Musa’s Discography Pt.2

First Full Album. Written throughout the second half of s3 and the first month of summer. Published int he summer between s3 and s4

This one again didn’t have a specific theme though I did try to go for a vibe. Like, this is Musa writing to cope with everything that’s going on whilst trying to ignore her mental health issues so there are one or two ‘darker’ songs when she couldn’t write smth happy or at least not act like everything is fine.

Not sure if I worded that correctly. Here goes:

Afterglow by Taylor Swift.

This is perfect to me as an opening track right before Rivusa have made up she writes this because well… it just fits a lot and I think it’s perfect to open an album that’s kinda Musa just trying to look at the brighter side and ignore the bad shit going on or trying to act like everything will be fine

The Louvre by Lorde.

I see Musa writing this towards the start of summer as a fun summer track to distract herself as she tries to figure out where to stay

Best Friend by Conan Gray.

This was written in bits and pieces over s2 and s3 and it’s just about the squads, I can see her basing it off of the platonic soulmates, like the final part is a super old recording of Sky when Stella told him an ex called her before s1

New Romantics by Taylor Swift.

Another fun summer song to cover up the sadness in an iconic way. I love this song way too much, it deserves more hype

Blue by Madison Beer.

Another track co-written by Helia, story-based. This is the first time the tiniest bit of darkness slips through mostly on the production

Exhale by Sabrina Carpenter.

One of few songs where Musa is fully honest and lets herself go a bit, but I still don’t really count it as one of the ‘darker’ songs. She wrote this before gaining Enchantix

Tornado Warnings by Sabrina Carpenter.

This one was one that she wrote in one night with Helia when neither could sleep and after Musa had lied to her therapist pre-Enchantix, so they just took the phrase ‘lying to my therapist’ and made up a little story as they do

Out of the Woods by Taylor Swift.

This song is peak Rivusa s3 for me, like- just both of them being so bad at relationships but wanting to be in one regardless and just UUGGGGHHHH love them

Sober by Lorde.

First slightly ‘darker’ song, was meant to be a summer bop but turned a bit darker. Here is where the album goes on a tiny spiral. I say tiny cause she won’t really go ‘dark’ till the second album

Stay Numb and Carry On by Madison Beer.

First song she wrote after gaining Enchantix. Kinda wrote a few nonsensical lyrics before pulling them together for the verses and the chorus is just how weird she felt after gaining Enchantix

Follow the White Rabbit by Madison Beer.

Another song she wrote soon after gaining Enchantix. Co-written by Helia cause that song to me is Helia-coded when he’s in a bad mental space…

Tell Em by Sabrina Carpenter.

More light-hearted, wrote it after Tecna ranted about Timmy and about how if they did started dating she’d be stressed about people knowing. Started writing it in s2 while Tecna wouldn’t shut up about Timmy. ‘Cause I’m falling down like I’m summer rain’ Idk why but to me that’s such a Tecna-coded line

idontwannabeyouanymore by Billie Eilish.

Probably the darkest Musa gets in this album, I almost see this as the mirror of Exhale. This was after she kinda processed everything that happened after gaining Enchantix and a few intense therapy sessions

Shadows by Sabrina Carpenter.

It just fits so well at first. I can see her writing this about lit the whole squad before gaining Enchantix, it doesn’t fit as much after that.

Giant by Yuqi.

This would kinda be her way to close the album in a more ‘positive, don’t worry I’m totally fine, I’ll be alright ajajaja rise up like a giant yeah…’ way. Basically she wrote it as a way to tell everyone don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine

Now, on to, the extra tracks of the deluxe version! Oh yeah we’re getting way too specific!!!

The deluxe version comes out after she’s taken in by Tecna’s family.

Deluxe version includes:

skinny dipping by Sabrina Carpenter.

Wrote this during her time at the Wujin Festival whilst the squad went backstage to chat and have fun, performed it on her last day. Little details about almost everyone ‘Oatmilk latte in your name’ is Stella. ‘Arguments in your garage’ is Riven/Timmy, ‘Shannon’s being Shannon’ imagine she said Lexie. Etc.

Bigger Than the Whole Sky by Taylor Swift.

Wrote this while Tecna was in Omega, didn’t want to publish it originally but Tecna cried when she heard it and said she should

i love you by Billie Eilish.

Written during the Rivusa fights and the reconcilation. Very vulnerable so she was hesitant to include it at first but decided to go for it

Labyrinth by Taylor Swift.

Written by Helia about Flora, it was originally a poem. Musa loved it and together they modified a line or two to make it into a song

The Best Day by Taylor Swift.

Musa wrote it whilst sobbing after the Crystal Labyrinth, she wanted to write about the good times she remembered and kinda just sing about her mom’s life instead of her death if that makes sense. Decided to include it in the deluxe version last second cause it felt so personal

decode by Sabrina Carpenter.

This is about her dad. Written after the Wujin Festival and Musa choosing to stop trying to mend their relationship.

That was a long one phew… that’s the first album!!! Yay!!!

I never liked Musa/Riven ship.Musa deserves much better.And i think Darcy is better with Riven than Musa.Also Tecna and Timmy are underrated couple and need more love.

I definitely understand where you're coming from *as a huge Rivusa shipper*. And even though I ship them, I will admit that their relationship is unhealthy on both sides. While I do agree that Musa deserved better, Riven did too. Such as the times when they were together Musa blatantly flirted with Jason Queen and kept acting to impress him. Musa had a crush on some other guys even while she was in the relationship with Riven, and so Riven got jealous (rightfully so.) Another thing to add is that often times Musa will expect others (especially Riven) to somehow magically know how she's feeling without telling them. Which often leads her to becoming frustrated with him when he has no clue what's the matter with her. In other words she has trouble expressing her emotions freely and blames it on Riven when he's unable to understand why she's upset. I'd also like to add that Musa sometimes got angry at him for no reason and pushed him away when he was trying to be nice/supportive. (Also! I am not throwing all of the shade towards Musa, I just wanted to point out how Musa definitely wasn't the saint of the relationship, since people tend to completely ignore that fact. Riven wasn't a saint either, he was so snarky and had a really bad attitude. He was also pretty possessive and cold. They absolutely had their bad times but they also had a lot of cute and healthy moments.

As for Riven/Darcy (Driven) I think that they will always be iconic, but Rivusa is engame.

When it comes to Tecna/Timmy (idk their ship name, I'm sorry) I don't exactly have a strong opinion on their relationship. For the most part I firmly believe that they're just involved with each other platonically rather than romantically (I hc Tecna as a lesbian)

I wasn't intending for this to turn out so long, my apologies! I'm just so hyperfixtated on Winx lmao😭

These bitches get into flirting competitions with other people without getting jealous!! They're both convinced that their the hottest person of their gender to ever exist and that it's only natural that they'd also end up with the other hottest person. They're both really nice and stupid as fuck but in completely different ways. Stella no fucking hesitation jumped off a cliff for Brandon and when Stella got turned into a monster Brandon simply decided that he was into monsters now I guess, but Stella is now and will forever be his number one.

Brandon is a fucking dork who is not getting paid enough for this shit and Stella is his ADHD queen

Listen this may be a Rivusa account, but if Rivusa didn't hit that perticualr gold of two mentally ill dorks in love this would be a Brella account

Despite all the bullshit these two have gone though together, pretending that everything after s3 didn't happen, they never once fell to petty arguments and just trusted and loved eachother without the bullshit and I respect them for it so hard

I have a confession to make. I love many ships with my whole heart, i'm obsessed with Jiara/Rivusa/Chenford/Nace ets, BUT i dont think i've ever felt the sheer joy and whiplash like i felt in the 2x05 Bellarke hug scene. It was the scene that made me fully obsessed with them, i was Bellamy in that scene seriously. I dont know what it was, but it was the most perfect scene. Her running and jumping to him, the music, his reaction, everything was perfect and i've never felt so good. pt1

Yeah, I know what you mean. That scene…. Yeah that was just one of those scenes that’s gonna hold up forever. It was SO good. Easily one of the most iconic ship scenes of all time. I think Bellamy’s reaction touched me the most. The genuine surprise that she was in his arms and cared that he was alive. Bellarke in the early seasons did enemies to reluctant allies to best friends to lovers more perfectly than any ship I’ve ever seen and I think that scene perfectly encapsulates that.

S1-S2 Bellarke really did nail the tension of “do you hate me? Do you care about me?” the best but I genuinely think all Bellarke S1-4 was… something else. And I am someone who went absolutely feral over S6 Bellarke but it was never 100% the same post time jump. I loved them but it was two different people.

In conclusion. We deserve to see a true Bellarke done right.

(My actual favorite line is the very last one but that’s a spoiler so have this one -which is very funny- instead!)

This is my first review of a fic from an author I didn’t actually know beforehand or wasn’t familiar with their work, and I was blown away!

I haven’t read a lot of retell-of-canon-through-3rd-party-character fics (Not even sure what they’re called, that name seems like a mouthfull) but I clicked in this fic in AO3 because Craig- If you don’t know Craig shame on you.

I’m kidding, I bet a lot of people didn’t really pay any mind to this character or even realised his name was Craig. He was the one Specialist who ran by Rivusa (when Musa was stuck to the ground and Riven was next to her) and yelled “Get a bloody room!”

Since then, Craig has become to some of us Rivusers (still not sure about our name) an icon, a mascot. Which I absolutely adore even though I don’t even know what he looks like. Not sure his face even appears. I still haven’t gone frame by frame to grab a screenshot.

However, this faceless man now has a voice and a personality and I owe it to this fic and to Nova! And man, how I adore him even more now.

Craig is funny, he’s snarky, he’s just trying to live his life and go on while shit hits the fan around him.

One of my favorite bits was when he was just trying to eat a profiterole during the alumni banquet when he was pulled to the side bcs Sam decided to try to murder Rosalind and Marco had to interfear and Craig had to fill in for Marco and Craig was pissed- because he had to leave the desert behind.

He cast one last longing glance at his half-eaten pastry before marching out.

Nova’s writing is just so easy and fluid and funny and it makes you fly through these moments you’ve seen before without being tireing or repetitve and it makes you feel like you’re truly in the story, seeing it happen before your eyes.

And the ending! The ending!!! It was perfect. Perfect way to end the story and wrap it up and it mirrors how we first came to meet Craig. So poetic!

This fic is not overly Rivusa, so if you’re not really into them you can still read it an enjoy it. But I do recommend reading, because it’s just this good!

For once I am not bullying an author into continuing their fics, This one left me satisfied with the way it ended, but I do want to bully Nova into writing more fics because I love the writing and I am a hungry reader!

Also, Nova, hi can we be friends?
