dearest anon, this is such a soft and sweet thought 🥺 i apologize that it’s taken me a few days to get to! i’ve been in a bit of a writing slump, but hopefully i was able to do your idea some justice! 🫶🏻 (wasn’t planning for this to be so long, but i got a little carried away)

You were curled up in bed next to Bradley. No matter how hard you both tried, sleep just didn’t seem to come, so you wasted the night away by talking about anything and everything in between. You absent-mindedly trailed your fingertips across his chest and up his neck as you listened to his voice float through the darkness. Occasionally letting your touch linger along the raised lines that decorated his skin.

There was a lull in the conversation when you decided to ask him a question you had long kept to yourself. “Bradley, can I ask you something?” “You can ask me anything, sweetheart.” The hand he rested on your hip gave you a little reassuring squeeze. You tried to think of how to phrase the question delicately. “Even though we’ve been together for quite some time, you’ve never really mentioned your scars. Could you – maybe – tell me about them?”

Silence filled the air once again; you hoped you hadn’t just overstepped. Bradley’s mind was racing. Suddenly memories from his past were flashing before his eyes. Sports injuries from his childhood, that car crash from his early twenties, numerous accidents from training sessions and missions gone wrong. Sure, he had learned to live with them, but every time he looked in the mirror, they were constant reminders of his failures.

When his response didn’t come, you started to pull your hand back to yourself. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t ha-” “No, no. It’s okay. I’ve just never cared much for them. Not really my greatest features if you ask me.” He let out a small, breathy laugh in an attempt to cut through the tension he had created, but you could sense his unease. “They’ve always been pretty fascinating to me,” you spoke gently, “they make you who you are. They make you Bradley. Like little mementos from all the past versions of yourself.”

You shifted so your lips could reach his face, pressing warm kisses to each mark that graced his cheeks and chin. You felt his body relax under your touch, his eyes fluttering shut. As you worked your way slowly across his skin, taking time to worship each place he considered an imperfection, he began to tell you the various stories of how he had sustained them all.

As he was brushing his teeth the next morning, Bradley caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and paused for a moment. His eyes scanned over his scars, fingers reaching up to graze the spots you had shown so much adoration to last night. A small smile tugged at his lips. Now every time he saw them, his mind would only be filled with memories of your love.

WINTER IS MY FAVOURITE SEASON. — it always has been ever since i was a child. the first time when i saw falling snowflakes in los angelos at the age of five, understanding the world's existence a bit better over time, it was one of the rare moments where i could find some semblance of peace even within the cold darkness. in winter, i was a burning child and my childhood was on fire still, but i was happier.

❛❛ you’ve never seen snow before? ❜❜

a giggle escape me so easily before i cover my mouth, not wanting you to think i was laughing directly at you, but rather your remote question — its irony to my winter soul. i did not realize i was acting like i had never seen snow before until you questioned me. in the gentle night, i had been lost in the white beauty, with myself deeply admiring the snowfall and reaching out, seeing them as stars gently coming to earth so they could find their new places away from outer space. when they make contact and melt, the spot they vanish in is their home. i always believe in that, even when the world sees me foolish for my "childish" beliefs, but the coldest stars made a home in me across time and space. they had made me burn more kindly. i can never thank them enough.

❛❛ no, i've seen them many times in america! ❜❜ i respond with warmth, smiling meekly at you. i am still trying to adjust with the reality that your appearance is somewhat similar to mine. i keep thinking fate is making a strange effort of giving us starwake system a message, but i try to see you as humanly real and alive. not a dark echo made by the sanguine hands of fate. a ghost from our starless future. ❛❛ i just enjoy them a lot! believe it or not, but winter have always been the favourite season of mine! ❜❜ most assumed it was summer, but i never think of it as so. i always love watching people's reactions to the fact, having them think about how can an ever shining star as myself admire and adore the world's coldest darkness so much. i can love anything and anyone and anywhere in the universe.

i'm aromantic 😭😭😭 i'm not sure that i've ever felt romantic attraction, nor even know what it is, so it's a bit difficult to say otherwise and i just realized this year. 😔 i mean when i think about it most of the "crushes" i've had are mainly centered around sexual attraction/infatuation/lust or whatever you want to call it lmaooo....i care for the person, it just never dawns on me that i want anything with them in a romantic sense, i'm wayyy too nonchalant for that honestly and everyone deserves the best, which is most definitely not me lmaoo 😭 like i've never even thought about it because for me it's like.....i would only be in a relationship if i know for sure i could be committed to building a future with them for life, or honestly i would probably be down for a relationship if they wanted. like why not i guess which....is also a problem because then it gets considered as settling lmaooo which for me it most definitely is not..

the only thing that i might be inclined to say is slightly close to romantic attraction that i experience is limerence. but it's not like....from a place of love. 😭😭😭 now that i think of it it's probably like, having intrusive thoughts of a person. it's just all the time and as much as i try to stop i can't and it sucks because i do actually care about the person for who they are but obviously that makes it seem otherwise 😭😭😭
