Longstanding headcanon that each class from danganronpa has like one game that they all get crazy invested in, like how kids irl got super into chess a while back. And they all get scary good at it bc none of these people know the meaning of the word “chill.” Amongst their own classmates they have varying skill levels, but put any of them up against anyone else and they’ll smoke the competition without a sweat

For Makoto’s class it’s billiards/pool. Hajime’s class plays beach volleyball like it’s a religion. Kaede and Shuichi’s class gets super into DDR.

And these matches get bloody. Did you see the look on Leon’s face when Makoto sunk the last 3 striped balls AND the 8 ball in one lucky shot? Were you there when Akane bodily launched Mikan 10 feet into the air so she could spike the ball where no one could save it? No not that time, the other time. No, the other other time. I heard Angie and Kokichi once played DDR for 10 hours straight because neither could fully beat the other and they only stopped because the arcade manager actually followed through on their threat to call the cops. The Togami family’s personal lawyers had to get involved to adjudicate a dispute between Kyoko and Celeste about what is and is not “cheating” at pool.

Then there’s people like Hiro or Toko, Hiyoko or Teru, and Gonta or Himiko. Compared to the rest of their classmates they’re not that impressive at their game of choice, but put them against someone from one of the other classes? No contest.

Sayaka collapsing in defeat as the DDR screen flashes that she has lost to her opponent’s perfect score. Humiliating: the Ultimate Popstar has been beaten by a 4’11” anemic girl in a witch hat. Himiko looks down at her and cocks her head to say:
