as much as i love sam knowing about destiel before dean does, there's something about "i mean yeah my brother and his angel best friend are really weird about each other, live together, co-parent a kid, nearly kill themselves every time the other is gone, stand too close and stare at the other's mouth while they talk, but i mean to each their own i guess??" that's so special to me

it’s so funny going into monsterfucker spaces and seeing people argue about whether Venom is a tame monster crush or not and I think I figured out why ppl argue about it. I think there’s two separate levels to liking Venom and people just don’t specify which one they’re talking about
the first is what most people think of: you want Venom when they’re in a separate host and in their more humanoid form. they look like just a really tall guy, and you’ve got some monster traits involved but not quite as many as level two. this is the tame level.
the second level is when you want to be their host. you’re pulling an eddie brock— you’re fucking the slime that lives inside of you and cannot take on a humanoid form outside of yourself. it’s just a mass of black goop that lives in your organs and speaks to you in your head. this is why some people would consider Venom a more extreme monster crush

Misunderstandings and Miscommunications
Back at it again with some
✨️ Shenanigans ✨️
Brain rot.
Here goes.
So Danny finally tells his parents the truth (Phantom Planet not happening in this AU) and due to his anxiety and fear takes their disbelief and horror and yelling (not mad or angry but like worried yelling) as rejecting him.
They had rejected Vlad a few weeks ago when he had been caught as Plasmius but they only rejected him because they had found out he had been trying to kill Jack in order to get to Maddie and had been hurting Danny behind their backs while also trying to get him to denounce Jack as his dad, it had nothing to do with him being part ghost.
They do love Danny and are just horrified their invention had killed their baby boy and that they had been trying to hurt him for a last few years because they didn't know he was Phantom (but the clues, oh the clues were staring at them in the face now, how blind they were to it oh.)
Due to Danny's panic he runs off into the Infinite Realms in order to hide with one of his ghost friends but.... he runs into some trouble (Skulker? Walker? idk pick any) and gets tossed in a random portal that had opened up.
And finds himself in the DC verse.
Danny accidentally falls into a huge battle as well and when he spots the heroes trying to protect the city he fell into from some huge evil villain he helps out despite his own emotions (it helps distract him from what he 'thinks' happened between him and his parents)
And once he's done helping he books it cause he need to process everything and doesn't stop when the hero he helped out called out to him, and phases out and turns invisible if the hero tries to stop him to talk. It isn't long until Danny is in a new city and finds some more people to help from villains and evil, and he starts using it to distract himself.
Basically Danny aimlessly wanders around and starts helping anyone to keep his mind off the thought of never being able to go home again.
Meanwhile his parents are PANICKING about not being to find Danny after he runs. They try calling his friends, but the moment they hear the Fenton's say they know about him being Phantom they too jump the gun and think Danny was rejected. They both yell, not letting the Fenton's say anything, and let slip Danny most likely is hiding in the Infinite Realms (aka the Zone) if hes not in Amity.
Tucker and Sam immediately hang up and call Jazz, whose at college, before the Fenton parents could and tell her what happened. And Jazz isn't happy.
Despite being so smart and willing to give their parents so many chances to change their views on Ghosts, she's not a child anymore and isn't going to let them hurt Danny (they don't want to). She starts making her way home to give her parents a piece of her mind.
But by the time she gets there, driving all night, her parents are missing and she finds a video message on the computer from Tucker explaining they had snuck into the house to go into the portal to try to find Danny only to see the Fenton parents suiting up and going into the zone with the Specter Speeder and Boo-o-rang keyed to Danny. "No doubt they're going to hunt Danny down, we're going to try to slow them down and find Danny before they do Jazz! We left an extra Boo-o-rang behind keyed on Danny's signature come help us when you get this message! Take Danny's Specter Bike I made sure the keylock is off!" (Let's pretend Tucker tinkered with the design of the Specter Speeder and made some bike versions, with Danny and funnily enough Johnny 13's help, it was fun bonding thing they all did)
Jazz is even more livid after that. Takes a few things and heads to the portal as well, hopefully to find Danny first before her parents.
By the time Jazz finds the portal that opens to the DC verse she's in Gotham, runs into Red Hood (and helps take down some gang goons but in the process her Boo-o-rang gets busted in the scuffle) and basically they talk. She asks if he's seen any runaway blue eyed black haired young teens around and Jason jokingly says "Nope but we better find him before the Big Bad Bat takes him and turns him into a Robin."
Jazz is very confused.
MEANWHILE
The Fenton parents are of course making a menace of themselves... They're driving around (which is a warning enough if Jack is behind the wheel) trying to find Danny to explain that they do love him and to come back home, and when they do find Danny he freaks out and starts booking it again (right as he actually stopped to talk enough with a hero too). The heroes of the DC verse whose meet Danny and those that heard about some young 'meta' teen whose been helping out and is very powerful, take note how scared and panicked he looked when facing the two and things get worse when they take note how... careless they are going after him (cause we know the Fenton's get a little extreme) and add the fact they look like mad scientists too (they haven't been sleeping well since Danny ran off)
So the DC heroes start assuming the worse for the young teen hero...
It gets even much WORSE when Tucker and Sam, who are hot on the Fenton's heels as well, show up and eventfully tell them what happened (or what they think happened) when they gain their trust.
Basically, a lot of miscommunication happens.
Danny thinks he needs to be on the run from his parents and is helping out in the DC verse to keep his mind off his own breaking heart from the rejection (if you wanna make it serious maybe have his actual core in danger from the rejection or something). And is nearly adopted by every hero who see's this sad ghost kid.
His parents are labeled mad scientists (kinda are) who are hunting Phantom down to end him or experiment on him but they actually DO love him and just want their son come back home. (due to being Fenton's they do kinda accidentally cause a lot of mayhem in their wake)
Tucker and Sam are trying to be amazing friends and stopping the Fenton's from hurting their best friend but much like Danny they are a bit too caught up in their emotions to realize the truth of what happened and may or may not alerted the JL and JLD why Danny is on the run in the first place. (when they had down time to find out where they were they found out about the meta protection laws and is kinda using that to get Danny help)
Jazz is in Gotham, has no way to track Danny down at the moment, is talking with Red Hood (coughAngerManagementcough) about finding her brother and saving him from her parents before they do anything to hurt him. Cue Red Hood (and maybe with the help of the Outlaws) helping Jazz go find her brother.
This can be serious but I mostly see it being silly with nothing but shenanigans and a lot of miscommunication.

No offense but I find the fact that people call Wooly and Amanda "Abusers" or "Agressors" weird because these are literal children
Yes, Wooly trying to follow the script isn't helping them out, Amanda's actions get progressively more terrifying because she's desperate to get out of the tape..
But they're not abusers????? They're literally kids. Children that are trapped in nightmare tapes haunted by the fact that they're dead and this is their life for all eternity unless they can find some way out.
And even if wooly is a 'Sentient AI' as people have been theorizing he'd still the ai of a child,
and they CLEARLY care about each other. Theyre clearly friends. Even if the behavior is off.
But the more one denies being dead/trapped to play along (potentially out of fear) and the other wants to break the script to get them m(maybe both of them) out it doesn't mix good
Neither of their actions are excused of course, not saying what they did was right (because both of their actions regarding being trapped have flaws) but they aren't "abusers". They're kids trapped in a horrible situation. They're most likely victims of the actual tormentors.
Which, of course, would be the people at Hameln
(More notes in the posts tags)
Edit: more of me talking about this in reblogs!

There’s a Swedish saying that translates as "if you’ve accepted Old Nick onto your boat, you’d better get him to shore", and it basically means "if you’ve bitten off more than you can chew you had still better see it through because it was your choice" and that’s what I hear every time Sam looks at Jamie Like That when Jamie wants sympathy for the Absurd Demands Roy makes of him once they've started up their whole ~training~ thing.

I love everyone reblogging that comic like "I don't go here, but this is really cute!!" like first of all Thank You I Love You, and secondly, one such person tagged it as "gay men" and I'm just like alsjsksjssk close!! it's a fruity little man and a beautiful butch woman, but I can see where the confusion comes from I suppose

thinking about how imogen always always weighs pros and cons before she talks to people. it's not always the most objective process in the world, especially if she's being brain-tainted by a magical rock or just having a Really Bad Time in general, but she is analytical and careful in the way that she engages with people she doesn't trust. she is always toeing the line of "i'm giving you just enough of myself to allow you to cautiously trust me and/or give me what i want and no more," and the mental walls she's put up to hide her vulnerabilities go so high that they blend in with the sky. people think they know who imogen is, but they only know what she decides that they need to know in order for them to have a workable relationship, whatever that might mean for that particular person. imogen is in Control of those parameters
i think she spent the vast majority of the otohan fight trying to toe that same line, trying to fall back on the same strategies that she has before. "enough! let's end this" is just enough to say "i'm willing to have a conversation" but not enough to show quite how much she actually cares for this group or how desperate she is to stop the violence. constant fluctuations between aggressive spellcasting and telepathic attempts to have said conversation with otohan – it's her attempt to stay in Control of something that is rapidly slipping out of her grasp, to hold her ground and assert her dominance
but then. otohan looks to laudna, and it all falls apart instantly. otohan, basically by guessing and checking, found the one thing that can bypass all of imogen's defenses (defenses that even orym and fearne's deaths couldn't quite bring down) and go straight to her core and Hurt, and in that moment imogen shows all of her cards, and i mean all of them. she could've stopped at "i'll go with you! i give in" and maybe that could be interpreted as "this is the last straw. i won't let you kill another one of my friends." but tacking on the desperate "don't hurt her" is that trump card that she holds closer to the chest than any other. it's a clear indication that the last straw here is the fact that it's laudna specifically. and hearing that, having pried every last bit out of the ordinarily so calculating and guarded imogen, otohan knows Exactly what to do next.

It wasn't that Mon said no.
It was that Mon made it clear she only saw Sam as an Honorable Lady.
Sam, several times in the series, has professed that her status isn't anything important, and has made overtures to get people to stop treating her differently - like telling Aon he could treat her as a normal person over the phone in Ep 3; telling Mon that her rank was only one step above being a commoner when Mon questioned that she didn't eat only Royal Thai food in Ep 2; and more recently, when she tried to get Pohn and Aon to sit back up on the couch when she sat on the floor to pet Singha, Ep 9.
As much as Sam benefits from her status (and definitely leans into it sometimes!), for the majority of her life, being an Honorable Lady has been a suffocating shackle keeping her tied down to her grandmother and her grandmother's expectations of her, up to and including requiring Sam to get married, have children, and give her company to Kirk to become a stay-at-home mother, etc. You see these expectations in her teenage flashbacks, all the way up through Neung and Song's flashbacks as well, and then more and more during the present shown in the show.
So, not only has Sam lived with her Honorable Lady title creating trauma and repression for her her whole life, but she's also seen her sisters suffer from the title as well, when who they were conflicted with the expectations of their rank.
...
So what does this all mean?
It means that, growing up the way she did, it's clear that under everything, Sam wanted someone to see her. Not her title, not her family, but just... her.
Kirk didn't see her as just Sam. Her grandmother certainly didn't, as well as her employees. She was a celebrity with interviews that she lied in, so fans never would, and her friends came close, but it wasn't the same with them; Sam still felt that they laughed at her, and she never truly bared her soul or confided private things to them.
But then along came Mon!
Mon, who dared to treat Sam like she hadn't been treated before. Who stood up to her, and wasn't afraid to speak or act plainly around her, in a different way than her friends did. It was this defiance and familiarity that initially made Mon stand out, which led to her being hired as the admin for Diversity Pop. And it was this defiance and familiarity that continued to keep Sam drawn to her, far past solely existing as employer and employee.
Because to Sam's joy (and sometimes frustration, let's be real), Mon didn't stop treating her any differently! For example, she dared to tickle Sam back in Ep 3, didn't immediately drop to the floor when Sam went down on her knees to become ChamCham in Ep 6, and then actually wanted to be her girlfriend in Ep 7! Aside from her predominant use of Lady Sam (which, expected), and random comments here and there that seemed to ease after Sam stated they'd get to slowly know each other in Ep 4, Sam was pretty well convinced that she knew where she and Mon stood.
That they were lovers. That Mon loved her just like Sam loved her back. That Mon saw their relationship the same as Sam saw it.
That, finally, Sam could be herself with someone who had seen past her title to simply love her for who she really was. (Helped her become better too, yes, but still, for who she really was.)
But then Mon looked at her after rejecting her marriage proposal, and answered her "Why?" with, "I'm not good enough for you, Lady Sam. You are the Honorable Lady. I'm just a commoner."
And that's when Sam went silent.
Because Sam realized that her belief in how Mon saw their relationship, her belief in how Mon thought there was any future in their relationship, and her belief in how Mon saw her was wrong.
And it all came crashing down.
Why Mon was so resistant to Sam breaking up with Kirk so she and Sam could date publicly.
Why Mon didn't want her to repeal her One Rule at work (and presumably date openly) because it would make people look badly at Sam.
Why Mon was suddenly hesitant to hold her hand in public.
Why Mon was always so quick to say she didn't have any good points or she wasn't worth it whenever Sam broached something about their relationship.
All of this wasn't just because they were two women, but because Mon, aside from suddenly being concerned that they were two women, thought that she and Sam were two women who couldn't be seen together for a different reason than just homophobia.
Because all Mon was ultimately concerned with...
Was Sam's rank.
Her title.
Her privileged place in society.
And how Mon was different than her.
Was less than.
Would never be good enough for her.
That, in her eyes, not just in the eyes of others, Mon would never be able to see her or love her as an equal.
Because Mon was a commoner...
And Sam was an Honorable Lady.
...
So no. It wasn't Mon saying no.
It was, even if Mon meant it or not, Mon telling Sam that their relationship was built on a lie that Sam had ever been seen or loved for who she really was.
And that fucking sucks.

The more I think about the CSI: Vegas cancellation the more gutted I am.
I’m close with mum. She visits my house two evenings a week, I cook us dinner and we watch TV. Mum doesn’t do anything remotely sci-fi or fantasy. Sometimes I will put the Librarians on because it’s my comfort show and as she loves me she tolerates it. However, usually I try and put on something that she likes and that I can tolerate.
So I go back to crime shows. That’s what we started out watching together over 20 years ago but I find my tolerance for them has waned over the years. For instance Mum likes Blue Bloods but eventually I had to say nope, sorry, I just can’t watch it anymore however pretty I thought Erin was sometimes.
CSI Vegas - I am not immune to the nostalgia. I always liked the science angle rather than just pure copganda. It’s something I’ll actually watch on my own and not just with mum. Plus you know Catherine, always my favourite character (if Sofia had been in OG CSI longer there would have been competition. Ah Sofia I will never forget you).
When I googled about CSI Vegas I saw NCIS Hawai’i has also been canned. Beautiful setting, I love Tennant, so competent. Two lesbian main characters in a happy committed relationship. Yet this one gets cancelled while the juggernaut OG goes for the 22nd season /sigh.
Now we can do rewatching and I do prioritise what I prefer for that obviously (I’m not an idiot), but ugh! I have rewatched CSI quite a bit so new CSI was great and now no more :(
I really am sad.

brief break from the lord eclipse posting for some nice eclipse posting:
I rediscovered this song “you smell of dead flowers” and the last few lines immediately reminded of solar and his sun and I just grgrhergraragh!!!!!
“You smell of dead flowers / I smell of the sewer I rot in” has the vibe of solar thinking back on his sun, who maybe once had a sweet scent to him but the memory has since been tarnished and twisted with grief that dead flowers are the only thing that come to mind. that, paired with the next line, gives the impression that he puts himself below his sun; that he is something that rots and pollutes(“because if I wasn’t, my sun wouldn’t be dead, right?”).
The next lines hammer that in some more, with “I’m ashamed of all I am now / and all I am now / is painful” really cementing the vibe of his low self worth and I just. I just!!! Idk!!! It makes me terribly emotional to think of their dynamic and how solar could harbor a lot of grief, regret, and self hatred because of what he “did” to his sun and i’m just. ueueueue,,,,,
