Netflix is blaming the Shadow and Bone cancellation on the strike because they want us to turn on the actors, writers and other workers who legit had to force this giant, multi-national company to give them fair compensation for their work!

Do not let them do it.

It's not the actors fault

It's not the writers fault

It's not the fault of those who password share

It's not the strikes fault.

The cancellation of Shadow and Bone rest entirely on the greedy hands of Netflix upper management and I hope suffocate on their hoarded wealth like a ham-fisted hubris story.

you can’t tell me that this cancellation by Netflix wasn’t at least partially motivated by the fact that Eric Heisserer, one of our fearless show-runners, was on the contract negotiating committee during the WAG strike.

Yeah, S&B may have been expensive—but it was a hit show with a cult following. A following so dedicated they even came out on mass to support the writers during the strike. We saw countless times during the strikes how petty the studios were—it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if this was just a lil bit of revenge

I've reblogged and shared a lot of other people's words about the cancellation, but I have yet to bring up my own.

I'm not usually a "light in the darkness" kind of person at first; the counterbalance is there for a reason, and if we're hurting then we're going to take our time about it, dammit. but the way this fandom has rallied has been amazing to be a part of.

we're trending on tumblr. we've got a petition with 10K signatures overnight. we've got people spamming every major streaming service and the netflix request form. we've got a donation pool going to rent a billboard in LA. we've got news outlets noticing our outrage. we've even got fans proposing that we do this ourselves.

and in the meantime, the creators are stepping up—we're making art, tiktoks, memes, fanfics, and edits to celebrate the grishaverse, to uplift the fandom and say that no one can take this from us.

if you can't beat the odds, change the game. our passion is beautiful. we never stop fighting.

'Lucifer', 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', 'Arrested Development', 'Family Guy', 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', 'Community', 'Star Trek' and 'Veronica Mars' are among the shows theat got cancelled but fans fought SO HARD that they saved them.

Why Shadow and Bone was Cancelled ⬇️

OK so this is one of the biggest questions i see asked in the fandom discourse about the cancellation of Shadow and Bone. It’s actually pretty simple, Netflix is a corporation aiming to turn as big a profit as possible. The reason the show was caned and the spinoff was not greenlit is that it was super expensive to make. Despite the good viewing figures, Netflix obviously don’t think the views justify the cost. Shows that got less views but were renewed are likely much less expensive. To make my opinionI still think its bull, because I’m sure netflix can afford it but they just want as much money as possible. I also want to say that while the show is not likely to be brought back because of common people asking a big corporation, there is always a chance, especially if we can show Netflix they will profit out of renewal.

Shadow and Bone

My dear friends.

I'm sure you've already heard the sad, sad, sad news. Netflix has cancelled the 3 season of our beloved Shadow and Bone and I'm devastated. As I'm sure you are, too, but I needed to share my feelings with people who will understand my sadness.

It's a great show and while I see now the 2 season is different than the books, mostly because it combines events from the second and the third parts in the trilogy, but it was still good and a pleasure to watch. It saddens me, and maybe even angers a bit, that Netflix has decided to stop creating this show. I'm even more heartbroken after I read Leigh Bardugo's tweet after the announcement. 💔😔

I don't believe the show should be cancelled, just because the second season wasn't as popular as the first one (or whatever the reason was). Many people loved it and it brought them joy. I'm an optimist and, despite what Aleksander said in one episode, I don't believe hope is a weakness. In my heart I hope that they will reconsider and bring it back. But that only can happen if they hear our displeasure.

A way to make that happen is a petition I found already a day after the announcement. Maybe it won't change anything and the show is not going to return. But I'm not going to sit down and just accept it. I've signed this petition and I'm going to hope Netflix will see that Shadow and Bone has a special place in the hearts of many people and we brings it back for us, the fans.

And I'm going to end this post on a positive note. I hope to post another fanfiction about Aleksander KiriganxReader before Christmas (maybe even earlier but shh! let's not jinx it). I already have an idea and I'm excited to share this with you. I hope you're patient with me and are going to read it, even though my last fanfiction was already some time ago.
