i had filled the dishwasher a bit earlier and put it on, and now while i was fetching myself food i saw that it was done. someone had opened it, presumably to let the hot air out, so i looked inside, just because. i got weirdly happy at seeing all the clean dishes that I had put in there. its not like ive never filled a dishwasher before, im not really sure why this time was so satisfying to me. maybe its because i simultaneously emptied the sink full of dirty dishes that has been bugging me for a while. nothing more annoying than not being able to get water because the dishes are stacked so high. simple pleasures i guess.

gosh i never watch anything new asdfghjkl i just keep rewatching stuff. i just finished rewatching downton abbey and that show always feels warm and home-y to me<3 loveeee watching the characters develop through the seasons

ive been thinking about what i am craving to watch and i thought about a downton abbey prequel. i still dont know whether films or a series would work better, but either way i think it will be very interesting and compelling to watch. we could learn about how cora and robert met and wed, how mary, edith, sybil were born and raised and even meet old lord grantham (violet’s husband). we could see how carson was when he was young and meet the butler then...? idk pls send your thoughts or reblog :)

i. 19930606 izmir, turkey. with her father’s name always accompanied by strange silence , it’s her mother borrowing both roles, struggling to make ends meet, as her presence is only remembered by her sunken eyes, exhaustion carving deep lines into her face.
ii. ilayda doesn’t blame her, she never had, even back then. her mother is doing her best. she tries to help her out as much as she can. during the day, already pretending to be an adult, helping out her mother as much as she can. she can read her mother’s expression, almost seeing through her, guilt tugging at her heart and yet she tells her she’s fine. being a child is boring anyway.
iii. yet, she’d watch the other children her age, a half-covered face peeking through the dirty window, remorse squeezing her heart as she’d catch herself wishing to change lives just for one day. but instead, it’s only at night, when her mother’s eyes would shut from exhaustion, her little sister asleep in their shared room, ilayda would allow herself to be the child she was. she’s sneaking out at night, meeting the only friend that hadn’t deemed her a ‘weirdo’ like everyone else. pretending that the night was endless, wishting that tomorrow wouldn’t come.
iv. however, her escape from reality, has never been a safe space; and she’d learn about it that one day. they want to hurt her and no matter how much she’s struggling, no matter how much she pretends she’s an adult, a lie couldn’t protect her. she was just a weak child.
v. fortunately, someone finds her and helps her out. the stranger doesn’t say much but for ilayda he’s a hero. and he’d become the father, whose name wouldn’t be accompanied by a strange silence.
vi. at first he’s annoyed with her. a strange kid following him wherever he goes. he gives it some time, but ilayda would become even more determined with every passing day. in the end, he agrees to help her out, teaching her how to protect herself. and making her promise that she’d leave him alone when he’s taught her everything he knew.
vii. her promise was a lie indeed. and he somehow ( involuntarily) has accepted the role of being the father of a child as stubborn as her. even when ilayda finds out about his Involvement with the irish mafia, she doesn’t seem to be fazed by it. in fact, in the end she ends up following him to new york, working alongside with him.
viii. however, this story doesn’t have a happy ending ( or at least the most proximate definition to a happy ending one in this world can have. ). and she ends up, witnessing the fall of the person who was like a father to her. she’s furious, not only at the person who killed him but at the organization she believed would protect him. she believes she needs to take revenge. not only on the person who murdered him but on the whole system. pretending to be on their side, planning to take them down from within.

her smile is sickly sweet, any feigned sincerity tainted by cruelty. yet, she pretends to care, knowing how to curve her lips, and pitch her voice that one would think that it is real. she’ll sugarcoat if she needs to, wrapping cruel words in the disguise of naivete. her actions are only controlled by purpose, her intentions rarely good
. 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
- the person responsible for her father figure’s death, her sibling (wc i also need to send to the main lol), people who think of her as a friend but she only uses them, on the flipside people she only approached because she wanted to use them but she finds herself caring for them, people (in the irish mafia) who might suspect her, people whom she secretly works with because she believes they’d serve some purpose, someone who might start out really liking her ( can also be romantic for drama ) but slowly starts to see the cracks in her fake persona, someone she tried to ... kill ( lol ) exes, enemies to lovers, enemies etc. ( ANYTHING REALLY !!! )

I watched that Downton Abbey: a new era movie tonight and ive started brainrotting again.
Something about that series that really enchanted me was how many characters there are. At times it's hard to keep track of all the names and relationships, but that's a plus for me, I love the complexity.
So that made me think about the Boontocunes, the mc's family. He has like six brothers. I should make some of them sisters instead, that would explain mc's soft spoken (okay I'll say it, feminine) nature.
There are a few very important things about the Boontocunes. First, their father has always been a businessman. It has run in their family for like four or five generations. They are of very high status; in this world the title of Prince is just below that of Emperor.
Think of it sort of from the perspective of Dune. There's the Emperor, and then there are the Major Houses. Being a Prince is like being head of a Major House.
So things are going pretty good, they're very rich which is very nice, and the father's sons are being trained to take over the family business soon.
That is until Edward, the eldest, snaps under the pressure of having to be the perfect first born and says "no, I don't want to go into this miserable business, I want to paint" and runs away to another country.
The family disowns him (more like the father disowns him), especially because Edward finds love in a commoner woman, which is super unheard of in this society because it's classist and status and wealth is everything.
So Elairoe, the second born, must step up as the new model son. He marries well, for money not for love, but he is an entrepreneur and has his own business. So now everyone is turning to mc Ran, the third born who is just coming of age, to get married and do "the right thing".
Ran hates this because he has still secretly kept in touch with Edward and has figured out that he doesn't want to marry, doesn't want what his father wants.
So on the evening of the ball the Boontocunes are going to hold in order to find a lady for Ran to court, he runs away. Sneaks out the window on a rope made of sheets dressed as a commoner and flees.
And somehow no one realizes its the local Prince's third son.
But see, already, we've got a super complex relationship between Edward and the father, Edward and Ran, Ran and the father, Elairoe and Ran, Elarioe and the father, I mean come on, that's a tangled mess!
And I love it. It's fantastic.
It's all coming out really slowly and messily, but at least it's coming out.

going 2 be honest lads I'm looking forward to entering an era when every franchise I care about has moved on so I can just stop engaging fmcmcm I'm gonna watch a few mcu movies (thor 4 and black panther and I'm gonna watch this falcon and the winter soldier show) and ofc I'm gonna watch episode 9 but beyond that.....I'm free..no more stress. cant wait to have absolutely nothing to talk about at christmas bc I've disengaged from the last things that made me relatable to my relatives. I'm henry david thoreau but instead of moving out to a cabin in my buddy's woods I'm exclusively watching weird shows about lesbians and repression, period dramas, and things everyone else watched 10 years ago and I only find out about new artists when theyve already won a grammy

UGH I've been gone again!!! Spent the last few months dedicating my time to portfolio building!!!
anyway things to mention that I've done the last few months!!
happy norwuz (Persian New Year) which happened last month! i left the same day as nowruz for GDC in March so for me it was a blip, but I hope everyone had a good first day of spring!
played life is strange, and started the second game too!! i LOVED the first game and i know ill love the second one so much more. my fav character in the first game is very obvious so i won't mention it and let y'all stew in my predictability.
watched bridgerton since i kept seeing it everywhere for the second season! i really enjoyed it cuz i enjoy period things no matter what they're about (the great and downton abbey come to mind easily even though they're WILDLY different so it's no surprise I'd like this one). not much to say about bridgerton—i passively enjoyed all of the story and couples (i didn't get too invested in anything major), but if i had to pick fav characters, i love anthony (obviously) and edwina (not with anthony, just as a person, tho i was happy to take whatever the plot would throw at me). also love daph a lot! i do have a rare pair i devoured on AO3 but that's for my eyes only.
i played ai: the somnium files a couple months ago and ADORED it. probably my fav spike chunsoft game, and i wish i could wipe my memory to play it again. i used to say that about 999 but nope—aitsf completely dethroned it.
ive been waiting for scaramouche crumbs in genshin for forever
been playing pokemon arceus!! I LOVE IT!!! i love the grind and how much u learn abt pokemon! i really don't know much about it and have been keeping myself unspoiled. and also, anyone who's wondering can also probably predict who my fav character is so far—just by aesthetic :')
finally, i'm thinking about properly opening commissions again, only a few slots, but i need to get back in the habit first. i had to stay off them as i tried to manage some things for a while but finances are tight so id be happy to give commissions a go while i wait for job opportunities to get back to me. my professional art is vastly different from what i post online, so i need to dedicate some time to setting that stuff for my fan accounts and see what happens.
anyway!! time to start properly posting my drafts again ;_;
