I volunteer/study at the zoo and I try to get at least one sketch done before I leave, and the boys are right by the entrance/exit so they're one of my most common subjects, also I love them.

In her part of the show, she'd teach kids all different kinds of facts about the weather, why it is like this and what should they do, like how to tell it's gonna rain, sometimes would do little geography lessons which she sure knows a lot about!

Would most definitely advertise various stuff from Howdy's shop that would be useful for the weather she's telling about, like "a new neat umbrella and rain boots for the gloomy soggy days" or "a refreshing cold drink to help with the summer heat!"

You could call Daria quite the fashionista, she likes to pick her attire matching the weather, both in matters of style and comfort. She always makes sure that her neighbors are dressed according to the temperature and etc too, so for example, she better not catch you without your scarf when it's freezing outside- (would give you a lecture why you should wear one and will put her own on you lol)

(most of her outfits are made by my other oc Sunny, a shy tailor who's not big on very chatty and loud people, but him and Daria somehow get along really well!)

Definitely owns a ton of different sunglasses too, it's nearly impossible to see Daria without them.

Daria got into the neighborhood by a storm. Dragonflies are undeniably great at flying but not even they can always predict what they'll get into on their way! But don't worry, she got into trustworthy hands (or wings?-) of neighborhood's mail-bird Sean Gull, could it be love at first sight-

She's transfem, pan and polyamorous

Being overly energetic, Daria sometimes bumps into other neighbors , just not noticing they're standing in the way while she's deep in thought. Would be pretty apologetic if she makes them fall- It'd take her some time to remember where she was heading to too..

She'd also oftenly appear as a star guest at the regular human weather forecast or some scientific geography TV programs :D

(I'll prolly add up more info later as my burnout passes, have a lil doodle of her human ver instead lol)

do you think cad would be into making terrariums/vivariums? especially in dragonfly year? I like to imagine on low spoons days or on days when it feels best to be in bed, he sits and watches the little bugs roam around and keeps track of what plants are growing well.. he feeds them fruit and cucumber slices and watches them gather to eat, and maybe he grabs empty eggshells from the kitchen to crush up and sprinkle in for the snails :~)

oh yes definitely :'-3 i think he'd love it. and yes, in dfy for sure when he has time and money (or enough good jars and moss to start something going). eggshells for snails is nice too :-D he gets tmn to put the eggshells in a box instead of in the bin and he can use them for compost too because hes going to make a nice small garden too. i think plants and moss and things would be nice for his room because it makes the air fresher for when hes too dizzy and everything to go on a walk . also jester i think would probably get him a marimo as a gift so he gets to take care of it by refreshing its water and rolling it around when it needs. also i think he'd end up doing things like having jars he's watching interesting mould grow in. and i'd like to say he's careful with it and opens them outside if he wants a closer look and covers his mouth but its cad so he probably sniffs mould

meet Effie Dragonfly (Voice claim Effie Trinket from the hunger games)

Effie Dragonfly is a actor from the big city who temporarily moved into home. She is believed to be related to Howdy, although the show never stating it directly.

She is often given a Sassy, confident attitude, with a bit of a ego (nothing to bad though)

She is two different types of puppet. a hand rod puppet, and a live hand puppet, live hands for her upper set of arms, and rods for her lower.

anyway, now that introductions are done here :D

Hello Tumblr, I’ve been doing a thing for grad school and it’s finally finished and hopefully my body will recover from the lack of sleep and insane amounts of stress soon.

This is a series of videos about art, scientific inquiry, conservation, and other stuff, with 50ish original artworks, by me, most of which have timelapses, for the project (and other art I’ve made that wasn’t specifically for this), plus live footage and photos and a little bit of stock footage because I didn’t want to go searching for pigeons and giraffes when I was already so far behind

It is hopefully pretty fun despite being infodumps, it includes a lot of dumb cartoons and videos of my cat (including a whole bonus vlog of me taking him on a walk if you’re into that kind of thing)

If you can’t tell from this kind of random selection of artwork, the videos are about:

and interacting with urban wildlife

While 'Lia was a quiet child, who'd rather spend time with her flower pots, taking care of various plants and sometimes helping out Mrs Barnaby on the farm - Daria was quite the opposite. Adventurous little bug was the regular cause of disturbance for her (and not only) parents, attempting various mischief and ruckus on daily basis.

And no, I didn't forget to draw Daria's wings - little dragonflies just don't really have them :D

She'd also spend most of the time splashing in some nearby pond cuz that's where they live as babies lol

Dragonfly Mercury Project

Mercury often enters parks as air pollution from distant, human-caused sources, like coal-burning power plants. Dragonfly larvae are excellent indicators of mercury risk because they can live for years underwater eating insects and even small fish. Once it is deposited, mercury can build up inside the larvae and give scientists insight into the health of the waters in which they live. The Dragonfly Mercury Project (DMP) is a national program that brings together citizen engagement and education with scientific efforts to survey water sources to understand mercury (Hg) risk in protected areas. 2020 was the seventh year that Mount Rainier National Park (MORA) participated in the DMP! In 2020, two Mount Rainier National Park sites were classified as “low risk” and one site as “moderate risk” for Hg impairment. Across all parks, 24% of sites sampled in 2020 were classified as “low risk” and 51% were classified as “moderate risk”.

so this has probably been answered before, but what exactly caused the two V units to come together to form W?

they didn't exactly "come together"

It's more like one of two very unfinished prototypes "woke up" before the other ever could, and in an urge to complete itself augmented its twin into its body

it split it's processing unit/brain in half, one half put into the new head.

this resulted in a one person, two heads situation, that eventually after a long time of the halves being separated - turned into one person with two heads, but each head has different aspects of the persons personality
