road trip as a teenage avenger headcanons!

it was an annual tradition for the avengers to go on a road trip.

steve always said it was "team bonding". it was honestly kind of fun.

better than the other "team bonding" you did, which mainly consisted of running long distances!!

anyways, they usually would do it soon after you, harley, peter, and miles finished school (also yes im including miles now bc i love him)

tony would come over the intercom while you all were lounging around and tell you to pack your bags.

packing is always a big issue.

let's just say that SOME people are big overpackers...

COUGH scott COUGH

no offense to him but like ppl have had to sit in the trunk before because of him

and he overpacks with stuff that rly doesn’t make sense

like once y’all went to colorado

and he packed snorkeling equipment

and so you were like “scott. seriously?”

and he looked at you with such a serious face

“y/n. what if all the snow melts? then we would be underwater!! i have an extra snorkeling mask too. i was gonna give it to you, but now idk….”

HAHA

bruce overpacks too

but he overpacks in a good way

well him and tony both

like the man doesn’t even wear sunscreen

and then here comes bruce with a tote bag full of snacks

which tony eats half of by the way

the best part of having thor on a trip is that he will ALWAYS pick you up if you’re too tired

like once he had you and peter under both his arms like footballs bc u got tired

and clint was sad bc he was tired too

he tried to get scott to pick him up but scott wasn’t ready and they both fell and they like hit their heads

that was an interesting day

ok so setting the scene again

you, peter, harley, miles, natasha and bruce were in the middle of a very competitive round of uno

like y’all

competitive doesn’t even begin to cover it

anyways you were about to get uno

you put down your card and suddenly

“HEY EVERYBODY” “SHHH you’re being too loud” “ohh sorry HEY EVERYBODY”

you started laughing at the quite obvious blunders of thor and clint in the intercom room

“thor, buddy? you don’t need to be kissing the mic when you speak, alright?”

tony, from another room, always quick with the jabs.

“AH! MY BAD STARK. HAHA! THIS MUST BE BETTER”

natasha just shook her head but you and peter, harley and miles were DYING

“ANYWAYS IT IS ROAD TRIP TIME. EVERYONE PACK UP AND BE IN THE FAMILY ROOM IN TEN MINUTES… what? MY MISTAKE. ONE HOUR. THAT’S RIGHT ONE HOUR.”

with that done, you all got up, groaning.

“uno.” natasha smirked at you, noticing that you only had one card.

“darn it!!!” you said. “well, doesn’t matter now. we have to go anyways.”

“we can always resume it later, y/n :) “

“fine, nat. but i’m going to win this time!! right bruce??”

“well, kid, you know i’m usually on your side, but…”

“aw, come on!!”

ok fast forward.

you were in the family room

and here comes scott with his fifty bags

“relax sharpay, we’re not gonna be gone for THAT long”

guys i wanted a cool tony nickname and tbh i just remember vaguely that sharpay had like suitcases on the cover of her movie i never even watched it so i could be wrong but that was my intention

“tony, these are my essentials.”

“scott, why don’t you just shrink that down? like seriously, man.” miles remarked, and you couldn’t help but agree.

“hey, y’know what? that’s a great idea miles!!”

and so he ended up shrinking his luggage

but then he couldn’t find it

anyways tony and happy did a lot of car assignment work

to make sure everyone would get there safely

and your car

ok also this was only for the trip there

the trip back would be different

ok the car was

tony, happy, clint and peter

tbh this was not a bad car at all

poor miles and harley were stuck with scott, bucky, sam and steve

natasha and wanda and pietro and thor were the other one

although here’s the issue

tony is a bad driver

but happy didn’t feel like driving

and u were just starting to drive so clint was like “NO WAY do i trust y/n in a car!!!”

so tony was driving

oh and btw y’all were going to the compound

tony told you and you were like

“dude, that’s not a road trip”

and he was like “we’re in the car for more than an hour. it’s a road trip, kid.”

and miles and harley kept texting like theorizing about where u were going

anyways ya

so tony is like swerving and speeding everywhere

ok maybe thats dramatic

but happy was holding the little bar

and he was like yelling at tony to slow down

meanwhile clint is just singing along to the music thats BLASTING

and u and peter are ready to accept ur deaths

like u literally texted sam a video of what was happening and he almost called happy to tell him to pull over 😭

sam’s got ur back thats for sure!!

anyways tony pulled into a drive thru

bc he needed coffee

guys hes tony stark he needs stuff like that

and he got u and peter and clint happy meals :D

and clint was so excited like 💀

love him

happy made sure u and peter had ur seatbelts on

he said it was bc he didn’t want to have to explain to midtown why yall didnt come back for the next year 😭

that and “too much paperwork”

smh

anyways tony finally got it together

u and peter decided that he just needed an acoustic song on the radio bc as soon as something more relaxing came on he was a lot better lol

the rest of the drive was pretty alright

i'm gonna do another headcanon set about the avengers actually on vacation but yeah there ya go :)

part 2 of Chad and Ryan headcanons because im still exploding (here's part 1 and part 3):

so then summer at Lava Springs happened

you know how Sharpay specifically asked for Troy to carry her golf bag?

well I think Ryan definitely specifically asked for Chad to be there too

and when they got left behind by everyone else on the golf field, they definitely started a conversation

neither of them expected it to go so smoothly but it did, and after that day Chad often invited Ryan to hang out

soon they found out there's more to them than being a jock and being into theater

Ryan gave Chad a ride home every night (even though Taylor could just drop Chad off while she was going home herself, but she let them be)

sometimes, they went to the cinema, or to the bowling alley, or took long walks around the town getting to know each other better

everyone knew these were dates.

when Ryan and Sharpay got into an especially rough fight, Ryan didn't really feel like spending the night at Lava Springs, so Chad invited him over without hesitation

at first Ryan was a bit wary and thought Chad's family wouldn't like him, but they did, obviously

the sleepover went great and they felt like little teenage boys, having a pillow fight and gossiping, watching their favorite movies and eating candy until they felt like throwing up, playing board games and making a karaoke contest- you name it, they did it all

it was very late when they finally decided to get some sleep

Chad was about to head to his basement to get a spare mattress for Ryan, but then

"um, i can sleep in your bed with you," Ryan said, avoiding Chad's eyes "if you don't have a problem with that, of course"

he didn't have a problem with that

instead of going to sleep, they talked about everything and nothing for a bit more

sometime during the conversation, Chad's sweaty hand ended up on Ryan's, but neither of them mentioned it

they liked it, but they were too scared to do anything else, especially Ryan, because he was scared Chad was just experimenting

after that night, they were pretty much inseparable

Ryan visited the kitchen every morning and evening to see how the Wildcats are doing

but he wasn't fooling anyone, they knew he was there to see Chad

and oh my god the way Chad anticipated Ryan's visits and was excited about them every single time

everyone was sick of their mutual pining

also, Chad often invited Ryan to eat lunch together outside, and Ryan made sure Fulton wouldn't fire Chad for it, even if they were on off-limit areas sometimes

and then the baseball thing happened

and look, i'm not saying they fucked after the game

but they went to the locker rooms and exited with their clothes switched

so just connect the dots

anyway, after the game, they sat at the tables together and ate some burgers for lunch

they were really close to each other, their legs and shoulders touching and Chad leaning slightly onto Ryan

they were talking about Ryan's amazing baseball skills when suddenly Zeke and Jason walked up

Ryan didn't want Chad to get teased so he wanted to scoot away, but then

Chad wrapped his arm around Ryan's shoulder and kept him close, grinning at him

and it was probably at this moment that Ryan realized he's head over heels and there's no going back, no matter what

so he smiled back and leaned into the embrace

anyway, back to Zeke and Jason

they asked Chad whether he wants to join them in a 2-vs-2 basketball game

Chad smiled but said that he has plans with Ryan

which wasn't entirely true, they haven't made any elaborate plans, but Ryan just stayed quiet and couldn't help but smile - Chad just admitted to his jock friends that he wants to spend time with him

Zeke and Jason just looked at each other and exchanged some meaningful glances and smirks, shoving Chad's shoulder gently

"sure, have fun you two"

when they left, Ryan looked at Chad again, only to see him blushing furiously

"what was that about?"

"no idea, they're just being stupid"

Chad couldn't help but think about getting teased the next day for being very obviously into Ryan, but for now, he didn't care - he had a crush to romance

SEBBIE 🥹 omg thank you anon I’m so happy you asked about him

Favorite thing about them: he is so ditzy, but it is not like other ditzy characters you see in shows. I can’t explain it but it’s like, his tone and line delivery make it actually cute and fun to watch. He is just like, the sweet happy boy that you would never want to crush their dreams. I just love him!

Least favorite thing about them: that he wasn’t in s3 (an actual crime). But on an actual character level, I think that he tends to let Carlos walk over him a little bit. I know he struggles speaking up for himself, but I do wish he would tell Carlos how he feels a bit more because a lot of their relationship fights seem to be very passive aggressive.

brOTP: Kourtney and Seb (I’m obsessed with their scenes in S2, having her and him play mother and son led to a lot of scenes where their storylines shouldn’t have overlapped but they did- like the piano scene. It was just a really fresh breath of air seeing two unexpected characters interact)

Something I expect from them season 4 (if applicable): Seblos breakup 😬 probably over cheating (the worst part is because of the song they released it genuinely could be either of them or both of them or just accusations [what I’m hoping for, I hate the idea of them cheating])

Random Headcanon: (if this was ever confirmed ignore me but) I think Seb has a huge family. Like 12 brothers and sisters massive. That’s why he doesn’t have a lot of money and seems busy all the time is because he has to help on the farm and with his infinite spawn of siblings.

Unpopular Opinion: I alluded to this before but I really don’t want Seblos to break up. It was an injustice Seb wasn’t in s3 hardly at all and that he didn’t get many singing parts. I could listen to Joe sing all day, but if they’re broken up we lose Seb screen time. I also like them as a couple. Their off screen chemistry reflects on screen. They’re just cute!!!

Song I associate with them: “When I Look at You” by Miley Cyrus. I think this is genuinely because of him singing “The Climb”, but it’s the honest answer 😂 when I listen to it I think of Seb hahahaha

Growing up Lennon's parents never really had full control over their daughter. She was adventurous, finding herself in situations she didn't need to be in, the kid that always had teachers on the phone because she was getting into trouble.

She had nanny's, therapists to discuss her behaviour, you name it her parents brought them in to try and get her 'under control' and this was all way before she even hit her teens. Once the partying and staying out late came into play her parents thought she was the worlds worst child but she was just like anyone else her age.

However her spending habits became excessive when she was 18 and onwards she was shopping a lot and partying. She didn't see college as her thing so instead of getting a job that left her with a lot of free time and a lot of money of her parents to spend.

Her 21st birthday came around and instead of throwing her the big birthday bash she was hoping for her parents sat her down and told her they were cutting her off financially. Instead of getting a job like most would she looked at more creative methods of making a little cash and thats how the sugar baby life style landed in her lap.

She has had all kinds of clientele ranging from the bare minimum required to earn payments down to full sex. Those that do require her to go all the way she doesn't keep on board for long due to them usually catching feelings and wanting more but for Lennon it is simply just business. Those that only want to chat or meet up occasionally but still pay her she keeps around as long as possible.

At 25 Lennon made the sudden decision to move to New York. She never really gave an explanation for her choice but it was sudden and seemed perfect at the time due to her bestie already being out there.

the most she has made in a day from one person without having to do anything was 10k and that was for giving an old rich man attention over text

demi lovato hated lennon through their early 20s because demi thought lennon tried stealing joe jonas from her but the truth is she actually tried stealing nick from miley but selena beat her to it

she is still cut off from her parents financially and they don't really know how she makes money they just know she has enough to fund her lifestyle. they don't really ask questions either.

i find PWs very delusional from a narrative perspective because they have been telling you PW was going to end the minute it started by highlighting their different life stage. Gina’s brother calling him brother figure. Ashlyn calling Gina her sister and EJ her cousin in the same sentence. Carlos mentioning he is going to college (in front of Ricky). Gina basically saying "she didn’t get it" when he started rambling about college applications. Let’s not forget how season 2 started with EJ wanting to grow a beard and how the kids "all seem like kids compare to him now" and Gina is the same age as those he thinks look like kids. Now, there’s a huge dissonance between them because Gina is experiencing camp and a boyfriend for the first time while EJ is seeing camp as his way to end childhood. It doesn’t matter that there’s only 2 years of difference because their mind space is not the same. Gina is still thinking as a teenager with so many experiences left to explore and EJ is thinking he needs to have fun because is his last chance at being a kid. It doesn’t add up. PWs are ignoring all of these and paying attention to the wrong things. Instated of making senseless comparisons between Ryan and Ricky or Val and Sharpay, they should be talking about what the show is telling them and it’s not good.

yeah its funny that they call rinas delusional all the time yet they are some of the most delusional people i've encountered. they ignore literally every narrative plot point about pw not being compatible and they are constantly doing mental gymnastics to come up with the most random of reasons to ship pw and hate rina. whenever i read one of their posts i get baffled... like are they even watching the show. almost everything they say is so off base.

for example, i saw a post the other day that said if they break up pw for rina it would be stupid because pw know how to communicate. when have they shown pw are good communicators??? was it when jamie porter said gina thinks of him as a brother and instead of talking to her about it he thought it would be better to outright reject her, make her feel like crap about herself and cut off contact from her. at no moment did he communicate with her - they only solved the problem because ashyln talked to gina. if they are talking about the couch scene (literally only 1 scene in the show whereas rina has showed better communication in the car scene, the 'do what makes you happy' scene, the valentines day scene and so on)

and on that point they love to say ricky treated gina horribly in s2 and he 'made her cry' but love to ignore what ej did to her in the s2 finale and what ej did was way worse as it was deliberate. idk ej's reaction to the brother comment has always really rubbed me the wrong way because it almost feels like he discarded her because he thought he wasn't going to get anywhere romantically with her. say what you will about ricky but he values gina and he would always want her around be it as a friend or something more.

back on topic - pw shippers watch the show very selectively and ignore the very obvious signs that they aren't going to work out. honestly i don't really care if they ship pw (i just ignore their posts) but i'd rather they just say that they don't like rina instead of coming up with 'reasons' that rina is bad because none of them make sense. they constantly contradict themselves - e.g. shipping ricky with therapy, but being fine with shipping ricky with val or jet or nini.

if pws actually paid attention to the show and talked about what the show was telling them they wouldn't have anything to cling to for their ship. so instead of accepting where the writing is heading they choose to find a couple of generic shots of couples and hope that ricky is ryan and val is sharpay. its so ridiculous lol

i'm sorry this turned into a rant but the behaviour of pw shippers really baffles me, because i don't understand why people would be so rabid about a ship that has obviously been written to fail.

Review of season 4 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Let's get my criticisms out of the way, this list is short

1) It needed to be longer, not as in more episodes at the end because I'm sad it's over but maybe adding in like 3 more scenes where we are doing rehearsals for the musical. It's like a table read and then it's opening night, feels sparse.

2) Scream being saved for opening night was a choice, I can imagine it being used earlier for story reasons, it feels under utilized.

3) EJ has gotten better but doesn't realize that girlfriends are not something that can be "stolen" and he also still thinks Ricky was the reason for his last two break ups. Babygirl, look at your behaviour.

The good things? Literally everything else.

1) In season 3 I was joking around about Seb and Big Red being the only wildcats in town and that being Big Red's gay moment.

2) Speaking of Big Red I love that his name is still Big Red, I didn't trust them to leave it be.

3) I think Ashlyn should have gotten her girl kissing and still got to be with Big Red but not because she cheated, more like they just come to an agreement or something. But madlyn is good, no complaints about that, I just am attached to redlyn.

4) Carlos is that bitch.

5) Jet and Maddox just appearing is so funny, not a chance they would move like 3 days into the school year, iconic.

6) Mark and Spark perfectly captures the feeling of being too old for the new disney shows in like 2009 onward or whatever, it's very dog with a blog.

7) Kourtney has the best looks all season, the duck look for the movie, the orange, love it. Obviously any Sharpay look is going to be good because I am a Sharpay fan forever.

8) Related so nice that Kourtney didn't choose the fancy ivy league school and just went for the choice that made her happiest, that's what we've been needing for her the whole time.

9) "who the fuck are you guys"

Ricky and Gina the heart and soul of the series, they're so bad at secret dating, I can't believe that only Ashlyn guessed that. The whole show really was leading to this season for them, it's so good, they're adorable and so sweet together.

They have like 2 little problems and they overcome it and it like strengthens their bond and it's like, in season 3 people are saying "it's been a week why does Gina feel ignored" but that would be a preview of the future, the preview here is like working through stuff. Love their growth and how it makes them work well together.

Gina's choice to stay in Salt Lake not just for Ricky but for all her friends and the world she's worked hard to like, and it's so true Ricky just saw her as she was, he's the first person to accept her and it was good she said that.

I want to know if the tag was there on the prop the whole time, I am so curious!

Watching Barbie (2023) makes me realize just how ahead of their time the first 3 Emily Windsnap books were...

This series started back in the early 2000s, which loved to vilify feminity. By portraying women who act more feminine as either evil or idiots, both in fiction (Regina George, Sharpay Evans, etc.) and real life (Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian). Which drove many girls at the time (myself included) to openly hate all things "feminine" (pink, Barbie dolls, etc.). Basically a lot of internalized misogyny.

Had anyone else written Emily Windsnap back then, Shona and Millie would be shallow stupid bimbos with 0 redeeming qualities, whose sole purpose is to make the more tomboyish heroine Emily look better in comparison. Shona's Beauty&Deportment class would be a hive of cliquish mean girls meaner than even Mandy. Meanwhile Emily (and her mom to some extent) would be a straight up woman-hating "I'M NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS" girl who hates all things considered feminine with a burning passion.

Thankfully none of that happens.

Shona is both highly beauty-obsessed and book smart; her book smarts are extremely helpful and essential to the plot.

Millie in her long skirts and fancy clothes showed incredible medical knowledge (my personal headcanon is that Millie used to be a medic or medical student but switched career paths). From her hypnotizing Mary Penelope, to her safely reviving an unconscious Mr. Beeston. Also in Book 2 Millie shows exceptional courage by harshly lecturing King Neptune and risking his wrath, not because she's an idiot, but because she fiercely defends her loved ones. And throughout the series Millie always gave really good advice. Millie is always much smarter than she appears.

Emily's mom who competed in sports, and openly hates Beauty&Deportment classes, still likes wearing skirts and even T-shirts with "BABE" spelled out in sequins. She even gets a matching T-shirt for Emily.

Even the tomboyish Emily has fun at the Beauty&Deportment lessons. Granted it's more out of social pressure to please her dad and fit in with other girls (think Mulan during "Honor To Us All"), but still she was open-minded and clearly enjoyed it at times.

Basically these first 3 E.W. books were a much-needed "TAKE THAT" to the toxic "tomboy-girly girl" and to internalized misogyny.

TDLR; Emily Windsnap says its OK to be a girl.

I get the appeal with Troypay but here is why the trend “I shipped Troyella but now I ship Troypay” was actually the other way around for me!

Sharpay is a character with no development until her own independent movie and even in her movie the “development” was not done correctly.

I used too ship Troypay because of the FanFics for them! The fanfics gave Sharpay development they actually developed the points people use to argue that Troypay is better than Troyella. It gave both Troy and Sharpay the character development they would need to be with eachother!

I will be addressing the main point people use in the “Troypay Vs Troyella” arguement not all because again it all comes down to developments and arcs that Troy and Gabriella had in the movies and I could make pages and pages of analysis on this because… you guessed I don’t have a life.

Anyway, off topic the main point is that Gabriella held Troy back from his dreams and made her choose between her or his friends or his career.

She did not make her choose between her, his friends or his career in the first and second career. She made him choose between being an asshole and her. Then everyone else (including himself) made him choose between them and career etc. Then we get to the 3rd where Gabriella IS selfish but is not like “Yo I love you it’s either me or your career choose now” she breaks up with him so she does not have to be sad in the long run + so Troy and her would not be held down.

Plus Gabriella encouraged him to take things a little slower and think things through so he 100% knows what he wants to do in life.

Now onto Sharpay… She did not do anything for Troy in the first movie! The second yes she gave him opportunities yet would not take no for an answer and something bothers me too this day it was the golf scene in the second movie (Yes Troy should have been less stupid but honestly he already has good looks, theater talent and is a talented enough basketball player that Berkeley does not care about his height so you can’t expect him to have all that plus a brain) she was extremely disrespectful too not only Troy saying not and actively avoiding her but she also majorly disrespected Gabriella. Yes she gave him opportunities etc but in the long run it was not because she cared about him and was his friend it was arguably mostly for selfish reasons and selfish gains. 3rd one used the fact that Troy cared about Gabriella to get ride of her so she can pursue him. She was already gonna have a good music performance that would have gotten her a scholarship if she had not butted it in too pursue Troy.

Sharpay did not encourage him to choose wisely she pushed him towards something he was aleardy having doubts about and did not let her think.

Another point that I see is that Sharpay is the victim… Idk why that has to do with Troy but let’s pretend it does…

The first one I get! As theater kid the fact that Troy and Gabriella got the opportunity at lead roles without practice and after being late pisses me off. Yet she tried to sabotage instead of getting the role fairly.

The second… god I hate her in the second and the only reason I used to like her in the second is because of her song (it is a bop). In the end I personally believe she got what she deserved in the end with the Ryan betrayal. “She gave up her trophy to Ryan after being betrayed” she didn’t! She hoped in a choreography that RYAN choreographed and started singing a song that KELSI wrote. She did no give up her trophy she gave it to the rightful winners! Which yes is the development but it is development that gets flushed down the toilet in the 3rd and final movie,

In the end of the 3rd movie where she got sabotaged by RocketMan she arguably got herself in that situation. Lies and deception along with karma come back at you eventually sometimes it takes a longer time for the blindfold to be taken of sometime the blindfold comes out in the moment. Plus the whole Tiara Gold situation has happend to her multiple times in the first it was Kelsi, second it was Ryan an the third was Tiara. Which leaves you wondering (at the moment of 2008 before Sharpay independent movie which was cheap development in my opinion) is this development going to last or is it going to go down the drain in the end.

I need to add that I see both sides to the argument Gabriella did her fair share of stuff but in the end

of the day she arguably did more good than Sharpay and the “unfairness” to Sharpay was giving to her by others she did not try to sabotage Sharpay.

Gabriella stole her man… that “man” was never in a relationship with Sharpay plus he was never interested.

After a good couple years of thinking about this is the argument I got for you guys.

Tl:Dr:

Troyella is better in my opinion. There are arguments to both sides that I can state in the comments but at the end of the day the lack of development for Sharpay and Troypay in the movies and sussy actions from Sharpay overpower the decent things about her and the ship. As for Troyella the good things outweigh the bad for me.

OKAY FINALLY ABOUT CHLOE. last time i tried to write something about her it turned into frustrated screaming so ill try not to do that this time.

"i can fix her?" well i can accept her as she is, you don't like the murder? grow up. the atrocities are part of her and i think they're funny.

chloe is built for people to hate, everything about her- from her appearance to her personality everything is engineered to take as much hatred as possible like a punching bag. she's rich, spoiled, a bully, wears make-up, treats her friend like garbage, ungrateful etc. basically, the mean girl archetype you see in a lot of children's tv shows. either the opposite or the wrong love interest (shes mean go for your best friend who is not like other girls instead) to the perfect main character.

the important thing about characters like these is that there's always something charming about them. i can name pacifica from gravity falls, marsha from the owl house, sharpay from high school musical (if i spell any of these wrong im so sorry). you can trust that there will be a line they won't cross- and that there will be something important to them. once a character is fictional you tend to be entertained by their antics regardless of how unpleasant their personality may be in real life- because they aren't real.

the problem with chloe is that- she did have a line she wouldn't cross, things that she would protect- but they took that away from her for no apparent reason

prior to season 3, chloe, while still being herself was a fan of ladybug to the extent that makes me think this poor 14 year old has no idea about lesbianism yet. which in turn made her want to save people and want to apologise for several things that she'd caused.

other episodes in s2 that focused on her development includes her-

-wanting the approval of her mother to the point where she imitates her entire demeanour and personality

-being one of the first people to actively deny getting akumatised

-obtaining the bee miraculous - leading her to work in a team.

all things that lead to a possible redemption arc, right? you think spending an entire season dedicating episodes to her growth would've meant something right?

but.

the end of season 3 had her completely hating ladybug and willfully getting akumatised to defeat her. im not going into what happened - but it was.. really weird? especially because a season later they replaced her role of bee miraculous holder with her half sister, zoey, in the episode after the one zoey was introduced in.

you see, there was no reason to give a character a redemption arc if you're going to destroy it and give what gave her arc some meaning to another, "better" version of her character. there seems to be the misconception that chloe needed to change completely for her to become "likeable" but, she already was likeable to a lot of people in the fandom. hell, i still like her, like the red text earlier suggested, i think she's funny. you couldve used the bee miraculous and zoey storyline as a "who deserves to be a holder and who doesn't" thing, but not after an entire season of writing chloe into a possible redemption arc. not after the show confirms her as a miraculous holder. it genuinely feels like zoey herself was a preteens wattpad self insert oc.

"gave her chances but she didn't take it" arc could have worked as well, but it doesn't feel like that, it felt like you wrote yourself into a corner because giving chloe the bee miraculous was something marionette would've never done in the first place! because giving chloe the bee miraculous a se c o n d t i m e would'nt have made sense in the first place. i get that you can blame it all on marionette being inexperienced and too trusting, but.. god, this doesn't feel like good writing.

look at the season 1 ladybug fangirl chloe and season 4 chloe. season 4 chloe is a punching bag made by a fanfic writer because she's the most evil person in the world and season 1 chloe is a troublemaker. even if i dont really mind what direction they couldve taken her the very fact that she had so much potential but they just decided to make all of that mean nothing is just, so disappointing.

the holiday season is in full swing right now. i know i have been awfully quiet these past few weeks, but i was busy getting everyone’s gifts ready. everyone knows that this time of year has been resorted to who gave the best gift and how many gifts were given, so don’t worry, i have a gift for everyone.

the gift of truth. there is nothing more rewarding and giving than clarity.

it is no secret that our resident freeloader, phil deville has gotten himself in trouble with just about everyone he knows. everyone loves a good sleeping with the enemy story, but sleeping with your practical sister? i thought those old traditions died decades ago. my heart goes out to lil and chuckie; both of them seem to be losing their minds and the little gang of rugrats is falling apart. kimi, we knew you liked guys that were bad for you, but we never expected you to pick the weirdest and worst choice yet!

speaking of bad choices, our new resident slut, max dennison is making the worst ones. who knew a guy with no personality would be such a catch to the women of animania? it must be that new town smell. he claims he is head over heels about his ex, but has already fallen into the arms of resident vixen, daisy dubois. the best part is that her notorious ex charlie is too busy being a doting friend to our favorite ray of sun to even care or notice. we’re sure that has her all kinds of crazy, but not to worry; when her friend sarah isn’t too busy shoving her tongue down her ex’s throat, the infamous billy butcherson, they are normally seen together howling at the moon and plotting ways to torture the men of animania. oh no. was that supposed to be a secret?

kit charming is losing his touch. it seems our prince is cheating on his fiance with his mystery woman, who we all know is a certain maid around the charming estate and he probably thinks he will be able to follow his heart and live happily ever after; wrong! there is already rumors circulating that daddy is pissed and that he is going to find him a newer, richer, fiance as soon as this one is over with. who could this new woman be? stay tuned with to find out! all i have to say is...shame on him. so much for princely.

things are as dysfunctional as ever in the house of hades. harold is too busy trying to win his ex back that he is neglecting his sons, especially poor paul. he is clearly spiraling onto the stiff stick of claude cogsworth to ease the neglect. harold is so blind to his ex’s darkening shadow that he can’t even see that she is sleeping with the resident skeleton man. she’s moved on, so it’s your turn too. while he is failing to take the hint, meg is failing to take the more obvious one. i don’t even have to bother linking the video of her french beau sucking the face of a familiar redhead, because it’s already all over the internet. between hooking up with her and our resident star, sharpay evans, he has made it more than clear that keeping his stiff rod in his pants is not something he can do. the only one who looks pathetic and weak at this point, is meg. it’s so sad seeing the former damsel in distress turning into that girlfriend. i never thought i would see such a strong woman become such a laughing stock so fast.

now, onto some good news! it is wendy darling’s birthday today, so naturally, i have an excellent gift to give her; evening the playing field. everyone thinks that tiara is one of the innocent players in this game, but she isn’t. in fact, while she has been pining over peter, she has also been sleeping with his best friend nibs as well. hope you like the gift, and may it bring you some clarity. it seems like tommy pickles is out of the game now too, since he has been spotted with a certain crimefighting redhead. anything is possible, right? i should warn you though, wendy. the pacifica northwest has entered as a new player for peter’s heart, so better seal that deal quickly. can’t wait to see how rosie leads this friendship support meeting! maybe she can pine over another man not interested in her in the process. and michelle? being so blind to the fact that the lost boy she gets all giggly over is not into her is just...so michelle of her.

before i wrap this up, i would like to give a personal shout-out to willow vanderquack. congrats! nothing worthy to report and being the only person capable of figuring out who i am is lost on you entirely. i have to give you the flowers you deserve.

During the recap Kourtney says she's like a genie. I've been really wanting them to do Aladin and apparently, it looks like they might. I really just want to her Ricky or EJ sing Proud Of Your Boy

Kourtney's anxiety started acting up the moment she got the text.

It's totally Ashlyn and Big Red backstage that dropped the bag. I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Ricky automatically assuming Nini was going to say something bad about the moment they had makes sense. Every other experience he had with her about talking about a moment hasn't gone well.

I love how Gina brought her cupcakes again

Again I really wish we saw some Seb and Ricky and Troy and Sharpay scenes.

SEB SLAYS SO HARD

When Ricky see's his mom in the audience with Todd he's not just thinking my mom brought her boyfriend. He's thinking about everything. Once you start panicking you tend to spiral and it leads to everything else that made you panick or that's happened before. He's thinking wow this relationship is more serious then I thought, its been only a month, they started dating two weeks after the divorce or did they meet before that. IS he the reason she stayed in Chicago. My mom lives in Chicago. She wanted to get away from me. Gina is living somewhere else. I have confusing feelings for two people. etc He started spiraling and panicking. To top that off he's not only on stage he's in the air with perfect view almost the entire crowd and he froze. Everyone is looking up at him and he can see that they are, that wouldn't calm someone down that would make them feel worse because now everyone's eyes are on him while he panicks and spirals. He somehow manages to bring him back to reality a bit to say his cue line but he is already shaking and having a hard time breathing. He's shaking so bad he loses his ball and since the choreo in centered around it he freezes again and doesn't know what to do. Then in this frozen moment is when he properly takes it in. Oh I'm in front of an audience and they saw all that which makes panic more to the point where the safest and right thing for him to do right now is get off stage. Which he was completely right about by the way. Sometimes staying where you are doesn't actually help if we were to have stayed he would've had a full on panick attack on stage.

Ricky immediatly thinking something bad happened to Nini

Ricky going to EJ shows that he now trust EJ enough to go to him. He trust that EJ can do a good job for Nini. While literally panicking he pushes his own feelings down to focus on someone else probably because he probably feels she's more important then his own feelings. The shirt is literally an offering between them is not only for EJ to do the part but to make mends, it's a peace offering and EJ takes it after some small hesitation

Ej seems genuinely confused by Ricky's offering he can tell something wrong and asks if he is sick because he can see it, then gets confused when Ricky start spiraling about Nini deserving better then him on stage. Which makes sense he has no idea what's actually going on. But also at this point he has come to understand and see that Ricky was the best option for Troy and why exactly that is. So Ricky getting down on himself makes no sense to him. Ricky in general has never actually made sense to him. I think this scene probably made him truly realize that Ricky wasn't the person he believed to be. He saw him spiraling and decided to do the part, I don't think what Ricky actually said convinced him because he seemed genuinely confused by all of that. I think he saw the shirt as a peace offering as well.

When he says "Lets do this" It's said confidently for the cliff hanger but I think that was more of him trying to boost himself up more.

Hi! Be prepared for spam. You've been warned :)) This is not an ask you usually get (most of them are pws or rinas from what I saw). I will divide this ask in separate ones bc one is just a fun theory that I know will never happen on the show (yes, why not talk also about things that are unlikely to happen just for fun) and the others are more realistic (a part of EJ's arc is included in this one).

The asks will be based on this premise: Let's say EJ figures out where he wants to go to college (and is 100% sure that he wants to go there) when it's too late for him to go the next fall, so he has to take a gap year. And for the fans that are calling him a loser if that happens, try to look at this thing this way: to me, at least, this will be a really good story to tell, especially with a character with that gpa and extracurricular activities. I have friends (just like EJ, with really good grades) who made rushed decisions about their future and went to a college (they weren't sure, but they were afraid to take a gap year) and stayed there 1-2 years and they dropped out when they realized what they wanted. I think it will be a good lesson to teach teens (who feel this pressure bc of their choice about their future) that it's ok to take a gap year and it's not the end of the world if that happens. It's better this way than making a rushed decision, then going to a college and clinging to staying there bc you'll feel like you lost even more time and end up feeling even worse and loosing more time. So, I think this will be the best way to keep EJ in the show (and keeping him still as a main character by making him help the drama department at EH, just like Sharpay did and that will be a nice callback). I am all for the idea of him pursuing a career in film directing. We see a little glimpse of that in s2 (I hoped for more but I won't blame the writers like many ppl do in this fandom bc I can see why they make some decisions (for example they have to parallel the characters life with the story told in the play; that's why they went the pw route this season and they focused on this so much; EJ is extremely similar to the beast and Gina parallels Belle's story of being away from home, and together they parallel that love story; you will see that I am not a pw from the next asks (that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy some of their moments, it just didn't click for me, that's it), but I like to see things as they are: that's why one ask will contain a theory that won't happen, it's pure delusion and I admit it), even though I would like to see different things. Ppl in this fandom should chill with the mean critics about the show, like they can tell their opinion without insulting these people's work).

Continuing with the EJ's career idea, another reason I see this happening is that he sees the talent in ppl easily (you can see that with Nini (like he believed in her soo much, he saw the potential in her when the prev drama teachers didn't), also with Carlos in the characters intro for s1: "He can srsly move"). He really enjoyed being behind the camera in ep 2x5 and according to Gina the video was really good and had emotionally impact. I would've liked for that plotline to get more focus in s2 and it feels like they will revisit it in s3 (and I really hope this will happen) with Channing (most likely) and also, maybe, with Maddox.

What I want from his arc is to figure out what he wants to do with his future and find a balance (he doesn't have to exaggerate with the ambition like he used to, but also, we should see him having a dream and going after it while also having meaningful relationships with the wildcats). I know the show seems to go more in the direction with the relationships, but I think it should go towards the balance. The character has potential to go to a great college. I really hope they won't make him stay local bc he decides he wants to be close to his friends, like friends will be there when you come back and internet exists, but your dreams are important too and esp when you have such a great potential it will really be a waste. What I like about this character is his passion (about theater and we can talk about him in the relationships too). When he's passionate about sth or sb, he gives 200%. I think it will be a waste for him to not have a storyline about having a dream. Until now, the pb with his character wasn't his ambition, it was that he exaggerated with it and he started to do bad things when doing the right thing wasn't enough. I want to see him in s3 to figure what he wants to do next and where he wants to go (I have a headcanon that he goes to NYU (this University was referenced in the show, also Miss Jenn has a mug with I <3 NY on her desk in some scenes, also during the second chance sequence)). Then, in s4 (and s5 if they get one) to work to get into that college (take some courses about film making; as I said, he can help with the drama department; he even can make a docuseries about the play/s they will do (imagine him being the guy behind the camera, it would be so funny); or he can make a short film about how much the wildcats mean to him, his found family (this will be a great way to tie together both of his arcs)). If I were in the writers room, that's what I'd do with his personal arc.

Honestly, this character has so much potential and some ppl in this fandom are sleeping on him bc of ship wars and all they want is for him to leave. If the writers want, they can make his journey interesting without wasting his potential and still keeping him around as a main character (for the rest of the series; I don't see this show having more than 6 seasons, ending with a summer one, or ending with 5 seasons with the s1-2 juniors graduating).

i’m going to be entirely honest rn and say that tumblr scrapped my answer when it was basically ready to post so this is probably not going to be as good as my original answer...

but omg thank you for the ask anon! it’s definitely nice to talk about something besides the main ship war going on with this show rn haha. (especially when i’m not in love with either ship) i’m probably going to answer them all separately bc they’re long, but ahhh i love a good long ask moment truly. let’s get into it!

idk if you read my mind or my posts about the fact that by the time season 3 starts there’s no way ej could still realistically be in the process of selecting a college for the fall, but thank you for that regardless haha. (decision day is may 1st, so unless it’s a waitlist admission... he should KNOW by then, and probably even if it were a waitlist he should know, depending on how early/late in summer camp is) i don’t think him taking a gap year and preparing for his future path would necessarily be a bad idea truly- in the sense that even if he knows what he wants by this point, that maybe it’d be good to take a breath first? like you say- a lot of high achievers burn themselves out with college, so maybe if they have ej and val chat and the way she talks about college being a lot kind of adds to that notion for ej of oh okay yeah maybe i’m not ready yet?

nyu could be a great idea- i personally remember back when we thought the menkies were going to be a big deal, we were sort of talking about the scholarship as probably being for ej, given he’s the one character that’s a senior, and he clearly wasn’t going to (and didn’t) get into his dream school. maybe that nyu theatre scholarship could be his path forward. but they didn’t go there and that’s okay i suppose haha.

if they were going to have filmmaking be ej’s passion, i do wish they could’ve shown it a little better in s2, but you’re right that they could work towards it in season 3. particularly with a docuseries being produced at the camp and having the cameraman for the docuseries being a character... ej could absolutely have some chats with channing and be like hmmm this could be something i actually pursue.

as to the ej seeing talent in others aspect, idk if you know this or not anon, but in ej’s original character description, (like- first round, big red’s got a crush on nini for some reason, original character description), one of the things that was said that he was going to be more of a producer type than meant to be the leading man like he’s been previous to the series. so they probably were going to do more with that whole aspect of ej seeing nini’s potential talent than they did.

ambition in this show can pretty consistently be seen as a bad thing, (except for with nini, but i think the reason she’s allowed / encouraged to be ambitious is because she didn’t ever believe in herself before), but you’re right when you say that ambition isn’t the problem with ej. the problem was how he went about it. ej’s a rachel berry type in season 1 in a certain sense for sure. ej knowing what he wants to do and working towards that goal would be really fulfilling for his character. because i’m 100% in agreement with you when you say that ej should be allowed to go to a great school for college. i don’t want to sit back and watch ej choose his friends (and/or potentially his girlfriend- but especially if it’s his girlfriend. to quote my dad, ‘there are girls at every college’) over his dreams. i know this show emphasizes relationships over ambitions, and having good friends is more important than anything else, but- in fairness... ej could make some EXCELLENT friends in college (ones who don’t have perspectives on him tainted by his past even), we just won’t get to see all of that. and like you say- they can absolutely stay in contact while he’s gone, plus they’ll all be there when he comes home to visit.

there’s a balance to be struck- between dreams and goals and cherishing your interpersonal relationships. i think ej can have both. and honestly- i’d rather see way less of ej on screen and let him have a fulfilling life beyond high school than to see way more of him on screen and have them waste his potential as a person to be able to do well for himself. is he really getting to traverse his own path if he just goes to the safety school in utah he didn’t really want to go to in the first place, or is that another version of being stuck like duke was?

also if they do the gap year (which idk if i necessarily anticipate, with how heavy handed disney usually is about College, but could be an interesting plot if handled well), they would have more time to show ej getting actually ready for college, rather than the Duke is EJ’s one personality trait and yet it’s still not as fleshed out as it could’ve been thing from early season 2. (i get what they were going for, but i do think it could’ve been executed a bit better.)

i will add quickly i’m very much team five seasons. i think it’s the best place to wrap up the story, though it’s definitely a shame the original four juniors probably won’t all graduate together with nini probably leaving the show after this season. their graduation is the easiest place to end the series without dragging it out too much. they don’t want it to go on so long it turns into glee. i know tim originally talked about wanting maybe seven seasons. (he’s also said five, but he def did say seven at one point.) and i think that could’ve been neat- but... i think five is more realistic at this point for a lot of reasons. i definitely don’t want this show to end in the middle of the school year though so i really hope they get a fifth season.

also- i agree that people could be nicer. 100%. both to those who work on the show and to each other.

never seen a more paranoid group of ppl than rinas did u see some worried about this new character played by kylie… i don’t remember her last name. i guess worried they’re going to replace sofia bc of the magazines description of her and worried they’re going to put her with ricky or a love triangle? idk i could end up being wrong but from tim’s interviews it seems the love triangles at least involving ricky and gina are over and i just can’t see it. at most she’ll try to be like sharpay with troy but it seems like she’s going to be a tiara (hsm3). and gina is very clearly the main girl she was the center the whole time in d23? here is what the magazine said and how kylie described her (what makes me think she’ll be a tiara more than anything)

I mean, I get the paranoia and fear. All we’ve seen so far from the main crew is the death sentence from end of season getting together. When it becomes a pattern (more than once), it can be concerning. However, I think that’s where rinas need to hold tight and trust what tim is saying. He has made a lot of effort to (without 100% spoiling) say rina is endgame. He’s said they were the plan, that the ricky/gina/ej love triangle is put to bed, and nini is gone. We know lily was terrible too but as ej said “we don’t speak about her”. I know so many people who don’t want to admit it (and that’s ok) but ultimately r*ni and p*rtwell were plot devices at the end of the day. Those ships were devices to move arcs, character development, and the story forward. If you take what tim has said about planning rina from the beginning and watch the way the show has gone, it was always supposed to be rina. All of their problems were supposed to happen so we could see them overcome those obstacles and eventually get together. The obstacles have been means to an end (the “end” being rina).

I think you’re spot on that kylie is a tiara character. We have to remember not every character is going to go through the exact same storyline as the play they are doing. There also might be overlap (for example, in s3 we saw Ashlyn and Kourt both take on “Elsa” type roles… wandering until they found what they were looking for and “letting go” of their past/fears). The show (hsmtmts) is supposed to be somewhat perpendicular to the play they are doing that season. NOT an exact parallel. Gina was originally supposed to be the “sharpay” in s1, right and nini gabriella? That was the expectation. But we know hsmtmts is the play with a twist. In s1, our expectations were twisted when rina had the car scene and we saw that gina was actually Gabriella. If anything, nini was probably sharpay. But since we don’t really have a “sharpay” type character s4 (maybe carlos), we need someone to have a Tiara. What a better way to defy expectations than to give the Gabriella of the show, Gina, a little understudy who tries to knock her out under her feet? Gina has been working for the spotlight, is a dancer, and is the “queen bee” of the show. All things Kylie used to describe her character. It would make sense for Gina to have someone pretend to be her best friend/lookalike and turn out to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing, because that throws our expectation on it’s head. It puts Gina’s arc to the test too. We saw her achieve balance at camp, but can she do that this season? Can she keep herself from reverting to 1.0 or 2.0? What a brilliant way of show writing on tim’s part because we can see if those changes from camp stay permanent outside of it.
