I made paper stars (Which is an obsession by now) and hung them on my ceiling because why not? ANDDD I RECOMMEND DOING THIS IF YOURE STRESSED. It’s a very fun activity!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It's looking like my upcoming cabin-camping trip is going to be rained out pretty much entirely. It'll be nice the day I get there, so I should be able to get in a short hike and a campfire before the deluge, and there's one day that the forecast hints at a possibility of maybe sneaking in a hike between showers, but the other two days it's probably going to pour.
Any ideas on how I can make the best of this situation? I'm definitely still going; the cabin is paid for either way, and it has a fireplace, so it should be cozy even if the weather is totally crummy. Here's what Iv'e brainstormed so far:
Sit on the porch and watch the rain
Make a fire in the fireplace and read while listening to rain
Wear poncho and hike anyway (if it isn't raining too hard)
Find a pavilion to have picnic & watch rain from alternate location
Drive around and look at wet scenery
Sling hammock on the porch and read (if it isn't too cold & porch has exposed beams for hammock-slinging)
Jigsaw puzzles (this is my go-to for evenings too wet for a campfire, but since I'm likely to have three of those, I either need an additional activity or more puzzles.)
Any other ideas?
The park has a little nature center/museum that will supply an hour or so of indoor entertainment (if it's open).
The nearby towns don't seem to have much to offer--plus I'll have Sophie the Dog with me, and it's not allowed to leave dogs unsupervised in the cabins. She doesn't mind hanging out in the car for a bit, but there's a limit to how much I can do that isn't dog-friendly. (If that wasn't a factor, I'd be thinking about maybe driving into Pittsburgh to go to some museums, but it's too far a drive from the cabin to be worth it for the amount of time I can reasonably leave her in the car.)

Honestly the easiest thing evvveerr and when you aren't a professional Baker things like this are always a winner - kids can get involved, doesn't take 2 hours and doesn't involve a heap load of mess!
There are loads of ways to make it - some people use white chocolate with orange food colouring for the 'vibes' but some buy pre-coloured chocolate', some make their own shapes for the topping, various forms of chocolate you can use, some melt chocolate in a Bain-Marie, some microwave etc. Also this doesn't just apply to Halloween - can make it any theme, any day of the week 🤌

1) I used a rectangular tin which I lined with baking parchment (makes it easy to remove chocolate) used 3 full bars of the 200g chocolate which I lined flat in the tin.
2) Put the tin in the oven and cook for about 4 minutes at 200⁰ til melted - be careful not to overcook the chocolate, so just keep checking to make sure it's a silky smooth texture. When melted just used fork to blend dark and milk chocolate together (but not fully)
3) Use whatever 'spooky' themed topping to add to the top - go crazy.
4) Leave to cool, then refrigerate.
5) You can try and use a knife to cut up but it breaks apart easy into shards.
