(Stefano Maderno, Santa Cecilia, marbre blanc, 1599, Chiesa Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, Roma)
le cheminement de tes simples voiles sur ton corps tragique m'indique la pureté de tes gestes, la noblesse de ton courage ; main légère posée dans l'expression de la tourmente que le souffle de la mort n’a pas pris, main du dernier chant que l’on écoute encore

The Humans of the Court of Fortunes
Saint (he/they)
Saint wandered through a fae portal as a child and was found by a fae from the Court of Storms, who treated him as more of a pet or a doll than anything else. They were found by one of Ki-moon's distant cousins, who killed the fae and took the child. Saint has been raised in the Court of Fortunes ever since, and has grown into a adventurous and perhaps overly curious young adult.
Nora (she/her)
Nora was recruited by a member of the court who heard her sing and offered her eternal youth if she'd come live in the court and perform. In many courts, the deal would've been too good to be true, but it wasn't. She's lived here for the past 200 or so years, and is far happier than she ever was in the mortal realm.
Linda (she/her)
Linda was bargained away as a baby, not from an unloving parent, but from a mother who knew her child would not be safe in the mortal realm, due to the type of people her family were. Living in the fae realm is the only life she's ever known, but it's never been a bad one. She has a talent for blacksmithing that's served her well over the years and she's thrived here in a way she wouldn't have in the human realm. She's aroace and is relieved that she's never once been expected to marry here.
Cecil (he/him)
Cecil made a terrible bargain with a member of the Twilight Court to escape an awful home situation. He would have done anything to get out of that nightmare, only to jump right into a different kind of hell. He helped out a member of the Court of Fortunes when they were injured and the other broke off his original deal. Cecil hadn't even known that was possible. He couldn't return home, so when he was offered a place in the Court of Fortunes, he accepted without hesitation. It's the happiest he's ever been.

Gotta love how my parents always told me that I was a wanted child, my birth parents just couldn’t financially support me and then I dig a little too deep and find out that they filed for divorce a little less than nine months before I was born
I mean I figured I was an accident because I was born in December and March (saint Patrick’s day) is nine months before hand but damn

One thing that gives me gender envy is that in both Greek mythology (The Muses) and in Catholicism (Sainte Cecille (Catholicism is a yuck with her as the one exception)) musicians and artists are represented by women, and as a transfem artist, that makes me very happy to think about :3

Transistor Chapter 23
“Oh,” Rachel said. “That barely counts as magic.”
Cecile looked up at Naomi and Anika. “See what I live with?” she asked in an affectionate tone.
Dragon Tardis cloth is cool and I want some so I can burrito myself away from all of my responsibilities, please and thank you.
Also Rachel and Cecile remain fucking adorable.
