I saw @silurisanguine do this with her OC, Seren and thought, "hey that might be a good way to introduce the latest lil misfit in my band of Starfiend OCs." and by little I mean...well you'll see.
I'm going to put the Q&A under a 'read more' cut because this is long.
BASICS
What’s their full name? He doesn't remember if he's ever had a 'real name'. He's pretty sure he did, everyone get's one, right? but He'll never remember it. Instead he chose the name Frost.
What does their name mean? Why were they named that? Frost: a deposit of small white ice crystals formed on the ground or other surfaces when the temperature falls below freezing. He feels liek he should remember why he chose that name but can't.
Do they have any nicknames? He vaguely remembers people he worked with calling him 7-33. Many call him blue eyes.
How old are they? he looks no older than 30 but he is much older. Or is he? How does Unity work with things like that...;)
When’s their birthday? He doesn't know.
What’s their zodiac sign/element/birthstone/etc.? Do they believe that holds any significance? doesn't know and no he would not.
What’s their species/subspecies? Do they have any special/magical abilities? Human -> starborn, if you could consider that a change worth noting. He has all the starborn abilities and is fairly strong with them...though he doesn't initially remember them when he arrives in a new universe. It's...complicated.
What “class” do they belong to (for fantasy characters)? If none, what weapon do they favor? He favors blades and rifles appears to be a master with any.
What do they look like? 6'0" built like a linebacker/wrestler. Dark brown hair, strong jaw, wide nose, thick lips, hooded eyes, and pale skin with a warm undertone. His eyes are icy pale blue with no visible pupil. This is because they are cybernetic/implants. He catches lots of staring but I think it's less to do with the eyes and more the fact that he's damn handsome.
Do they have a face claim? No...he kind of looks like Sgt Yumi's cousin but
What’s their style like? Clothes, hair, makeup? He always wakes up with hair clipped to about 1/2" all over. He also always goes to Enhance! to change it as soon as he has the credits. This go around he went with a professional looking fade but he's gone full long hair in a bun and mohawks and everything in between. No makeup. He tries to keep clothes simple and comfortable. He does prefer v-necks if he can find them because crew cut necklines are constricting. He also prefers jumpsuits because it's less items to worry about getting dirty...
How do they carry themselves? What’s their default expression? Many mistake him for military with the way he carries himself. His default expression is a stone 100 yd stare, though if he sees something that entertains or delights him he might crack a small smile for a moment.
Do they have any physical ailments or disabilities? No. Appears to be in his prime and peak physical health.
Any defining features to their character? From the front it's his eyes. Any other angle its his size/build. The man is imposing when you first see him.
PERSONALITY
What’s their alignment? True neutral. Some would consider him evil, others would consider him a goodie-too-shoe. His only hard and fast rule in the starfield is no killing innocents. Anything else goes, so long as it gets to his end goal...just don't kill innocents in front of him or you're fucking dead.
Which one of the 16 Personality Types do they fit into? It would depend on the universe and what he ended up doing once he remembered himself. He'd also probably scoff at the notion, if not cringe, due to his past.
What are their hobbies and interests? Do they have any particular “favorites” (food, books, and so on)? he has what he considers the bad habit of collecting knives. He considers it a bad habit because he loses them every jump so what's the point? (the point is they bring him joy). His favorite food is a fresh plum. Much to Cora's dismay, Frost doesn't like books. He can't remember why but he gets really uncomfortable and anxious when someone tries to get him to read books.
What are they bad at? socializing. Horribly awkward. Has definitely been teased for being a robot.
What kind of things do they dislike/hate? Spacers. They find that lot vicious raiders and does not tolerate their presence anywhere. Universalism. He was raised under a very...unique (to us) form of Universalism and because of it he does not trust members of any universe. Popcorn. The kernels always get wedged between his teeth or caught in the back of his throat and it makes his stomach hurt.
Do they have any vices/addictions/mental illnesses? As what is left of his memory comes back to him each jump he gets deeply depressed and anxious. If anyone could get him into a psych's office they'd probably diagnose him with more but I don't se that happening anytime soon and I don't feel comfortable diagnosing him here.
What are their goals and motivations? Figuring out if he can get back core memories that appear gone. Getting the artifacts, making the next jump. Understanding the purpose of it all.
What are their manners like? Any habits? Around most he is quiet. Sometimes it almost feels like he talks in riddles. he's introverted and prefers traveling alone and working alone but will make sacrifices to move things along. He is polite with most, curt with those he doesn't feel deserves the effort. he's a pen twirler/tapper when anxious.
What are they most afraid of? Not remembering anymore
BACKGROUND
Where were they born? What was their childhood like? Frost was born in a rare universe unlike any of the universes he has jumped to since. He doesn't know what planet he was born on but he does know, though it's fuzzy, that he grew up in an underground facility on a planet with 1g. He was trained to kill and hunt from a very young age and used as a child soldier/assassin as his leaders needed.
What’s their family like? He never knew his family. Or if he did, the memory was taken from him. He grew up in a pod of 11 other child soldiers but they weren't really allowed to bond or socialize.
What factions or organizations are they a part of? What ranks and titles do they hold? He was raised by an extremists form of Universalism. They believed that God had chosen them to bring humanity to the stars and any who did not stand with them should be exterminated to make way for God's Glory. They were at war with the Va'ruun as well as the UC and FC. He was used as a child assassin until he was 15 when he was sent to serve as a 'groundpounder' in UC space as the Univeralists attempted to capture the Sol system. When he reached his late 20s he was chosen for the honor of traveling to Unity to spread the word of God across the multiverse. Something...went wrong with the device as he entered it...but he doesn't quite remember...sabotage?
How do they fit into their “story”? It was only after the initial jump that Frost had any real control over his story. He was always a tool for others to wield. The first universe he found himself in...he got into a lot of trouble really fast when he behaved the way he was trained and has since then tried to better himself...he thinks. None of the universes he ends up in make sense to him. Nothing is ever like his home. No one can tell him anything about the various chips and implants in his head or body. Many have never seen anything like it and insist they have to be anomalies in the scans. Someone once said they seemed to be made out of a weird metal that was unlike anything they'd ever seen before...and he's pretty sure that metal is the same as the artifacts.
Where do they currently live? What’s their place like? in his current universe? The Lodge in the room Noel showed him. It's really nice and he's afraid to touch anything just like every other time he's ended up there. Otherwise he's on a ship, currently the Frontier. It's cramped and old.
How do they eventually die? Depending on how you view unity...he's died a lot. How will he die die? Probably by chance, some lucky bastard getting a shot in while he's distracted. Maybe someone will finally figure out how to overpower him. But that doesn't seem likely, given how many universes he's seen.
RELATIONSHIPS
Do they have any friends? Would they consider anyone to be their best friend? He will come to call Doc, Fox, and Sam friend. he always likes Vasco. He doesn't have a best friend, Unity doesn't let him keep those.
What’s their friend group like? What role do they play in it? A rowdy, wild bunch this go around. They cavort with a group called the Liberated, made up of former Crimson Fleet members. Fox is a Ranger and a Vanguard, which makes Frost's head hurt. Doc is a historian who hunts spacers in her spare time. She's the one who found him, along with her partner, Sam.
What’s their love life like? Do they have any kids? Pretty non-existent and no. He's had lovers across plenty of universes but he's shy to talk about them.
Who do they look up to? Who do they trust? Look up to? no one anymore. He doesn't put people on pedestals, given what he can remember. He trusts his friends.
Who do they hate? Do they have any enemies? Spacers. Naeva Mora, he's had a lot of run-ins with her and they'll never get along. Commander Ikande, he thinks he's a wolf in sheep's clothing and something about the Commander reminds him of someone from his childhood. Lillian Hart, she reminds him of one of his handlers growing up. Matteo, he knows Matteo isn't like those of his Universe but when he tries to argue with Frost about 'true Univeralism" all chances at neutrality disappeared. He won't hurt the man, but he won't interact with him either.
Do they have any pets? nope.
Are they good with kids? Animals? He's been told he is, though they make him uncomfortable (both kids and animals). He's afraid he'll hurt them or scare them but kids find him interesting. Cora has lots of questions and when he briefly meets little Sophie she seems enamored by his eyes and isn't scared of his stone stoic face.

Do they play any instruments? Sports? no and no
What are some items they always carry? a knife, at least one suppressed pistol, a pack of spiced mealworms and a pack of water, a scanner.
Do they collect anything? Knives. He shouldn't, he's just going to lose them all but he can't help it.
What position do they sleep in? it's whatever. You can find him sleeping on his back like a plank, on either side, his stomach, sprawled out on a chair...he was trained to sleep wherever and wake with the first alarm.

What languages do they speak? English, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish. He doesn't remember learning any of them.
What’s their favorite expletive? Fuck
What’s their favorite candle scent? food scents like baked goods. A warm vanilla is nice too.
What songs remind you of them? Self-Destruction by I Prevail
Which animal would you say represents them? Tiger (lone hunters, strong, cunning)
What stereotypical high school clique would they fit into? He looks like he's be a jock but personality puts him with the freaks and geeks crowd.
What would their favorite ride at an amusement park be? they'd all be boring for him.
Do they believe in aliens? Ghosts? Reincarnation or something else? aliens, like sapient life? Sure, why not! To some people he's and alien so yeah. Ghosts? jury is out on that. Reincarnation? The starborn? Yea, he believes in that lol
Do they follow any religions/gods? Do they celebrate holidays? NO he is an atheist now. Never got into holidays, never really in a single universe long enough to learn them.
Which Deadly Sin do they most correspond to? Which Heavenly Virtue? Wrath. Diligence.
If you had to choose one tarot card to represent them, which would it be? Knight of wands
1. How does your OC feel about their full name? he likes Frost, it's why he chose it.
2. What do strangers notice about them first? If they see his face it's his eyes. Otherwise its his build/stature.
3. How does their social personality differ from how they act when they’re alone? It doesn't really? He's quicker to anger when alone because he knows most people don't like that sort of thing and/or he doesn't want to scare people. But otherwise there isn't a big difference.
4. How do they act around a crush? awkward.
5. Do they have a “tell” for when they’re lying? He gets really stiff and can't make eye contact. He was never good at infiltration missions back in his og universe where he was expected to interact with people.
6. What do they smell like? he doesn't wear scents because it draws attention but he probably faintly smells of gun oil.
7. What is their hair texture like? thick and straight.
8. How much jewelry do they wear, and do they have a favorite or distinguishing piece? none. he loses everything so no need to and besides that jewelry was always considered a safety risk by his trainers/handlers. Rings can lose you a finger, piercing can get caught/ripped out. Necklaces can be grabbed. Same with bracelets.
9. Do they have a word or phrase that they tend to overuse? I don't think he talks enough for that to be a problem. When talking with Doc he's mention "you sing" "they sing" the plates that sing" so....sings.
10. What is a weird quality that they have (ie their hands are always cold, they’re always hungry, they snort when they laugh, etc)? He's very quiet. His 'outside' voice is most peoples 'inside' voice.
11. What color do they look strikingly good in? Navy blue
12. How do they show affection to someone they love? staying close to them, performing lots of favors, smiles.
13. Do they make strong/frequent eye contact when they talk to someone? oh no, he will avoid eye contact if he can help it. He can do it in business situations but it makes him super uncomfortable. He was raised to never look superiors in the eyes.
14. What attributes do they have that are inherited from their parents or shared with their siblings/other relatives? ...not applicable.
15. Are their greatest flaw and their greatest strength related and in what way? (ie very caring and helpful but a doormat, or very observant and shrewd but often paranoid) I think so. he's a very diligent person, always making sure that the task is done right the first time and completely...which means if it comes to violence there will be no survivors to question. Or for non-violent situations it means the task will take much longer.
16. How has their childhood affected the way they view an aspect of their life (people, education, society, themselves, etc)?
-He are slow to trust anyone, unless that person can quickly show him a reason to trust them. Like Doc and Sam win him over quickly because they help him out of a really bad situation and are kind.
-His education was very narrow and specific so there's a lot he struggles with as he jumps/travels.
-He doesn't trust the factions, their leaders, or the various religious houses of the Starfield. Not even the Enlightened. In his opinion if they were true atheists they wouldn't have organized.
-He is often at odds with himself due to the large gaps in his memory. Whenever he wakes in a new universe he is left with minimal memories and it isn't until he starts finding the artifacts that chunks of his past start to come back to him. He has had lives where his first artifact came to him after living as a pirate for years and being horrified with what he'd done. His one hard and fast rule is no Killing innocents but he has the blood of so many on his hands from his OG universe and beyond.
Basically I envision Frost as potentially an OG starborn from the universe the artifacts were developed in. Even if that isn't the case, that universe figured out how to use the metal the artifacts (and I assume temples and anomaly structures) were made of and designed cybernetics and implants with it. He is permanently missing chunks of his memory because his handlers wiped it. And whenever he jumps Unity seems to wipe some away and block the rest, leaving only a select collection of memories and skills for him to keep. Proximity to the artifacts and those who've pulled them from the rock can help him remember. He doesn't know why.
He wants to be a good person. He doesn't know that he can be with the life he's led. He has definitely sided with the Hunter more than the Emissary because he felt less judged/more accepted. Even if the Hunter broke his only rule...he's guilty of that too.

Birthday Scottish actress Siobhan Redmond, born in Glasgow on August 27th 1959.
Please note wiki give her d.o.b as July 27th, but two other sources say August.
Redmond was educated at Park School for Girls in Glasgow’s West End. She then studied English at St Andrews University, it is here she started acting in student productions and is said to have been discovered by oor Makar Liz Lochhead. She went on to complete a one-year postgraduate year at the Bristol Old Vic.
Siobhan might not be a household name, but she has some pretty impressive credentials to her portfolio, her first roles were in comedy shows, the most famous being Alfresco in 1983/84 alongside an impressive line up that included, Robbie Coltrane, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Ben Elton, as seen in the first photo.
She went on to become a regular character in the 80’s series Bulman, as Lucy McGinty. Perhaps her biggest TV role was in the 90’s cop show Between the Lines as Det. Sgt. Maureen Connell, after this she appeared with Alan Cummings in the underrated sitcom The High Life, a link to another post today, in 1997 we saw her onscreen with Billy Connolly in an adaptation of Deacon Brodie!
Redmond took on a role in the Hospital-soap type series Holby City as consultant paediatrician and clinical lead of Otter Ward, Janice Taylor. Since then Siobhan seems to have reverted to playing the role of a cop again, in The Bill, crime scene examiner Lorna Hart in 14 episodes in 2007 and in Taggart in 2010 she was Chief Supt Karen Campbell in 6 episodes. Redmond has also provided the voice of Ollie in the popular bairns animated show Nina and the Neurons. More up to date shows include, Queens of Mystery, Amazon Prime series Dark Sense and the Excellent mini series Unforgotten. We last saw Siobhan last year in The Nest and Grantchester, while she returned to Queens of Mystery this year, which also starred the excellent Julie Graham. Prior to that, there was a BBC Scotland comedy pilot, Beep, which aired earlier this year, and the opening episode of the latest series of Midsomer Murders, one of the first shows to return to filming last summer.

Russia wants to build new aircraft carrier as the Russian Navy expands capabilities

Russia announced plans to build a new aircraft carrier, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolay Yevmenov.
The revelation was made in an interview with the daily Krasnaya Zvezda, where Admiral Yevmenov emphasized the strategic importance of such a measure to strengthen the country's maritime force. He added that the new aircraft carrier will increase the efficiency of solving various operational tasks.

"The issue of the convenience of creating a future naval aircraft transport complex has been addressed. Their involvement will increase the effectiveness of various operational tasks," said Admiral Yevmenov.

In April 2023, Izvestia, citing sources from the Russian Ministry of Defense, reported that the only Russian aircraft carrier, the heavy aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov that has been in repair since 2017, would be armed with the latest missile complexes and anti-aircraft artillery Pantsir-M to replace the older systems.
The aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov is still in repairs, with no forecast of return to operational service.
The ship will receive a completely new filling - a deck with a trampoline, a new power plant, cable routes, a take-off and landing control system for aircraft on deck, a navigation system. After the completion of the repair and modernization, Admiral Kuznetsov will serve for another 20 years. Kuznetsov was launched into the sea from the Black Sea Shipyard in 1982.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, the development of naval attack and fighter aviation is ensured by the re-equipment of modern aviation complexes of the "4++" generation (includes the Su-30SM2 multifunctional fighter) and the arrival of Ka-52K naval attack helicopters, as well as the creation of promising naval aviation systems of fighter aviation.
Highlighting the current composition of the Russian Navy, the Admiral explained the key role played by the brown water force, composed of warships designed to combine anti-submarine and attack capabilities. Notable ships in this category include corvets such as the Steregushchy and the Gremyashchy, along with small ships with missiles such as the Grad Sviyazhsk.

Admiral Yevmenov further detailed the blue-water warships, which include frigates, patrol ships and universal amphibious assault ships. These vessels are equipped to provide assault capabilities beyond the horizon, demonstrating the Navy's commitment to versatility and flexibility in various operational scenarios.
As part of the Navy's ongoing modernization efforts, Admiral Yevmenov highlighted the continuous development of minebusters made of composite materials. These mine hunters will be equipped with means of search and sweeping of mines.

If another country wanted to invade and take over the United States, it would be really easy to do so right now because a growing number of American soldiers is too fat to fight.
Blaming the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “pandemic” for the military’s obesity problem, the Associated Press (AP) reported that in the Army branch of the military alone, nearly 10,000 active-duty soldiers developed obesity between February 2019 and June 2021. Because of this, nearly 25 percent of Army troops are now too big to do their jobs.
The situation is not much different in the Navy and the Marines. Too much sitting inside during the lockdowns eating genetically modified (GMO) slop “food” has left servicemembers in the U.S. military in poorer shape than the average civilian in a foreign country where GMOs and other garbage are not part of the food supply.
“I could notice it,” said U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Daniel Murillo, 27, who reportedly spent “endless hours on his laptop” during the scamdemic while he chowed down on “cookies and chips in the barracks at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.”
“The uniform was tighter,” Murillo told the AP about how his body became misshapen during the plandemic.

If the U.S. military hopes to survive, it needs to start feeding its soldiers healthier food and bringing back fitness routines
Ever since the Fauci Flu began dominating headlines, the obesity situation in the U.S. military has only continued to worsen. Between all the “vaccine” injections soldiers receive, the junk food they eat, and the lack of physical fitness, the U.S. military has become a mere shell of what it once was.
“The Army and the other services need to focus on how to bring the forces back to fitness,” said Tracey Perez Koehlmoos, director of the Center for Health Services Research at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md., who led new research on the subject.
If military service members remain fat and sickly, as many of them now are, then they risk succumbing to more injuries and failing to meet the physical demands necessary for their profession.
According to Koehlmoos’ assessment, the U.S. military loses more than 650,000 workdays a year because of all the extra weight its service members are packing on, not to mention the $1.5 billion in obesity-related health care costs that are incurred by both current and former service members and their families.
For more than a decade, military leaders have been sounding the alarm about this trend towards obesity, which started long before the scamdemic. Again, it has a lot to do with the food being fed to service members and the injections they are all forced to take in order to serve.
Marine Corps Brigadier Gen. Stephen Cheney co-authored his own report on the subject, which arrived at grim conclusions.
“The numbers have not gotten better,” Cheney told participants in a November webinar held by the American Security Project, a non-profit think tank. “They are just getting worse and worse and worse.”
For the first time ever, the U.S. Army failed to achieve its recruiting goal in fiscal year 2022, falling short by about 15,000 recruits, or about one-quarter of the requirement.
The alleged reason for this is the fact that three-quarters of Americans aged 17 to 24 are not eligible for military service, in part due to being fat. Obesity is now the biggest individual disqualifier, affecting more than one in 10 potential recruits, according to the report.
“It is devastating,” Cheney commented, adding that this has created “a dramatic national security problem.”

Earlier this month it was revealed that the latest American military aid package for Ukraine includes a single HIMARS missile system, alongside many other weapons. The total worth of this package is around 100 million dollars. Other weapons do not raise that many questions, but why is the US sending only one HIMARS? Is it somehow special?

Ukraine is operating a number of HIMARS and equivalent systems. In fact, some experts say that while more would be better, the HIMARS Ukraine already has is plentiful to cover the entire length of the enormous frontline.
Of course, these systems get damaged, break down, and are put out of service in other ways. However, the US is sending only one now with additional ammunition.
Military expert Pavel Narozhny believes that this valuable addition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not an ordinary HIMARS launcher. “Most likely, this HIMARS came with something new,” Narozhny emphasized. But what could it be?
The obvious version is the ATACMS. Ukraine is already using ATACMS missiles and they are fully compatible with the HIMARS and M270 launchers. However, they do have different modules and the missile itself is significantly larger than the standard GMLRS.
HIMARS normally can fire up to 6 GMLRS missiles in a quick succession, while ATACMS is big enough to take all the space on top of the HIMARS chassis. Because of this different launch module, it is possible that the US is sending one HIMARS specifically prepared for ATACMS operations.
However, Pavel Narozhny has another guess. It is known from open sources that the Pentagon has contracted Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) weapons. It is basically a glide bomb, mated to a M26 rocket. It can be launched from HIMARS and M270 systems. The range of the GLSDB is reported to be over 150 kilometres.
“The main point is that it is very cheap. I think we are talking about 100 thousand dollars approximately. The GMLRS rocket that we now use costs 170–180 thousand dollars,” Narozhny noted. GLSDB might not be as powerful, but it has a longer range and should be highly accurate. GLSDB was developed by Boeing and the Saab Group.

What will Ukraine do with a large amount of GLSDBs? Well, their longer range will be useful to attack Russian routes of logistics, eventually complicating the situation at the frontlines. However, the effectiveness of this weapon in Ukraine would have to be tested and would depend on the number of munitions Ukraine would actually get. One special HIMARS wouldn’t do much.
And we don’t know for sure if that’s what the US is sending. It could be that the one single HIMARS is just a replacement for a broken system.

Latest News from SGT University: FMMT's Alumni Connect 2023 Event
SGT University Latest News: The Alumni Connect-2023 event that the Faculty of Mass Communication & Media Technology at SGT University organised for its students was a resounding success. At the gathering, alumni from various batches of the mass communication programme shared their personal stories about how their education and professional development at SGT University had benefited them.
The alumni talked about the many chances they had at the institution, including workshops, seminars, and internships, which helped them advance their knowledge and abilities. Additionally, they shared their triumphs, which gave the current mass communication students an idea of what they might accomplish in the future with the appropriate instruction and preparation.
The Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, Professor Sushil Manav, gave a motivational speech to start the programme. He gave the former students hope and motivation to pursue their dreams and succeed in life. He also counselled them to maintain contact with the school and stay current with business trends. This message was intended for both current students and alumni who could profit from the counsel and direction of seasoned professionals.
In order for them to acquire the proper instruction and training, the current students were also made aware of the most recent industry trends and changes. They were urged to take use of the chances provided by SGT University, one of the top universities for mass communication in Gurugram and Haryana, to hone their abilities and set themselves up for a lucrative career in the field.
A ceremony honouring all of the alumni students for their great contributions to their different disciplines was also part of the programme. Shashi Kumar Pandey, an assistant professor, praised all the students and emphasised the value of living an ethical life. He remarked, "We should give priority to social service," which is a crucial component of a comprehensive education.
SGT University will continue to periodically host Alumni engage programmes like this one to give graduates a forum to engage with their alma mater and motivate current students. In today's cutthroat employment market, networking and developing ties with individuals in the sector are essential, and the event provided a great opportunity to do both.

(You know I’m in too deep with a fandom when I start writing fics...)
Sonny Carisi is ruining my expectations of men and, much to my dismay, slowly converting me into a “legs” woman. So it’s no wonder I want to write cute fluffy stories about him. Except this one doesn’t start out so fluffy. Like no fluff at all. Actually a lot of mutual loathing. But hey, what’s the opposite of hate? Yep! Love. We’ll get there folks ;)

Notes: I love Carisi so much and Peter does such a fantastic job portraying him (and he's absolutely gorgeous to boot). It's hard to see Sonny as anything but a total sweetheart...But I wanted to try something a bit different. What if he and a love interest got off on the wrong foot and she was really annoyed by everything he did? How does that dynamic change when they finally start getting to know each other?
Hope you enjoy! It was a quick idea that popped into my head. I do plan on continuing it for a bit, so any feedback would be loved!
Chapter 1: Summer Hire
This is the point in your life where you’d probably hear a record scratch and a voice-over version of yourself would say: “I bet you’re wondering how I ended up here?”
Well, you suppose it’s not the worst thing in the world but it’s not the exact vision you had had for yourself when you moved to New York.
You’re a university graduate. You did a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in biology upstate and, after finding your calling as a teacher, you completed a Master's in education to top it all off. The affiliations and contacts you made there led you to NYC when a part-time lecturer position opened up in Manhattan. It is in your discipline and you only have to teach one course per semester. It’s your foot in the door, doing something you truly love. But, the part-time position also comes with some drawbacks. The classes you teach aren’t offered in the summer, and with a wage that pays you by the lecture, summer break essentially means your income comes to a halt. New York isn’t exactly a city to offer affordable living either. This means money is tight, leaving you with no other choice but to seek out some temp work.
And low and behold, a position at the NYPD’s special victim’s unit became your new meal ticket. Being a teacher already means that you have the necessary police background checks completed and you have previously dealt with an issue on campus that vouches for your credibility when it comes to confidentiality. You are hired no problem, but the downside is that the job is for a bookkeeper. And bookkeeping is the fancy term the NYPD used for “clean up the paperwork messes we’ve let accumulate”. But a job’s a job and it will cover your summer bills.
So here you are: It’s your first day as SVU’s “bookkeeper” and you were told to find Sgt. Olivia Benson when you arrive. You walk into the squad room and your ears are immediately overwhelmed by ringing phones and the sounds of chatter. There are detectives whizzing by, going about whatever it is they do. You hug your notebook to your chest as you try to seek out the sergeant among the chaos. You see a brunette head into an office and figure that she’s your best bet.
“Hello,” you speak meekly, as you stand at the door.
The woman spins around and greets you with a quizzical smile.
“I’m here for the summer bookkeeper position,” you continue.
“Oh, yes! Welcome to SVU. Let me introduce you to the squad.” Sgt. Benson leads you to the center of the squad room and hollers to get everyone’s attention. “Listen up, everyone! This is our newest member of the team. She’s here to take care of all the filing messes you’ve left around here.”
You hear a chorus of lighthearted groans and chuckles from the rest of the team as Benson gives you a pat on the back.
Just then a tall, lanky man comes lumbering in towards the two of you. “Really, Sarge? A temp?” he scoffs.
“Carisi,” starts Benson, sounding very much like a mom scolding her son, “you know just as much as everyone else here that we have a backlog of case reports that need serious filing”.
He shrugs his shoulders, raising his hands as if to say whatever, you’re in charge! before walking away and plunking himself down at a desk.
Benson shows you to your new work station and the mounds of filing that are in disarray. “Don’t worry,” she reassures you with a warm smile, “it just takes these folks time to warm up to new faces.”
But it’s too late you think as she walks past that Carisi guy. His arrogance has immediately put you off. Him and his smug attitude. You get the same kind of defiance from your teenage students, for crying out loud!
The days go by, albeit slowly, as you trudge through paperwork. You’ve familiarized yourself with their previous filing system and are trying to sort and stack to match it. It’s tedious work but overall, not the worst possible job. The one thing that does annoy you though is Carisi. You watch him around the office from time to time. He’s got a loud, boisterous voice that always lets everyone know when he’s around. He’s got that brow of his which always seems to be knitted in disgust. Even the way he saunters around like he’s some tough guy makes you feel sick. And he always stands there with his hand on his hip like he’s someone important. Not to mention how brash he is with everyone he talks to and how he’s always trying to show off his legal knowledge to anyone who’ll listen…and even to those who won’t.
On top of his general demeanor, he has not exactly been friendly with you either. He clearly hasn’t given you the benefit of the doubt and he definitely doesn’t consider you a squad member. In all fairness, you’re not really a part of their detective team, but you still see these people everyday. Most of them make an effort to be nice to you. You can even sometimes overhear him let out these little quips about the paperwork or he’ll refer to you like you’re not even there. Carisi never ceases to make your eyes roll or your blood boil.
About a month into the job, you decide you need to work late. There’s at least a year’s worth of backlog and you really want to get the ball rolling with the organization. On top of that though, during the day you came across a really big mess. Folders that have cases mixed up and they desperately need proper sorting. So, overtime it is!
Everyone had already left and it’s just you in your messy bun, shuffling through countless papers and files. Well, you thought you were the only one left…
But of course, in comes Carisi with that stomach-churning saunter and that grumpy face of his. You let out an annoyed sigh. How was he going to try to insult you this time?
“You’re still here, newbie?” he chirps when he sees you.
“Backlog of paperwork, remember?” you quip back with just the perfect amount of sass.
“Ah, yes, how could I forget? Very important job and all…” His words absolutely drip with sarcasm but you are adamant that you won’t let him get to you. So, you just roll your eyes and turn back to your work.
When he notices your lack of rebuttal, he adds, “Clockin’ some oh-tee, myself. Mighta missed a lead in somma these files from our latest case.” He rolls up his sleeves as he speaks, exposing his forearms.
You, too, notice how warm the squad room is. Damn summer heat.
“That’s nice.” You fake a smile, watching him from the corner of your eye.
He plops down at his station a row across from your work-space, stretching himself out as his long, lanky legs crowd out his desk space. Carisi glances down as if he’s about to delve into his work, but then looks back up and over to you. You feel his blue eyes boring into you from a distance. “Why the hell you take this stupid job anyway? I assume the pay is total crap.”
Your head snaps up to glare at him. What a bold statement. He knows nothing about you yet he has the audacity to assume that this job is worthless? He probably thinks you’re just some desperate girl who needs to take whatever job she can get. Nothing to her name; nothing of worth.
“For your information,” you punctuate the words, “the college courses I teach aren’t offered in the summer.” You wanted your words to be a knife and to twist them so as to wipe the smug look off his face.
“Yourra teacher?” he says, taken aback.
You’ve got him! Not so smug now! “Yes, biological sciences at one of the colleges here in Manhattan.”
Carisi looks genuinely shocked. His eyebrows are raised and he’s just staring at you. You’ve finally rendered the mouthy detective speechless. You would do a victory dance, but you wouldn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing you enjoyed it that much.
“Wow,” he states with a small smile, “that’s really awesome.”
A compliment. Wow indeed. But then you notice something. His normally knitted, grumpy eyebrows that you detest so much are actually softened and expressive. In fact, his whole demeanor has suddenly changed. He looks…kind.
“What?” You finally break the silence, still trying to put up the hardened front.
“Nothin’. Just neva knew that ‘bout you. Why haven’t you said anything?” he questions.
“You never asked,” you reply simply. And, before you can stop yourself, you add: “Besides, I’m just a temp.” You immediately regret saying it. It was a dirty dig, especially when Carisi was actually trying to be nice.
“Yeah,” he says, scratching the back of his neck, “Sorry ‘bout that...”
His apology hangs heavily in the air for a few long moments before you decide to quietly utter: “It’s alright.”
You both silently return to your work for another few hours. Eventually, however, you can’t see straight. Your eyes hurt and your headache is growing worse. Your glasses had slipped so far down your nose that someone may mistake you for a little old granny. Your hair is sticking out in all directions, seemingly trying to escape its bun-prison. It’s most definitely time for you to head home.
You look up to see Carisi totally overcome with fatigue as well. He has bags under his eyes from a hard day. You know his job isn’t easy and you can admit that he actually does take it very seriously.
You stand up and close the open file in front of you. Your movements release Carisi from his work-induced trance. “Headin’ out?” he asks.
“Yeah,” you reply. “Can’t take anymore of this tonight.”
“I should call it a night too,” he says, standing up and straightening his tie. “Uh, lemme walk you home. It’s real late and there’s creeps hangin’ ‘round at this hour.”
You catch his eye. He looks genuinely apologetic. 'You' from a couple of weeks ago would have said no way in hell. Heck, 'You' from a couple of hours ago would have shut him down instantly. But something makes you say yes. For some reason your gut is telling you to give him a chance – that maybe you had judged him a little too quickly as well. “Sure,” you nod. “Thanks, detective.”
He flashes you a half smile. “Please, call me Sonny.”
Notes: Unfortunately, society does a lot of labeling and judging based on very little information. Doesn't matter what job you have or what you look like. If you take the chance to get to know someone, you may be pleasantly surprised :)

Marvel fic rec - Loki x OC, Bucky x OC (1)
You guys I have such good ones for this rec.
After Class, by Team Damon (68k)
She's a clumsy but intelligent student who's a little late getting her degree, and he's a young but grumpy professor with a past he's doing his best to move on from. Neither of them expected college to be quite this interesting, but nothing ever goes exactly according to plan.
We’re starting with the good stuff, people, the real good stuff. You know how many shitty Student x Teacher fanfictions there are out there in the vasteness of the internet? A lot. I have seen things I wish I could unsee. But this one is not one of those. This one is the best, the single most beautifully written piece of fanfiction with this trope. I cannot stress this enough, I am in LOVE with this story. It’s just long enough to be in-depth and have flesh, but it’s short enough to read in one sitting. It’s my go-to sotry that I read whenever I feel down, when I’m sick and bed-ridden, when I’m stressed out because of my exams and can’t sleep. It heals my soul to read such work of art.
Team Damon is an absolute sweetheart too, a true wordsmith, and there are more of her stories that will make it into this fic rec.
Blasphemy, by SheWritesThings (76k)
For Sam and Steve, finding Bucky was the easy part. But now two distinct personalities reside within him: Bucky Barnes and the Winter Soldier. Sam decides to call in an old friend: Sgt. Fox, a young war veteran and amputee, having suffered PTSD herself. Dodging SHIELD and Hydra agents alike, the trio struggles to bring Bucky back and eliminate the Soldier before time runs out.
Another masterpiece, not the last one of this list. It’s the first installment of a series (ongoing sequel is here) but I honestly don’t think it needs a sequel, it can be read on its own. It has a prologue-y feel to it, but I love it. It’s the first fanfiction I read that deals so seriously and thoroughly with Bucky’s PTSD, and it doesn’t shove a romantic relationship in our face. The author must have sent HOURS researching about PTSD to write this, I cannot fathom how much work it represents.
It’s so good, so raw, it really stirs something in you. Also if ableism is an issue you take to heart, this story is a goode example on how to write disabled characters, it’s just perfect.

The Norns, fates of the Nine Realms, long ago chose a protector for each realm bound to keep order in their universe. Roska is the latest guardian of Asgard. When Odin asks her to bring Loki back from Midgard at any cost, she is set on a path of even greater importance. To assure Asgard's stable future, she must set the Jotun Prince on its throne.
One of those stories where you wonder how the hell this isn’t a published work. I can barely imagine the amount of research that went into the writing of this fanfiction, the world-building and attention to details is amazing. I have no idea just how much of what I read is inspired by true mythology and folklore, but it’s impressive still. More plot-driven than character driven. To my absolute sadness, it’s not very centred on the pairing HOWEVER it is one of the best Loki characterization I’ve even seen with my own two eyeballs (honestly Taika Waititi should take example).
Friends to Lovers to Complete and Utter Idiots, by Team Damon (39k)
They're just friends. The best of friends, really. But when she's secretly head over heels in love with him and he gets the bright idea to take their friendship to an entirely new and unexpected level, she knows she's playing with fire. She's already burning, though, so why not make it count?. Modern AU
Listen, I’ve rarely come so close to ripping out all of my hair, and I love my hair. The pairng drove me crazy. Team Damon just knows how to play with my feelings like nobody’s business. The title really says it all, but if you think it’s just another of the usual fwb story, you, my friend, are gravely mistaken. Because it’s more than that, it’s a jewel among jewels. It’s a diamond, alright? Read it, I swear to god, read it.

You know how the story goes: Fucked-up former assassin meets girl. Girl is a cliché vet with a tendency to help birds with broken wings.
I think the author says it all in the synopsis honestly. It’s just a fun, light-hearted Bucky fanfic. It’s a nice change from the more serious stuff, and it’s not too long so it’s a quick read, and it’s worth your time.

Sigyn has an overprotective brother, an overbearing mother, and an overarching duty to Queen Frigga as her handmaiden. She begins a relationship with Loki, Prince of Asgard and second in line to the throne. It seems easy, but fate has so much more in store for them than they planned. AU. Pre-Thor through Post-Avengers.
Listen, this is the one of the best fanfictions I’ve even had the pleasure to read. All fandoms mixed together, it’s a fav. I will defend this fanfiction to the death, I’ve scarcely seen anything so beautiful. The prose is amazing, the pace is perfect, there is a balance between plot relevant scenes and self-indulgent fluff, the characterization is on point (Tony Stark, however short his appearance in the story is, has one of the best characterization ever).
It’s 155k long but I find it too short still. There is nothing I disliked about this story, I could write a eulogy about how much I adore it, I could write poems and songs about it, I- well you get my drift. AND because the author knows how much her readership loved the story, we got a bunch of additional oneshots to quench our insatiable thirst. I’m not going to review each of them individually but they are all great, and you will cry actual salty tears, trust me.
Interlude:
Chapter "10.5" of Illusion - Loki spends the night with Sigyn at her apartment, and things get a bit uncomfortable for her brother Edmund.
Unburdened:
Sigyn has had a stressful day; when she threatens to never return to the palace library again, Loki uses his considerable skills to change her mind.
Celebration:
Loki arranges for a private celebration of Sigyn's birthday.
The Better Part of Valor:
One morning not long after beginning her relationship with Loki, Sigyn is late reporting for her duties with the queen. When Loki (who has everything to do with her tardiness) shows up to take advantage of her embarrassment, Sigyn is less than cooperative.
Best Laid Plans:
Loki and Sigyn attempt to celebrate their anniversary, only to be hindered at every turn by extenuating circumstances (especially their precocious six-year-old daughter, Unna, who has a terrible grasp of the appropriate time to show off newly acquired magic skills).
Threnody for a Sparrow:
It's a lesson Loki has never wanted to learn...there are some broken things that cannot be fixed, no matter how badly you wish otherwise.

Probably the vaguest, least helpful synopsis in the history of synopsis, but hey, I’m here to tell you that it’s fucking fabulous, and you won’t regret reading this fanfiction. It’s not you usual girl meets boy story at all - this time the meeting is not accidental at all, all of their interractions have one sole purpose: help Bucky become himself again. And it gives a lot of weight to their interractions, the story is very serious, but not so much as to give you a headache either. I love it because it’s different, and it takes things slowly, there’s a lot of attention to details too.

Second vaguest synopsis of all time, but trust me when I say that the sequel is even better than the first installement of this trilogy. I can’t really say anything about the sequel without revealing what happens in the first part, so just read it for heaven’s sake. I’m telling you, it’s good.

And last but not least, the third part. Equally vague synopsis. We officially have a top three guys. Haven’t read this one yet, but I wanted to post all three parts together.

Bucky didn't understand the concept of a coffee house giving away free coffee. From what he remembered, hardly anything in Brooklyn was given away for free when he lived there. And why wasn't the coffee house girl frightened by him when he struck fear in some of the most competent SHIELD agents? Learning to be Bucky Barnes again, he wasn't prepared for the curious coffee girl.
How the hell am I going to sell you this story?
It’s... a coffee shop AU. Except it’s not really an AU. It’s entirely set in the MCU as we know it, superheroes are totally a thing, everything is like the canon, but Bucky and the OC still meet in a coffee shop. It’s serious, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously either. It’s well written, like really. The OC is endearing, the pace is perfect for the story, the characters have a lot of depth, even the secondary ones get a bit of characterization. It’s a beautiful work all in all.

The Winter Soldier has a new mission. Erin Jefferson is a young SHIELD biochemist who has just synthesised a serum that can make anyone tell the truth, and HYDRA wants it. The Winter Soldier is expecting it to be an easy job, and Erin is expecting to die there. What she's not expecting is to meet a man with light eyes and a dark past who needs her help.
This is the funniest Bucky fanfic I’ve read, and it’s awesome. I’ve never seen such balance between light-hearted moments and serious, down-to-business ones. It doesn’t take anything away from Bucky’s gravitas, but it rather offers a stark contrast with the OC’s bubbly personality, it’s refreshing and beautiful. And it’s fucking funny, you guys, it’s hilarious. Additionally it’s one of the only fanfictions I’ve read as the chapters got published, instead of waiting until it was completed.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Bucky Barnes MCU History Recap

This Friday, Disney+ starts the next step in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spinning out of the Captain America movies, the series follows the character’s two best friends working together (albeit reluctantly) to fill the void left from Chris Evans leaving the series. One of these heroes is Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, as played by Sebastian Stan.
Bucky is an interesting part of Marvel history. He predates most characters in the MCU, created during World War II in Cap’s very first appearance by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby as a blatant Robin knockoff. When Captain America was thawed out and joined the Avengers, it was established that Bucky died in an explosion. It was mandated that Bucky would never come back. He was as permanently dead as Ben Parker and Gwen Stacy.
Then, in the mid-00s, Ed Brubaker took on the writing duties on Captain America and decided to actually go through with bringing Bucky back into the fold. It shouldn’t have worked, but it did. As we’ll get to in a second, it even got its own film adaptation!
So let’s go back in time and see the tragedy and triumph of James Buchanan Barnes.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
Bucky Barnes was the childhood best friend of Steve Rogers, a skinny and sickly guy with a tendency to stand up to bullies twice his size. Bucky was occasionally there to get Steve out of trouble. When it came to World War II, both Steve and Bucky wanted to do their duty and fight the Nazis, but only Bucky was healthy enough to enlist. Eventually, he reached the status of Sgt. Barnes.
Steve took part in a science experiment that transformed him into the pinnacle of human health. Unfortunately, due to the scientist behind it being assassinated, Steve was the only super soldier. He was used as a tool for patriotic propaganda under the moniker Captain America, but when touring in Italy, he found out that Bucky and his unit were captured behind enemy lines.
Captain America rescued Bucky and the rest, earning him a more hands-on role against the Nazis and the offshoot organization HYDRA. Cap led a squad tasked with taking down as many HYDRA bases as possible.

One of their missions involved hijacking a train containing HYDRA scientist Arnim Zola. While the mission was a success, Bucky was knocked out of the train and fell to the water below, his fate all but sealed. Steve mourned his lost friend, but soldiered on.
Captain America saved the world from the plans of the Red Skull, but in doing so, he ended up being frozen for decades. Thawing out in the present, he was disheartened to find that practically everyone he held dear was gone.
But not everyone…
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
The plot of the Captain America sequel dealt with the discovery that for years, HYDRA had infiltrated SHIELD and was using its resources to fulfill its own fascist ends. HYDRA’s heavy hitter was the mysterious Winter Soldier, an unstoppable assassin with a metal arm, long hair, and mask. During his early moments in the movie, he was able to horribly wound SHIELD Director Nick Fury and proved himself to be more than a match for Cap in hand-to-hand combat.
Eventually, the mask came off and Steve realized the horrible truth: Bucky didn’t die in that fall during the war. Instead, HYDRA got their mitts on him, replaced his damaged arm with a metal one, and brainwashed him into becoming the ultimate killing machine. He would remain frozen for years at a time, only to be thawed out for special missions. To make matters worse, he had no memories of being Bucky or serving for the US.
Still, the Winter Soldier understood that Captain America recognized him and that put some cracks in his conditioning. He was once again mindwiped to fight for HYDRA and seemed to be all-in on his mission. He and Cap fought on a SHIELD Helicarrier and the Winter Soldier even succeeded in shooting him. An emotionally weary Cap decided he was done fighting his friend, even though the assassin kept angrily punching him and egging him on. As the base exploded around them, Cap weakly told his nemesis that he would be with him, “’til the end of the line,” a quote from happier times in their past.

Bucky’s wordless response was that of realization, confusion, and sadness. Steve’s body fell out of the Helicarrier and into the water below. Though still confused, Bucky knew enough to dive in and rescue this man who seemed to give a damn about him. He brought Steve to safety, then wandered off alone.
Sometime later, Bucky visited a museum. At a display about Captain America’s World War II exploits, the confused assassin read about his own identity with a look of wide-eyed intensity. Elsewhere, Steve and his new friend Sam Wilson – The Falcon – were dedicated to tracking down Bucky and giving him the help he needed.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
With only two people out looking for him, Bucky was able to keep to himself and stay hidden with little problem. Then Helmut Zemo – a man with a deep hatred for the Avengers – framed Bucky for an explosion at the United Nations. One of the casualties was Wakanda’s King T’Chaka, causing his son T’Challa to suit up as Black Panther so he could hunt Bucky down and unleash his vengeance.
At the time, the Avengers were dealt a blow with the Sokovia Accords, which mandated that all superheroics had to be under the thumb of the world’s governments. Though Captain America and Falcon stepped down due to their refusal to sign on, they knew that they were the best option to bring Bucky in without casualties on either side. As they tried to catch Bucky, a furious Black Panther appeared and complicated matters. Eventually, all four were arrested and taken into custody.
Zemo infiltrated Bucky’s cell and read off a series of secret words that would trigger him into once again becoming the brainwashed killer. The reborn Winter Soldier ran amuck through the facility, but was eventually taken down by Captain America and Falcon, who were able to escape with him. Held captive by the two heroes, Bucky was able to prove to Steve that he finally remembered their history together. He also explained that once upon a time, he was put in charge of training a small army of fellow Winter Soldiers who were being kept in stasis in Siberia.

Due to the Sokovia Accords complications, Cap was stuck having to face those who were for government oversight and were therefore tasked with taking him in. A massive battle took place with one side featuring Captain America, Bucky, Falcon, Hawkeye, Wanda Maximoff, and Ant-Man while the other team was made up of Iron Man, War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther, Vision, and Spider-Man. In the end, Cap and Bucky were able to escape, though their comrades were defeated and apprehended.
Iron Man became aware of Zemo’s master plan and chose to work with Cap as an ally. The three prepared to face the Winter Soldiers, but found them all killed by Zemo. The true reason Zemo brought them together was to show them footage of a brainwashed Winter Soldier coldly murdering Iron Man’s parents Howard and Maria Stark in the name of HYDRA in the early 1990s. Overcome with rage, Iron Man tried to kill Bucky, only to be defeated by a protective Cap.
At first, Bucky helped Cap spring the others free from prison, but he knew he was too much of a liability due to all the HYDRA programming in his brain. Until he was free of that threat, he needed to be kept on ice. Prince T’Challa, having accepted that Bucky wasn’t behind the death of his father, took him in and promised to help cleanse his mind.
BLACK PANTHER
In the post-credits scene, Bucky was shown having lived peacefully in Wakanda, given the nickname “White Wolf.” T’Challa’s sister Shuri found success in freeing Bucky’s mind, but said there was more for him to learn.
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
The cosmic villain Thanos was bent on obtaining the six Infinity Stones and gaining ultimate power. One of the Stones was located on Earth and the last stand to protect it took place in Wakanda. Outfitted with a brand-new arm made from Wakandan technology, Bucky returned to action. Reuniting with Steve, Bucky took part in the battle to protect the Mind Stone. The main highlight involved him teaming up with Rocket Raccoon in the midst of the chaos.

Sadly, Bucky’s latest mission was a failure. Thanos was able to gather all six Infinity Stones and snapped his fingers. A confused Bucky fell over and turned into dust upon hitting the ground. 50% of the universe’s population was wiped out due to Thanos’ belief that was the wisest way to prevent overpopulation.
Faced with the reality of this epic loss, Steve could only sit and say, “Oh God…”
AVENGERS: ENDGAME
At first, Thanos was able to destroy the Infinity Stones to prevent anyone from undoing his wish. Then the Avengers realized that they could gather the Stones via time travel and wish everyone back. Having succeeded, this soon led to Captain America, alone, staring down Thanos and his entire army. Luckily, he had plenty of allies after all. Portals opened all around and warriors from Wakanda, New Asgard, space, and so on stepped through. This included the resurrected Bucky.
In the end, Iron Man gained access to the Infinity Stones and wiped out Thanos’ side with a snap of his fingers. Sadly, this move killed Iron Man. Bucky was seen showing his respects at Stark’s funeral.
Shortly after, Captain America had to use the time machine to return all the Infinity Stones to their places and times of origin before they were snagged. He said his goodbye to Bucky, who seemed to have a good idea of what his old friend was up to.

Rather than reappear on the time machine when his work was done, Steve remained back in the era of World War II, creating a new timeline where he returned to be with the love of his life, Agent Peggy Carter. The two were married and while the details of Steve’s new life are unknown, he made sure to return to his original timeline by the time he was an old man.
Sam Wilson found the elderly Steve waiting for him on a bench with a new shield in hand. Steve handed it off to Sam, christening him the new Captain America. Despite having his own issues with Sam, Bucky fully supported the decision.
Now Bucky is in an interesting place. He’s cured of his brainwashing and can live his life, but what kind of life is there for a man like him? Especially since Steve is out of the picture.
