I'm about to get really sappy, but I genuinely love the Bob's Burgers community/fandom here so much and how tightly knit it is 🫶🏼

Just posted my fic for the last day of Roudise Week (which was, ironically, the first fic I completed) and I've got to admit, it is making me a little emotional!
it has really meant a lot to me to see everybody's art, headcanons, playlists, fic, and discussions celebrating these two over this week! They just mean so much me to me. It was really the need for more content about these two that lead me to reading fic on A03, then writing fic, then coming to this ridiculous site.
So thanks to everyone who participated in this week for ensuring that now there is even more Roudise content! I appreciate each and every one of you!
And I most especially appreciate the amazing @devilh0rnsinc for organizing this whole thing!

This sounds a bit sad, but I'm someone who used to have absolutely zero faith in my artistic abilities. I've been writing my entire life, and haven't had too many self-confidence issues with that (well, I've gotten down on myself about my writing before, but I've gotten a lot better about that). I've always known I have the ability to write, as I've been doing it almost my entire life.
But drawing was a different story. I used to always tell myself "Ha! I just need to stick to writing. I'll never be able to draw. Are you kidding? Look at all of these talented artists. And look at these gorgeous realistic anatomy they can do!! I'll never be able to do that. I have no artistic ability whatsoever. It's just not my thing."
That was really my first mistake, comparing myself to other artists, and judging my ability to draw before I even tried. But another thing that really lowered my confidence in my artistic abilities was this one moment in my English class my Sophomore year of high school. We had this assignment to make a short comic based on the story The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe. I'm sure everyone knows that story. I did mine, and forgot to sign it at first, and my teacher saw. He was always a harsh grader, but he held up my paper, not knowing it was mine, and called it Kindergarten work. In front of the entire class. Needless to say, I was mortified. I immediately redid the assignment, losing almost all of my faith in my own artistic abilities.
But something changed when the Pandemic hit. I got an iPad, which made digital drawing so much easier and more fun. And I just had a lot of time on my hands because of lockdowns. And I thought to myself: Huh. Well, maybe I don't have to draw realistically. Maybe I can practice my drawing skills more by drawing more cartoony art.
And that's exactly what I did. And now I'm proud to say I'm actually confident in my art now!! I sort of have my own style now, which has definitely evolved over the years. I guess that's just what can happen when you practice and try to push aside the self-doubt festering in the back of your mind. It wasn't always easy, but I kept trying to encourage myself instead of just putting myself down.
Now I can proudly say that I've gotten paid for my art, and my clients were all thrilled with the results so far. And I can't wait to keep drawing for people and making them happy. I think I've definitely come a long way from so-called "Kindergarten work".

Hey! It’s Rudy and Louise in some of their most iconic costumes (imho) for the Roudise week warm up on Halloween day over at @roudiseshipweek
All I’m saying is the tattoo was on Louise’s right arm and she’s right handed so she had to get someone to draw it on. Why not her bff Rudy? His costume probably didn’t require as much prep work so he would’ve had the time.
~I’m planning on doing ship week age appropriately without age ups. So lots of kiddos being cute. Maybe holding hands or other sweet nine year old things. Platonic besties or young crushes however you want to read it. ;)

Finally got around to making it happen! This blog is the official blog for the Roudise Ship Week 2023! I hope you all are as excited as I am that these two finally made it to having a week dedicated to them. Whether you ship them Romantically or Platonically, this week is about celebrating this wonderful duo! I encourage you all to get involved even if It’s just supporting the talented artists. The week will be from December 11th to the 17th, 7 days to show off your wonderful creations! What creations are allowed? Absolutely anything: Fanart, Fanfic, Animations, Moodboards, Headcannons, Analysis, Videos and even Playlists! We do have a ship week @roudiseshipweek !! We acc run it together. And the fanart isn’t garbage! I mean if this is you saying that my art isn’t great then okay. VERY based opinion.
Just think about what you’re gonna write before you ask me something like that. This is so incredibly rude and I am shocked that this community would even say things like this.
If you don’t ship Roudise that’s fine! I have a lot of mutuals that don’t and I get along with them very well.

Oh gosh, this one is hard. I've had so much fun with all of first I've written. But if I had to choose...I think the chapter fics I wrote for the ship weeks this year. Allow me to list them:

What's this?? Another piece already?? I know, it's crazy!!
But I just had the absolute pleasure of doing a Roudise/Louwheeze Comm for @sailoreuterpe as a very special gift to @devilh0rnsinc and @ltwharfy!! It's as a sort of thank you for being the captains of the Roudise ship and running such a wonderful Roudise Week back in December, and to get back at that horrible anon who sent Devil that awful message.
But on a lighter note, this piece was an absolute blast to work on. Nikki chose my simple sketch style, so I ended up going a bit extra and doing some simple monochromatic coloring and shading for her at no extra cost. I thought it would make it even cuter and give it even more of a romantic vibe. I decided it would be a very cute concept to have the two of them kissing, but Rudy is actually wearing Louise's bunny ears, as a symbol of how much they trust each other now. And I also thought it would be cute if Rudy was sort of getting even with Louise for her surprise kiss in Bob, Actually, and giving Louise a surprise kiss.

10. A blog (mutual or one you follow) that has made your fandom experience brighter
Is it cheating to say all my mutuals? Because honestly, I wouldn't follow folks if they weren't making my experience brighter.
Okay, maybe that is cheating, so I'll mention two in particular:
@babsvibes just does so much to make the "Bob's Burgers" community on here a fun place to be! Sending asks, coming up with different types of games and activities (like the spreadsheet that has taken over my mind), and helping organize ship weeks and other events- the list goes on, and she does it all with a positive, welcoming attitude.
@devilh0rnsinc the reason I ended up joining this site initially was because I needed more Roudise content, so Devil's blog was a godsend (heh). A wonderful artist and a kind person who shares my fondness for Rudy and his relationship with Louise. I'll always be grateful to her for starting Roudise Week, and when she did artwork inspired by my story "Happy Anniversary (Whenever It Is)" it was one of the coolest things that's happened to me in fandom!

I write for mostly The Legend of Zelda and Bob's Burgers, but I have written for Escape Room and had thoughts about Six of Crows stuff. And that one Uncle Obi-Wan fic I did for flufftober last year.

The first and third aren't surprising, they're both older works of mine. Too Late is an angsty coldfalsh fic I wrote back when I was into the the Flash/Legends of Tomorrow. A Life Interrupted is my unfinished Roudise soulmate au (perhaps the upcoming theme week will motivate me to finish).
I was actually really happy to see Seeking Solace With You to be the second most popular. It's one that I'm proud of, and put a bit more into emotion-wise.
I'm actually surprised Stay in Bed and I Met You in a Closet (both zelink) made it into the top five as I didn't think they were my best works.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I respond to some of them. I'm a bit shy/anxious and I tend to overthink what I say. I absolutely love every comment I get, and I read every one even if I'm slow to respond.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
That would be Too Late, as it deals with the aftermath of The Flash's season three finale where Barry enters the speedforce (I had to refresh my memory of what happened it's been so long, haha).
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Since I love happy endings, there's a few of them. I'll highlight two and cheat a little:
A Call to Ears: A roudise fic where Louise catches Rudy trying on her bunny ears.
And
Dancing with Freckles and Glasses: a Telink fic post Wind Waker where Link helps Tetra practice dancing before a ball.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Luckily no, even when I make typos and errors.
9. Do you write smut?
I do not. The most I do is hint and let readers make their own decisions.
10. Do you write crossovers?
No, not really.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
As far as I know, I have not.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have not.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I cheat again, as I love both Roudise and zelink.
But I also love a lot of ships that I don't write, but read and enjoy canon material of.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
There are a few I have in early stages of writing in notebooks or scraps in a word doc, not much of note.
I suppose A Life Interrupted is one that I have no idea if I'll actually finish since I would have to think of a new way to end it. A good gist of what I may have originally meant as an ending can be read in Hidden in Plain Slide where I have some of my headcannon of Louise not liking things changing is on display, as well as the running away after a confession.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I had a comment on a fic that mentioned nonsexual intimacy and friendship underlying the characters attraction, and I would say that I always try to write relationships that feel balanced in their romantic elements.
I also think I've learned how to tell when something is working and when something is needed to make it work. Especially keeping character's true to their characterizations as best I can. So long as it sounds proper, I'm happy.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing multi-chapter fics. It haunts me that I haven't finished A Life Interrupted, and every so often I think of it.
I could stand to go over my writing for typos and mistakes more. If I think about it too much, I'm sure I could think of a million things.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
I could only do French outside of English, but I wouldn't. While I'm technically bilingual, I'm fairly rusty and don't have confidence to write a whole story in French.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
It would either be Harry Potter or the City of Ember all the way back in my fanfic.org days.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
I'm going to cheat again and list some I haven't mentioned yet:
Morning Person (roudise)
Burger Approval (zekina, with the Bob and Zeke relationship as a focus)
