honestly g7 as grp and individually have won me over with their music style, even if i don't like full album ik there will be 3-4 songs which will be exactly what i like to listen to, all of the music they've released individually i've liked it so much. there is this song of youngjae's, titled "i'm all ears" i had no idea of its existence until it popped up in my spotify i'm so glad it did, it's been in my playlist ever since. there was also a time when i was obsessed with jackson's 'on the rocks' djdjdk.

[NEWS]Byul and Decipher’s Taejin announced as new faces of Chamisul

On July 17, Chamisul soju confirmed that Byul and Decipher’s Taejin have been selected as the new faces of their prominent brand. Chamisul has been known for its clean image, emphasizing the ‘fresh’ feel of their liquor product.

A representative of HiteJinro revealed, “Byul and Taejin have received much love from the public, known for their pure and clean image suited towards Chamisul. Byul’s music has managed to captivate not just the hearts of those in their 20′s and 30′s, but those of the older generation as well as Taejin’s acting endeavors have been met with much acclaim and charmed the public with his various roles. Both idol-turned-actors have long-tenured careers, their growth observed by the public as loved representations of their companies.”

Following the announcement, a new television advertisement featuring Byul and Taejin was revealed, showcasing the product. Both individuals will be promoting Chamisul at various fansigns and brand events. Specific dates are to be announced at a later time.

Both idols debuted in 2008. Byul is currently starring in tvN’s Mr. Sunshine as Go Ae-Shin, while Taejin is currently on the tail of promotions for Decipher’s twelfth year comeback.

10 Iconic On-Screen Couples of All-Time

As someone who grew up watching the same romance tropes used over and over again, I can almost immediately figure out on which on-screen couples have actual chemistry or not and a big part of it comes from the couples friendship off-screen. Some of them are really solid while others just straight up despise each other, and these relationships really affect the way their characters interact on-screen. Here, I’ll discuss 10 on-screen couples that are just too good together (in my opinion!)

1. AMITABH AND REKHA

One of the most controversial couples of Bollywood, the Amitabh-Rekha formula was a hit after the film Do Anjaane (1976). Although the pair starred in 10 movies opposite each other, their most talked about movie with Jaya Bachchan was the 1981 film Silsila. The movie focused on a love triangle between Bachchan, his wife Jaya, and Rekha, and it was so controversial because many thought that it was a real life depiction of the three’s relationship. Although the pair haven’t collaborated after Silsila, they now seemed to have gotten over it and started respecting each other as they began greeting each other in award functions and whatnots.

2. SRK AND KAJOL

This duo is basically like two puzzle pieces; they fit perfectly! The actors paired up for the first time in the 1993 thriller Baazigar and went on to star in 8 more movies. Those include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001), Karan Arjun (1995), and of course Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), which is the longest running Bollywood movie ever. Off-screen, they are very good friends that still talk and work with each other, which shows that they are very well connected and it helps in improving their characters’ chemistry. The romance and connection between them is so natural that you forget for a moment that they aren’t a real couple!

3. RAJ AND NARGIS

The oldest on-screen couple in this list, the successful actors were paired with each other for the first time in 1948′s Aag. Although the film did an average job in the box office, the pair did the 1949 film Barsat, which went on to be a hit. They then starred in many blockbusters together, including Shree 420 (1955), Awaara (1951), and Chori Chori (1956). Even though in most of their movies they ended up together, off screen the duo were having an affair for a long time. Nargis wanted to marry Raj, but he refused her proposal, sinking herself into depression before meeting her future-husband Sunil Dutt. If only singing in the rain could make the actors fall in love with each other in real life.

4. SRIDEVI AND ANIL

A very nostalgic couple in my opinion, they were showcased as a couple in the silver screen for the very first time in Mr. India (1987), even though they worked together in two films before this iconic one. They then went on to star in 10 movies together, with the most memorable one being 1991′s Lamhe. Sridevi went on to marry Anil Kapoor’s brother Boney Kapoor and take a 15-year-long hiatus from acting after 1997′s Judaai. On screen they were so comfortable together and a big part of it comes from the the actors real-life relationship. Many of the 80′s-90′s kids wished that they would collaborate again, but sadly it seems to be left as a dream after Sridevi’s untimely death.

5. AAMIR AND JUHI

Probably one of my favorite couples of all time, Aamir and Juhi starred together in the movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), which was a successful venture. The duo went on to star in movies like Ishq (1997) and Love Love Love (1989). Although on-screen the couple shared great chemistry, off-screen they weren’t really in good terms. According to Aamir, the petty fight started in the set of Ishq where Aamir would avoid Juhi at all costs. The actors didn’t get in touch for seven years and when they did, it was when Aamir was getting a divorce from his first wife, Reena Dutta. The actors are now in talking terms and I seriously hope they do a movie together again.

6. VARUN AND ALIA

Hands down the generation’s most prominant on-screen couple is Varun-Alia. Both of them debuting in Student of the Year in 2012 with Siddharth Malhotra, the interviews they give together indicates a rock solid friendship between them. The duo continued starring alongside each other in Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania (2014), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), and Kalank (2019), most of them being hits. Whats there not to love about them? Both of them are equally charming and they steal all your attention whenever they are on-screen. And even though they are the newest/youngest couple in the list, I can say undoubtedly that in the future years, they’ll star in more romantic blockbusters opposite each other.

7. SALMAN AND MADHURI

Let’s be honest: after the hit Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), you thought they were a match made in heaven. Although they starred in other movies before, this classic 90′s movie with a generic plot showed how much chemistry they have and its the kind that you don’t come across that often. In film promos, interviews, and reality shows it is apparent that the two actors have a very friendly relationship together. There is little to no hatred nor pettiness between them and they praise each other as artists whenever they can. They are basically the example of how memorable a movie can be if the right actors with a strong friendship are put opposite each other.

8. HRITHIK AND AISHWARYA

*sigh* Where do I even start? The two equally gorgeous stars were opposite each other for the first time in Dhoom 2 (2006), a film that lacked a good script but was saved by the performances and the connection of the duo. The public loved them together on the silver screen (even though they were very against their kissing scene), so two years later they were starred in the award-winning Jodha-Akbar (2008), one of the best period films Bollywood has to offer. Although their next film together, Guzaarish (2010), was a box office failure, it didn’t falter the friendship and respect both the actors have for each other. I really do hope that they will work in more films together soon.

9. KATRINA AND AKSHAY

Even though they have a prominent age gap between them (15 year, to be exact), there is no denying the fact that they work very well together. First paired up in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006), they later on worked together in films like Namastey London (2007) and Singh Is Kinng (2008). Growing up in the 2000′s, I grew up watching their films with comedy and romance and the fact that they are gonna be back at it again with Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (2020) just has me squealing with joy! Both the actors have grown so much (especially Kaif) and much of the growth comes from them learning from each other, which I have to commend to.

10. RANBIR AND DEEPIKA

One of the biggest reasons I love their dynamic is not just because they look cute together. It is because of how much they have grown and are willing to overlook each other’s differences. They started dating in 2007 and worked in their first film together, Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008). Ranbir cheated on Deepika 2 years later, which caused them to break up. The media treated the news like hot gossip and there are many outrageous theories made out there, but somehow the actors learned to persevere and continued to work in more films together. Yeh Jawani Hai Dewani (2013) and Tamasha (2015) both have great performances from both the actors and themes.

Album (EP) Review!

The Wrecks - Panic Vertigo

Released February 16, 2018

Although technically an EP, I wanted to review this 5 track record in honor of The Wrecks releasing their newest single Freaking Out yesterday, so Let’s go:

Track 1 : Figure This Out - The first track on this EP starts with a bang. A song about a wishy washy relationship, saying goodbye and yet coming back for more. Nick Anderson’s voice is clear and straight forward with this track and I think that helps drive home the themes as well. I love the guitar solo bit too, such a vibe. My favorite lyrics: She said, "Are you gonna write a song about me?" / And I think that I just about threw up in my mouth / Hope that's the vodka talking I think speak for themselves. Overall a jamming start to this EP.

Track 2 : James Dean - Easily one of my favorites by The Wrecks. I heard them play this before its official release in 2017 and damn it stuck with me the whole year before it’s studio version. It’s a song to dance and sing out loud too. The struggles of being cool are highlighted in this rocking track. Hey, he might not be James Dean but that’s okay too.

Track 3 : Way With Words - From the beginning, the sound switches to a more mellow tone with the simple drum beat and strong chorus. We’re left asking “is this what we really wanted from our relationship?” The recurring lyric Is this what you wanted? sets the tone of Nick wanting answers and showing this girl what has happened up to this point of a rocky relationship. A relatable track with a nice break in sound from the other songs on this EP.

Track 4 : Panic Vertigo - The title track for this record, a song that definitely sets the frame for this group of songs. The acoustic guitar paired with the punchy percussion makes you wanna sing at the top of your lungs and move through the motions. The bridge too? Such a sick breakdown! The lyrics: I’ve had it with this panic vertigo, yeah I have to let it go dare I say reflect getting your shit together in the hard times and getting back on your feet. A great song with a cool title as well.

Track 5 : Revolution - Talk about a song that makes you wanna sing and dance. This track is so full of power and energy. The lyrics: I know myself More than you knew who I was Gives the tone for the rest of the song. You can really picture Nick’s face as he belts out those lyrics. A perfect way to wrap up a solid EP.

Album Overview - With each release, The Wrecks gain more and more traction in the music world, getting stronger in every aspect, vocally, instrumentally, and structurally. From the mellow Panic Vertigo to jamming along to James Dean, this EP is well rounded and ready to show the world what it has. I’m so excited for The Wreck’s debut album and the alt-rock world should be too.

For "America First," I don know exactly what you mean by that, but I can assure you liberals want to put America first, too. It just that our version of America First is like. Paying teachers and funding healthcare. She was a great person who was caring loving and understanding. She texted me out of the blue one day telling me she wanted to break up. I called her but she didn want to talk about it. I awoke from that and was a completely different person. I say it was a spiritual re awakening. The next 2 years where spent learning how to live like a normal non depressive human as I did not have the skill set. I got my ferrets after researching them, and reading lots of pro ferret sites saying they really don smell like people say they do. The shelter I got them from kept them outside and it wasn noticable then. I got them home, they spent a solid 4 hours minimum everyday playing out (with me watching them like a hawk). All these posts remind me of Destiny in September 2014, and they still post them to this day on r/dtg. Not worth wasting time on it. Anthem is fun, and once they flatten out some more bugs and work out server/network stability I will have veey few complaints that aren about individual preference.. At the very least, they've been clear that they recognize huge changes are necessary, and that they're "in it for the long haul". A lot of the parts of Artifact were excellent in isolation, like the music and the story/lore/in game dialogue, so I really do hope it finds success in its new incarnation. It'll be interesting to see if this game can pull a Final Fantasy XIV.. Our boy hasn't had an accident since he's 4 months old. Being consistent is key. Take your pup out for potty after every single activity. There are outliers, of course. Try buying an original copy of MUSHA on the Genesis (over $300), a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga on Saturn ($700), a copy of Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire on PC Engine (over $1000) or nearly ANY Neo Geo AES game. There are Neo Geo AES titles worth in excess of $50,000!! In those cases, it extreme rarity. The resulting mixture should be a thick paste. If necessary, add more distilled water to achieve this consistency. Store the paste in a container with a tight lid to slow dehydration. You talked about SNSD as well; Tiffany looks really different from her pre debut pictures but she was born and raised in California and probably loved to hang out in the sun like most people do there and I think her skintone really changed from starting to use sunscreen and stopping sunbathing. I think in most cases, they just went back to their original skintone and highlighted the paleness with makeup, lighting and sometimes Photoshop. we clowned aespa for their ae and kwangya concept without looking into what that actually (might have) meant. or maybe we did and we just like to joke around abt it lol.

there are many ways and angles to take on this. i have yet to finish close reading lyrics of savage (ep), and i'm mostly taking cues from how aespa's concept was introduced through debut/smcu eps, visual narratives from their MVs, lyrics from black mamba and next level, etc. so i might be completely off. nevertheless here goes death of the author. this is going to be really messy and i have yet to completely and properly write a think piece on this but i just want to let it out so we can stop pretending that aespa's concept is anything short of genius.

ever since sm released smcu ep. 1 i've been thinking about how we built an entire virtual world and just accept that we interact on it on a daily basis without realizing it sometimes. like the internet, NFTs, digital fashion—an entire virtual world outside of what we tangibly/physically experience is out there. and i think it's quite a sign of the times that we are asking questions, creating music, building an entire kpop group that explores it. at university, i've been encountering lots of text and literature that talk about this specifically--evocative objects by sherry turkle being the most recent one.

like what defines our human experience, is it the physical world? and what if the virtual inventions of mankind found their way into our daily routines as much as those of the physical world has (hello 1992 invention of the www who wouldve thought)? what does that interaction make of us (and our virtual personas), how much (dis)connection are we experiencing from the fact that virtual everything has been on the rise? how much is it making us lonelier? happier? more human? less human? -- truly some philosophical questions here sometimes lol

the pandemic actually accelerated that because we don't have much choice but to go online to connect, to shop, to deposit money, to interact, to read, to entertain ourselves. where do all these things end up? floating somewhere in the virtual world yet they play such huge part in our lives!!!! it's really mind blowing if you just take a step back and try to take in how much of our lives are facilitated by virtual tools... people?

if you have other literature that can provide an angle/another take on this. i'd be happy to hear about them! this actually makes me so excited because of how this can really be explored in aespa's discography and the smcu.

i'm sorry its 5am where im from, i've just finished uni work and haven't had sleep. just had to write this and think out loud so i cant find the right words to this atm. I promise when i find the time i'll flesh it out more haha and maybe link a blog post of some sort.

do share related ideas! for those who have close read smcu and aespa's lyrics, are there any textual evidence that point/prove/support this thought? would love to hear them.

[TRANSLATION] The Star Magazine November 2014 issue x GOT7

You guys are having “GOT7 1st Japan Tour 2014” in Japan right now, what’s the concert like?

Yugyeom: We will perform our Japanese song “Around the World” for the first time and we also have prepared many sub-unit performances. Please look forward to it!

JB: I hope it’s a concert that the audience can enjoy and have fun with us. The space between the stage and the seats is very close. It is the best way to get closer to our fans.

When we mention GOT7, we can’t forget about “martial arts”, isn’t it scary?

Yugyeom: I’ve injured my leg when I was a trainee and it was the first day that I learnt martial arts. I did a backward somersault, but I didn’t land properly so I got injured.

Jr.: All the members have small injuries but we can’t talk about it in front of Yugyeom. (laughs)

We heard that because Jr. is timid, so he took the longest to learn the tricks.

Jr.: I have a lot of unnecessary thoughts on mind, such as “what am I going to do with the schedule if I get injured?” To be honest I’m still scared just by talking about it. In the beginning, even a cartwheel was difficult for me.

Mark’s flips are very impressive. Is it also martial arts?

JB: Although it looks dangerous, but it was actually a movement that we succeeded at first try. But the landing poses were unstable so we had to practice a lot on the landing.

Mark: I think I have jumped hundreds times to master the flip.

Do you guys want to try other dancing styles?

Jr.: I want to learn modern dance. If modern dance and street dance can combine well together, I think it would turn out to be a very cool dance choreography.

Yugyeom: I want to try modern dance too. I learnt a bit just before our debut and it was really fun, even though my leg injury did hurt a little.

JB: I want to try tap dance. It’s one of the style under House dance which I really like. If you put these two together, the steps will be really smooth. Also, I want to learn jazz dance. When I’m dancing, I have a greed to achieve a beautiful (body) line.

JB was involved in a car accident recently, are you okay?

JB: I’m okay. I’m fine but the manager, coordi noona, stylists that were on the car were very startled. Because I had schedule the next day so I didn’t even show a sign of tiredness.

Is this the distress of being a leader?

JB: I told the members not to be late, but it is difficult when things like this happen. I’m not the type that arrives late but if I was late myself, then I can’t say much to the members. I have a lot of responsibilities. I have to be the role model (for the members) but when I couldn’t, it really troubles me.

Jr. was casted in “Dream High 2”, is there a role that you want to challenge?

Jr.: Science fiction related films. When there’s nothing in the background and you have to imagine while you act. I watched “Avatar”, it was just a blue screen at the back, the actor had to act by himself and then they put everything together with the graphics. I want to try that.

During the trainee days, you guys received sex education from teacher Koo Sung-Ae. Was it helpful?

Yugyeom: At the time, I was in my 2nd year of middle school. Because I didn’t have much knowledge about it so it was useful.

Jr.: It’s not something you can learn from anywhere. It’s basic common sense. And I realized that “ah, because it’s sex education so it’s necessary to learn.”

In “Roommate 2”, Jackson showed his immense love for meat, have you always liked meat?

Jackson: Compare to not getting enough sleep, it’s a more sensitive issues to me if I’m hungry. I like everything except for spicy food. If I eat spicy food, I will sweat a lot, but having said that, the spicy sausage stew is very delicious. I sweat like a pig when I’m eating it.

Yugyeom: All the members like eating meat. When our schedules ends, we go back to our dormitory, and we order braised spicy chicken with vegetables to eat while watching the TV.

We heard that Bambam’s mother is big fan of Rain. Does she still like him?

Bambam: She likes Cha Seung-won now. She watched the drama “The Greatest Love” and fell for him. Instead of liking singers, now she likes tall and handsome model-turned-actors.

In “Win” GOT7 had a dance battle with YG’s WINNER, it left a deep impression on us. At the time Yang Hyun Suk praised Bambam, how did you feel?

Bambam: It felt great. Actually, afterwards people around me kept giving me good feedbacks, saying “ah, this kid has got something.” And I want to do better so it’s becoming a burden.

Early this year, we saw the news that GOT7 members were diagnosed with swine flu. You guys must have been startled?

Jr.: There are many people misunderstands that it’s really painful to have swine flu. Actually it wasn’t that painful. The swine flu virus has been around for 4 years, right. So you will recover real soon after taking the medicines.

JB: It’s improper to call swine flu an illness. It’s actually just a cold. I didn’t even know how long I’ve had the swine flu. I did a check-up, and I was told that it has been more than a week. I was very healthy that I didn’t even realize I had swine flu for a week.

Bambam: Actually it’s still painful. I’ve had a cold for 2 weeks now.

If you guys didn’t become singers, what do you think you will be doing right now?

Jackson: Maybe I’ve participated in the London Olympic? Even if I didn’t get a gold medal in fencing, I would still get a good mark. I was a champion when I was little.

Mark: I think I would be an ordinary university student in America.

Youngjae: Studying for the national college entrance exams.

Yugyeom: A dancer. I like dancing so I will continue to dance.

JB: A soldier. I will be in the army. I will be the private first class soldier serving in the army.

Bambam: I think I will be doing something in Thailand. I had some activities before coming to Korea.

Jr.: I will be a psychology major student in a university. I have a desire to learn about people’s psychological state.

What do you guys want to achieve as GOT7?

Youngjae: I want GOT7 to be known for having pure talents.

Bambam: A group that leads the trend. It would be great if we become a group that can make a difference in the industry.

JB: It would be great if other singers can make remakes of our songs, or follows our performances.

Mark: I want to become a singer that receives acknowledgement upon the other singers.

Jackson: I want to become a singer that is a role model for everyone. And I want us to become a group of 7 members with its own color.

Jr.: It would be great if GOT7 can last for a long time. Even though it’s good to be the best, but I hope we can become a group that can gather up together whenever we say “hey let’s release an album”.

Yugyeom: A group that can last for a long time. I want us to succeed individually and get to the top.

What are your future plans?

Jr.: We are planning to release our third album. We are working really hard on it. We are aiming to become great singers.

JB: We’ve really worked hard this time, so we want to receive the rookie award. I hope our efforts will be rewarded. Please show us a lot love!

How AR Rahman Reacted When 99 Songs Director Cast Pakistani Actors

Music maestro AR Rahman is set to make his debut as a film producer and co-writer with musical drama 99 Songs.

At the trailer launch of the film, the Oscar-winning composer and director Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy spoke about how they cast their lead Ehan Bhat. Rahman revealed that Vishwesh had originally found three Pakistani actors for the role but he was apprehensive that casting anyone from the neighbouring country might cause problem for the project.

“We were looking for a hero who could sing, act and who was charming. So, we were scanning everything and our friend (director) goes to Pakistan and he picks up three guys from Pakistan and I said, ‘Why can’t you find any boy in India who can sing?’ He said, ‘No sir, this guy can sing and he plays very well.’ I said what if something happens? This was before all the trouble happened. I said, ‘This is my first movie, don’t make problems for me.’ The exact same thing happened, no? I’m so glad… then we went back to audition again.”

The director, however, clarified that they were primarily looking for musicians to play the lead in the film and it was a pure coincidence that all three original actors were happened to be from Pakistan.

“Usually what happens is even when you go to a store, you first check the quality of the product. Later you see where it’s been manufactured – Made in Indonesia, Made in China, Made in India… What we were looking for was a musician and the ones that seemed to have a Hindi diction and could play instruments just happened to not be from India. But it’s not like we made a decision to only pick actors from Pakistan, they just happened to be from there. But at the end of it, I think Ehan more than made up for all of our initial choices. I have to say that he really grew into his role,” said Vishwesh.

Following the Uri attack in 2016, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association banned all Pakistani actors and technicians from working in India. While several films featuring popular Pakistani celebrities were cancelled, many found themselves amidst huge controversy, especially Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which featured Fawad Khan as part of the primary cast.

Similar sentiments came to the fore after the February 14 attack on a military convoy in J&K. Following the incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association announced a blanket ban on Pakistani artistes in India. Music label T-Series unlisted songs by Pakistani musicians from its portals, including the Atif Aslam single Baarishein. Actor Ajay Devgn, whose film Total Dhamaal was on pace for release, announced that the comedy would not open in Pakistan. A reverse action of sorts was taken by Pakistan following the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, 99 Songs also features Edilsy Varghese, Tenzin Dalha, Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, drummer Ranjit Barot and Indian Ocean’s Rahul Ram in supporting roles. The film, which had its premiere at the 24th Busan International Film Festival, follows the journey of a man who must learn to balance his love for music and his love for his girlfriend while dealing with his rising fame.

The phoitographer said of those idols, Kyungsoo had the most noteworthy character. At one point on the job, they mentioned wanting to eat Seollein (a portable shake).
