And — last but not least — there are those three tea-lenght dresses, cut and sewn from long fabrics of organza, lace and tulle, painted of the most intense shade of cobalt, or vivid cerulean or perhaps light blue sky. Yes — every shade of blue is Alice: among the softest clouds and in the deepest water, everywhere there's a little bit of blue that reminds him of his pretty, pretty Alice.

Tarrant is the happiest as she comes at his door wearing one of those three dresses, because that means they are going to spend some time together, and that would be one of the best days ever (as any day spent with Alice is the most beautiful of them all). And that one is a very fine day. Time has fallen asleep somewhere, and it seems the sun itself has stopped in the middle of the afternoon to leave them happily bathed in his warm light; sitting on a big picnic blanket, the Hatter opens his wicker basket. «Come on — hop hop — time to jump out of the cupboard, little friends. We have a very important guest to entertain!» and suddenly, two small cups of fine porcelain and a puffy teapot pop up and land on the blanket. «Oh, good. Tea's ready.»

Tarrant, however, suddenly feels Sadness thighting her hands around his neck. «Why, Alice — are you already planning to leave? I couldn't bear it, honestly. You've just come back» to me, he would add, but he isn't sure how she would take that. Brave she is, yes, but sometimes too unfocused on her Muchness to see what truly happens around her.

She shakes her head. The yellow porcelain cup jump on the open palm of her hand and she sips the green tea. «No, Hatter. This time I've come back for good, I promise.»

And she had promised, many moons ago, that she had wanted to stay this time. Business were finally done and gone in the Upland, that very strange place had no more sense to her; evil people there, and no fun at all. Not for a woman, anyway. While there, they had valiant Queens and brave Warrior lasses. Tarrant had made her tell the story of how she had chased a dream through a painting to fall down there all over again; a big tableau on the wall above the fireplace, she had painted just little details here and there: a white rabbit, big scarlet mushrooms and singing flowers, two funny children in white and red stripes and — obviously — a Mad Hatter. And when she had seen them walking together down the green, grassy road, she knew she only had to reach out. She didn't even bother to say goodbye.

He smiles at the thought, and his eyes sparkles emerald. «Well that's the best news, Alice! Many things I desire to show you.»

«Tell me about that.» Alice lets the cup go, and lays on the blanket; her golden hair are scattered around her just-right-seized head as a mane, her pale, soft skin shines in the lovely light of the day, a sweet breeze blows on her cheeks and goosebumps runs on her chest. Just like chishiya, there are intelligent people on the beach who do not fancy the thrill of parties, and until a few weeks ago there were no fun activities available for these people. Fortunately, Keiichi also known as the number 3 on the beach, came up with a solution that made everyone happy, keiichi delivered the idea to hatter and hatter announced it as his own idea. The idea was to give a hall on the ground floor for optional game activities in form of tournaments that changes each week. For a regularly social person who loves parties, these tournaments were boring, it looked boring from a far. It was understandable, very few women were there and the only attractive man present was chishiya.

As for chishiya, he was having the time of his life, he found himself visiting these events frequently, probably because he enjoyed crushing people, giving them hope and toying with them, before crushing them in these games. And since these tournament events happened at night chishiya even went as far as to add alcohol to his night of fun, after all, based on his standards there wasn’t much he’d call competition, his regular drinks were whisky’s and martinis depending on his mood and how much fun he was having. These events also helped chishiya take his mind off his soon to had been fiancé, this was a truth he had only shared with kuina. Chishiya missed his beloved girlfriend and worried about the possibilities of her ending up here, after all, chishiya had only been in Tokyo that day to pick up the custom made ring before appearing in the borderlands.

This week the game chosen was chess and that was a game chishiya had been mastering since he was nine, not having his parents actively present in his life gave him the opportunity to learn and grow independently. So at this point chishiya was a master. So far he had been scaling through the games, but he had heard that the predicted finalist was clearing opponents like it was nothing. He could never take a good look at the person because whenever they played, there was always a crowd around them, watching them intently, even though his games attracted a crowd it didn’t attract a large crowd like this person’s games. Finally the finals came and chishiya had arrived at the chess table 15 minutes earlier, he couldn’t shake off the nervous feeling in his stomach but as a result of that feeling , chishiya was even more excited.

15 minutes passed and his opponent appeared standing before him, wearing a scarlet red scarf hanging loosely around her neck, her fierce eyes piercing into his soul forcing him to look up and when he did, his normal expressionless gaze disappeared along with the unbothered facade he had sown to his personality. He felt dumb for not realising that you were his opponent, he did however notice that you were not a member of the beach and suspected that you had just walked in, found people placing chess and decided to join (that’s actually what happened). You stretched your hand out to shake him and asked playfully giggling “shall I have this dance” still star struck he nodded. The game began and after you both made your first move, the atmosphere was tense, after every move chishiya would raise his said to meet your fierce eyes, it made him warm, it distracted him, weakened his moves and to cope he drank more. You were winning, and chishiya was tipsy but still sober enough to play and understand his surroundings. “So what do we get if we win” chishiya asked, “something from each other” you added capturing his pawn, “well what do you want from me” chishiya interrogated, “you will find out once the game is over” you smirked retrieving your queen, “what do you want tho?” You spoke again, “alas querida I can not tell you yet” he said smugly in a stupid made up accent, which made you laugh, you stretched your hand over the board to brush back the blonde man’s hair, causing his body to be suddenly over taken with warmth, the tip of his ears red and his eyes fixated on you, before he could ask any questions you said “your hair, I want to play you at your best, I thought it might be obstructing your vision… I like the colour, it suit you…. Well you have always had it like that…. Well then I guess I just like your hair” chishiya smiled at your embarrassment and you both resumed the game, 30 minutes later, the game was over, chishiya had resigned and you were victorious.

After the game results had been declared and you had been celebrated, chishiya takes you on a walk towards his room where he hoped you would spend the night before introducing you to hatter and the other beach executives. “Ok ‘champions’ what did you want from me” chishiya said grabbing your hand and kissing it, “I probably shouldn’t ask, you are drunk right now and I might be and yeah we should just sleep” you said, realising you were now infront of chishiya’s room, you tried to get past him but he grabbed you arm, pulling you towards him, before asking “do you still like…. My hair” chishiya said trying to pick his words carefully.

In that moment y/n stood close to him so close she could feel the warmth of his breath as he spoke, her heart racing as their eye met, holding their gaze at each other, his hand wrapped around her waist, overwhelmed by her own need for him, she pulled him into a rough and messy kiss, pulling away from her, his overwhelming desires driving him crazy chishiya struggled with opening the door to his room, once opened, they wasted no time getting into the room, kissing roughly, making her decision on what she wants from this man, y/n pulled away from the kiss, biting down on his neck causing an unusual moan to escape from the lips of the blonde man. y/n planted a trail of kisses on the man as she dropped to her knees. him and nicolette had been making their way through one of the new markets, displaying one or two trinkets from back home. with those, break had been trying to listen to mad hatter's bare-bones descriptions, its feel for all things abyss-related. seems like, for today, that was a step too far, a push too much. he coughs.

raising his hand immediately, he has little hope that nicolette will miss the red that he tries to hide with his hand, but he'll try anyways. hacking for a short while, he supports himself with one hand holding onto her shoulder, his weight leaning into her the smallest bit. with the awkward position, his side aches, and break makes a noise like he's vexed, half a gag wet with blood.

' ... sorry, ' comes eventually, as the pain in his lungs finally relents, and he curls his hand immediately, hoping to keep the scarlet away from nicolette's sight, instead letting go of her and gesturing towards a random direction. ' i might need to sit for a second— this old man seems to be catching a cold, eh? '

The Case of the Uncool Ghouls, Part 9

Daphne and Velma weren’t the only ones splitting up. The Bishop of the Unholy Cross’ hideous goons, wreathed in a mysterious mist, nodded to each other solemnly and then wordlessly separated, proceeding opposite ways down the long linking corridor of the mansion. Velma meanwhile, lantern in hand, had decided to seek refuge in the library and await her fate. She did not have long to do so. The door creaked ominously and the dark haired ghost hunter swallowed as a white painted mask of a face appeared around the door frame. “Hi.” said Velma conversationally to her ghoulish visitor. “Hrrrm?” the terrifying apparition sounded from its scarlet lipped mouth.

“Why don’t you come in?” the girl continued, “it must be chilly out in that drafty corridor.” The bemused spectre pushed the door open wide and advanced on the apparently fearless brains of Mystery Inc. The ghost quickly glanced to the ceiling, searching for one of Velma’s signature traps to come crashing down on him. There was nothing. A malevolent smile spread over his monstrous features as he resumed his movement towards the orange and red clad Velma. “You should have listened to the Hatter, foolish girl,” he said gleefully, his ghostly tones echoing through the library. “Now you will - mmmph!” His threat remained unspoken as a shapely and immaculately manicured, purple nail varnished hand closed around his mouth.

A little later Daphne stood in the drawing room faced by the grimly masked visage of the second of the Bishop’s goons. This horror however remained spookily seated, gazing enigmatically at the red haired mystery solver. “Aren’t you going to say anything?” Daphne eventually asked, perplexed, “Or, like, chase me? Threaten me? Warn me off?” She sounded almost disappointed. At length the alarming figure rose and stretched out his hands in an unmistakable strangling gesture, and began to walk menacingly towards the apparently trapped Daphne. The glamorous ghost detective closed her eyes. Crash! Daphne’s deep green eyes shot open again as the goon was sent sprawling by a hidden trip wire, and Velma emerged from hiding and sat heavily on the floored phantom’s back. “And that makes two!” the young woman said with satisfaction to her smiling friend, adjusting her spectacles.
