Whoever did Reginald's costuming in particular... I'm obsessed with them. The progression from the softer colours and fabric, sloped shoulders, etc. in the earlier episodes: ep 3 especially the cream, wool jumper which was so un-Reginald and went far in making him seem fragile and elderly, that (despite Colm Feore being 63) Reginald never reads as. But as the season progresses and he weans himself off of the pills, his choices swing back to stiffer, darker fabrics and much sharper shapes. You barely even notice while it's happening across episodes but comparing them side by side and it becomes so obvious he was reverting back to himself, conveyed just through costumes AUGh

I stand by the fact that tua s1 was made for the viewers and everything past that was made for the money.

#how did they go from a dark little ‘siblings with mutual trauma find it hard to bond because of the trauma and coping mechanisms they don’t #share’ to ‘we are going to get rid of a character’s entire coping mechanism off screen because fuck you that’s why. you were invested in #this character and his improvement as he realises he has to face his trauma if he wants to be happy #too bad he gets that development off screen.’#to ‘Yea no this character has never had any desire to do a certain thing and it’s a storyline that would better fit another character but #we want an Amish joke so he’s going on this little adventure. oh also you know one of the coolest villain sets we have in the show? gone for #our own convenience to try to explain why they wouldn’t be trying to fix the kugelblitz themselves’#not to mention that s3 had an opportunity to really deep dive on how the Brellie’s were shaped by their trauma and that if they were raised #by loving parents they would be so much better off. so it begs the question of ‘would they rather grow up happy or with eachother?’#but nah. funky dance scene to footloose instead #tua #the umbrella academy
