A Jekyll&Hyde type akuma whose power is to bring out a hidden or repressed part of your personality (but like, making two of you instead of switching in one body), and when Chat gets hit suddenly there’s both “normal” Chat (I’ll get to that in a sec) and Cat Walker/Patte de Velours at the same time.
(Cue Ladybug freaking out upon learning they’re the same person)
“Normal” Chat looks the same, but is just a bit more intense (since this is Adrien’s way of “letting loose” to not be how he is as a civilian, he’s not too different, but because of the split he does lose some usual traits). I.e. *heavily* flirting with LB, going at it with the puns, more agressive and impulsive with the akuma, doesnt like following orders (especially with the remaining feelings of anger towards the partnership being put further into question as LB prefers CW), heart on his sleeve
Cat Walker is also not super different to the episode he was in, but is also more intense thanks to the akuma: all business- no nonsense, doesn’t laugh at jokes (even in a “I’ll laugh if you want” way, like in Kuroneko), cordial to LB, follows LB’s orders to a T (to the point of not making his own decisions in battle), calm and collected (almost emotionless, even with that plastered smile)
CN starts to hate CW as the fight goes on, because LB seems to prefer him (and she’s understandably getting annoyed with CN’s impulsivity). CN gets territorial, saying that he’s LB’s partner. CW: “then why did she replace you with me?” (Man, look at all the self hatred in Adrien’s psyche!)
So CN runs off and leaves them alone to fight the akuma. This ticks LB off even more, but she has an akuma to deal with- and she has CW- so she lets him go.
As the fight goes on, some of the same issues from Kuroneko occur, so she also gets frustrated with CW too.
Since he’s acting more extreme than normal (more like someone awaiting orders than a partner due to the Jekyll&Hyde thing), it causes more problems (like him waiting for her decisions leaving openings where he could’ve done something proactive)
She actually blows up at him, asking why he didn’t do anything (“I was waiting for you to tell me the plan!”), and she says he should be able to think on his own, he doesn’t need her to tell him everything, but- “I thought I was just being what you wanted.”
(He’s shocked and genuinely hurt- though it’s still pretty quiet emotion, subdued and apologetic)
And that’s when it clicks for her what becoming CW was back in Kuroneko. He was molding himself for her. And this version of CW is even more of that. She realizes just how much CN suppresses, not just for her, but for everyone- why else would this be a major aspect of his personality?
(Also, Patte de Velours? Velvet Paw? That’s basically saying he’s been declawed. Yikes.)
She makes CN get his butt back to the fight (or she finds him- he may have been doing something while away like talking with someone, maybe Alya or Nino, or Luka). CN and CW argue more, with insults. Then she goes on a whole rant/lecture to them about how important they both are, both to her and to each other, how they are one person, and their traits are both important, but each extreme is not great. Ex: instinct/impulse and service/obedience (the key is self control, so that your emotions aren’t controlling you, but neither is another person). He is allowed to be both! Neither personality is bad, and hating one is just hating himself- he can’t just reject a fundamental part of himself.
She makes them agree to work together to defeat the akuma. It’s awkward at first, but they get a rhythm by seeing where each one is needed in the plan (LB does still do that, but how they follow is more fluid now). Two cataclysms now! Yay! (Maybe they used their powers already and have to de transform, and they see themselves as Adrien- the same one, not different, and it gets through their skulls. Idk I’m spitballing).
They have a quick talk between the two about accepting each other, it won’t be easy, I’m nervous, we’ll be okay (“yeah, I think we will :)”), etc.
Ends with them combining back with the ladybug cure. Surprise! His outfit is combined too! (Honestly, I just want the ponytail with the fluffy hair)
LB and CN have a talk after recharging about everything. CN apologizes for lying about CW and explains why and how he did it. LB didn’t realize how much he hid. She never meant for him to change or hate parts of himself. He thought she didn’t like the CN parts of him, but LB promises that isn’t true. She admits she did get… annoyed, but never hate! She loves both sides of him. Besides, CW didn’t work out that first time, remember? (Though she very much leaves out her intense crushing being the deciding factor there)
CN admits he feels more, well, not whole, exactly, he’s actually still pretty uncertain about what all this means for “who he is,” but… he can at least say he feels less like he has to perform all the time. He loves being Chat Noir, but he is exaggerating a bit when he transforms, in part to be not like his civilian life. He tells her he’s not like that as a civilian, but he’s also not like Cat Walker. But he’s not really sure who “he” is yet. (What I’m getting at is Oblivio!Adrien- dorky, but not over the top, in love, trusts his lady to make the plan, but is still proactive, etc.)
LB says that’s okay, he doesn’t have to figure it out right away. But she’ll be there to help him figure it out.

MEET THEO, the perfect disaster, with some quick facts:
absolutely passionate figure skater;
family was good at many things, not so much at being a family;
her favorite person in the world in her older brother;
her parents are wealthy and they aren't close;
despite the common misconception that she ascended because of her family name, she worked her ass off to be a high-ranking athlete;
due to her upbringing, can be spoiled and too intense (her mother demanded nothing but perfection from the entire family);
regularly overworks herself and needs to learn how to live life day by day;
openly pansexual and founded a network for lgbtqia+ Olympic athletes and pre-Olympic athletes.
identifies as a cis female as of now, but thinks her gender identity is a tad more fluid than that (this is a self-discovery plot point and will be developed as we go);
skates in pairs and has a colorful history with hers (pretty vague because this is a wanted connection and I want to have room to brainstorm, but this was originally inspired by scott and tessa and is very much a wanted connection);
in relationships, she tends to be the first one to let go, either because she has skating as her main priority or because she doesn't really know how to handle love;
has good friends, but not many, because most people don't wanna rely on someone who can be gone for months at a time;
tends to feel very lonely, but doesn't know what to do to fix it;
deeply resents her parents for their shitty parenting, not being entirely done with the rebellion phase most people go through in their teens;
uses her resentment as a motivation to be even better, which is not entirely healthy but works for her (as she told her therapist);
going slightly insane with the 'end of career' undertones of everything around her while she plans to win gold in the 2026 Winter Games;

This is my entry for Olicity Clue!  (two days late, sorry 😭). I have the “brilliant” idea (please note the quotation marks 🤣) to make this a combined work, so you have gifs and a ficlet, a scene from the plot I wrote.
Thank you @olicitytropes for organizing this! I have a lot of fun participating!    At eighteen years old, Oliver Queen was used as a bargaining chip by his own father, and hand over to the League of Assassins in exchange for Robert's life. Brainwashed, tortured and without hope, he is converted on Al-Sah Him, the heir to the demon. But despite Ra’s efforts, there’s still  a part of the old Oliver alive. With the help of Nyssa Al Ghul, the daughter of the demon, he recovers his identity, and starts planning his revenge. Against the League and the father who sold him.
Felicity Smoak saw her mother's murder when she was eight years old at the hands of a man dressed in black gear. Alone in the world, her only goal was to discover why her mother died. Until one day, she does. The league of assassins killed her mother as retaliation against her absentee father, who's a criminal mastermind known as "The Calculator". He thought he could deceived Ra's Al Ghul and steal from him without suffering the consequences, and did nothing to protect his ex wife and child from Ra's Al Ghul. Enraged by this discovery, she devises a plan to destroy not only the League, but her father as well. On a twist of fate, she meets Nyssa Al Ghul, and although wary at first, soon she realises they have a similar goal and can help each other to achieve it. Nyssa takes her to the very home of the League, Nanda Parbat. And Erin (as she calls herself now), makes an offer to Ra's Al Ghul that he can't refuse: she'll find The Calculator, and Ra's will finally have him at his mercy.
What Oliver and Felicity don’t know, is that they will find more than just revenge in Nanda Parbat. They'll find each other.
Fic  and clues under the cut:
The old King is dead. (Long live the king)
She runs through the corridors, desperately trying not to look around her. There's destruction everywhere, debris blocking her way, and she can barely walk without being in danger of falling.
It's not only debris blocking the halls. It's fire. And death.
She's not naive. She knew perfectly well what would happen when they declared war against Ra's Al Ghul. Deaths were inevitable. But knowing and seeing how many people have died, are two different things.
If she allows herself one glance, she'll be sick to her stomach, and that's something she can't afford right now.
She needs to get to the ceremonial hall. She needs to make sure Oliver is ok.
Turning to her right, Felicity runs into Sarab, who's fighting two of Nyssa's henchmen. She comes to a halt, panic settling in her chest, 'cause she knows that Sarab won't  have mercy if he spots her.
She hesitates for a few seconds, trying to decide what other way she can take to the ceremonial hall, and those seconds prove to be near fatal.
Felicity sees the sword falling to her shoulder in her peripheral vision, and she freezes, horror and desperation clogging her chest. All the hours of painful training seem to have abandoned her at that moment, and she closes her eyes waiting for the final blow that will end her life.
Instead of pain, something warm and wet hits her face, and a well-known voice calls her.
"Erin!"She opens her eyes, as Nyssa is extracting her sword from the man's chest, the one that tried to attack Felicity not even two seconds ago.
With a shaking hand she touches her face, and when she looks at it she realises that is blood.
Her face is covered in the blood of the man that Nyssa killed.
It takes her a great amount of self-control not to spill her guts right then and there.
"Focus!" Nyssa yells, while she is returning Sarab's vicious attacks. “Go to the hall, now! You still have something to do!"  Nyssa gives Sarab a swift kick in the stomach. "We count on you, Erin…Al Sah-him and I."
Felicity nods, steeling herself and continuing towards her destination. She has a task to do. Something she can't forget.
She needs to destroy the Lazarus Pit.
She runs through seemingly endless corridors, more aware of her surroundings now, eager to avoid another unpleasant encounter with Ra’s men.
After what seems like hours she finally gets to the ceremonial hall.
The heavy doors are wide open, and she walks inside cautiously, the smoke from the burning ruins making it difficult to see much.
It takes her a minute or two, but once her eyes adjust to her surroundings, the scene presented in front of her is shocking.
Amidst the destruction, there's at least ten Assassins in a perfect semicircle, looking like immovable statues, not worried in the least about the danger around them.
Not even one turns to look at her. Their attention is fixed on the middle of the room.
When she looks at that place, a gasp leaves her lips.
There's a man there standing high and proud, looking over a prone figure on the floor. He is saying something she can’t understand, but the intonation of his voice (soft and melodic), it’s similar to the prayers that the league members recite while they bid farewell to their dead comrades.
She recognizes that voice instantly.
"Oliver!" She whispers, and her heart fills with joy.
He defeated Ra's Al Ghul. Just like he promised her.
As if he could feel her presence, his eyes find her in the middle of the chaos that surrounds them. She doesn't know if it's her imagination, but Felicity thinks that a smile appears on his face.
"Felicity…" He says, loud enough to be heard over the noise of the battle that's still happening outside.
Tears spill from her eyes, and she sucks in a breath.
This is the first time that he says her name-her real name-outside of the four walls of his bedroom when it is safe for them to be Oliver and Felicity, and not Al Sah-him and Erin.
He always whispers her name with reverence and love, a secret well kept between them. Until now, their real selves stayed in that bedroom; once they were outside, their personas took place: an emotionless assassin and an international cyber criminal dealing with one of the most dangerous organizations in the world.
It was necessary, if they wanted to succeed in destroying the League. And survive.
But now? Hearing him say her name in front of other people? It’s confirmation that  it's over. They won. They are finally free from Ra’s Al Ghul.
In a few steps, Oliver is there, engulfing her in his arms. She clings to him, burying her face in his neck, her anxiousness finally fading. He's always been able to calm her down, to give her peace. No matter how impossible and terrifying the situation they were in, he gave her the strength to believe that everything was going to be ok.
"You did it," she murmurs, her lips touching the skin of his neck, "I knew you would."
"You gave me the strength, Felicity." Oliver pulls away to look at her face. "Without you, I would've never done it."
They kiss softly then, all too aware of the people still in the room. There'll be time later to enjoy each other. She still has something to do.
Pulling away from Oliver, she searches in her jacket pockets for the vial with the potion that will rend the Pit useless.
She shows the vial to Oliver, shaking it a little. "One more thing," she says and walks to the Pit slowly, avoiding the debris on her way.
She hears movement at her back and Oliver's commanding voice ordering in Arabic, "Don't move." The noise stops instantly, and she continues walking. She knows that Oliver won't let anyone hurt her.
When she is beside the Pit, she opens the vial but doesn't pour it immediately. This was Ra's most treasured possession, his source of pride and madness, the one for which he killed hundreds of people, his family included.
No men will use the Pit to satisfy their ambition for power and eternal life, ever again.
There won't be more death because of it.
With a  flick of her wrist, she empties out the vial in the clear water. Instantly, fumes start to emanate from the Pit, the fetid smell making her step back. The water's consistency becomes thick, and its color changes to an ill red.
She turns around then and looks at Oliver. "It's done." He nods and stretches his hand, Felicity already walking towards him.
She takes Oliver's hand, and they walk towards the doors. He stops close to the assassins, giving them a few orders that have them hurrying out of the room.
"We need to find Nyssa," says Oliver, "I need to give her this." He raises his hand, and it's then that she sees it.
The demon's ring. Ra's Al Ghul's symbol of power is in Oliver’s right index finger. It dawns on her then, why not one of the men tried to kill them, why they obeyed him without hesitation.
Oliver is the new Ra's Al Ghul.
At her questioning gaze, Oliver is quick to reassure her. "It was just for a short time. They would have attacked me if I didn't wear the ring. But I'm not interested in this." He gestures at the room, "I only want my freedom…and a new life at your side."
"I want the same," she tells him, her hand landing over his heart, "although…"
"We aren't done. I know." He takes her hand, the one that's on his chest and kisses it. "Come on Felicity. We still have work to do."
They leave the grand room hand in hand. There's still a few battles they need to fight, before they are truly free.

Miraculous Ladybug Fanfic: The Enemy
Was reading some fanfic where Marinette is akumatized and had a brief flash of inspiration. Typed this idea as far as I could before boredom kicked in. Unfinished. Unedited. Figured I’d share it anyway.
Summary: Her classmates believe she is the enemy. She’s not. But maybe she should be.
The Enemy
“For so long you’ve endured, treated like an enemy by your so-called friends.”
Damnit. Marinette grimaced, huddling tighter against the bathroom wall. Tikki, please be safe. Her phone buzzed in her back pocket. Because I don’t think I can fight this time…
“Help me gather the Chat Noir and Ladybug Miraculous and I will help you, Final Straw.”
She barked a laugh, the powers of the akuma steadily coloring her thoughts. “Final Straw?” She had a glimpse of a masked man and the negativity delved deeper. The butterflies flittered within the outline of a familiar symbol. Strange. Hadn’t she seen that before? “No, no, absolutely not.”
“Oh?” The voice deepened with an unspoken threat. “Surely you want justice?”
“Of course I do.” Black spotted her vision. Ah. She realized. That’s where. “But not with a name like that.”
“Creative one, aren’t you?” A clack echoed: an agitated cane against a stone floor. “Then what do you propose?”
“If I’m truly an enemy to them…” Pastel lips stretched into a steady grin, unfamiliar power rolling through her veins. “Then why not be an enemy to all?”
Including you, Gabriel Agreste.
Like walking into a room at night, she reached within her mind and pulled. Her emotions rippled like a wave of white hot water before it crashed. Somewhere a connection snapped. Black flooded her vision. Noise vibrated in her head and she curled tighter into a ball before she realized she needed to breathe and when she did–
It was like flipping a switch.
Her vision cleared. The emotions short-circuited into nothing. No pain. No joy. Just the dull sensation of numbness. Her head tilted as she examine herself. Interesting. No visible difference. So she was still herself? She didn’t feel the same, so then..?
Hawkmoth’s voice buzzed in her head like a pesky fly. “What have you–”
She swatted the nuisance aside. Troublesome. So then she had been akumatized. That would explain the strange emptiness. Logically, she knew she should feel more than muted surprise at her discoveries. Gabriel Agreste, Adrien’s father, is Hawkmoth. And so what did that matter? Her one purpose was to defeat Hawkmoth and return the misused miraculous to Master Fu. So that’s exactly what she planned to do.
Pity she still appeared normal. School would be a bother but she had to keep up appearances or risk Hawkmoth discovering she knew his identity. True, she didn’t know where that rat had holed himself. But she would find out. Soon.
Marinette idly straightened her clothes and stepped out of the stall. A glance at the mirror confirmed she still appeared as her civilian self. She adjusted her pigtails. There. Presentable to a reasonable degree. Now, what class did she have again?
She pulled out her phone. Several notifications had covered her lock-screen. Her thumb briefly slid along the glass to roll through the messages and she exhaled.
“To change from a hero to a villain.” She checked the time. Right. Physics. “Were they ever my allies at all?”
Did it even matter? No. Not right now. What mattered now was taking down Hawkmoth and restoring order to Paris. She’d deal with her classmates later. For now… For now, she had class to attend and notes to take.
She turned from the mirror and strode out of the bathroom. Hallways stretched before her, lined with doors, and she walked to Ms. Mendeleiev’s classroom. Class had already started and the door was closed. Her knuckles rapped against the door in quick succession and she waited.
The door opened to reveal the purple haired and sharp-eyed teacher. “So glad you could join us, Ms. Dupain-Cheng.” Marinette waited, silent. The teacher eyed her critically but, when the silence stretched, Ms. Mendeleiev huffed. “Hurry along, now.”
Marinette breezed her way into her seat. She ignored the others as they shot the occasional spiteful glare her way. She continued to ignore them until lunch time when Lila staged another scene.
In the cafeteria and surrounded by their classmates, the liar wailed. “And then I went to comfort her like a good friend should but you know what she said to me?”
On cue, Max’s voice prompted her. “What?”
“She threatened me! She said she’d get revenge and take you all away from me. But I didn’t do anything to her! I just don’t know why she hates me so much.”
Marinette had just bitten a forkful of her pasta when rapid footsteps approached and two broad hands slammed against the tabletop. She frowned as her cup of water toppled to the side and splashed onto the rest of the noodles.
“Kim,” she started to say.
“What is wrong with you, Marinette?” The taller boy exploded. “Can’t you see your actions have consequences? Why do you keep hurting Lila?”
Slowly, she lifted her gaze from her water-logged food to the fuming boy. She blinked, slow and steady, and shifted her gaze onto the rest of the group. They watched with equal faces of ire. Silently, she picked up the cup and wiped the damp with a napkin.
“Aren’t you listening?” Kim yelled. “Why do you–”
Without a word, she picked up her tray and stood. She pivoted, Kim hot on her heels, and walked to the trash bins.
“Marinette, I’m talking to you! Stop ignoring–”
She emptied the tray and placed it with the rest of the dirty trays atop the bin. Shame she had to waste food, but. Her vision darkened as Hawkmoth yelled inside her head. But she had priorities. Finished, she shoved aside the man’s voice and she turned away from Kim’s yells and she tuned out the clamor of agitated students. She walked out the door.
She didn’t get very far. This time it was Alya storming after her.
“What was that, girl?” Her former best friend blocked her path, hands on hips. “You don’t get to just brush off our friends like that.”
“Your friends.” Her mouth corrected before she could think. “Kim is not my friend.”
“What?” Alya shot her a look. “Girl, your jealous streak has gone way too far. You need to–”
“I don’t need to do anything.” Marinette corrected once more before she amended. “Well, except for one but that’s irrelevant.”
“What is with you?” Alya crossed her arms. Typical closed-off posturing, Marinette idly noted. Why waste my time? She made to move around the other girl but Alya shifted to block her way. Marinette made to turn around but Alya stepped in front once more. “Stop trying to run away, Marin–”
It was then that a flash of anger struck.
“I am not Marinette.” Oops. That was the Akuma talking for sure.
“…what?”
Hmm. How to fix this? “I am not your Marinette, Alya. Not your friend, not your anything. Not anymore.”
“What?”
“You heard me just fine.” She leveled steely blue to startled brown. “You want Lila? That’s fine. But you don’t get me too.”
With that, she stepped forwards and made it two steps before a hand grabbed her by the shoulder. The anger surged and before she could rein herself in, she had already flipped Alya over her shoulder and down to the ground.
“Stay out of the way, Césaire.” Marinette bared her teeth in a smile. She released the startled girl. “Or you’ll find I’m just as strong an enemy than an ally.”
Alya lay there, winded, as she walked away. Nuisance. Her brows pinched together and a brief bubble of guilt popped in the haze. That’s not right. I could’ve hurt her. I should apologize. But for what? She wasn’t in the wrong. She had one goal. Césaire was in the way and had been warned. She’s my friend. I shouldn’t… She had one goal. She shouldn’t worry about a little thing like teenagers.
She had one goal. And she would achieve it.
Change of plans, Hawkmoth. She mused. There’s no reason to waste time here. Not when she could be revealing the truth. In quick paces, she found the stairwell. She climbed up and up until she reached the roof. Without a thought, she jumped off the ledge.
Familiar words rolled off her tongue. “Spots on.”
A flash of black erupted around her. She flung a black yo-yo out of the smog and swung from rooftop to rooftop in search of butterfly windows and a mansion. It wasn’t until she arrived atop the mansion’s roof did she realize Hawkmoth had been oddly silent.
She darted around until finally she decided to just enter the house. Unsurprisingly, the doors were locked. One smashed window and several severed bars later, she stormed her way through the building. Distantly, police sirens roared but she paid them no head as she tore through the mansion in search of the hidden lair.
The noise increased as she stood in the foyer in front of a mosaic painting. Emilie Agreste.
“Come on out, little butterflies.” She cooed and reached inwards. Like before, she found a string and pulled. Beneath the painting, a butterfly fluttered. There.
Behind her, the mansion doors busted open. “…m’lady?”
“Not your lady.” Slowly, she turned. “Never your lady, minou. What kind of enemy has allies, after all.”
“Bugaboo…” the concern was clear, “what happened?” To you? Went unspoken.
Many things, kitty. She shook her head clear of black spots. “No time, chaton. Hawkmoth is here.”
He straightened. “What? But–”
The butterfly flittered around her pigtails before settling atop her shoulder. “Ah, little butterfly.” She murmured. “I’ll set you free.”
“Lady–”
With that, she flung her yo yo backwards and ripped apart the painting. Oddly enough, Chat yowled like she had struck him instead. She didn’t have time to concern herself with that, though. No. She had to reveal the truth.
Her yo-yo shredded the fabric to reveal a passageway filled with butterflies. Without a backwards glance, she sprinted down the path, guided by white wings. She didn’t have time to wait for her partner. She needed to end this. And she needed to end it now.
“Come out, Hawkmoth.” Her voice echoed within the underground rooms as she vaulted through them. “It’s time.”
Doors opened beneath her slinging yo-yo and she flung herself into the last room: a room lit by a butterfly shaped window. Alone in the light stood a familiar figure. Hawkmoth.
“…just who are you, Marinette Dupain-Cheng?”
“I’m who I need to be.” She offered a smile and twirled her weapon. “The enemy, remember?”

⭐️ASTRO OBSERVATIONS⭐️
• Leo Moons feel the need to perform their emotions, dramatically or intensely. It’s a conflict, but if they are in public they usually can control themselves. Good luck to their home life.
• Pisces Moons feel everything so deeply that it gets lost in the waves of emotion and sometimes it’s just too much to express. There is no other moon sign like Pisces. They are sacrificial lovers with the deepest and most psychic emotions.
• The Cancer Mercury mind lives in memories with defenses all around shielding them from unwanted thoughts. They store everything they have experienced with their loved ones and are so creative. The facts and details of memories, however, could be lost. For most water mercury signs, the details of their memories can be blurry at times or enhanced in some way.
• Sagittarius Mercury can be detrimental if you have no earth or air in your chart, because things can be exaggerated. Quick to question but also quick to believe. High minded thinkers.
• Aries Venus is restless when it comes to relationships and experiences with people. If you have no signs or aspects in your chart that keep you grounded or loyal, it could possibly indicate an unfaithful lover, but it’s because they want and need freedom, not out of malice.
• Since Venus and Mars both can indicate romantic, intimate or sexual relationships, I’ve noticed if you have sister/opposing signs in these planets it can balance out how you approach and seek out love/relationships/friends/sex. For example my Mars is in Cancer and my Venus in Capricorn and while some would say this could clash, to me since the planets involved are somewhat similar with relationships, it can bring a balance.
• Sun in the 12th house is honestly one of the most difficult placements. It doesn’t mean there aren’t great and amazing qualities about it, BUT, you are most likely going to have an identity crisis no matter what your rising sign is. I have this placement and it often feels like I’m an alien in this world, someone reflecting back what I see in the world and in people. What is my identity? It’s blurred, hazy, hidden. It’s a constant search of self discovery. It also gives you great compassion for the collective unconscious. It just makes it hard to act because the ego/self is not clear. Different signs in this house, depending on which ones, could lessen or increase these issues.
• Your placements can appear contradictory, paradoxical, confusing and not make sense sometimes but that’s not a fault with astrology. Humans are complicated and we contradict ourselves a lot. There’s so much detail and astrology recognizes that. Dig deeper.
• Aries Moons can have a childish temper if things don’t go their way. Their emotions appear much more aggressive than a Leo or Sagittarius moon.
• Venus square Jupiter can indicate beautiful love but also overly self-indulgent behavior/habits.
• While I don’t know tons of Libra Moons, the ones I do know, have or had mothers who weren’t the most close emotionally or uplifting. Kind of a cold relationship. This could change depending on other placements and aspects.
• Taurus truly is the most stubborn sign of the zodiac. For the sun, you’re stubborn in general, moon , you’re emotionally stubborn, and for mercury, you have a stubborn mind. You know what you want, and you know how to say no. That’s a blessing. Taurus is also very loyal so the only way No is hard is if you have to leave a relationship that’s been going on for awhile because you want to keep trying. After all, Taurus is a fixed sign. Could be hard to let go.
• Without Cardinal signs in your chart, especially personal planets, it could be difficult to start projects or things in general, without help.
• Any Gemini placement honestly can appear deceiving or contradictory but it’s not their fault. To me, mutable signs in general can be confusing and hard to grasp because they are and can be so changeable and fluid.
• It can be helpful to look at your Draconic and Birth Charts together to see how you relate to both charts. To me, I’ve seen the fusion of these energies come out. Of course, your draconic chart is mainly seen when you’re born and as a child which eventually shifts into the energies of your birth chart but I’ve noticed some things stay or fuse with the energy of your birth chart.
• Chiron in the 5th house can really show up as wounds and insecurities to do with your talents and creativity. Helping others with flourishing their creativity will help you heal.
• Saturn in the 3rd house is a lesson in the struggles of communication and what really needs to be said. It’s a hard lesson, but one that’s worth it. It will grow you as a person. Very difficult in childhood but can be mastered into adulthood.

GX Review
I’ve finished my long, grueling trek through GX and so now it’s time for a quick review. I don’t want to make this too long because I don’t wanna continue rambling on the same points I made throughout my liveblog, so let’s get this goin’ already...
Season 1 (Episodes 1 - 52)
This beginning fourth of the show introduces us rather gently to GX’s trend of “filler” episodes, or, rather, episodes that introduce us to villains-of-the-week that serve as fodder for our protagonist (and sometimes for GX’s side cast characters). Yes, GX is that kind of show. While I’d say it’s worthy to note that not every episode or characters is exactly boring, what is boring is GX’s complete refusal to build up its own world beyond just the span of the perspective of a few characters. It’s such a shame, really, because the concept of a world which takes dueling to a whole new, professional and academic level is quite interesting but it’s not explored much this season. That being said, certain characters are fun and have interesting enough beginning development brewing up slowly, however the group of main villains introduced in the second half are almost all incompetent and lacking in any appeal to the main cast, and even less so to the audience. They’re overall forgettable, as are most of the episodes this season. It certainly doesn’t help the side cast’s appeal that the majority of the duels are dependent on Judai, the protagonist’s, victory, leading us to quickly (and appropriately) assume that even they are easily expendable. Still, there are fun moments here and there, especially when the show doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is something that GX later tries to “fix”.
Production value-wise, it’s passable in terms of animation and sound design (which admittedly gets repetitive), but not anything to write home about.
Overall rating for this arc: 2.7/5
Season 2 (Episodes 53 - 104)
Season 2 introduces a bit more of a proper overarching conflict throughout the next 50 or so episodes. We’re introduced to a cynical villain and a new rival for Judai that leads him to develop... or so we would figure. While it does indeed seem so at first that Judai is about to undergo a bit of growth, mainly Judai’s defeat to this new “rival”, Edo Phoenix, leads him to the discovery of a new archetype that he tacks onto his deck as easily as that. While this season has a bit less of the villain-of-the-week -esque episodes, it still drags along its cast to near helpless states, which Judai is expected to eventually save them from. The overall plot focuses on the main villain Saiou and his relationship with Edo, however the spotlight is stubbornly set on Judai and of course all other characters are as expendable as Judai is the protagonist, and oh boy is he ever the protagonist.
We get a bit more world building but nothing is ever expanded upon too thoroughly as all the world building we get is mostly through side-character agency, which, as you may have already noted, doesn’t ever last too long. Production value-wise, it’s about the same as Season 1. For me, the most enjoyable moments included expansion on Edo’s backstory and Hell Kaiser Ryo’s fall into the corrupted underground duels scene, but again... those moments aren’t too often. I’ll give this season a bit more points for at least keeping a consistent plot line running, even if it was marred with nonsense and irrational interactions between some of the more, in my opinion, potentially interesting characters of GX’s cast.
Overall rating for this arc: 2.9/5
Season 3 (Episodes 105 - 156)
Ho boy.
Not sure how many people read my review of DM, but this arc suffers from a lot of the similar issues found in the Doma arc of that show.
I want to emphasize that up until now, the show’s central themes (about... having fun with dueling... and.... believing in your cards (?), as well as... growing up (???), destiny(?!??!???)) have not only been vague and jumbled, they’ve also been laughably weak, so when GX decided to use this season to finally “get serious” about addressing it’s “maturer” tones, you can probably guess how that played out. Hint: it plays out as well as any fanfic tagged under the “#angst #war au #self-insert” tags you’d find on the 13th page of AO3 at 3am after your 8th shot of vodka because you’ve lost control of your life, just as this show has lost control of all sense of its identity.
It’s illogical, melodramatic, dreary, predictable, and just a drag to get through. When Judai’s “friends” aren’t sucking on his poor, abused teet, then you can bet the show is doing its damnedest to appeal for you to take your turn too. It envelops him in this over-glorifying aura that just screams “look at me, I can do the development too” but then falls flat, settling on an anticlimactic plot twist that makes you question why you didn’t just skip to the last episode.
It has a few quirks here and there, I’ll give it that. A few sassy lines from a character here or there makes it a clever show, right?
Overall rating for this arc: 1.5/5
P.S. Yes, this is the season every ardent GX fan wants you to see. This is the one that makes it “worth it”. Right.
Season 4 (Episodes 157 - 180)
Just when you thought the worst is past you, your beloved GX characters have made it back to their regular daily lives, more or less, but then, suddenly, you’re enshrouded by endless DAAARRRKNESSS.
DAAAAAARRRKKKNEEESSSSS.
DAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRKKNEEESSSSSS.
*Ahem*
Judai returns as well, having developed into a much less sociable young man. He’s oh so very pleasant to be around now that he actively ignores his friends, but, of course, this is due to the traumatic experiences he went through in Season 3. He’s now a grown up. A fully fledged adult. And mature. And the show will make sure you know this. If you don’t like it, that’s your problem.
Judai withstanding, which is now extremely difficult to do for this show apparently, I can promise you that none of your favorite characters will receive proper treatment throughout this arc and only a very limited number of them will receive a proper send off. And the plot for this arc? Well. It’s pretty DARK. As in there is not a single shining fleck of light emanating from this rushed story line of a final arc.
Overall rating for this arc: 0.6/5 (I stand by my belief that 4Kids’ decision to end their dub of this show at the end of Season 3 was the correct narrative choice to make for this show).
Final Overall Rating for this show: 1.9/5.
Final thoughts: My final calculated score may seem rough but I agree with it. GX is not well written and, to be fair, that may have been due to the fact that, as the first spin-off of this anime franchise, the show’s producers seemed to have had an air of skepticism when approaching it. While I enjoyed watching it as a kid, a fresher perspective on GX didn’t bode me as well as I initially believed it would. I did enjoy some of the cast of characters, but I found their written development overall disappointing. And Judai for me could have been a likable protagonist but he ends up coming off as pretty insufferable and egotistical by the end of the show. Despite this, I think the rating I gave it reflects that there is something salvageable from it: character concepts and alternative theories of its under-developed and underutilized ideas. Nevertheless, it almost hurts me to say this because I do still see it as having been a part of my childhood, but I see now that it is no longer a show for me and I think it’s best I’ll keep it in my past.
Bonus note: Having revisited some clips of the dub, I believe it to be the more enjoyable of the two versions due to the fact that it doesn’t tend to take itself as overly serious so its themes don’t come off as disingenuous as the original version definitely does.

LadyNoir July day 8: Hand kiss/Public relations. Thanks @lovesquare-squad for organizing this :)
< Previous | Next >
Read the whole month on AO3
"I hate press conferences," Chat said, fidgeting with his belt.
"Aw, I think you were made to be in front of a camera, Kitty," Ladybug said, leaning over to whisper in his cat ear. "You seem the photogenic type."
Marinette's discovery was still rolling around her brain. She couldn't bring herself to act any differently when Chat Noir stood in front of her. He was still her goofy partner. She felt self-conscious, and that put her on autopilot. And autopilot with Chat Noir, she was finding, was a little bit flirtier than she originally thought. But it was Still Not The Time To Freak Out, so flirty would just have to do.
"Not as much as you, Bugaboo," Chat said, falling into that point on the continuum between "sappy" and "lustful" that belonged solely to Chat Noir. And, apparently, Adrien. Marinette had had a headache for the past three days of trying to figure this out.
"Well, let's get this nonsense over with," Ladybug said, stretching like she was getting ready for a fight.
/*****/
The press conference went well. Or so the heroes thought. Right up until Alya burst into Marinette's room where she and Adrien were working on the night's math homework two hours later.
"Did you see?" Alya screeched.
"Hi, Alya," Adrien said like this was normal behavior he was witnessing.
"Turn on your computer!" Alya said, almost shoving Adrien out of his chair to reach the keyboard.
"Alya, we're studying-"
"Marinette, this is the biggest development in the LadyNoir story since-"
"I asked you not to call them that," Marinette said. "They're people, and-"
"Marinette, watch this!"
Alya pulled up a clip of the press conference from the Ladyblog. It was a clip of Adrien- Chat! Chat answering a question and kissing Ladybug's hand like the lovesick dork he was.
"Of course, we discovered this on one of our rooftop dates," Chat said. Hand kiss, wink. Nothing out of the ordinary?
"What am I looking at, Alya?" Marinette asked. "They act like that all the time."
"Are you kidding me?" Alya said. She replayed the clip.
"-one of our rooftop dates."
"What's so-"
"You think they're dating," Adrien said. His eyes were unnaturally wide.
"Think? He just said they go on dates! On rooftops! Superhero rooftop dates! It's the sweetest thing I've ever heard!"
Alya continued to rant for a minute while Adrien and Marinette got lost in their thoughts.
"I'm sorry, Marinette," Adrien said the second Alya stopped for breath. He was already gathering up his bags. "I just remembered I need to be home. I'll get to school early and help you with the rest of this problem set if you don't finish it on your own, okay?"
Her Kitty was freaking out.
Marinette and Alya bid Adrien goodbye, then Marinette found an excuse to get Alya to leave as well.
"Well, I guess I should go check on him," Marinette said to Tikki.
"You need to be careful about this, Marinette," Tikki said. "I'm still worried about what you knowing his identity will do to your relationship."
"So you've changed your mind? I should tell him that I know?" Marinette asked.
"I still think you should talk to Master Fu," Tikki said.
"But you said he might take away our miraculouses and give them to someone else!" Marinette said. "I'll keep it a secret from Chat if we get to stay Ladybug and Chat Noir."
Tikki sighed. They had been having this fight on and off for three days.
"Let's just go check on him," Tikki said. "You two have a new problem to deal with."
"The original problem was more than enough. I don't even know how I feel about him any more!" Marinette said. "And now everyone thinks we're dating?"
/*****/
"My Lady!"
"Hey, Chat."
"Have you seen the news? I'm sorry, I didn't even think!"
"It's okay, Chat!" Ladybug put a hand on his shoulder, hoping he would lose the manic, scared look in his eye. "We both call patrol 'rooftop dates'. You didn't do anything wrong."
"I did. I knew how that sounded when we first started using it, I just... forgot. I'm so sorry."
Instinct guiding her again, Ladybug pulled her partner into her arms. He hugged her back immediately, and she almost broke and told him she knew. But then he might figure out how she knew. He might figure out who she was. And then the risk was doubled.
"It's fine," she said, pulling away. "We'll call another press conference or give an exclusive interview and set everyone straight. In fact, let's go see if the mayor is free now. He can pull together another quick press conference and this will all be fixed."
"I don't want anyone thinking we're dating unless and until it's true," Chat- Adrien? said. His stare was just a little too intense, lasted a little too long.
"Don't worry, Kitty." She gave his fingers a squeeze and they set off for the mayor's office.
/*****/
"Absolutely not!"
"Um... You don't really get a say in if it's true or not that we're dating," Chat pointed out.
The mayor crossed his arms. "You just said you were earlier today. The whole city is talking about it! Everyone is excited for you!"
"But we aren't dating," Ladybug said.
"But you said you were!"
"Mr. Bourgeois," Ladybug said. "It was just a figure of speech. A shorthand we use. 'Rooftop date' means 'patrol' to us."
"But you can't break up!"
"We technically can't-"
Andre Bourgeois cut Chat Noir off. "If you break up, think of the people! Everyone will be upset! Akumas everywhere! Terrible for business. And tourism!"
"Mr. Bourgeois-"
"He's right," Ladybug said, cutting Chat off again. "I hate to admit it, but he's right."
"But... we aren't."
"Thank you, Mr. Mayor," Ladybug said, dragging Chat by the arm out of the window through which they had arrived.
On the roof of the building, Chat started pacing. "What do we do? We're not dating, but now everyone will be upset if they find that out. How do we convince everyone that it's okay and they shouldn't be upset enough to be akumatized over us?"
"I don't think we can, Kitty," she said.
"Then what do we do? I know you're interested in someone else, I don't want you to date me if your heart's not in it."
"Well... what do you think about putting on a show?"

In Search Of
The Good life. Is it an ideal? I don’t know, I don’t think so. Maybe the universally accepted Good life is an ideal. I have my own reservations on what the Good life is. It doesn’t sound so Good to some. I feel the same way about some other people’s ideas of the Good life. Well, whatever the truth is, the Good life, living Well, etc. is a fixed goal in the human psyche despite its inconclusiveness. No one is waking up with the intention of living badly. It’s like a rule that you’re stuck with. Boom you’re on Earth, now live well. Wait, how?
Purpose -> it’s funny because the idea possesses both necessity and elusiveness. These aren’t opposite things per se, but they certainly aren’t complementary to each other. They’re definitely two qualities best presented with a ‘but’ between them. The implication is not that the qualities are contrasting, but one makes it difficult to further define the other. I need this thing, so I will mobilize myself to attain it... but I can’t define it. Conversely, I can’t conceive this thing in my mind, so this thing must be nonsensical and not worth pursuing...but it is necessary for my life (coherent perception of reality) to carry on.
When the narrowing powers of societal, cultural, and familial identity prove no use in defining or necessitating your life’s purpose, the next line of defense from absolute madness is found in the realm of self-help.
Taking from a variety of human endeavors, from academic (mostly the social sciences) to religious (mostly Buddhist (i guess it’s the most malleable)) to simply anecdotal, authors from all walks of life attempt to formalize their own views and experiences into a book or dvd collection to contribute to our collective definition of the Good life, while also making a quick buck. I’m not going to take the cynical route in this post. I genuinely believe people produce and promote self-help materials not to push some sort of ideological agenda, but to test it against competing theories for the greater good of society, like in an idealist-enlightenment era-free market-democratic-academia sort of way.
I’ve read self-help books, and consumed a lot of self-help media in my days. Contrary to the reasonable fears that some people have, self-help books don’t create ideological zombies out of people and turn consumers into fanatic endorsers of a certain idea. Humans, like me (yes), are not as stupid as people would like to glibly assume. We may certainly become rather obsessed with what we see or hear from some person of perceived authority, but only for a short time, in which we more so test out the ideas we’ve been exposed to in real life, rather than carry out those ideas without question.
Unless agents are actively imposing themselves into the lives of readers, which is not possible with a book (...under most circumstances), most readers will revel in fascination at the new ideas presented to them, maybe promote or endorse these ideas to their apprehensive and worried friends and family, but eventually discard these ideas within a few months unless they have manifested themselves in useful ways that are only apparent through deep reflection. I often become enthused after reading a person’s biography and quickly take to emulating the qualities embodied in the bio. Within a few weeks, I would have definitely changed, but not in a simplistic way. After evaluating whatever I learnt on the merits of its ability to contribute to the author’s life, I’d soon go into experimentation mode, where I’d start to live out my lessons. I’d then reflect on what I learnt, now on the merits of its ability to contribute to my life. After some unscheduled time (my life is not contrived in the slightest) I will spontaneously discard the qualities that I deemed useless, problematic or even boring. If I’m more aware, I’d probably recognize the qualities that I found helpful, and then proceed to look further into this quality in my future.
This is the funny part about self-help. As far as I’m concerned, you can pick and choose what you want to take out of it. You can take the parts that you deem useful and discard or even do the opposite of the parts you deem useless. You can’t do that with the sciences. As far as the physical sciences go, I cannot accept classical physics, and deny evolutionary biology. I chose this example for a reason. The two sciences are separate enough that you may have caught yourself asking wait maybe I can have one without the other. The reason I say you can’t is because when you reduce both these sciences, they are rooted in the same formalism of scientific thought. Ideas on purpose or meaning, however, are usually not. Ideas touted in self-help media are often fragmented and are discussed in ambiguous contexts that may not pertain to the consumer’s life. The realm of study is so complex that a starting point is hard to find, but the need for a person to formalize a worldview (not just any, but one that brings about meaning and interest for the individual) induces people to share thoughts and ideas, no matter how unrefined they may be.
But just because someone’s idea is unrefined, it doesn’t make it unethical for them to share it in book format. The rules are different, at least in this field. I say this because even though I use the word unrefined, I don’t mean to say that people’s ideas can be further refined by the individuals themselves. As soon as a person has put in enough thought to write a book on their experience, they have exhausted as much useful effort as they can into developing the idea in the context of their own life. Developing the idea further would require the particular advice to be tested out in multiple lives, to which differences and similarities may manifest themselves. With effective awareness, reflection, and discourse, more useful ideas will be refined further, combined with other ideas, and flipped entirely to the point where the idea won’t even be recognized as a point in a self-help book, but maybe a culturally ingrained value.
I think this is a very useful mechanism in society for evolving with the times. Ideas on living a Good life are carried out somewhat autocratically by the previously mentioned narrowing powers of society, culture, and family. While eliminating the con of elusiveness, the purpose of life becomes empty, contrived, and incoherent with the individuals own experience, no matter how rooted to their society or family they are. The future will always bring some deviation from the past into the next generation. Besides their own minds, where else can people get ideas on living a good life from? There are some gems of wisdom in more archaic forms of knowledge, but maybe they wouldn’t be grasped well enough unless illustrated in the relatable ways a contemporary’s anecdote or biography can show. But then again, I don’t want to just listen to someone who said something in a heated moment, or an inconsequential tweet from people with no demonstrably envious qualities. That reduces my scope of relevant discovery to a very limited number of materials.
I’m not saying that these are the only materials one needs to develop as an individual, or that this is the only mechanism needed for society to plan for all of the future’s contingencies. There are certain externalities that are only captured within the realm of self-help. Deep, individualistic needs that aren’t convincing enough in more general realms, and aren’t effective enough in more narrow realms. This realm of self-help, is a great way to bring out unrefined ideas into the public that also need the intimate experimentation and reflection of other individuals in order to be further developed.
I got way off track in this post. I was originally going to center this post around two self-help books I recently read: 12 Rules for Life by the edgy Jordan B. Peterson and Grit by academic Angela Duckworth. In short, I came out of reading these two books with a great appreciation for what both books taught me but also a confusion as to how the useful concepts of both books were related, and even how they contradicted in subtle ways. For example, 12 Rules is adamant on focusing on a very micro approach to life that eventually grows greater in scope corresponding to the increases in discipline and competence of the individual. This is illustrated in the lessons of ‘cleaning your room’ and ‘negotiating with yourself’ and many other forms of baseline life skills that plant the seeds for future success. On the other hand, Grit takes a more macro view of the world and outlines a method of specifically developing greater goals and then interconnecting them with other goals of reducing value and urgency.
Both ideas, after careful reading, were deemed heavily applicable in my life, and I am constantly bouncing these ideas off in my routine. During this experimentation phase, I’m having trouble not understanding the value of these lessons, but achieving some sort of coherence within these ideas. One has me viewing life in simple blocks while the other is encouraging me to develop a purpose through deliberate thought. Both can be achieved, but how can one complement the other? I just KNOW that cleaning my room and developing discipline will in turn help me define my interests, goals, and dreams, but how specifically can I understand the when and how of these jumping points remains a mystery to me.
Overall this incoherence does not bother me too much. This is such a free-form kind of thought that is reminiscent of the mindset I get into when writing music. It is a kind of driving force that doesn’t need absolute or even strong assurance in order to move forward. This sort of thought process can cause debilitation and anxiety for sure, to which I always come back to a statement this one artist on that one netflix show about artists said that one time I was watching netflix. -> I actually don’t remember what she said but I remember she said the words ‘state of play’ in the context of art, and it really resonated with me. That’ll probably be the topic of my next post. But anyways, that’s how I think one should approach the area of purpose and meaning in their life so as to not grow weary or frustrated in the process of philosophizing. Be in a state->of->play, take in other people’s experiences and evaluate them against how the other person is to you (not by what anybody ‘says’, words are so cheap and deceptive), think about how these experiences pertain to your life, experiment, and just have fun.
Life is fun ain’t it
