Viola redesign?
Yes
I'm not sure what exactly she is - because while I really like the "She's a Bayojeanne kid" side of things, I also love the theory/headcanon made by @leolithe (original post!) that Viola is actually just an amalgamation of all the people Bayo knows and loves - Rodin, Jeanne, Luka, Enzo, Loki, so on and so forth - so I ended up making two lore bombs under the cut to go along with both, since I couldn't decide on just one
Viola being a Bayojeanne Kid
With Viola being a Bayojeanne kid, I could see a "Possesed/Kidnapped by the Fae" situation going on with her
If you're like me, you didn't like Singularity. Hell, if you're truly like me you hated Singularity. Which is why I'm benching him from his villain pedestal in favor of the Fae.
Fae are much more compelling villains, and if the Cereza and The Lost Demon Cereza is the same Cereza as Bayonetta 3, then I'm pretty fucking sure the Fae are itching for revenge.
Aaaaaand what better revenge on a witch than to take her cub away?
And that's what happened - once Bayo and Jeanne had their little baby girl the rebel coalition of Faeries started plotting on how to steal her away. They probably have agents or spies to keep tabs on them, and once Viola was idk maybe a young teenager - they came in and snatched her away right under her mothers' noses.
The Faeries plan wasn't to just replace Viola with a Fae double - that would be too mild to be proper revenge for what Cereza did to them - so instead they settled for transforming Viola into a Fae, so she would never return to her mothers at all.
...but they failed to realize that not only were they messing with Umbra Witch MOTHERS, they were also messing with an Umbra Witch CHILD.
Cereza and Jeanne at least have some self control over themselves and their magic. Viola had a whooping total of none, zero, negative, she was a ball of chaos and untamed demonic potential - she was arguably worse than child Cereza ever HOPED TO BE, and that's how a portion of Avalon Forest dissapeared in one night 💀.
But to make things clear, what happened was that Viola was able to stop the Fae ritual before they could complete it - and then proceeded to cause massive chaos on the Avalon Forest while trying to get out, only for Cereza and Jeanne to come in, rescue her and trash the remaining Faeries like they were in a Rage Room.
However, some effects from the Fae ritual still were present in Viola, and it didn't matter how much they tried to, it wouldn't come off - so Viola had to learn to live as a 1/3 Fae from then on. Which, as far as Viola is concerned, if having a very powerful Fae form and a sick ass hair and face mark is living as a 1/3 Fae, then she's good with it lmao
And yes, due to the ritual being stopped at about halfway, it caused Viola to have this angry looking dark purple mark on her face - her purple hair strands aren't painted, it's just because the face marking seeped into her hair and made it into THAT. She thinks it's cool tho :)
Viola being an amalgamation of all the people Cereza loves/loved (Fae creation)
With Viola being an amalgamation of Cereza's memories created by the Fae, I can see her as being meant to be a weapon that chose to not be a weapon
In this scenario, I can see Viola being meant to be a counter attack against Cereza - "the only one who can defeat me is myself" and all that - essentialy, a glorified clone.
The Fae used up all their knowledge gathered about Cereza and her family circle, and crafted Viola based on those people and memories. She has everything - Jeanne's volatile/short fuse nature, Balder's flair for dramatics, Luka's determination, Rodin's resourcefulness, even Enzo's goofyness and Rosa's agility and steadiness, Loki's sassy behavior and desire for independence, and most importantly, Cereza's power.
She was born and bred to be the perfect anti-Cereza weapon, capable of blocking any and all her attacks, and counter them accordingly - but with how many people were used to make her, her mind is a jumble of feelings and memories that are not her own at all, and they influence her in ways the Fae didn't imagine it would.
Cereza's love for her mom, the memories of the sadness over not being able to rescue her, her love for Jeanne, how she considers Enzo, Luka and Rodin as her family and would do anything to protect them, all of her experiences and feelings and memories - Viola feels all, she knows everything, for fuck's sake she can hear Cereza's heart bleeding for these people - and she can't find it in herself to ever turn her hand against them, she feels too much, she's too soft. She also feels for Cereza too, how could she not, when she was made from her?
However, as much as she has Cereza's memories and feelings, she slowly begins to wish for her own self, to not be a weapon or a clone or just another Fae, but Viola, her own person with her own feelings and her own experiences. Which is what drives her to reach out for Cereza and her family as a call for help (the gang probably adopt her as a collective but she only calls Cereza [and maybe Jeanne] Mom)
The facial markings and hair are from the fact that while she is quite the outstanding creation, she's still both a Fae and an imperfect copy. Viola is not human, or Umbra (her ability to activate Witch Time comes from Cereza's memories, not really from a natural place within herself), she is and will always be Fae until the day she's dead, and she's not a perfect carbon copy of Cereza either - she has her own emotions and reactions that are wildly different from Cereza herself.
Another thing that is worth mentioning, is that one of the reasons Viola couldn't find it in herself to attack any of Cereza's family might be because she was made from the people she loved - love was the key in the equation, if the Fae had made Viola using only what Cereza hated (angels for example) chances are they would have a much more effective but volatile weapon (Viola evil counterpart maybe 👀?)
Aaaaand that's it for Viola for now, I must say I prefer the Amalgamation!Viola tho gotta love experiments that learn to be human 😍

One of my favorite parts of phase 2 (and indeed one of the few moments I resonated with IDW Prowl) was when the neutrals were coming back to Cybertron and Prowl said that he refused to let Autobots be pushed aside and overruled after they were the ones who fought for freedom for 4 million years (the exact wording escapes me atm).
And I mean, that resentment still holds true even once the colonists come on bc like. As much as it's true that Cybertron's culture is fucked up, and as funny as it can be to paint Cybertronians as a bunch of weirdos who consider trying to kill someone as a common greeting not important enough to hold a grudge over.... The colonists POV kind of pissed me off a lot of times, as did the narrative tone/implications that Cybertronians are forever warlike and doomed to die by their own hands bc it just strikes me as an extremely judgemental and unsympathetic way to deal with a huge group of people with massive war PTSD and political/social tensions that were rampant even before the war?
Like, imagine living in a society rife with bigotry and discrimination where you get locked into certain occupations and social strata based on how you were born. The political tension is so bad there's a string of assassinations of politicians and leaders. The whole planet erupts into an outright war that leads (even unintentionally) to famine and chemical/biological warfare that destroys your planet. Both sides of the war are so entrenched in their pre-war sides and resentment for each other that this war lasts 4 million years and you don't even have a home planet any more. Then your home planet gets restored and a bunch of sheltered fucks come home and go "ewww why are you so violent?? You're a bunch of freaks just go live in the wilderness so that our home can belong to The Pure People Who Weren't Stupid And Evil Enough To Be Trapped In War" and then a bunch of colonists from places that know nothing about your history go "lol you people are so weird?? 🤣🤣 I don't get why y'all are fighting can't you just like, stop??? Oh okay you people are just fucked up and evil and stupid then" ((their planets are based on colonialism where their Primes wiped out the native populations btw whereas the Autobots and OP in particular fought to save organics. But that never gets brought up as a point in their favor)) as if the damage of a lifetime of war and a society that was broken even before the war can just magically go away now that the war is over.
Prowl fucking sucks but he was basically the only person that pointed out the injustice of that.
And then from then on out most of the characters from other colonies like Caminus and wherever else are going "i fucking hate you and your conflicts" w/ people like literal-nobody Slide and various Camiens getting to just sit there lecturing Optimus about how Cybertronians are too violent for their own good and how their conflicts are stupid, with only brief sympathetic moments where the Cybertronians get to be recognized as their own ppl who deserve sympathy before going right back to being lambasted.
Like I literally struggled to enjoy the story at multiple points because there was only so much I could take of the characters I knew and loved being raked over coals constantly while barely getting to defend themselves or be defended by the narrative so like. It was just fucking depressing and a little infuriating to read exRID/OP

I'M WANT TO EAR TEG LORE
OUGH ok so. im gonna try to shorten it and it's going to sound a bit confusing because there's still The Basics of this specific world that i didn't tell but
this event was called 己 (onore/myself) and it mostly consisted in himawari trying to convince everyone she's the creator of everything (because himawari is me and. i indeed did create the world and the characters and the realm) and lycoris trying to convince the gods that black matter doesn't hurt the realm (quick context the gods of the realm always fought it thinking it's ''impure'' but all it really does is absorb the bad stuff in the realm and purify it) and they therefore need to stop fighting it (cus lycoris is primarily made of black matter although she's himawari's subconscious)
well a lot of shit happened but in the end conclusion when lycoris finally managed to face one god, who's name is glory, and telling them politely that they should stop fighting or else they're going to kill the entire realm because. lycoris is himawari's subconscious and therefore that's technically killing himawari. well obviously they don't believe it and bla bla bla they end up readying this purification shard and aimed it towards them, however in the last moment himawari was in front of lycoris trying to ''save'' them in a way (even tho she was minuscular compared to lycoris), and glory noticed. since they're not allowed to kill any human that comes from the world (even tho hima is mostly a robot but she's still ''''''their child''''' as they call her), glory decided to shatter the on-going shard in front of them and. while it didn't directly hit lycoris the shards sure did hit himawari and almost killed her
^ this is only 1 shot out of the 30 fucking shots i had to do for this event alone but yeah. that's how it shattered. that black muzzle is lycoris's noodle form
no one still knows if this ACTUALLY happened or if it happened in another dimension or it was all in himawari's mind/dreams but there was significant damage done and shards were found inside of her. this entire event lasted from may to november 1st of this year. btw. that's HOW LONG IT WAS

Trying SO hard not to give Wolf more people on their side bc they're the ultimate Depressed Bitch... I don't even know what to do about Saint yet!!! I have no idea if Osiris believes them or not! but here I go thinking about Saladad and the Young Wolf's Howl :(
In my defense, consider:
This is more than a weapon.
Forged by Lord Saladin within the hallowed halls of the Iron Temple, this sword was intended for you, and none other.
When you wield it, its burning flames represent the bright light of your valor — and the all-consuming sacrifice that you have promised to make, should you be called to it.
According to Saladin, that sword is a promise. Become what the enemies of the City fear. The only Nightmare worth fearing, as Eris put it.
At its core, the sword is an Iron Lord's oath to protect the City, no matter the personal cost.
Like... What does it mean to Saladin, to see it on their back when they pull the trigger on Lakshmi? That it was with them when they tried to kill Cayde? That they're still using it now, even as they sow the end?
Is he angered to see his next generation, the one who was supposed to carry the torch of his fallen friends, turn their back on everything he taught them?
Or maybe he knows, in some part. Does he see that they believe they've upheld their promise, even now? Does he think they're delusional?
Even worse, consider them returning it. I'm very drawn on this, though, because of what it means. Wolf giving the sword up would be an admission that they don't care, and Wolf does. Wolf cares so, so much. and they're a sentimental bitch here!!
BUT. What if Saladin found them, one day, treating the sword?
He tells them that sword is an oath, and they tell him they've kept it. He asks why they tried to kill Cayde, and they don't answer. He asks why their killed Lakshmi, and they tell him Ikora would know.
There's silence as he considers this, glaring them down. Wolf stands up, holding the sword in an almost reverie. They ask if he's here to take it back. He doesn't answer.
They set it against the wall, telling him they have more swords.
They leave.

Headcanons: Coven Verse
They came to Akali encircling from the tree canopy at an impossible speed, their taunts leading her deeper still into the Elderwood until at last she was lost. Then a voice whispered the choice right into her ear: die in these woods alone or emerge in their charge. And so she walked out of the woods... straight into the arms of the Coven.
The text above is her base Coven skin description. Based on “They came to Akali encircling from the tree canopy at an impossible speed," I figured that the "they" in question pertains to the ravens since they're the common theme in her base and prestige skins. I’ve written something in response to an ask from Han because Coven Evelynn has multiple voice lines that call someone "little dove.” In my reply, I never mentioned Akali worshipping a god, just that she has a connection with the ravens. She can feel the ravens' hunger and her weapons are her "feathers" that can siphon souls from people she kills. These souls empower her and feed the ravens.
I never said Akali worships a god but I did say in my post that she has lands she can call her own (or at least the ravens'). This is because:
I’m leaning more towards the ravens being the source of her power instead of a god.
She was let out of the woods because she joined the Coven but she's there not as an entirely willing follower or because of loyalty/belief in their cause. So, she's essentially the coven's hitman instead of an eager witch.
Lore confusing. Akali is with Nami’s Coven in the trailer BUT Nami says the Leviathan will kill other forgotten gods AND Nami’s skin description says she forsakes her Coven and sacrifices everyone to the Leviathan.
Continuing with the lore confusing part, I checked out the other Coven skins and only Syndra shares the raven theme. Her description mentions the “Horned King.” Is the Leviathan the Horned King? I checked the trailer to see if the Leviathan had horns, but it only seems that way because of the head shape instead of having actual horns.
Why ravens when the Leviathan is water-based? I also considered Akali and Syndra being followers of Morgana’s god instead, but Morgana’s skin description mentions a different name, the “Ashen Owl.”
Eventually, @agonizedembrace asked me if I already checked out Nami’s voicelines. I completely forgot her Coven skin is legendary. So, I opened up the SkinSpotlights voice video. I skipped to check if Nami had any voicelines for Akali and found out I WAS RIGHT!
I was right with Akali not worshipping anyone! Believe me when I say I was super giddy when I found out about these voicelines since these confirm my initial lore for Akali. She may be part of a Coven but she’s not a believer/follower of any of the old or forgotten gods. She only had to join a Coven so she could live and get out of the Elderwood. And Nami’s voiceline when she kills Akali completely makes sense because I said earlier that Akali wouldn’t want to be involved with someone who wants to sacrifice everyone (implying that Akali herself would eventually be part of that lot). So, Akali definitely tries to escape or betray Nami’s Coven at one point.
Evelynn
Enter: Evelynn. It's due to how Nami runs her coven that led to Han bringing up the fact that Akali and Evelynn would be enemies. However, she also mentioned that Evelynn's father is dead and that she's a demigod. Han jokingly said to come worship Eve while I was explaining my Coven Akali thoughts. But then she searched through Coven Evelynn’s voicelines and—
This is perfect because this gives Akali extra motivation to leave Nami's coven and would give more depth to Nami's kill line. Evelynn setting Akali "free" also works since the last line in my reply to Han's ask is that she went to Evelynn's lands because it's Evelynn's.
Moreover: Bird voiceline!! You know who else involves birds circling prey and feeding on people? Akali. I like the idea of Akali ending up on Evelynn's side and hanging around her. Not just as a Coven witch with a connection to ravens, but as someone who can turn into a mass of ravens, akin to the trope of vampires transforming into bats.
Lee Sin
Now, my Coven verse also involves @ionianelder. Since Akali's Coven skin was made official, Doll wanted to change up a part of Lee's Coven verse to match mine and have my Akali be her daughter. Lee Sin is able to announce prophecies but only those part of the Coven are able to decipher their true meanings. Outsiders only hear riddles, warnings, and incoherent threats. That means that Akali was unable to understand Lee Sin's words in the beginning.
But here's something interesting: Evelynn turns into a bird in her recall. Akali is also bird-themed.
With Akali not having the ability to properly communicate with Lee Sin at first, Lee Sin simply told Akali that she'd find answers: With a flock of birds with different feathers. Cryptic and gives away very little but everything would make sense once the Coven and Evelynn enter the picture.
Prestige Coven Akali
Arriving clad in a bold and sporty body suit, Akali's gala attire has us all spellbound. Subversive and on the cutting edge of fashion, she's fierce and redefines how we think of the wicked witch of the woods.
This is her official Prestige description and honestly I'm not a fan of it. Prestige Coven LeBlanc and Zyra have actual descriptions with a bit of lore involving them dying and come back in another form.
So, I'm having Akali also die :)
Nami succeeds in killing Akali, thus fulfilling the conditions for the Leviathan. Her ravens scatter, fluttering away from the scene wildly, only barely guided by the faint call of the Great Harrier in the wind. It leads and draws the ravens to a familiar soul, to Evelynn, who senses something is wrong.
Upon her body being found, Akali is then reborn with Evelynn's demigod blood. Her feathers have been stained red and glint with newfound power. Her hair turning white symbolizes the loss of a life.
