trying to keep myself from buying the new sims expansion pack which gets the most unbelievably bad reviews on every platform and is generally regarded as an overpriced load of bullshit that adds absolutely nothing of value to the game and has a very good chance of rendering your game completely unplayable bc of how badly it's produced. but on the other hand i want to build apartments...

Local woman downloads favourite game onto computer only to realise she likes it much better on switch, 15 dead 73 injured

#stardew on switch just feels… correct. idk #maybe it’s just because i’m so used to the controls. i mean rotating furniture is a whole ass process but other than that everything is just #so smooth and so fast to do. pc feels so clunky to me idk #maybe once i get used to it i’ll be zooming idk. like the controls make sense but i still can’t get my head around them #maybe i’m just not used to playing games on my computer lol. apart from the sims but that’s 90% clicking stuff #it also annoys the hell out of me that the e and f keys are so close to wasd because i’m always accidentally clicking them and bringing up #my inventory or journal and it drives me insane #is there a way to disable that? like i’d be fine just pressing escape to get in the pause menu & physically clicking on my journal #numbers & tab to switch tools around is genius though; no further notes #i honestly would’ve continued playing on switch forever but 1) there’s only so much you can do and i want to add mods (sve for certain #and maybe ridgeside & always raining in the valley if i can) so that i can have a damn near infinite amount of content #and 2) my friend doesn’t have a switch and she wants to play co-op #like could we get another joycon; connect my switch to her tv (my tv would never work) and play that way? almost definitely #but it works out cheaper for both of us to buy a whole ass copy of the game than for us to go halves on a controller #the controller also wouldn’t be used for very much whereas a copy of stardew on each of our computers will definitely get played #as long as i can fucking get my head around the controls that is #i’m so glad it’s the kind of game you can take your time in lmao #personal

ode to a faux grecian urn

Howdy everyone,

Today's house, built in 2001, comes to you from, you guessed it, the Chicago suburbs. The house is a testimony to traditional craftsmanship and traditional values (having lots of money.) The cost of painting this house greige is approximately the GDP of Slovenia so the owners have decided to keep it period perfect (beige.) Anyway.

This 5 bedroom, 7.5 bathroom house clocks in at a completely reasonable 12,700 square feet. If you like hulking masses and all-tile interiors, it could be all yours for the reasonable price of $2.65 million.

The problem with having a house that is 12,700 square feet is that they have to go somewhere. At least 500 of them were devoted to this foyer. Despite the size, I consider this a rather cold and lackluster welcome. Cold feet anyone?

The theme of this house is, vaguely, "old stuff." Kind of like if Chuck E Cheese did the sets for Spartacus. Why the dining room is on a platform is a good question. The answer: the American mind desires clearly demarcated space, which, sadly, is verboten in our culture.

The other problem with a 12,700 square foot house is that even huge furniture looks tiny in it.

Entering cheat codes in "Kitchen Building Sim 2000" because I spent my entire $70,000 budget on the island.

Of course, a second sitting room (without television) is warranted. Personally, speaking, I'm team Prince.

I wonder why rich people do this. Surely they must know it's tacky right? That it's giving Liberace? (Ask your parents, kids.) That it's giving Art.com 75% off sale if you enter the code ROMANEMPIRE.

Something about the bathroom really just says "You know what, I give up. Who cares?" But this is not even the worst part of the bathroom...

Not gonna lie, this activates my flight or fight response.

If you remember Raggedy Ann you should probably schedule your first colonoscopy.

Anyways, that does it for the interior. Let's take a nice peek at what's out back.

I love mowing in a line. I love monomaniacal tasks that are lethal to gophers.

The Furniture Showroom (CC Pack for The Sims 4)

Over the last few months I have seen some pieces of furniture that I wanted to make but that didn't fit well in any of my previews cc pack ideas. I saved them for a while and I finally found a very cool idea where they all can live together: A Furniture Showroom.

And of course, I always have wanted to recreate the ICONIC Heart-shaped Bed and Hot Tub from The Sims 1 and well, since this is the cc pack of February, I thought it would be appropriate for Valentine's Day.

Along the kinky bedroom and the motel style patio, I created 4 more mini collections that you can use to decorate your Sims houses: a bathroom, a sunroom space, an eclectic reading area and a mini study room.

WooHoo Collection, the bed is inspired in the real life Heart-shaped Bed from the "Pass the Spark" MV featuring Anitta.

Niagara collection. Inspired by the ICONIC Niagara Love Tub from The Sims: Hot Date.

Eccentric and Bogat collection.

Guan and Puzzlion collection.

RuneStone my dark love letter to you this year. I have put love, blood and many hidden secrets into these objects. Some you can only find during gameplay, others will only show themselves when you aren't directly looking.

RuneStone is an 68 asset large set full of Gothic, dark and mostly functional items. I'm going to list a few highlights below the catalog. It is mostly BGC, but what needs a pack will be properly named as such.

* not pictured here are: 2 wallpapers, 1 stone wall, 2 wooden floors, 1 ceiling tile *

A pocket door is a door that slides into walls. It's especially nice to look at in dark academia builds and haunted mansions.

A SHROMP that acts as an anti-monster toy. Many thanks to @surely-sims for the original iconic SHROMP!

A rounded bar to fill out small rounded spaces. These are seamless, so don't hesitate to put them into your turrets or belfry.

Lots of visual effects that you can toggle on and off.

A see-through dungeon floor, anyone?

Two TVs that don't look like TVs. Who has a flatscreen in an medieval castle? One slots to things, the other has slots.

Stairs. As in, a staircase you use in BB mode. Not much else to say there.

Dormer windows and matching fake roofing, as well as enough stained glass to make a cathedral weep in joy.

This set is tagged as Vintage and Storybook furniture style and will behave appropriately in-game.

Welcome to Club Tropics, a place to let loose and dance the night away under tropical neon lights! Club Tropics is an exclusive nightclub known for its DJs and tropical-inspired food and drinks. The main nightclub is located on the ground floor, which has multiple bars and seating and, of course, a dance floor. On the second floor, there is a restaurant that overlooks the nightclub.

Computer Lab Series 1

This set is inspired by: early 80s computers, my dad’s office when he taught electrical engineering, and VHS tape artifacts. Many of the pieces in here are stylized versions of real-life things, which I’ve included more info about under the cut.

This set contains 11 new meshes and features 2 retro computers, a desk chair, a desk, and lots of retro clutter items.

Technical notes/known issues:

Sims’ hands slightly clip into the computers with angled keyboards; this is not something I can fix due to how the animations are set up.

The computers don’t have mice (they wouldn’t have had them at the time), so the Sims will move their hands around as if they were using an invisible mouse.

The BBC Micro computer has a medium decor slot on top -- perfect for cute plants, books, clutter, etc. In testing, I noticed that if you place something there that trails down the sides, Sims will not want to use the computer (you have to make them sit in the chair and then interact with it). Most items don’t seem to do this so I’m leaving the slot in - just know if you put trailing stuff on top, this might happen.

The cassette recorder has a decor slot in the perfect place to actually put the cassette tape in it, and I love it! I’d recommend picking the cassette tape you want before putting it in; once it’s in the recorder, I couldn’t figure out an easy way to get it out again. You can always delete the whole thing and re-place a cassette recorder.

Lilith Chillin' Areas - Part 2 (Coffee Corner) - Availible for Everyone!

Hi friends! I hope you're all well.

The second set of the Chillin' Areas theme is the "Coffee Corner". Don't you want your sims to have a cozy corner to make tea or coffee for themselves. Maybe you don't want to. But I did it anyway.

Actually, the purpose of the Chillin' Areas theme was that they were mini-sets. So what I was aiming for is to release several sets related to this theme per month. But nothing I planned is working out the way I wanted. This is a problem that I need to solve, and I want to achieve this goal next month. I will also start the baby-related set after the infant update and the new expansion pack are released. At least I'll publish it in full.

If we return to the set, there are currently 31 items on the set. (Twelve of these are decorative versions of Maxis' bakeries.) The rest consists of furniture compatible with the design of the Lilith set and clutters in general. When the set is completed, a coffee, tea and espresso machine inspired by SMEG will be added, as well as extra decorative objects.

If during this time you also come up with something related to this theme, I would like to hear it.

The items included in the set are as follows;

UPDATE (03.12.2022) SMEG Coffee Machine, Espresso Machine and Coffee Grinder have been added. Unfortunately, I couldn't make a tea maker because I couldn't clone the tea maker in the base game. There is a small problem in the animation of the coffee machine that I can't fix. I will update if I find a solution. Get Together EP required for the espresso machine and grinder to be functional. All of them have 20 swatches.
