Sims 4: Bloodlines Loading Screen By Losieee

Salutations kindred 🦇

I did a something little different than usual, i created a custom loading screen! I wanted it to fit the style of both Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and Sims 4. So i mixed their aesthetics to create the perfect loading screen when playing with my Sims 4: Bloodlines builds.

This will also pair perfect with the upcoming Sims 4: Bloodlines save file im working on. But it is gonna be a while before i am ready to share that, so stay patient friends.

This is my first mod creation EVER so pls message me if you run into any problems!

How to install

Download the .package file

Drag the .package file into your sims 4 mods folder

Open the game, and the loading screen should appear.

You should only have one loading screen in use at the time!!

It's always just a matter of time when I get back to Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines again. So I always keep little piece of its vibe in Sims. More precisely, not a piece, but a whole pie that I can share 😈

I found somewhere in the deepest corners of the internet set of conversions from VtMB with some exterior decor and interior furniture. I added archive within the CC folder in case if you want to use haunted statues for the facade instead of the TheJim07's statues. Or if you lack Jeanette's room on the last floor (I did not furnish this floor).

I placed lot in the Willow Creek instead of The Blue Velvet Nightclub and Goth family seems to love it more than anyone else.

The second floor of the Last Round bar was often empty, but Val settled down at the farthest table anyway. The melodic sounds of "I don't want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith came from the radio. Footsteps were heard from the side of the bar. - Val, is everything okay? Nines stopped, looking at Valencia from the side. - Yes, turning her head to the voice, Val answered and added, - almost. - Almost? Valencia stood up, folding her arms across her chest. Even a conversation with the Baron of Los Angeles could not distract her from her thoughts. - It's okay. I came back from Carmilla's apartment. I know, I've been there a hundred times... But, today... Val didn't say anything, as if she was trying to find the right words. Nines came closer and took Valencia firmly by the shoulders. "Did you find something?" Baby, what are you up to? - the man said softly, it's so unusual to hear his voice so surprised and to some extent confused. The perpetually frowning gaze of gray eyes looked at Valencia suspiciously, as if trying to solve a difficult riddle. - Send me to London. An ambassador. - what? It sounded like an objection, not a question. - No! It's too dangerous, especially now. "Dangerous?" Val waved it off, mentally recalling the shit she went through three years ago. Nines understood and didn't say a word. "We have to come to a conclusion, Nines. Interrogations of Camarilla spies will yield nothing. We need to act. I'll be able to solve something in London. If it doesn't work out with the general problem, then I'll deal with my own. You can't leave Los Angeles for long. Especially since you have to meet Eric Cranford. - Damn it! I hate it when you're right! Nines said fiercely, but without hatred. "It happens sometimes," Val said ironically and jumped on the table. - I will return as soon as I achieve my goals. You know, Nines, I'm not the girl you saved from the Coven and werewolves anymore. "I know," Nines replied, and he walked up to Val and carefully removed a lock of hair from her face. - But I haven't let you go anywhere yet. Tell me," these words sounded like an order and a plea at the same time. "You know I have nothing to hide from you," Valencia said languidly. She reached for his lips, and he pulled her closer to him.

THE SIMS 4

He enjoys recreating Midwest-like towns in the worlds of Newcrest, Willow Creek, Brindleton Bay & Copperdale

He uses/downloads both mods and cc (cc is cosmetic stuff for the game like clothing, decor, hair, furniture etc) for the game

Has has decorated his worlds as Halloween wonderlands - spooky decor and lighting is everywhere

He built Laurie's home right next to his own childhood home

Downloaded the 'Extreme Violence' mod so he could terrorise and murder the poor sims

Downloaded his navy coveralls and his mask cc

Controls Laurie's household and makes her life miserable

She hasn't showered in weeks and is forced to use a toilet on full display out on the front lawn

You have to drag him away from the PC otherwise he'll sit there causing misery and bringing chaos to the lives of the sims forever

A killer stalking the woods for victims trespassers?

Can actually play as himself?

A psychological horror centered around an artist whose one and only goal is to complete his Magnum Opus? Vincent immediately bought this game

Vincent takes his time traversing through the paintings (trippy doorways) trying to uncover every clue and unearth every bit of lore

The imagery and artistry of the game has inspired some of his own recent works

Is fascinated by the psychedelic horror and is not often affected by the jump scares or disturbing imagery though sometimes he'll jump especially when his character turns around to find a painting had crept up right behind him

Plays as often as he can, though not at the expense of the "family business"

CARRIE

THE SIMS 4

Like Michael, she can spend hours in front of the PC screen playing the Sims 4

Unlike Michael though, she is not murdering and terrorising the sims (unless they really cross her)

She loves the world of Henford-on-Bagley

She downloaded (because she can't build for shit) a little yellow and stone country cottage from the gallery where you, her, your pets and livestock live

A quiet, happy life filled with love - that's all she wants. And while the two of you still live in the noisy city, the Sims can provide her dream life until the two of you are able to move one day

In the game she is a housewife who makes money off of her knitting, baking, small scale farming and other crafts while you own and work at the local vet clinic

Decorates your shared cottage and your sims with the cottagecore aesthetic

JENNIFER CHECK

VAMPIRE THE MASQUERADE BLOODLINES

Plays this game during the week nights

Has downloaded a ton of cosmetic mods to update the graphics of this older game

She chose her vampiress to be of the Toreador clan as they were the closest vampires that resembled Succubi/Incubi

Has fun using the seduction dialogue options in the game to get her way

Has heard some great songs in the game to add to her Spotify playlist

The game makes her wonder if vampires actually exist... is she, a Succubus exists then why not vampires? If they do exist she hopes they don't sparkle

WILL GRAHAM

DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN

Plays this when he can't sleep - which is almost every single night

Enjoys getting to play as a detective and the crime scene investigations

Playing as androids with artificial intelligence adds an interesting sci-fi element for him

There are a lot of moral choices that need to be made in the game and he's not so sure a lot of his fbi colleagues would agree with many of his choices - especially Jack and Alana

He doesn't think Jack would appreciate some of the similarities he finds with Hank and him

Also wonders if Hannibal isn't an android himself as his eerie calm and levelheadedness and barely-there facial expressions would certainly allude to it

BILLY & STU

MARIO KART

They love playing with you

After watching movies on the weekend you all settle down with snacks and play the Mario Kart games

Billy and Stu are of course Mario and Luigi

You and Stu never get angry if you lose but Billy just about loses his shit

Billy will sulk and give whoever won the race the stink-eye

Because of Billy's attitude, Stu makes it his mission to get Billy to lose. His favourite method is throwing banana peels in front of Billy's kart. Even Mario (Billy's character) gives Stu the side-eye

Regardless, you all have great fun despite Billy being a sore loser - but you and Stu sure do make it up to him later in the night in your shared bed

Welcome kindred, to the first official installment of Sims 4: Bloodlines!

Smiling Jack: "What a scene, man! Hoo-wee! Then they just plop ya out here like a naked baby in the woods. How 'bout that?"

Sims 4: Bloodlines is a fun little side project i started, where i want to recreate some of my favorite places from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines in Sims 4 WITHOUT using any mods or cc!!

To kick the series off we have The Beach House located on the Santa Monica beach, that you encounter during the "Surf's Up" quest!

I made the build as close as i could to the game + some extra added stuff to give it more details and look better in Sims 4. I have also included some references and objects that can be found in VTM:B!

Another Game To Add To The List

So -- you guys all know that I like video games. I mean, I post on a pretty regular basis about the antics my Sims in my latest Sims 4 save file are getting up to. And you all know that I love to put my favorite characters in my favorite video games if I'm able to -- or even if I'm not. My current Sim family is my Valicer OT3; my Fallout 4 protagonist is Victor Van Dort (or as close as I can get with FO4's character creator and artstyle), and my Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines Malkavian Fledgling is Alice Liddell (I may not be able to actually reflect that with her appearance in the game, but I can sure as hell write about her adventures doing all the quests!) I have a vested interest in this sort of thing.

So -- when my friend @gaydragonwizards got me into Baldur's Gate 3, leading me to purchase the game for my birthday using the Steam gift cards my parents had gotten me, I immediately thought, "Okay, so -- Alice has VTMB, and Victor has FO4...but a certain newbie roller coaster OC does not have a game yet. And this one DOES allow you to do a custom character..." Which led to me deciding that Smiler was going to be my "Tav" in BG3! I haven't gotten very far in the game yet (I had to do an early restart to add in a mod patch that the creator was VERY SURE shouldn't be put in an existing playthrough because it fucks with XP and leveling a bit, and then recent hotfixes possibly breaking quest items made me too nervous to play for a bit), but I have gotten my Smiler set up, made it past the Nautiloid segment, and have started exploring the wilderness around the ravaged beach! Here's some shots of Smiler in the game:

Smiler's look from the character creation/level up screen! They're a half-elf with Body #2 and Head #5 because that was the combo that actually looked the most like my Smiler Sim -- have a comparison shot:

It's not a PERFECT match, but nothing was going to be -- it's pretty close, though! The hairstyle is of particular note because that is in fact one of the very first mods I picked up for this game: Alt Lae’zel Hair For Tav! None of the in-game hairstyles had the right sort of "bangs" that my Sim!Smiler sports, so I was REALLY happy to spot this on Nexus Mods to give my Tav!Smiler the right look, at least from the front. :) (And, hilariously, the mod was in fact uploaded ON MY BIRTHDAY, so I'm counting it as an inadvertent birthday present.)

Smiler's arrival on the Ravaged Beach, having just woken up from their little fall out of the Nautiloid! As you can probably guess by the outfit, I started them out as a Bard. That was the class that seemed to make the most sense for them, both from a "the roller coaster in Alton Towers is often associated with upbeat music and dancing, especially after the original Festival of Thrills and The Smiler Takeover, and bards DO get access to a good number of mind control spells" and from a "my personal take on Smiler is that they are super charismatic and want to make as many people happy as possible, and the Bard's high Charisma start combined with the Entertainer background suits that perfectly." XD However, they're not JUST a Bard these days -- thanks to the further power of mods, upon their first level-up, they became a Bard/Artificer! :D I picked that class because it has a whole sub-class dedicated to Alchemy, and one of my headcanons for my Smiler is that chemistry/alchemy (depending on the universe) is their thing. Plus it just looks like a super-cool class and mod. (And yes, I do have 5e Spells and Unlock Level Curve to enhance things further, with the appropriate patches (including ULC's patch to smooth out the weird XP valley while leveling up -- learning about THAT was what prompted me to restart so I could install it). Oh, and the exclamation mark is from Camp Event Notifications -- it's telling me that Smiler should Long Rest soon to get one of the special camp events.)

Smiler hanging out in the Wilderness camp! I came here for the first time after picking up Shadowheart, Astarion, and Gale, and was amazed at just how PRETTY the camp is. I mean, look at that waterfall over by the ruin that houses the Magic Mirror! :D Seriously, this game is gorgeous -- I've spent a decent amount of time just wandering around with the camera, admiring the scenery. XD Anyway, as you can see, Smiler picked up some new clothes -- the main outfit is some basic leather armor, dyed with the dye available in the Traveler's chest (I first dyed their starting jerkin, but hated the resultant color scheme -- I'm not wild about the red arms on this set, but at least the yellow pants and black chestpiece feel right!), while the cape and their new lute are from the Digital Deluxe content -- the "Cape Of The Red Prince" and the "Lute of the Merryweather Bard." (Hey, I got this for my birthday, I wasn't not going to get the Digital Deluxe content!) I had them give the lute a little try in-camp -- the upbeat Bard song DEFINITELY suits them. XD

And finally, Smiler with their current companions, ready to head to the nearby chapel on the beach -- Shadowheart (in some new, slightly better Sturdy Armor), Gale (in his robe and wizard hat), and Astarion (sporting more DD content, the "Bicorne of the Sea Beast" and the "Needle of the Outlaw Rogue" (the dagger on his hip)). They are indeed a motley group. XD Hopefully Smiler's 17 Charisma will allow them to talk their way out of most binds!

Now, you may be thinking at this point, "Well, this is going to spark another AU, isn't it?" And you would be -- partially correct. Allow me to explain by excerpting part of my and Squid's conversation while they were recommending mods to me and I was telling them about my plans to do Tav!Smiler:

Squid: ((though -- there is one thing that has popped into my head. with playing Smiler, obviously you can't have any of your Valicer stuff going on in BG3 by default. and do you really want to give yourself ANOTHER AU by playing as them again :P )) Me: ((Oh, that's not really a worry -- the Valicer in the Dark crew already fucking claimed the game as a potential AU ))

YUP. Much like how my brain insisted that the Alice in my Fallout of Darkness stuff be a variant of my Malkavian!Alice from Londerland Bloodlines, thanks to me getting into BG3 at the same time as my obsession with Valicer In The Dark ramped up, the AU in my head is now the VITD trio going through the game. And while it's only a partially-formed pile of shitposts as of yet, that idea PROBABLY deserves its own post...

I read ‘Carmilla’ by Le Fanu and am already on my way to Stoker’s ‘Dracula’. Next, I want to make a short cycle of video games about vampires. By the way, it was the vampire game that introduced me to ‘Barry Lyndon’. Wanted to make sure what happened to the Prince Sebastian LaCroix in ‘Vampires the Masquerade – Bloodlines’ so I checked about other game ending. Wiki says that his character was drawn from Lord Bullingdon - one of the characters in Kubrick's drama. I was wondering if there was any parallel between these characters, so I watched the movie. In general, I don't really like movies and rarely watch them. However, Barry Lyndon is worth your attention if you like all things historical, with harpsichords, wide dresses and languid glances of ladies. Lady Honoria Lyndon will probably remain my favorite character for a long time. Just look at her big and sad eyes. Marisa Berenson (the actress) seems to have stepped out of Gainsborough's canvas. So I tried to recreate her in The Sims 4.

Film critic Roger Ebert recognized this film as one of the most beautiful films in history. The same Roger Ebert, who assured that games will never be art (being honest to the end, he later changed his opinion a little). If I recreate Lady Honoria in a game from a work that is art, is it still art or just a parody of it? In his article, Mr. Ebert goes to great lengths to prove why games are not cool. He gives his expert counterargument to every statement, and his tenacity makes you want to start jumping out of your pants to prove your point (even though he has already rested in peace and is unlikely to hear us). I also did it, especially when I was writing my diploma. But it is unlikely that we all will get anything constructive, because Mr. Ebert operates with the history of art and his huge professional experience. And we are just *pathetic players* playing our silly games, as in the first picture from his article.

At one time, trying to mentally argue with Roger Ebert led me to an existential crisis. And really, why is it important to me that games are recognized as art? Am I too passionate about the idea of something high and beautiful, or am I just looking for an excuse for why I play? Regardless, I'm sure whether you consider games to be an art form or not, if you're enjoying them, that's a good thing. You don't need an excuse to play, because if you're looking for an excuse to fence yourself off in your own eyes, maybe you have some serious problems, why you're replacing reality with games (for me it was depression that I had to treat).

I know it all sounds messy, but it's just a thought for the night. By the way, there is no connection between the characters of Prince LaCroix and Lord Bullingdon. Perhaps the fact is that both to some extent wanted to return what belonged to them. Fortunately or unfortunately, LaCroix failed to do so.
