I've seen many people shit on the live action atla ((as we should this is such a bad adaptation and honestly a mid show in itself)) but I haven't really seen people talk stuff about Sokka and Suki
And I want to point out a couple of things that I absolutely hated about what they did to them in live action.
1. The kiss
I hate that they made them kiss at the end of the episode. I hate it so much. Like yes, in the original they both clearly had feelings for each other (especially that later Suki talks about losing sb very important to her, who we know was Sokka), but they weren't rushed like that.
In the original they both grow so much between their meetings. Sokka finally gets together with a girl (not the first girl he meets that's his age, like Suki), kisses sb for the first time, travels the world, meets new people and in general matures.
We don't know much about what Suki is doing during that time, but we know she finally does sth that helps people during war, sth that she said was important to her. She can finally put her skills in leadership to greater use and she feels great about it. She also matures during that time and we know that she still thinks about Sokka and misses him.
Them kissing immediately makes their relationship so much more bland and just... flat.
2. If they make all three seasons, we will probably not get the most iconic line of the show...
Because now Sokka's first girlfriend is technically Suki...
3. The whole scene with Suki teaching Sokka
I cannot empathise enough how important Sokka's sexism is in their relationship. It's something that Suki fixes in him, something she manages to show him... by absolutely kicking his ass. In live action... the fight scene next to those melons was a joke not a fight scene if I can be honest. Idk if it's the writing or the choreography or the actors but it looks so fake and just so bad 💀 And she attacked him while he was still "stretching"??? Suki would never.
What is this 💀💀
But the most important scene, and the one I hate the most in live action, is the one where Suki teaches him a very sacred and traditional and important to Suki and to her culture way of fighting.
In the original, Suki highlights that no man should learn their art and only after Sokka begs Suki to teach him does she agree.
But not without a very important piece that was fully missing from live action which baffles me so much.
The entire armor, the dress and make up.
Not only is it incredibly important to upholding the traditions and keeping the cultural aspect important, but the beautiful, might I add, outfit gives us the depth of Kyoshi Warriors that is just missing from the live action.
"The silk thread symbolizes the brave blood that flows through our veins. The gold insignia represents the honor of the warrior's heart."
It's beautiful. It's meaningful for both of them. It's important. And it's also a way for Suki to mess with Sokka which we love and stan.
I ALSO DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SUKI TOOK OFF HER MAKE UP FOR THE ALMOST KISS AND THE KISS. It's not like being a Kyoshi Warrior is sth that's bothering her. NO. She's incredibly proud of it!! So. why. take. an. important. part. of. it. away. for. some. stupid. kiss.
WHY NOT GO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION?? Instead of her taking off her make up for the romantic scene why not just... put make up on Sokka... honestly what's more romantic than putting make up on your crush.
They could have made such a beautiful and intimate scene between these two.
Them sitting in front of each other. Suki putting on Sokka's make up, while either talking about herself or about how important this whole set up is for her and her culture. I wouldn't mind it then because it would give their relationship some depth instead of "omg he's so pretty" "omg she's so pretty." *kiss*
But no. Instead they kissed right next to a group of people (including Suki's mother which just makes is so much more weird) after Suki said sth about Sokka showing her a bit of the world.
And I hate it so much.
It takes away the part where Suki teaches Sokka something very important, something that changes his personality, helps with his arc to Sokka "showing her a bit of the world". How?? With what?? It's not like he took her away from the Island itself or introduced her to his culture. No. He just... showed up and kissed her.
Great writing.
And don't get me starter on the "I'm not just a warrior. I'm a Kyoshi Warrior" line. It's a good line. It really is. But it would be better if the producers actually focused on Suki being a Kyoshi Warrior and not just a girl that has a crush on Sokka.
And while it's compared to "I'm a warrior. But I'm a girl too"... gods I... ughhhhhhh
So yeah. I hated it. I hated the show. All I have to say is:
They ruined my favourite couple. They ruined many great characters. They completely missed the point of the original story.

“Wait, there are people blaming the writers?”
Are you surprised? Fandoms have become notorious anti-writer spaces. Studios love you guys. They can cut the budgets, cut the number of writers, cut the wages of the writers, and you guys always blame the writers. “The writers ruined the show!” It’s never “the studios ruined the show.”
I hate to break it to you: more than half the shows you complain were “ruined by the writers”, were ruined by the studios. Studios cut the scenes and arcs you were excited for. Studios cut the budget of the show, or even raise the budget of the show and force a “bigger, louder, bolder” tone on shows that were unexpected hits (this is where we get “the Netflix look” on every show post-Stranger Things and Queen’s Gambit).
You guys do not do your research. Half your fanfics are tagged with bad faith digs at the writers, when a few searches would reveal how strapped that show was and how poorly the writers were treated. Writers are being given a 10 weeks to write 10 episodes. How are good arcs and scenes supposed to happen under that time limit, with a max of only four writers?
Tumblr, the self-proclaimed “pro-union, pro-worker, pro-artist” site is also a major fandom site. You guys rarely practice good faith consumer etiquette for television and film writers, because your fandom salt always turns you against writers. And studios love you for it.
Yeah, individual writers do create bad writing from time to time. But so do painters, chefs, and musicians. Directors and actors sometimes refuse to film certain scenes or follow a show’s projected style and arc, and the writers always get the crap for a bad performance or a poorly directed episode. This isn’t to blame actors or directors; it’s to point out that you guys have one villain, and it’s always the writers. You guys never give writers the same grace you give animators, designers, directors, actors, composers, and editors.
Studios love you every time you say “the writers ruined the show.” Every single popular fandom is guilty of this. View any of the “why did the writers cut this scene, they hate my characters” talk when leaked scenes hit the internet. Writers barely get paid for what they do write. You think they’re writing scenes and then happily throwing them in the shredder? You guys just eat the talk that studios put out. Always have.

The lady rolled her eyes and started asking questions about guitar lessons for her son or daughter or some shit, she wasnt really paying attention to the nonsense floating from her mouth.

Ellie wants to walk over to you, and talk to you but shes scared. What if she says the wrong thing? What if she freaks you out? What if you think shes a weirdo.. Thinking about how the live action Arlong Park just ends with Nojiko being like "wow I've hated you most my life so not wanting you to die is gonna be a new experience for me" like oh my god it sucks so bad why did they do that to her
Don't get me started on how OPLA treated Nami's story because I won't shut up (literally I have a whole post about it).
The reason why they did that to her is because Netflix writers suck and they wanted to make it ohhh so dramatic and create angst between the sisters when it doesn't make any fucking sense. That's it. That's literally it. Most of the decisions that completely suck in the live-action exist because of the reasoning of "this will make things more popular with the general audience" and that's it. Also, yeah, I know some stuff doesn't have to be exactly like in the manga because otherwise it'd be the same thing and people want new content, but the changes they made in Nami's story were fundamental for her character, and tbh I think they portray her in such a bad light. Just-- It makes me so angry as somebody who relates a lot to her character and loves her so so much. But anyway, not like I expected anything from Netflix. My relationship with OPLA is a love/hate relationship and I pretty much only like the cast and the aesthetic and watching my blorbos running around and doing stuff.

before i say anything, PLEASE DON’T TAKE MY OPINIONS SERIOUSLY! i’m coming to y’all mostly in a joking tone like it’s all chill. i like the show and enjoy watching it but yeah without further ado!
rtte. when i was younger i had a love-hate relationship with it. there were many things i didn’t like but i kept watching cause we still had a long wait for thw and i NEEDED httyd content. of course there were things that i liked but yeah.
rewatching it now, i realized i might’ve been over exaggerating! to be fair, i’ve always been a dramatic person so there’s no surprise in that.
there are still things i’m iffy about.
- first off, hiccup and toothless’ relationship. to me, toothless seemed more like a pet than a best pal to hiccup. like toothless was usually in the background for the majority of his screen time. they did have their moments like in dire straits, enemy of my enemy (i think … but i can’t recall well), and triple cross, but that’s pretty much it.
- heather’s whole storyline. it was good in the beginning but wow they just really let go of her character. like she had SOOO much potential and she was well liked within the fandom. i would suggest watching this video on youtube:
it pretty much wraps up all my thoughts on her.
- DAGUR! SHOULDVE! STAYED! DEAD!
and if they weren’t planning on killing him off THEY SHOULDNT HAVE MADE HIS “DEATH” SCENE SO TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL CAUSE NOW WHAT EVEN IS THE POINT
- hiccup was not supposed to see the ice spikes! again, 18 year old hiccup was NOT. SUPPOSED. TO SEE. THE ICE SPIKES! why? because 20 year old hiccup has NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE!
- heathlegs. i’m sorry but i know a lesbian when i see one.
- this one i won’t get too worked up on cause i know the writers have said a few times hiccstrid was not going to be the main focus of the show (and tbh, as a hiccstrid shipper … thank god), but i wish their development from the friends to crush to lovers stage was more noticeable. to me it kinda just felt like BOOM! hiccstrid together!
at least the kisses were good. no no. the kisses were EXCELLENT! PURE CINEMA!
- listen i know they were in a time crunch when netflix just threw two more seasons at them, but johann? really?
- ASTRID NOT GETTING HICCUP A FAWKING MAP IN SANDBUSTED!
and that’s all i can think of for now, but all in all i love this show. i literally used to sit and wait for the seasons to come out at 3 AM MY TIME!! like this was my teenhood! i went to school sleep deprived for this shit so don’t you think for a second that i’m coming from a place of hate or ungratefulness.
i do have positive things about rtte but i’ll save that for a different post (also i plan to rewatch each episode one by one and make a tumblr post of my thoughts cause why not).

equestrian y/n teaching jack the basics of horse riding for churchill downs mv
this is fluff
Jack had just dropped his brand new album called home the kids miss you. He had already recorded a music video for first class but he was mostly excited to film his music video for churchill downs with THE drake himself.
He had proposed his idea of what he’d want to include in the music video to his directors and one of those scenes included jack riding a horse. Only problem with that was that Jack had never ridden a horse in his life. But he was dead set on having this in his music video.
“Come on Neelam there’s gotta be someone you know that can teach me, I mean how hard can it be right?” “Oh you’d be surprised, I do know someone and it’s definitely not as easy as you think Jack, you want to learn how to ride a horse at a high speed in the span of a few days when you’ve never even sat on a horse before, be for real.”
Jack stared at Neelam looking very offended but he knew she had a point. A really good one at that. But the last thing he was going to do is give up. “Okay okay that’s true but if they’re such a professional i can at least learn the basics right? I just really want this to look cool as fuck.”
“Fine i’ll give her a call later and see what I can do for you.”
“This is exactly why I never fired you.”
“Jack what the hell?”
“I’m kidding i’m kidding…wait did you say she?”
“Uh…yeah is that a problem?”
“No of course not I just thought it’d be a guy”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I’ve just never seen you hang out with a horse girl before.”
“Oh god please don’t call her that or she’ll flip her shit. She hates it when people call her that.”
“Gee thanks for the heads up.”
Later that day you were watching a random movie that was recommended to you by a friend on netflix when your phone started ringing. You picked it up to see it was Neelam and you accepted the call. “Hey Neelam what’s up?” You said while stuffing your face with popcorn. “Hi y/n! just work and more work, you know how it is.” “Yeah that’s literally all you do, why’d you call though? is everything okay?”
“Yeah yeah everything is great..but”
“Uh oh what is it?”
“It’s nothing bad but I just need you to do me this one favor for the next two weeks and I promise i’ll pay you and everything just please help me out or this boy won’t leave me alone.” Neelam rambled
“You had me at the word pay but what do I have to do for the next two weeks? thats a lot of days.”
“Can you teach Jack how to ride a horse for his music video?”
You paused your movie at the mention of Jack’s name and put your bowl of popcorn on the coffee table in front of you.
“Uhm yeah..yeah sure that’s fine I can do that. When do we start?”
“Are you available this friday?”
“Yeah that’s perfect, i’m sure you remember where the ranch is so i’ll see you then.”
“Thank you so so much y/n i’ll text you a time and more details later okay?”
“Okay byee”
You let out a heavy sigh after you both hung up. “I haven’t seen Jack in person in years…will he even recognize me? okay he probably will you haven’t changed THAT much y/n come on. Yeah that’s true…ugh i really hope he’s nicer now cause that dumpling joke was so annoying….it was kinda cute tho. Girl snap out of it. I’m literally having a whole dialogue with myself about this and I haven’t even started teaching him yet jesus christ.”
Everyone talks to themselves….I just happen to do it a lot more than usual and there’s nothing wrong with that. I knew Jack since middle school, we always had the same classes and he would sit near my lunch table and our friends usually hung out together. He never bullied me or anything like that cause i’d refuse to let a young jb look alike who raps to bully me. He just always pointed out things that made me feel slightly embarrassed. Like that one time he called my kermit and mrs. piggy socks cute which made his friends laugh about it. He apologized afterwards and said he really meant it but I mean who knows.
Friday comes around and I made sure I got to the ranch early to set everything up. I got the horses ready and even had enough time left to have a quick snack. A few minutes after I was done, I saw Neelam walking in with Jack. I walked over, meeting them half way. Neelam gives me a tight hug swaying us side to side as we always did when we see each other. “y/n!!!! hiiii” “It’s been way too long Nee” “I knooow this guy keeps me way too busy.” She says pointing towards Jack who’s standing there all awkward with his hands behind his back. He puts his hand forward and I do the same shaking his hand “Jack” “y/n” there’s an awkward silence between the three of us until Neelam clears her throat and breaks the silence “Oh..kay uh i’m gonna go and leave you two to it then. y/n good luck with this one.” “I think i’m gonna need it so thanks” “I’m standing right here…you guys realize that right?”Neelam laughs and walks towards the exit of the ranch. Once Neelam was out of earshot Jack turns to me and goes. “Long time no see y/n l/n” ugh here he goes with the last name. For some reason he could never just say my first name like everyone else. “Yeah long time no see…clearly not much has changed.” “I don’t see why that’s a bad thing dumpling.”
There it is..that old nickname. I didn’t want to have feelings for this guy but the butterflies were unavoidable at this point. He’s taller now, he has a nice beard, his hair is curlier, his voice is also deeper but his cute goofy smile is still the same and clearly the nicknames too. “I was hoping you’d forget about that name.” I said awkwardly. “I did until I saw your chubby cheeks again.” “Stop pointing it out” I said defensively but in a joking way, he laughs and puts his hands up in defense “I’ll stop…no promises.”
“Okay enough talking let’s get started or we’ll never get you to ride a horse in time for your music video.” “Okay let’s go”
Getting Jack to even get on a horse was harder than you expected.
“Pay attention to what I do so you can do it after me.” I get on the horse making sure to do it at a pace that he can follow and once i’m seated i turn to him and tell him to do what I did. Since he’s tall you would think its much easier but nope. This guy took like 5 minutes to even get on the horse, to be fair I didn’t pick our nicest horse for him either but he got on eventually. I got a good laugh out of seeing him struggle with something that was so easy to me though, no regrets so far.
After we did a little bit of trotting we took the horses for short walk before calling it a day. “So..how do you know Neelam?” he asked me out of no where “Uh…we met through a mutual friend” “Why are you lying?” “Who says i’m lying?” I was definitely lying, but how did he know that??? did Neelam tell him how we met?
No probably not cause he didn’t even know I was his instructor. “You did that awkward smile you used to do when you lie….so how did you guys really meet?”How does he even remember that?! i’m feeling those stupid butterflies again too get it together y/n. “Okay fine, I used to date her cousin a few years back and we got really close.” “Used to?” I don’t remember Jack being this nosey damn “You sure are nosey Jackman.” he shrugged.
“Not nosey just curious. I’d hate to be your ex, I know he feels stupid.” “You don’t even know what caused the break up.” “By your body language i can tell he’s the one that fucked up though.” “Yeah he did but i’ve been over it for a while now.” “Any new dudes in your life?” “No, just enjoying life as it comes these days. How about you mister rapper? new groupie every night or what?” “Who’s the nosey one now huh?” he says with a smirk. I know he did not just flip the script on me. “You asked a bunch of questions and all I asked is one and now i’m the nosey one?” “I’m just messing with you. But no i’m not like that… not anymore at least.” “Oh wow” He looked offended at my reply but can you blame me? he’s so popular now.
“What do you mean by oh wow? do I look like a manwhore to you?” I give him the look of “do you really want me to answer that?” “Okay don’t answer that” and we both started laughing. “Do you wanna do a small race to the stalls?” he looked at me as if i had grown two heads “ A race?!? are you trying to kill me? I thought we were getting along.” “You’re so dramatic it’s like 7 feet away” “Are you forgetting that you’re the real rider here and not me? I’m just an intern” “Okay prospect, no race this time. You’re such a party pooper.” “If you’re a good teacher and I get the hang of this by the end of these two weeks i’ll race you. Deal?” “Deal” We shook on it and continued our way to the stalls. Unlike getting on the horse, Jack had no issues getting off of it and he was quick to offer me his hand to help me get down.
Of course I didn’t need it but I decided to entertain him and accepted the help anyway. For whatever reason my horse, Talula felt like it was good moment to push me off and of course it had to be like one of those cliché rom coms. You know the ones where the girl falls into the guys chest and their faces are so close they’re almost breathing the same air and they look into each other’s eyes like its the prettiest thing they’ve ever seen?
Well that’s exactly what was happening between Jack and I. Until Talula decided to push me again and we both snapped out of it. His right arm was still around my waist and his other hand was still holding mine. I frantically pushed him away and stepped back brushing my clothes off from the invisible dust and possible horse fur.
“Sorry about that.” Jack apologized “No no it’s fine.” I started nervously laughing.He started walking backwards towards the exit “Tomorrow same time?” “Yeah, same time” “Alright, see you tomorrow dumpling.” He turned around now walking to the exit with his back towards me. “Stop calling me that.” “Not a chance dumpling.” He glanced at me over his shoulder with a smug grin on his face. I rolled my eyes but I couldn’t hold back my smile. After a full day of teaching Jack some of the basics and catching up a little bit I can say that he’s definitely the same goofy Jack that he was when I first met him in middle school. Maybe these next two weeks won’t be so bad after all.

You ain't gotta read or watch all of that shit to know if something's good and if you like it lmao, or at least that's how i feel. anyways it seems like it takes 80 years to get through but that's really only bc of the pacing in the anime lol, it comes out weekly and ofc the animation studio wouldn't want to catch up with the actual manga sooooo they act a lil sily in terms of pacing LMAO. it's still that bitch in my opinion though, but that's my opinion and you can see that it has 1000+ episodes and be like ..."i aint watching all that shit." ANYWAYYYYYYS. yeah if you have like, time, 2.99, And the shounen jump app is available wherever you are (also u can go to like Viz's official website and your shounen jump subscription will carry through there too :) ) THEN I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PIECE!!! (btw you can read 100 chs A DAY of op or they have other mangas too bby YEEEEEE) or if you have time then i also recommend watching the anime its... it's that bitch, i don't know. If you do end up liking it then netflix can help you take a nice bite out of the series, there's also like funimation/crunchyroll... or... *whispers* there are other...ways...to watch the anime....*whispers* ...are you a cop? LMAOOOOOO.
It's really good though with a whole bunch of lovable characters that the live-action doesn't even begin to be able to get into. you didn't ask, you didn't ask, but me personally, my favorite arc is Alabasta, which is the place they should be going to next season in the live action!! it also introduces one of my favorite little villains: Crocodile!!! idk i love it and i love him LOLLLL which i shouldn't bc he's...he's not a good man but i'm 26 i'm allowed to like toxic anime men, i've earned that right. (also you can like things and criticize them/acknowledge their flaws.) ANYWAYS, ANYWAYS, I'M RAMBLING, but yeah, it's good eating, and i highly suggest you get into the actual series if you liked the live action because the series itself is more in depth. Plus, P L U S, there's more Mihawk, Crocodile, and Buggy content AND THATS A WIN TO ME. lajsldajskdajsdlasjd. it's fun and as an added bonus there's a sense of community and you can always come back here and scream your thoughts to me (and everyone else) if you like it. Like i'm honored by your compliments but nothing i write could ever compare to the actual series itself LOLLLLL.

I have 40k of a modern AU CarolMaria kdfic I started ages ago (last open rn is 2021 and it's older than that) and got stuck at the end bc I couldn't quite figure out the sequence of events. It has SO many scenes I love but I can never quite get back to it (the MCU's current storyline doesn't help either :/)
Another is a throwaway doc of a Monthy Python-style medieval comedy for TOG that I never sat down to brainstorm

I think I'm good at creating visuals without needing suuuper lenghty detailed descriptions

I get too wordy and over-complicate my sentence structure, it's why I usually try to get a beta that has no issues tearing my writing apart to streamline it
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I enjoy it! I routinely use different languages in my every day life so it feels natural to me. I think rendering everything to English can be flattening and strip characters of their richness sometimes, while I also understand there is a line between incorporating a character's cultural bg and making a caricature of it, so I try to get the right feedback before I hit post and I'm always open to talking it out.

for now i will offer a bit of insight into two of them under the cut
okay so:
babysitting liam:
the babysitting liam fic is slightly misleading considering he's like, twelve in this fic (it's post-canon) and doesn't actually need a babysitter, but the vibe still stands
it's set in a post-canon world where liam lives with lip, tami, and fred (in a very cramped in-law apartment attached to tami's parents house) and there's not a lot of room, or privacy, and fred's teething so nobody is sleeping, and Big Brother Ian swoops in and tells liam he can spend the weekend at his and mickey's apartment if he needs a break from lip-tami bickering and the baby crying all the time
(it's not that liam doesn't like living there, he just needs a break)
so essentially it's like a 3-4 chapter fic of liam spending the weekend with ian and mickey and doing fun things together and generally having quality brother (and brother-in-law) bonding time
and mickey pretends to hate the idea of liam invading their space for a whole weekend, but he's a softie, and next to ian, liam is his favorite gallagher sibling, so of course he caves and ends up having a good time in the end
here's a snippet (in case the fic never sees the light of day)
“How’s the kid?” Mickey asks, grabbing his controller again and exiting out of his game. He pulls up Netflix.
“Liam?” Ian asks, and Mickey nods. “He’s… fine.”
Mickey quirks a brow. “Fine?”
“Yeah,” Ian sighs, climbing over the back of the couch and more or less falling into Mickey’s side. “Fred’s teething. I don’t think anyone’s really sleeping over there.”
“Poor kid.”
“He’ll be fine. I mean, at some point the teething stops.”
“I meant Liam.”
“Oh.”
Mickey presses a soft kiss to Ian’s hairline. “Kid needs to sleep.”
Ian wiggles his way under Mickey’s arm, tucking his face in his husband’s neck. He presses his lips against the warm skin, just holding them there for a minute. He breathes Mickey in, the faint smell of sweat and cigarettes mixing with the fading deodorant from this morning. He doesn’t say anything, doesn’t move.
Mickey’s hand sneaks under the hem of Ian’s t-shirt, his thumb gently stroking arcs across Ian’s hip. He gives him a minute, lets him breathe—but he knows his husband too well.
“What?” Mickey almost whispers.
Ian sighs quietly. “Like you said…” He blinks and his eyelashes brush against Mickey’s neck. “Kid needs to sleep.”
Mickey pulls back just far enough to look at Ian’s face. His eyes narrow. “…What did you do?”
“Nothing.”
“Uh huh,” Mickey says, tongue in cheek, almost biting back a smile. “What did you do?”
Ian shrugs, suddenly looking everywhere but at Mickey.
“I… may have told Liam he could stay with us this weekend.”

i have no snippets of this to share so have some random thoughts from my unhinged 1k outline that sits in this doc:
this one is set in an world (s1 timeline) where people can have magical powers, but they're rare, so when ian first discovers that he's one of those few people who has magical abilities, he mostly keeps it to himself. lip's known since they were pretty young, helping ian to develop it and train it, and ian tells fiona eventually, but she claims she already knew
none of the other gallagher siblings have powers, and this has always confused ian until he realized his biological father isn't frank, but a guy who lives in a cushy northside house with a successful career and life--no doubt products of some kind of power--and then it clicks
anyway, life largely remains the same as canon for ian and co. because he's only 15 and he still has a long way to go with mastering his abilities and everything, and then: he meets mickey
and ian's powers? well, they're somewhere along the lines of mind control.
and yeah maybe he was going to use magic to get mickey to give back the gun that he stole, and maybe he has a crisis about whether or not he accidentally did use it to make mickey fuck him instead of beat the shit out of him (he didn't), but it all works out in the end because mickey gave the gun back anyways
and mickey keeps ian grounded, because yeah he shows up to the store for a booty call when ian asks, but he always tells ian not to kiss him, and though the rejection stings a little, it reassures ian that mickey is of his own mind when they're hooking up and he's not somehow accidentally under ian's control--because how else is he supposed to explain mickey fucking milkovich suddenly jumping his bones every five seconds when a week ago he wanted to kill him
anyway.
long story short, mickey ultimately finds out about ian's powers after kash catches them, after mickey comes back to the store the next day, after mickey mocks him and tries to rob him again and kash fires one bullet into the fucking drywall, barely missing mickey's head
his finger's on the trigger and his aim's a little better, and that's when ian drops what he's doing and uses his powers
(probably should have mentioned before this that kash already knew about them, something about them having secrets between them (ew) whatever)
ian stops kash from shooting mickey in the store--even though kash is fighting the hold ian has on him--and our story starts (ends?) there because that's as far as i got with that one
so, yeah.

WHY BYLER WILL BE ENDGAME AND MILEVEN WON'T! WOHOO!
(this is just an stranger things theory, no need to get mad)
Ok, ok, ok. I am actually so sure that byler will be endgame and mileven won't. I am 83% sure right now while i had moments where i was like "yeah sadly byler will never be endgame :(" or "i think mileven will be endgame.." and i actually never felt this sure!!!
If you don't know what or who byler and mileven are (some stranger things fans don't really know the ship names of ships and couples), let me explain. Byler is the ship name of Will Byers and Mike Wheeler (By+ler=byler. Their last names) and mileven is the ship name of Mike Wheeler and Eleven Hopper (Mi+leven=mileven. Their names). Now you should know if you didn't know yet!!!
This post will be pretty long so if you absolutely HATE reading long posts skip, but if you are losing hope in byler being endgame or if you already lost all your hopes keep reading!
I recommend for you guys to read this though because i think i actually have some good reasons!!!
(now let me start explaining why i think byler will be endgame and mileven won't be endgame at all)
Mileven looks like an healthy and happy couple in the show right? They are dating, they make out, they have "cute" and "romantic" scenes in the show, Mike had an whole monologue to El saying how he loves her like 9 times blah blah blah. This is actually how most mileven shippers see mileven! and even some byler shippers see mileven as a happy and healthy couple. I have actually met a few byler shippers saying byler won't be endgame and mileven will be.
You can say "they are so toxic! Have you seen their arguments!?" about mileven but that is actually not really an good comeback in an argument with an mileven shipper because they will say "every couple has bad arguments and issues" which is true! even in the show itself some of the healthy and happy couples have bad arguments + issues. Lumax had issues and arguments (Max broke up with him like 6 times) and they are still an healthy couple (i know they're not an couple anymore for now but it was obvious they still have romantic feelings for each other and that they will be an couple again in season 5).
Jopper also had some issues and they are still an healthy and happy couple but when i say i don't think mileven will be endgame i don't mean that i think this because of their arguments like alot of byler shippers, i think this because of so many other things. Even though they seem like an "happy" and "healthy" couple in the show, it was still hinted they actually aren't and that they won't be endgame. Mileven was actually described like it is an unhealthy ship or well, not endgame at all. Netflix described them like this, the official scripts of the show described them like this, Caleb described them like this, Stranger Writers described them like this and parallels actually also described them like this.
In the official scripts it actually describes mileven as awkward twice. It doesn't only describe them as awkward, it also says Mike and El are star-crossed lovers. If you don't know what star-crossed lovers are, star-crossed lovers means it's doomed to fail amd that they cannot be together for reasons. I probably didn't explain this in an good way but you get the point (i think?). And the script of the scene where Max is singing and dancing in her room after El broke up with Mike actually also says that El was blushing at Ralph Macchio and that she liked what she saw. This isn't too weird because it is pretty normal to have very small crushes on popular people like actors, singers ect but the part where it says "Mike? Mike who?" makes it a bit weird...
That is basically just saying El is already slowly moving on. If El actually loved Mike so much she wouldn't move on so fast after an break up with him. It wasn't even an whole day after their break up.

Now let's talk about something Caleb said in an interview. Caleb was talking about lumax (Lucas and Max) and how much he loves them. Then he said he loves Lucas and Max's relationship because it is not like El and Mike's relationship. They're not in that "teenager relationship" and Lucas and Max's love is real. I'm sorry but that is literally saying Mike and El's love for each other isn't real? He said he loves Lucas and Max's relationship because it's not like Mike and El's relationship because IT'S REAL. No way mileven is endgame if even Caleb talks like that about mileven.

Let's also not forget how netflix described them as an unhealthy ship and the mileven parallels like i already mentioned. An while ago (i am not sure if it was on YouTube or Instagram) an official netflix account (netflixca) posted an video making fun of mileven and in the video they said "well maybe some relationship problems can't be fixed" meaning the issues in mileven's relationship cannot be fixed. I know it was an joke hut still...

And mileven has also been paralleld to unhealthy and not endgame ships/couples. Mileven has been paralleld to stancy (Steve and Nancy. An unhealthy couple that wasn't endgame). Mileven has been paralleld to Taren (Ted and Karen. An married couple that obviously isn't in love with each other). Mileven has been paralleld to Robin and Milton (Milton is an guy and Robin obviously doesn't like him in an romantic way because she is an lesbian). Mileven has been paralleld to Harry and Hermoine from Harry Potter (even though i don't watch Harry Potter i am pretty sure Harry and Hermoine weren't endgame). And mileven has probably been paralleld to more unhealthy ships/couples or not endgame ships/couples.
Meanwhile byler has been paralleld to healthy ships/couples and couples/ships that are obviously endgame. Byler has been paralleld to Lumax (Lucas and Max. An ship that had some issues but it kinda already got fixed and they're obviously endgame + an healthy couple). Byler has been paralleld to Jopper (Joyce and Hopper. Also an obvious endgame couple). Byler has been paralleld to Rickie (Robin and Vickie. An lgbtq+ ship that is obviously in love and endgame). Byler has been paralleld to Ron and Hermoine (even though i didn't watch all the Harry Potter movies like i already said i am pretty sure Ron and Hermoine were endgame) and byler has probably been paralleld to more healthy ships/couples and ships/couples that are obviously endgame.
I don't really wanna show all the parallels though, but you can easily do a quick search on Tumblr, Google, Tiktok or Instagram about those parallels if you really wanna see them so badly.
Now let's talk about Mike's sexualilty+him being in love with Will+him having internalized homophobia. "Mike is dating a girl, he can't be gay. If he was gay he would be dating Will!" seems like people who say those kind of things know nothing about gay people and they also never did their research. Stranger Things takes place in the 80s (1983-1988). S1 takes place in 1983, S2 takes place in 1984, S3 takes place in 1985, S4 takes place in 1986 and S5 will probably take place in 1988. So many gay men dated woman in the 80s and were very good at pretending to love the woman. Sometimes they dated a woman for years and you know why? because of homophobia. Many gay men dated woman to make people think their are straight or to "convince" themselves they are straight. Homophobia was super bad in the 80s or years before the 80s. People who were lgbtq+ actually got killed, beat up or burned alive. They also got called slurs like 24/7. It was very bad. 2022 Is still very homophobic but before it was much more homophobic.
Also please don't correct me, i kmow that gay men still date woman in 2022 because of homophobia and i know bisexual people, lesbian people, pansexual people, omnisexual people ect did this too, but since we are talking about Mike being queercoded right now and since i headcanon him as gay and not bisexual i am only talking about gay men. So my point is that Mike can still be gay while he is dating an girl! There is also an theory of Ted being super homophobic so Mike could have alot of internalized homophobia because of this but also because of the homophobia from bullies like Troy and James. I don't really wanna talk about the Ted being very homophobic theory right now, but just like with the parallels you can search it on Tumblr, Instagram, Tiktok ect.
I am not going to talk about every hint in this post, but just about the hints that are my favorite and in my opinion prove the most. Yes, Mike was queercoded. Doesn't matter if you think Mike is bisexual, pansexual, gay, omnisexual or straight, he stays queercoded. That will stay a fact. And how? let me explain you how.
First of all, alot of characters in stranger things have an spotify playlist. Steve has one, Billy has one, Will has one, Jonathan has one, Mike has one, Lucas has one, Nancy has one, El has one and more characters have one. These spotify playlist were made by the creators of Stranger Things (you can even see that it is official because it says "spotify" instead of some fan user) and they were made for the characters in season 2. These playlists aren't about the songs they like, they are about the songs that fit their characters because on their playlists there are actually songs from like 2016 and stranger things takes place in 1983-1988 so no way it is about the songs they like. It also isn't about the songs that they WOULD like because the playlists are made for the SEASON 2 characters in 1984. Anyway, my point is that all these songs are supposed to fit them and again, all these playlists are official, not fanmade. A few playlists are removed though, pretty sure only Mike and Will have one now or something.
On Mike's playlist that is called "Mike's Bassment Beats" has a song on his playlist called "Smalltown Boy". I listened to this song and focused on the lyrics and the song is about an man that was gay and he left his town because of all the homophobia. The song "Smalltown Boy" was also the first song added to Mike's playlist. I recommend you to listen to the song! because it is pretty good. I am going to say this one last time. This playlist isn't about the songs Mike likes, every song on this playlist is supposed to FIT MIKE'S CHARACTER. If Mike is straight this song wouldn't fit him a bit which wouldn't make any sense because every single song on this playlist is supposed to fit his character which was confirmed. What excuses are mileven shippers going to use for this one, hm? none because for this one there really are no excuses. I tried thinking of a few but there aren't any.

Also in season 4 episode 5 Mike and Will have a talk while sitting on a random car. Will says "Sometimes it's scary to open up like that, especially to the people you care about the most because what if they don't like the truth?" And it is very obvious he is also talking about hinself being gay and in love with Mike. He is giving Mike very small hints. So small that Mike won't really find out about it because that's also not what Will wants to happen. He is scared. Anyway, what i wanted to talk about is the way Mike nodded. After Will said "Sometimes it's scary to open up like that, especially to the people you care about the most because what if they don't like the truth?" MIKE LOOKED DOWN AND NODDED. What does this mean? it means Mike also has something he is hiding away from an person he cares about alot but he is very scared that person won't like the truth. Mike nodded and nodding is an way of saying "yes" but it is also an way of agreeing. He obviously agreed with Will by nodding, that is just an fact but what is he hiding?
You can say it is about mileven but the only thing he had to tell El (an thing that he was "hiding away" from El) was that he loves her but El liked the "truth" about that and Mike knows this. They are literally in an relationship and El broke down in tears infront of Mike because she wanted Mike to say "i love you" to her. Mike knew El would like the "truth" about that but he agreed with "what if they won't like the truth?". There is something he is hiding away from an person he cares alot about and he is scared they won't like the truth. The only thing i can thimk about is that it means Mike is gay and in love with Will but he is scared Will won't like that or he doesn't love El in an romantic way and he is scared El won't like that. Also keep in mind that Millie said Mike isn't loving El the way she wants to be loved.

The last thing i want to talk about is the byler build up. Many mileven shippers use "mileven has been build up since season 1, why would they break them up?" as an comeback but have you never thought about the byler build up? It has actually been confirmed that Will has been deeply in love with Mike since season 1 and maybe even before since 1. Will has been in love with Mike before El came into Mike's life. Will has been deeply in love with Mike for 4 seasons and that's not all. They made an big part of Will's storyline in season 4 about him being in love with Mike and in season 4 Will's WHOLE storyline was about him being in love with Mike while he used to be the main character (with El of course). Why would they make his storyline only about him being in love with Mike while he used to be an very important character and why would they build up Will's romantic feelings for Mike for 4 seasons long (longer than mileven) just for Will to get rejected?
That storyline would be pointless then. It would be an huge waste of time and it would be bad writing. You can say "that storyline was only made to show Will finding out he is gay" but if that was true they would have make him fall in love with an new character like Robin and Vickie instead of an very important character that has been there since season 1 (Mike) that is also his best friend since kindergarten. It was also confirmed that there won't be any new characters in season 5 meaning Will is going to stay single or byler will be endgame. I don't think it would make any sense for the whole party to get an girlfriend/boyfriend and Will stays the single one...
Obviously, there is so much more proof than this. There is so much proof of Mike being in love with Will, of Mike being bisexual/gay and having internalized homophobia, of mileven not being endgame and way more. You can go to uhbylerisreal's account on TikTok, you can go to causeineedu's account on TikTok, you can go to @kaypeace21 's account, you can go to @beepboop358 's account, you can read the 320+ byler proof master slides, you can go to @awhstrangerthings 's account, you can go to @hawkinsschoolcounselor 's account and much more. You guys can say "this is just overreacting. Y'all focus way too much on the details" but if you are an actual real stranger things fan you would know how important small hints and details are in the show. The lyrics of the music in the show and parallels are also very important in the show. I can give some examples too!
In season 1 episode 2 it was already hinted somebody (mike) was going to jump off an cliff but survive. Later in season 1 episode 6 Troy tells Mike to jump off of an cliff so Mike does but he survives because El saves him. It was also the exact same cliff officer callahan was talking about.
Jason's death was already hinted. In season 4 episode 2 Lucas is throwing up at Benny's Burgers and Jason says "first hangover feels like you're gonna split in two". Later in season 4 episode 9 Jason splits in two because of the gates opening.
The season 4 ending was already hinted. In the creel house teaser that came out months before season 4 volume 2 came out we see an clock at the end and then we hear 4 chimes, then the clock breaks in the shape of an "×" and the middle part breaks the most. In season 4 episode 9 we hear 4 chimes and then hawkins breaks/falls in the shape of an "×" and the middle part breaks the most.
And no, this isn't an coincidence because Shawn Levy himself said that NOTHING is an coincidence in the show.

Do you guys actually think mileven is endgame while it was described like that and paralleld to unhealthy couples/ships and not endgame ships/couples meanwhile byler has been paralleld to healthy couples/ships and endgame ships/couples? It would make no sense.

Apologies if this is a bit of a weird ask, but I'm kinda curious about if you've had any experiences with not liking LGBT+ media that was seen as a must watch, and what your thoughts were on them? That reblog sprung me back to thinking the Matrix was boring in middle school despite it being a Trans movie and feeling slightly confused why my friends were surprised by it.

I wasn't really thinking of anything in particular when I reblogged that post, but if I had to list some specific examples, Steven Universe and Nimona come to mind.
SU's lgbt+ content never sat right with me because of the fact that only character that were lgbt+ were the gems. So in this show, any and all lgbt+ characters are...literaly aliens.
Yeah...
Even outside any lgbt+ themes, the show was a slog to watch. It started off decently enough, but as the it went on, the quality deteriorated heavily. The plot was all over the place, the characters were massacred, and the protagonist is the only child character in all of media who I genuinely hate.
But for some reason, lgbt+ fandom loses their mind over SU. When I read the stuff they say, I honestly wonder if we watched the same show. Like the show's got some decent moments, but it ain't all that. Not even close.
This might be a catty thing to say, but I think it's because it's got a space theme, pastel colours, and some androgynous looking characters. From the way some people talk, a lot of them seem to think that certain aesthetics are more valuable rep than actual lgbt+ content.
I didn't really interact with people online when SU was airing, but my sister was a diehard fan of the show, and we got into a lot of (in hindsight very petty) arguments about it.
I don't judge people who like bad shows (my most used tag is 'Lego ninjago', glass houses), but SU fans always seemed so defensive wave atright up dishonest about the show they claimed to love (this post is long enough, so I won't go into specifics).
It was borderline surreal (and slightly insanity inducing), watching a show that did so little get praised for so much.
Nimona was okay, but very overhyped. Story wise, I think it needed some buffing in a few areas, but it's a fine kids movie that just didn't super grab me.
As for the lgbt+ elements, the two main bits are a gay couple and some gender stuff.
The gay couple are...well they exist I guess. I didn't like how any potentially interesting angles of Goldenloin's character were sacrificed because the writers really wanted him and Boldheart to be fighting the whole movie instead of doing anything actually romantic. The romance isn't interesting, and one of the characters is barely a character. Eh.
Now on to the gender stuff, aka the thing everyone raves about. See, the movie wants Nimona the character to be a metaphor for transgender struggles in society, but instead of making Nimona trans, they made her a shapeshifter.
Why would you not just...make her trans of you want to tell a trans narrative? And you can't blame "homophobic executives" on this one because there's an explicit gay couple right there, and this movie came out on Netflix post 2020. Why do I feel like I'm back in 2016?
And to be clear, it very much is a trans narrative they're trying to push, and not just the story happening to be presented in a way that resonates with trans people. There's some bits (such as the train scene) where the trans narrative directly interferes with what's happened in the story and what we know about the characters, but they're there anyway.
They reeeeeeally want to talk about trans people without talking about trans people for some reason that absolutely boggles my mind.
I just...I don't get it. Just tell the story you say you want to tell. Why are we being so weird and indirect?
That's been my experience with a lot of the lgbt+ media I hear people raving about. I don't know why this seems especially true with specifically lgbt+ people, but a lot of the community has incredibly low standards for lgbt+ themes and representation in media.
A year or two ago, I specifically remember a looking at a list of top transgender characters in children's tv, and literally only ONE character on the list was actually trans.
In summary, I just can't get behind media that acts needlessly secretive yet weirdly proud about specifically its lgbt+ themes and characters, but that's the kind of writing I hear getting the loudest praise and the most glorifying articles.
It felt like I was in the twilight zone.
Finding like 3 people online who were like 'no, you're right, people are being weird about this' was such a relief, and I think knowing there were at least a few people who had the same take as me helped me be able to deal better.
Things are getting better as more mainstream media is incorporating actual explicit lgbt+ representation, but the the crowd that celebrates over scraps of nothing is very much still there.
It didn't bother me nearly as much as it did years ago, but I've learned to take online ravings and reccomendations with a large pinch of salt.

hmmmmmm i dunno if this is a take that's been more common these last few months or if it's just a few posts that got too popular, but i've been seeing a lot of fans who seem to enjoy... hating the dream smp? i've seen SO much stuff along the lines of "can this just end so i can stop watching it"/"x character is the only redeemable thing left"/"i don't know why i'm still here"/LOTS of writing crit that is more bullying than it is constructive
and!! well!!! i wanna counteract that!!! bc i think a lot of us have forgotten what makes the smp so special. like, remember the start of it? at a time in history when all popular media was tropey bad hollywood, or poorly written netflix, or capitalist ceos maximising on hollow rehashed uninspiring tales—when every piece of media on earth is censored or altered or otherwise made palatable—the dream smp was there. loud and bold and new—and so much FUN, dammit!! remember why we loved it? because it was fun! because it was a bunch of friends having fun! friends that weren't tied to a parent company, that weren't forced to write or say anything at all, and did it anyway—for fun, for love, for the joy of entertaining their viewers. it was silly and messy and dramatic and ripped from hamilton and breaking bad and everyone loved it, everyone put on the lmanberg skin and enchanted their gear and got ready for war. like yeah the dream smp is brilliant acting/portrayal/whatever, but we can get that anywhere else. what the dream smp had, and continues to have above all else, is that it's fun. you can tell the creators love doing it, even though they don't have to. it's got actual heart to it. people love watching it. i love watching it!! i love that it's messy and retconned and so clearly a mosaic of a dozen or so amateur writers trying to do the best they can!! i love how hard they try to make it good—seeking out inspo from fan designs, working with people outside of the cast, coming up with things they find interesting or new. and i j—the dream smp above all else to me is fun. and a lot of people seem to have lost that. it shouldnt be painful for you to watch, yknow? it shouldn't piss you off so much that you're desperate for it to end. this is a story that sprung up in the middle of some of the most dreadful events any of us ever experienced—and when it did, it made quarantine something worth remembering. and i'll always cherish that. ofc people are allowed to feel what they want to feel, but. i think we all sometimes need to remember that this silly minecraft roleplay is here to be the weird silly lovely messed up thing it is, yknow? i think we need to love it for its messiness again. i think we need to remember to have fun

It’s actually kinda a big pain in the ass now to watch the CW live....
USGOTV (or USTVNOW, whichever one is free) has shut down.....the other one wants $29 per month to have access to the CW’s live east coast stream...
Nobody wants to pay for DirecTV (stream) or Hughesnet, YoutubeTV (which I’ll be cancelling post free trial, for this express reason) doesn’t have agreements in all (or many) markets for live CW---so you’re stuck simply streaming the app the next day....which you can do for free, anyway. But doesn’t track for live ratings.
I’ll personally be switching to HuluLive, but they REALLY limit how many screens and locations you can watch from....
The other option I could gather is going waaayyyyy old skool and putting in an antenna (who knew?), but not really so wanting to do so...

Dude, yesterday I was literaly reminded by netflix to continue the loo and I went “yeah, go fuck yourself netflix, that shit will stay for eternity on 3/4 of 307”.
But I wanted to share my story w/the show. It was recomended to me by a very religious uncle on 2017 who visited us from argentina. I only came around to watch it last september, ‘cos it kept popping up on my ‘series que te gustarán’ queue.
Now, from the moment Lexa appeared onscreen I knew two things, she was the best character of this show and she was gonna die (and soon), so when I got to 307 I most of all felt disappointed about being right.
But, when it hit me later, that this Lexa was the ‘Lexa’ I always read about on those rankings about character deaths and examples of the bury your gays trope, I started reading the story of that backlash and boy I got retroactively pissed, going “oh, those motherfuckers” with each article and post I read about it. And the fact that you guys been this mad/hurt for the last 8 years got me somehow even madder, ‘cos In my mind she’s only been dead less than a year.
But two great things came out of it, on my grieving phase I went to ao3 and it led me to tumblr and to you guys.
And me and the uncle will have one great awkward chat when we meet again, because the first thing I’m gonna say to him is: “so…you knew about the lesbians and didn’t think to start with that? 🤨”
Honestly it made me never trust a mf in the industry ever again. Ever. Showrunners can, will, and do lie right to your face. They do not care about fans at all. At all. They care about viewers because viewers bring in money in one way or another, and they do not give one fuck if you're hate watching or love it or if they have to lie about a storyline to get you to tune in when they know it won't be that. They don't care, and I don't trust a single thing any of them say. Showrunners, writers, producers. Nothing. The loo taught a lot of us that in spades.
Tbh, that's why I'm nervous for these warrior nun fans. I'm not at all invested in the announcement about it becoming movies or whatever because I didn't watch (so I'm sorry but sending me asks about it won't really amount to anything cuz idk anything about it other than it had sapphics 😬), BUT, my cynical gut reaction is: how much you wanna bet they scrub that shit clean of anything queer?
How much you wanna bet they take all the hype that fans have drummed up to get it brought back and use it to completely flip the story into something that's ~cleansed~ of its queerness? Or my favorite tactic - the gay is still there, technically, but it's completely made G rated. Like you're left searching for a hand-holding scene at best 🤨
Idk maybe I'll be proven wrong, honestly hope I am, but that was my first thought. "Yeah they'll give you WN. But it won't be what you actually want."
Why?
Cuz you can't trust these mfs with our stories at all.

yeah sure!
so there were a bunch of theories after vol1 drop (we didn't call them gates then) and after vol2 they all started to get fleshed out and with the joke of "watergate" made by dustin (and vecna opening all those gates) we just kinda adopted it for different theories for season 5 or analysis about byler or season 4
scriptgate: this is the non show related one. so 8flix is a site that like gives scripts to people/public (film students use it etc) and there was a gofundme to donate to 8flix and like you would get your email signed up on the list and then the stranger things script sent you. the first one was episode 8 (vol2) basically it was supposed to come early august. like august 3rd or something i do not remember exactly but nick (8flix guy) got a lot more people on his email list than ever, and he wanted to do it one by one rather than a big release so we waited like 3 days or so (THIS TIME PERIOD IS SO ICONIC HONESTLY HILARIOUS SO MANY MUTUALS MADE.) there was like people drinking sangrias, i made a pizza, people were making crafts in the tag, it was a big sleepover. very fun, each time it got delayed it was funnier and funnier 😭. anyways we finally got the scripts (but at what cost) and they were so fuckinf depressing there was not a dry eye in the house. will said "i hate who i am" and nancy said "jonathan who?" it was terrible. and a couple days later stranger writers basically implied they were fake. like they were fake scripts. AND THEN EVERYONE TURNED ON NICK. it was a big thing but basically he was saying they weren't fake, and there's 2 big theories: that either he had very early scripts or just a bad source. anyways netflix said he could keep posting them as long as it wasn't revealing anything that wasn't already known (spoilers for season 5 i guess) (worth noting that when nick got his acc hacked on twitter "he" said shit like he was gonna name his source and 2 actors had confirmed the scripts. he was hacked so ignore this. i believe him at least)
letter gate: theory that mike has written letters to will while he was gone but never sent them, also most people believe that he kept said letter in his pocket in the custom blue shirt he wore throughout season 4
pocket gate: finn mentioned this in the hair chair before the st costume designers said this but, they made him a custom shirt (the iconic one for season 4.) few things to know! the pocket opens sideways, it looks like there could be something in it (because it never creases), the costume designers used triangle imagery on robin because of its meaning to the queer community and the pocket is a blue square with a grey triangle, and the pocket was mostly pointing towards will the entire season, will was always on mikes left! very few times was it pointing towards anyone else
breathgate: so i THINK this gate is about mike and max paralelling/lumax+byler endgame secured. so when mike saw the painting in the scripts that the stranger writers twt released it said "his breath catches" and when max was asked by lucas if she wanted to go to a movie friday it said "her breath catches." this could also be about how byler... breathed in sync when they were out in the field in the ending scene. or it could be about that very deep breath mike took when he was looking at will when they were in the van!
bald mike wheeler: i don't wanna talk about it <- traumatized 😶 KIDDING anyways so people basically edited this pic of mike in the hell fire outfit as bald and started creating a "cult" out of it and making their mutuals and friends worship bald mike. byler tag chaos obvi. my mutual rori sent like 20 images in my inbox. i was frightened.
matt duffers basement: ok so someone was pretending to be matt duffer on tumblr and made an "official" account and idk how really but people started claiming he was locking him in his basement and people started making a joke out of it and the person running the account played along too lmao. it was a sleepover in there
twilightgate: basically people editing mike and will's faces on edward and bella . don't miss that era .
wormgate: OK THIS COULD EITHER BE ABOUT THE TIME PERIOD WERE PEOPLE PUT MIKE AND WILL'S FACES ON WORMS OR ITS ABOUT MIKE OR WILL ASKING THE OTHER "would you still love me if i was a worm" i think it's the former tho
mikhailgate+background guy gate+wills love interest gate: they're all connected im sorry. so mikhail is enzo/dmitri's son, and people started theorizing saying mikhail was going to make an apperance in hawkins i forgot the logistics of it, but basically he's boris from the goldfinch but like. stranger things. so he looks like mike but more russian LMAO. i forgot the- willhail! that was the ship name! basically so mike could be a jealous bitch they made up an entire character! there was fanfic and fanart, people were serious. background guy, were basically taking a bunch of extras and making characters around them. like that dude with "hell" on his shirt i think his name was brett, there was fanart of him ! and then the goth girl that looks similar to eden was el's gf apparently! those 2 are most prominent i forgot the others. and will's love interest was just all of this. people would even take people from other media. like i saw one that had miguel from cobra kai (apparently argyles cousin 💀)
birthdaygate/memory gate: so this one i don't keep up with because i don't like it. i know what it's about though! so will's birthday is mar 22nd and people in the pre vol2 era thought his bday was gonna get addressed in vol2 but it wasn't so now there's a big conspiracy that it's going to have a bigger play out in s5 (like him blowing up at everyone /mike etc) but some people think it's because vecna can... steal memories. this claim is backed up by the lyric "let me steal this moment from you now" from running up that hill. someone can explain this gate better than me
babygirl gate: someone made a tweet that made it to tumblr basically saying will was rubbing his back whispering babygirl in mikes ear so he could say i love you to el/his girlfriend. which sparked people to make will's quotes to mike say babygirl instead of mike(his name.)
decedants gate: is just like twilight gate. i forgor if mike is mal and will is ben. i think that's right. yeah. it was cool!! comparing byler to their relationship!! about how mal chose to be with ben because he makes her happy!
playlistgate: mike has a very queer coded playlist, promiently "smalltown boy" by bronski beat. it's a song about running away/leaving. this could also be about finn's playlist called "drive" which could be a playlist for mike (it's known that he makes playlists for his characters.) or this could be about (tender emotional music) and how the stranger things sound track proves byler endgame! or about how spotify /st took off a bunch of peoples playlists (some songs off mike and maybe will's too i think.) im not Exactly sure what this one is about.
flickergate: !!!!!!! MY FAV!!!!! season 5 theory mike and will go to the upside down and kiss in the wheelers garage! REMEMBER HOW MIKES GARAGE LIGHT FLICKERED AS WILL LEFT? byler kiss secured! that "it was a 7. the demogorgon, it got me." WAS THEIR FIRST REAL ONSCREEN CONVERSATION! also where everything went wrong, and immense forshadowing. any 7 is a byler number. also the upside down is stuck on nov 6 (day will went missing) so they would technically kiss on that day. a lot smarter person can explain this one.
salt lamp gate: basically a pic of mike licking a salt lamp and people in the byler tag talking about licking their salt lamps . i don't know what prompted this
gridgate: so duffers posted this story boarding grid (blank) back in like end of august/september. and then updated it but it was BLURRED. they blurred it. fucking tease. so people started to unblur it and read what it says but u couldn't make out anything really. and something we thought was a drawing was a pen holder. upsetting. what the hell. they were making fun of us. anyways we were insane for that.

Aww, got me blushing I see. (It’s also a relief to see my blog back in the tags after the fortnight long shadowban lol definitely not scarred by that).
Relatively new to the fandom (I’d say since mid-July this year but I genuinely can’t tell you for certain, but I’ve known of the anime since the day I added it to my Netflix list after over-hearing someone talk about it and then just never watched it, and so eventually it got removed from Netflix anyway so), but I finally got into it because of an amv of an awesome cover where on the original video (of the cover) people were saying they found it because of a Black Butler amv. Of course, I did the opposite, lmao.
I’m not a manga reader, although I would like to be, and I do/have spoil(ed) myself for most of the lore from the wiki and talk of the manga stuff. Just thought I’d get that out of the way.
It’s interesting how s2 isn’t apart of the manga, because it is an interesting concept (more demons), and I just think that that Sebastian deserves another demon to be petty and to twirl around with, you know?
Lmao, the “live reactions” are relatively spontaneous. I just watch something and I’m like “oh my god oh my god, so like” and on one of my posts I speculated (never reading the manga but knowing of R!Ciel) and someone commented “Yeah, that’s exactly what happened”. And I’m like “haha, well fuck me I am the messiah”.

As for Claudebastian… well, for one, I try tagging my posts as concisely as I can, so for the whole “shipping timeline” I suppose you could search for #claudebastian on my profile. (Is that link working? I don’t think it is.) Or #seblaude, because they’re tagged with both.
I also do character playlists for Kuro (an incomplete list, because I couldn’t do anything during the shadowban). Plus, fanfiction. My AO3 is linked in my bio, and the majority of that pseud’s works are Claudebastian.
I suppose the main things to know about me and Claudebastian is:
I first hate-shipped Clannah(?) because I resented them both.
By episode five, Bedewed Butler, (an episode I only remember the name and number of because I had to type it out like a million times when I made a bunch of GIFs for the episode, all under #my gifs and #they’re gay your honour) I started to ship them.
I made a headcanon list regarding them so I could work past the week of writer’s block I had for my second one shot (which I’m still writing and hope to get out later today if I’m so lucky).
My first Claudebastian fic that I made is the one mentioned on top, aka. an unfinished one shot trilogy that I made before even finishing season two and labelled His Mate, Loving (The Claudebastian Collection), because I wholeheartedly expected it to be my one and only Claudebastian work.
I was wrong.
My second published work for Claudebastian (third for Kuro as a whole) is Dear Claude, something which I tried leaving as a fic with an ambiguous relationship/feelings, but it was kinda hard to write that way.
I intend on writing a platonic Grellebastian friendship fic (bit of angst, one sided Grelliam, Grelltaker as the end goal maybe, possibly, who knows) which you can probably find under #grelle fic.
That fic is currently back in action, so to speak, after I’ve watched BoA.
Which is infuriating because I hesitated to watch season three in fear of killing the Claudebastian mood (it did not, probably because of William being there lol), and same goes for Book of Murder, but then I went into Book of Atlantic so I could make GIFs for an up and coming Grelle vs The Undertaker character analysis, but came out with the inspo for Claudebastian slipping away (and after such a good week/maybe two weeks of writing little and often for that one shot).
Kind of re-contemplating the toxic Clauannah marriage (again). Fuck my life.
The theme is kind of a reference to my reactions to season two (and Claudebastian) clogging up my main and resulting in the creation of the blog. Plus I ship them.
