You know how there's the soulmate AUs where people leave spots of color where they touch you? Like that but with blood.

I like idea of the people you love who bleed on you leaving marks. Not necessarily romantic soulmates but soulmates in the sense of I think we come from the same stardust.

Maybe it just lasts until that person heals, then it fades away.

Wounds that scar leave colors that never truely disappear but instead just water down to pale colors so both people are permanently marked.

All the hands stained from pressing on wounds.

All the shoulders and backs dyed from carrying someone.

All the knuckles covered, fights forgiven and forgotten but the skin remembers.

All the arms painted from relieved hugs.

The reminder of a kiss that left a mark like lipstick.

The lingering of a handprint so perfect it looks intentional.

All the fades spots on you that mark the places your loved ones have scars.

The stories you could tell, the memories that would linger.

Luffy: Crimson, burning sunsets and glowing embers fading into dusty rose

i genuinely don't think a story's worldbuilding and lore has ever drawn me in the way that check please did. it's been years and i still think about it every day. the characters and plot were always superb but i think what has stuck with me the most is the depth of the settings and how everything feels so lived in and tangible. everyone wants to make a fake world and town and university but no one else has EVER done it that well

#like the college setting especially is so delicious to me #there isn't a day that goes by that i don't think about the campus map and the building names and the haus and the stop and shops #ugh i need hardcore analysis injected into my damn veins #also this could be it's own post. but #the generations of players and how every fan has different people that really speak to them #like i'm not a huge kent/tater or dex/nursey fan and honestly am pretty ambivalent to jack/bitty #(don't take this the wrong way)#but i LOVE ransom and holster and shitty and lardo #and even some of the other characters like bully and tango though i admit the later years don't hit as hard for me as the first couple #i just love that everyone finds something to go batshit over #the attention to detail was just so so incredible and still for SURE holds up #no matter what aspect #i was never super directly involved in the fandom but when i think back on formative pieces of media for me as a person and as a writer #i don't think that there are many things that compare #if you've read my writing i don't think it's hard to see the correlation at all #also if you want to talk check please analysis (or can rec me others' analysis!!!) i'd be forever grateful #otherwise i'm just going to keep marinating forever #omgcp #check please #omg check please

somebody shoot me with a gun until I am dead before I write the first chapter of that pirate thing for like. Genuinely the eighth or ninth time.

#i have versions i like the vibes of #i have versions i like the pacing of #i have versions i like the writing of #i have not a single one that manages to hit even 2 out of those 3 criteria #Like. I think part of the issue is the setting is dreamy its soft and floaty and things arnt Right #but the first thing that happens is a guy loudly boasting about how much hes going to enjoy sexually assaulting his deuteragonist #hes lying. but Toi'uhla doesn't know that. The people ze is choosing to sacrifice zerself for dont know that.#the child whos experiencing the fear of death for the first time doesn't know hes bluffing either.#and the entire time theyre on a boat thats floating in empty nothing in a universe that has no stars left.#So much of making a tangible Threat like that hit is slowing for a moment and describing the ugly details of like #existing. as a physical person in a physical world. This horrible thing is happening and while it does the wind is messing up your hair #That sort of thing.#But there is no wind. there is no water. or rain. Toi'uhla's sense of smell is almost non existent. so ze cant think about the body oder #of that many people in that close of quarters.#And all while this is happening. i have to set up that these are two alien species with distinct cultures and Very different perspectives #on what is happening. Lordakai Senior is the one who lead the raid that killed Toi'uhla's sire and zer siblings.#But ze only knows the name Lordakai. bc for Zer it is completely reasonable to assume that the two Lordakai's are the same guy #Koita are long lived. Toi'uhla has never had reason to learn how to tell how old they are #Lordakai jr is absolutely riding on his dads name. but he doesn't know his dad was a privateer #So like. Theres a lot of shit happening in a weird setting #With two characters that need to Mesh while both putting up complete fronts.#and it needs to set up the stakes and themes for the rest of the damn story.#qnd its just a lot man. I love this project. i love these characters. but there's so many moving pieces bc theres had to be to make enough #Stuff to fill out the long spaces where they're just. on a pirate ship. being bored.#im probably over thinking this #blehgh

What about the religious aspects. Hell what about the economic aspects #What about disability - physical or otherwise - aspects. What about age aspects. What about family aspects.#There are SO many goddamn aspects to look at in just this one hypothetical homeless encampment #That can determine and influence how people there interact with each other #Especially given outside influences such as police and civilians #If you only focus on the most cis-centric gender binary perspective of this hypothetical homeless encampment #Then you just suck at intersectional feminism. I'm sorry but you do. You just suck at it #Get better and do better before thinking you can pull a seat up to this table #And yeah. Obviously these different aspects can fall on the women too #A homeless muslim woman is highly likely to experience a tougher time than a homeless white christian man #But then the homeless latino man with a physical disability is highly likely to have a tougher time than a homeless white woman with-#No disability at all #It's not about who is more oppressed or any of that shit #It's looking at all the pieces that make up a whole and seeing the issues that can come from some of those pieces #One of the biggest points of intersectional feminism is to not make the oppression olympics #It's to give a voice and a name to the tool that's being used to beat countless of us into the dirt

i realize they were likely to some degree basing the casting on oda's SBS answer of what modern countries the straw hats would be from (luffy's actor is mexican which i guess they thought was close enough to brazilian). but it is still weird seeing white characters named nami and sanji

i think while varis's main instrument is the violin, his go to instrument for downtime is the lyre

#talking abt my baldies gate character btw hfkfjdjf i think this is the first time ive mentioned his name on here #but yeah like the violin is HIS instrument but its like Serious for him hes dedicated his life to it #and i dont wanna get into the whole history but lets just say he did a lot to learn under a master and have opportunities #to play for audiences so that in addition to the fact he loves it makes him take it very seriously #so if he wants to just hang out i think hed play the lyre. and whatever i think is the truth i guess since im his creator right LMAO #just based on events and checks that happened during my playthrough i think even tho bc of the rules of the game #he can play all the available instruments his order of proficiency is violin > lyre > lute > flute > drum #wahhhh i have so many drawing ideas but im already drawing something and as always every piece takes me forever #also i was having a bit of a crisis earlier bc yknow varis is a word in finnish and i only now remembered that #names and nouns have different rules for conjugation even if theyre the same word #but then i was like did i fucking make that up bc would you rlly not just say säteen for säde for example #but then is that different bc of the d omg i just dont know

OH now I get why Master!McCrystalSkull could exist. Cus obviously if Martin!Doctor is from the ‘Master’ base, that frees up the ‘Doctor’ base to be ‘The Master’, and if that is using the space-tentacle-TARDIS-coded-child-creature at least in part, then an apparent species-shift to TARDIS Crystal Person is perfectly within reason.
