It’s just a little scrape | Joe Burrow
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: After a win against the Bills, everything is going good until a drunk fan finds his way into a place he isn’t supposed to be
Pairing: Joe burrow x first person fem reader
Words: 3962
Notes: this is different than the other fics I’ve written, but I hope you enjoy!! <3
A week later was the primetime home game against the Buffalo Bills. During the day, I had a quick photo shoot with a new clothing line here in Cincinnati, but I made sure to clear out my entire schedule for the rest of the day after that. Since it was a home game, which I was so incredibly excited about, Katie, my best friend, was coming to the game. Unlike me, she wasn’t with anyone on the team, but she loved going just as much as me. Like always, we were going to stay in Joes suite where his parents were also going to be. For the whole day, excitement ran through me. Not only did I have 100% confidence in Joe, but I had 100% confidence in the entire team, and today felt like a good day for the whole entire team. When it was finally time for Joe to leave, I sent him out of the door while admiring his all green outfit, which was my all time favorite color.
Currently, I was laying out my outfit onto our bed which consisted of a white sweater dress, a long brown trench coat, and a pair of almost knee high white boots. After I laid my outfit out, I grabbed my cute little clear purse with number 9 and Burrow on it which already held my must haves for game day, and then slipped into the bathroom. In the bathroom, I curled my hair and then put on some gold hoops. Once I was done with that, I put on my makeup and then walked out of the bathroom and to the bed where I got changed. While I changed, I got a text from Katie saying that she was on her way. I texted her back with, "I'm so excited, hurry!😆" The last game was in San Francisco and Katie and I just watched it over her house, plus before that was the bye week and we haven't gone to a game together since the Seattle game. Saying we were excited was an understatement.
We arrived at the stadium 2 hours early so we could settle in before the hundreds of people filed into the stadium. Like most home games, Katie drove me so I could drive back home with Joe when the game was over. Since we weren't in the stands where I could talk to Joe before the game, we both got settled into our seats. "I'm so excited to watch the game. Work has been stressful." Katie said while stuffing her mouth full of the chicken fingers we both got before we came up to the suite. "I know, it’s been way too long since we've watched a game together. How are the extra shifts going by the way?" I asked Katie. "Well," Katie said with a mouth full of food before she held up a finger so she could swallow the food in her mouth.
We both started laughing as she swallowed and then continued. "I'm making more money than I ever have, especially with the promotion, but I feel like I'm always on the go. I'm either at work, at the grocery store, the gym, the coffee shop, or in bed. I feel like you because I never see Jamie." Katie said. "Shit, Katie, why do you still work at the coffee shop? I even quit because I wasn't seeing Joe enough, and I don't have real job." I told Katie. "Yeah, well, you quit and you still don't see him." She said with a little scoff. Leaning towards her more, I said, "well that's because my husbands in the fucking NFL, obviously I'm not going to see him that much." I said. Katie gave me a little shrug of approval and then we laughed a little bit. "All I'm saying, is that you have the opportunities to see Jamie, you just have to take them. So, quit working at the coffee shop, pay the extra 10 dollars to have the store drop your groceries off for you, and see your damn boyfriend. If you need extra money, I'll pick up more photo shoots and give you the money." I said.
Katie sighed a little bit and then looked off into the direction of the field. "You know what, you're right, You should give me money." Katie joked. Elbowing her softly, I took a bite of my chicken and then watched as the boys went into the tunnel to get on their uniforms. "All jokes aside, you're right." Katie said. "Well obviously." I laughed with her.
The Bengals won the game 24-18. Katie and I cheered so much that by the end of the third quarter, we were already starting to get scratchy and sore throats. Although the bengals won the game, they gave us a big scare by letting the game get as close as it did. By the end of the game, my nerves were so high that Katie had to force me to unclench my fists and calm down a little. When it finally did end, we stood up and started to chant. "Who Dey! Who Dey! Who Dey think gonna beat them Bengals! Who Dey! Who Dey! Who Dey think gonna beat them bengals! Nobody!" I changed along with the whole stadium, which included Robin and Jimmy who were just as excited. "Let's fucking go!" Katie yelled. "That's how it's done!" I yelled with Katie as we stood up and celebrated the win over the Bills in the primetime game.
Once we settled down and the stadium started to clear out, I hugged a yawning Katie goodbye and then after a little bit, walked with Robin and Jimmy to the tunnel where I would meet up with Joe. Since it was already really late and they had a little drive back to Athens, they decided to just text Joe and congratulate him on the win. The three of us stopped just before the tunnel entrance and we hugged. "I'm so happy that you don't have to go home with another grumpy Joe. There's been too many losses this season." Robin said as we pulled away from our hug. "You and me both. I love him, but he sure can have an attitude." I laughed and then hugged Jimmy. "By the way, Joe wanted to remind you once again not to call him right after the game and give him a play by play of everything. I tried to tell him that you already know, but you know how he can be." I told Jimmy who shook his head with a sigh.
"That boy will be the death of me." Jimmy said with a shake of his head and a little chuckle. "You and me both." Robin said. We said our goodbyes and then I walked into the tunnel entrance by showing them my pass and then headed to the family area where the players could see their families. While I walked over there, I got a text from Joe saying that the press conference took a little longer so he just got into the shower and to just wait for him by the locker room. So, rather than going to the family section where I could just wait for Joe, I went to the locker room entrance and leaned against the wall while waiting to see Joe. I couldn't wait to see a happy Joe after a much needed win and wrap my arms around him.
While I waited, I went on my phone and scrolled through Instagram where new pictures of Joe from the game started to appear. Even seeing Joe through the screen made my cheeks flush a deep shade of red and I couldn't stop the corners of my mouth from turning up into a smile. My eyes were so focused on the pictures of him that I didn't even notice the locker room door opened up. "What are you smiling at?" I heard Joe say in front of me. Quickly taking my eyes off of my phone, I slipped the phone into my pocket and walked over to Joe. Both of us had huge smiles on our faces as we walked towards each other. When we met in the middle, I wrapped my arms around Joes back and he wrapped his around my neck, holding me closely. "It may or may not have been a picture of you walking out with Sam to do the coin flip." I said, leaning my head back to look into Joes eyes.
Joe raised an eyebrow and said, "oh yeah?" He then leaned forwards to capture my lips with his. The both of us breathed in the kiss before he pulled away, not wanting anyone to take a picture of our kiss. "Believe it or not, you in a uniform really does something to me." I laughed. Joe just laughed and then looked into my eyes deeply. "Well it's a good thing that we get to go home in a little bit." He said with that pantie dropping smile he loves to give me. Right after he said this, my face flushed red. With a little groan, I placed my forehead on joes chest, trying to hide my obvious flustered state. "If I could, I would slip into the nearest supply closet with you." I said. With a small sigh, Joe straightened more, obviously getting turned on. Before Joe could say anything else that would solidify my decision of going into a closet with him for a little quicky, the locker room door opened again.
Lifting my head from Joes chest, we both looked over to the door and watched Ja'marr and Sam walk out of it in mid conversation. Right when Ja'marr looked at Joe and then me, he ended his sentence and then walked over to Joe, reading his facial expression, and patted him on the back. "Y'know, the locker rooms empty, you might be able to slip in there for a few minutes. What's your record, like 3 minutes?" Ja'marr said, but quickly walked away from Joe before he could hit him in the arm. "Fuck you." Joe joked with a stern look on his face and looked over at Sam who just put his hands up to show that he wasn't going to make any crude remarks or add onto what Ja'marr said. The both of us released our arms from one another, but Joe kept one arm around my waist, pulling me close to his side and we exchanged quick I love you's as we walked.
The four of us walked together to the family section where the boys could get some food and Sam could meet up with Jessica. "Y'know, she blocked me on Instagram in college because she saw that I was following you. She thought I was her competition." I said to Sam while we talked about Jessica and where she was during the game since I couldn't see her and neither could Morgan, Holly, or Tianna. "I know, she told me she was worried that we were getting together behind her back. It took a lot of convincing for her to fully believe that you were loyal to Joe." Sam said. While we talked, I heard some scuffled footsteps behind us and turned my head slightly to look at who was making the noise.
As I turned my head, I saw a man that I've never seen before. He looked to be in his mid 30's and based off of the way he was walking and the way his eyes were slow to move, I knew he was drunk. I took another look at the man, careful not to make it too obvious, and watched as the man held up his phone out to us. By now, the boys knew someone was behind us, but thought nothing of it. "Joe burrow." the man said. Joe, realizing the man was probably a fan, kept on walking. "Joe! Hey wait up! Can I get a picture with you." The man said again, followed by saying Joes name continuously to try and get his attention.
"Who is that?" I asked Joe. "Just keep walking. once we pass security up here they'll deal with him. He's not even supposed to be in here." Joe said and pulled me closer to him, not wanting any of us to pay any attention to him. "Do I have to fuck your wife to get your attention?" The man said with a small and weird chuckle, slurring his words like crazy. "What the hell." Ja'marr said and turned around. Joe clenched his jaw and turned around with Ja'marr. "What the fuck did you just say to me?" Joe asked in an angry tone, stepping closer to the man. "Hey, security!" Sam yelled, wanting security to step in before Joe did something. "There he is! Can I get a picture with you real quick?” The man asked and stepped forwards. Once closer, he began looking me up and down and said, “and maybe take her for a spin afterwards.” A shiver ran down my spine as I scowled at him in disgust.
"Let's go Joe, security is coming." I said and walked in front of Joe to try and stop him from doing something stupid. In times like these, Joe was a hot head. The man was known as 'Joe Cool' on and off the football field until it involved the people he loved. "No, no, say that again to my fucking face." Joe said. "Just back the fuck up man!" Ja'marr said to the man, standing by Joes side. No matter what, Ja’marr was always by Joe’s side, especially when it came to disgusting people like this man. "C’mon, Can I just get a pic real quick?” The man said and held up his phone and got both him and Joe in frame, except I was in it also. The man, not liking that I was in it, slipped the phone into his pocket and then put both of his hands on my shoulders. Since I was facing Joe in an attempt to keep him moving, I could see a few security guards coming up to us that Sam got. All of a sudden, I felt his arms on my shoulders and then he spun me around slightly, pushed me to the side so I wasn't in the way. One second I had both of my feet planted on the ground, and the next I lost my footing because of my big boots and fell to the ground.
Not expecting to fall so abruptly, I let out a faint scream as my knees skidded across the concrete. From above me, multiple shouts and yells echoed through the walls of the tunnel. There was a lot of commotion for about 5 seconds and then I felt 2 firm hands go onto my sides from behind me. Quickly, I was lifted off of the ground and placed back on my feet. I quickly turned around and made eye contact with Joe whose eyes were filled with anger. "I'm fine, I'm fine." I said quickly and then looked to Ja'marr who was going off on the man who touched me and also the security guards who let the man slip past them. Once joe could tell by my expression that I was okay, he turned around and took a step closer to the man who was being put in handcuffs my a police officer who came rushing over after seeing the commotion.
"Don't you ever lay your fucking hands on my wife again!" Joe yelled and then added in, “you hear me!” I looked to the man quickly and then at Sam who walked over to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "Let's go over here." He told me and then guided me over to the side and away from everyone else. “Holy shit." I said, flustered from everything that just happened. It all happened so quickly. "Are you okay?" He asked me as we both turned around. Joe and Ja'marr were currently going off and raising their voices at the security guards who let the man get into the tunnel. The man was not wearing a pass and was not a family member of any of the players, so how he was able to get into the tunnel was beyond any of us. "I'm fine, I just fucking scraped the hell out of my knee's though." I let out a little exasperated laugh.
We both looked down at my knees. One was bloody just around the scrape, and the other one had a bigger wound on it which was currently dripping blood down my leg and onto my new boots. "Oh shit, that's not just a scrape." He said while laughing slightly because of the way I addressed the blood on my knees. “Oh no, my boots.” I said with a frown. After a few more minutes, more people gathered around the scene including a few more police officers, Zac Taylor, Jessica who came and found Sam and was currently having him fill her in a few feet away from me, and then Logan Wilson and Morgan who didn't leave yet. "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" Morgan asked when she got over to me, looking down at my scraped up knees.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I promise, it's just a little scrape." I said. Morgan and Logan stood by my side as we all watched what was going on in front of us. "How did he even get back here?" Joe said loudly. Zac stepped in between Joe and one of the police officers who was currently taking the man to his car outside. Joe and zac started talking. "What even happened? Who was that?" Morgan asked me. Logan stepped closer, wanting to hear what happened also. "A random guy from behind us kept trying to get Joe to take a picture with him. He was obviously drunk and whatever so we just planned on ignoring him until we got closer to the security guard so he could deal with him. When Joe wouldn't listen, the man literally said 'Do I have to fuck your wife to get your attention'." I said.
"That’s disgusting." Morgan said and put a hand over her mouth slightly, a sour look on her face. Logan's face scrunched up in disbelief and disgust and then looked over to the scene while still listening. I explained the rest of what happened to them and then the police asked to clear the area and informed Joe that the man was being taken to jail. As the area began to empty and everything died down, Joe walked over to me, but didn't notice my knees yet because of the chaos that just occurred. "I'm so sorry, are you okay?" Joe asked me his eyes darting from my right eye and left eye and cupped the sides of my face gently in his hands. His breathing was fast and ragged, obviously shaken up from what just happened too. Bringing my hands up, I grabbed onto Joes wrists that were on either side of my face and took a deep breath. "I'm fine, I promise you. I wouldn’t have even fallen if I wasn’t wearing these big boots. It was a small fall, that it." I said.
I looked deeply into Joes eyes with a small and reassuring smile, and shook my head to show that I was indeed fine. "Are you 100% sure? He shouldn’t have even put his hands on you." Joe said. "My knees along with my ego are a little damaged, but that's it, I promise." I said. Joe couldn't help but let out a small laugh at what I said before realizing that I said my knees. Quickly, Joe glanced down at my knees to see blood dripping down my right leg. "Shit, I didn’t know you were bleeding." He said quickly and then removed his hands from the sides of my face.
Joe kept his eyes on my knees for a few seconds before turning around a little. "Joe it's fine, I'll just wipe it off." I said and placed my hand gently on his arm, trying to pull him around towards me.  Joe looked at me quickly and said, "if the medical staff is still here then you're getting your knees cleaned up." The face he gave me told me that he wanted me to go along with him and not try to change his mind. Once again, he turned around and called Zac's name before he got too far down the tunnel. "Yeah?" Zac asked in a concerned tone. "Is the medical staff still here? I just want to get her knees cleaned up real quick and make sure she doesn't need stitches or anything." Joe said, taking a step forwards.
"I don't need stitches, it's just a little scrape." I said with a small laugh and walked by his side as Zac started to walk our way. "Well how am I supposed to know? All I see is blood dripping down your leg." Joe said, looking down at my knees again. "Oh man," Zac looked down at my knees, "Yeah, there are a few still in the locker room. Just come with me." He said. We all headed towards the locker room. I was in between Zac and Joe who was still a little fidgety and on edge after what just happened. Even though I was the one that got pushed down and hurt, Joe seems to be affected more by it. The way he keeps looking down at me and flashes those 'I'm sorry' eyes at me makes me want to pull him to the side and make him understand that I'm okay.
We finally got to the locker room and Zac found us someone who had their gear out still. So it went quicker, we just went over to Joes locker where I could sit down and the medic could clean up my knees and throw bandaids on them if needed. Zac said goodbye to the both of us and once again apologized for what happened. As soon as I saw Joes locker, my mouth almost dropped open. There were shoes, clothes, hats, some snacks, and many more random and weird things thrown around Joes locker room. It looked like a tornado came to Cincinnati and only hit Joes locker; plus a few other players lockers. "Do you ever clean? My goodness look at how gross it is." I laughed as I sat myself down on the fold out chair in front of Joes locker. Looking offended, Joe just chuckled and then kicked a few of the shoes that were in the open closer to his locker.
"The hate is really not necessary. Plus, it's not that bad." Joe said with a small shrug. Furrowing my brows, I looked around at Joes locker while the medic who kneeled down in front of me began to grab things out of his kit. Looking back up to Joe, he just started laughing at my reaction. "You really think this isn't "that bad?"" I asked, using air quotations to really emphasize what Joe just said to me about his terrible locker. "Okay, okay, it's pretty bad." We both started to laugh together and then the medic looked up at me, so I gave him my attention. "I'm just going to clean off some of this blood and then the actual wound itself. Once I get to the wound, it might sting a little bit." He said to me. "Alright, go for it." I said with a little laugh while Joe grabbed onto my hand and gave it a little squeeze.

Bring Me Home Arc 2 Part 15
Happy WIP Wednesday! (Ignores the fact that it's almost an hour into Thursday my time.)
Story Summary: Tim and Danny are both neglected by parents who care more about their work than their families. They deal with this by spending too much time online and find each other playing MMORPGs. They keep up their friendship as Tim becomes Robin and Danny becomes Phantom and don't bother keeping secrets from each other.

Word Count: 1.2k

“Shit. Okay. I’ll fly us back. Bye Tim, everyone!” Danny picked up Tucker and flew away, turning invisible before he was more than a few yards away.
Tim sighed as he watched them. “Invisibility would be such a useful power. Paired with intangibility? Do you have any idea how much that’d help us out in Gotham?”
“Yeah, yeah,” said Cassie dismissively. “So what’re we doing for the next few hours?”
Wulf cocked his head and looked at them. Tim waved to him. “Let’s see what we can find out from our maybe-friend here.” Then, to Wulf, he asked, “Walker?”
Wulf’s bemused expression turned angry and he snarled.
Tim laughed and gave a thumbs up to show his agreement. “I’ve”—he pointed at himself—“heard”—this time his ears—“bad”—he scowled—“things about Walker.”
“Malbono,” said Wulf.
Tim grinned. “Very malbono,” he agreed.
Wulf bared his teeth, but this time, Tim thought it was more of a grin.
Cassie sat down on the ground. “So, Wulf and Danny are both targeted by this Walker ghost. How do we keep them safe?”
Tim shrugged. To Wulf, he said, “We”—pointing to him and his friends—“keep you”— pointing to Wulf—“safe. Secure. Protect.” Hopefully at least one of those words would be similar enough to the Esperanto word for the same concept.
“Protekti,” agreed Wulf.
Bart pointed at himself. “One.” Then to Conner, “Two.” Tim was called three and Cassie four. With a stick, he drew a crude figure of Danny’s ghost form, Sam, and Tucker, counting each one to seven. Then he pointed to Wulf. “Eight.” He drew the number in the dirt to reinforce the count. “Walker, how many?” He lifted his hands in an I-don’t-know gesture.
Wulf started with his hands close and slowly spread them wide. “Multaj.”
Tim’s stomach sank at the answer. They’d faced bad odds before, but it was never good.
“What does Walker want?” asked Conner.
But Wulf only looked at him in confusion and none of them could figure out how to ask that in charades.
Cassie grabbed another stick and began drawing. She started with a line and on one side, she had humanoid ghosts with tails instead of legs, on the other side she had stick figures. Then she drew arrows from the ghost side to the human side. Under the arrows, she drew question marks. Looking up, she asked, “How?”
Wulf bared his teeth again and pointed at himself. “Wulf.” He flexed his hand showing off his claws. Conner tensed at the action, but Wulf ignored him. Instead, he drew his hand down the air. Tim felt like he could hear tearing, but it was as if the sound originated in his brain, bypassing his ears entirely.
In the path of Wulf’s claws was a glowing green portal. Another gesture and it disappeared.
Tim stared in wonder. “So, if you’re here and with us, Walker can’t send any more ghosts to Amity. That makes things so much easier.”
Wulf only grinned at him.
Bart poked Tim’s side. “Think he needs to eat?”
Tim laughed. “You’re just hungry yourself. He’s already dead.”
Bart shrugged. “We haven’t had lunch yet.”
“I’m with Bart,” said Cassie. “I’m getting hungry. And it’d be rude to not offer anything to him. Bart, get us stuff from that burger place Danny took us to. And grab extra in case our new friend wants anything.”
Tim rummaged around in his bag and pulled out two hundred dollars cash. All three of his friends had metabolisms to match their powers. “Here, get as much as you want. Simple cheeseburger and fries for me.”
The others gave their orders and Bart was off.
The rest of the afternoon was spent mostly hanging out in the woods with Wulf. When Bart had offered him a burger, he’d sniffed it before pulling a face and giving it back. Bart just shrugged and ate it himself.
“Shouldn’t you be doing homework?” Conner asked Tim after a while. They’d run through most of the questions they could ask via pantomime and Bart and Cassie had taken to pointing at things and asking what they were called in Esperanto. “Bruce won’t be happy with you.”
Tim sighed. “No, you’re right. If we can’t research in the library, I should do something productive.”
Though it only took an hour and a half of going through his schoolwork for Tim to want to tear his own hair out. He slammed his book shut, making four pairs of eyes instantly fly to him.
“I can’t do this anymore! I can’t wait until I don’t need to be in school anymore. Who wants to spar with me?”
Conner stepped forward. “I’ll take the first round.”
“Great. I’m going to use the staff Danny gave me. I want to practice with it more.”
Wulf watched them as they sparred. Tim held his own against Conner, though ultimately the half-Kryptonian won. Cassie beat him next.
Bart sat the spars out because he won every time if allowed to fight. But he made a very good referee.
Tim and Cassie were having their third match of the day when Danny, Sam, and Tucker rejoined them.
Tim was breathing hard as he blocked another blow from Cassie with his staff. “Hey, Danny,” he said. Then he did a twist he’d learned from Dick coupled with a move he’d learned from Lady Shiva and Cassie was flat on her back. Tim grinned as he offered her a hand to help her up. “Looks like I win the last match of the day.”
“Well I won our two previous ones,” retorted Cassie as she took his hand.
Sam let out a whistle. “Damn, that was impressive. Where’d you learn to fight like that?”
“B sent me to Europe for several months to train from a bunch of different masters when I forced him to take me on.”
“Must’ve been good teachers if you can hold your own as a regular human against metas.”
Tim nodded and moved so he could nudge Danny. “I’ve been trying to convince this one to join me for a few weekends so I could get him some training, but he’d rather rely on luck and his powers.”
Danny rolled his eyes and scoffed. “You know that’s not what it is. I’m just afraid that if I leave any more often than I have to, something will happen!”
“Sure, sure,” said Tim. “But now that your parents know me and I can see just how bad it is, I’ll be coming to you to train you. No getting out of it now!”
Danny just groaned.
Tucker grinned. “Let me know when you come, and I’ll fit your training sessions into Danny’s schedule.”
“Absolutely.”
Sam pointed her thumb at Wulf. “So, how’re we gonna sneak a giant ghost through town and into my house anyway?”
Danny shrugged. “I figured he and I could fly there invisibly. I’ll drop my invisibility and enter through the door so your parents or grandma see me enter, and Wulf will drop it once we’re in private.”
“Fine, fine. Come on, then.”

In the show, there was a time skip between when Danny caught up with Wulf during his school lunch period and the four (Danny, Sam, Tucker, Wulf) all cramming into Tucker's bedroom that night. So I have no idea if Danny returned to school or not. And if he did, what did Wulf do all afternoon and evening? How did they meet up again? Or am I right and Danny skipped?
Good thing we have other people here to help out this time and it doesn't matter!

Competition (Xavier Thorpe x Fem Reader)
Pairing: Xavier Thorpe x Fem reader
Warnings: Cursing. Reader is Tyler's cousin. Is he a good cousin? No clue.
Requested: No. I am still feeling the Christmas Blues myself. Expect your regular smut in a few days, starting with Ajax
A/N: So, I got this idea after rewatching episode three. Ajax mentions Xavier is competitive. I think he would be the kind to take over the top flirting as a challenge. Also I refuse to only write smut for this man, I refuse.
Tumblr media
“So,” Tyler said, leaning against the counter. “Got any hot dates lining up to the Rave’n?” He smirked.
“No.” You busied yourself with washing some cups. You sucked at being a baristas, but nepotism had its perks. Tyler had bullied his employer to get them to hire you, arguing he needed the extra hands. “Do you really want to go?” You asked him, eyeing his smile.
“Yeah, I just… want to see Wednesday, you know?” Tyler got a dopey expression in his face. Then, he gave you a pointed look.
“You are not taking me, it would be so lame to show up with your cousin to the dance, girlie would never take you seriously.” You didn’t know what Tyler saw in the dark-haired menace of a girl, sure, she was cute but treated him like shit. But to each their own. You saw a client enter, and put your best customer service smile. “What can I get you, handsome?”
You heard Tyler splutter, but ignored him. You flirted with customers all the time, made for better tips. Men were so easy. They really thought the waitress was into them, even if she was twenty years younger. But this boy wasn’t much older than you, and he was handsome, you weren’t making this shit up. He had light colored hair pulled back into a bun and big emerald eyes.
“I… You are new.” He said, seemingly taken off guard. “Three large lattes, to go, please.”
“So polite!” You said to him, gesturing to Tyler to shut his mouth and get started with the drinks. “Yes, I am new, must be a regular, then? I bet you see Tyler’s pretty face a lot. Your total would be twelve dollars.” Tyler made a shocked noise, almost choking on his own spit, and the guy snickered.
“Oh, I find yours much nicer to look at.” The boy drawled, pulling a twenty out of his pocket and passing it to you. “Is Galpin over there your boyfriend?” He asked.
“Chatty. I like it.” You said, giving the change back to him with a smile. “No, Ty over there is my cousin.”
“You definitely have the better genes, then.” The boy smirked, and put the change in your tip jar. You smiled even wider. He went to the counter to get his drinks, and just before he could walk out on you, you said.
“Can I get your name, viking?” You smirked when he almost dropped his lattes. Oh, you so loved to flirt, especially when the heavy tippers. You figured he deserved some niceties after tipping more than fifty percent.
“It’s Xavier. Xavier Thorpe.” Xavier gave you one last smile and walked out in the cold.
“Did you really had to flirt with fucking Xavier Thorpe?” Tyler asked.
“I take it you aren't his biggest fan?” You took out the eight dollars from the tip jar and waved it on his face. “You know, I flirt with customers all the time.”
“You could say that. I kicked his ass and got send to boot camp. He hates me and seeing him makes me…” Tyler explained, blushing a little.
“Yeah, I get it. But you do it too! You and this creepy redheaded lady, she totally wants in your pants…” You didn't like it one bit. She wanted something with your cousin, that was clear.
“Oh, that’s different. Besides, I got a vibe from you and Thorpe….”
“It sure is.” You rolled your eyes. “And it was so not a vibe.” You said, but you had felt it too. There had been a spark with the guy, something underneath the flirting.
“Yeah, you might think you can charm anyone’s pants off, but no one drops eight dollars in tips on a twelve dollar order if he isn’t into the pretty cashier.” Tyler rolled his eyes.
“Whatever.” You said to him, seeing the door open and pasting another smile on your face. “Welcome to the Weathervane, what can I get for the lovely couple?”
You saw Xavier again the next week. This time, you were doing tables, and he was sitting in a booth with another guy.
“Hey, stranger.” You said to him, placing a menu in front of him. Then, turning to the guy, you said. “Hello there, hot stuff. Seriously, what do they give to you at Nevermore? Are you all like out of a movie ?” The guy blushed, and you smiled, placing another menu down.
“Hello, gorgeous.” Xavier answered, with his own flirty smile. “I’ll give you a call when we are ready.”
“My name is Y/N.” You winked at him. He was clearly enjoying the chase, you could tell. “Just so you know what name you will be screaming after.” You watched out for his reaction, worried you had gone a bit too far.
“Oh my god.” The other guy muttered, blush steadily growing.
Xavier laughed. “I like you already. I will out flirt you, you know?”
“Oh, I'd like to see you try.” You narrowed your eyes at him.
“You are on, pretty girl.” He leaned back on the booth, posture open in a confident sprawl.  You walked away, making sure to sway your hips just so. The Weathervane uniform didn't do you many favors, but you had enough attitude to make up for it.
“Oh my god, Xavier, you didn’t bring me here just to flirt with the waitress!” You heard the other guy say. You had to hide your smirk.
When they called you, you walked back to their table, ignoring Tyler’s disapproving looks. The other guy was glancing at him worriedly.
“Oh, ignore my cousin.” You pulled out pen and paper. “Ty is the overprotective sort. But I don't need protection!” You said the last part a little louder.
“I don’t know about that.” Xavier smiled mischievously. “Pretty thing like you? Someone might want to steal you away.”
“Is it stealing if I go willing?” You winked. The poor guy at the table with him looked about to start smashing his head repeatedly in the table. “Anyway, what do you boys want?”
“Umm, a croissant would be good, and maybe a latte?” The guy asked you, blush still on his face.
“A piece of chocolate cake for me and an espresso. “ Xavier said.
“Got a bit of a sweet tooth?” You asked him, winking.
“I like sweet things.” Xavier gave you a look that was anything but innocent.
“Good.” You said, a faint blush appearing on your face. “I’ll be right back.”
You made up your mind when placing their order. You liked Xavier, he was handsome and fun to flirt with. He seemed to have a very sharp and quick mind, so when you got them the check, you slid it towards Xavier. Your number was scribbled on the bottom corner.
You hadn't even made your way back to the counter when your phone pinged.
Unknown: Is this your way of admitting defeat?
You: Defeat? On what?
Unknown: I out flirted you ;)
You: Hahaha, no. You poor thing, I wasn't aware this was a competition, but now that I do, prepare for war.
And so, war started. You woke up every day to cheesy pickup lines, and went to bed with compliments. So did Xavier because you weren’t giving up. Your conversations started getting more intimate, the flirting more serious.
“Hi there, gorgeous!” You said to him, on Outreach day. “Your usual?”
“I’m actually here as a volunteer.” Xavier answered. You couldn’t help but smile. Oh, you were going to have such fun.
“Just my fucking luck.” Tyler muttered, sliding a uniform towards him. “I knew we were getting a boy, but this?”
While Xavier got changed, Tyler turned to you.
“He’s going to be in restocking and cleaning duties and you on the tables.” He warned you. “I don’t want him using you to get his revenge.”
“Not everything in this town revolves around you, you know?” You rolled your eyes.
“I just don’t want you to get hurt. You might not know it, but he was dating the most popular girl at his school. He is that kind of crowd. I was too, and I was an asshole.” Tyler brushed your hair back from your face. He had a point. Tyler had been one of the most popular guys at his school, before… before your aunt… And after, before being sent off. Homecoming King, star quarterback…
You remembered the way he was with girls too, toying around without a care for their feelings. And you didn’t know Xavier really well, but you were falling for him. Pretty boys like that, they had a way of breaking girls' hearts, especially if their parents were rich enough to press charges against the sheriff's son and make them stick.
You went back to the tables, not saying anything when Xavier got sent to the back. You didn’t go in there in the whole day, avoiding him.
When Wednesday came in, Xavier took advantage of the situation, coming out from the backroom.
“Hey. “ He said, leaning into the counter next to you. “Everything alright?”
“Just, Ty got in my head. He doesn’t want me near you. Thinks you are getting your revenge.”  Xavier's face flashed through a series of emotions. Surprise, anger, hatred, sadness, only to settle back into a mask.
“What do you think?” Xavier asked, expression eerily calm.
“I think you aren’t but if this is just a competition to you…” You started, turning to face him. You had the right to stop this whole game, because you were going to get hurt if you didn’t.
“I was going to ask you out today.” Xavier shaked his head, watching Tyler rush behind Wednesday. That made something flutter in your stomach. It wasn’t a game to him, you suddenly realized. “Maybe I was wrong about you. Maybe I was a game to you.” There was a flash of something in his eyes… Betrayal. That was it. He took off his apron, and started to walk away. You grabbed his wrist.
“Xavier.” You said, and his pretty eyes looked like crushed emeralds. “My cousin is an asshole and I am sorry I believed him. Especially knowing how he gets.”
“I don’t know if we can…” Xavier started, but there was a look of hope in his eyes. You did what you did best: You jumped, even if you were scared. You wouldn’t lose him that easily, over a misunderstanding.
“Take me to the Rave’n?” You asked him. “As a date. And I am not teasing. Nor flirting. I want to get to know you better. Because I might be falling in love with you.”
“Alright.” Xavier said, pulling you into his arms. “Alright.”

A Memory Lives On
Simon "Ghost" Riley x Reader One-Shot
Word Count: 1.7K Warnings: Sad...?
Author's Note: I kinda forgot Simon's entire family was murked on Christmas Eve so...here's sad and kind of happy -Thorne
**********************************************************************
Spades always has a ridiculous amount of money. Everyone is at an understanding that it’s from her job as an international assassin, but they still can’t help but wonder how there just seems to be a never-ending flow of funds. That being said, they’ve never exactly questioned the extra supplies and protype weapons that mysteriously appear in the base for their whims. And the gifts she gives are stellar too.
Last year on Gaz’s birthday she bought two thousand dollars’ worth of Lego sets of the Death Star and the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. Gaz cried. He literally opened the wrapping paper and cried for a solid five minutes because he had been so happy.
Another year she gave Soap a week’s vacation for his birthday, a full week rented at Blair Castle in Highland Perthshire. The entire castle to himself, full service from the best cooks and servants’ money could buy. Soap came back more Scot than he’d ever been.
One birthday, she’d given Price six boxes of rare cigars, three boxes for each brand of Royal Danish Cigars and Arturo Fuentes Opus X. Everyone had to admit that they’d never seen the Old Man so damned relaxed while smoking a cigar whilst reclining in a velvet chair with a bourbon in his hand.
And yet, for Ghost, she never gave him gifts. But then again, he never celebrated his birthdays to begin with, so there wasn’t ever a need. Ghost didn’t do parties like the others did. Didn’t want cake and beer and junk food and to relax. Ghost worked on his birthdays. It wasn’t a special day to him. It was just another Tuesday or Friday. Still though, he respected Spades for not spending lavish amounts of money on him like she did the others. It wasn’t worth it; he wasn’t worth it.
It does surprise him however, to see her at his door when he opens it at six, already awake before then, but he’d finished paperwork in the meantime.
She smiles calmly, eyes a telling tale she has something planned. “Good morning, Simon,” she greets. “I do believe a Happy Birthday is in order for our resident phantom.”
He grunts in response and waits for her to move—she doesn’t.
“Price has already cleared us for leave today and I’ve something for you. Would you mind accompanying me?”
Now he’s curious, suspicious, but more so curious. “I don’t have a choice, do I?”
“You always do, Simon,” she replies with a tut. “But I would enjoy your presence if you came along. It is a gift for you.”
Ghost lets out a sigh, but motions for her to lead and she does, to the garage where he climbs in the SUV with her and allows her to take him. “Where are we going?” he asks, but the signs on the road are familiar enough that he already knows.
“Manchester. There’s something waiting for us.”
It’s all she says, and the rest of the ride is filled with silence until they pull into the parking lot of The University of Manchester and begin walking across campus.
“Please don’t tell me I’m attending a college class,” he mutters, and she lets out a laugh.
“Oh, indeed we are. A course on morals and how ambiguous they can be during war.” She gives him a look and gestures for him to follow.
There’s a woman standing there outside the doors, and she smiles as the two approach. “Miss Christensen it’s so wonderful to see you.”
Christensen, Spades fake surname she uses, he recognizes.
“It’s wonderful to see you, Mary.” She introduces Ghost. “This is a friend of mine, he’s accompanying me today. His name is Michael.”
Ghost’s lip curls in disgust at the name but he shakes her hand and allows them to lead, wondering what on earth is at the university for him.
Mary leads them into an office, and they sit across from one another; he feels awkward in the confined room, but relaxes as Spades’ hand rests on his forearm. “So,” she starts, “To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit, Miss Christensen?”
Spades smiles. “Michael and I were both intrigued on perhaps obtaining more degrees. We came to check out the potential majors and more importantly, the scholarships we could apply for.”
“Oh yes!” Mary chirps and pulls out a folder that Ghost wonders if she has pre-made for visits like these. “We have quite a few. Old ones that have been around for years, and our newest ones that have been in circulation for the last few years.”
“I heard you had a particular new one that showed up. Would you explain that one?”
“Ah, yes, our newer scholarship started by a rather mysterious sponsor.” She pulls out a packet. “The Joseph Riley Foundation.”
Ghost all but freezes at the mention of a name he hasn’t heard in years.
“Our sponsor created the foundation in memory of a young boy who was sadly killed many years ago. His name was Joseph Riley. Grew up right here in Manchester. From what our sponsor told us, he loved jets and wanted to fly one in the army.” She smiles, but it’s full of sadness. “It’s unfortunate he never got to experience it. Still though, his memory lives on here.” She hands the packet to them, and Spades simply gives it to Ghost to look over. “This scholarship works hand in hand with the British Special Air Services, or SAS, and gives students the opportunity to have a job in the SAS when they graduate. As long as they meet the required terms, they join as an officer with a bonus if they graduate above a three grade point average.”
“Specifically, what does the scholarship provide? Is it entitled to specific degree?”
“Indeed. Aviation degrees, specifically those in aviation engineering and maintenance, aeronautical science, and physics.” She seems rather pleased with herself that she knows so much. “Our sponsor supplies endless funds and expertise along with it for this scholarship, it’s perhaps become one of our most coveted scholarships simply because it’s extremely beneficial to the education. Most of our students in those majors have this.”
Spades is content to listen as she rattles on about it, but Ghost is still stuck on the pages of the history of the scholarship, and a photo of a small boy with a face that looks too familiar.
***
By the time the entire tour is done, Ghost is as mentally drained as Spades looks and she bids farewell to Mary as she escorts the two to their vehicle and waves them goodbye as they pull out of the parking lot.
Spades says nothing, content to stay in silence, but Ghost feels like he has to say something, even if he isn’t even sure what to say.
“Why.”
A snort escapes her. “Because typical birthday gifts aren’t your cup of tea.”
“I haven’t thought about Joey in years,” he murmurs, staring out the window. “I can’t bear to.”
“Yes, I imagine it’s not a pleasant memory…the end, at least. He was just a babe, wasn’t he?”
“Five,” Ghost says quietly. “He…had just turned five.”
She sighs deeply but doesn’t offer Ghost the pitied, “Such a horrid shame,” he’s heard before.
“You come here every year on my birthday?”
“Mhm,” she responds. “I visit the science building and interview the students who’ve obtained the scholarship. Make sure it’s being put to good use. And then I cash a very generous multi-million-dollar check to the school for the foundation. Keeps it thriving and sought after.”
Ghost has never kept the memory of his family alive. It died with him that Christmas Eve as the only surviving Riley. But something aches deep in his chest as he imagines his nephew fresh out of basic, ready to travel and be a pilot for the jets he so loved playing with as a babe. He swallows thickly and looks out the window as Manchester fades away. “Thank you, Spades.”
“Happy Birthday, Simon,” she replies instead and turns on the radio, a catchy pop song drowning out the ache in his chest. “I do have one more gift, if you’ll let me spoil you a little.”
Ghost lets out a groan, already drained far too emotionally to do this again. “You know I don’t do gifts.”
“Hush,” she tuts with a disapproving click of her tongue and commands, “Reach behind your seat.”
He does as she says and reaches back and down, grasping what feels like a box; Ghost pulls it to his lap and stares at it. “What is it?”
“Well, perhaps if you open it?”
He ignores the sarcastic jab and carefully removes the tape around the box and opens it. Inside is a smaller box, about twelve inches and he pulls it out, tosses the first box into the backseat, and opens the second. His eyes widen as he stares at the blade resting in the velvet.
“…Wow…” he manages to mutter, and she smirks at the wheel.
“Pretty, isn’t it?”
“Indeed, she’s lovely,” he says, taking the knife out to admire it.
“She’s one of a kind too. Made by an old Blackfeet man in the mountains of Montana. One of the best blades men for diamond knives there is.” She reaches over and touches the hilt. “It’s made from a buffalo and carved with protection symbols.”
Ghost twists the knife in his grip, handling it like any other. “It’s just for show, isn’t it?”
“Oh no, sweetheart,” she says. “That knife is one hundred percent battle ready.” Her expression changes. “I had thought about an obsidian blade. Wanted to make a joke about having a knife as black as your heart, but then I figured why waste it when I can get you a knife I know you’ll use. Hence, the diamond knife.”
“It’s really made of diamonds?”
“Indeed. One of the strongest knives you’ll ever find on the face of this earth. It’ll make for quick work of jugulars and aortas.”
Ghost is seemingly satisfied as he stows the knife in the hide sheath and tucks it into his jacket; and she can feel the smirk he has on his face, knowing he’s itching to use it.
“Happy Birthday, Ghost.”

Come On Darling
Tumblr media
Part one has gotten a lot of attention and all the comments were really motivating so have a part two. Idk how good it is, i wrote this in the same general time it took me to write part one so hopefully it's decent.
Part One
"Hello, welcome to Roselight! How may I help you today?" The girl working there didn't even stutter when she saw Noah. She must be used to it in such an expensive shop like this one.
"I need a new tailored suit, she needs a full closet." You could almost see the dollar signs adding up behind her eyes.
"Of course! I'll have the tailors get prepared. As for her what are you thinking about for full closet? Different styles? All dressy? Casual? Sexy?" She didn't even look at you, just paying attention. While she and Noah were talking, you looked around the store. Eyes stopping on one of the other employees smiled at you. She was dressed down a little more than all the others, still in all designer. She seemed more normal then high class like everyone else working.
"Well, then are you ready to start shopping?" She was looking at you expectantly.
"No." Noah's arm you were told to hold onto tightened. His hand resting on yours. Not a threat a warning. "I was hoping I could work with her." You motioned to the employee you had seen earlier. Noah's arm relaxed.
"Unfortunately, she's not a shopper. She just helps stock and bag items."
"She'll be a shopper today then." Noah ordered. She finally started getting nervous.
"A manager has to sign off on i-"
"Then get a manager." Noah interrupted. "She wants to work with her, and we don't want to stand her arguing." A hurried, "I'll get one" was thrown over her shoulder as she retreated to the back. Remerging a minute later, a sharply dressed man following her.
"Hello, I'm Marcus, one of the managers. What can I do for you today?"
"She needs a new wardrobe and would like her to help." Noah motioned to the girl. Marcus glanced over at the girl, who looked like she was starting to get a little nervous with the attention she was getting for a reason she wasn't aware of. Marcus glanced at you next, understanding flashed through his eyes.
"Ah, of course. I'll go inform her of your request and as long as she agrees to it, I'll sign off on it."
"No i-"
"That would be great!" You interrupted Noah. You didn't want to pressure her into having to deal with Noah. Marcus came back a few minutes later, the girl following behind him.
"This is Jackie, she's agreed to help you and I've signed off her helping." His gaze was directed at directly at you. "All commissions will go to her for this sale." Noah's posture changed, considering Jackie's shift, it wasn't good.
"Thank you, that was my next question." Once again Noah relaxed. He had to be overly stressed because that could not be normal.
"I'll leave Jackie with you, let me know if there's anything I can help with." Marcus excused himself. Noah gave the same instructions he gave Caroline and Jackie wrote a few things down in a small notebook.
"Ok, whole new closet?" Jackie looked at you. "You've told me. I'm asking Y/n now." Jackie interrupted Noah when he tried to tell her again. She turned back to you. You nodded. "All styles?" Another nod. "No budget?"
"Budget." Noah immediately started protesting. Jackie waited until they stopped.
"Alright, we can easily get everything you need and any extra you want with 1 Million. So we'll set that as a tentative budget. Budget for you, tentative for the no budget peanut gallery." You were soon whisked away to a small room to get measured. With that out of the way, you were lead to a room full of overpriced clothes and accessories.
Anything you looked at twice or seemed interested in was added to a growing pile of try ons. Once you had ten full outfits, try ons started. Jackie was exactly what you wanted. If it looked good, she made sure you knew it. If it didn't look good, she figured out why. Certain styles were completely removed from the cart, some colors were pulled out too. She didn't try to get you to like the most expensive styles, or the big trends, her focus was solely on what you liked and what looked good on you. Something you were very grateful for.
Four hours of shopping later, and you were lead out to the main room where you had come in. Noah joined you and paid for the large amount of clothing you had liked enough to leave with.
Next you were taken to a shoe store. This time you had a name Jackie had given you. Another sign off and bags left with Noah, you got to work looking for shoes.
An hour and a half and 6 pair of shoes later, you were taken to a makeup store. Another name and sign off, more bags left with Noah and the process started all over again.
Three hours later, Noah paid and you left the outlet and went back to the hotel. Food was dropped off at the room and Noah inhaled his before changing and running out the door for a meeting away from the hotel. A quick "Here's my card, Don't leave the hotel or there will be problems." was thrown over his shoulder before the door was closed.
You started putting your things away, quickly realizing there wasn't enough room for all your new things and Noah's in the small closet in the room. So you made a call to the front desk and a half hour later a clothing rack with a few shelves at the bottom was delivered to your room. Setting it up was easy.
The hard part was deciding if you wanted to risk being petty and moving his things or just putting yours there.
Petty won.
If he was going to force you to get an entire new closet of clothes, you were going to put them in a closet. While moving his suits you snorted to yourself. If circumstances had been different, this shopping spree would have been a dream come true, but now, it just felt like something you would have to worry about repaying later.
Once all of his clothes hanging up were moved, you put his shoes on the bottom shelf. Once you were finished moving his things and adding yours, you moved onto the dresser. Moving his things into two of the six drawers and filled the other four with yours. Next step was rearranging the bathroom to add in the large amount of random makeup things you had gotten.
With nothing else to do, you looked through the list of things the hotel offered and decided to go get a massage. The shopping spree and large total numbers had apparently tired you enough that you didn't really care if Noah was upset.
-----
Noah came back from the meeting to a dark and empty hotel room. Nicolas thankfully kept his head and told Noah to call the front desk to see if they had seen her. That phone call lead him to the spa where he was let into a small room where you were laying face down on a table while a woman worked on the knots in your back.
"He needs to go next. He seems way to tense to be healthy." Noah just stared at you in exasperation, questioning why the hell he was putting himself through all of this for Alec

Any idea for the story will significantly help me get more inspiration.
Tumblr media
After knowing the truth about your parents' accidents, your mind went blank. You didn't hear when Lloyd or Jimmy called your name.
You went to the garden near the fountain. Only the sound of water could calm you.
You sat down on the side of the fountain. You looked up to the sky and sighed.
To be honest, you don’t see your cousins as a threat.
Even now, it hurts you, knowing someone related to you by blood, desperately wanting you dead.
From the outside, they made their image as philanthropy and a saint.
What’s the point of them going to church every Sunday if they want to kill their niece?
Are they asking for forgiveness for sending assassins to kill their niece or praying to God to take away their life?
While you were alone, Jimmy and Lloyd looked at you from the second-floor terrace.
From afar, Jimmy could feel your sadness; he sighed, "It hurts her. Deep down, she hoped they could change."
“Do you want to tell me why they gave me a deadline  to kill her before Wednesday at 1pm?"
Jimmy clicked his tongue. "Next week, there's an important meeting with the shareholders. If Y/N attends the meeting, her position will be secured."
“Didn’t her grandfather choose her?”
“Yes. But there’s a flaw. She only granted the name CEO. Her job is only as a spokesperson or the face of the company. She couldn’t make a decision or take part in a meeting.”
"The truth behind the former chairman's will is there's no free food. He wants Y/N to work hard to earn everyone's trust."
“That's why the meeting on Wednesday is critical. Y/N will present new projects that are worth around 500 billion dollars.”
Lloyd almost choked on his breath. 500 billion?! He starts to feel lucky to have you as his wife.
"It's supposed to be a secret but her relatives found out and they want to steal the project from her. If she attends the meeting along with the presentation, her position as CEO is not just a name.”
Lloyd chuckled. "I have got to say her family is more complicated than any mission that I ever had.”
"Well, you’re part of it now. And you fit perfectly."
Lloyd was silent; he didn't deny it after signing the contract. He wondered what happened when a lunatic met with greedy people.
Jimmy noticed Lloyd kept looking in your direction. "Go to her."
Tumblr media
When he finds you, you look paralysed. You didn't even show any reaction when he sat beside you.
There was a moment of silence until he heard you say, “I bet they are happy right now if I'm dead.”
"Hmm."
He doesn't want to tell you, but they are. Since you look like a corpse, he thinks it's too much for you to handle.
Tumblr media
At the Tech room after you left.
When you were alone, Lloyd ordered the Tech team to hack your cousin's phone and listened to their conversation.
Your cousin is in France right now at a ski resort. Celebrating your death.
"Finally, she's dead."
"Our prayer has been answered."
From the speaker, they sound joyful, laughing, and singing.
One soldier couldn't believe there was a family like that. "Boss, from the satellite the snow is quite thick. If there's an avalanche, no one will suspects anything."
Another soldier said, "Our assets in France has a lot of TNT."
Lloyd smiled. "That will do. Bonus for you both."
*Sniffed* "My mother just donated money to the church cause she's too happy." *Sniffed*
Lloyd shot the speaker; he couldn't continue the conversation.
"The one who snorted the cocaine just now is a police officer."
Lloyd smiled, "Anyone who got their deepest secrets will get a bonus this year."
"Yes, boss!!!"
Lloyd was surprised to see his employees become excited. "Wow, anyone became excited because of money."
'Like you don't?!'
Tumblr media
“I thought maybe they would change because blood is thicker than water. But to my family, money is number one.”
Lloyd doesn't understand why he became sentimental when he saw you sad like this, perhaps because of his new title as your husband. You became his responsibility, and he wants to help you.
He grabs your chins "You’re not alone. Did you forget you got yourself a husband? You didn’t have to endure it by yourself.” Lloyd was into his role as a husband and then laughed like a naughty child.
The sad atmosphere faded away because of him. Your stress finally calmed down.
You slipped a small laugh "Pfft."
"Something funny?"
You nodded. "Being encouraged by a contract killer like you is far more effective than talking to my psychiatrist."
Lloyd liked it when he heard your laugh. So this is what it looks like when you don't carry a burden.
"Now that you look alive again, we need to go inside since we have a little time before Wednesday."
You walked out of the maze together; you didn't bother telling Lloyd to release his hand holding yours.
"If we do this plan, your company name could be ruined"
"Well at least I still have a husband. He just made a deal worth 3 billion."
Lloyd smirked at your answers, "That's right, and he's willing to kill for her."
Yup. You choose a perfect man.
Tumblr media
Wednesday
At the L/N Office Headquarters
Inside the conference room, every shareholder was busy discussing where Y/N was. Some of them prefer your relatives, and some of them are on your side.
"Where is she? I called her phone and her secretary doesn't even know where she is."
"If the rumor were true, she died because of a car accident, her oldest uncle will replace her."
"If he becomes the CEO, I will sell my share."
"Everyone, the meeting will start in a minute. Please take a sit with your name on it."
After every guest was seated, two people stood from their chairs and walked up to the stage.
Both of them are the eldest child of the chairman. And the 2nd son, who became a priest after his business failed.
Under the bright light, they could see 1st uncle and 2nd uncle looked like they were grieving. It seems like the rumour is true. Their niece Y/N got into an accident.
1st Uncle stood at the podium, his face moving closer to the microphone. "I have to say thank you to anyone who attended the meeting. But I have sad news that I need to share."
He took a deep breath and said, "Our dear niece Y/N L/N got into an accident two days ago."
He grabs a handkerchief from his chest pocket to wipe his fake tears and hide his smile.
Like his brother, 2nd uncle also clenches his fist to hold his laugh, and their sister, who sits, also acts their crocodile tears.
People on your team couldn't accept the news because they trusted you.
"That's a lie!!!"
1st uncle sighed. "I know it's hard to accept, but we must move on."
To silence the noisy guest, 1st uncle waved at his brother to speak in front of the microphone.
2nd uncle sighed. "It's unbearable, but I'm glad everyone here cares for our niece. Let's take a moment to pray for her."
Their strategy worked because everyone inside the room became quiet.
"Heavenly Father, we ask for your mercy and grace for Y/N’s soul as they begin their journey into eternity. Please bring them into your loving arms and grant them peace and rest. We also pray that those left behind will find comfort and hope in your presence and the promise of eternal life.
At this moment, we also pray for my dear brother who will replace our niece as the company's new leader. Heavenly Father,-"
A sudden female voice interrupted his prayers. "I have decided to hand such a person over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, in order that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord."
That voice made everyone shiver because they knew who the voice's owner was.
2nd uncle opened his eyes and looked at the door. Not just him but everyone was shocked looking at you standing and alive.
"I'm not surprised anymore, you guys pray for my death."
"Y/N!!!"
Your 3rd aunty was quick and clapped her hands. "It's a miracle. The French police told us they couldn't find your body."
You didn't say anything to her and walked to the stage, making Benjamin, whose knees were weak, fall.
You looked down at him with a mocking smile. "What is it, uncle? It felt like you see a ghost."
"All of you should go before you embarrass yourself."
1st uncle dragged his brother and left the conference room. Your aunties also followed him.
Every guest was silent, but they knew what had happened in the family.
You spoke through the microphone, "I'm sorry for being late. I will cut to the chase. Everyone may check their phones to read the proposal documents. The project is worth 500 billion dollars."
You did the presentation as short and straightforward. After you finished the slides, you were worried because it was just silence. But then you could hear them clap their hands.
You bowed your head to hide your tears. Finally, after four years, you got the approval.
After the successful meeting, you walked out of the company building. There's Lloyd, who's waiting in his black van.
"Congrats, CEO Y/N."
You smiled and sat beside him. "Everything's ready?"
"They're waiting for you, sunshine."

When your relatives leave the conference room somewhere at the warehouse, Lloyd and his team kidnap them to an empty warehouse big enough for three aeroplanes.
“Where are we?” 3rd aunt woke up from her nap and saw her siblings tied to the chair. And there's a group of men with a gun standing behind them.
“Remember the failed project that your son operated?” Your voice echoes inside the warehouse.
“This is the land. It’s perfect for a satellite city but because of your son's stupidity… What a shame.”
Your relative turned their head and saw you walking with a man they'd never seen before. Except for your first uncle, he knew who it was.
"Shit…we are fucked."
4th aunt asked, "Who is he?"
1st uncle whispered, "The guy that I hired to kill her."
5th aunt screamed "Y/N you bitch!!! Let us go!!!"
'BANG'
"AARGH!! Why me? I didn't say anything." 6th aunt screamed because the bullet hit her leg.
Lloyd put down the gun. "No one talks rudely to my wife."
"What?! You're married? With him? And without any ceremonies?" 3rd aunt was in disbelief.
Lloyd was offended, but you spoke first. “I’m disgusted with your concern. FYI, I felt safer with him rather than with you. In your eyes, I’m just a fly that you wait to kill.”
7th aunt tried to be sweet towards you. “Y/N that I know won’t be this cruel.” She never talks to you with respect; this is the first time she's been nice.
You smiled and leaned down. “Aunty, that old Y/N is dead. And this Y/N is out of patience with all of you.”
1st uncle clicked his tongue. "So what now? You're going to kill us ?"
You looked at him for a minute and nodded.
"You ungrateful dog!!!"
'BANG!'
"Fuck!!!" 1st, uncle screamed because of the pain in the shoulder he had never felt before.
"Once again, whoever disrespects my wife will get shot in the head."
You whispered thank you to Lloyd, which made him bow to you.
You sit on the chair facing your relatives. "Here's a thing about grandfather's will. He left me another note.
He wrote, "If Y/N  got the approval from shareholders, she's free to do whatever she wants like get rid of the rotten part of the company."
You raised a pointed finger to them. "Do you understand what he meant? The rotten part is you, my dear aunties and uncles."
Your relatives were hurt when they heard that, even after their father's death, he was able to hurt their feelings.
"Grandfather knew from the beginning that you did not fit in the company. He built this company with sweat, tears, and blood. All of you except my father did a terrible job.”
There was silence until the 7th aunt laughed like a maniac. She said, “Father blames mother for giving birth to stupid kids.”
“While his illegitimate child is the smartest one."
You didn't show any reaction, but inside, you were shocked.
“You didn’t know, did you?”
No way, you didn’t know this fact.
You know your grandma always gave a side-eye towards you and your parents every time you visited.
You always wondered why she never invited you to her tea time. She asked all her grandchildren except you.
You never spend time with your grandmother because you are always busy with the tutor.
Your grandfather's house was big, but you felt suffocated. That's why you choose to study abroad. You felt free.
After your grandmother died, you don't mind studying at Harvard. When she died, she didn't leave you anything. While others got jewellery, a plot of land, her yacht and her villas.
You don't care cause your grandmother says hurtful things about your mother cause she's not from a wealthy family.
So all of this is because they are jealous.
“That’s why we hated you. If he gave you 5% of his fortune, we don’t mind. But you, who is not 100% related to us, got all his wealth?” He scoffed. “It’s not fair.”
“That’s why you killed my parents?”
"Your father acts like he doesn’t want to, but he accepts the offer. Your mother, I hated that smudged face when she found out she won.”
Your relatives were waiting for your reaction since you put your head down.
“Thank you for telling me.”
You start to walk away from them. “Now I have no regrets about making your life miserable.”
1st uncle gritted his teeth, "Our children will get you, Y/N."
"Ah, do you want to know where your kids are?”
You snapped your fingers, and a few people appeared to set the projectors.
The projectors show the news of an avalanche at the ski resorts.
Ten victims and still counting, and many people are digging in the snow to find other victims.
7th aunt had a cold sweat because she recognised the place. Her fears become a reality when she sees someone being pulled out from the snow.
“Alex?”
“Christopher?”
That’s when they knew their kids were buried under the snow. They screamed in agony.
While you look unbothered, “They got into an accident. Just like my parents."
"Fucking bitch."
'BANG!'
Before you know who got shot, your eyes are covered with someone's hand. You knew who the owner was because his moustache tickled your neck.
"I think it's enough. You shouldn't see what happened next."
"But…"
"Shh…shhh… let your husband do the dirty work." He still covers your eyes with his hand and brings you to Jimmy.
"Don't let her hear anything." Jimmy nodded and got you outside, far from the warehouse.
After Lloyd was sure, you had left. He snapped his fingers, and immediately his soldiers got into their positions. While others dragged the 7th aunt's body.
1st uncle wasn't ready to watch his youngest siblings get shot between her eyes.
"You crazy bastards. You're supposed to kill her, I already sent you the money."
"Ooh, that one." Lloyd opened a briefcase and showed them, "Here's the money, along with the penalty."
"Don't tell me,-"
Lloyd nodded. "Yup. You niece offered more money, and she's right. She's worth more than 40 million dollars."
"We could give you more money."
Lloyd shook his head and grabbed the screen tablets. "You have no more money. And it's nice to be the good guy for once. Usually I become the executioner."
He stands before the 1st uncle and reads the file, "You really don't give a shit with poor people do you? The collapsed factory and buried hundreds of workers?"
"It's not my fault."
"Yes, it was your sign who gave the permission to build with low quality material."
2nd uncle "You use the church money that supposed to widows and orphanage and gave it to your son who addicted to gambling."
3rd aunt "You stole the insurance money that was worth 1.5 billion dollars. And made a fake charity for breast cancer patients."
4th, 5th aunt "Wow, two of you made a fake investment, killed your in-laws and stole their assets."
6th aunt "And the last one, the most evil one. You tortured your maid because you thought she stole your pearl earring. Turns out, it was you who forgot. Always blame someone for your mistakes. And to make it worst, you and your two sons like to torture animals. Gosh, you guys are disgusting."
Lloyd shook his head. "Y/N were right, you are far worst than devil." His hand grab pincers from his pants pocket.
Other soldiers also follow his suits. Each of them stands in front of the elders.
Lloyd holds the 3rd aunt's fingers. She was scared, but screaming was useless because their mouths were taped.
"I always hate long nails."
He pulled one nail that made the 3rd aunt cry, "Mmrghh!!!"
Lloyd looked at his soldiers. "Pull the nails slowly to make them remember the pain."
"Yes boss!!!"
A few hours later, Lloyd came out from the warehouse. He wiped his hands from the blood. Then he walked to the black van and knocked on the window.
The car door slid open, and Lloyd jumped to sit beside you. He saw you were busy typing, "What are you doing?"
"Decorated a retired home for them. Since prison can't hold them."
And here he was, worried, so he went to check on you. Lloyd was amazed that you are not affected knowing your half relatives were tortured.
He shook his head with disbelief. "You're one in a billion Y/N."
"That's right."
Tumblr media
Few days later,
After the fiasco with your aunt and uncles, you had a peaceful day. You finally could go back to your own home.
But Lloyd told you to buy a house together to make it more believable that both of you are husband and wife.
You agreed since your old home is the most valuable thing because of the memories you had with your parents.
Everything is going well. You also felt more comfortable with Lloyd.
Lloyd went to the company with you. Because of the contract, he needs to follow you everywhere you go.
He is okay with it since he was curious about your work.
But you hoped he would just stay at home or something like that. Because he won't stop whining.
"Honey, I'm bored." Lloyd rests his body on the chair inside your office.
You didn't bother to look at him because you were busy signing some documents.
"I'll be done in a minute. After this we have to visit construction sites."
"Urrgh." Lloyd rolled his eyes and continued playing with his phone.
You chuckled, seeing him being childish. Office life doesn't suit him.
"You are very welcome to help me."
He shook his head. "Do you have other relatives you want me to kill?"
"No."
He sighed, "I need more action, I don't want to be a house husband."
"Lloyd you are not,-"
"Y/N!!!"
Suddenly a man barged into your office and hugged you. Lloyd immediately stood in his position and held his gun.
But what he saw was the mystery guest hugging you.
"Excuse me wife, are you cheating on me?"
"What?! No…"
You were confused like him. Lloyd pushed the uninvited guest away, making the person fall to the ground. He pulled you close to his side.
After you take a breath, you finally recognise who it is. Blonde, tall, with broad shoulders, has cute dimples every time he smiles and is the man who broke your heart.
You cleared your throat "Lloyd, let me introduce you. Ethan… my ex-fiance."
Lloyd wasn't surprised anymore. He whispered in your ear, "Should I kill him?"

Secret Santa
Tumblr media
“Here,” Jeff put down a $20 bill. He’d been waiting in line long enough to buy the last of his Christmas presents and was willing to lose twenty bucks to make it go a bit faster. “Just take it.”
The big burly man turned around. “Are you sure? I know I have some money in here somewhere…” He continued struggling as he was looking through the massive coat covering his body. With how big and old of a guy he was it was clearly very hard for him to do so.
“Yes. Really. I’m fine,” Jeff replied.
“Wow! To think the Christmas cheer is still going around,” the man’s eyes grew big. “How could I ever repay you?”
“Think you could get me laid?” Jeff snarked.
“Is that what you want?”
Jeff felt himself choke at the suggestion. “God. No. Sorry. It was just a joke. I didn’t mean to say it out loud,” he somewhat apologized.
The man gave a strange laugh. “Of course.” He turned back to the cashier and paid the last of his bill, making sure to give the change to Jeff.
Jeff stuck it in his pockets as he walked away. “That was strange right?” he asked the cashier while she was bagging up his items.
“You’re the one who asked him to have sex with you…” there was a faint smile coming out of the corners of her lips as she said it.
Jeff felt a smile come out of him as well as he realized just how loud he must have said it. “Right…” he blushed a bit as he paid for his items.
Still, Jeff couldn’t help but feel a little weird as he drove home. Something about the guy seemed almost staged or like he was genuinely thinking about giving him his ‘wish.’ Twenty dollars was twenty dollars after all. But Jeff had only meant it as a joke. A bit of frustration he’d had since he’d not really had a date in the last couple of years and was really starting to feel out of it.
Eventually he got to his apartment. His roommate was on the couch playing video games in his Santa suit. He’d taken up one of those bell ringing jobs to make a little bit of extra money and with his extra weight, all he needed to do was put on the suit and he looked like a younger version of the myth. However, what he didn’t expect was the strong smell of freshly baked cookies. It filled the entire apartment and was all he could smell as he entered.
“You bake something?” Jeff asked.
“Nah,” Matt said, not looking away from his game. “A package came and that’s what was in it. There’s a note.”
Jeff went over to the box to see it was already opened with a few of the cookies missing. He found a note as he opened it. ‘Since I wasn’t you’re type, I figured I could get you something a bit better. Ho Ho Ho.’
“Huh?” Jeff flipped the card over a few more times to see if anything else was written on it. He quickly turned to Matt. “And you didn’t see who sent this?”
“It was on the mat when I got home,” Matt said. He paused the game and got up. “Really good fucking cookies. Like God damn,” he grabbed another and shoved it in his mouth. However, as he looked at Jeff, his eyes lingered. It was far longer than they ever had before.
“Wh-what?”
“Noth-ing,” Matt choked on the word. It sure as hell didn’t feel like nothing. “You know what these need? Some milk.” He walked to the kitchen and his large black boots clopped onto the wooden floor with each step.
Jeff chased after him. “Are you avoiding me?” He quickly asked, cornering the other man in the kitchen. Something was happening. Jeff could feel it. He just didn’t know what it was. The way that Matt had looked at him, something was definitely up.
“What? No…” Matt smiled. His cheeks turned a bit red, but stayed that way. He ran a hand through his hair. As he did so, the brown color stripped out of it, causing it to turn completely white. A strong hint of maturity quickly followed as the weight on his face disappeared and instead gave his rounded face a much sharper quality. The wild beard he’d been growing through October and November trimmed itself closer to his face only drawing the strong angles out of his chin even more. “Why would you say that?”
Jeff felt a tingle rung through him at the warm welcoming sound of Matt’s voice. There was a jolly feeling running through the words. “I don’t know…” Jeff could still feel it. Even though he didn’t consciously see Matt’s extra weight starting to pull tightly against his muscles. Or how those same muscles were growing far stronger.
He could just sense something was happening as he watched the white shirt his friend was wearing start to pull tighter to Matt’s chest. Thick biceps and well defined triceps were clung tightly against the sleeves while Matt’s wide shoulders that were shaped more like cannon balls filled them completely. His big belly was pulling in on itself making that the only part of his clothing remain loose. The suspenders were good enough to hold the oversized pants up.
“I just thought you might have one more package to deliver…” Jeff ran his finger down Matt’s firm chest, over his abs and grabbed at the other man’s cock.
“Ho. Ho. Ho!” Matt laughed as he’d been called out. The fear on his face had been replaced with grand holiday cheer as he grabbed Jeff by the waist. His large hands easily lifted the other man up and over his shoulder as though he were nothing more than a small sack of gifts. “Is someone trying to get on the naughty list?” Matt continued to tease as he walked to the bedroom. Then tossed him onto the bed.
“Maybe…” Jeff was able to sneak out. But Matt was quickly on top of him. His massively strong body easily pinned Jeff down to the bed as he kissed the smaller man. His beard gently scratched against Jeff’s smooth face as their mouths interlocked. The two’s tongues wrestled with each other but Jeff the sweet taste of peppermint and chocolate filled his mouth. His fingers intertwined with the large calloused hands of the other man. He squeezed with all his might as his cock throbbed in delight over the natural strength of the other man.
Even if Matt wasn’t exerting any power, Jeff could feel no matter how hard he squeezed it was nothing compared to the person on top of him. His back arched and he pulled out of the kiss and Jeff gasped for air.
“Oh, ho ho!” Matt teased. One of his fingers gently ran down the side of Jeff’s face. “I hope my present isn’t too much for you…”
Jeff shook his head, ‘no’, but his sex addled brain was making it hard to think about anything other than the jolly man on top of him. At some point his free hand had made its way underneath Matt’s shirt and was gingerly running his fingers through the forest of white hair underneath. He parsed through the hair feeling the strong abs and thick meaty pecs, gently squeezing the powerful muscles still hidden underneath the white shirt.
“That’s good to hear…” Matt slowly pulled away from Jeff’s grasp. He slid his hands down the small man’s body and undid the button on his pants. Jeff’s hard cock pointed to the ceiling and swung around. Before Jeff could react, he felt Matt’s lips spread over the tip and his mouth fully engulf his rod.
“HOLY--!” Jeff felt himself gasp as his hands gripped onto whatever they could get ahold of. Feeling the other man’s lips glide against his cock while his tongue wrapped around his rod was far better than he could have imagined. He fought off the wriggling and writhing as the joyous feeling ran through his entire body. He couldn’t help it as sheer bliss ran through him.
Even as one of Matt’s fingers slipped inside his asshole, it only turned him on more. The tickling of his prostate and insides was too much for him. He let out a gasp. Then another buck of his hips. And felt his balls release.
“Oh God!” Jeff cried out as he finished in Matt’s mouth. It took him a few seconds before he’d realized what had just happened and he looked down at Matt. “Sorry… Should have given you a bit more of a warning…”
Matt only smiled as he pulled out the softening cock from his mouth. “I told you I needed some milk.” He stood up and then undid the suspenders over his shoulders and let his pants fall to the ground. Jeff let out a gasp seeing the well defined legs but also the red and green stripped jock strap that was more stuffed than a stocking. “Besides. It’s my turn to deliver that package…”
He undid the jock and his cock sprang to life. At least 10 inches long and thick as a bundle of candy canes, it pointed directly at Jeff. Jeff felt his cock harden again, but the size was far larger than anything he’d ever taken before. His eyes went wide. But he felt one of Jeff’s hands grab him and easily flip him over. He pressed the tip against Jeff’s anus, letting some pre drip down into it.
“It’s okay…” Matt whispered as he nuzzled against the nape of Jeff’s neck. “I’m good at fitting into small spaces… It’s holiday magic.” He pressed the tip in. Jeff let out another gasp as his cock hardened all over again. It slapped against his stomach as more of Matt’s cock pushed inside.
“F-uck…” Jeff moaned as his motor functions gave way. He couldn’t think anymore as the warm hug from behind only made his mind go crazy. And feeling Matt gently nuzzle the soft nape of his neck with his white bristly beard was more comforting than he could have ever imagined. Even as the smell of sweat and sex filled the room, all Jeff could think about was that warm embrace and the powerful arms wrapped tightly around him.
He barely even noticed as Matt finished inside him or that he’d finished again, coating his bedsheets. But a powerful urge to sleep over swept the two men as Jeff finished. Out of the man came, “Merry Christmas…” and a sparkly blue magic emerged from his mouth. The two slept soundly as Matt gently cradled Jeff in his strong arms.

September 25th, 1996
Dear diary,
Things have been crazy busy as we've been training a lot to prepare for homecoming. Not only have we upped our cheer hours in preparation for the halftime show, but I've also been helping Whitney out with preparations for the dance on Saturday - mostly with crafting decorations. I'm probably the worst person she could have asked, because crafts are so not my thing. Pretty sure my lanterns would have been trashed if it hadn't been for Elena's help - she's one of the new Sophomores on the team this year.
The dance is setting up to look great, however, and I've been practicing the homecoming routine as much as possible before school. Sandy and Selena altered one of our routines from last year for this weekend. It's very flashy because we can be more creative with it, and not too difficult because people don't really care about technique or tumbling all that much. They just want a catchy song and a good show - which it definitely is in my opinion.
It also means I've been able to practice it better because there aren't too many parts I have to skip when practicing in the basement.
Because I've been getting home late each day, I've barely seen mom or dad. I can tell mom is still on cloud nine from last Friday though, as she's jumped into 'fall cleaning' with vigor. It's always a little terrifying when she comes around with a moving box and a 'donate first, regret later' attitude. I figured out years ago that the best strategy is to just get a few things to donate set aside beforehand so she'll leave your actual stuff alone. This year I just picked up some clutter from the dollar store and a teddy bear we got for free at the fair last spring. And Whitney was planning on throwing some stuff away so she gave it to me for this very reason. It wasn't much, but she hadn't given me much warning. She seemed more than happy with it though, so I guess I have Mike to thank for that.
I don't know if she told dad about the dinner next Friday. I sure as hell haven't. It feels weird keeping something from him, but I can hardly tell him we're going to dinner but he's not invited. I'm pretty sure he isn't, anyway. I know they've always had a weird relationship, but he's still his dad right? And like, it's not like he ever gave him a chance. Besides, even if your parents are cringe or annoying you can still sit through dinner with them for one night and bite your tongue! It's not that hard and just for one night!
For now I'm just going to focus on this weekend, though. I'm so excited for the dance - my dress is gorgeous and I can't wait to wear it. I'm nervous though; I've never had a date before.
OH, I haven't even gotten a chance to write that down yet!
Daniel asked me to the dance!!!!
I was waiting for the gym to clear out after basketball practice on Monday so we could get our extra hours in, and when the team was dismissed, Daniel gently grabbed my hand and pulled me behind the bleachers. Not behind-behind the bleachers, just hidden from view a bit so we could talk privately. My heart was pounding but he seemed relaxed as he asked me if I wanted to go to the dance with him. He just had that same dorky expression, clearly hesitant for my response even though he had to know what my answer would be. He looked so relieved when I said yes even when he hadn't looked all that nervous to begin with, so I know he'd just tried to be stoic.
Anyway, it was really, really sweet <3 He's taking me to dinner before the dance, so we can have a proper date with just the two of us but can also enjoy the dance with our friends. I'm so excited; I seriously cannot wait.
Love, Holly <3

HardWork Pays Off Eventually
Billy Hargrove x reader
You worked at Burger Town, one of the few restaurants in Starcourt mall. If the bright yellow and red uniform with the burger baseball hats wasn't annoying enough, your coworker was a right piece of work meaning that she didn't actually do any. The only time Kimberly Price lifted a finger was when she was in the back with her press on nails or dancing to whatever was on the radio whilst you attended to the lunchtime rush of Hawkins by yourself. What was most infuriating was that her dad was the boss so Kimberly was always getting extra days off with nobody to cover her shifts and always got pay rises. She was only a few dollars short of earning exactly as much as her father, day by day you were regretting not getting a job at the local pool with your boyfriend Billy Hargrove. Despite his bad boy attitude, he was more than happy to teach the younger children of Hawkins how to swim or save them from drowning. He suggested you get a job with him so you could see each other every day but you had already accepted the job at burger town before he suggested it. Today made you absolutely regret applying more than ever.
You quickly served a table of three with a tired smile and a quiet “enjoy your meal.” You rushed back to the kitchen and started preparing the next meal before only to dash to the counter a few seconds later to take another customer’s order. You had to force a smile as you heard Madonna blasting from the break room. The queue was leaving the restaurant and was almost outside of Scoops Ahoy. You actually saw Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington stick their heads out a few times to see what was going on. You spent over an hour running around like a headless chicken serving food, cooking food and taking orders before things actually calmed down which gave you the chance to clean up tables and bin rubbish. Kimberly walked past you with her jacket and bag on. “Where are you going?” She scoffed, glaring at you as if you’d offended her just by existing. “I have a date with Patrick, I’m leaving early. Remember to lock up and clean up properly, anything that’s done wrong won’t make daddy very happy. Oh and your covering my shift with Ben Woods tomorrow. No way am I working with that nerdy little freak ew! Don’t forget to clock me out at the end. Try and snitch on me, well we’ll see who daddy believes. A bumbling idiot who got this job out of pure luck or his precious little darling of a daughter?” Kimberly giggled before strutting away. “We’ve got six hours and tomorrow’s my only day off!” You yelled after her but she didn’t turn back.
You’d left an hour late, having to tidy up everything as well as lock up. If Steve Harrington hadn’t noticed you struggling with putting the tables away, you’d likely still be there. You stormed out to the parking lot and saw Billy leaning against his car with a lit cigarette and there were three cigarette butts not too far from his feet. “What the hell took you so long, I’ve been waiting for over an hour! I was about to come in and find you. I thought something happened.” He was worried, annoyed and exhausted from his own day of work but you got into the passenger’s seat silently. Billy scoffed, throwing away his cigarette before getting in. “You gonna talk to me or what?” “Just…Drive please” you sniffled. Billy rolled his eyes before starting the car and drove to your house. His dad and Susan were out tonight and Max was at Hop’s house for a sleepover with El so he was spending the night with you.
The ride home was silent except for the quiet buzz of music from Billy's car radio. He noticed a few tears run down your face but for most of the journey, you faced away from him and didn't utter a single word. He parked in your driveway with a sigh and turned you, placing a hand on top of yours. “Please tell me what happened today. You've never been this late from work and you're usually pissy yeah but never crying. What happened?” You looked at him, drying your eyes as you tried to find the words. Billy leaned forward and kissed your forehead, cupping your cheek with his hand as he wiped tears away with his thumb. “I’m just tired, I had a really shitty day. Kimberly walked out six hours early and I had to do everything by myself again! I’m supposed to have a day off tomorrow but she dumped her shift on me instead.” Billy let out a harsh sigh and clenched his jaw, this wasn’t the first time you had complained about Kimberly’s laziness and he was sick of her upsetting you. “You need to leave that shit hole, there isn't anything at the pool right now but at least go work with fucking Harrington! At least I know he's not a total asshole like that Kimberly bitch” he huffed. “Though if he even thinks about hitting on you, the only thing he'll be eating is ice cream cus he won’t have the teeth left to chew!” You couldn’t help but chuckle and Billy grinned. “There’s that sexy smile” he kissed you before you both got out of the car. “I’ll help you out
Billy helped you write out a resignation letter as well as help you get your paperwork sorted so you could apply for another job. “If anything comes up at the pool, you’ll be the first to know. She won’t get away with this shit either, I know it’s hard but we’re gonna get out of this shit hole town. I’m going to take you to California, teach you how to surf. We’ll have our own place, the shit bird and her loser friends can visit in the summer. It’ll be perfect, I promise” he smiled, stroking your hair as you leaned against his shoulder. “Think the kids will bury Steve in the sand?” Billy snickered just at the idea and kissed your temple. “Yeah, maybe we’ll leave him there overnight for the fully beach experience” he chuckled before getting up and heading to the kitchen. You cuddled up together with a bowl of popcorn and watched The Terminator with a promise that Kimberly would be sorry for pissing you off.
The next day you turned up at work but Kimberly was there and so was her father? Kimberly was in tears, hr dad was red in the face and his eyes filled with anger but he calmed down slightly as he noticed you walk in. “Ah, sorry. I was meant to call. I had a dozen complaints yesterday from customers who said you were working alone. Kimberly is working her shift today so you can go home, she’ll be working as she should be and her pay has been cut so she’s earning the usual rate which she’ll be using to fix her car. I walked out the house to see the windshield smashed and the doors all scratched and dented” Kimberly merely sobbed at the mention of her car and was even more hysterical after you handed in your notice, she’d be picking up your shifts as a result.
You walked out to the car park, Billy was still there with a smug grin. “Her car? Seriously?” “Told you she’d be sorry for messing with you” he chuckled as you let out an amused sigh. “What would I do without you Billy Hargrove?” “Crash and burn obviously.”

Eddie Munson x Reader
Tumblr media
You were finishing your shift at family video whenever you saw that Eddie pulled up.
He rushes into the store and picks you up for a hug. After setting you down he has the biggest grin.
"Babe, the i found a trailer for sale," you almost choke on air. he lives with wayne? "It's only a few hours away, I had Dustin help me with the math, we can afford it in two months if we pool together our savings, and if I take on extra deals," he blurts.
"Dustin helped you with the math?" He nods, you reply, "I will redo the math, if our future is relying on you twos math skills, we're dead," you joke.
He rolls his eyes but hands you some papers.
"Well, you two actually cam within a few hundred dollars. If I start working more shifts, and I can take Vanessa's overtime, it can be a month," you explain.
Eddie argues with you over taking extra shifts for fifteen minutes untill Robin helps settle the issue, "Eddie, Y/N is stubborn as hell. She isn't going to agree, the sooner your shut up the sooner you get out of the dog house,"
"Good idea, you're in the dog house," you say with a boop of Eddie's nose.
"Wh-What doe that mean," he asks fidgeting with his rings.
"No sex, cuddles. Or kisses until you agree," you say walking away to restock some movies.
"Fine, " Eddie yells. He can't last two minutes without your touch. Lasting long enough for you to agree with him, no way.
**
It has been one month and you and Eddie were sitting on the step of Eddie's trailer waiting.
You both had bought the trailer, a light gray one bedroom, one bath. Slightly smaller than waynes.
"We thought you guys might need help," you hear a voice say.
You look down the street and see, Steve, Robin, Nancy, Dustin, max, Lucas, will, and mike. And the there is Dustin who is already hugging you.
"That's my girlfriend not yours," Eddie scolds.
"Are you sure?" You joke.
Just as everybody has said hellos, you see the trailer come into view. It was on a large flatbed trailer.
Robin squeals with excitement, "I can't believe you are getting your own place!" She hugs you.
After a few hours the trailer has everything in it. The kids helped carry boxes, while Nancy gave everybody orders.
"Our first home," Eddie says smiling.
He pus you into his lap by your waist.
"My eyes," Dustin complains.
"Henderson," you warn before kissing eddie.
Gagging noises begin and you pull away.
"Jokes on you," you say smirking as Dustin, Lucas, Mike, and will crowd on the bigger couch, "We had sex there,"
Their faces pale as they jump up, shrieking.
You laugh as Steve face palms and Eddie buries his head in your shoulder.
This chaos was home.

Special Day
in which kenny’s siblings and friends scrounge up the resources to celebrate his birthday
Pairings: slight k2, mostly gen and friendship
Word count: 3032
Warnings for: none! just some light angst
[AO3 Link]
Kevin re-counted the amount of money in his hands, down to the last penny, and blinked.
“Mrs Marsh, I think you gave me too much.”
She peered over her glasses at him. She glanced at the money, and said, after a moment, “No, honey, I gave you exactly the amount I meant to give you.” Then, she went right back to the farm’s accounting books.
And normally, Kevin wasn’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but this was thirty extra dollars. He took the bills back out, holding them out to her insistently. “It just don’t feel right, ma’am.”
Every week for the past year or so, Kevin McCormick found himself down at Tegridy Farms because Karen wanted piano lessons, and Shelly Marsh was the only person in town who Kevin knew was offering. Of course, that didn’t mean he had the money to pay for them— instead, he offered to do her favors for the lessons, and was aptly confused when she sputtered, turned red, then swung her heavy backpack at his head.
Which was how he ended up doing her chores.
So, every week, while Karen plunked away at piano keys —becoming a downright prodigy, if Shelly’s begrudging comments were to be believed— Kevin worked the fields and packaged the products with Mr Marsh, and if he had the time, he helped Mrs Marsh juggle numbers. This was where getting paid came in, since it wasn’t really part of Shelly’s chores, and Kevin was good at math when it mattered. (Being good at math when it mattered meant that the lights stayed on through dinner and that the household had hot water until next month.)
He was happy to help, happy to get paid for it, and when he asked Mrs Marsh if her husband was really okay with paying him for the extra work, she’d said, “What he doesn’t know won’t kill him. And if it does, good.”
She waved him off. “Kenny’s birthday is coming up, right? Consider this a gift from the Marsh family.”
“Oh, okay.” Kevin stared at it a bit longer, starting to turn pink. “...What should I get with it?”
“Something nice, Kevin!” She gave him an incredulous look that softened when he curled in on himself. “What do you usually get him for his birthday?”
He thought about it for a moment. “Gloves. New socks, if I have enough.” He shrugged. Anything that wasn’t threadbare and could actually help keep the cold out. Shit, he should visit the thrift store soon. He mentally set aside clothing money from what he’d just gotten.
“Well, what does he like?”
“Um.” Porn? Drugs? Cats? He couldn’t get Kenny any of those. How was he supposed to explain to her that he’d never had to worry about getting his siblings presents they’d like before, since before they hadn’t had the money to even consider it? It was too many words, and would've garnered more sad looks than he was comfortable with. The longer he sat there, not answering, the heavier the weight of her eyes became. It was making his hands clammy, so finally he just shrugged again. “Nas…car…?”
Brother of the year, really.
Karen would know what to get him.
He rubbed his eyes with the palms of his clammy, gross hands as Mrs Marsh said, gently, “Listen, sweetheart, Karen’s probably done with her lesson by now. Why don’t you go meet her out front?”
“Yeah… Thank you, Mrs Marsh.”
Ah, he realized as Karen hopped up into the passenger seat of his truck, chattering brightly about this sick riff she finally learned how to do, I never did get her to take the money back.
---
Tegridy Farms was thirty minutes out from the town proper, and after about ten minutes of listlessly replying to Karen, she spent a moment just staring at him.
“So, Kev,” she started, pulling her leg up to rest her chin on her knee.
“Foot off the seat, Karen.”
She set her foot back down. “So, Kev,” she tried again. “Where are we going?”
He spared her a confused glance before shifting his eyes back to the road. “Home? Where else?”
“Wha— Home?! But you said we would go shopping for Kenny’s present today!”
“Oh.” He had said that, hadn’t he? He rubbed idly at the old scar that cut through his left eyebrow. “Hey,” he remembered the earlier conversation with Mrs Marsh. “What kind of present do ya think Kenny would like?”
When she didn’t answer immediately, he glanced in her direction again, only to see her with the same amount of guilt on her face as he felt roiling through his stomach. She smiled nervously. “...um. Porn?”
“...we can’t get him porn, Kare.”
She threw her hands up. “I know we can’t get him porn, which was why I was hoping you would know what to get him!” She huffed and crossed her arms while Kevin snickered at her expression. “It’s just like– I know he likes singing, but what else do you need besides your voice for that? I know he likes tinkering with the junk out in the front yard, but that’s the thing about tinkering with junk– all you need is junk!” He nodded along as she ranted; those were his thoughts exactly. (Kind of.) Then, Karen quieted, turning somber. “Come to think of it… he hasn’t been doing that stuff too much lately, has he?”
Kevin paused a little, in his movement to turn down the car’s stereo. He racked his brain for everything he’d noticed about their brother in the last couple of weeks, wanting to refute the point. But it was true. Kenny really hadn’t sung in a while. Not in the shower, nor while doing dishes, humming little ditties off the top of his head. He also hadn’t come into the house with his hands covered in grease, grinning over his latest metal monstrosity and showing it off to everyone who cared to listen.
Kenny, lately, had instead gotten into the habit of staring vacantly off into space, only stirring when addressed. He made barbed comments more often than he laughed, and he was starting to spend more of the time he was home holed up in his room. And Kevin would’ve chalked it up to hormones, except for the fact that he knew that Kenny spent as much time as he could with his friends before high school began. Between them and his part-time job at City Wok, there was no reason why he should be at home, holed up in his room, so frequently.
…unless something happened with his friends? It wasn’t like they didn’t talk anymore. Kenny’s friends still came over every now and then, making a ruckus and causing mayhem in the McCormick’s barely-standing household. So…?
“Y’know, Kenny’s been saying…” Karen was chewing on her bottom lip, fiddling with the drawstrings of her jacket. “He’s been saying that he’s scared that his friends aren’t gonna have time for him anymore.”
Kevin blinked. They were entering the town now, buildings accumulating as they drove. “He told you that?” He was honestly surprised that Kenny actually said it. Getting anything out of him, sometimes, was like pulling teeth. (Or, maybe, it was more that Karen was a talker and Kevin simply wasn’t.)
“I mean, not in those exact words. But he keeps talking about it– growing older, growing out of the things that you used to enjoy, forgetting things from when you were a kid.” Forgetting people, too hung unspoken in the air.
It was like he believed he had already been left behind.
And how could Kevin ever fix something like that? He’d never been blessed with the “big brother” powers Karen used to joke about Kenny having. He’d never been anyone’s guardian angel, least of all Kenny’s.
He puzzled over the question as he drove, absentmindedly asking, “Where were you thinking of going first?”
“Oh! Can we go to the library, actually? Tricia wanted me to make a copy of this picture I took…” The rest of her words faded out in Kevin’s ears as he finally figured it out.
He hit the brakes. “ Karen, you’re a genius!”
“ Aah!! How?!”
---
So far, for his birthday, Kenny’d gotten a $25 gift card to Bennigan’s with a neat little card from Butters, the entire first season of Hamtaro on DVD with a sticky note that read get cultured, bitch from Craig, and a set of cake pops in a baggie from Tweek that Cartman had demanded a stick of at lunch. All in all —though he was now down two cake pops, because Eric had snagged another one while he wasn’t looking— not a bad haul. All that, plus Kyle had invited the boys (Cartman included begrudgingly) over to his house after the school day, so Kenny even had Mrs Broflovski’s awesome cooking to look forward to.
After a long period of shitty day after shitty day, it finally felt like today was going to be a good one.
On the bus, Cartman invited him to a game of heads-up poker, and by the time they arrived at their stop, Kenny had soundly beaten his opponent, winning $50 doing it. “God dammit!” hissed Cartman, throwing the dollar bills at him.
Kenny gathered them up off the ground. “Shouldn’t’ve bet so much,” he responded, licking his fingers and thumbing through his earnings. “I warned you, man.”
“Remind me to never get you a present again,” Cartman muttered darkly as Kyle and Stan joined them on the sidewalk.
“You got me a present?”
“Well, no.”
Kenny rolled his eyes.
“You’re an ass, Cartman.” Kyle shoved past him to open the door.
Stepping through the doorway, Kenny’s eyes widened at the banner strung across the Broflovski’s living room, the streamers hanging from every corner, and finally at the poppers he was greeted with. He blinked. “Karen? Kevin? What’re you guys doing here?”
Karen and Ike each had a popper in hand, beaming up at him while Kevin stood a little more off to the side, wearing a smaller smile. Swallowing, Kenny took another look around. This was… really nice. He knew that Kyle had wanted him to come over because it was his birthday, but he didn’t think it would be like this. Decorations and the whole nine-yards. There was a pie on the table with a candle in it, waiting to be lit. Everyone was putting on party hats. His siblings were even here.
Kyle nudged him with his shoulder. “Do you like it?”
Nodding slowly, Kenny looked at him with what he hoped wasn’t a watery expression. “...pie?” he asked.
“‘Wishing You a Happy Birthday’ apple pie. Made it myself. It’s a bit of a working title, but ultimately I thought you’d appreciate the reference anyways.” Kyle grinned when Kenny giggled.
“Kenny!” cried Karen, coming up in-between them. She pulled him forward to sit in front of his birthday pie. “Sit down and blow out your candles so we can get to your presents! Kevin and I got you the best present ever, it’s gonna kick all these other mofos’ presents outta the water!”
A bit later saw him staring down into the flickering light of fourteen candles. Watching the fire dance made his chest feel cold. Another year older. Already, Kyle was spending more time practicing basketball with Tolkien and Jason, hoping to make it onto the varsity team fresh out of middle school. He’ll probably study like crazy, making new friend groups that could actually keep up with him academically. Even if he still saw Stan every day at school, Stan was talking about starting to volunteer at the animal shelter in Denver, and the farm was too far out for him to visit just whenever. But maybe if it was for their band… And Cartman was cagier than ever about what his plans for the future were, but Cartman’s plans could always be trusted to be stupid enough to bring the four of them back together. In sickness and in health, and all that.
The coldness had moved from his chest to his stomach. He was nervous, like actually nervous about this. As if not blowing out the damn candles can keep him from getting older. As if he could transfer his immortality over to the flames, and that would keep him from dying and being forgotten and dying and being forgotten, and suddenly the day that death finally sticks and his friends just fucking forget all about him altogether isn’t something to worry about anymore.
“Make a wish, Kenny,” murmured Karen.
With his heart in his throat, he closed his eyes and prayed that he and his friends could keep being dumbasses together. He blew out the candles.
Hearing a quiet click!, he opened his eyes amidst the cheering, locking gazes with his older brother. Kevin had a fancy camera in his hands that Kenny wasn’t sure where he’d gotten it from, but he couldn’t quite focus on it because Karen was cheering in his ear and Ike and Cartman were high-fiving because they’d both started requesting slices from the pie at the same time and Kyle was yelling at them both to shut up and Stan was pushing a box gently into Kenny’s hands and holy shit it was the Phyrexian Faves expansion pack.
“You know this is gonna make me pretty much undefeatable now, right?”
Stan rubbed his nose. “Nah, I’m only giving myself a handicap. I don’t wanna wipe the floor with you too hard next time we play.”
“Oh yeah? Wanna go right now?” Stan’s face paled, shaking his head ‘no’ as Kenny continued, “Come one, come all, gather ‘round for the rematch between reigning champion Kenny McCormick and challenger Stan Marsh, whose record remains a steady 0-33!”
“We don’t have time to watch Stan get his ass kicked at Magic,” deadpanned Ike. “There’s pie.”
Cartman nodded sagely. “Ike’s the only one around here that gets it.”
Kyle paused from where he was setting out plates, then shook his head. “I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel about you saying that.”
Once Ike ran off with his slice of pie and Kenny’s friends had grabbed slices themselves, Karen waved her arms to get their attention. She was holding the fancy camera Kevin had been holding earlier. “Say cheese!” This time, after the flash, he curiously watched as film printed from the bottom of the camera. “I’ll give it to you in a sec, I know ya wanna see it,” she said, sweetness coloring her voice. “It takes about a minute to develop.”
The minute passed, all four boys clambering over each other to look at the finished product. Kenny held his breath at the photo. It was just a normal picture of the four of them— Kyle and Cartman looking moments from getting into a fistfight, Stan with his hands on Kyle’s shoulders talking him down, and Kenny leaning over the table to steal a bit of Cartman’s pie right from under his nose.
“Doesn’t look bad, right?” Kevin leaned over his shoulder to take a look at the photo himself. “Got you a camera. We thought it might help you with making memories and everything, since y’all are going into high school.”
“Wait, we need like three more of these!” Kyle cried out before he could fully process Kevin’s words.
Kenny’s friends gathered into a cluster around him as Karen giggled and lifted the camera again, clicking the shutter once, twice, three times. She set the undeveloped film down again, repeating the process; after a minute, Cartman flipped over the photos and started cackling. “I look so good, and then there’s Stan!” He continued cackling, pointing at Stan in each of the photos. He was blinking in one, looking very high in the other, and in the last one, he was still busy fixing his hat. Cartman, meanwhile, had the same expression that he wore in all his photos, the one that specifically made him look like an angel.
Kyle, too, was smiling in each of the pictures, with only one difference in the first one where he’d spent just a moment too long watching Kenny out of the corner of his eye. It was the same way he was probably watching him now, since a lump had risen in Kenny’s throat as Cartman and Stan were starting to yell. Kenny pulled his hood up and tightened the drawstrings in an attempt at hiding the way tears were welling up in his eyes. The room was full of his favorite people in the world, but that didn’t mean his brother and his friends weren’t going to heckle the hell out of him for crying like a baby over a couple of pictures.
So he didn’t cry, not one bit. Not even when Kyle pulled him into a hug, nor when Stan left the argument to throw his arms around the two of them. Not when Karen joined in, pulling Cartman in after her, and definitely not when Kevin momentarily set aside his aversion to touch to ruffle Kenny’s hair. Nope. “This is gay as hell,” he said, instead of crying.
He spent the rest of the day practicing taking pictures with the camera, with Cartman directing him on how to optimize lighting and angles and film storage for the best photos, since “a poor fuck like him” wouldn’t know how to properly use an instant camera. He took pictures of his sister sitting at the Broflovski’s piano to teach Ike a simple melody line of something from the Minecraft OST, of Kyle and Stan yelling at each other as they played Mario Kart, of Mrs Broflovski laughing brightly at a joke Kevin told. Cartman posed for him in front of the window, and as the sun set, Mrs Broflovski insisted that the McCormick siblings take a picture altogether.
And after that, Kenny still didn’t cry, but he did tuck the camera under the loose floorboard in his room. With the photos… he looked around his room. There was a bit of wallspace next to his window that he hadn’t covered up with posters.
He needed some tacks…

I really would like financial assistance without having to pour out my heart and soul but I think in order to get the help that i need I'm going to have to do that. So let me share what my year has been like since I'm genuinely not open about it:
First of all my brother and I got an apartment together, we get along like peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream. We both suffer from an unexplained seizure disorder. I was lucky enough to have been battling with the doctors until i was put on antiseizure medications but my brother hasn't gotten that far yet he's still waiting out for nine months before seeing a neurologists because they Will Not medicate him otherwise. We got the apartment about an hour drive from where we both worked, i dropped my job and got hired at the same company as my brother so our commute would be the same.
My brother was sick as a dog, i understood. I'd been there barely a year before and i was unemployed for the most part of it as i fought doctors.
I just got out of a bad relationship and i had saved up three quarters of the downpayment and our landlord decided that we'd pay off the rest thru our rent. (Only after we moved out did we learn from our neighbors that we were also spending an extra 200 dollars a month more than everyone else in the complex because we were both openly queer). We were barely scraping by.
Then we tested positive for covid. Spent a week on our asses. And it got worse.
My brother had been taking my dad to court for sa. My father was being investigated under FEDERAL COURT for sa, acts domestic terrorism, and war crimes when he toured in Afghanistan. Instead of being detained, he went to a local gun shop with one bullet, asked to see a gun, loaded it and shot himself in the head in the shop.
My brother was battling him in court for about 6 months and the stress of the news along with planning the funeral, which I have no idea why my mother thought he should be responsible for it, anyways the stress was making his seizures worse and more frequent so we were out of luck for another week. Two weeks without a paycheck was all it took for us to get evicted from our apartment.
My mother took us in, and emotionally abused the both of us KNOWING THE WHOLE TIME about the sa and deciding to live with that man for 25 years and looked the other way. She threatend to call the cops on us and kicked us out of the house after being there for two months and we ended up having to place our belongings in a storage unit. Before that i haven't spoken to my mother in 5 years and i will never speak to her again.
Then my uncle on the other side of the country invited us to live under his roof, so he paid for us to come here. The idea was that he was going to support us until we could move out on our own. We gave up our jobs, our friends our medical appointments and therapists. Everything. To come live with our uncle and we asked him several times if he was SURE he could handle two autistic people with medical issues.
The other day his wife sat us down and said she was tired of taking care of us and she wants us out of her house in at least the next two weeks. My uncle backed her up but said nothing the whole time. This was AFTER she made us pull out credit cards that we didn't want because of debt. Literally since we've got here she's drilled us about "hitting the bricks" and "having a side hustle". She said that she didn't want to build any animosity towards us so its better if we don't live under her roof anymore. SINCE WE GOT HERE She gave us about a month to find a job and pay 300 for rent each (which we're living in her BASEMENT by the way) and we DID find a job in that time. We got hired and filled out the paperwork and they NEVER SCHEDULED US IN. We called and called and showed up at the doorstep several times and it just fell through so my brother got a SECOND JOB. I'm still looking for a second job he just got his first paycheck in.
So now we have less money than we did before the move we used all of it for the move. We have No money saved up for a downpayment even for subletting. We have credit card debt and we have nowhere to go. I have a cat that I'd rather D I E than part with and my brother and I can't be separated. We're both chronically ill, trans, have severe PTSD and need medications to mentally and physically perform. Every family memeber I've ever had has royally SCREWED ME.
I've been trying to get commissions in but right now i cannot fill in the gaps quick enough we're going to either need to find a shelter or live in our car WHICH ITS A 100 DEGREES OUT HERE ON THE EAST COAST.
Please I need help. I need to get back on my feet so I can start making income. I can't lose the only two things i have left in this world. I've never been so low in all my life and I've got nothing to show for.
Help line sources. Inner community stuff. Money. Signal boost. Literally anything.
I'll still do commissions but i need more support than that.

There's a scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Indi (Harrison Ford) and his father (Sean Connery) are tied to chairs, having been captured by Nazis after Indi's girlfriend betrayed them.
Indi quietly asks his father, "How did you know she was a Nazi?"
His father replies, "She talks in her sleep."
Indi does a double-take.
When I first saw that movie I was about 8, sitting cross-legged on the carpet in my parents' house, way too close to their CRT television. I thought, "Nazis talk in their sleep? What an interesting piece of trivia."
I watched that movie a lot of times over the next few years. When I was about 12, and old enough to realise the idea that Nazis talk in their sleep was absurd, I interpreted the double-take differently. I thought, "Ohhh. Indi has suddenly realised his father has lost his marbles."
It's been more than 20 years since I've seen that movie, but having watched it over and over back when my brain was still spongy and malleable, I don't need to see it again. I can watch a highlight reel in my head whenever I feel like it (although while fact-checking this piece I noticed that Ford and Connery weren't tied to chairs, as I remembered). This scene popped into my head recently, and I finally, finally, understood why Indi was so startled.
It made me laugh.
I'm sharing this story because I've been thinking about how many metrics are involved in the consumption of art these days. When Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade came out, there weren't many ways of measuring its success - just the number of dollars it earned at the box office, the quality of the reviews in the newspapers, and the number of Oscars it was eventually nominated for (3, winning 1). If it were made now, the distributor could track not only how many people watched it, but at exactly what point viewers were most likely to stop watching, which scenes got paused and replayed, and how likely viewers were to tell their friends about it on social media. All this extra data seems like it should help filmmakers tell better stories.
But how do you track which jokes will make people laugh, when they're thinking about it 20 years later?
You don't, I guess. Algorithms can track your behaviour, but they can't actually spy on your thoughts (yet). So, creators optimise for the data they do have. This creates an incentive to tell stories which keep people watching, listening and sharing, but which are quickly forgotten. Engaging, but evaporative. I'm sure there are many reasons for the effervescence of contemporary film and television (the sheer amount of content, pressure to compete with social media, the fact that 45% of us are watching our phones and our TVs at the same time) but this is definitely one piece of the puzzle.
I don't have Spielberg's genius, but I am lucky enough to be working in a medium that isn't quite so quantifiable (although that is changing). This means I'm free to tell the stories I think readers will remember for years to come, even if I have no way of telling whether my instincts are right.
 Speaking of which...
In 2014 I wrote a book called Scream: The Human Flytrap.
It was translated into French, adapted for audio, and spawned three sequels. And now, ten years on, it's about to be re-published.
Warning: the book was intended for kids and teens, but when I asked my publisher how scary I could make it, her response boiled down to "as scary as you want, so long as there's no sex or drugs in it." I took her at her word, and wrote a book which gave nightmares to a generation of kids, who are now deeply traumatised adults.
Preorder it from your local bookshop or below - if you dare.

Shutting the door you sighed and leaned against it. The Halloween rush had been insane and you were more than happy to have a few days off. You’d closed your eyes and leaned your head back against the door.
But when you opened your eyes you saw that the living room was quite literally covered with sweet wrappers over every inch. You couldn’t make out a spot that didn’t have a wrapper on it. You could hear Jason round the corner so heading to the kitchen dining area you went to ask him what happened to all the Halloween candy as there was no way you could get more on such short notice.
“What the hell!” You said slowly. Jason jumped and turned around to look at you.
“I can explain.” He said quickly.
“You ate all the Halloween candy! You know all the stores are sold out. I literally complained to you yesterday about that lady who thought we had a secret stash of candy in the stock room and we had to call the cops when she wouldn't leave.” You complained. You sounded more whiny and frustrated than cross but Jason still looked worried.
“There’s no more anywhere else… oh hi (Y/N).” Hoyt said rather sheepishly.
“What’ve you been doing?” you asked them. You crossed your arms and glared at them until Jason relented and went to the fridge. He pulled out a giant ball made up of a wide variety of Halloween candy.
“Seriously?” You said unimpressed with what you saw. Hoyt looked appropriately guilty but Jason frowned.
"I get that you’re mad I melted all the candy for Halloween. But look at the giant candy blob I made!" Jason said rather eagerly and showed you the giant candy again, holding it aloft like the money in the lion king held by the cub at the beginning of the movie.
“What was your involvement in this?” You asked Hoyt.
“I just came over to check in on him and found him making this.” Hoyt said and gestured to the tray, pots and your good pan which were all not covered in this sugary residue or drying chocolate.
“Then you can go.” You said and gestured over your shoulder to the door with your thumb over your shoulder. Hoyt did not wait for a second opportunity to leave and abandoned Jason to your mercy. “Do you know how hard it was to find all this candy after you ate the first load?” You complained and frowned firmly at Jason.
“I’m sorry! I’ll get more.” He insisted.
“How? All the stores in town are sold out. There will be kids here for candy any minute.” You snapped.
“Any minute?'' Jason said slowly as if he was sure you were joking.
“Yes. It’s Halloween.” You answered with more irritation. Jason’s eyes went wide and he nodded slowly.
“It’s Halloween.” He repeated.
“You’re going to have to rush to the weird store in the next town over and hope they have candy. Apparently, that’s the only place that has any. You better eat that giant candy blob as well. I spent thirty dollars on all that candy.” You said as you went to your room to change into the costume you’d picked out to wear while giving out the candy. It wasn’t anything fancy and you’d still be comfortable while watching a few Halloween movies at home. Jason left and was gone for a long while. He’d chipped off a big chunk of the candy ball to take with him. He managed to make it back just as the first trick-or-treater was hurrying up the path. Jason gave them extra candy as payment for them not telling the other houses that he wasn’t prepared enough. As the candy bowl grew lower the ball of candy Jason was eating got smaller and smaller. He’d almost finished it when he got up and groaned, saying he needed to go lay down. While he went you answered the door and found Sookie holding her candy bucket.
“I heard someone ate all yours and I haven’t had many visitors this year. Figured you might need to stock up. There’s a couple of big groups on the way.” She said as you beckoned her in. She sat with you on the sofa and after a while, the trick-or-treaters arrived. “Where’s Jason?” Sookie asked.
“Laying down. He’s eaten about five kilograms of candy in one day. He probably has a stomach ache.” You said as you opened the door and held out the bucket. There was a cheer as they saw Sookie’s candies. She liked to make handmade ones that her grandma taught her to make. You saw off the group and went to find where Sookie had gone. Jason was laying on the bathroom floor groaning. One hand clutched his stomach while he gnawed on the little piece that was left of the candy blob.
“Jason, if you feel so bad stop eating it! You’re gonna end up in the hospital and you don’t want to do that on Halloween. You’ll be stuck with all the weirdos.” Sookie insisted as he poked Jason’s leg with her foot.
“I’ll get you some water.” You muttered and fetched Jason a glass. He spent the rest of the night laying there until Hoyt came by with dinner as a way to be sure he had made amends for participating in Jason’s holiday antics.
“I’ll pull him out to the hall and get him a bucket. That way you and Sookie can use the bathroom.” Hoyt said as he pulled Jason out of the bathroom too many objections from Jason who accused Hoyt of being a traitor. Strangely enough once Hoyt dished out the dinner, Jason miraculously recovered, managing to eat two helpings and even complained loudly about the Halloween special that Sookie had put on. Though he was still far too unwell to get up and open the door to trick-or-treaters.

Referencing your post about the $450 commission, one of my favorite artists just opened their commissions on instagram.and for a headshot was $300 I SAID HUH ???
Like don't get me wrong, their art is amazing and no one should sell their are short BUT 300 DOLLARS???? I'm sorry but over pricing is a thing with some artists on social media because bestie who is buying a $300 headshot of anything?? 😭😭
Frrr
like okay- I don’t like to set prices on someone else’s art, I hate to undervalue or make someone else feel like theyre over charging or not worth their money
But SOME OF THESE PRICES? They’re big and good for you if you can afford it 😭
But my issue is with people who don’t give you a price sheet, they just say I’ll work on it, and you can pay em give me down and I’ll lock you in
And then they try to give you something low low quality than what they’re advertising
My friend- she’ll do two person comisaions full body 45-50 dollars,
This person i met on tumblr real sweeet! $50 set price for 2 people full body and a child, i love it-
I have a friend for $35 with do one person watercolor with simple back ground and it’s +5-10 dollars for extra person good prices
But don’t charge me $200+ if you’re giving me $50-$60 quality 😭
I even showed her sample to my commission friends and they said her method of taking commissions on was wrong that she should provide a sheet and update her advertisement and reference sheets with recent art work
Because i get your art style develops over time, and from what she showed me to what she gave me? Pfft big difference imma add some little pictures and it’s nothing against her but please 🥹

Just a few side by sides
Left side is reference she advertised
Right is what she offered me,
And on the left I noted more little accidents like the missing eye brow and the fingers not being lined, but from far away it looked good! I didn’t zoom into detail til today when I was asking about why the colors and details don’t look anything alike
