I thought of something but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I think it's petty, but anyways...
I noticed some writers upload their one shot stories in a multi-chapter style. It's like they're collecting it in one fic, but each chapter are different stories. I think you got what I mean.
So, I thought, what if they just upload it as separate? Like as stand alone? So that each one shot stories will be added on top of the numbers of fic a specific fandom has in AO3? 'Cause if the writers will collect all their one shots in one fic, its just counted as one, right? Unlike if one shots are uploaded separately, it will be counted as many as the numbers of one shots they've written, then the number of fics per fandom, in AO3, will grow, then it will be a big help with the popularity.
I know my explanation is messy, I'm having a hard time to use my words, but I hope you got what I mean.
oh hmm i think when writers do this, they just want all their dabble/stories in one place. it's a matter of convenience so they don't have to go set up a new fic each time (going through the steps of ticking a bunch of boxes, sorting out what fandom this is for, who the characters are, tagging etcetc) & not spend time trying to come up with a title & summary which can take a lot!

people who go through the main tags of big and tumultuous fandoms looking for new fresh good posts to reblog are essential to any circle. they’re like true hunter gatherers leaving the safety of settlement and braving the unknown wilderness to find food for the flock. they risk their lives every day and will come back with a few scratches at best and severe psychological damage at worst
