apartment. Especially when he looks up from the mask in his hands and sees that it's Walter all exhausted and kinda beat up after a particularly rough night. Cue the most awkward silence that stretched on for at least a minute straight.

"It's too late for this, not the right time for a conversation. Just... let me help with those injuries." Barghest damn near cries breaking that silence because he's not sure how to feel. He settles somewhere between pride that Walter's got the guts to do what he's been to scared to do, and fear for the safety of the person closest to him. It ends up being the push Barghest needs and that's when he becomes Barghest. He's always tried to help people but always wished to do more and starts putting together a costume of his own.

Barghest is however quite clear that half of his motive is not wanting to see Walter go and get himself hurt too badly, so especially in the beginning he'd start his nights with sticking by Rorschach. They'd started working with the second Nite Owl too, Barghest less so than Rorschach although he still considered Daniel a friend. It was at this point that Barghest and Rorschach increasingly became oddly domestic in the privacy of their home. They effectively were already acting like a somewhat unconventional couple so just... steadily ended up referring to each other as partner. It was up to whoever heard to decide if they meant professionally or romantically. They know who they are to each other, even if both of them can be a little awkward when it comes to verbally expressing it.

Then came the Blaire Roche case, when Rorschach became Rorschach. It was a very, very rough time and it hurt Barghest to see Rorschach hurt so deeply. He tried as best as he could to be a source of support but knew that wouldn't undo what happened. As Rorschach became more closed off to other people, their relationship felt strained at first but ultimately managed to hold strong. Rorschach wasn't a fan of public displays of affection in the first place but was somehow even more reserved about it. When the Keene Act eventually passed, Barghest did continue to occasionally dabble in vigilantism but slowed down due to worries over the legislation and due to lingering issues from old injuries.

Following that, there's the entire events of Watchmen. That's mostly the same except Barghest gets involved. I'm actually not completely settled on the full details of him being there and how it shapes the interactions between him and Rorschach. However, after Rorschach gets broken out of prison Barghest absolutely did not want to be parted from him. Rorschach's tolerance of that clinginess was likely surprising to everyone else, I'd imagine. Probably also to himself. The biggest change is Rorschach does not get turned into the world's most morbid confetti. I do not see it. (From a writer's perspective I LOVE the end of Watchmen, but from the perspective of being in love? Ouch.)

Man some of these "sport dog" breeders will have a whole alphabet soup of titles on their dogs but when you look at them they're like all novice/beginner titles. Or things like CGN. Easy stuff. I want to see Excellent and Masters titles, even if that means your dog has fewer letters after their name.

#though even among novice titles some do mean a little more than others #like a novice sprinter or dock diving or trick dog or a CGN compared to a novice agility or obedience title is very different #you are putting a lot more work into some #But still if you're trying to prove to me that you're producing amazing sport dogs then maybe some of your dogs should have big titles ...#The excuse is often 'I don't have time to compete.' But like ... if you are trying to produce sport dogs you better be finding the #time to sport them y'know?#If I want a puppy to take to the high levels of sport why on earth would I get one from parents who have only ever done the baby levels?#Your dog can have all the 'potential' you want but like ... prove it #I find this is very common with Border Collie breeders ...

imagine: professor utonium mentoring dexter vs professor membrane mentoring mandark

#dexter & mandark are the only two kids in their district to qualify for some young scholar program & arr bussed off to take classes from #their assigned mentor once or twice a week.#dexter is at odds with himself about it at first. on one hand he's glad that his intelligence is finally being appreciated & nurtured in #some official capacity. let alone by a mind as lauded as the creator of the powerpuff girls. but on the other hand he would prefer to just #move on up to taking college courses entirely rather than have to go through this half measure. & he also gets a little disillusioned with #utonium when he realizes 1) that pretty much everything utonium is famous for was invented by accident including the ppg #& 2) outside of the ppg utonium hasn't achieved much more than dexter himself already has #meanwhile mandark practically kisses the ground that membrane walks on because he's so glad someone in his life recognize's his potential #& membrane sort of sees mandark as the son he wishes dib could be. he's never very open or affectionate about it though because y'know.#it's membrane #he never talks about his kids & sees them so rarely that mandark didn't even realize he had children of his own until like 3½ months into it #whereas utonium cannot shut up about his girls. nor would dexter want him to since they seem to be the most interesting thing about the man #utonium realizes pretty quickly that dexter doesn't need academic guidance so much as he needs social interaction with 1) people who won't #bully or belittle him for being who he is & 2) children his own age. so he starts subtlety encouraging his daughters to meet & befriend him.#I imagine that they come to visit him during his office hours regularly anyways so this happens pretty naturally.#also I think that even though utonium & membrane would definitely respect one another & collaborate well in a professional sense they don't #really mesh personality wise. utonium finds membrane to be far too cold & callous.#membrane thinks that utonium is basically a baby man who doesn't hold himself the way an accomplished man of science should.#ppg #powerpuff girls #the powerpuff girls #dexter's laboratory #dexter's lab #invader zim #headcanon #au #professor utonium #professor membrane #dexter mcpherson #(why is that his fanon last name again? where did that come from)

I still have a really big soft spot for ESO's class design tbh, I think having to realistically make every spec able to perform every MMO role while also having to make every one of those classes feel noticeably unique and different even in the same role was a really fun design decision

#saint.txt #in other words ESO has the really fun aspect of not being locked to a specific class to play a specific MMO role (tank / dps / healer)#and even better while each spec shares certain things all of them to some extend feel unique from each other even in the same role #dragonknight might be the typical tank class but NB tank is still a genuine choice that relies on different tanking tools #mag!NB and stam!NB are on completely different sides of the spectrum when it comes to DPS roles.#Stam!NB is your prototypical glass cannon RPG rogue class w/ high DPS but no self-healing (outside of vigour from Cyro.diil)#while mag!NB is entirely DoT effects and is one of the easiest classes to solo on bc of free invis + incredible amounts of self-healing #NB healers are basically vampire-style healers or are cutting into their own HP to heal which makes them noticeably different #from say DK!healers which have a lot more shield/barrier options to straight up prevent damage in the first place than other healers.#and so on. even in the same role each class has its own feel and gimmick(s) which means even with limited classes you're incentivized #to make a lot of alts to play around with. it's such a fun departure from the typical systems and classes aren't pigeonholed into XYZ role #that being said the system also = gear itself being pretty cookie cutter bc everyone has to run to same basic things and core abilities so.#pros and cons y'know. but I still think it's a super fun system.
