hi!! I got your ask, dw! it's just that I'm heading off with family this week and ran out of time to dedicate to properly answering it before then (whoopsie)... I'll get back to you once I'm able, promise!

they're different subjects, yeah, but I linked it as an example of what fetishism is (as a concept); it's easier for me to do that then spend another 500 words explaining the intricacies of how people are attracted to the severely mentally ill because they are the Other and therefore Scary and Exotic in equal measure, and racism is by far the most prominently discussed example of this subject... so I compromised!

I'm very sorry if that made things confusing! I have a bad habit of jumping two steps ahead of a conversation, and assuming that everyone is making the same leaps that I have... I'm working on it, OTL. but yes, it's just to give you a basic explanation of what it is. I would say that you're free to dm me if you need anything more in-depth but uh that card is kind of off the table rn so guess we'll both die?

my prof just explained on the syllabus that he’s included more points in the class than we needed to pass, so we could skip up like?? 20 small assignments/quizzes/participation!! and still get a very high grade!!

the idea was that we could focus on assignments that played to our strengths - only do the participation stuff if we like to talk out loud - only do the quizzes/readings if we want to do the class remotely - only do online discussions if we like to talk and share opinions but struggle with anxiety in class ect.

and that’s cool enough but then he pulled up DnD character sheets with drawings he’d done of these hypothetical student player classes and how our various accessibility needs could be gamified to ‘max out’ different aspects of the class to get high grades and like!!!!!

hell yeah!!!! let’s treat accessibility in higher education not just as a necessity but as the fun, engaging, and creative aspect of learning that it is!!! I love this!!

a small child came into the café today and asked to buy a chocolate truffle. he tapped a credit card on the reader and it did not go through, mainly because it was not a credit card but in fact a junior cinema pass. i gently explained he couldn't use that to buy things in shops and he looked so gutted that i was like "...but just this once you can have it for free, don't tell my boss though" he said thank you and walked out with his truffle and as he went i heard him chuckling to himself and saying "yes..... yes!!!!!" like the sickos comic
