childhood➵ he was born in a family that did not have much to their name, even less of a name to society, and he was the middle child of his siblings. before his dad passed, when axel was ten years old. he didn’t die or anything, he simply died to axel. his dad did share his passion for music with his children before never returning from the buisness trip he took. axel was the one who picked it up most the knowledge and almost instantly fell in love with playing the guitar. he also fell in love with the idea of being in a band one day. axel grew up listening to a lot of 80s heavy metal/music and watching a lot of older movies. when his dad vanished, and his mother turned to drugs to numb her sadness, axe; ended up turning a bit more rebellious than anyone could have expected.
home life/school life ➵ the older axel got the less he liked being called axel and preferred “axe” instead. things at home became harder as he became more of a rebel, much to his mothers dismay, he had a run in with the law once or twice. he almost got his mother arrested one day due to her pissing him off a bit too much that day, but ultimately he didn’t. he left home to live with his friends/couch surfing when he was nineteen. things in school were surprisingly good, though, because axe was actually very smart and often came out top of his class. he was easy to get along with and made friends with almost anyone. there were times he got into fights, suspended too, but ultimately he did end up passing in the top of his class.
dreams ➵ axe has always dreamed of two things; becoming a rockstar in a rockin’ band & becoming a forensic scientist and help solve crime cases. because of life neither one of those has been achieved just yet, but he continues to work on it! he now lives in roswell, new mexico while both working actively to seek out anyone wanting to join a band and as one of the managers at feel good records.

mateo cortez was born into a family that always seemed to have a lot of money, but up until he was older, he never did know why exactly that was. lucky for him, or unlucky depending on how you viewed it, he became the spark of his dad’s eye. anything he wanted his dad would make sure he had it.
the older mateo got the more he began to see the world around him for what it really was…just a pretty picture. his father was one of the main bosses for a latin cartel; the man was in charge of both transporting drugs and weapons to and from mexico.
he grew up with beautiful things around him, sure, but he also saw a lot of the bad things this world had to offer. he saw what happened to anyone who crossed his father, he saw how his mother, despite loving his father dearly, felt more trapped than happy in the marriage she was in. it all taught him a lot of things, but most of all, it taught him that no matter what he always had to be true to his heart in the end.
he doesn’t really date much and if he does it’s mainly because he is forced by his parents to give things a chance with said person for whatever reason. he always tells people to take his public relationships with a grain of salt but people never listen and always assume he’s just either scared of commitment or easily swayed from his partners. truth was, he didn’t have the heart to accidentally tangle someone up in his mess of a life.
he’s only ever had one ex that he’s held dear to his heart, but his father hated them. as a result he wasn’t able to make the relationship last, but it’s one he looks back on fondly. (wc soon to be posted)
he’s fun spirited, sarcastic for days, and loves dark colors. however, despite his love for the paranormal and creepy, christmas is his favorite holiday and halloween comes close second.
despite the fact that his father does expect mateo to fill his shoes after he passes, mateo tries to stay as far away from that life as he possibly can. he’s currently been a animal caretaker at puhlman’s ranch for about two years now and he doesn’t see himself wanting to really leave the position. he loves caring for the animals, helping them deliver their babies, tending to them when they are sick, and all he wants is to continue doing that for the rest of his days.
his sexuality is uncertain to him. he’s never really known that part of him. on one hand he understands his father wants him to eventually have his own kids and settle down so as to carry the family name on and on the other hand mateo himself isn’t too sure he’s looking to have the family his dad quiet pictured in mind. he’s had a couple of boyfriends on the down low here and there, secret hook ups, but for the most part he tries not to overthink things. who knows, maybe he will end up with the perfect wife and life one day after all.

Reynard and Reba eloped right out of high school, cutting ties with their families and moving to Roswell so they could finally live out their school dreams of starting a family together. They spent years trying to have a child each time ending in tragedy. Just when it began to feel hopeless amongst the two, Phoenix was born. The doctors said Phoenix wouldn’t survive the first week. But they did and they survived another then another and another. Until an entire year had passed. Nix was their parents' blessing and they truly treated Nix as such.
Nix grew up spoiled, given everything they could ever want. It would be expected that they’d wind up rotten. But the Chaplin household was a kind household, a loving household dedicated to their community. With Reynard a firefighter dedicated to protecting those in his community and Reba a veterinarian hoping to bring joy to every home of Roswell. Together the two raised Nix to be just as loving with their community as they both were.
Nix was always a bit of an odd child. Like most children they were introduced to the fantastical at a young age with stories of fairies, dragons, goblins and the like. Unlike most children they never really lost their interest in the fantastical. Instead they kept believing that somewhere fairies had to exist, at some point dragons must have been real, all these fantasies they loved had to exist. The world couldn’t be as boring as it seemed. Their interest in the fantastical soon spread beyond fairies and goblins and dragons. Living in Roswell they were always surrounded by the alien culture that came from living so close to a famous crash landing site. When they were old enough to read on their own they began to read books on the extraterrestrial nonstop. Following reading of extraterrestrials soon came an interest in the paranormal, the unexplainable. It only fueled their belief that more was out there, more HAD to be out there.
They didn’t make many friends, having trouble understanding how socialization worked with others. Always feeling like everyone had a certain rule book for socializing that they didn’t have. That everyone else knew how to socialize while Nix simply did not. It didn’t help that they spoke mostly of the fantastical, aliens, fairies, horror and other oddities of life. However they did make a few friends and the few friends they made were lifelong one’s.
Including Nix’s best friend who they’ve known and been close with since middle school. Their friend never judged them or made fun of them for their odd interests, never cut them off from their long discussions of the whimsical. Likewise Nix was always there to listen to their friend to offer a helping hand whenever needed and share smiles with them for years to come. Over time something began changing in Nix. Their feelings for their friend deepened to more, a lot more. Feelings they don’t know if they want to share with their best friend.
Their life was happy for the most part, the town knew them and their family well. When tragedy struck, a fire that got out of control took Reynard from the Chaplin family when Nix was only fifteen. It didn’t tear the family apart, it pulled Reba and Nix closer if anything else. But it did shut Nix off from the rest of the town. The town that tried to support them during a difficult time. They greatly appreciated it and loved that their community wanted to be there for them. But at the same time they felt that they had to put on a brave face for the community, for their mother. The community who’d lost a hero and their mother who’d lost the love of her life. Meanwhile, burying the fact they’d lost their father.
Things became difficult for the Chaplin family after that. To keep from losing the house Reba took more shifts at work. While Nix began working at the Space Invader Arcade to help pay the bills. The two saw less of each other neither realizing how hard the other was taking the loss. Both trying to be strong for the other without ever actually talking to the other. Maybe if they’d talked more Nix would have seen how sick their mother was getting.
They never found out about how sick their mom was until the hospitalization seven years later. Reba fell at work one day. Nix was called at work to come to the hospital. The doctor said their mother had a brain tumor, it would have been noticed sooner had she gone to a doctor. Instead blaming the symptoms from it on stress and powering through it. Nix began working more to pay for their mother’s hospital bills and to pay for their house. At the same time visiting their mother everyday spending more time at the hospital than at home. Five months later however, Reba was gone and Nix was alone.
Nix planned the funeral, called their estranged family, did everything to see their mother off. And in the end their uncle’s took them to court to fight their mother’s will. It wasn’t much but it was enough they wanted to fight for it. The hospital bills, the lawyers, the court case, it drained Nix of what little money they had left. In the end they even forfeited their mother’s will to their uncles just to stop the fighting.
They moved from their home to a trailer at Tripp’s. They wound up selling most everything that belonged to them and their parents. Trying to bury what they’d lost. Trying to act like it didn’t affect them, coming off as cold to their parents' loss. It didn’t help that they never wanted to talk about what happened either. Not even with their best friend or with the person they were dating. Like they just didn’t care about what happened. But they did. They just didn’t want the town bringing it up, hoping if they ignored it then the town would too.
Their silence lost them the love of their life though. The refusal to talk about what was happening or reach out, caused a rift between them and the person they loved. It didn’t kill their relationship entirely, they stayed friends. But the trust their lover had in them was lost.
It’s been three years since the loss and two years since the breakup. Life has returned to as normal as it can be for Nix. They adopted a pit bull who they named Ned, are still happily working at Space Invader’s Arcade and living out of their Trailer at Tripp’s. They try to remain as upbeat as ever, continuing their belief in magic. But still don’t talk about what happened, when it’s brought up they tend to brush it off. Claiming they’re okay that it’s in the past now. Yet it’s fairly obvious they’re not as okay about it as they say they are.

“I will rain so much legal brimstone on this school that it would make God jealous,” she said before taking her daughter out for ice cream. The crime? Punching a fellow student for bullying.
The daughter of two powerhorse lawyers, Jade Sullivan was raised not to tolerate nonsense from anyone. They wanted her to make a mark on the world, telling her to never go quietly. It wasn’t her grades they were impressed by; rather, it was the way she connected with people even from a young age, always fighting the good fight.
It was obvious what captured her attention as a young girl: soccer. Each year, she looked forward to summer simply because she could play every day without school to distract her. She kept telling everyone she’d make it big one day. If Jade Sullivan put her mind to it, she made it happen. Her parents knew she was not one to be underestimated, and put whatever resources they had to ensure her dreams came true.
“She’s too intimidating,” they said.
They always seemed terrified asking her out -- but those brave enough were quickly passed over, her interest in them minimal and fleeting at best. For the longest time, she figured it was due to her ambitious nature. Why date when she could focus entirely on her future? Once everything clicked, everything clicked. Coming out was a mixed bag of reactions in her family, some of them wondering why she insisted on making her life harder by being out and proud.
Popular simply because she looked out for everyone and if you fucked with her people, she fucked with you. She was nice until she wasn’t. Sometimes it meant a good, swift punch and sometimes it meant ruining your life through psychological means -- ruining your reputation, getting you kicked off the team, providing receipts to the parents. Her popularity meant she had eyes and ears everywhere. She was the kind of woman people owed favors to because she used them to help other people. Putting her high school soccer team on the map was merely an added bonus.
An unfortunate injury as a result of a freak car accident derailed her chances of being recruited to a national soccer team. Doctors said years of physical therapy was needed to return to a sense of normalcy. In the midst of it all, she had an unfortunate falling out with her parents due to her refusal to go to therapy for her post-traumatic stress disorder. The accident didn’t just hurt her physically; it took a toll on her mental state.
The woman had too much ambition not to make it big somewhere. With a natural affinity for manipulation and putting a spin on stories, she went to one of the best colleges for public relations. Taking on a full course workload while going through months of intense physical therapy was the Jade Sullivan way. An internship with a major league sports team turned into a full fledged career after graduation. She would soon find out a former classmate, who had found success with the team, insisted on her hiring, having regaled stories from their high school years. It was a frustrating thing to know because of the casual racism put on display -- she had been nearly passed over for a white man with less qualifications.
Her ambitious nature and work ethic had her climbing the ladder over the years. Despite not being at the top, she’d consider herself as the person running things due to her subtle machinations and blackmail material she held over them. She was friendly with those on the ‘lower rung’, so to speak -- they liked to talk. And naturally, she was more than happy to listen.
After seven years of working her life away, she had rendered herself important enough to request working from ‘home’ in Roswell, only coming in for meetings with the upper echelon of the team.

sloane, also/sometimes called soso. from a somewhat affluent and successful, authoritarian family, with a lot of expectations on her shoulders. she sort of outran those and her entire past and ended up on another/preordained path but ayyy.
went to business school as her parents wanted her to.
the middle of 3 kids to her parents. she walked that thin line between doing what she wanted (aka rebelling like her younger brother, and being the obedient/good daughter, like her older sister), and sort of felt alienated/squished into her family dynamics for a long time.
(/tw here for some homophobia) she is a lesbian and after years decided to come out to her family. it generally didn’t go well, but she and her sister grew a closer bond out of it. they were never close as kids but as adults they were able to share more and understand each other better.
she became a photographer eventually, despite her business degree, because she decided to do something for herself for once.
her sister moved to roswell for a while all on her lonesome.
fast forwarding to make this intro more succinct, but her sister went missing after a year or so.
eventually, sloane got up the courage to follow her through the mysterious circumstances, to try to find out what was going on for herself. partially just to be closer to the memory of someone she loved who she felt she had lots of regrets and missed opportunities with.
she’s been in roswell for like a year herself. seems no closer to finding out clues to what happened to her sister. she still puts up fliers, posts online, and hasn’t really given up. but she is jaded about it all and has no idea where to go from here. she’s close to burying the lead and all her reserves and just giving up.
she’s not really content with her life and her emotional state is a disaster.
she’s a low/sweet/soft spoken woman, but not shy or reserved about her thoughts or her opinions. now more than ever she wants to be an authentic person. whether that means pissing people off, living however she wants, doing crazy things, slowly devolving into a crazy conspiracy theorist or not.
very thoughtful, very artful, very cautious with her energy and her time. she’s emotionally walled off despite coming across as open. especially when it comes to romance. she plays a strong game like she’s interested, but she’s the quickest to ghost. very not interested in being the one who gets hurt or in losing someone else. in a way? afraid to love tbh.

her parents named her after the character from legend of zelda, a game that she has never actually played herself. she’s at least grateful that her parents didn’t name her after one of their other obscure interests.
she was born in roswell, but spent most of her young life traveling with her parents to different conventions until they finally decided to settle down when she was six so she could start school
her parents actually tried to homeschool her for a year beforehand while they were out on the open road, but they were ultimately too distracted by their own chosen career paths and their teaching methods weren't exactly conventional
her parents are bigtime conspiracy theorists. you might have read their books (or you probably haven't because they were all self-published on amazon). they originally started as nonfiction, everything from the roswell incident to the majestic 12 and the montauk project, but have eventually started to expand their library to include dramatized fictional novels of those events as well.
despite being an only child, she never gave into the hype. she was bored from going to convention to convention to spending family holidays in oregon trying to find bigfoot. she became a cynic and someone who preferred the facts and evidence as opposed to conspiracy theories. though she did get a kick out of debating with the various people she would meet at said conventions.
after she graduated from high school, she spent one semester at college before dropping out and moving back home. she tells everyone that it wasn’t all that interesting and didn’t want to waste the rest of her youth in debt, but really she just panicked over the idea of trying to figure out what she wanted to do for the rest of her life
she’s something of a failure to launch. after skipping out on college, she has been working odd / part-time jobs ever since. her longest and current job is working as a cashier and stocker at the supermarket
in the last few years, she finally moved out of her parents place but still has to have a roommate because she cannot afford to live on her own. granted, her parents had been back on the road since she turned eighteen and was able to fend for herself, so she had essentially been living on her own since then. the only difference now is that she gets a say in the decor (as one can only imagine what the home of two conspiracy theorists/self-proclaimed nerds would look like). too bad she doesn’t have any sense of interior design
unfortunately, she’s still working at the supermarket, and while it would be nice to one day after her shit together, she has little hope that the day will ever come

BIOGRAPHY
Before the twins were born, Daniel and Rosine Isaacs had a nice normal life. They met in high school and dated all throughout high school. Daniel had always been big into military life, and after graduating high school, he joined the air force. He and Rosine got married after his basic training. For a while they traveled, but eventually Daniel got stationed in Roswell. A year later the twins were born. Basil is the younger of the two.
Growing up, Daniel always wanted his two children to grow into his military legacy. He put a considerable amount of pressure on his son to be a sporty and outgoing kid, but it was clear that Basil was not going to grow into that boy. Although his father still continued to push that notion on him, even when Basil got old enough to be able to verbally dispute the ideas his father had for him.
For Basil, exploration came from reading. He wanted to see what was out there, sure, but the his love of adventure was mostly found in the books he read. Rosine read to him every night until he was old enough to read on his own. His library grew as he got older and there was hardly a book that Basil didn’t at least consider reading. The art of story-telling came pretty naturally too, as even at a young age he’d tell stories.
Although his father was never a fan of Basil writing, he tolerated it because at least it usually kept his son out of trouble. There was a certain way that their family had to behave. Most of the time Basil did his best to stay on his best behavior, but there were times when he had to do something to see if it was possible for whatever story he was writing and his father always ended up getting angry and upset that Basil was causing trouble to write a story. Still, Basil never changed, assertive about who he was and what he wanted.
He branched out a bit in high school, making some new friends and watching his sister thrive in her own interests. For Basil though, he still tended to stick with the same group of people all throughout his four years.
He went off to college as close to home as he could manage and graduated in three years rather than four. Basil got a job as an assistant librarian and is working on his master’s degree on the side. His father was not entirely happy that Basil did choose to pick a career in library science even if Basil had been saying from a young age that’s where his interests were.
TLDR: His father is a big military guy who is disappointed that his son is not the same, but Basil is bookish and prefers reading and writing.

BIOGRAPHY
They were raised by a single mother and her own family. For the most part, their life was as normal as could be until the age of five when Sofia decided they were interested in acting as well as dance. Thus their career began. Living in Los Angeles, it wasn’t unheard of that parents would take their children in to different studios for auditions and Sofia was much of the same.
Although their career was slow to start, mostly background roles in television shows, eventually they stuck some bigger roles. Sofia became a regular on a popular children’s channel show until eventually they were given their own show and only gained in popularity.
Family was always important to Sofia. Their mom, being a single mother, worked hard to keep them happy and for it Sofia has always been grateful. It took a village of people to raise them. And since their dad had never been in the picture, Sofia has never really been curious about him. For the most part their grandmother and barrage of aunts and uncles helped keep the family together and stepped up with Sofia’s mother was stressed.
Speaking of Sofia’s mother, she is a lawyer, so between dropping her kid off at auditions and rehearsals, she’s often tired. But Sofia never minded because getting to spend any time with their mom was important enough. Their relationship has always been a close one and Sofia’s mother is their number one supporter.
School was always been something that Sofia has tried to put an effort into. The subjects that they were interested in were all over the place, from maths to the arts. They were mostly taught by private tutors on set, but also eventually went to a private school as well as being raised in a Jewish household (meaning they got a Jewish education as well).
Upon turning twenty, the network they signed with officially cancelled their show and for a while, Sofia was not sure what to do. They had contemplated looking for another job, but in the end did some traveling for a couple of months and then applied to a couple of colleges.
Sofia ended up moving to Roswell and is a full time student online. They choose Roswell to get away from the bustle of city life and have always been interested in living in the desert.
TLDR: former child star who moved to Roswell recently to get away from the bustle of Los Angeles and get a degree in Geology.

delilah zhào was adopted into a broken family, even if her family seemed put together from the outside looking in. to everyone the zhào were the perfect foursome. one mother, one father, a handsome son, and a beautiful daughter. the zhào kids were your typical kids for the most part.
growing up delilah has always followed her mother as much as possible, regardless of how cruel she could sometimes be. the idea of a marriage she tried to cement in delilah’s mind was one in which she needed to find someone who would support her no matter the hardships and in order to do that she needed to remain a certain size, stay in a certain mindset, and learn how to follow direction. despite how much control her father had in her house, especially when it came to her, she still kept a bright smile to the outside world.
delilah had always been someone who had a light she wanted to share with those around her. she was that ‘mom friend’ in her group of friends, or the ‘sister friend’ to many of her guy friends, and she chalked it all up to the way her mother raised her to be. she was nurturing by nature but she learned to care more for others than herself thanks to her mother and a bit of it also her father.
delilah discovered her passion for writing at a young age. it was something she used to escape her reality and allow herself to dive into a world of her own. her parents both seemed to always disapprove of her ‘silly dream’ of wanting to be an author, but in her heart, she kept the dream secretly locked away.
she was 28 when her life would change forever. fernando rojas-a name she would come to both love and be saddened by. things went hard and quick for the two of them, it felt like a whirlwind romance straight out of a movie. at first, it was everything delilah thought she wanted. her mother was proud of her, her father approved, she didn’t really know what her brother felt, but for once it finally felt like life was coming together. but as they continued their journey with one another, things in delilah began to grow with them. her confidence sparked up which allowed her to be a bit more adventurous, especially in her work. despite being excited at the news of her falling pregnant, with a beautiful daughter, the longer her pregnancy went on the more things began to change again. as fernando’s dreams began to grow into a reality, despite how happy and supportive she was, a part of her did feel her heart break a little. she was excited to be a mother, and a wife, but the idea of losing her dream had hit her harder than she thought it would.
it was around when their kid turned 11, settled into a nice home with her loving husband, running the nebula eatery, things going seemingly perfect when suddenly the opportunity for her career to finally take off in the direction she had only ever dreamed of before came up and despite the way it broke her heart, delilah found herself taking the steps she needed to finally make a choice for herself. but it didn’t take long, at all, for her to also hate herself for what she had done. she needed to go on the road to promote her newest suspense novel that had been a hit, even if it caused some waves at home, she left but kept in touch with meilin the entire time. the longer time passed the more delilah felt like she was both holding fernando behind by being in a marriage with her, guilty for leaving meilin for a year with her father, and like she was missing all her opportunities to be in her child’s life and so she turned to writing children’s books. in a way, it was like she was reading her kids a story but also sharing it with the world.
NOW: currently she has recently returned to roswell aftter being on tour, having returned two months ago. all she wants is to work on her next book and be the best person she can possibly be. more importantly, she wants to be the mother she robbed herself the chance of being for that year. while she knows that will require a lot of hard work, it’s something she’s not going to back down from. and she’s also trying to process how to get through a divorce with a man she truly doesn’t want to leave but knows she probably isn’t good for him now either. despite her being in contact with her child, she has yet to talk to fernando himself. in the mean time, she’s working on another book, being the best owner nebula eatery has seen (trying to be), trying to save up as much money as possible so eventually she can get a nice house in moonbeam gardens.
personality: very outgoing, friendly, nurturing by nature. she is the kind of person who will come see you at 3am or pick the phone up if all you need is someone to vent to or laugh with. she loves 90s punk rock, horror movies, rom-coms, comedy, and a lot of nerdy things. she’s been told she can be a bit flirty but it’s not on purpose, at this point it’s just part of who she is.

mini bio.
a true rags to riches story, ashley suarez grew up with pretty much nothing, in a tiny apartment with his family. at a young age, he discovered a love for soccer - and, even more so - the praise and accolades he received for his talent. he spent countless hours working on perfecting his game, until, eventually, he became an actual pro at the sport, playing for one of the best teams in the league.
unfortunately, that all came to a halt recently when, during a major match, his leg became badly injured, leaving him at least temporarily handicapped. currently, he has to use a cane to get around while he’s recovering, and is unable to play the game he loves. without his career to keep him focused, his partying had begun to get even more out of control than before - something he was often in the tabloids for, especially after a big win - which is why his manager suggested he get away, and find something to put his attention on besides just getting wild.
despite not even remotely having his life together, ashley is spending his time off working as a motivational speaker, giving advice to hopeful athletes, as well as those who hope to reach the level of success he has. there’s a slight chance he might still be in a bit of denial about the severity of his injuries, and plans on returning to his team as soon as possible. though he is recovering, it’s taking far more time than he hoped, and his frustration over the situation is only increasing.
