240405: no specific question asked, just let the cards come out as they wished, but we are describing a king of pentacles / king of wands who's worked through some past wounds, as well as some advice for them
no photo of the cards today, i forgot to take one :(

if you look hard enough, you'll see love in simple things:
getting up early for coffee; a free sticker with each drink; an iced latte not-too-sweet; excitement for your new glasses; video game talk in the car; an everything morning shower; heaven by mitski; a plan for sushi lunch; afternoon coffee; slowly becoming a regular; oat milk and the barista's favorite; the collected poems of emily dickinson; the myth of sisyphus; fragments of; one line poetry; bad poetry; heartfelt poetry; poetry with shit structure; but it meant something; to someone somewhere; because it was made with love you know; so of course it means something;

i gave you things i should have made you beg for,
but someone else will come along, as guaranteed as the birds sing in april and the sun shines brighter in may,
and some souls that do will fall to their knees, awe-struck, knowing the worth of a human heart, while some others, they'll be like you...
but someone else will come along, someone else always does, as guaranteed
as my heart falls in love and i scream about it to the world.

i'm telling the stars tonight
about you, again, and i'm sure:
they see my mouth open and
roll their pearly eyes, because
they know whose name will slip past
and what dreams, fantasies i have
about nights like these, together,
that keep me going into early hours,
losing sleep over pictured timelines
and plush pillow talk, tangled legs,
wrapped arms, or even frisky fingers
finding their way around, prolonging
an already warm, sleepless night—
i open my mouth, and the stars jeer;
iridescent eyes roll, tired of the same spiel;

could i, a devil in my own right, tempt you to come this way?
whisper to me vagaries you keep, reserved only for the late night
when you twist and squirm in succulent spring heat— sleepless;
a sweet pink, those stirrings must be as they plague your restless mind—
i, a succubus in my own right, could release you, eat them from you;
you need only let out a sigh, and succumb to the night.

i am not here at the kitchen sink, instead letting muscle memory wash the dirty dinner plates;
nor am i here under the shower head, instead letting water slip past the oil of my thin hair;
not since the reckoning have i been present here, now caught between worlds,
where you are there, and i am here, and somewhere, we are or, we might be.

i often wonder who the You is in a love poem, or in a few of someone's honeyed half-words or fully honed pieces;
who are, or were, they, and what sparked flames so intense to inspire such aureate— how do they take their coffee? what do they look like under twilight? what words do they spin to captivate the hearts they so have?
those are the places where we find who they might be, what fantasy may exist, because those are often the places where we tend to fall in love, i think;
so i want to search those places— to see the degree of the burn left, or the overflowing cup that some pour for their lovers;
not to fulfill some divine plan, or to fuel the jealous beast in me— only simply to understand, because if you had written for such a love, then it will always be worth understanding;

were we apple trees in another life, planted side-by-side in the orchard where we grew strong together, and where our roots dug deep to keep us both on the earth for as long as the other lived, and where they tangled themselves, binding one to the other, forever?
