Raising his gloved hand, he gently brushed his knuckles over her stained cheek. Taking a moment to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, he dipped his masked head towards hers, stopping a scant inch before touching her forehead. It was part of the secret language they had formed with one another. A phantom kiss from behind the metal.

Closing her eyes, she curled her lips into a pleased smile. Of course real kisses were better, but this sign of affection was a close second.

“I love you,” she whispered.

Dropping his hand, he grasped hers and gave it a squeeze. He wished he could take her back to his chambers right now, while she was still sweet and compliant. But then again, it could be fun if some of her spunk came back. Maybe he would draw out the evening as much as possible.

“I know,” he replied, leading his future Empress into the foreboding castle.

So I've been seeing a question circulate on several pages I follow today and I thought I would address it because I think it can be uncomfortable when it is directed at you.

"How should we support you?"

So here's the thing, REBLOGS are key. If you cannot support an artist financially (which is completely fair), REBLOGS are essential to support. With the way the algorithm works on Tumblr, even if people follow us, it is not guaranteed that they see our work. So, if you can't support someone financially, and I can guarantee you no author/artist is going to be upset at you for that, Reblog Reblog Reblog.

Aside from that, if you can support someone financially but let's say you don't want to make a commitment to a Patreon, most creators have a Ko-fi. I cannot tell you how nice it is to see that little notification pop up. Even when it is something small like a few dollars. Mainly because it is an acknowledgment that someone out there likes us enough to do that. And that is such an ego boost and often times kicks our procrastinating butts into gear to create.

And after all that, if those options are not something you are able to do, kind words. Encouragement. I don't know a content creator out there who does not struggle with low self-esteem and insecurities. And it may seem stupid that a stranger on the internet is as helpful as I am saying, but you guys are. Your thoughts, your kindness, MATTERS.

I hope this helps and I hope it takes away some of the awkwardness around the question.
