My prompt was : Hurricane
WC: 6,648 Rating: E (for smut in pt. 2)
Summary:
When a major Hurricane is projected to hit Hawkins (technically it’s more like the remnants of a hurricane, but the residents of Hawkins don’t really know the difference or care), Dustin is worried about his new friend and DM, Eddie Munson, who lives in a trailer, a structure not known for its resilience against severe weather. He invites the older boy to ride the storm out with him and his mom at home, unaware that she has made arrangements for them to stay with family that live far away from the storm's trajectory. Dustin doesn’t want to leave his friend high and dry, enter everyone’s favorite babysitter: Steve Harrington.
Notes: Yes, there really was a hurricane called Bob in 1979. Not Robert. BOB. (followed closely by tropical storm Claudette, both made at least some sort of appearance in or near indiana.)
I had to do a quick google search to make sure hurricanes even happened in that area of the country. They do, sort of, but only like every 7-10 years. I live in a coastal town and we get at least one hurricane a year and it just did not occur to me that this is not a thing in some places🙈.

Steve was nearing the end of his shift at family video, alone because Robin could only work part time during the school year, when Dustin called.
He sighed into the telephone, leaning heavily on the counter as he listened to the kid prattle on at 100 miles an hour about some kind of emergency . Steve had panicked for a second, until Dustin explained that it wasn’t a code-red emergency, just a regular mundane one. He could have cried in relief. It’d only been a little over two months since their last run-in with the Upside-Down, and if he was honest with himself, he still wasn’t 100% back to normal from Starcourt yet. He wasn’t sure he ever would be.
Dustin proceeded to go on and on about his new best friend and fellow D&D nerd, Eddie, and Steve tried to listen, he really did, but he had no idea what the hell any of it had to do with him. Then Henderson finally dropped the bomb.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. Are you really asking me to spend the Hurricane babysitting Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson?” Steve sputtered.
“It’s not babysitting, he’s older than you!”
“He is still in high school though.” Steve smugly pointed out.
“Don’t be an asshole, not everyone is good at school.”
Ok, that was..fair, but Steve still didn’t feel like getting roped into this. “Why can’t he stay at your house again?”
“Were you even listening?” Dustin scoffed. “My mom got too nervous, something about a tree falling on the house back in ‘79. She wants us to evacuate and stay with family for a day or two. I already offered Eddie someplace to go, I can’t take it back now! C’mon Steve, the trailer park isn’t safe, that's why Max and her mom are staying at Lucas’, remember?”
Steve tapped the receiver against his forehead and counted to five. This kid and his fucking tone. “He really doesn’t have anywhere else to go?”
He was sure Eddie didn’t like him either, there's no way the guy wanted to be stuck with him alone, for god knew how long, anymore than Steve did.
“No, and please don't tell him I said anything, and don’t laugh, but I think he’s kind of freaked out about the storm.”
Steve softened, in all honesty he was too. “I wouldn’t laugh about something like that, Henderson. I'm not a total dick.”
Steve was 12 when Hurricane Bob made landfall in Hawkins, the first major storm he had ever seen. Being so far from any coast, It wasn’t common for Indiana to experience tropical storms. Typically, they only had to deal with minor bad weather from the remnants of them as they dissipated . He had ridden it out alone, having finally hit the age where his mother deemed him old enough not to need a babysitter overnight, unless she and his father planned to be gone for longer than a weekend. He told himself they would have come home to be with him if only the flights hadn’t been grounded. He knows better now, and even back then, he hadn’t truly believed it.
He'd been prepared to go through this event in much the same way, except now he was grown and could drink himself through the nerves, and the boredom of a power outage, if he wanted to. He would prefer to have company, but the kids needed to be home with their families, Robin was out of town, and Nancy… wasn’t an option. They were fine with each other when the shit hit the fan and all, but they weren't exactly friends. Besides, she was still with Jonathan, even if he was 2,000 miles away with his mom, brother and El. It would just be awkward.
“So, can he stay with you?” Dustin asked again, bringing Steve back to the present. All of the kid’s cocky tone and kidding was gone for the moment. He really was worried about his friend, Steve realized.
“Does he even know it’s my house you're inviting him to? I wasn't exactly a nice guy for most of high school.” Steve was breaking. He would cave. He knew it.
“I'm sure it’ll be fine, we talk about you at Hellfire all the time and he's never said anything. Just give him a chance. Who knows, maybe you’ll come out of this with a friend who’s actually your own age.”
“Hey, I have Robin!” Steve protested.
“You need more than one friend, Steve. I’m gonna call Eddie and tell him the good news. Is it okay if he comes right over?”
He still hadn’t exactly said yes, but they both knew he would.
“Yea.. that’s fine. I get off work in fifteen minutes”
-
Steve had only just gotten home himself when the doorbell rang. Here we go , he thought.
“You don’t have to do this y’know.” Eddie grumbled the moment the door opened. Somehow making it sound like he’s the one being put out.
Steve groaned internally, cursing Dustin for volunteering him and his house for this. He wanted to agree with the guy, would be happy to slam the door in his face even, but Dustin would be pissed if he didn’t at least try to play nice.
“Come on in, Munson. I’ll show you where you can put your stuff.”
Eddie followed him wordlessly through the foyer and up the stairs, eyes darting around nervously the whole way. He looked so out of place in Steve’s boring upper middle class house, all ripped black jeans, rings glinting on every finger, and a leather jacket. He stood out, demanded to be noticed, just like he always had in school.
Steve showed him the guest room and pointed out the main bathroom down the hall, before ducking into his own room for a sorely needed after work shower. Apart from his gruff greeting, Munson seemed a little more subdued than he had been expecting. He supposed it was a lot, not only the nerves about the impending storm, but being in a strange house with someone he barely knew. He should really take it easy on the guy.
-
Not long after he’d shut the water off and ran a towel over his sopping hair, there was a knock on Steve’s bedroom door. What could Eddie possibly need already? Couldn’t it wait until he got dressed? He huffed, tying the towel securely across his hips and threw open the door.
Eddie stood in the hall with his arms crossed defensively over his chest, still looking back towards the end of the hall as he spoke.
“I know you’ve led a pretty privileged life here, Harrington, but there's things you’re supposed to do to prepare for a hurricane y’know. Meaning you do them before the bad weather hits. I don’t see a single flashlight, or bucket and…”
He turned mid sentence, trailing off as he finally caught sight of Steve standing in the doorway, dripping wet and in nothing but a towel. Eddie turned bright red and quickly looked away, mumbling apologies. It was ridiculous, Steve thought, it was no different than the locker room at school. Guys saw each other in just a towel all the time, sometimes less. Maybe Eddie was shy or something.
“Give me a few minutes to get some clothes on and we’ll sort it out.” Steve muttered.
Eddie nodded too fast, and too many times. Steve shook his head, backing up to close the door. He may have shut it a little on the harder side, not quite slamming it the way he wanted to, but it was loud enough to signal his annoyance.
As Steve descended the stairs ten minutes later, he remembered what Dustin said, and his own thoughts about Eddie’s predicament. He found the other boy in the kitchen, rooting through the fridge and decided to let it go, and approach the situation with as much kindness as he could muster.
He plastered on his brightest customer service smile. “Alright, so tell me about this preparation you want to do.”
Eddie did not extend the same courtesy, and gave him nothing but bitchy side-eye in return.
“You should know this stuff, Harrington, it’s survival 101. Basic shit!”
Steve looked skyward, praying for patience. “Okay, we’ve established that I'm an idiot. Why don’t we move on from that for now, and you just tell me what we should be doing?” He was proud of himself for saying it very evenly, and with hopefully no indication of how irritated he truly was.
Eddie hummed, considering him for a moment. “Fine.”
He grabbed Steve by the wrist and pulled him towards the back door, pointing through the glass. “All that shit out there? The chairs, the table, the goddamned potted plants? Projectiles, all of them. They need to get put away in a shed or secured or something.”
Steve blinked.
That.
That made perfect sense.
Maybe he was an idiot. He hadn’t even thought about it. All he had done in anticipation of the storm was to stock the fridge with beer. Eddie seemed to see Steve come to the realization, and his frosty demeanor thawed slightly.
“Why don’t you take care of the outside and I'll start filling the bathtubs with water. Do you have any buckets?”
“In the garage, under the workbench. What’s that for?” He was genuinely curious now.
“If the power goes out, so does your water pump.” Eddie began, matter-of-factly. “You fill the bathtubs so you have some water to wash with and flush toilets. That’s what the buckets are for, easiest way to top up the toilet tank. Speaking of water, we’ll want to fill some pitchers or something from the sink too, for drinking or cooking.”
“Okay. Thanks, um, for explaining all of that.”
Eddie gave him a thin-lipped smile and curt nod before setting off to start his tasks.
-
They did have a shed, which was mostly empty, Steve came to find. It didn’t take him long to put every loose item from around the outside of the house away. Clouds started rolling in as he finished up, and there was a bit of wind stirring, but nothing crazy yet. Satisfied that he’d done an adequate enough job, he went back in to see how Eddie was making out.
Steve had to give it to the guy, he was not shy. The kitchen looked ransacked. Every drawer and cabinet was wide open. The countertops were littered with random candles of every shape and size, lighters, a few books of matches, batteries, two flashlights, and several large plastic containers which Eddie was already in the process of filling with water and placing in the freezer.
He stared wide-eyed at the display, a little in awe of it. He wasn’t used to being ready for the bad things. Usually disaster struck first, and then Steve scrambled to keep everyone safe. He liked the idea that, at least in this particular scenario, there was something he could do to prevent problems instead of struggling to solve them later.
Eddie finally noticed him and followed his line of sight around the room. He grimaced, looking bashful for the first time. “Sorry, I just..”
“It’s fine, really. Thank you for doing all this.” Steve said, wearing his true smile for the first time. He walked around the room, closing the various doors as he contemplated what to make for dinner. Eddie’s eyes tracked him the whole time, like he was waiting for Steve to snap at him.
He pretended not to notice and dug into the fridge. The decision about food was made easy when he noticed the steaks he had taken out to thaw sitting on a shelf. He’d been too tired to cook after his shift the night before, opting instead to shove a handful of pretzels into his mouth and collapse in front of the T.V.
Steve took the plate of meat out and set it on the counter along with two beers. He popped the tops off the bottles and handed one to Eddie who accepted it with a blank stare.
He pulled the big cast iron pan off the rack and placed it on a burner to start heating up while he gathered the rest of his ingredients. He lined up the butter and herbs to the side, so they’d be ready when he was. There were still a few pre-cooked potatoes left over from earlier in the week, so he got those out as well and started a second pan on the stove to warm them up. He didn’t feel like fussing with a vegetable so…
“Okay, what the fuck is happening right now?!” Eddie snapped, interrupting Steve’s train of thought.
“Hmm?” Steve hummed, beer bottle pressed against his lips.
Eddie gestured in his general direction, as if it was obvious.
“Um, cooking? Shit, do you not eat red meat? I should have asked, I can figure something else out if..”
“Cut the crap, Harrington!” Eddie shouted. “I bossed you around, made a huge mess in your kitchen, hell, I've been outright rude to you since the moment I walked through the door and you haven't said jack about it! You thanked me, twice! What gives? Why are you being so nice? You’re supposed to be an asshole!”
“Oh. I’m not.. I mean, I'm trying not to be that guy anymore.”
Eddie narrowed his eyes. “Even if that were true, like I said, I know I've been a dick. You’d be well within the rules of polite society, or whatever the fuck, to call me out on it.”
“Honestly, man, I know you’re in kind of a weird situation being here, and I was just trying to give you a break.”
“Oh.”
Eddie was quiet and still for a long moment before abruptly upending his beer, drinking it all in one go before immediately swapping it for a full one.
Steve snorted. “You okay?”
“Fine, just, y’know, having my entire world view turned upside down. Not something I wanna deal with sober.”
Steve laughed a little harder than the situation probably deserved, but Eddie had, albeit inadvertently, made the most ironic choice of words. If the guy only knew.
Eddie pulled himself up to sit on the counter, watching intently as Steve tossed their steaks into the now screaming hot pan.
“Where'd you learn to cook?”  Eddie asked. The, be cause didn’t your rich-boy mommy always cook for you , went unsaid. The other boy’s version of being nice, Steve assumed.
“Trial and error mostly, and don’t tell anyone, but I watch a lot of Julia Child reruns.” Steve grinned and threw a wink over his shoulder.
Eddie sucked in a small breath and his cheeks turned the most adorable shade of pink. It reminded Steve of how the girls at school used to look when he’d flirt, before he’d lost his touch anyway. Wait, why was he thinking the word adorable in the same sentence as Eddie Munson?
Steve shook himself and turned his attention back to the stove, concentrating on not overcooking anything, instead of trying to figure out why he was suddenly so nervous.
-
As they sat at the dining table and ate together, Steve kept having the strangest feeling that this was a little like a first date. He didn’t know what was wrong with him today. This was Eddie Munson, he barely knew the guy, and they did not like each other. Except, maybe now they were getting over that? Also, Eddie was a guy, and although Robin coming out to him earlier this summer had opened his eyes more to the possibility that some people weren’t straight, he just didn’t see that for himself.
“So, how did King Steve wind up tethered to a gaggle of middle schoolers anyway?”
“Former King.” Steve corrected, but not unkindly. “Babysitting, sort of. Not that they need that anymore but, yeah.”
“Why’d you stick around?”
Steve shrugged “They’re good kids. Dustin’s like a little brother to me.”
Eddie chuckled. “I get that. There’s just something about him that makes you want to take care of him.”
“I know right!? It’s the eyes or something, like he’s a lost puppy.”
“Oh he would hate that comparison. You’re not wrong though.” Eddie agreed, pointing at Steve with his fork.
“How are they handling being freshman? I remember it being rough even for me and I wasn't..” Steve cut himself off, realizing too late that he was about to put his foot in his mouth.
“A nerd?” Eddie finished for him with a raised eyebrow.
Steve winced. “Sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it, Harrington, we know what we are.” Eddie grinned. “I think your boys are doing alright, for what it’s worth I'm keeping an eye on them.”
Steve smiled, it was worth a lot actually. The more he got to know Eddie, the gladder he was that the kids had found him.
“You said boys, does that mean Lucas wasn’t able to get Max to join your game?” Steve asked.
“Is that the angry red-head he’s always pining over?”
“That would be the one.”
Eddie frowned. “No, she’s not in Hellfire, but she is my neighbor. Is Max one of your kids too?”
“Not that she’d ever admit it but, yea. She’s had a rough couple months. You remember Billy Hargrove?”
“Of course I remember that cocky prick. Not to speak ill of the dead or anything. why?”
“He was Max’s step brother.” Steve explained. “They didn’t like each other much, so it’s complicated, but I’ve been worried about her.”
“Damn. That’s tough. I’ll see what I can do to look out for her around the trailer park.”
“Thanks.”
-
By the time they finished up dinner it had started raining, and the wind was really picking up speed. Steve could feel himself getting tense. It didn’t matter that he had faced far scarier things than this, he still had to keep reminding himself that it would be okay. He was an adult now and he wasn’t alone.
He was pretty sure Eddie was having some of the same anxiety and was just trying to hide it. What they needed was a distraction. They might as well make use of the electricity while they still had it.
“I brought a few movies home from work, they’re in a bag by the front door. You wanna pick something and I'll grab a couple more beers?” Steve asked, as he cleared their plates.
Eddie groaned. “Fine, but there’d better be something besides Fast Times or The Breakfast Club.”
“Okay first of all, The Breakfast Club just came out on tape, it’ll be weeks before I can get my hands on it, and what’s wrong with Fast Times?! It’s a classic!”
Eddie just shook his head and went off in search of the bag.
They met back up in the living room a few minutes later. Eddie was pulling videos out of the bag, a stunned look on his face.
“Okay, I can admit that maybe you don’t have completely abysmal taste in movies. I mean, Footloose isn’t exactly my thing, but who can resist Kevin Bacon? And all three Star Wars? Steve, you're practically begging me to have a marathon and I can't resist.”
“I’ve actually only seen the one, but I liked it a lot.” Steve admitted. “Dustin’s been on me to watch them all, so I figured this was as good a time as any, at least until the power goes out.”
“It pains me to ask, but which one have you seen? Please don’t say..”
“The one with the teddy bears!” Steve said gleefully, knowing exactly what he was doing.
Eddie raked a hand over his face. “Forget everything I said before, you are the absolute worst.”
Steve tossed a pillow at him. Eddie fell dramatically off the couch and the two of them burst into giggles like children. A warmth started to grow in Steve’s chest. Maybe Dustin was right, maybe he would come out of this with a friend.
They made it through the first movie and another six pack before Steve called for a break. The storm was now fully raging outside, the wind strong enough to rattle the windows and the T.V. was no longer providing enough distraction. Eddie agreed and started looking through the board games hidden in a cabinet next to the entertainment center.
“This is the one!” Eddie exclaimed triumphantly, returning to the couch with his choice.
“Battleship?” Steve questioned.
“What’s wrong with Battleship?!”
“Nothing at all. I was expecting you to make me play scrabble or something I would be equally terrible at.”
Eddie beamed. “This is way more fun, especially if you provide your own sound effects.”
They took a few minutes to place their boats. True to form, Eddie made a big show out of ensuring that Steve didn’t peek, placing a half folded checkerboard on the table between them as a privacy screen. Although Steve was pretty sure he only did it to make him laugh.
After a few misses (both of them), and a hit (Steve), Eddie became unusually quiet. Since they had broken the ice in the kitchen, he had been keeping up a pretty regular stream of chatter, even during the movie, peppering in fun facts and trivia. Which, come to think of it, usually bothers Steve when Dustin does it, but for some reason with Eddie he didn’t seem to mind.
He was about to ask if anything was wrong, when Eddie finally spoke up.
“Hey, um, I just wanted to thank you for letting me stay here. Sorry, I should have said that hours ago, but I was too busy being a jerk.”
“It’s fine. You had every reason to think I was still the same asshole I used to be.”
“It’s not that, well, it was a little bit that, but also - I don’t know if you remember ‘79? I had just moved here to live with my uncle Wayne not long before, and he got stuck at work when the storm hit. He couldn’t even call to tell me what was going on because the phone lines were knocked out almost right away. I know it was scary for a lot of people but being in a shitty fragile trailer for it, and all alone, as a kid? It was fucking terrifying. So, thanks.”
Steve felt his eyes well up a bit, imagining little 13 year old Eddie all the way across town from 12 year old Steve, completely unknown to each other, but sharing such a similar experience nonetheless. Without thinking, he placed his hand over Eddie’s where it sat on the table, and squeezed.
“I remember. My parents were away then too, like they are now. The wind was so loud, sometimes it would whistle through the attic. I remember thinking it sounded like there were ghosts having a party up there. I hid in my closet with a toy flashlight the whole night. Believe me when I say, I'm glad you’re here.”
It was Steve’s turn to blush for once when he realized their hands were still touching. He took his hand back slowly and cleared his throat.  Eddie did the same, hands twisting together to play with his rings.
“I think that’s why I was so intense earlier. When Wayne finally got home and saw how freaked out I was, he took the time to explain what to do if it ever happened again. I guess I really latched onto that lesson.”
Thunder cracked suddenly and loudly in the distance, making both of them jump, and breaking whatever somber spell had fallen over them with a fit of nervous laughter.
For over an hour they went round after round, as the rain continued to beat against the windows, and Steve couldn’t believe how much fun he was having playing a dumb kids game. While they did, Eddie told him about how he’d met the boys on the first day of school. How he’d noticed Dustin first, because of his Weird Al t-shirt, the one Steve had tried to talk him out of but the kid insisted was cool. The way he knew instantly that he would be taking him and the others under his wing.
Steve shared too, though he had to skirt the truth quite a bit. He talked about showing up at Nancy’s with flowers ready to apologize for something he didn’t even do, when he got cut off by Dustin and roped into looking for his missing cat.
“It was all downhill from there. Suddenly I'm chauffeuring 6 kids to the arcade every Saturday and giving hair tips before the snow ball dance.”
“No shit? That kid really must be something if ‘the hair’ was willing to give up his secrets.”
One minute they were laughing and sharing a smile over the game board, and the next, the lights blinked, sending Steve hurtling straight back to that night in the Byers living room, the first time he’d been forced to fight for his life.
Steve froze, unable to reconcile the reality in front of him and his memories for a brief moment. The lights flickered a few more times and he snapped back to the present, rushing, not to the kitchen where all the candles and flashlights were (where Eddie went), but to the front door where he kept his nail bat hidden in an umbrella stand. He made it back to the living room, heart pounding and breath coming in short gasps, at the same time Eddie did. The other boy’s arms were full of candles and the two flashlights. Their eyes met across the small space for only a second before the lights finally went out for good.
-
The next thing Steve was aware of was Eddie’s voice trying to talk him down from what he slowly realized was a panic attack.
“You need to relax, Steve, you're hyperventilating. Take a deep breath. Come on, breathe with me slow, in and out.” Eddie spoke from a few feet away, hands out in front of him, as if he felt the need to show they were empty. Steve didn’t understand, but he did his best to follow the directions, finding it difficult to stay focused.
Eddie’s gaze kept flicking from Steve’s face to his right hand, and back again. He looked worried. Steve didn’t like that, he preferred it when the other boy smiled at him. He followed the path of Eddie's eyes when he could, and finally realized the problem.
He dropped the bat instantly and stepped away from it, wrapping his arms tightly around himself as he once again tried to breathe normally.
Eddie approached then, using gentle hands to guide Steve back to the couch. He must have finally felt safe now that Steve had dropped his literal weapon!! Oh god, what the fuck had he been thinking? The more he leveled out the more embarrassed he felt. How was he ever going to explain this? Eddie must think he’s a total psychopath now.
The room around them glowed with the light of a dozen or more candles. When had Eddie managed that? Steve couldn’t remember.
When he finally caught his breath and the shaking in his body had subsided, Steve dropped his head into his hands. Everything was fine, everyone was fine. He shoved down the need to race upstairs and find the walkie talkie Dustin had given him.
“Mind telling me what that was all about?” Eddie finally asked.
“Nothing!” Steve snapped, immediately regretting it.
“See, Harrington, here’s the thing. People don’t usually react that way to lights blinking and shit. Normally, I'd let the lie go, because we don’t exactly know each other that well, but, explain to me why I saw Dustin, Mike, and Lucas react almost the same goddamn way when the lights were on the fritz at the school last week? Those three were so on edge that day, I thought they were gonna piss themselves when their characters stumbled across a demogorgon.”
At the mention of the monster he had just been thinking about, Steve snapped his head up to look at Eddie. He expected to find annoyance, or even anger on the other boy’s face, but all he saw was concern. Steve hadn’t known about the incident at school, none of the kids told him. He assumed they were coping better than he was, that maybe because they were so young they were able to bounce back, but it sounds like they have all just been pretending too.
He didn’t realize he was crying silent tears until Eddie laid a hand on his shoulder. At the contact, the dam broke, and a sob was torn from Steve's chest. He felt, more than saw, Eddie's arms wrap around him, holding him tight, and sagged into the embrace. He’s only ever let it all out like this with Robin, and that was different. She’d been there with him in the trenches, at least this last time. She understood. Eddie didn’t even know him before today, not really, but still he was there and really seemed to care. Steve wasn’t used to that.
“What happened to all of you?” Eddie asked, whispering the question into his hair.
Even if he wanted to, Steve couldn't tell him. They signed paperwork, threats were made. Though, did he really need to be worried about that still? The lab didn’t have much of a presence in Hawkins anymore, and after Joyce blew up the gate at Starcourt, it seemed like this whole Upside-Down mess might finally be done for good.
Steve realized with a start that he’s trying to talk himself into it, he wants to tell Eddie, but he’s so scared. It’s not even about the NDA’s anymore, but about opening himself up to another person and being rejected for it. He doesn’t know why he's comparing this tentative friendship with Eddie to when he dated Nancy. It’s not the same, of course it’s not, but still, he remembers how refusing to talk about what happened, how pretending everything was okay, was a big part of what ruined their relationship, and he doesn’t want that to happen here. Still, he hesitated.
“We’re not supposed to talk about it.” Steve answered, pulling back from the hug, though he didn’t really want to.
“You may not know this about me, Harrington, but I'm pretty good at keeping secrets.”
“I think, I would actually really like to talk about it if I could. The only people I have now are the kids, but it feels wrong to burden them with that. I mean, I have Robin but..”
“Buckley too?”
“Yea.”
“Is that why you two are attached at the hip all of the sudden? Some kind of trauma bond?”
Steve nodded, keeping his mouth firmly closed. It was taking everything he had not to spill his guts when he looked into the other boy’s deep brown eyes. How was Eddie having this effect on him?
Eddie considered him for a long time before finally nodding to himself and blowing out a long breath. “I can’t believe I'm going to offer this, but what if I tell you something of mine, one of my secrets, first. Then you’ll have leverage or whatever, to prove I won't tell anyone what you tell me?”
Honestly, Steve was more concerned about Eddie not believing him than about him blabbing, but it’s too good an offer to refuse, and now he’s desperate to know what Eddie's secret is.
“Ok.”
“Now, I’m only telling you this because if you are as close to Buckley as I think you are, you’ll be cool with it. But if it's not.. cool, please just dont tell anyone, ok? You can kick me out or whatever, but I'm not really looking to get murdered before my 21st birthday." Eddie looked nervous suddenly, and it filled Steve with guilt. He should stop him, tell him he doesn’t have to say this, whatever it is.
“I’m gay.” Eddie tossed it out there and very clearly seemed to be bracing himself for the worst.
Steve gaped at first, but pulled himself together quickly, folding his arms around Eddie the same way he had just done for him. “That’s…really great, man. Thank you for telling me.”
Eddie relaxed in his hold, and Steve decided he wouldn't let go first.
Eventually, Eddie pulled back with a smirk. “So, it's great, huh?”
Steve rolled his eyes, but he knew if there was more light in the room Eddie would be able to see that he was blushing furiously.
“I can’t believe you told me that just to make me feel comfortable sharing. I don’t know what to say.” Steve admitted.
Eddie shrugged. “I figured it was a big enough thing that you would accept it in return for telling me what your deal is. Besides, I was pretty sure I could trust you.”
“You can.” Steve quickly assured him.
“So, tell me.”
Steve’s stomach dropped. He’d never given the whole spiel alone before, or really at all. After her baptism by fire, he’d slowly told Robin about their previous battles in bits and pieces, whenever they shared a sleepless night, and even then, Dustin had come along later and filled in some of the gaps.
“You might not believe me.” It probably sounded like bullshit, or like he was trying to get out of their agreement, but Steve had to say it.
Eddie was not deterred. “Try me.”
There’s nowhere to start but the beginning, Steve thought, and took a deep breath.
“Do you remember when Will Byers went missing a couple years ago?”
“Of course. The boys talk about him almost as much as they talk about you. He moved to California right?”
“Yeah. We’ll get to that, but there's a lot to cover before that part of the story.”
Eddie leaned back into the couch, getting comfortable and waving a hand to encourage Steve to carry on.
He began in fits and starts, and confused the timeline at least once when he described the events of 1983, but the longer he spoke the easier it came. Eddie was attentive, but didn’t ask any questions, and didn't interrupt until he mentioned the fight with Billy Hargrove when he defended Lucas, and even then he only gasped. Eddie patiently let Steve get his story out however he needed to. When he got to Starcourt, and the torture he endured at the hands of the Russians, he heard Eddie sniffle and looked up to see tears shining in the other boy’s eyes. Eddie reached out for Steve's hand, and didn't let go.
“El took it really hard. Hopper had really just become her dad and then she lost him. Joyce took her in and moved the four of them to California for a fresh start. It’s hard to have them so far away, for the kids especially, but I know Nancy misses Jonathan too. I don’t blame her though, Joyce, she's doing what she can to protect her kids and I can respect that. At this point, I'm just trying to figure out how to live again, for the third time, now that it’s all over.”
When Steve was finally done, Eddie still remained silent. It made him squirm, desperate to know what he was thinking.
“So, on a scale of 1-10, how much of that did you believe?” Steve asked when he couldn't take it anymore.
“Every word.” Eddie said, sounding completely serious.
“What?!”
Eddie turned more fully to face him and took Steve’s other hand, now holding both of them, in both of his. “Steve, you’re traumatized enough that I would have probably believed if for that alone, but honestly the dead give away was the detail. No offense, but I don't believe you are creative enough to have made all of that up, and all the D&D references? There's no way you know that much about the game. No way.”
Steve cracked a smile. “Oh yeah? Is that all?”
Eddie returned the smile but his eyes looked sad. “I remember all those times you got your pretty face bashed in, Harrington. This.. explanation, almost makes more sense than the rumors. Jesus, you’re still carrying some evidence of what was apparently Russian fucking torture. I..”
Steve surged forward abruptly, barreling into him. “Thank you for believing me.”
Eddie laughed, and they were pressed so close together that Steve could feel the low rumble of it in his chest. It made him shiver.
“Henderson is going to be so pissed that I told you.” Steve joked.
“He doesn't have to know that you told me. I was serious before, I can keep a secret.”
Steve shook his head. “It might be good for them to have another adult around who knows. We’re awfully short of them these days.”
“And you're sure it’s…over?”
“Pretty sure, yeah. El doesn’t have her powers anymore, so she can’t open a gate, the lab is gone, and we destroyed the one at Starcourt so…”
Comically, the lights that had been off for over two hours chose that exact moment to flicker on and then off again.
“Well, I'm never going to sleep again.” Eddie declared.
“Welcome to the club, Munson.”
-
They spent the rest of the night lying together on the couch quietly listening to the wind and the rain. For the first time for Steve, and he suspects for Eddie also, the sound was soothing and not fear-inducing. Their hands had remained clasped long after they were done talking, and as the hour got late, and they sunk further into the couch together, their arms and legs became intertwined too.
At some point, Steve realized Eddie fell asleep. He let himself gaze at the other boy in a way he never would have allowed himself if he was being watched. He looked so pretty like that in the candlelight, face relaxed. Very gently so as not to wake him, Steve pushed a bit of his hair back, admiring the way Eddie's long dark eyelashes brushed his cheek. Something seized in his chest and Steve sucked in a sharp breath. He’s never looked at a guy like this before, never felt this way about another boy. He should probably be freaking out about that a little more than he was, right?
He paused to look inside himself, and tried to drudge up the panic he thought he should feel in this moment, but found very little. He’s liked a lot of people in his life, and felt like he could always find something to love about a person, something beautiful or interesting. It didn’t matter if they were a girl or a boy. He just always assumed when he liked a boy it was in a friendly way. Maybe he was wrong.
He smiled to himself, realizing that Robin was going to be so mad that he’s accepted this new thing about himself so readily and completely without her assistance. Steve looked down again and found Eddie still fast asleep. He leaned down to press the lightest kiss on his forehead, before carefully extracting himself from the couch to blow the candles out. He didn’t want to move but it was too dangerous to fall asleep with them lit. When it was done, he didn’t even consider going up to his bedroom, instead he curled back up beside Eddie on the couch and let out a contented sigh.
And maybe the peace he felt in this moment was temporary, maybe he’ll panic about it later when he does tell Robin what he’s realized, but for right now he’s just happy to lay there, gazing into the face of the pretty boy who, in the course of one evening, had wrapped himself tightly around Steve's heart.

Teenage Kicks
summary: it's 1993, you and eddie both work at the mall and have a friendly not so friendly rivalry going on, really you're just messing with each other until someone calls chicken w/c: 2,777 warnings: kissing, swearing, public make outs, mentions of shitty parents a/n: so i've had two weeks from hell but i should be back on track, i actually really loved writing this because 90s nostalgia is my jam (even if i was only a wee thing in the 90s). as always if you enjoyed this please leave a comment, a reblog, come into my inbox and say hey, whatever floats your boat
Tumblr media
(moodboard by me)
Hawkins Indiana in 1993 was not that much different than the same town in 1983 Eddie thought to himself as he packed out tapes and CDs. All that's really changed in the last ten years or so is how the youth buy their music, when he'd been little it was all vinyl records and tapes had only just started to appear on the market.
He remembers his uncle calling them a fad and saying that nothing would ever come close to experiencing music on a 12 inch disc. Now it seemed as though vinyl was on its way out once and for all as more and more people wanted tapes they could play in their cars or on their portable radios. Granted the battery life in those kinds of radios was nothing to write home about but still it meant not having to drag a whole record player with you whenever you wanted to go someplace and listen to music with your friends.
The mall too had gotten busier in the last ten years, sure there'd been an outcry from residents and small business owners when the place first opened, but now the place was full of customers from every facet of life in hawkins.
Hawkins Indiana was split into two sides, ask anyone who lived there and they'll tell you  the same. There was the affluent side of the  town, huge houses with more rooms than inhabitants, monuments to capitalism, kids who shopped exclusively in the Gap and wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything from the sale or clearance ailes.
Then there was the other side of Hawkins, modest working class family homes, folks struggling to pay the rent or their bills and of course Forest Hills Trailer Park where the so-called dregs of society wound up. Eddie himself being one of those 'dregs' but he'd been called worse and most of the insults that got thrown at him tended to bounce right off the almost impenetrable armour he'd built around himself. You do what you can to survive in a small town when you're markedly different from your peers.
The only person who ever managed to get under Eddie's skin and stay there was Hot Topic Girl. She had a name of course and Eddie knew her first and foremost by that name, especially since he was accustomed to hearing it screamed from a trailer window at ungodly hours of the day and night. What got under his skin about her was that she seemed to find it so easy to push his buttons and rejoiced in doing so.
➽───────────────❥
It was shaping up to be another day of selling N'Sync and Backstreet Boys CDs to Yuppies for Eddie when a woman about the same age as his uncle walked into the store and made a beeline for him,
"Is your name Eddie?" she asked seemingly breathless, "I was told to ask for Eddie"
"That's me, how can I help ma'am?" Eddie was approaching this conversation with trepidation, people usually didn't ask for him by name unless they already knew him. Either from buying music before or from his band,
"The girl in Hot Topic said you could help me find a record" the woman said, "I've been looking for it for months for my sister in Idaho and I was told you'd have it"
"By the girl in Hot Topic?" Eddie asked, just to be clear on who he was going to hold responsible for this when the transaction was over. He gave some descriptors to the woman to make sure they were talking about the same person,
"Yes that's her! She told me to come straight here and ask for Eddie and that you could help me"
Eddie grit his teeth and balled his fists by his side. No doubt this woman was going to be a nightmare customer and it was yet another way for Hot Topic to screw with him,
"What record are you after ma'am and I can see if we have it"
"It's Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn live in Nashville in 75"
Of course it was. Fucking country music.
➽───────────────❥
Sometime that afternoon while you were folding shirts left in disarray by the horde of teens who'd passed through earlier that morning you were alerted to someone clearing their throat, and older man probably slightly older than your mother was standing at the counter with a sour expression on his face,
"Do you work here?" he asked sharply, "because I have been standing here for twenty minutes and no one has come to help me"
"My apologies sir, I didn't realise you needed my assistance" you smiled sweetly, falsely, at the man and made your way back over to the counter, "how can I help you?"
"The boy in the music store said you would have something I require"
"The boy in the music store huh? Let me guess about yay high, curly hair, looks like a degenerate?" Eddie was getting his revenge it seemed for the woman you'd sent his way earlier, "what is it you require sir and I can certainly check?"
The man went on to explain in great detail exactly what he was looking for and you did your best to school your features so he wouldn't see how irritated you were by his presence alone. You had to give it to Eddie,  he had picked the most annoying person on the planet to send your way.
When you eventually did get the man the items he required and sent him on his way it was time for your shift to end. Good riddance to the mall and shitty customers for another day, as you passed the music store on your way out you made sure to flip Eddie off knowing full well he could see you through the windows.
➽───────────────❥
It usually went on like that, you and Eddie making each other miserable with customers or ragging on each other when you passed in person. Some people just didn't seem to understand the relationship you had with the metalhead, sure you were both in the 'alternative' category, you listened to similar music although you tended to skew more punk or grunge as opposed to Eddie's metal although there was no denying that stuff like Metallica, Korn, Guns N Roses and especially Rage Against the Machine went hard.
You just enjoyed getting under Eddie's skin to tell the truth, there was something adorable about him scowling at you over the food court or plotting as he stocked out CDs. Sure you had a massive crush on the guy, probably since middle school when he'd played in the school talent show but that didn't mean you couldn't mess with him a little. Or well a lot.
➽───────────────❥
You didn't usually work the evening shifts, needing to be home before dark most days for reasons you'd only disclosed to the manager who'd hired you. You didn't want anyone pitying you or worse if they knew that the reason you wanted to be home before your mother was so you could ferret away as much cash as you could without her or her boyfriend of the hour noticing. You were saving to get out of Hawkins once and for all, to live a better life somewhere.
However it would seem that the gods laugh at the plans mortals make because not only was your mother and her boyfriend aware of your stash they'd taken it all and simply left you nothing but a few dollar bills and some loose change. They'd run off to get married somewhere and taken both your money and your car with them.
So you'd agreed to do as many double shifts as you could to try and rebuild your nest egg up to something close to what it used to be. Which was where you currently were, the closing announcements were playing over the Mall's PA system and any last minute stragglers were making their way out, parents headed home to their families, teenagers heading to a party, carefree with no responsibilities to hold them down. So you went about your closing duties, counting the register, putting stuff back in its proper places where someone had picked something up and discarded it somewhere else, you really hadn't expected the phone to ring and so when it did you almost jumped out of your skin,
"Thank you for calling Hot Topic Hawkins, we're currently closed - " you didn't even get to finish before a familiar voice came down the line,
"I thought that was you, what's up? You never close"
"We all have our reasons for the things we do, Munson, what's it to you?"
"Bite my head off why don't you? Can't a guy ask a question?"
You sighed into the phone, you hadn't meant to be so snappy with him, you were just exhausted from everything that was going on recently. Eddie was probably the one person who'd actually understand what you were going through right now,
"My mom and her stupid boyfriend took all my savings and went to get married somewhere, and they took my car so I had to get the bus this morning"
"Shit that fucking sucks. Did they get everything?"
"Apart from like five bucks and some change, yeah they cleaned me out. Everything I've been working for gone"
There was silence on the other end of the line and then Eddie spoke again,
"You need a ride?"
You could have jumped for joy. The buses didn't run this late at night after the mall closed and you really really didn't want to walk the ten or so miles in the dark,
"Yeah, Eddie, that would be great. Just let me finish up here"
"Oh I see how it is. It's Munson until you need something then it's Eddie" there was no malice to his tone and you couldn't help but laugh,
"I mean if it's too much trouble I could probably ask that Hargrove guy in the sports store. He lives in the trailer park too"
"Absolutely fucking not. That dude is just as likely to try and date rape you or some shit. I'll finish up here and wait on you"
You both hung up, which gave you time to fly through your closing duties and at least attempt to fix your appearance in the little mirror hanging in the back room for employees before you saw Eddie. He was giving you a ride because he was heading the same way that was it you were sure of it. Still you didn't want to look entirely awful sitting next to him.
Pulling the shutter down as you left the store you saw Eddie leaning up against the wall next to you with his keys in his hands,
"You ready?"
"Yup, if the place burns down now it's not on me"
"Cool, you hungry? I was gonna swing through McDonalds on the way home"
"Eddie I - "
"On me, since you're broke and all"
The way he spoke left no room for arguments so you simply followed him out to the parking lot where his van was sitting. Eddie made a show of opening the door for you and clearing out some of the trash. His over the top spiel kept you laughing the entire ride, he was charismatic and funny and so easy to talk to.
When you'd both collected your food Eddie drove for a while before coming to a stop at a cliff top overlooking the town, it was a pretty popular make out spot and lovers lane for teens so it wasn't like you were the only ones there. As you both ate you laughed at the squeaking backseat of cars and the steamed up windows around you, the windows of the van themselves steaming up from the food.
It was so easy to talk to Eddie, even though this was your first full conversation that didn't include name calling or worse, it felt so natural like you'd known each other all your lives. You talked about music, about culture, about everything, admittedly with some arguing thrown in for good measure,
"Kurt Cobain is a hack!"
"You take that back!"
"As if! The guy can't play for shit and his lyrics make no fucking sense"
"Oh ok because exit light, enter night makes so much fucking sense"
"The song is called Enter Sandman! It makes total sense"
"You're so wrong Munson like on a fundamental level"
"Oh so it's back to Munson now? What happened to Eddie?" There was a shift in the atmosphere of the van when he said that and suddenly the conversation wasn't about differences in musical taste anymore, if it had ever been.
Eddie grinned at you as you rolled your eyes at him, if that's the game he wanted to play then you had no problem following his lead,
"I dunno, maybe if you're super nice to me it'll come back" you said leaning over the centre console to steal one of his fries
"What if I'm not nice?" Eddie watched your mouth as you spoke his eyes not leaving your lips for a second,
"What if I don't want you to be?"
That was all it took before Eddie grabbed you by the front of your shirt and pulled you against him. Lips crashing against each other in a frantic kiss. Your hands buried in his dark curls, tugging on them every so often eliciting a groan from Eddie and allowing you to lick into his mouth.
It was all tongues and teeth, hands grabbing onto anything they could reach, time seemed to move slowly, almost as if it had stopped completely and all that mattered was the feeling of Eddie's lips on yours and his broad calloused hands sneaking under your shirt, caressing the expanse of your stomach.
You broke apart at the sound of a loud bang on the drivers side window, as Eddie rolled it down you were both met with the face of Hawkins Chief of Police Jim Hopper shining his flashlight into the van,
"Evening Chief" Eddie grinned, "how can we help?"
"You can pack it up and move along. I don't care what you're up to but it can't be here"
"We were just having something to eat, just got off work" you explained batting your eyelashes at the older man, "closing shift in the mall really takes it out of you"
The Chief just sighed. He knew you both worked in the mall, you'd seen him with his daughter and her friends enough times to know he knew exactly what you both did for employment,
"Well I'm sure you're both ready to get going then, looks like you're all done to me" he gestured with his flashlight to the empty wrappers and drinks, "y'all get home safe now"
"Of course chief" Eddie smiled before throwing the van into drive and making sure to give the chief a wave before leaving the spot altogether.
The closer you got to the trailer park the more your mood fell. You'd had an amazing time with Eddie but now you had to leave, your mom and stepdad as you had to call him now were probably at home already which meant they'd be drunk and you'd end up pushing everything you could think of in front of your door to keep them out while you looked for a new hiding place for your money.
As Eddie pulled up outside his own trailer he leant over again and grabbed your hand in his own,
"It's gonna be ok"
"Thanks but you don't know that"
"Yeah I do, you're my girl now. I'm gonna make sure you're ok"
"Your girl? That's awfully presumptuous of you Munson" you laughed, you really hadn't expected him to say that. One time making out in his van and now you guys were dating? Is that really all it took,
"Don't act like you haven't been flirting with me this whole time" he grinned, "I know you weren't just messing with me"
"Hmm maybe" you returned his grin with one of your own, "but I'm not telling" you hopped out of the van and made your way back to where your own trailer was sitting, "you'll have to stick around and find out"
"Oh you are never getting rid of me now sweetheart"
"I'm counting on it"
That night as you lay in bed and listened to the sounds from outside your window you thought to yourself for the first time in a very long time that, yeah actually, things might actually be ok from now on. Now you had Eddie.

When Life Tears You Asunder, But You’re Not Alone
(Chapter: 1/17)
Tumblr media
Warnings/tags: Found family, implied Wayne/Susan in future chapters, Max & Eddie have a sibling like relationship, fluff, hurt/comfort
Word count: 1417 Summary: Billy was a pretty shitty brother, there was no denying it, but Max still finds herself mourning for the sibling relationship they never got to have. With him gone she thinks so are her chances of ever having the big brother figure she’s always wanted. Then in a turn of events that she never saw coming, Eddie Munson waltzes into her life. Or more like, almost runs her over. Notes: Co-written with @ladydorian05 and cross-posted on AO3. Updates every Friday.
Masterlist
-----------
It would be rather ironic, Max thinks, that after all the crazy things she has survived it’ll be a van whilst she’s crossing the street that finally takes her out.
The van skids to a stop a few inches away from her and the breaks screech loudly in protest. She doesn’t intend on stopping, her heart pounding in her chest from the near miss as she hurries to skate away with her head down. She was partially to blame, she had been paying more attention to the music playing through her walkman than she had to her surroundings as she skated towards home.
“Red?!” She recognizes that voice and even if she hadn’t there’s only one person who calls her that. She pulls the headphones off her ears and lets them hang around her neck. Sure enough there he is, hanging out the driver's side window of the van when she turns around.
“Eddie?”
“Jesus Christ, kid. You came out of nowhere, nearly gave me a heart attack.”
“Sorry.”
He sighs and rubs one hand over his face whilst holding the steering wheel with the other and then to her surprise asks, “Want a ride?”
She thinks back to all those times she’s had it lectured into her not to accept rides from strangers, let alone ones who have been accused of half the things Eddie has been accused of. But Eddie wasn’t a stranger, not anymore, and he hadn’t done any of those awful things the entire town had been so set on accusing him of. She accepts in the end, telling herself it’s only because it’s looked like rain for the past hour and she really doesn’t want to get caught in it without a jacket.
It’s a 10-minute drive back to the trailer park. Despite living opposite each other this is the longest they’ve ever hung out without the potential end of the world looming over them. They don’t speak. It’s awkward, but not completely unpleasant. There’s no hostility hanging heavy in the air as there had been so many times whenever Billy was begrudgingly forced to drive her someplace.
She turns her head to look out of the window to her right, watching as the first fat droplets of rain start to splatter against the glass. Eddie turns up the volume on the stereo, letting the sound of some obscure metal band Max has never heard of, not that she has heard of many, fill the silence.
Max hops out of the van when Eddie stops outside of her trailer. They share a brief goodbye before she rushes into her trailer to escape the rain that continues to fall. Eddie leaves to park his van in front of the trailer he and his uncle had so graciously been gifted by the government as part of the deal Owens had spun when clearing Eddie’s name.
They were lucky in a way, that the trailer had been the only casualty. Eddie had spent weeks in the hospital but ultimately recovered with no physical side effects other than some scarring. Max had escaped with only a broken arm and the very real possibility of needing glasses before the end of her teenage years.
Max thinks that will be the end of it once Eddie has dropped her off outside her trailer, that they’ll go back to the silent understanding they’ve existed in since their run-in with the upside-down some 4 months ago now. Occasionally he will wave at her from across the street and she’ll nod at him in acknowledgment and that will be the extent of their interaction.
The universe has other ideas.
The power going out at the trailer park is nothing unusual. It happens at least once a week and Max had gotten used to it rather soon after they had moved in. It usually isn’t much of a problem, it’ll be out for an hour or so, come back on and then everything carries on as usual. It does become a problem when it goes out on Sunday evening and Max wakes on Monday to realize she had forgotten to reset her alarm clock.
She slams the door behind her in her haste as she rushes out having haphazardly thrown on the first items of clothing pulled from her wardrobe in between brushing her teeth and pulling her hair back into a ponytail. Her mom has already left for work, she’s missed the bus and she’s about to be late for the first day of sophomore year.
Her eyes fall on the trailer Eddie shares with his uncle across the street. Wayne’s car is nowhere to be seen, but Eddie’s van is there. She takes a deep breath, her expression hardening as she marches over, skateboard in hand and backpack slung over one shoulder.
“Eddie!” She yells pounding her fist against the door with a little more force when he doesn’t answer, “Are you in there!?”
It takes another 30 seconds for the door to swing open, revealing Eddie who looks like he’s just woken up. His hair is a mess and he’s barefoot, wearing a pair of cotton pajama pants and a baggy t-shirt.
“I swear to god, Red.” He grumbles, rubbing one of his eyes with the palm of his hand, “You better be here to tell me the world’s about to end again.”
“I’m late for school.” She says, straightening her shoulders as she stares him down hoping to appear a lot more confident than she feels. Eddie seems like a good guy, but she’s still a little cautious. She doesn’t know him as well as Dustin and the others do.
“And what do you want me to do about it?”
“Drive me.”
"Since when did I become your personal driver?" He asks. He’s pretending to sound offended, but the tilt of his head and amusement curling at the edges of his voice gives him away.
"Since you almost ran me over last week.” She narrows her eyes at him and he matches her expression, “Are you going to drive me or not?”
Eddie doesn’t say anything right away and they stand there in the doorway to his trailer, eyes locked in an unspoken challenge both silently willing the other to break first. Max wins.
“Alright, fine.” Eddie relinquishes, “Give me a minute.”
He disappears into the trailer, leaving the door open behind him. He returns with keys in hand wearing a pair of white sneakers, his hair is still untamed and he’s still dressed in the same t-shirt and pajama pants he’d answered the door in.
“You owe me for this.” He says when she hops into the passenger seat of his van beside him, “I don’t even go to school anymore!”
The drive to school isn’t as awkward as the last time Eddie had offered her a ride. Eddie does most of the talking, but it’s better than the silence that had fallen over them previously.
She doesn’t ask him to pick her up, but when she walks out of school at 3 pm she’s greeted with the sight of his beat-up old van waiting for her.
It becomes a routine. She shows up on his porch every morning at 7 am sharp from Monday to Friday, he drives her to school, then drives her home at 3 pm. He’s driving by anyway on his way to and from work, so it just makes sense, he had explained to her on the second day. The excuses he makes to be heading to and from town on his days off make less sense, but Max doesn’t call him out on it. She appreciates the kindness and somewhere along the way they form an unlikely kind of friendship.
They don’t talk about what happened back in March, about the upside-down, or Vecna, or flesh-eating Demobats, it’s an unspoken agreement they have right from the start. Mostly they talk about the music Eddie starts introducing her to on their daily drives to and from the school, “I think you’re really going to like this one, Red!” He claims every time he brings along a new cassette. He’s usually right. Occasionally they’ll find other topics of conversation, Eddie's job at the auto repair shop downtown which he had miraculously landed after graduation, or how Max’s day at school went. Eddie can always rely on her to keep him updated on all of the party’s latest antics.
Max, though she would never admit it, starts to understand what Dustin sees in him.

1. Do you enjoy being surrounded by neighbors, or would you be more comfortable someplace secluded? I feel like being somewhere secluded would affect me negatively. I like the vibe where I currently live, where I have neighbors but none of us feel the pressure to talk with one another and keep up ties and such.
2. Is there any sibling rivalry between you and your siblings, if you have any? I don’t think it counts as a ‘rivalry’ as it denotes some sort of active competition, but I’m not on speaking terms with my brother due to something he did a few years back.
3. Do you usually root for the good guys or the bad guys? It depends on the character. I usually do find the bad guys irritating which is a testament to their execution, but sometimes there are just villains who are so good at being bad I can’t help but root for them - like Walter White and Gus Fring from Breaking Bad, and to some extent even The Governor from The Walking Dead.
4. Are you allowed to have pets at your house? Yeah, my parents own the place so we have three dogs.
5. Have you ever lived in a trailer park? No.
6. Is there anyone that you know through the internet that you would feel comfortable meeting in person? My circle of internet friends has drastically shrunk over the years and out of the few ones I remain to have, I’d really only be comfortable meeting Aliyah.
7. Have you ever had a dream involving characters from a game/movie/television show? I rarely remember my dreams but I’m sure that has already occurred before.
8. Do you ever have dreams about people you have never even seen before? Sure. I once had a dream where I had a daughter, even though I’ve never seen whoever that baby girl was before. There was another dream of mine (it was more of a nightmare, though) where I had to witness a loved one getting shot, and I wasn’t familiar with who the perpetrator was.
9. What’s the last thing you wrote down? I had to think of a mock-up for a social media card we were planning to pitch to a client and it was just harder to describe the asset to my associate in words, so I ended up doodling the envisioned material and writing some details on it for her better understanding.
10. Do you remember any phone numbers from years ago that now belong to someone you don’t know? I don’t think so.
11. How often does your household get numbers for the wrong people? Not very often; maybe once every few months. It probably helps that not a lot of people use landline anymore.
12. Have you ever found something strange in your mailbox? We don’t have a mailbox, but generally we’ve never received anything weird.
13. Is there anything specific you need to do within the next week? Just some work-related deadlines I have to accomplish.
14. What was the last movie you got from Netflix [if you use it]? I’m not sure what you mean by ‘got,’ but the last movie I saw was called A Hard Day, but it was the Filipino version coming from the original South Korean film. I watched it with my parents this morning.
15. Are you annoyed by the increase in prices for Netflix? My dad pays the monthly subscription for our family so it doesn’t affect me.
16. Who was the last relative that came to visit you? My grandma and one of my cousins came over for my brother’s birthday.
17. Does your bedding all match? Yep.
18. Are you having company over the weekend? Nopes. I only have friends come over whenever there’s an online concert we wanna watch together, and there’s none of that happening this weekend.
19. Do people come to you a lot with their problems? Not a lot, but my friends will sometimes come to me if they want to rant or need advice on something, yes.
20. Have you/would you ever consider teaching as a career? I don’t think I ever wanted to be a teacher, even as a kid.
21. Are you most comfortable with having short hair or long hair? Ultimately, shorter.
22. Do you usually cut your hair short in the summer? Nah, my schedule when it comes to having my hair trimmed is always random.
23. Are you interested in fantasy movies/shows? No, it’s one of my least favorite genres.
24. Have you ever gone whale-watching? I think we’ve tried it before? but it wasn’t too successful. I was able to see some dolphins, though.
25. What is something that you have a large amount of? K-pop freebies (mostly replicards, stickers, and thank you notes) from all the shops I’ve purchased from over the last few months.

Finn Morton
Tumblr media
TW: Adult themes, Mentions of Trafficking, drugs, sexual violence, ect.
Came from a long line of fuck ups. He swore he be the first in his family to graduate college. He stopped talking to most of his family when he decided to go to film school. When he got accepted, a lot of his family teased him for trying too hard or they would make comments to make Finn feel bad like, “You must think you’re better than us.”. The problem for Finn was that he was an extremely creative individual, but he was also a huge stoner. Influenced from a young age by older cousins or other kids in the trailer park they lived in. There was no real need to hide their habits because pretty much everyone around them were all either drunks or stoners. Some even got into harder drugs. Finn didn’t have the best parents. They treated him more like a friend than a young mind that they should have been nurturing. Therefore, it was a miracle that he even got himself out of the park to begin with.
Finn spent a lot of time and what little he had for cash on smoking weed. So much so that, already in his first semester of college, he struggled to maintain decent attendance. Ultimately tanking his grades. It wasn’t long before he needed to find himself a job to support his habit and also kept him fed. While his scholarships covered most of his schooling, he still needed to eat. It wasn’t even a month into his second semester when he dropped out fully and found himself begging a friend he had made in school to let him rent a room. He refused to go back to his family, ashamed that he failed to do what he set out to. Pride kept him from returning home.
He did manage to get his friend to let him stay while he worked his part time job at a convenience store that was within walking distance. Finn was living the life for a while. All he had to do was work, pay a little room rent, feed himself, smoke, play video games, sleep, repeat. He was satisfied. Usually. There were days that bummed him out. Days where his creativity would flow but he would quickly quell the passion he felt for creating because it reminded him that he was not even good enough to go after his most desired dreams. Depression was a bedfellow Finn knew way too well. Sometimes, even weed couldn’t fix that.
Aside from that, life was pretty good. That was, until his roommate told him that the lease was ending soon and that he was moving out so Finn would have to find a new place. Finn was so used to living in the moment. He never planned for a move or any kind of emergency for that matter. He had very little money, no savings. He realized he would have to conserve the next few paychecks and figure something out. By the time Finn had to leave, he still couldn’t afford an actual place to rent so he took to staying in Motel rooms for the next few years. He even managed to see a little bit of the country because he would hitch hike and usually get truckers to pick him up to bring him to someplace new. Aside from the motel hopping and the crazy shit he had seen from some of the people staying in those motels, the travelling was kind of nice.
Finn had seen some shit in his travels. He even once saw the DEA bust a meth lab at one of the motels he stayed at. Finn was particularly lucky to have not gotten caught up in some of the stuff going on around him. But he wasn’t so lucky one night when he was once again, trying to hitch a ride at a truck stop to get to a new place to sleep. While he was attempting to get a ride at the entrance of the stop, a group of 3 men came up to him. He didn’t notice at first. Not until one of the guys grabbed Finn by the hair to get his attention. He was really confused when the guy asked him to empty his pockets and his bags. Everything he owned, thrown onto the ground and rifled through by three strangers. They took what little cash he had, the little bit of weed he had left and a few other things. Everything else they stepped on or threw to the ground to break it really leaving Finn with nothing. To add insult to injury (or vice versa, in this case) the three men beat Finn up, the biggest one punched him in the gut, doubling him over. He was left to lay there on the cold pavement while they walked away with the things they saw value in. Finn had hit rock bottom, he thought. It was the first time he did wish he was home. His family may not be the most wholesome group but he wasn’t doing much better for himself and he, at least, knew that they would accept him as he was no matter what. He felt like the biggest loser in the world then.
Little did he know that a woman had seen what was happening from the truck stop’s coffee shop window. She was the only one in the shop at the time so the guys must not have really seen her and so she did not intervene as to not put herself in danger. Now that the guys were gone though, she slowly walked out. Quietly. She didn’t want to startle Finn who she predicted might have a few broken ribs. She said a soft “Hey…”. Finn was crying. That much was evident. The woman got closer. She knelt beside Finn and gently rubbed his back. His cries got louder. He didn’t know who was trying to comfort him. He just knew that he was a mess and he wanted to do nothing more than to leave his body behind and run far away from here. The woman stayed with him for a while. Finn eventually gained some composure and let the woman help him to his feet. Finn was a bit embarrassed. “Sorry… You didn’t have to come help me. I would have been okay, I’m sure.” The woman gave him a sheepish grin as she swept the hair from his face. “There’s no way I could have just left you like that…. Do you have a name?” Finn stared at her for a moment before a wave of pain swept through his abdomen. He fell forward into her, forcing her to prop him up. The woman put his arm around her neck and walked him to a car nearby. “Let’s get you checked out at the ER. We can discuss more later.”
They got in the car and drove off. Finn grimaced at every breath he took but between the groans and sighs he managed to say, “Finn…. That’s my… name.”. The woman smiled. “Finn. I love that name.” She was silent for a minute as they continued toward the hospital. When she did speak, she offered her own name. “I’m Alexis.”

Eleanor Stone, who later renamed herself Lennox Stone, was born in Dallas, Texas to a drug addict. She was very clingy with her mother and had intense separation anxiety, likely due to her mother leaving her alone as early as five years old for one, sometimes two nights, in a row. When she was alone, she’d play the little keyboard in her bedroom, familiarizing herself with the notes eventually and teaching herself, later, to play keyboard. Ellie, her mother called her at that age, slept in her bed with her at night, and her mother believed that Ellie played the card really well of being ‘scared’ to do things by herself, when in actuality, Eleanor was scared. Did she sometimes manipulate because of that? Yes. But at her core was deeply ingrained fear that her mother would leave her forever. The only thing she knew about her father was that he was dead. She only found out in her young teenage years that he took his life, and was an alcoholic, after looking him up and meeting up with a living relative.
One night, Eleanor’s mother had an accidental overdose and showed up with Eleanor at her side at the neighbor’s doorstep. Her mother proceeded to have a seizure right there, with the seven year old girl looking on. The neighbors called an ambulance and they arrived, a social worker meeting them at the hospital. Several calls to CPS had already been made due to strange behavior going on with Eleanor’s mother, and she’d seen people come in and question her mother. Nothing came of it then, but this was the final call.
She believed for a long time that she was wrongly ripped from her mother at a young age, but it was only later that she came to have feelings of hate for her biological mother. Seven years old and withdrawn, she was mute for a year at her foster home. She said nothing to her foster mom, but would talk at school and to the therapists and to her foster dad. She manipulated him often, and ignored her new mom completely. Truthfully it was too painful to have a new mom. She told the therapist everything was fine. Nonetheless, her foster parents gave her up, and she went on to her second home at eight and a half years old. She stayed with them for three years. At nine, she would cut her wrists just to feel something. Her foster parents believed it was an act of manipulation, but it wasn’t at all. This time, she responded to therapy and stopped cutting her wrists for the most part, though she sometimes does even to this day when things are really bad. At ten, she had night terrors and would wake up screaming horrifically. She had moments where she would stare emptily, or just stop talking mid-sentence, and it scared both of her foster parents. Again, manipulation or acting--’faking’-- was suspected. She was later diagnosed with depression and reactive attachment disorder.
At eleven, she got into her parents’ liquor cabinet and in a fit of rage smashed all the bottles, cutting her feet accidentally as she tried to leave the kitchen, and her parents found her, horrified, blood and glass all over the floor. She, luckily, didn’t have an infection when they rushed her to the hospital with nasty cuts and open wounds all over her feet and knees.
She would scream out for her mom at night, and when her foster mom came to her side, Eleanor pushed her aside and screamed in her face. She said, “Fuck you! You aren’t my real mom!” They frequently cried at night, at wits end with this child who they had welcomed in their home who wouldn’t bond with them. They finally came to think that they weren’t suited to be her parents, and it was with a heavy heart that they stopped being her parents and she went on to the next home.
Eleven and a half, she found a permanent home--well, permanent until she aged out of the foster system at sixteen, and decided instead of staying with them, she’d start her life somewhere else, and picked a random place. While the time lasted, anyway, it was for the first time that Eleanor was able to bond with a foster family. They had a cat that she loved and a baby boy. So, why, did they want her? Well, they told her---because they had lost a child a few years ago, and they felt something when they first saw Eleanor. They felt that they intensely wanted to give her a good home.
She thrived with them for the first couple of years, getting involved in music, fine tuning her skills on the keyboard, and branching out to other instruments, feeling like she was finally good at something, even had a natural talent for it.
She began getting into alcohol and smoking marijuana at fourteen. They found it in her room and questioned her about it, not upset at all, very gentle. It was due to their gentle parenting that she decided to quit what she herself even believed was acting out. At least in that way. She still went out at night a lot without telling anybody, just needing to escape. She would mostly walk by herself, but she had one good guy friend, Matthew, who would be awake whenever she called. Eleanor fell in love with him and he fell in love with her. They were together for two years. During that time span she had found out the truth about her father, that he had been an alcoholic and had ended his life. She had enough of Texas. Her parents assured her she had a place with them for as long as and whenever she wanted it, but she left without a proper goodbye. She called them a month later to let them know where she was. She was staying at a friend’s house (someone she’d met and partied with upon landing in Roswell--they knew each other a week before she moved from her motel into their apartment.) She and the other female quickly began a romance, full of drama. She began questioning a lot about herself. Playing around with her identity. Who she was. What she liked. What she believed. But mostly, she was reckless, restless, and impulsive.
Seventeen, she changed her name unofficially from Eleanor to Lennox, left her girlfriend, and became apart of a group who were forming a band, moving back and forth from place to place. She’d become even more musical, and it had become a discipline for her, even; it was the one thing she felt like she was good at, and she took it seriously. It was and is really the only way she can express herself. And she loves the bass guitar, and can also play drums and piano. She felt like it was a good release for her anger. It was then that she found Cyrus, and the two formed a toxic relationship, almost always fighting. She had genuine feelings for him and probably still does, but the relationship wasn’t healthy in nearly any sort of way, and she didn’t feel she could handle that kind of thing anyway. Even though inside she hated being alone, felt this gaping hole in her heart when she was, that gaping hole didn’t take long--that emptiness didn’t take long--before it swallowed her whole again, even when she was right there in someone’s arms. Maybe the echoes of her childhood catching up with her?
She’s a tortured soul, feels like she’s lived way longer than her twenty-four years, and the “accidental deaths” that happened when the band was hanging around in mosh pits utterly ruined her. She beats herself up for it everyday, even if it couldn’t have been her fault. She still asks herself, is it my fault in someway, indirectly? She misses Cyrus. Now using music to get to him, even going off on her own and creating a hauntingly angry solo song that was leaked accidentally, showcasing her talent in a way that no one had quite seen before--who knew she could sing, or play the piano so well. And just when they’re working on creating their fifth album. But she was always known, even in childhood, to cause problems. And she did so in Graveyard. Frequently. Acting out, not showing up to meetings, or showing up late, or high. Lennox spends a lot of her days doing drugs and drinking alcohol, finds difficulty in getting through most days without them in some form, and she’s definitely rebellious, even aggressive at times. But underneath all of that is a scared inner child that actually feels things very deeply and loves intensely. In the past year she’s gotten into boudoir photography, and has found she’s decently good at it. She’s managed to accumulate clients, enough that she can afford living at the trailer park. Her foster family moved to Roswell a year ago, after their son was born (a happy surprise), after communicating with Lennox through phone calls and webcam for several years. They’ve just asked her if she’d be okay with them adopting her, even though it seems to her that it’s pointless at her age. Her sleep schedule is shit, as she often finds herself wandering around at night, not able to shut off her mind, thinking about running away and starting her life over someplace else. But she never does it. At least, not yet. The urge to run away in every area of her life is always so strong.

Henry x Plus-Size Reader
You can find more of my writings in the Masterlist
This was a request from @born2stronger : “what about if Henry meets reader through Instagram (we all know sometimes he checks on the comments) so reader gets his attention and he messages her.”   I hope you like it. 😊
Triggers: Fat- shaming; talking about the lost of a pet; feeling of nostalgia.

"Happy Valentine's day everyone! For all of my fellow single pringles out there, you don't have to be in a relationship to enjoy today, it's about Love. Enjoy seeing others in Love, love your friends, your family, and especially yourself. #Kal #ValentinesDay #BestDogEver #KalentinesDay"
Henry wrote and posted the picture of Kal laying on the bed with a rose on his Instagram account.
Nostalgia hit him hard later that day. He wasn't in a rush to get back on the dating game, especially not after a recent disappointment with a lady, but he missed celebrating that day with a woman he would care about. He starting to imaging how that day would've been if there was someone special in his life: he'd had made breakfast for her to eat on the bed; he'd taken a stroll down the park after that, to enjoy the beautiful morning. They'd have had lunch in someplace fancy, then watch a movie and he'd prepare her favourite dish for dinner and he'd finish the day by making her feel unique. Every woman in his life was unique on his eyes, for best or for worst. That thought made him sigh deeply for what he decided to check some comments on his post. Cheeking comments on his photos was his guilty pleasure. He loved the nice comments and would laugh out loud whenever there were thirsty comments; some were a bit distasteful, others were cute and there were others that were so odd that made him chuckled.
As he was scrolling through comments, one caught up his attention. "@(your username) "KalentinesDay" you cracked me up, Mr Cavill! But I'd like to differ with the BestDogEver one; I love Kal, he's awesome, but my dog is...was the best. I lost him two days ago and I felt like my world crushed for I've had him since I was a kid. Being there holding his paw as the doctor put him down due to disease was the worst thing I've ever experienced. Sorry for ruining the mood, but thank you for the post, it lighted up my day! Have a nice KalentinesDay, Sir." He felt so bad for that person, so he entered her profile and hit the message option. "Hi Y/N. I saw your comment and I just wanted to say how sorry I'm that you lost your beloved companion. I've had Kal for a few years and I cannot even bear the thought of losing him, so I cannot imagine how must feel to lose your pal who's been there most of your life. Be strong. I'm sending you virtual hugs and lots of love. I hope you get better soon." After sending her the message, he checked her account for he saw a recent post with a picture of a lovely dog. It wasn't a mixed breed. It was a rescued dog. She talked so fondly of him, remembering the first day she met him and a few adventures they lived together. The stories warmed Henry's heart yet saddened him, knowing that his light had extinguished. There were a lot of pictures of her dog on her account and pictures of books and movies. Funny enough, most of the books she talked about were some of his favourites and the ones that he hadn't read, he took screen captures so he wouldn't forget to check them out. One of the movies she posted about was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and he had to see her thoughts on it. She agreed that the whole Martha plot was absurd, but the thing that bothered her the most, and in her opinion ruined the movie a little bit, was the fact that Doomsday was on the final trailer, for the movie would have been higher rated from her if she'd already known that he was going to show up. Yet, she disagreed with all the hate and the thought that the movie was bad: "It could've been better? Sure, Was it horrible? Absolutely not," "If it is too dark for you, don't watch it, period. Mr Snyder understands the soul of DC Comics. Dc is not lighthearted, accept that and move on" she wrote. Henry was too tempted to like the post and reply, but he decided that it was best not to do it. She didn't have many pictures of her, but he found one from two years ago. In the picture, she was standing to a bride and she hugging her. She had a pink dress on. Henry looked at her cute smile and was stunned by her beauty. In the caption of the photo, she wrote " Ignore my ugly fat ass... focus on my beautiful sister who just got married to her Charming Prince! Congrats, babe! Love you a lot and wish you a lifetime of nothing but happiness! ♥" Henry liked the picture and went straight to the comment section and wrote "You look gorgeous. I hope their love story is a good one and lives on." and press send. He was so caught by her, that without even noticing it, he went through every single post on her account, like all the photos she was in and same with pictures of books, movies and albums he liked.
He was having dinner with Kal when he noticed that he had a reply on IG. When he opened, he saw it was from the girl with the mesmerizing smile. "I think I should call the police, I have a stalker, 👀 😂" she wrote. "Thank you so much for the mood busting. It means a lot. He brought a lot of light to my life and it's hard to have to say goodbye." she confessed, "but instead of lying in bed crying, I'm going to use that energy to give love to another animal in need, that's what my baby would have wanted, I know it in my heart." she finished. Henry didn't wait for a second to answer her, even if that meant that his food would get cold. "Absolutely! Any animal would be lucky to have you as their momma." he assured, "Sorry for that, I didn't mean to be a creep. I swear I'm nice. I'm Superman" he joked. After a few moments, the girl messaged him again "Superman killed Zod, so...👀😜 ". "Low shot. Also, Zod was a villain" he went on with the conversation. " How do you know that I'm not a villain?" she joked, "Because villains don't love puppies" he grinned like an idiot in love as he pressed send. "Cruella did, though, 👀 😂" she said; "Touché. But I'm sure you're not a villain, you are too cute for that" he explained. "That'd be the perfect cover for a conquer the world masterplan, don't you think? To have everyone trust me and love me for me to be easier to control them?🤔" "Alright, you convinced me. You're the evilest villain in history. So, I should fly to wherever you are and get you." he playfully told her. "And I didn't want to sound creepy 😂. My apologies if my humour seems creepy," he apologized. "I think your humour is genius and I find it cute, no creepy," she pointed out. "Cute enough to meet me in person? 👀" he asked. "Absolutely," she accepted his invitation. "When are you free?" she questioned. Henry looked at the clock, it was 7:30 pm. "I'm free right now if you can." Henry offered, "Do you live in London?". "From the last couple of years, yes. I moved with my mom after my parents got divorced. She's was born here... I mean, yes, I live in London, sorry for the unnecessary information," she requested his forgiveness. "There's no need to apologize. I like getting to know more about you." he explained " Do you want to go to Mark's Club restaurant? It's a nice and quiet place where we can have a nice conversation" he proposed "I think I can get a last-minute reservation since I'm a member of the club." he informed her.  "Sure, I'm going to get ready. Tell me if you get the reservations or we can go anywhere else, I'm sure there are plenty of nice places to eat where there are tables available 😊" she said. "Great, I'm calling them right now!" Henry exclaimed excitedly and went into his phone contact list and press the dial button. He was lucky enough that the manager was a Superman fan and was quite fond of him, so he agreed to reserve a table for him in the busiest night of the year for restaurants. He shared the information to her and went to change as well. He put a white sweater and a nice pair of black pants on and black shoes. A grey blazer was his coat of choice.
He asked for her address to pick her up, but she opted for meeting at the club and he accepted because he understood that maybe she felt unsafe by giving her living information to a stranger. He couldn't lie that this gave him enough time to leave Kal with his friend Ben.
He waited for her inside the restaurant for there were paparazzi outside the place. Mark's Club was an exclusive place where many celebrities choose to eat in, especially in such occasions like Valentine's day - Guy Ritchie and his wife choose that place to spend the night and so did David and Victoria Beckham. Both couples came to greet him as soon as they saw him. His table was about to be ready and she wasn't there yet. He checked for messages on his IG but there were none. Has she stood him up? That'd have broken his heart; no because someone rejected him, but because she did it. He thought that he was losing his mind: being afraid that a girl he met that day on the internet might have played a prank on him and make him believe that she was interested in him.
When he saw that it was 10 pm, he decided that it was better to inform the host of the club that he wouldn't need a table after all. He was about to get up when behind him a female voice called his name. He turned around and stood, speechless. A beautiful woman on a red dress was standing in front of him, showing that glorious smile that captivated him ours ago on his phone.
- I'm so sorry I'm so late.- you apologized profusely - It took me ages to find a cab and then I've spent literally thirty minutes outside trying to get in because paparazzi were being annoying and would get in the way for me to get in.-she explained. - No worries!- he assured her- Honestly, I was a bit afraid that I've had been stood up.-he confessed, styling his hair backwards with his hand. - Absolutely not! I don't particularly enjoy pranks. Especially not in niece people like you.- she smiled and his legs were shaking.
At that moment the waiter approached you to let you know your table was ready. Henry said "Ladies first" indicating you to go first into the table area. The place was elegant. Henry waited behind your chair and as you sat in, he pulled it close to the table. He sat in front of you, grinning like the devil. That charming smile took your breath away.
Every word that came out of your mouth amazed him for your charisma and intelligence. You were not only funny, smart, confident but also beyond beautiful. He knew that wasn't love at first sight, but he could see himself falling deeply in love with you.
Halfway through the dinner, Henry finally noticed that lots of costumers were watching them. He found that odd since he was a regular there and there were plenty of celebrities on that place that night -some way more famous than him.
- I apologized if you feel uncomfortable with people watching us. Usually, they barely look at me. They know I'm an actor, but these fancy folks don't care much for Superheroes.- he explained. You looked at him with a smirk. - They're not looking at you, they are looking at me.- you pointed out. - Are you famous?- he asked confused and you chuckled because he meant it and it wasn't sarcasm. - Yes, I'm Ashley Graham.- you joked and his expression showed ignorance; he didn't know who she was.- She's a model.- you explained and he laughed apologizing for his lack of knowledge on current pop culture. He was beyond cute.- No, I'm not famous. They're looking at me because I'm "fat"; I'm a plus-size woman and they probably can't understand why are you having dinner with me.- you said and smiled- In another point of my life this would have hurt. It did for a long time. Whenever I'd be in a date with a thin man, people would look at us as if they were thinking out loud that he was too good for me, that he could do so much better than a fat girl. Thankfully I'm no longer in a place in which I'd blame myself for their judgement. I'm who I am and I'm ok with that. They can look all they want, they don't mean anything to me.-you shrugged- But, I need to know if that bothers you. I won't judge you if you are not into me. Maybe I'm confusing things, but the fact that you made a last-minute appointment for dinner on this day is because you have some kind of interest on me and I do for you too. I'm in for getting to know each other and maybe be something if we feel it later on. But if that's the case, if I got things wrong and you are not interested in my, just tell me. It's ok and we can be just friends if you want. All I ask from you is not to waste my time. Don't get me to grow feelings for you if you have no intention in returned them.- you requested. Henry went silent for a moment. Then he put his hand on top of yours, grabbed it and kissed it. He grinned and replied, "You got it right, gorgeous."
The dinner continued with you two laughing, drinking fine wine and having delicious desserts. You tried to grab the check but he took it so fast that you barely saw it. "I'll pay next time. That's the condition for me going out again with you" you indicated firmly and he agreed.
As you were about to leave, he noticed you didn't have a coat. "I was so hurried that I forgot to grab one" you explained and he immediately took off his and gave it to you, despite you telling him that you were ok, and helped you to put it on. He held your hand to walk outside, not caring if paparazzi took photos of you and he called a cab for you. It was easier for famous people to get a ride, you noticed. He drove you to your place and walk you to the door. He was much taller than you, so he leaned in to kiss your cheek and kissed your hand as well. Henry promised to call you the next day and walked towards the car. You reminded him of his coat and he asked you to keep it safe for him until next time you saw him. With a big smile, he got in the car and after you entered your place, you heard the cab left.

Home Again 5-Five Hargreeves x Reader
A/N: With TUA Season 2 being released this month the 31st. I have decided to finally write part 5 to the 'Home Again' series if you want another part please let me know💖💜💙☔(I have no idea what might happen this season so some references are from what i have seen on the trailer or comic)
Summary: Reader and Five are finally back. After the events in Dallas, they have succesfully stopped the apocalypse. Now they are together but what else can the future hold for them now. (Don't worry Five is aged up)
Tumblr media
Time travelling and heading into 60's Dallas sucked, I don't know why but I always hated Dallas, maybe because of the country side or becauss our once president was shot and killed there. I did no have a fun time in that State.
Everything was rough, tiring and I was alone most of my time. We all somehow got seperated and I was left alone in a city and had to find my siblings. I had to wear those weird 60's dressed Allison forced me to wear when we found each other.
Luther was in fight club.
Vanya was someplace with a lady and her kids
Klaus led a cult.
Diego was in a mental hospital but hey! Ben was back and alive this time!
Five was the last to arrive and thankfully we found each other again which made things way easier for me. Hazel was around helping us but he looked older.
Some crazy trio of Swedish men hunted us down.
The head of the comission and Five's handler is a fish, Carmichael was his name. I assisted Five in everything I could which the horrifying part was to take place as Jackie Kennedy and he shot the president ending the apocalypse once and for all.
I was horrified when I found Five back at Carmichael's office, but the fish head tank thing was broken and Five has gone insane and ate the fish...
My time in Dallas was insane.
But lucky us we stopped the apocalypse and we were back home. Our family was stronger than ever. We were once again living under the same roof.
I rested my head against the pillow and lazily turned the page to the book I was reading and smiled at Ben who glanced over at me since I wouldn't stop yawning.
"Didn't get enough sleep again last night?" He asks giving me a warm smile and I slowly nodded my head and felt just a bit dizzy.
"Same thing and same nightmare." I mutter and closed the book. Ben did the same and gently took both my hands.
"You're stressing yourself our again. You should talk with-"
"I don't want to pressure him more and talk about these things. He hates having these types of conversations snd you know it." I remind him.
"If I remember correctly my brother always worries about you, even if you don't notice it often. Try talking to him." Ben whispers and patted my head.
He got up from the floor and looked down at me, "Want anything from Griddy's? Klaus, Diego and I are heading out-"
"I can take it from here, Ben."
We looked over and saw Five looking at us both. His eyes remained cold and stern. Ben only nodded his head and quietly walked away from us.
I stayed silent and stared down at my lap refusing to meet his eyes. I know that look.
Allison and Luther walked past us and sat on the other side. Vanya then appeared and smiled when the little girl beside her giggled. "I had fun today auntie Vanya, can we go to the park tomorrow?!"
"Maybe we can hear you play the violin again." The other girl said which made Vanya smile wider at them.
"That's up to your parents to agree." She shyly said. Claire nodded and ran over to Allison and Violet ran over to me and jumped in her place.
"Mommy! Auntie Vanya can really play the violin. Can I go with her and Claire tomorrow again?! Please!!" She asked all happily which made me smile.
"Of course, but you know who you have to ask too." I whisper and her dark eyes lit up and her long black hair bounced as she ran up to Five.
"Daddy can I go?" Five stared down at her and gave her a simple nod and his expression didn't change. He's become so serious and reserved.
Somehow when we got back Violet did as well, her age the exact one like Claire. We watched her and Claire play with some dolls on the floor.
"(Y/N), can we talk?" Five still serious asked me. I nodded and followed him outside. "Where are we going?" I ask him.
"Griddy's. Where else would we go?"
Violet's head shot up at the diner's name and ran over to Five and held onto his pants. "Can I go?" He seemed irritated by her so he shook his head and Violet pouted.
"Now now, Vee. Go play back and play with Claire." He ordered not looking at her.
I glared at Five and saw Violet slowly walking away. I turn to look at him again, "How dare you say no to
her? She's our daughter." Five refuses to look down at me. Thing's have changed a lot and not only his appearence. I used to be taller than Five but not anymore, he got back to our age and was as tall as Klaus.
He no longer wore the Academy's uniform but a nicely tailored suit and as usual his hair styled nicely. "Claire. Violet, come on. Allison you mind if I take them for some donuts?" I ask.
"Fine by me, just make sure to bring us some." She said with a smile. Five rolled his eyes and began walking ahead of me. I hurried as fast as I could and both girls began walking in front of us.
Five and I checking them so they don't disappear. "I wanted to spend some time with you alone." He whispers angrily and I glare at him.
"Since when have you decided on this?"
"Your annoying you know that?" I hear him mutter and we continued to walk at Griddy's.
We entered the donut shop and the girls screamed excitedly when they saw their three uncles together. Ben, Klaus and Diego. This made me jump a little since they scream surprised me and Five groaned and sat away across from the shop.
"I didn't expect to see my two favorite nieces together." Diego says carrying Violet in his arms and Klaus ordering a dozen more of donuts for them.
"Hey, little Five is here we should-"
"Don't call me that or I'll stab you with a fork." Five responded to Klaus. Ben looked at them worried but Klaus just brushed it off and rolled his eyes. Violet and Claire went over to sit with them.
I sat down across from Five and he ran his hands tiredly over his face, "So much for a private conversation." The new waitress brought us some meal and quickly walked away
I stayed silent and crossed my arms looking at him upset. "Well? What's wrong with you?"
"What's wrong with you?" He asks in return and we both fall silent. I glance to my right and see my brothers staring at us both intently. I ignore their stares and look at Five.
"I've had these nightmares for months now. Ever since we came back. It's been six months since we did and you've distanced yourself from me."
"Don't be ridiculous I haven't done-"
"Quit denying it, Five! You're suffering ptsd like I am and you're keeping this all in to yourself. We're a couple now, right? It's only fair for you to talk to me too-"
"I don't want to lose you again!" He says almost breaking his coffee mug. He takes a deep shaky breathe and finally looks at me, his eyes now look different. Now longer cold and serious but filled with emotions.
"The reason why I kept pushinf you and our daughter was because I was afraid to get attached again and lose you both if something happened to us again."
I reach over and took another bite of my donut, this is a serious conversation but I can't stop eating. I wiped my mouth and smiled.
"I've been feeling the same way. I keep having these nightmares where I lose all of you again, but now that you said all that I know I won't lose you...I can't this time."
I grab his hand and see his golden wedding ring. I smile looking at him and gently placed his hand on my growing belly. "You'll be here with us this time."
Five wipes a tear from his eyes and nods his head still having his hand rested on me. "And I'll keep protecting you." I blush when he said those words and he leaned closer to kiss my lips when we heard the girls say yuck and we both looked at the girls covering their eyes.
Five goes back to his usual serious self and sits back ignoring the girls and his brothers who are teasing him. I giggle and picked up a jelly donut, "Just so you know..I'm eating all of these."
Five smiles and hands me his other donut, "Then by all means eat. I want to see my wife happy."
I huff and smirk at him, "You're saying this now but wait till I get fat."
"I'll still love you no matter what. How many months has it been again?" He asks looking at my stomach.
"Six months. Just three more months and have a little you running around." I say with a blush and his mouth fell open.
"We're having a boy?!"
I nod my head and giggle at his reaction. "The doctor asked me if I wanted to
know the sex so I accepted." Five leaned over sgain and grabbed my face with both hands to kiss me longer. "You know what this means right?" I ask him when he pulled away. Five tilted his head so I reminded him.
"You'll have to repaint the room."
"Oh..right." I stare at him and raised an eyebrow. "If I remember correctly you said you really wanted a boy. I tease him and Five scoffs and sips his coffee.
"No, I didn't." He is a terrible liar. "Look at it this way then, Violet will have a brother to play with." I say imagining her playing with the baby.
"Our daughter is lucky to have us as parents..maybe once the baby is born we can try having baby number three." I cough up and stare at him.
"Are you insane?" I ask and feel myself blushing. Five stares at me all serious and shakes his head. "I don't think so." He replies and smiled when Violet comes to our table and he grabs hee so she is sitting on his lap. I look at him and our daughter. It so scary on how much they resemble each other.
I wipe my mouth and nervously laugh, is he being serious or just messing with me? I look at Violet as she dumps her piece of donut into Five's coffee. He ignores that and stares at me so I finally look at him again. "So..how many kids do you want to have?"
"Not much...probably seven."

A Decision at the Crossroads
 A Heartland AU - Chapter 1
Back up to speed after passing yet another work zone and those ridiculous signs touting that this delay was brought to you by a slew of politicians ‘rebuilding’ Alberta and then he smiled as a new song hit the speakers and he happily joined in.
“On a dark desert highway
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw a shimmering light
Head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
Had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway
Heard the mission bell
I was thinking to myself, ‘This could be heaven or this could be hell
Then she lit up a candle
She showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
Thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
(Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year
(Any time of year)
You can find it here
“Call from Amy. To answer…..”
“Hey sweetheart.”
“Hi Poppa, it’s Lyndy.”
“Hi honey, does momma know you have her phone ?”
“Of course, I’m helping.” Of course was Lyndy’s new catch phrase, neither he nor Amy had any idea where it came from.
“And how are you helping ?”
“Momma wants to know if you’ll be home by dinner.”
“I don’t think so sweetheart, I can’t go very fast with these horses, can I talk to momma ?”
“Of course but she’s helping JT in the bathroom so you’ll have to wait, are you singing with the radio ?”
“I sure am.”
“I like when you sing with momma.”
He heard Lyndy talking off the phone for a second before an obvious phone transfer, “Hello my love.”
“Hey sweetheart, what’s up with Jackson ?”
“Oh it was nothing, we were finger painting new pictures for the fridge to welcome you home, just some serious hand and face washing. No hope for dinner huh ?”
“No and they’re fixing the roads so there are detours with the trailer and the horses are still a bit skittish so I’m stopping to settle them often.”
“Well take your time and watch yourself with them.”
“Never mind me, how are you feeling ?”
“You mean aside from really missing you ?”
“That bad huh ? I love it when your pregnant.”
“Oh stop, it’s kind of fun.”
“More than kind of fun, anyway, I don’t think I’ll be that late but don’t wait up, you need your sleep.”
“Ok, we’ll see, Lisa’s making dinner, maybe I can catch a nap.”
“A nap would be great.”
“I promise to try, you stay safe.”
“I will, love you !!”
“We love you too sweetheart.”
There was no really direct route from Northern Alberta to the South so from Cold Lake down, with the idea of keeping the trailer on the most sound roads possible the rescues were transported in a weirdly circuitous path around large cities but at the same time keeping to at least paved roads as opposed to what sometimes passed as a numbered and posted road in Alberta, nothing more than dirt that two cars could pass together.
There was also the stopping, sometimes a quick pit stop for food, water or to use a rest room and sometimes just to see the horses and have them see him, check on feed, water and a gently pat and offer a calm word to settle them. They were mostly better from the medical problems stemming from their abandonment and lack of nutrition but mentally they were distrusting, skittish and somewhat unpredictable. Ordinarily they would have left the kids for a few days at the ranch with family and Amy would have come along but with her pregnant  and the unsurety of a trailer and transport they decided against it. Besides Amy wasn’t sleeping well and out of her first trimester they had decided that this was best, home at the ranch. It was a lonely drive but there was the scenery and the radio.
“You who are on the road
Must have a code that you can live by
And so become yourself
Because the past is just a good-bye.
Teach your children well,
Their father's hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picks, the one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you.
And you, of tender years,
Can't know the fears that your elders grew by,
And so please help them with your youth,
They seek the truth before they can die.
Teach your parents well,
Their children's hell will slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picks, the one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.”
Traffic was slowing again up ahead and the truck slowed and finally came to a stop. 30 minutes later following the other cars and trucks inching along he was exited onto yet another of the endless detours that seemed to plague this trip. Turning twice it seemed the detour included a terrible pot hole filled road that was mostly dirt at this point.
35 minutes later after brushing the dirt from his knees and wiping his brow with his sleeve he reached for his phone and dialed.
“Hey, you Ok ?”
“Cracked rocker arm on the truck I think, damned potholes, I was so focused on the trailer I must have missed it. The horses are fine but I’m going to have to get this trailer towed somewhere I can keep these horses overnight and get the truck picked up. Maybe I’ll luck out and there’s a Dodge dealership close that has the rocker in stock.”
“So what’s the plan ?”
“I guess I’ll call the local vet first and see if they can recommend someplace that can isolate these three. Maybe even a garage that can deal with an emergency and we’ll see where we are first thing. I’d hate for someone to have to drive up.”
“We’ll hope for the best, but we’ll all miss not having you back tonight.”
“I know, kiss the kids for me, I’ll call later once I have some idea of what’s going on.”
“and for goodnights.”
“And for good nights. Love you.”
“So much in love with you.”
Once the horses were picketed out between the woods and the trailer, hay spread and water supplied he checked his phone and dialed.
“Nelson Lake Veterinary Clinic, your call is important to us, please hold.”
“Nelson Lake, this is Dr. Burton can I help you ?”
It took a few minutes for introductions and to run  the sad tale by Dr. Burton who understood immediately.
“How about this, stay put and I’ll call my tech and get him on board and then let the sheriff know you’re out there. Once that’s done we’ll see about the truck, I’d like those horses off the road.”
“I’m all for that, you have my number ?”
“Yup, just fine, call you back in 10.”
The Police cruiser pulled past the trailer and truck and onto the side of the road a respectful distance from the horses so as not to spook them and walked over to introduce himself.
Immediately after greetings and introductions the phone rang.
“Go ahead, that’s probably Kelsey, uh Dr. Burton” the officer who had introduced himself as Matthew Connolly told him “Alright if I say hello to these three ?”
Answering the phone he nodded at the officer and then covered the phone “tread lightly they’re rescues.”
The plan wasn’t that complicated, the clinic’s vet tech would come in the clinic truck with the wrecker who would disconnect the truck from the trailer, hook the clinic truck to the trailer and then follow the trailer back to the stables that would house the horses. In the morning they would get the truck off the ground and see what was up and move on from there.
“Should be 20 minutes or so, you don’t have to wait.”
“I’m going to turn around and park behind you, I don’t like the horses open like that, they see my cruiser they won’t do something stupid like pull an air horn.”
“I hate to take your time but I do appreciate it.”
“I’m fine so where you hail from ?”
“We have a small ranch down near Hudson.”
“Hudson ? Whereabouts is that ?
“Let’s see Okotoks?”
“Oh sure, you’ve got a herd ?”
“Two actually, White Face, my wife’s family has a herd we’re partners in, they’re just down the road, and we’ve got a herd at our place, best beef in Alberta.”
“And the rescues ?”
“My wife’s business is horses, training, rehab, you name it.”
“Kids ?”
“Two, girl and a boy and one on the way.”
He swiped his finger over the screen and handed the phone to Officer Connolly.
“Nice looking family, that’s your spread behind you, looks inviting.”
“I love it and them, pretty idyllic if you ask me, our family almost sold it a few years ago, don’t know what we were thinking.”
“Young and stupid like the rest of us.”
Two chairs were pulled from a side storage locker on the trailer and there was an almost fresh thermos of coffee the young officer offered.
“Always wanted to be a sheriff, police work ?”
“Oh yeah, my Uncle Pete was a Mountie, that was awesome.”
“No serge for you though ?”
“Bum knee from hockey, fine for a sheriff but not a Mountie. No complaints, I live with the people I serve and I like it. I guess you’ve always wanted to be a rancher.”
“Early on for sure and now I wouldn’t trade it for anything but I did a stint in the Army and when I came home was off to the oil fields but I met my wife.”
“Guys go off to the field and back to the army and have wives.”
“Not me, marriage is a commitment, you don’t mess with that. Small trips and the like fine but 4 month commitments away, doesn’t seem right. Besides I don’t think I could be away from her, the kids or the ranch for that long.”
“That’s nice though, you know, the way it should be.”
“Before the kids and sometimes if we get volunteers for the kids we do trips like this together, it’s why we bought this thing. How about you, married ?”
“Soon enough, engaged, can’t wait, we have a down payment on a small place with a bit of property, she’s a teacher but we both wanted some land, maybe get a couple horses.”
“Some nice country for riding around here, not a bad way to spend time for newlyweds.”
They stopped and got up leaving their empty cups when the pickup pulled behind the cruiser and the wrecker pulled up in front of the trailer rig.
“Matt, how’s everything ?” The younger man asked walking up and then a second later the second, an older man also walked over. “Matt, Ty” he said smiling.
“Dwayne Coolidge, Ty Borden” this is Mitch uhmm.”
“Cutty, Mitch Cutty, thanks to both of you for coming out.”
“It’s what we do” Dwayne said, “Ok, let’s crank down the trailer and see if we get lucky and it frees the truck.”
“Mitch, you have papers for these guys I can see ?” Ty asked “Sorry but the cops are here so, you know.” He finished with a smile at Mitch and the officer.
“We’ll start on the trailer.” Matt said walking around the truck to the jack handle assembly on the other side of the rig.”
Ty leaned against the trailer as Mitch reached in to grab the leather folder where he kept the important papers for the trip. A minute later he handed Ty the three stapled sets of papers and the vet reports.
“Well they’re clear medically, and let’s see Saddle Road Ranch Corporation, Hudson, AB. I know that area a little from years ago, can’t say I know the name, is it new ?”
“I’m 4th generation.”
“Guess not then,” Ty said filling out a form off the papers.
“How’s this going to work ?”
“Ok, well, once the trailer’s free and the truck’s out of the way we’ll hook it up the vet truck, load up the horses and head over to my place. The clinic has a four stall isolation barn there. I also run a small bike shop, mostly vintage repairs and restorations so in the morning we can look at your truck and figure something out. You can sleep in the house or hook up outside the barn, looks like a comfortable ride. Up to you.”
“I’m fine in the trailer and all set up actually if you’ve got a hose and a plug.”
“There’s actually a trailer hookup out there, I stayed in one while we got the house fixed up.”
“We ? Married Ty ?”
“Not yet anyway, we is Kelsey, or the clinic and I, we share ownership and I’m paying it off so eventually it’ll be mine. I’m finishing vet school next year so we have an agreement. By the way she’ll be stopping by in case you want to give them something to calm down after all of this.”
“No worries, I have some herbs that’ll do the trick, we try to steer clear of the drugs if we can, keep ‘em healthy and they stay that way.”
“Can’t argue with that philosophy I guess, consider the option though, one’s sure fired and one’s not.”
Mitch sat in his fold out chair in front of a small fire he had started in the fire pit. Dr. Burton had stopped by and took a quick look at the horses. She was satisfied that Mitch
was confident in his herbs and wished both he and Ty goodnight. Ty offered to share a take out order with Mitch declaring he’d have done it anyway and they settled on pizza which was delivered.
They ate and sipped a couple beers that Mitch supplied.
“If you don’t mind my asking, aren’t a bit old to be in vet school, take a break ?”
“Got sidetracked a few years ago and took a break in college, worked out Ok I guess between the bike work and vet work I’m doing well. You ?”
“After high school I did a stint in the military and went to school at the same time, electrical engineering mostly power line work. After I came back ,my folks were talking about selling the ranch and I had the idea of doing some oil work, change of pace kind of thing.”
“And ?”
“And, I met a woman, fell madly in love, kept the ranch.”
“Kids ?”
“Two, one on the way.” Mitch said finishing his beer. “I’m out.” He said placing the empty on the small table.
“I’ll grab a couple from the house” Ty said getting up as Mitch’s phone rang.
“Just in time” Ty said standing and turning as Mitch answered.
Ty caught the first of Mitch’s conversation, stopped for a second, shrugged and moved on.
“Hey Lyndy, you and JT call for goodnights ?”

Christianity has no magic
My husband lost his job. My sister-in-law was murdered. Here’s what it did to my faith. by Elizabeth Bruenig at the Washington Post
A week before my daughter was born, my husband lost his job. It was unexpected. I came home from work just a little early one day because I thought I had felt a contraction — I didn’t know what it would feel like, having never given birth, and so I thought every pain could be a sign of labor.
When I came inside, I saw my husband’s shoes by the door. It wasn’t time for him to be in yet. I looked up and there he was, sitting in the rocking chair we had bought for me to use when nursing our baby. And he was slouched with his head in his hands, so then I knew.
I don’t remember much else about what happened then, other than that at some point I pulled so hard on the medal I was wearing — a miraculous medal, imprinted with an image of the Virgin Mary — that the clasp broke.
When I gave birth a few days later, the pain was unmistakable.
My husband and I came home from the hospital and looked for jobs for him. Sometimes when a job seemed especially promising I would go to church and light a candle and pray, although I still hadn’t fixed the clasp on my medal and didn’t wear it. It laid on the surface of my dresser and was buried in short order under towels and rags and baby clothes.
***
I had felt, maybe because of all my prayers, that things would soon look up. It made sense that things would get better quickly.
In late June, while my husband was out shopping for a suit for interviews, he received a phone call from his father in Texas. My husband’s sister, he said, had been murdered. She was 29 years old.
When my husband came home, I was in bed with the baby. Both she and I were glazed with sweat. Our bed is near a window; outside there are only the staggered roofs of other buildings, plain and tan, some of them sometimes crested by birds. I had fallen asleep watching crows rising up in the shimmering heat.
When he woke me up all I could hear through my daze was that she had passed away.
It was only later that he used the word murdered. A man had attacked Heather in the trailer she shared with two other women — a mother and her adult daughter who had previously lived out of their car. Heather was engaged and looking forward to her impending marriage. She had sporadically studied accounting after high school but spent most of her time working as a waitress at Cracker Barrel and Red Lobster. She had always been poor; she had never known anything other than being poor.
Red Lobster helped pay for her funeral. Dimly I thought of God’s love for the poor. Where could it have gone? Where was God now?
My husband flew to Texas, and I slept with our daughter, only a few weeks old. She woke up often then, hungry, and I would nurse her. In between I drifted in and out of a fitful twilight sleep, still aching from birth and worry. I wanted to see my husband, but I had run out of encouraging things to say. We were both exhausted. I would try to pray, only for my mind to wander into broken thoughts. I had a strange dream.
In my dream, I wandered down the aisle of some kind of noisy, crowded theater. At the front, where a stage should have been, were confessionals. I went inside one to repent and there was no priest there, only a screen with the face of a priest. I said to him: “Father, I’ve lost my faith.”
***
I should tell you the story of my medal.
In 2014, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery, and my mother visited her in the hospital often. It was a long recovery.
One evening my mother came home from the hospital and showed me something.
“I spotted this in the parking lot,” she said. There was a dull, nickel-colored oval in her hand. On one side I could make out the image of the Blessed Virgin, but the other side was coated with chewed gum and dirt.
I am a convert. My mother, a Methodist, wasn’t sure what this pendant could be. Neither was I.
I cleaned it up with dish soap and tweezers. It had been scraped on the asphalt, but I could read the words: O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
The next time I was out, I took the medal with me in a plastic bag. I brought it to a jewelry shop and had it put on a simple black cord with a lobster clasp, and from then on I wore it very often, thinking as much of whoever had lost it in the hospital parking lot as of my mother who picked it up out of the filth for me as of the Blessed Virgin herself.
***
The police were able to tell us that they had caught Heather’s killer driving her car, which he had stolen. She had been stabbed in the neck. There was very little more they were willing to say.
A couple of job opportunities seemed very likely. I would pray and ask all my friends to pray. I trust that they did.
But nothing came through.
***
For a while during the long, hot summer I entertained the superstitious idea that things would not look up for my family until I had the clasp of my medal repaired. I did not think I was being punished for breaking it, but I thought I had damaged some trust by doing that, and that I couldn’t fix it until I did some penance by way of cost and trouble.
But things got in the way. There is so much to carry when you go out with a baby. I would always think of taking it with me when I thought we might pass by a jewelry shop, but some other thing — a bottle, a rattle, a just-in-case bundle of socks — would always occupy my hands instead.
Summer stretched on. Our baby grew; she did not wake up so much in the night anymore, and she could smile and laugh. I prayed for the soul of my sister-in-law, and for my husband’s family and my husband, who occupied himself with our baby so as not to dwell too much on everything that was lost. I didn’t rush to light candles for possible jobs anymore. It didn’t seem to be any use, and I thought I had made my hope on that front clear enough. God would listen or He wouldn’t.
I had days of greater and lesser certainty. Mostly I thought God was listening. That was the fact that made me feel so restless: Why are You listening so quietly? I know You’re there. A whisper of doubt sometimes passed through my thoughts: You’re only thinking like this because it’s likely another job will come along. If it were something less likely, you wouldn’t feel so sure.
***
In August I visited my gynecologist’s office for a postpartum checkup. Everything looked to be in order. She asked me if I had felt sad since the baby had been born, or hopeless or lost. She asked if I had spent many hours crying.
I lied to her. But on the way home, in the still midday street with sun flooding upward from the pavement, I impulsively stopped my taxi short of my apartment building.
I departed from the road into the cavernous darkness of a church.
It wasn’t time for confession, but there was a priest in the sacristy who I asked, when he emerged, if he would hear my confession. He led me by the shoulder to the confessional where I knelt down and rested my forehead on my folded knuckles.
I don’t have any more faith, I told him.
But you’re here, he said. He was patient. It took a long time for me to say anything. Slowly I recounted everything that had happened over the past few months, though I didn’t tell him about my medal — somehow even then I was still too cowardly to tell him about my medal.
He listened. He said, at last, that while faith can be a comfort, it can also torture you. It can tear at you in times like these, he said, with his hand fixed like a claw. Because you know everything could be made better. But it isn’t.
The line between religion and magic, I learned in school, isn’t clear. But many scholars of religion agree that one important division is that while magic is private and crisis-oriented, religion is public and its rituals have no specific, short-term, earthly goals.
Christianity has no magic, and that may be just as well.
***
Eventually a job came along. The way that it happened was very prosaic, the way most jobs are. Nothing about it felt miraculous. I couldn’t discern any sign in it, but I know there must be one. It isn’t always important, I now think, to feel moved. Sometimes faith is an act of will. Maybe it mostly is.
What can I say: That my faith wasn’t injured? It was wounded.
But wounded things heal.
By the fall our baby had grown so much she could no longer fit into her first baby clothes. I decided to put all of them away for the next baby, and so went through our apartment gathering up every sock and onesie marked for a baby up to three months. In doing so I uncovered my medal, still looped on its broken cord.
I was never going to have it fixed, I realized. It wasn’t realistic. Having the clasp of a cord repaired was no longer possible in the scheme of the life I had now.
Nor did I have to. I slipped it from the cord and onto an unbroken silver chain I’d bought someplace a long time ago. It looked different, but wore just the same.

Tumblr media
Sweet Pea was stood leaning against his bike, arms crossed, staring at the ground. As you approached, he climbed on, you wondered where he wanted to take you but you didn’t feel you should ask.
You slid on behind him but were hesitant to put your arms round him, he was still mad at you and you hadn’t made your mind up about him yet.
“You’re going to need hold on tight.” There was still no emotion in his voice, it worried you. He had begun to show you his true colours, slowly he had been letting down the tough-guy façade but now you were back to square one. You had hurt him, you knew you had overreacted and you felt bad.
Cautiously you wrapped your arms around his waist and you felt his muscles tense. Without a word, he revved the engine and sped out of the car park.
He drove down the highway and towards Greendale. Very little was out here, you were away from most residencies and far from the busy town life. After a while, you felt Sweet Pea relax into you which gave you the confidence to lean your head against his back as you watched the surroundings pass by.
It felt like that first night. It made you hopeful that you would be able to salvage the bond you had started to form between the two of you. You were put into an awful situation but maybe you could make the best of it, perhaps you could be something more.
Just before you reached Sweet Water River he turned off the main road, to a smaller, winding one. The scenery became a lot more rural and, although the road was lined with trees and bushes, through the gaps you could see the distant town lights over the edge of the hill, the buildings becoming smaller and smaller. You had never been here. It was on the South Side and your parents had never willingly let you step foot on the ‘more dangerous’ side of town.
He came to a stop at the side of the road and you slid off, turning to have a better look at your surroundings. You weren’t at the top of the hill yet but there was a small clearing. There was a gap in the trees which framed the area, allowing you to see the view below. Walking nearer to the edge, you gasped at the sight. You could see for miles, the town of Riverdale, Greendale, Sweet Water River and beyond.
The sun was beginning to set and the summer sky was cast in shades of orange and pink. It doused you in an orange glow and, as you looked behind, the trees also mirrored its colours. It was truly beautiful.
“My mum used to bring me here as a kid, before she left.” Sweet Pea came to stand beside you. You smiled to him and, this time, he returned it.
You sat on the floor, crossed legged and Sweet Pea followed suit.
“It really is beautiful, thank you for bringing me here.” You shuffled so that you were facing Sweet Pea, you needed to see his expression for this conversation. “So, talk to me. Tell me what you wanted to say in Pop’s before I left.”
He sighed and rubbed his forehead before sitting back, kicking his feet out, using his hands to support him.
“As you know, your dad made some deal with the Ghoulies that went south and he asked the Serpents to help protect you from their attacks; FP assigned me the job.”
You nodded for him to continue.
“He asked us not to say anything but we, Jughead and I, became worried about you but didn’t want to outright defy FP’s orders. You needed to know.” He looked to his lap and started playing with the bottom of his jacket.
You shuffled towards him until your leg was against his. He looked up to you and you saw the nervous look return to his eyes, he really did care, as much as he tried to hide it. You were grateful that he was showing this emotion again. He wasn’t ready to give up the tough boy act quite yet but it helped reassure you that he was willing to bring the wall down for you.
“So that night…” You prompted.
“That night, when I came to your house, I knew your dad wasn’t home.” He admitted hesitantly, searching your eyes for any anger or hurt. You simply nodded your head, you were ready to hear him out and you weren’t going to interrupt him this time.
“I wanted to tell you but I knew I couldn’t, so I thought that me showing up would prompt you to question your dad. I wanted to explain everything to you I just…” He looked to his lap again, trying to avoid eye contact with you. “I just didn’t expect to feel the way that I do about you.” It felt as though your heart stopped. He felt it too. There had always been that sexual tension there but you were always unsure if it was only playful.
“Oh, Pea. I feel it too.” Your hand moved to his, lazily playing with his fingers, and his eyes returned to yours. “Sure, it was a shitty situation, I didn’t think it was right for you to be spying on me but it wasn’t your choice, it was my dad, you wanted to tell me. That’s what matters.”
A grin spread over his face and it was mirrored on yours. He was showing genuine joy and it made your heart swell. Your hand moved to his face, running a thumb across his cheek. How you had wanted to do this for so long and now you were in the perfect place. He leant into your touch as you gazed into each other’s eyes. You would give the world to ensure that that look never left his face. It felt like you were at home at last.
Pea placed a hand behind your neck, running his hands through your hair. His eyes flicked to your lips before returning to your eyes, asking for permission. In answer you leant forwards, closing the gap.
When your lips met, every cell in your body exploded. You missed this. This feeling. It almost felt even better after waiting a week. His hands moved to either side of your face, deepening the kiss, as he ran his tongue over your bottom lip. Gladly, you opened your mouth, granting entrance. You straddled his lap and his hands moved to your waist, pulling you tight against his chest. Your fingers knotted into his hair and you held him even closer.
You pulled away for a moment to breathe and Pea started trailing butterfly kisses down your neck before starting to nibble at your collar bone. Your head tilted back and your eyes closed in bliss. You were breathless, partially from the kiss but also because of him. He moved to the neckline of your top and started placing kisses just above your breasts.
You moved your hands to take your shirt off but he took hold of your wrists. He chuckled when you whined in frustration, before placing his hand on your cheek lovingly.
“Not here, Y/N. I won’t have our first time be on the roadside.” You leant into his touch and nuzzled your cheek against his palm.
Suddenly he gripped hold of your waist and you squealed as he lifted you off him. He stood, before helping you to your feet, placing a tender kiss on your lips.
“Come on, let’s go find someplace more private.” He mumbled against your lips.
Pea gave you one more quick peck before taking your hand and leading you to his bike.
This time, as Pea drove, you gladly wrapped your arms around his torso. As you came down the hill, you began to kiss his neck before beginning to gently suck at the pressure point just below his ear.
“If you continue that we’re going to be in an accident Y/N, and then your dad really will kill me.” He groaned in response as he tried his hardest to keep his eyes on the road. You could see he was heading for Sunny Side Trailer Park and you felt the anticipation begin building in your stomach.
At his words, you ceased kissing his neck but instead started teasing the hem of his shirt. You brushed your fingers over his abs and he leant back into your embrace.
“I’m warning you.” He whispered over his shoulder. You giggled but stopped, returning to nuzzling your cheek against his back.
When he pulled up outside his trailer, he wasted no time sliding off his bike and turning to you. You twisted so he stood between your legs and he captured your lips once again. Your legs wrapped around his waist and he lifted you, not breaking the kiss.
He stumbled up the stairs and, removing one hand from around his neck, you reached down to open the door.
Once inside, he put you down briefly so he could shut the door, giving you the chance to look around his trailer. It was surprisingly tidy for a teenage boy living on his own. There was a small sofa in the corner across from a television and a large collection of films. The kitchen table was small with only two chairs and, to your surprise, there was a hefty number of books on the shelves above it. The walls were very bare with no pictures or photos or anything showing any recognition of his family.
Pea came up behind you, throwing his Serpent jacket onto the sofa, and wrapping his arms around your waist. “What do you think?” he whispered into your ear, causing a shiver to ripple down your spine.
You turned around so that you were facing him, putting your hands behind his neck. “It’s nice… but I don’t want to focus on that right now.” You kissed him then, not wanting to waste any more time. He lifted you up, so you were more of his height, and you wrapped your legs around his waist again. You were slammed against the wall of his trailer as he deepened the kiss. It was amazing, he was finally yours.
Fumbling, you started to take your shirt off, once Pea realised, he tugged it over your head in one smooth movement.
He stood, staring at you for a moment.
“What?” You asked, suddenly feeling self-conscious. He placed a hand on your cheek and leant his forehead against yours.
“You’re just so beautiful.” He mumbled against your lips.
He began laying kisses all over the sensitive skin on your neck, travelling down to your collar bone. When he reached the top of your breast, he skimmed his tongue against the skin, sending shockwaves up your body.
His was wearing more clothes than you, it wasn’t fair. You grappled at his shirt before giving up.
“This. Off.” You ordered gesturing to his shirt.
“You’re wish is my command, m’lady.” He joked, placing you on the ground as he pulled it over his head, revealing the perfect porcelain body underneath. He was gorgeous, practically an Adonis, and he was all yours.
“What, see something you like?” He winked at you.
You rolled your eyes in response to his antics but truly you couldn’t believe how lucky you were.
“Come here.” He muttered softly and you stepped towards him and he picked you up once again, kissing you passionately. In a few sure strides, he took you into his bedroom, throwing you onto the bed, where you had a night you would never forget.
You were woken early by the sun blinding you through the window. Rolling over, you saw Sweet Pea still passed out in the bed, the sheets draped artfully over his body. His hair was tousled and he was snoring quietly, the soft, innocent expression on his face showed the true boy he was. He was abandoned by his family too young and took refuge with the Serpents, his true family. You didn’t know much about Pea, but your guess was that he had a rough start and now he must look out for himself, playing the hostile gang-member. You hoped you would be able to make him as happy as he made you.
You carefully stood up, trying your hardest not to wake Pea. His room again was very tidy and bare, you wondered how much time he actually spent in the trailer. The remainder of your clothes were scattered carelessly across the room but you didn’t want to put them on.
You rummaged through his wardrobe for something you could use as a make-shift dress. Most of his clothes were black t-shirts and jeans but you found a plaid button down shirt, which you put on. It just about covered your bum and you decided it would make do.
Through the sitting area was a small kitchen. There was a countertop, which was used to store his school books, and an old hob sat on top of a small oven. The hob was covered in stains and dust, it hadn’t been used (or cleaned) for a while. You opened the cupboard to see if there was anything you could make a breakfast from but there was only a couple of dishes and a packet of crisps. The inside of the fridge was a similar story with only beer and an out-of-date carton of milk. Great.
“Hey, Y/N. What you up to?” You turned to see a sleepy Pea stood in the doorway. He rubbed his eyes with his fists. He had put his boxers on but you could still appreciate how amazing he looked in the morning light.
“I was going to make us breakfast but you only have crisps and beer.” You gestured to the open fridge.
“Ah, shit, I didn’t think anyone’d be coming over. I normally just eat out.” He mumbled, still half-asleep.
He came over to you and engulfed you in a hug. You buried your nose into his chest, he smelt like home.
Your stomach rumbled, announcing it was time for food. Pea stepped back and kissed your forehead.
“Not that I’m complaining about the choice of outfit,” his eyes roved up and down your body, appreciating the lack of clothing you were wearing, “but you may want to put more clothes on if we’re heading out for breakfast.”
You stuck your bottom lip out. “Does that mean you can’t go out like that either?” You complained.
“I’m afraid not, Sweetheart, this is only for you.” He held your face tenderly and gave you a loving kiss. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders, trying to deepen it but you were interrupted by your stomach growling again.
“I guess we need to go” You muttered and he chuckled in answer, before picking you up and taking you back to his room to ‘change’.
Eventually you made it out of the trailer and Pea drove you both to Pop’s on his bike. As you walked in you spotted Betty, Archie, Ronnie and Jughead in a booth in the corner. Before you could even think about sitting elsewhere, Betty spotted you and beckoned you over.
“Y/N, Sweet Pea, nice to see you.” Archie smiled up at you, it seemed genuine, at least you hoped it was.
“Would you like to join us?” Ronnie asked, offering a smile too. She was a lot less hostile. This wasn’t like the last encounter you had in Pop’s and you were glad she was being friendly. Maybe Betty had spoken to her. You hoped you would be able to go back to being friends.
The couple on either side of the table shuffled along, making room for you to squeeze in. You ordered breakfast from Pop Tate and sat back and relaxed with your friends.
Pea fit effortlessly into the conversation and was even joking with Jug. Betty gave you a knowing look as she took in your appearance. You were wearing Pea’s plaid shirt tucked into your skirt from last night. She didn’t say anything though, and you were thankful. Under the table, Pea rested a hand on your knee, giving it a squeeze. You were happy.
The six of you were all happily joking, squeezed into a single booth. No one saw the man stood outside the diner watching. The relationship between you and Pea was growing stronger, it would make getting to you even harder, but he was determined to do it. One way or another, he would get his revenge.
“Only you can cool my desire,
Oh, I’m on fire.”

A/N: Yayy!! That’s it for my first ever fic!! Two things before I sign off though:
1) I don’t like the ‘wearing a guy’s shirt the morning after’ trope usually but I thought it was acceptable considering Pea’s 6′3
2) This may be the end of I’m On Fire but if anyone is interested, I might do a follow-on thing involving the Ghoulies and protective Sweet Pea. It would continue from this but I wouldn’t using these song lyrics anymore… Idk, let me know what you think and whether you would actually be interested… x

1. Do you enjoy being surrounded by neighbors, or would you be more comfortable someplace secluded? I don’t mind having neighbors, but the way my house is the neighbor to one side of us is like literally you walk out the front door and take a few steps to get to the neighbor’s door. The houses are way too close together. When my window is open I can hear them talking when they’re in their backyard. My neighbor is loud, too, and they have dogs that bark a lot. I want space between the houses and not be hugged up on each other. 2. Is there any sibling rivalry between you and your siblings, if you have any? Nope. Apart from my younger brother being a typical younger brother and annoying me when he was little, we never had problems. We were never the siblings that called each other hurtful names or fought or anything. We just get annoyed with each other sometimes, but that’s normal. He and I are quite close, actually. 3. Do you usually root for the good guys or the bad guys? It seems in TV shows and movies I tend to be a fan of the bad guys a lot. 4. Are you allowed to have pets at your house? Yep and we do.
5. Have you ever lived in a trailer park? No.
6. Is there anyone that you know through the internet that you would feel comfortable meeting in person? I’m just shy and awkward about meeting people in general, so. 7. Have you ever had a dream involving characters from a game/movie/television show? Yeah. 8. Do you ever have dreams about people you have never even seen before? It sure feels that way sometimes, but apparently our brains concoct images of people based on people we have actually seen before, even if just in passing and don’t even recall seeing. It could be some person you saw in line at the store or something. 9. What’s the last thing you wrote down? My signature. 10. Do you remember any phone numbers from years ago that now belong to someone you don’t know? My old house phone number. 11. How often does your household get numbers for the wrong people? Not often. Our landline just gets like telemarketers and doctors and such. Every once in awhile it’ll be a wrong number or scam. 12. Have you ever found something strange in your mailbox? Nope. 13. Is there anything specific you need to do within the next week? Yes. 14. What was the last movie you got from Netflix [if you use it]? We don’t rent DVDs from Netflix. We just stream them. 15. Are you annoyed by the increase in prices for Netflix? I didn’t know there was. 16. Who was the last relative that came to visit you? It’s been awhile, I don’t recall. I last went and visited some family a few weeks ago, though. 17. Does your bedding all match? Yeah. 18. Are you having company over the weekend? No. 19. Do people come to you a lot with their problems? Not anymore. 20. Have you/would you ever consider teaching as a career? I wanted to as a kid. I certainly don’t now. 21. Are you most comfortable with having short hair or long hair? Long. 22. Do you usually cut your hair short in the summer? Nope. I had short hair for years, but I got bored with it and grew it out. Now I can’t imagine ever going short again. 23. Are you interested in fantasy movies/shows? Some. 24. Have you ever gone whale-watching? Noooo. I have an irrational fear of whales. 25. What is something that you have a large amount of? Stuffed animal giraffes and knickknacks.

A Prayer For the Storm, a Shot of Vodka For the Fire | PT. 1
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: The night the tank room collapses, everything changes. Some are searching for forgiveness, and some are searching for each other.
GENRE: Angst. POWERS AU. (WARNING: Brief mention of character deaths.)
Length: 3K.
TRAILER HERE
------ PART ONE  ------
Monday
Maracaibo is quiet for a Monday afternoon. The lights around the town begin to spring to life and Jongdae tells himself to enjoy the tranquility while it lasts. When summer starts, the streets will line with tourists and researchers, all hoping to experience Lake Maracaibo's "eternal storm."
On some days, Jongdae can see the lightning from his apartment's balcony. Its been months but every time, he becomes transfixed by the luminescent rays. They envelop the sky, over and over again, and on the bad days, when his own powers flare inside of him like thunder in the dead of night, they also help hide the way he loses control. On the bad days, when the electricity bursts out of him, Jongdae wishes he could be like Maracaibo; a sight to behold rather than terror and tragedy.
He walks the aging streets of his make-shift home. He's grateful for the Venezuelan color that helps him repress memories of ashen training rooms and botched simulations, of fires and flying, of telling Minseok to go on without him. It's all different here. It's quieter, so much that on the good days, Jongdae pretends he's safe. On the good days, Jongdae enjoys the persistent heat of Venezuela and forgets about how much he loved the frost of winter, and how beautiful Minseok looked with snow in his hair.
He finds a seat at one of the local bars and keeps his eyes down as he orders his drink.
"Quien estas tratando de olvidar?"
Jongdae stiffens at the sudden question, his heart clenching in cold fear. The glass is frozen midair as he gets caught under the gaze of the timeworn bartender, and Jongdae's vision blurs with panic.
"Estas tomando a las 7 de la tarde. Qual chica te daño?"
Jongdae almost cries with relief. The old man is simply making conversation, asking about the possible flame that broke his heart, rather than the stormy past he ran fast and far from. He smiles, hoping the other man did not register his overt alarm.
"La chica es la vida. Ya sabe como es," Jongdae replies, hoping he didn't trip over his gender pronouns too badly. The bartender nods solemnly but gives him an encouraging smile before placing another glass of whiskey in front of him.
"A la vida, mi chavo. Que un día nos sepa amar."
Jongdae drinks to that-- "to life, who may one day learn to love us."
Tuesday
Sehun checks his rearview mirror once, twice, three times in the course of five minutes. He takes a detour home, a different one every night, and parks down the street instead of in front of his building.
He takes the stairs instead of the lift. He checks to make sure the thin, unnoticeable ribbon is still in the door before he opens it. This is how he survives.
He only turns one light on at a time. The wooden floors of his flat creak under his weight; he likes it this way. Every step reminds him that he's still standing.
Sehun makes tea--three sugars-- and two slices of toast. He wanders alone in the darkness of his apartment until he reaches the right room. There's only a chair and a desk and the walls are papered with newspaper clippings and red marks, each pin pointing someone Sehun is trying to find.
He opens his laptop and stays illuminated in the fluorescent light of the screen.
"EUROPE - frost." He types into the search bar.
"NORTH AMERICA - floods."
"NORTH AMERICA - fires."
"ASIA - lightning."
Sehun takes notes in a worn journal. It's the eclectic collection of sketched dates and throwaway coordinates. Most of them are useless; only a few of them give him hope that one day he'll find his family.
Sehun showers and sits in the empty ringing of his living room. There's no furniture, only a blanket and a sheetless pillow. He tucks his knees under his chin and stares out the only window he left without a curtain. The blue haze from the city around him filters through the open blinds, and Sehun remembers nights they'd sit together in the dark, after a successful training session, and contain their powers to the palms of their hands.
Sehun loved the way lightning would dance across Jongdae's fingers. He remembers when they were younger, Jongdae would touch one of them and they'd all laugh as Minseok's or Yixing's or Jongin's long hair would stand on end.
Baekhyun knew how much they all hated the dark. He'd illuminate their dorm with orbs of light that'd twinkle brighter every time he laughed. Sehun remembers how Chanyeol would keep the room warm, and Baekhyun would keep it vibrant.
As they grew older and their powers strengthened, became more volatile, they became more weary of their abilities. After the fire, Jongdae stopped touching people. Minseok stopped making snowflakes. And Chanyeol was sent to sleep in his own room. After that, Baekhyun could never hold the light for very long outside of training rooms. The orbs would illuminate the space for a few minutes, but then they'd flicker and die out. They all grew accustomed to the darkness like that.
Before going to sleep, he fills a glass with water, and leaves it next to his makeshift bed, just like Junmyeon used to do. Sehun lays down on the hard floor. He tucks a tired arm under a tired head and tries to hold on to the memory of Junmyeon singing him to sleep. Sehun is afraid of all the people hunting him down. He's afraid of the things he's done, of everything he could still do. But despite the tragedy in his wake, Sehun is terrified he'll never find the people who learned to love a tempest storm.
Wednesday
Minseok often only remembers running. He remembers the tank room collapsing. He remembers the way pine needles raked at his skin and how he could count the sharp rocks embedding themselves further into his bare feet. The earth trembled underneath them; somewhere, Kyungsoo was determined to die before they took any of them again. He remembers tugging on Baekhyun so forcefully, remembers how the wind howled in his ears louder and louder as Sehun panicked someplace else in the forest.
Minseok comes home with groceries that night. Baekhyun is asleep on the couch and Minseok can't help but tuck the worn blanket tighter around the younger boy's shoulders. Baekhyun can't seem to ever get warm enough. He shivers on sunny days, and Minseok always feels like he isn't doing enough. He knows before, Baekhyun always had someone as warm as fire to go back to.
He tries to measure his steps as he makes dinner but Baekhyun wakes up eventually. He's ruffled hair and blanket around the shoulders and Minseok's heart softens. He makes Baekhyun tea and tells him about his day, about the new drink he tried at the coffee shop, about the little old lady he helped across the street. He keeps talking, forcing himself to fill the empty spaces Minseok created when he ran through the woods and away from the sounds of rushing water, away from the echoes of thunder.
He steps away from the stove, stops to take a breath, and meets Baekhyun's nervous smile. Before he can say anything else, Baekhyun's voice cuts across the kitchen counter; shaky but determined.
"There was another dust storm in Edinburgh." Baekhyun says, and Minseok's jaw clenches.
"Another earthquake in Colorado. And people are--"
"People are what, Baekhyun?" Minseok interjects, feeling the clench of his heart, knowing he always has to play the villain in these conversations. "Seeing a disappearing man in London? Another fire in Arizona? I don't know what you want me to--"
"I want you to help me fi--"
"Baekhyun, please--"
"These aren't coincidences! Minseok--"
"Look-- we just cant--"
"They could be waiting for--"
"There's other natural disasters out there besides us, Baekhyun!" Minseok snaps, too loud, too harsh, regretting it as soon as Baekhyun flinches and goes quiet.
"I need you to let me mourn them," Minseok mutters. He turns off the stove and retreats into the silence of his bedroom. He lays in the dark, his stomach twisting with guilt, and he falls asleep as the tears begin to dry on his pillow.
Hours later, he jolts awake to the first crack of thunder.
It sends him spiraling. He fists the bed sheets as his mind flickers through memories and he becomes entrapped to his own recollections.
Brown eyes and easy smile.
"Hi-- I'm Jongdae."
Static.
"I'm sorry."
Static.
"I can't always control it."
Static.
"Min, are we gonna die here?"
Static.
Junmyeon couldn't control the water and Luhan was drowning; they were all drowning. A gentle hand in his, shocking life back into his fading heart. The walls of the tank trembling.
''JONGDAE! JONGDAE!"
"GO! TAKE BAEKHYUN AND GO!"
"It's okay. It's okay. It'll pass." Baekhyun's gentle voice soothes him back to the present. Minseok clutches Baekhyun's hand under the covers, and squeezes his eyes shut as the entire room blazes with the first bolt of lightning. These storms always trigger memories Minseok tries to let go of; they trigger his remorse, calling for penitence. Its unspoken, the way Baekhyun finds his way into Minseok's room to ease him out of his nightmares. This is not the first storm they've weathered together, and Minseok knows it is not the last.
Thursday
Yixing knows he shouldn't but he can't help it. He can feel the small child hurting. He can feel the pain, sharp and hot, radiating off of his skin as his energy wanes out. Its like watching a camp fire die down; this small boy is nothing but smoke and embers, and Yixing knows he's not going to make it.
Yixing knows his parents are in the lobby, praying, unaware that their child is on the brink of nothingness, fate sealed long before they brought him into the emergency room. He knows he shouldn't draw more attention to himself but the boy, with his short hair and lanky figure, reminds him of another boy, who couldn't always time his landing and had the record for most broken bones amongst them.
Yixing remembers the night the proctors forced Yifan to fly higher, forced all of them to watch. Sehun was barely four, and shaking with fear, his own powers agitating the sky until Yifan fell. None of them reacted in time and in his nightmares, Yixing can sometimes hear the shattering bones he was not strong enough to heal.
He places gentle fingers over the boy's cold hand and focuses. He was not able to save Yifan, but maybe he can save someone else instead. The room hums suddenly with warm energy, and Yixing can feel the young boy absorb his power, can feel his heart strengthening, can see the color returning to his skin. The boy takes in a gulping breath of air, and the monitors around him being to keep loudly. Yixing leaves the room quietly. Like on so many occasions, he makes his way to the camera room and erases the tapes from that room, on that day. The people of this hospital will accredit another miracle to God, and Yixing will sleep with a sounder conscience.
Friday
Junmyeon finds it ironic that the darkness feels like drowning. It sits heavy on his heart, reminding him of everything he's lost.
Once upon a time, he was rather good at isolation.  He was born in the institute. He had no family to be ripped away from. He jumped when they said jump, he ate when they decided he'd earned it, and he spent his first few years of life thinking the world was made up of their commands and his submission.
Sehun and the others changed that. The institute wanted them to be weapons; they tried to teach them to kill and maim, but in their hearts, they taught themselves otherwise. The deaths they encountered were always accidents, always the consequence to losing control. They never blamed each other. But whether it was the smoke, or the fall, or the tank, someone always felt at fault. Someone would always carry a single name on their conscience.
Junmyeon thinks of this, of his family, as he suspends two tons of water in the air. He remembers the tank room, the way the walls stood like gravestones, and the way he could not get them out. With a flick of his wrist, the water propels as a jet into the wall of the empty pool, cracking the concrete. He does it again, stepping back as giant shards of rubble twist through the air. If only he could've been strong enough to save Luhan.
He fills the pool and walks on water. This too is ironic. The Professor once told him he and the others would be like gods amongst men. Junmyeon knows these gods are vengeful, and one day, the people who hurt him will pay for their sins.
Saturday
"Energy cannot be created or destroyed; that is the basic law of the universe." The physics professor instructs from the front of the lecture hall. Jongin writes down information from the powerpoint. He takes careful notes despite knowing that the universe sometimes has loopholes; he's proof of that.
The lecture ends and the stooped hall begins to empty.  Jongin gathers his belongings and makes his way to the courtyard. He pulls his peacoat tighter around himself as the frosty England air stirs the leaves, and his eyes wander over the Oxford cobblestones; all mismatched, all placed around each other to create something coherent.
"Hey," Kyungsoo brings him out of his reverie. He holds a paper cup out to him, and Jongin scrunches his nose.
"I don't drink--"
"I know," Kyungsoo sighs. "Its peppermint tea."
Jongin smiles, adding a little bow of gratitude. He makes space for Kyungsoo on the wooden bench, and they sip their drinks in the silence. They watch other students pass them by; Jongin feels out of place amongst people who are so paradoxically ordinary.
"How was your lesson?" He asks Kyungsoo, who takes a comtimplary drink before answering.
"The professor read medieval lit again. It was interesting." Kyungsoo shrugs. "Yours?"
"She talked about the laws of the universe; said matter can't be created. I thought about Jun and Minseok. They created a type of matter, right?"
Kyungsoo looks at the sky. He avoids Jongin's questioning gaze.
"Logic doesn't really apply to us. I think we'd be considered anomalies."
Jongin only nods.
"Lets go home," Kyungsoo says and they make their way to the main street in a pensative quiet. They take a cab home; Kyungsoo never teleports with Kai. They both know it reminds him too much of the last time it happened.
The night the tank room collapsed, Jongin made one choice to change everything. The others laid around him, sputtering, trying to swallow down as much air as humanly possible when the alarms started blaring.
"The-- the fence! Jongdae! Short circuit the fence!" Minseok yelled, helping a shaking Junmyeon to his feet.
They'd all looked, panicked, at the fence that was on the verge of collapse but still humming with electricity. They'd talked about escaping. They'd all fantasized about living different lives where their gifts were not weapons. Each of them had dreamt a version of life where they could be normal, and this was their one chance.
The forest around them was illuminated by Jongdae's lightning but Jongin's gaze was focused on Luhan. His eyes were closed, his wet hair matted on his forehead, as he lay amongst the rubble; dead.
"They're coming! RUN!" Junmyeon ordered, and Chanyeol was the first to turn his power against the men clad in white security gear. The trees came toppling down, giant flares of fire consuming their old trunks, and the entire forest became a war zone.
The wind howled, loud, angry and frightened, and slabs of steel flew through the air with it. Jongin could see his breath as razor sharp icicles cut through their surroundings, embedding themselves in the guards firing their weapons.
Jongin was immobile, his ears ringing with white noise as the entire world shook.
Yifan. Luhan. Tao.
He couldn't fathom watching someone else he loved die. Not like this. Not again.
"JONGDAE! JONGDAE!"
"GO! TAKE BAEKHYUN AND GO!"
The earth trembled beneath him. Someone screamed in pain. The air was cloying with dirt and dust and the smell of sulfur.
"SEHUN! WE'LL FIND YOU. GO." Junmyeon ordered and Jongin was choking on his desperation, useless as the legions of men clad in white came closer and closer.
Not again.
Jongin made his choice. He prayed they would forgive him. He prayed one day he'd get the chance to apologize.
Jongin reached out and placed his hand firm on Kyungsoo's shoulder. The universe went black and dry and Jongin felt a familiar compression on his lungs before their feet were touching solid concrete.
"YIXI-" Kyungsoo's shout died in his throat. He whipped around, eyes wide and furious.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?" He snarled, rounding on Jongin.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, feeling the ground beneath him vibrate dangerously.
"TAKE US BACK. TAKE US BACK, NOW." Kyungsoo demanded, grabbing Jongin by the white collar of his uniform.
"I'm sorry." Jongin repeated, letting Kyungsoo shake him.
"HOW COULD YOU? HOW COULD YOU?" Kyungsoo screamed, and Jongin braced himself. He would take the brunt of Kyungsoo's fury, would take every angry hit, if it meant Kyungsoo was alive.
Instead, Kyungsoo fell to his knees. The sobs that raked through his entire body echoed down the empty street and Jongin only stood motionless. He prayed they would forgive him. He prayed one day Kyungsoo would forgive him.
Sunday
The room is black with smoke. Somewhere, someone is screaming for help but Chanyeol can't see anything, can't hear through the panic pulsing hot and red in his ears. The flames don't stop coming. They lick at his palms, set more of the world ablaze and he tries to close his fists but that only makes them stronger.
The curtains, the bed sheets-- everything around him is fire. He stumbles toward Baekhyun's bed, toward Jongin's bed; empty.
The dream shifts violently and Yixing is crouching next to Tao's body. Chanyeol wills himself to wake up; he's lived this too many times. Yixing concentrates and the room buzzes with a warm energy but as soon as it starts, it goes cold, like a graveyard, like a coffin, like wilted flowers in the middle of a winter freeze. The colors are draining fast from the world, turning sleep into nightmare. Yixing's voice echoes with familiarity, sometimes angry, sometimes disbelieving, sometimes full of so much grief Chanyeol wishes the fire were corporeal enough to scorch the memory away; "He's dead. It--it was the smoke..."
The real walls of his real life come into focus. Chanyeol tries to lie very still, but it feels like the shadows are crawling, unearthing a culpability he tried so hard to forget. He reaches over and turns on his bedside lamp; it's been two years and he isn't accustomed to darkness. He always had someone made out of pure light sleeping next to him. Chanyeol stares at the ceiling and wipes the sweat from his forehead. He ignores the taste of salt on his lips, the dry tear streaks on his cheeks.
"It wasn't your fault. We know you can't control it."
His movements are robotic, a monotonous whir of motion that barely get him through the day. Chanyeol never feels the cold of the tile floor, never even notices that the hot water stopped working in his shower weeks ago. He dresses in dry colors that never attract attention and makes his way to his small kitchen.
"Took you a while to wake up."
Chanyeol almost screams, his fists instantly sparking with orbs of flames as years of training kick into overdrive.
"Woah-- woah!" Sehun shoots up from the couch, his hands up in surrender. "Its just me!"
The air in Chanyeol's apartment stales and he drops to his knees, shaking his head in disbelief. The flames are extinguished. He's imagining this. He must be imagining this.
"Hyung?" Sehun whispers, frightened, the excitement in his heart deflating more and more with each second.
"This isn't real. This isn't real." Chanyeol whimpers, digging his nails into his palms. He spent weeks imagining Tao after the fire, all sad smile and empty eyes. Tao would never say anything, never throw blame, he'd just observe Chanyeol's life from the shadows, not letting Chanyeol forget.
"Hyung-- Its just me." Sehun tries again. He steps forward, kneels in front of his friend, and places a trembling hand on Chanyeol's shoulder.
"I'm sorry it took me so long to find you." His voice is an unsteady murmur, heavy with the sudden realization that they were together, after two years, Sehun wasn't alone anymore.
"Sehun?" Chanyeol's voice is quieter than a gust of wind, afraid, already broken.
"Yeah, its m--oomph!" Chanyeol doesn't let him finish. He launches himself at the younger boy and squeezes him in his arms. Sehun holds Chanyeol tightly, buries his face in the crook of Chanyeol's neck and half giggles and half sobs; relieved, ecstatic, and terrified all at once.
They both cry into the embrace, hearts swelling with unimaginable hope as the seconds tick by. Chanyeol's mind is buzzing, and he holds fistfuls of Sehun's shirt in his hands, pulling him even closer. Chanyeol wonders if this is what it feels like to be saved from drowning.
"Hyung," Sehun pulls away. Chanyeol runs his eyes over every aspect of Sehun's features, trying to memorize him, never wanting to forget any detail of this single moment.
"How did you find me?" Chanyeol whispers and Sehun gives him a tear stained smile.
"Google." He answers, before he's helping Chanyeol back on his feet.
"Hyung, the others. I know where they are."
Chanyeol takes a deep breath, deeper than any he's been able to manage in the past few years.
"Together-- we'll find them together."

Mark: rape victims. Theyre the most hurt out of all this and you keep thinking back to when you and Candy talked and you kept saying "Candy i need to do something about the rape victims. They need help" and she said "mom What about me?" And you said "candy all i know is i love you too much to know right now" and that was all. So, I'm thinking each race has barely enough tickets left. If we do the same as Woodstock on the teams. You know Matt Hagan's team has a guy who raped you yourself in the high school bathroom when you were trying to be "normal" and so. Im thinking eridacate those few make it safe for everybody before. Then when it's safe have tree insert free tickets and airfare what like a United airlines gift card and one for lodging with extra money on them of course to go on a separate trip later on their own someplace nice with their families, kids and soulmates, lost parents and siblings and more.
Me: mmhmmm
Mark: i know i lost you at DNA4U. Tree what is the percentage of rape victims not tested?
Tree: 2%
Mark: so see it will be perfect and tree can just email the rest.
Me: sounds good to me
Mark: and i will pay because you are truly running out. You only budgeted $4 Billion for the First Chandler of the Year Event. You're at $3.62 billion according to the trees calculations and i know youll add more midway because of the ones just beginning that hadn't earned all year. There's some special summer people the Tree sees coming in the future for the NHRA and associates. A whole entire family in human trafficking. Its Steve Torrence and you want to buy them a house and a few cars and a plane and butler and you're already out of money.
Steve: they can just live with me
Mark: your house isn't big enough
Me: let them pick a bunker location and we will remodel
Mark: what?
Me: my gramma went back and most of her bunker because they were so used to it and so many. If i build them what i think is the greatest house in the world, it won't be good enough. Im not like them
Mark: well i think you're wrong. They want out.
Me: the sunlight itself is damaging to the eyes. The weather changing all the time and it's so much to get used to the outside world. So i think Idk... Im not gonna assume. But my grammas is in the side of a hill and we put Windows in it. So there's many alternative opportunities that we can do. Im not trying to save money. I just want to spend it perfectly.
Mark: i know that's all you want to do. Jason Line's family has got out. And they're okay. I'm gonna expedite some people. I'll be back don't post yet.
Saint Luches: He's sexy. When she said his vein was popping.. Yum. Hey! I tap in her phone! I see her wallpaper! And it's his veins popping! Fucking hard!
Tumblr media
Fuck yeah man. It's life. Thoughts roaring through hos body at high rates of speed
Alex: that's all I was trying to say
Mark: i put video in for people i select in the DNA4U so they will have to check. They should ask you for help Alex. Okay? Even if yoh don't like them
Me: okay baby
Alex: got it baby. But only if yoh fuck me
Me: please. Pay me. First with a hard Dick then cold hard cash and gifts oh and feed me dinner.
Mark: feed me Seymour
Alex: i love you baby
Me: only me. Not that Saint Luches. He's mine.
Mark: will you two stop and listen to me
Me: only cause that vein is popping. Alright. what baby?
Mark: you make me laugh too much. Sabrina you know what to do. There is too many people still to attend the track so what do we do?
Me: well they will need to make room in the camps and double up in cars so there's enough parking and so they may be in the way of workers in the trailers.. So we will see if NHRA can make a special Chandler Love section
Mark: yeah let's decorate it with hearts..
Me: oh all romantic!!! Like white linen. Roses. Mmmm like dinner is that oyster romantic stuff
Mark: oh and cinnamon
Me: yeah cinnamon all floating through the air. We can put something on top of the trailer like a wax burner. Which will be perfect because a each cube really only lasts 3 days. So dump it out and get in the road.
Mark: yeah see yoh already have no money. You already got the candle wax and warmers and flower vases from me and tree. You and Candy arranged that in 2016. But you still need to buy flowers and you did have the families of special victims to take them home already. But not the vases, they wrap them in wet papertowls on the bottom of the stems then use wax paper they can later press the flowers into to have pressed flowers. So that is already budgeted in the $3.62B you have them going to local to the track homeless shelters.
Candy: oh dad i forgot that!
Me: how's it going there Chandler Bing?
Candy: call me Candy
Me: all right 007
Candy laughs surprised: mom!
Agent: alright they will be furnished by the CIA. Setting out tables and serving food
Mark: yeah we got real wooden tables and chairs. The chairs don't fold. They stack. Her dad made them.
Candy: oh dad!
Mark: her mom's idea. Jesse Tony was so shocked. He said "i know how to make those!" They're so beautiful with vines of love coming down. She really was in love with him again that day.
Me: :D
Mark: it happens, happiness. Ok. So then everything is fine. Alex you'll have to help Steve with his parents.
Alex: what about my parents?
Mark: this weekend since you can't have her Because she HAS to go to Columbia. Her children need since organizational skills.
Candy: that's good mom. You got to do that. She's killed him 4-6 times since you last saw him.
Me: I think she's like Alex. Into kink. She might be his daughter.
Alex: shit. I think she is
Saint Luches: whoooo the world we have on our hands
Me: this is how i just saw Alex in my head
Alex: don't you dare say what you just saw
Me: so hes all "you used to always wake me to eat. You'd give me a handy to wake me unless i was already out and and probably pretending to sleep and id pull you on to ride. Then youd feed me by hand the breakfast you made or dinner if It was ready and Saint Luches didn't tell you to wake me early. Then I'd tie you up on the weekends to the bed" that's what ive heard so far of our relationship in his eyes.
Alex: just the sex part! (He laughs) oh my god! I can't believe she said that about me
Me: that's not even... So I've been wearing pearls and hes all i want to wrap these around your neck so tight when we're fucking... But they're yours and they'll break so I'll buy you a different necklace to wear. A whole box
Saint Luches: whoo!! He went full kink!! Hes not holding back!!! Whooo weeeeee neat! This is gonna be fun.
Me: oh and i got all this saggy ass on my skin -- skin on my ass from that last 15 pounds i lost. He's all Saint Luches get this, hes all, i want to wrap my hands in it and just yank... Like its not attached to my body but then Saint Luches get this, im all okay sounds good because i can't even feel any thing there cause the nerves are all dead. Uh huh. I'm like yeah let's... Whatever you want baby.
Saint Luches: and you're serious!
Me: uh huh yeah
Saint Luches: that's what I know!
Me: so then last night he's telling me "I'm just gonna get a leash when you go to NHRA and put it around your neck", I told him that's too degrading in public bedside you don't want that any way. A leash and collar are boring. They're just standard. Pearls has control where you wrap around your fist and it's your intensity on your cock that makes you want to break the pearls. Its completely different. But i told him he can put a cuff on my wrist and leash me there because i know he really does want to leash me in public
Alex: i fucking do so bad!! I've always wanted to!!
Me: well people know who we are now so its not like walking around all randomly in NYC in a business coat. Suit and heels. With a spiked collar and leash... Besides you know the problems there... So a wrist is just an extension of your tiny short arm. And so in the current situation its applicable to chain me to him... But also Alex, you must remember if you're not looking some one can take it off me and put it on something else and you not even notice
Alex: yeah i know! That's happened and I heard you screaming and looked and then I was hooked to the fucking metal banister of the stairs you were sitting on and you were all the way down the street with 2 cars to pick you up
Me: I.... Uhh. Yep.
Alex: fucking mother Teresa kidnapped you said I was abusive in a sexual nature to you. So I started wearing the collar and I looked sexy, too. Maybe that's what we will do instead...
Me: if you want to baby. Mother Teresa had me so scared. I was afraid she would take off my clothes to find the bruises of you biting me and squeezing me so tight
Alex: she was going to until you told her you felt you were in a rape situation and told her to take off her robe which she did, all fucking wrinkled l nasty
Me: yeah and i told you to let's go Like 10 times and all yoy did was stare at her.
Alex: i was staring at her face! I was scared! Then sh3 dropped those mini blinds and I snapped out and I realized she was gonna fuck us on that table, you weren't kidding about her! God she was nasty. I don't even think she wanted to kidnap us. Just make us drugged and drunk and fuck us until her little shriveled ass dried all the way up.
Me: i told you
Alex: no! Dont say it!
Me: her pussy would always drip down her ass crack and she would never die unless someone killed her!
Alex: id rather talk about kink. And I didn't wanna talk about that either.
Me: we're supposed to be spending money. Help me. Ohhh kink for
Mark: no we got that! No actually we did. Star studded collars and shorter leashes and cuffs and also Abu in leather to strip. While walking around
Alex: oh my god. Did you really do that for me?! Oh my God!!!
Me: on a day too hot to wear clothes and waster hoses to water down t-shirts
Candy: mo-om!!
Me: we warn before hand and we got bathing suit tops -- string bikinis.
Alex: omg. Stop baby. Quit. Baby. Quit. Omg.
Me: and xl white t-shirt to 5x .
Alex: oh Fuck!!
Me: we got it all clean fun
Candy: and where are they gonna get dressed?
Me: by the water slides
Candy: well okay then!!!
Me: and we will have mud wrasslin
Candy: mom!
Me: please baby Like we weren't born in Alabama. Ut Its in plastic pools. We will have clean dirt brought in. So no little rocks or stickers or branches
Alex: oh my God! Why do i love you! This is why!!
Candy: mom! That is not what i want to do! But i want to watch!!.
Me: girl. You'll do it.
Candy: what--what?
Me: baby girl youll get to watching and you'll start wondering how that feels., like is the mud cold? Is it really so fresh? Like you can't watch a mud wrassle without wanting to get in. It's the law. At first youlk be all As long as it's not in my hair, but once it gets in there you'll be all fuck oh my God this mud is good you won't even, care. You'll start making yourself dreadlocks. For real. Its good shit,
Alex: that's so hot and heavy baby what else you got for me
Me: Alex. Its for my child! Every child needs a good mud puddle. She will go with her brother and sisters before anyone else gets in. Like off hours. During a private time. Just for employees and lovers. My children will play in the mud just like i let their sister Annabelle. Its my rule as a mom. But it's clean spa quality mud.
Candy: for real mom? Im gonna cry! I gotta walk away!
Me: you're welcome. I don't care how old And wiser than me you are you're my baby. Mark already bought everyone the tickets.
Mark: and some Columbian Abu that need to return to America and not to Columbia.
Alex: so when Sabrina comes. There will be whips and chains. This excites me.
Me: this way Every one knows the threat is present! No guessing! I'm here. Black leather is out. Whips.Whips. whips and chains. If Steve Torrence thought this weekend shopping was erotic and silly just wait, it gets worse and better! I bet we could put up an outfit for him. Get him topless, some long leather arm cuffs with fringe ... Chaps. Boots.
Alex: and what am i wearing?
Me: nothing. A loin cloth in public places,
Alex: shut up! You're Not kidding me are you
Me: i swear he just sighed with relief.
Alex: shit i did babe. I was like yeah! She's doing an new Animal house but animal. Leather is animal skin and she wull wear purple or pink or red zebra.
Me: it's caaaaaaaaavemaaan!
Alex: oh my God that was sexy. You know she iw the only 100% pure Neanderthal in the world. She has every single Neanderthal gene. No one else in the world does.
Me: mmhmmm Annabelle only has 75% because ironically yummy kinky bastard you only have 50%. If She's yours. But She has your lips
Alex: i know. And punishing attitude
Mark: it's because he evolved from bestiality.
Alex laughs: shut the fuck up.
Me: your face is too red for me to not to want to ask questions.
Alex: im a civilized caveman
Me: dont lie to me
Alex: i wear suits
Me: mmm
Alameaniae: great now can we get back to me? I kill my husband bring him to life and fuck him
Me: you're a healer and goddess of fertility. Its quite simple although authentically unknown around the world as many people try to mimic you without the known skill. But you're not evil. Just a Goddess of sudden powers that bestow truth and honesty beyond any means of life itself. You truly despise evil and you can't Fuck even your husband if he has even a dusting of evil on him. So you kill him and make him whole again.
Another killer daughter: Just like Saint Luches used to do to Sabrina. You all do. Even Mark.
Mark: WTF. I never did that to Sabrina. Saint Luches
Saint Luches: just that one time she went silent and didn't moan during sex.
Me: because i learned not to because it attracted attention from a child wanting to know what that noise was. Well IDK. Apparently its common in other relationships.
Tree: there is 1600 goddess to God relationships that are 100% that way. Mark never. Saint Luches on impulse. And Alex more often than not. Jesse Tony never.
Alex: hey I love the bitch, it's hot what can I tell you
Tree: but usually with Alex it's on accident, he's accident prone. But he heals all her scrapes and Bruises if he gave them to her or not. So he's only done it 45 times out of 648 sexual occurrences.
Me: it's passion. I usually don't feel it. Mostly I hop out because i do feel pain. And i know he doesn't want me to. Then i watch him fuck my dead body. Its very interesting.
Alex: I'd check my watch and see if it stopped. Check a wall clock to see how long she been dead then i tell her what the fuck are you doing dying on me? Where does it hurt? And then i heal it and she goes back to life, she's rhe sick one watching me fornicate on her dead self
Me: thats sexy as Hell.
Alameaniae: So all the rest of you are doing it on accident? Im doing it on purpose
Armageddon: currently there's 1600 of you purposely killing your spouse which is 0.000366% of the world. Which is quite interesting. You will be studied.
Alameaniae: okay! :)
Armageddon: usually that style of attitude we turn into cats, we were not aware why this was occurring but now we do. Because we fuck up and torture. So then you kill who you think tortured the most when we thought we were fulfilling a prophecy which we now know is a lie. Thanks to Sabrina and her attitude ans refusal to turn to lust to be her guide and instead strengthen love not only for herself but the world. Again as she did in the 1980s. And so now we will exclude prophecies as some are lies designed to take over the world which we now know in impossible. Due to the one actual full Neanderthal on Earth. Sabrina = Cleopatra = Lady Godiva = Goddess = S.Leigh and all hwr other names. Still her. Just like she said, you can change everything about the way she looks and the world around her but yoh can't change her. Its true and that isn't a prophecy. Its an anti-prophecy.
Me: because im awesome like that. All Neanderthal Gene!
Mark: baby You make laugh
Armageddon: and you did kill Sabrina Mark 2x. But the difference is you all do it during sex unlike the 1600. Saint Luches in the beginning because hes insecure he can fuck well enough. Alex at the end because hes certain she will run away. And Mark's two were accident related when they were interrupted (by rapists) and he was trying to hide what they were doing. I'm just saying there is a difference is all. And even still Alex doesn't do it on purpose. But Saint Luches will. 113 times out of 492.
Mark: Jesus Christ! God!
Armageddon: but Saint Luches was circumcised too far so sometimes he had pain and thought Sabrina could feel it as well.
Mark: oh
Armageddon: those 3 only lived together 6 months.
Alameaniae: God! She really is a nympho!
Me: and I advocate for Soulmates. Fix the issue with the cats please.
Armageddon: oh yeah hold on leg me call tree. Shhh.
Mark: He really uses his phone. That's so hilarious. You don't even know his number do you? Or mine or even Alex's. Not even Saint Luches.
Me: I dont even have their emails.
Mark: so we got rape victims, some human trafficking. No murdered but those come in. Abuse will be eradicated for some and educated to stop. We have all your other paperwork but most of the post -- well all till this one has been new
Me: ok. I'll rest. I still have till the weekend is up to add.
